Melanie looked down at her phone from the last text that Nefertari sent her was the address, she looked out the window of her car she managed to get to the right address, letting out a slight sigh she was nervous being on a date after so long. Mel got out of her car and closed the door behind her and started to make her way towards the front door she stood there for a few seconds before ringing the doorbell.
The door opened and there was Nefertari, who smiled.
"Hey, glad to see you found it. Also glad that the neighborhood didn't scare you off. Not quite the best, but it is home. Would you like to come in for a moment, or shall we be on our way?" She asked, looking over Mel. Her smile grew a bit wider as she looked at what the singer was wearing. "Very nice."
"Nothing really scares me that much, my house isnt that far from here either." Mel said with a smile and blushed slightly to the compliment.
"I havent worn this in a really long time, and I thought it would be nice for our date. I wouldnt mind coming in for a bit." Melanie took a step closer and gave Neffy a gentle hug.
Neffy happily returned the hug and then gestured for Mel to enter.
"I think one of my housemates may still be home, but I know Morgan is still at work," she said, and lead Mel to the living room. It seemed a tad dark, but given one of the housemates slight aversion to light it made sense.
"May I offer you something to drink?" She asked curiously.
Mel smiled when Neffy returned the hug and took a step inside following Nefertari into the living room and noticed that the room was slightly darker but knew the reason why. She turned to look at Neffy when she mentioned housemates.
"How many live here?" She was slightly curious, and started to look around the room. "I wouldnt mind having some water." Melanie said as she walked over and sat down on the couch.
Neffy nodded, and headed to the kitchen. After the sounds of a cabinet door opening, and water pouring, she reappeared with a glass of water and handed it to Mel.
"Here you go. And in answer to your question, three of us live here. All girls too," she said and sat down on the couch next to her.
"So did you have a pleasant rest of your day?" She asked, seeming rather curious.
Melanie smiled when Nefertari came back with the glass of water and gently took it from Neffy and took a sip from it.
"Seems like a lot of people for one house." She sat the glass down on the table next to the couch, and shrugged slightly.
"It was alright I guess, I got into an argument with someone. But it's even better now spending the evening with you." She didnt want to really get into the details from what happened with Jackson.
"I'm sorry you got into an argument with someone. May I ask what it was about, or is that too much prying for a first date?" Neffy asked, looking a bit concerned. She looked over Mel, as if examining for wounds or damage.
"Also as for it seeming like a lot of people, I don't mind. I like having Morgan and Az as housemates. They keep things interesting," she said with a small chuckel.
"Lets just say we sort of hit our cars earlier, we got into a bit of a heated argument but it's settled now." Melanie rubbed her arm slightly before changing the subject.
"I bet they do, I have a house to myself, sometimes I enjoy it though some company is always nice as well. How has your day been?" Melanie asked looking into Neffy's eyes.
"Ouch, road rage. Part of the reason I'm glad I don't have a car. I'm sorry dear, that is never fun," Neffy said then paused.
"My day? Well I wouldn't want to bore you with the sorid details of being a mortitian, but well. Some not so good stuff happened earlier, which makes me appreciate being able to spend tonight with you all the more," she said, a smile back on her face.
"No need to apologize, though I wont get my car fixed until I get that check from him and get the money to pay for the damage I did as well." Melanie said as she gently reached out running her hand along Neffy's leg.
"If you want to talk about what happened at work, i'm there for you." Melanie smiled softy.
"Is there anything you would like to do tonight other then dinner?"Neffy's cheeks seemed to get a little darker as Mel ran her hand along Neffy's leg.
"I wouldn't want to turn tonight into a sad evening. I appreciate the offer, but we can talk about my day at work later. As for tonight, dinner sounds like a great place to start and then we can see where we go from there. Sound fair?"Mel could see Neffy blush and smiled before pulling her hand away, and nodded.
"True I wouldnt want to ruin our date. But if you ever do want to talk im always there." Melanie reached over and started to drink more from the glass of water.
"Sounds like a plan, what would you like to talk about?""I do have to ask Mel, where are you from? You don't have the drawl here that everyone native does. It took me a while to get use to it," Neffy said with a laugh.
"And in resposne to your upcoming question, I'm originally from Cairo. I get asked a lot.""When I was human I was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, so I guess I have the northern accent. I have some family down here in the south." Melanie answered finishing up her glass of water setting it back down on the table.
"I've always wanted to go to Egypt, I never left the country honestly.""From what I know, it is nothing like the place I lived in while I was still human. I'd love to go back someday, but I have... ties here. I wouldn't just want to up and leave," Neffy said with a small, almost wistful, smile. She looked up at Mel and blinked.
"Sorry. Pennsylvania huh? Interesting. I have never been. I never really got around to all the states," she said.
"All I have to say is that the winters are horrible, but the summers are really nice I do want to go back there someday to visit my family I just havent gotten around to it I guess." Melanie said shrugging slightly.
"Maybe I can take you up there someday maybe during the summer.""Provided we get a lot of sunscreen before we go," Neffy said with a laugh and then seemed to blush deeper.
"That seems a bit long term. We haven't even technically been on a date yet," she said, looking at Mel, locking eyes with her.
Melanie laughed softly and nodded.
"True, still if you ever want to." Melanie said locking eyes with Neffy as well, though she was curious before asking.
"Just out of curiousity how did you become a vampire? And you dont have to answer if that is way to personal.""Ah, that was a long time ago. To answer that, it happened when I was out at the market one night. I was accosted and before I knew it, someone was biting at my neck. When I woke, the man who changed me informed me that he had intended to make just a simple meal of out me, but for some reason, he chose to change me instead. Lonliness perhaps. It does get... lonely being by yourself for centuries on end. What about you? How did you become a werewolf?" Neffy asked, looking at her.
"I dont think I could ever live that long it does seem to be a very lonely life." Melanie said softly brushing some hair away from her face, closing her eyes for a second remembering the night.
"It was about five years ago a full moon as well, I was at a campsite with a few of my high school and college friends. We drank a lot and did some drugs, it happened pretty quickly I saw a werewolf tackle and attack everyone of my friends.. The next thing I felt were teeth sinking into my shoulder and then I passed out..." Melanie said pulling down the black shoulder of her dress showing Neffy the scar from the werewolf attack that turned her.
"That's rather brutal. I'm sorry that happened to you," Neffy said, running her hand over the scar. She leaned in and gave the scar a soft kiss as well.
"Did... any of your friends... make it?"Melanie blushed slightly feeling Neffy's hand running along the scar and then the warm kiss on it as well.
"Thank you.." Melanie said before pulling the strap back over her shoulder.
"Some did, others ended up getting mangled to death."Melanie answered.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Neffy said and leaned back into the couch.
"My change didn't leave a mark. It's rather hard to leave a scar on a vampire, except with a few exceptions," she said.
Melanie smiled at Neffy rubbing her shoulder slightly she never told anyone about the attack until now.
"I havent told anyone about that night until now, the story was just a pack of wolves attacked the camp." Melanie looked to Neffy.
"What sort of exceptions?" Melanie asked.
Neffy paused.
"How much do you know about other occults?" She asked curiously, looking at Mel.
Melanie thought about it for a moment she knew more about her own kind more then any other.
"Not much really, aside from my own kind I rarely ever communicate with other Occults."Nefertari paused again.
"Well I will say this, anything holy burns like a bitch," she said simply.
Melanie nodded at Neffy and smiled at her.
"I'll be sure not to wear a cross or anything holy for you then." Melanie said jokingly. [color-lightgreen]"So what can you tell me about your roomates?"
"Well Az is a private detective, and Morgan works at a candle and incenseshop." Neffy smiled.
"Other than that, not much else I'm sure I can say. They do like keeping their secrets, like I do," she said, with a sly smile.
Melanie nodded listening to Neffy as she spoke about her roommates.
"They sound like nice people. And I can understand having to keep secrets, I probably have a few but I wont say just yet.""That is just fine with me. Woman has to have a few, right?" Neffy said with a wink and a giggle.
"So, shall we head for dinner soon? As lovely as it is to sit and talk with you, I did promise you food, and you promised me some singing," she said, standing up. She offered her hand to Mel and smiled.
"True we all do have our little secrets we dont want to reveal just yet." Melanie giggled she felt her stomach growl slightly.
"I also remember promising you a drink as well." Melanie looked at Neffy's hand she reached out and gently gave Neffy's hand a kiss before pulling herself up.
Nefertari grinned and pulled Mel in close and looked her right in the eye. "Well then, shall we get this date on the road then?" She asked with a small giggle.
Melanie blushed slightly when Neffy pulled her in close, and leaned in to give her a quick kiss on the lips and stared into her eyes.
"Ive been looking forward to it all day." Melanie winked at Neffy playfully and started to head towards the front door.
