Bambi watched as the Uber invited Cyano to join them on the ship, tad annoying but the damned alien did what he wanted at the end of the day despite their partnership. Looking at Sam, she pulled out another device that looked similar to the phone and began pressing buttons, before putting it down. Starting to beep, she motioned Sam to stand near her
"I wont bite...today, but you're probably gunna want to not stand there, just word to the wise, hell dont move if you want, makes me life much easier." she put the butt of the gun on the ground and leaned on it like a cane, waiting for the device to work.
Oh? The wild woman wishes not to fight? Probably not. But...
"Heh, alright. I'll play your game." He sauntered close to her, still looking carefree as ever, but his left hand was already gripping his scabbard tight, one finger close to the trigger. What sort of gimmick would she show him?
She glanced at the mans unease and it made her smile
"If I was gunna blow you up, I woulda done it a long time ago, I was given a job, so I might as well do it, no use in failing at it and getting scolded. Dont think you know my name however, I am General Bambietta Basterbine, but they call me General Bambi, so as such you can call me the same I suppose. I lead the Ethreals and Quincy army working under our organization." On queue, four large pods seemed to enter the sky and barrel towards their location. As they landed, they hovered to a slow landing and instantly began to put it's landing gear out. A couple moment later, the doors opened and from inside the four pods, seven men/women left the pod and saluted Bambi, before standing in a row and the pods leaving to go back to where ever they came from.
"Alright, looks like we've found ourselves a new place to set up shop, you know the drill, same as the one on our planet, keep it well hidden, to many thing on this world that dont seem friendly" she waved her hand and they dispersed, beginning to move rubble in a 80-90 meter radius out of the way and form an enormous square area. A table and two chairs were placed by a women and Bambi motioned for Sam to follow, sitting down and crossing her legs. Above them, a structure was being made from pure reshi, quickly covering the ground underneath Sam and anyone in the square.
"Well, General Bambi, they call me Sam." He looked upwards, noticing the objects approaching at high speed.
"Just Sam will do"He expected some sort of crash landing, but it seemed those pods was more advanced than they look. Going down to Earth alone without killing those men inside was a remarkable feat, but to be able to fly up back towards wherever they came from? The woman gave orders to the men and women that came out of the pod, clearing the area of rubble. Filled with bloodlust, yet able to hold command. What sort of ideals did they have to be able to gather under this woman?
More and more questioned raced through his mind, but when he saw the table and chairs placed before them, his mind just went blank. Shaking his head, he looked towards the unfamiliar thing being constructed over them, and coating the ground underneath his feet. He can't help but feel uneasy at being in something he does not have knowledge about, though he showed none of it in his demeanour.
"I see." He sat down in the chair opposite Bambi.
"You have fallen for me, and had set up an elaborate date.""Very funny Sam, you should know though, I had a date once, the guy ended up leaving out the window...in pieces, dont suppose you'd want that now do you?" pulling her phone out, she put it on the table and pressed a button on the side, it recording
"This is General Basterbine, I am tasked with questioning Sam?" she looked at him for a last name if he had one.
"Ah, such a pity." He gave an exaggerated sigh, masking the movement of him moving the scabbard slightly under the table.
"Here I thought I'd finally get the girl."It didn't go over his head this was looking to be like an interrogation now, with only a table and two chairs. All they needed now was a lamp to shine light on his face.
"I see, you're that kind of woman, huh? I'm afraid I don't have anything significant to tell you. As for that last part, as I said, just Sam will do."There was no need to mention his full name here after all. Even his moniker had no significance here.
She nodded, around them walls started to form in several different sizes and ways
"It's not about significance, it is simply me wanting to know about you, our organization as much as it seems, is not violent, our goal is to simply learn, so that is what I am doing, learning, plus depending on how you answer such things, I have a proposition for you, sound fair?" she held the gun between her legs and she leaned on the table with her arms.
Not violent? Then what was the shooting about just now? He kept that thought to himself however; he had no real reason to fight here. He still haven't fought Raiden yet.
"Well then, ask away." Sam leaned back against the chair, his left hand finally relaxing.
"Where do you come from and what is it like?" she interlooped her fingers under her chin and watched him.
"
Brazil," He answered simply.
"And it was like anywhere else.""Not quite what I mean, what is your governments like, the social hierarchy, the technological status, I'll be more precise next time.""Don't ask me." He said with amusement.
"I'm just a swordsman wandering around dispensing justice. Things like that? You're better off asking a politician." There was a hint of bitterness in his voice in that last sentence.
"I dont mean anything by these questions, but it is hard to believe you have no idea what you're wearing, or if what you wear is common or not?""Oh these? These aren't anything special. There are better things on the market.""Interesting...well then tell me about yourself, it's obvious you either dont have a last name or full name, or feel the need to not mention it, so you're somewhat interesting, and that sword indicates you have some type of skill with it." around them, the room they were in was some type of huge room with some men and women working on screens of somesort, on the outside, it was quickly turning into a dome of ice looking material.
The room was changing fast. Everything up to now just clicked for him. He didn't want to believe it, but this... doesn't seem to be Earth. Or it was, but not the one he knew. This city was long dead and abandoned, these people doesn't know about his suit, and all this rather advanced tech... Just where did he go and how?
"Like I said, I'm just a wandering swordsman dispensing justice." At least until his right arm was sliced and had to be replaced.
"They just call me Sam. Jetstream Sam.""Were you self-taught? or learned from someone, it's obvious you keep things hidden, so i suppose I'll allow them to stay that way.""I was taught. Now let me ask YOU a question. Where are we?" He leaned forwards on the table.
"Everything I just said could be found somewhere or other, but to be asked such questions... Well, its almost as if you're from another planet."Bambi sat back and shrugged, standing up from the chair, the room was completely finished and it was filled with dozens of screens, tables and chairs, with buttons littered all the way from left to right under the panels
"so it seems you have no idea about what exactly this place this, I assumed that was the case" going to one of the dozen men currently sitting and testing the room "Pull up our world..." on the biggest screen in the center, a planet was shown and then the image was suddenly messed with to show Seireitei
"To first answer your question, I will explain what I am. On the outside I'm sure you assume im simply a human, how old do you reckon I am Sam?" she looked back at him, twirling the gun around her finger.
He stood up as she did, walking over to the big screen, which flickered for a moment before showing a town of sorts. It looked foreign, and that was all he could surmise from the feed alone. Stroking his chin as he contemplated the importance of the image, he turned to her as she asked the question.
"In my eyes you seem to be but in your 20s." Sam spoke without hesitation, his usual grin on his face. His left hand seem to be resting on his sword now, no longer clenched near the trigger."I am in the 100s believe it or not, and that world you see right there? Spirits inhabit it, but not spirits like what you think...show him the current battle unfolding between the Shinigami and our Soldats" panning it showed a battle between a dozen or so what she called quincy firing at what seemed to be Samurai in black garbs, huge energy looking attacks were being thrown from both sides "the ones in black are what we call Shinigami, they are souls of dead people who are suppose to monitor and save lose spirits as well as be a thorn in our side, they are...lets just say we aren't friends with them, the ones in white, are Quincy, which is my..."race" I suppose you could say." She went on to explain what this building was made of and it's importance as well as more about her world and things capable there.
"
There is a lot more, but that will come later, now that is only my world, I will not even begin to explain what the Ethreals place is like, let us just say, there is many different "worlds" out there, worlds placed in...different universes" she looked over to him
"stop me if you aren't following or it's confusing I did just give you a lot of information."He didn't feel interested in the first half of her speech, but with confirmation that his hunch was right somehow made him feel a bit more at ease. After all, Sam didn't know how or why he was here, but with just that information, at least he knows there's hope for him returning to where he came from.
"No, I understand quite well." Only in parts, but enough. Besides, he feared she would launch into an hour long speech if he replied in the negative.
"And? What's your game? I doubt you kept me in here just to question me and regal me with stories of your world." "Well right to the chase it seems, you're more pleasant being that flirty self but so be it, In part is really was to ask questions and gain information, but the other part was an evaluation of sorts i suppose, but i guess there is only one way to really get a full evaluation" tapping her sword on the ground it glowed whitish blue, turning into a Katana about the same size as Sams
"how about a little sparring?" she looked at him smiling friendly.
"Sparring eh?" Amused, he looked towards the woman, holding a strange katana she apparently materialized out of nothing. So he wasn't going to just walk away from this one. Here he was thinking they were getting on so well. She didn't seem to be the type to just let him refuse either.
"Well?" He held out his arms in a wide gesture, as if asking the woman what she was waiting for.
"Show me a good time."The soldats looked at each other and smirked, calling the others as the dome was done and hidden, they all began to suddenly appear inside the main room and they all moved out the way as Bambi walked with the Katana in hand. They stood, leaned all in between murmuring to each other
"You think she'll kill him?""Maybe, think she'll use The Explode?"Bambi looking at her underlings she sighed "Alright so I wont use the power that was demonstrated eariler, simply because I want to evaluate you, not kill you, that being said, we can do best two outta three I suppose that'll let me see what your capable of, sound fair?" she held the katana against her shoulder and watched him.
"Just don't blame me if I take off your head." He drew his sword quickly, holding it out in front of him.
"Alright, lets dance!"His sword glowed an eerie red color, sparks flying off it every now and then. Calmly he circled around the opponent, though he was still wearing his usual grin. Moving quickly, he let out a tentative slash towards his opponent's middle.
Bambi watched how he moved, making mental notes for the evaluation for later, moving her sword, their blades collided and sparks flew, raising an eye brow as they stood arms length apart.
It was enough. He was close enough now. Just mere moments after being parried, his second slash moved much much faster, arcing towards the woman's neck as he stepped in closer. By now it was clear he had abilities far beyond normal humans.
Bambi was impressed with the sudden burst of speed, knowing out of her two options, blocking this one came with much more risk, instead, she used Hirenkyaku and moved blindingly fast out of the way, appearing to his left, coming down with her own side slashing movement.
His eyes widening at the sudden movement of the woman, it was only his instinct and blindingly fast reflexes that made him duck and spin out of the way, a little distance away from the woman. It was quite surprising for someone not a cyborg or wearing an exoskeleton suit.
"Heh, that was fast." Sam held out his arms in a mocking gesture.
"But was that all you had?"Without saying a word Bambi used Hirenkyaku once more, however she almost javelined the sword towards him before using it, appearing next to him, she formed another sword, slashing but instead at the last second she used Hirenkyaku to turn and instead slash at his right side.
Fast movement...
"Ssuh..." He let out his breath slowly, concentrating hard on his feelings. Moving his hand quickly, he deflected a barely seen attack from the front, twisting quickly to block the one from his left. No matter how quickly he moved however, there was no way he could move his sword quickly enough to block the third attack.
"Nngh!" In a split second decision, he raised his scabbard instead, catching the blade on the metallic part near the mouth, cutting his hand slightly. Putting slightly more power into his blade, he spun quickly, slashing quickly towards their neck once again.
Her body almost instinctively used Blut Vene in order to deal with the attack, it did take the force of the blow, but it certainly was painful enough for Bambi to Hirenkyaku away from and put a distance between them, she released Blut and was slightly panting
"Yeah best two outta three is not a good idea, but you've shown more then enough, haven't had that much fun in years and judging from the Soldats, they didn't expect that at all" dissipating the two swords, she rubbed her neck and cracked it.
"So, you've proven you're worth a damn and I was right to want to test that, my next question is more of a proposition if you're willing to hear it."That was exciting to say the least. But alas, fighting her or even killing her would bring nothing to help him go back to where he came from.
"Well, then, thats that." He sheathed his sword carefully, following the sheathing technique he was taught. Perhaps now he can go on his search for the way home.
"If this is about joining your little group, then I refuse. I have no interest here save for returning to the place I came from."Well then I suppose you'll have to take your leave then, but once you leave this place, I can tell you for a fact you wont be able to find your way out of this world, not in your life time. Our organization very literally is a multi-universial organization, but you cut what I was gunna say short. It would take a while, but with some time, we'd probably find your world again before you even could find your first clue and that's the brutal truth, trust me, I'm speaking from personal experience and first hand sight, the last person who said what you just said, died trying to find their way back from natural causes. So you wanna reconsider or stick with what you decided?" she looked at him leaning against the table.
He took but two steps before the woman's words stopped him in his track.
"Oh? And I suppose they'd simply let me waltz back to my world out of the goodness of their heart after I join?""All of us have our reasons for joining, and we ended up staying for different reasons, but if you did your part, then yes, it wouldn't be out of the goodness of "their" hearts, it would be out of you proving your ass enough and me talking to them about it, like i said, it will be a while before we can figure out which universe you come from and that's me being honest." "
I see." He closed his eyes, pondering about the choices laid before him. He could, like he initially planned, go out and look for a way back himself. Food was probably abundant, considering animals seemed to be thriving, so survival wasn't impossible. But he didn't even have the slightest idea what to look for. The nearest most multiversy item he can find? But if he joined this group...
Sam looked towards his hand, where the suit he wore was scratched due to the duel earlier. Clenching his hand, he turned to the woman with a resolute look upon his face.
"Very well. I accept."
