Family |
Rudy Michael Aspen, Late Father (Died at 37, would be 41). A respectable gentleman of a lower middle class family, who was driven to make his family's lives easier. Not one who was fortunate enough to have things served to him on a silver platter, Rudy became a workaholic. Even with his busy schedule, he still tried to make his moments with his family worth remembering. He showed Rhett how a man should treat a woman and what made a man - making sure if he ever left this world his boy was there to keep his mother and sisters strong. Rudy was a construction worker, who worked so hard to better the circumstances of his family, that he forgot about his own well being. Unfortunately, when he was 37 (Rhett being 13 at the time) Rudy had an aneurysm. He overworked to the point that it got him killed. FC: Allen Leech
Stella ReneΓ© Aspen, Mother (38); Hardworking but easily emotionally wounded, Stella is a Preschool teacher at Sunny DayCare Center. She has a soft heart and carries the worries of the world on her shoulders. Her luck with men after Rudy died doesn't help either. On top of that, she is still in love with her dead husband. Rex feels obligated to be the main man in his mother's life so she doesn't waste her life being sad and heartbroken. He wants to make her proud but he also can't help but act out in school occasionally. FC: Jaime King
Summer Denise Aspen, Sister (14); A Niner at BHHS, Summer is literally the biggest pain in Rex's ass. She is boy crazy, superficial, and aspires to become a "Royal" one day. Good luck with that! The Aspens don't have much to their name. Their late dad was loved by many but that doesn't change the fact that it took him awhile to get his family out of poverty. Summer does not mind showing off her body and strives to join the dance team. Her biggest role model is
Audrey Huntsberg, who she thinks is more Queen than
Dominique Saunders. Both Summer and her brother like to work out together. Probably the one thing they can put up with doing in the same room. She can even get her brother to dance with her (and cater to her every whim) because she knows deep down, she has power over him for being one of the main women in his life. Secretly, she really wants to be with Rhett's best friend,
Jackson Drake. FC: Peyton List
Miley ReneΓ© Aspen, Sister (12); Miley is a bit of both her sister and her mother. Summer has influenced her to care about her looks to an unhealthy degree, but her heart is still very loving like their mother. One of the things she looks forward to is her weekly visit to the Children's Hospital with her older brother. The one thing that makes Miley who she is, is how passionate she can be with the things she believes in and how far she would go for others. If one of her friends were crying, she would beg her brother to take her to her friend's house. She also is quite artistic and loves pastels. FC: G Hannelius

In Depth Appearance |
Standing at 5 ft 10 and weighing 174 pounds, Rhett, a mesomorph, looks like the spitting image of his father with light brown hair and jolly enthusiasm in his facial expressions. Since both his parents have blue eyes, it was a no brainer he would have the vast ocean in his orbs as well. His face is either clean shaven or with a 5 O'clock shadow (stubble beard) depending on how often he keeps up with his looks. Like the stereotypical jock, he has an undeniable aggressive, attractive body and appears rough around the edges. His face is devilishly handsome, even if he doesn't mean to be as attractive as he comes across. Easy going and positive, Rhett has a wide grin and awesomely pearl white teeth. With a tall posture and a gentleman attitude (for the most part - he's a kid at heart), the gleam in his gaze reflects the passion that thrives within his eager soul.
In terms of clothing, he owns a bunch of plain tees, hoodies, jeans, one jean jacket, a snazzy navy blue coat that belonged to his father, an assortment of fitted caps, some polo shirts, dress shirts, one fancy suit (gift from his dad), and two fall/winter jackets. Sneakers that can handle his rambunctious and wild tendencies are ideal for him to wear, even when he's being a man of class. Don't worry, his mom forces him to wear dress shoes for events like homecoming. Oh, he has a burnt mark on his leg due to a wild (dumb) experiment with Jackson freshman year.

Dislikes |
- Hate crimes
- People that hurt the ones he cares about.
- People disrespecting his mom and saying they'd "tap that" - that will surely lead to your face getting caved in.
- People that try too hard. Be yourself. Also, if he can, he may comment if a girl is wearing too much make up. Natural beauty is always better.
- Being interrupted from a nap rudely. Nap time is the shit, guys!
- Messing with his food. Food is sacred. He doesn't like getting in fights without a good reason. Ruining his meal is a good reason.
- Letting his impulsive nature get the better of him - where he may scare people. He doesn't like scaring people, especially people he cares about.
- Clowns are weird looking. He prefers comedians over clowns. Perhaps this is an inner fear of his, but he won't ever say he hates clowns.
- Littering - he won't smite you if you do it. He'll just tell you to not do it next time. This also leads to his concerns about pollution, global warming, and animal cruelty.
- Finding out things too late (interpret that however you'd like)
- Nail biters. Why?!?! Use a damn clipper.

- Failing himself as a man

The Scarecrow
When I'm gone, I need you to be the man of the house. If I went to college, maybe I could have gotten a better job, maybe I could have made our lives easier, but I'll make sure before I leave this world, you'll be okay. You have to be. You're my son. I wish I could make your mother stronger, but... it's not that easy.
Not many people are aware that Rhett gets straight A's. It's not something he flaunts, plus when people look at him they think 'Man, this guy takes nothing serious' because he always seems like he's goofing around. Rex is pretty laid back, loves to enjoy life to the max, and may even start some rowdy shit with Jackson. If people were to truly pay attention to him, they'd realize that he is immensely intelligent (potential Engineer level). Perhaps not as wise as he should be, since he will always be a child at heart, but he has a high chance of becoming valedictorian next year - if he wanted to. Unfortunately, Rex has never considered getting more involved in the clubs and activities the school has to offer besides eating a sandwich on the football field benches, strumming his guitar by the big statue of the guy who built the school, or maybe even taking a cat nap under the warm sun on a random patch of grass. He's a fairly simple man, with simple needs and wants.
The Tin Man
Life is going to be hard. Life is going to hurt. Stay positive and remember you'll always be loved. Striving for happiness won't be easy and it will test you... God knows how much it tested me. Love is a strong thing. Be a kind and caring soul and never forget what matters to you. It's not what's in your pocket that matters, it's what's in your heart.
Rhett's passion and drive can be seen as a strength and a weakness. When he desires something, he'll go in full speed ahead. His heart is on his sleeves and he may be one of the most honest boys you'll ever meet. He doesn't want to lose his way and forget what he cares about. He sees pain as something that'll make him grow, even if it'll be hell to deal with. What makes his passion and drive a weakness is a lot of times he becomes 'pigeon hole' minded, where he solely focuses on one thing. Due to his aggressive and impulsive nature, he can come across as intimidating - solely because he cares. At least you'll know he's loyal! To a degree. Like a puppy, if you hang a treat over his head or something he has interest in, he'll completely forget about other things. This is where Rhett can be bit contradictory because yes he may be focused on one thing but if someone brings to the table something he finds beyond intriguing, he can't help but want to jump.
The Lion
The moment you show weakness, people will use that against you. Don't give them the chance. I'm not saying block out people in your life. I'm not saying don't find that special someone to give your heart to wholeheartedly. I'm saying be aware not everyone wants to be your friend. Fight for what you believe in and never give up. Please, don't give up. The stronger you are, the better off you'll be. Be a role model, not a coward.
Every boy aspires to become a strong and powerful man. His father wanted to make sure if he died, he had his little man ready to take care of the household. Rhett's father was a good man but also strict and old fashioned. Rudy passed down his ideals to his son and Rex took it and created his own version of what his father wanted. The terms that stuck out in Rex's mind were: Fearless, tough, and courageous. All which he is, yet not to the level that his father would have wanted, no... Rhett took these traits and ran with it. He's fearless to the point he could get himself killed with some of the crazy stunts he pulls off, he's tough to the point where he doesn't want to show his fears and weaknesses, and he's courageous to the point that if he could, he would want to save as many people as he can - especially those he loves. Being only 16 there is so much Rex needs to learn. He's not perfect. He most definitely sucks at time management and he is still very much a rowdy, little boy, who will punch someone if they offend him. Don't worry. He would never hit a girl. Sure, he's a rowdy boy, but he's still a gentleman too! He's the guy that would pull out your chair on dates, or hold the door for you. His father taught him how to treat a girl properly and that's what he'll do. That being said, if a girl threw something in his food... he wouldn't hit her necessarily, but he may throw a tantrum and possibly dump his milk on her.
The Wizard
The world is filled with temptations beyond our control. You're a dreamer, Rhett. Just know that dreaming may come with a price. You might think you're on the right path, but sometimes you need to take a damn breather. Don't rush, you'll get what you want when the time is right. Ask yourself, are you happy? The paths we take might not always be the right ones and it's up to you to figure out if where you're going is truly worth the risk. Remember who you are. Never forget.
Being a jack of all trades, Rex could easily lose his way since he's well rounded. We all have our hopes, dreams, and aspirations, but some people allow those things to change who they truly are, making them a different person entirely. It doesn't help that they are in Los Angeles, the city of Fallen Angels. Fame, fortune, and a grand reputation may seem appealing at first, but if it takes you away from those you love and changes the genuine person that you are, something isn't right. Aside from not having money or famous parents, Rhett is amicable, smart, and talented. Things that could surely get him noticed at a school like Beverly Hills High. He will always be a dreamer, but the path to achieving such dreams is not quite clear.

History |
Rhett's parents were high school sweethearts. Rudy was the Running Back of his school's football team, while Stella volunteered in soup kitchens, children hospitals, and even went to the nearby elementary school to read to kids. They were paired together for a science lab and Rudy couldn't help but be a mumbling idiot since Stella was absolutely divine, and still is. At the time, she was in a relationship with the Vice President of Student council, so he wasn't going to interfere. However, he was going to be her friend. His kindness was impeccable and soon enough he became her confidant. Before he knew it, she broke up with the asshole he was with to be with him.
Okay, he did feel guilty, but at the same time he got to be with the girl he absolutely adored. He was able to take her to prom and everything. She was still a virgin and he wasn't going to force her to give herself to him until she was ready. He wasn't able to afford to go to college, but she was - or at least she could take out loans, while he couldn't. Stella went to get a Bachelor's degree in Education (her focus being children) at a local college. During her first year, they decided to move in together and were able to spend plenty of time learning each other's flaws and quirks (lucky for them, they both had open minded parents). When she turned 21, she decided to take the initiative and give herself to the love of her life. Who would have expected her first time would lead to Rhett? While she was pregnant, Rudy decided it would be best to marry Stella before she gave birth to their son. And so they did.
Their life was definitely filled with hardship and struggle but they were happy and that's all that mattered. Rudy and Stella Aspen were the prime example of unbreakable love - that once in a life time soulmate experience. Stella had to take online classes while she was on her maternal leave. Having a baby wasn't going to stop her education! Eventually, while raising Rhett with Rudy and two years later having a daughter they named Summer, she received her bachelor's degree in education and became a daycare assistant near immediately. Now she's one of the main faces at Sunny DayCare. Meanwhile, Rudy worked his ass off being the main money provider, a father, and a husband. What really helped their situation was they were loved by many people, who didn't mind helping them out by babysitting. The Aspens were known by quite a few individuals in Los Angeles and that's primarily because they were some of the kindest people anyone ever did meet.
Rhett was a scrawny little boy, who always had his face in a book. He partook in spelling bees, received honors, and was asked to enter math and science competitions. This turned to him getting heavily bullied by a bunch of jealous boys in grade school. It was then he realized being a complete nerd wasn't the best path to take and instead wanted to pay back his bullies for making his mother worried. He started exercising everyday and before anyone knew it, he was fully capable of breaking kids' noses. His home life was simple: help his mother with dinner, watch cartoons with his sisters, wait eagerly for his father to show up at night so they could have bro talks, and strum his guitar.
While his life at school gave him this punk exterior, Rex also became known for being extremely passionate about his beliefs. Without a doubt, Rex was (and still is) a great guy to befriend until you get on his bad side. He doesn't know how to feel about this building reputation (all he is doing is being himself), yet he continues to do what he wants because at the end of the day, it's just him alone in his bedroom. No one expected his dad to die when he was 13 and things changing prior to him attending Beverly Hills High. His mom's smile hides her sadness, his sisters are blossoming into beautiful women (freaking him out, mind you), and it is up to him to be the man of the house. As much as he tries to be everything his mother and sisters needs, Rhett is constantly reminded that he is still a kid and should enjoy himself.
One of his closest buddies at this war zone known as his high school is Jackson. The reason why he loves Jackson as a friend is because the dude is genuine, to a fault. He doesn't lie. Even if he tried, he'd suck at it. Plus, they both enable each other's inner kid - so there's that. Stella isn't going to force her son to join a sport or a club, she wants him to be a kid. She knows very well he holds the weight of the family on his shoulders and that makes her feel shitty as a mother. Her love life is terrible, but that isn't her son's problem. He needs to live and make mistakes. Only then he will grow into a phenomenal man, like his father.
