Ashton is a very quiet individual. Literally. No really she hardly ever speaks, even to close friends. Some people have a hard time deciding if she's mute or just chooses not to speak. That isn't to say she isn't social however. She's quite animated in her movements and usually gets her point across to others by facial expressions and physical motions. Though, she does always carry a boogie board around her neck to write out any words she wants to communicate toward someone. Friendly and outgoing, she's happy to greet with just about anyone. Also a bit adventurous and enjoys wandering about on her down time. Usually, she's eager to please and is a bit naïve at times. A bit of a space cadet, she'll at times turn quite a bit klutzy when she's not focused on anything. Or, just get absolutely lost in the city during her walk-a-bouts. Is absolutely oblivious when it comes to romantic matters. One could fairly say she's a tomboy. She doesn't usually upkeep appearance as she doesn't see much point. Her body doesn't exactly meet the 'womanly attractive' criteria. Too tall, too flat, no hips. Never dresses 'girly' but she does like plushies. That and she would much rather get dirty by playing in rain puddles rather than putting on a dress or makeup.

Bio:
Growing up a orphan, Ashton doesn't have much memory before the age of ten. She's just always lived at the orphanage to her knowledge. She was a pretty quiet child, didn't talk much, but enjoyed exploring. One day, when playing by a bridge, she almost fell off it, but someone saved her. A woman of the military, and it was a start of her wishing to join the army. This woman was named Claire Griffon. Whom soon was kind enough to adopt the lanky child. A beautiful woman with a kind heart, with a bit of a stern way of upbringing, she still did her best to raise Ashton. Ashton ended up wanting to be exactly like Claire. Kind, able to show love to just about anyone. Not romantic... just... a pure emotion. It was hard to explain with words. When she turned the age of eighteen, she went off to follow her dream of following her adoptive mothers footsteps. Serving the armed service for three years, specializing with the sniper rifle. Though she retired and instead decided to train the next two as a firefighter. The army turned out just not to be for her, as she did not want to actually hurt people. She wanted to help them. Only staying so long was because she wanted to make Claire proud. However, one day she received a letter notifying Ashton that Claire passed away due to a accident that caused their apartment to be erupted in flames. Distraught and heartbroken, she felt completely lost, unsure what her purpose was anymore. However, after a few letters Claire had sent her prior, her confidence slowly returned. So she decided to do another physically active job that did help people that didn't exactly involve fighting people. Fighting fire. Deciding that was the best way to share kindness to others like others have shown to her.

When her father died in a tragic accident in a house engulfed in flames, she swore she'd be the greatest firefighter in Shine City and be a Fire Chief like her father.

Party Trick: What a rare occurrence for Nat, she doesn’t usually have much tricks for parties. Her main party talent is her incredible tolerance for alcohol, gaining a rosy appearance on her pale skin but still remaining visibly stable and apparently mentally stable, though who knows how well she pretends not to be drunk, parties being so rare. She can also blow various interesting shapes with clouds of smoke, though she is sickened by most save for the occasional cigar or her favorite brand of cigarillos, Lily Clouds.

Bio: Natille Gerwulf, known to the few close to her as “Nat” by her demand, and to the general public as Venka Morfeo, famous writer of novels portraying a vividly described world alternate to ours, where a young woman finds herself going on adventures, fighting villains, making friends and even falling in love, has a peculiar source for the inspiration of her writing. This source of inspiration is seen as quite different things by different people and groups. For her reader base, it’s the world around her that feeds her colorful imagination, for her psychologist, it comes from her dreams, the reveries of a woman called “broken”, and for Nat herself, it was a reality she once lived.

Seven years prior to the present day, Natille entered a coma following an accident that killed her mother. Her father, a wealthy man who had spent his entire life thus far working so his dream of having a truly happy family with his beloved soulmate of a wife and his adored daughter, was, needless to say, devastated. Rushing to the hospital in the middle of a blizzard, which earned him scars from frostnip, he gave all he had so his daughter could be kept alive, even as his relatives, always scornful of his relationship, warned that he would be pouring his money into a vegetable.

Still, he pressed on, selling all but what he absolutely needed to live so his daughter could sleep soundly, his hope never dying. Left alone by a god he’d rather name the worst of demons, he fell into depression, drinking and nearly committing suicide. Though he reassured himself with the fact that care for Natille was carefully ensured in his will and testament, he could never pull the trigger, torn to shreds by the struggle within him between hope and despair. When he was not visiting his daughter, every moment felt as cold as the blizzard he fought through to first see her face after the accident, but as one year of melancholic slumber became two, then three, then eventually four, Alan Gerwulf never stopped signing checks to the hospital caring for her and fighting for his angel to be kept alive for just a while longer.

Natille awoke five years later, on a warm summer’s day. It would take her two months before she could form coherent sentences again and in the meantime, she cried, sobbed, even wailed and bawled at some points of time. While her father saw it initially as sadness from her mother’s death, a sadness they shared, or even tears of joy at being truly alive again, it was soon discovered that she was crying to be in the coma again. Not because of five years of her life being gone, not because her family was ruined, not because her father had remarried in an attempt to fill in a certain void while she was gone (though she would resent him for this later), but because of a life she had lived while asleep. The specialists taking care of her told her it was simply impossible that she could have vivid, realistic dreams while in a coma, but every day, she wrote in a journal about the incredibly colorful, detailed memories she had of her dream life.

Before she seemingly died and woke up from her coma at the end of a happy life, surrounded by a family she loved more than anything, she had lived a family life not unlike the one her father wanted for himself and his beloveds, with a handsome, strong, special husband, one who she had met during countless adventures she had after she came into the fantastical world she could now remember so intensely, at the age of eighteen. Nat, as her beloved had called her, had fought with a sword, with magic, with her heart, struggled, met many people, made so many friends, and even changed the world before living the rest of her life in peace. Her times were often happy, often sad, sometimes bittersweet, occasionally full of rage, but that rainbow of emotions was what she loved most. She had found everything she could have ever wanted in that world, she did everything she ever wanted and she never wanted for more. Natille cherished the twenty years she believed she had lived in that world so much that she could easily write every moment down.

All of it was gone and for those around her, it was a miracle. What a miracle! She finally woke up! Not a single person understood her distress, no one even sought to understand it, with everyone, even her own father, brushing it aside as side effects from brain damage she must have incurred in the accident. The only one who went as far as accepting them as dreams was a young medical student who would later become her psychologist, the oddly-named Bridge Templeton, however, that didn’t change a thing for Natille, who now firmly insisted she be called “Nat”. She had lost it all, everything she had ever cherished was gone, from the life she had lived in the coma and her life before the accident.

At one time, she had thanked the accident for sending her into a world where her life was even better than the last. Now, she cursed the world for its cruelty, taking both of her lives away, making all her actions be for nothing. A year after her recovery, she decided to move to Shine City, away from the house of her father and his new wife who treated Nat as her own daughter and did her able best to be the mother the girl had lost. Upon the suggestion of the local Dr. Templeton, she had published what she still believed were her own experiences in a novel, which was an astounding success. A serialization prompted the move in order to become closer to a publishing house.

One year has passed since then. Now known throughout the world by her pen name, Venka Morfeo, she continues to write her experiences as the stories of Lynette, a character that mirrors her in every way, living alone in a penthouse apartment, with no lack for material delights, leaving only to get fresh air and fresh food. Life on Earth and not in the world of Soma is seen as useless to her, her only purpose being to leave Lynette’s and her own mark on the world as Venka Morfeo. The perfect world of her slumber pales in comparison to the colors of Shine City to her and her hope is lost.

But has hope died?

Personality: Today, Nat has given up on reality, after she was “killed” in her beloved Soma and brought into the sad plane known as Earth once again, in an uncomfortable, sterile bed. Due to this, she regards the real world with apathy, boredom and even hatred at times. Every experience seems redundant to her, though she is delighted by the rare experience that doesn’t feel like déjà vu. Occasionally she ventures out of her penthouse to look for these experiences, but when this is fruitless, save for physical fitness benefits, she usually retreats back for a drink and to continue working to the achievement of what she sees as her life’s purpose. Love is another thing that seems redundant to her, the memories of the love of her old life still fresh in her mind and not easily forgettable. People are monochrome background characters compared to the colorful, amazing people of Soma and her demeanor reflects this, polite and friendly out of courtesy, but uncaring. It would take true power of the heart to break her out of the prison of her memories, or death. Some small part of Nat still prays that it’ll be the former.

Bio/Personality: Amaya grew up with two extremely busy parents as an only child. Her mother and father owned a consulting company together, so she had a lot of money growing up. She originally started taekwondo because she was alone a lot, and her parents worried about her well being. Eventually she grew to love it and started taking many other forms of martial arts. When Amaya went into college, she wanted to go away from her home and be more adventurous, but she still wanted to live in a larger city, which is why she choose Shine City Academy. She lives in the dorms on campus to get the full college experience (plus she didn't know anyone going into the academy Freshman year). Amaya didn't want to rely on her parent's money, so she got a part time job, which she absolutely loves. Amaya decided to work there because she enjoys traditional Japanese culture and also she thought the uniforms were very pretty on her (not that she'd admit that to anyone). The pay is enough to get her by, with a bit to spare on a good day. In the past couple months, Amaya has been rigerously studying for school, but now that summer break is rapidly approaching, she doesn't really know what to do with herself. She's going to be kicked out of her dorm pretty soon and her roommate Rachel is spending most of her break traveling.

Amaya is a quiet person, especially with strangers. She sometimes gets social anxiety because she's not used to interacting with others. Amaya is very good at handling small children, although she doesn't really like to spend time with them. Once one gets to know Amaya, she can be very kind and gentle. She cares a lot for what little friends she has. She can be silly at times and enjoys laughing with others. However, she does have a limit. If you ever get on her nerves or are rude to her, she is terrifying. Since she is well trained in martial arts, she isn't afraid to hurt others. Especially if you hurt her friends. Amaya finds the way others think interesting. She's also a great listener, but has trouble comforting. Not that she doesn't try her best in doing so. Amaya also has pocrescophobia, or the fear of gaining weight. She has never told anyone this. And while she isn't anorexic or bulimic, she is a health nut. So she works out regularly, and does her best to eat healthy foods. She also makes sure to never measure her weight. While it isn't severe, it still affects her from time to time.

Bio: Devin was originally from Egypt, but his family's living conditions weren't good. Devin went to Shine City Academy on a full ride scholarship. Now he sends money home to his parents and 5 younger siblings.

Note: Diogenes means God-born, or, Heaven-born in Egyptian. (Which seems pretty accurate to me ;)) Also when I saw the picture I decided that he was going to be eye candy since there is a lack of eye candy in this RP.

Sabine likes to build things most people would buy as a single product : air-conditioners, motors, lightbulbs, distillers, etc. Comes with the standard ingenuity of her people's culture.

Among other likes, Sabine has a preference for (extremely) muscular men, as well as money (comes with the die-hard high-rise life), and (quite secretly) substances no one in their right mind should be touching younger women. It's how most of her relationships prior to coming here were touch first, cuddles later. In fact, touch has been more of a commodity than proof of love, and it hasn't garnered any lasting relationships over the years. She's not a jealous woman, by any means.

The smell of jalapenos are unbearable, but for the sake of money and customer satisfaction, she's learned to put up with it.

Bio/Personality: Kyle is a fierce individual, a passionate young man with the determination and confidence to back it up, but with enough understanding to process taken information and give a proper response, often with unexpected wisdom. Because of this his demeanor and low even toned voice can often relax people and a smile could brighten up anyone's day. There are times that he has bouts of anger, but more often than not he'll only get mad if someone really messes up.

Kyle originally came to Japan from America to study in university, after only attending university for a few semesters, it dawned on him that he hated schooling, but came to love the country he'd spent his time in. Kyle was determined to remain in Japan, even filing for a work visa and looking for any business willing to hire him in Shine City, most places unfortunately turned him down, that is until he came upon a little glasses boutique. Inside he met with the owner, a kindly old gentleman, Mr. Hiroshi, who would take Kyle under his wing and teach him all he needed to work in the glasses industry. With a new job and a place to sleep at night, Kyle had found his home.

Since Season 3: His hair has grown out longer, he's regained some of his old confidence and Nori has become a thing of the past for him. He's ready to start anew, and let love into his heart again.

For a man who's as old as he is, most would assume him to retire or live somewhere a bit quieter, but he always says, "I thrive where the youth live, there's a fire in them that I just can't get enough of." He's known to out drink anyone who dares to challenge him, earning him the title of "The Dwarf of Japan".

Hiroshi met Dr. Dajianus some years ago and traveled across Europe with him for several months. Inspired by their travels they started a business together in Shine City, to give those an option of eyewear that was outside their normal culture.

Because of his deep rooted professionalism he doesn't accept shoddy work and will only do things by the book.

Dr. Dajianus was born in the UK and there earned his license and medical degree. It wouldn't be for some time in his service to the industry (and marriage) that he'd be introduced to Mr. Hiroshi. From there, inspired by their travels across Europe they went into a business partnership together and opened "An Eye For Fashion" in Shine City.

Omarsa' on one tag and read 'Venom' on the other. His arms are adorned with scars, a few on his torso and one across his left cheek. His hair is white, a genetic rarity accompanied by red eyes, he is technically classified as an albino; though his skin is not affected.

On his left bicep is a black and white skull wearing a beret with crossed knives behind it.

Bio/Personality:
Ken was born as the oldest of 4 children. Growing up he had to balance between taken care of his siblings and taking care of his parents, namely one parent, his drunken mother. His father died in a commercial plane crash when he was very young. Ken's mother was a barely functioning alcoholic. Kenji began to resent his mother and his home, feeling boxed in and trapped by responsibility. When a recruiter for the armed forces showed up at his high school, he was all too eager to enlist. Ken called his uncle and explained the situation and much to Kenji's relief, his uncle agreed to keep an eye on his family. He went into the armed services at 18.

Ken thrived in the military, being admitted into the Special Forces only a year after enlisting. His youthful and eager demeanor quickly gave way to harsh reality as he deployed. The reality of death, the reality of serving, the reality of killing. He was introduced to the world that most would never see, the poverty ridden streets of back water countries to the corporate high rises of rival nations. He saw the worst of humanity and it never left him.

The years went on and Ken moved up in the military, he earned scars and war stories and tattoos. He learned the ways of the world and it hardened him and made his cynical. 10 years after he enlisted, he retired with an honorable discharge. He then returned home and began traveling the country, looking for a place to call his own. Kenji found Shine City through a job offer from an old war buddy to work for a Private Security Company as a bodyguard. So he traveled to Shine City to start his new life. It has been a few months since Ken arrived in Shine City and he's still adjusting to his mostly civilian life.

Kenji is a polite but very cynical person who prefers to keep to himself. He despises people he thinks are stupid, which would be 75% of the population. Ken is slightly socially awkward, not knowing what to say in certain situations or how to act. He can be especially nervous and awkward when pursuing women romantically, but can also be very charming. He enjoys his work, even if he doesn't like his client. Kenji still struggles adapting to civilian life and occasionally has nightmares about his more disturbing operations. He loves rock 'n' roll and often listens to what many people of his generation would call 'Dad' music. He sometimes has trouble connecting to other people his age, but when he does, he's loyal to a fault.

Profession: Theo works full-time at The Enchanted Florist as cashier and general helping hand. Doing whatever is asked of him be it sweeping the floor to promoting the store in some shameless costume. Part of his work is training to becoming a botanist, so once a week attends class for a day at shine academy.

Bio: Form a young age Theo as had a strong love of nature. As child spent much time as he could at the Enchanted Florist enjoying the large verity of plants they had often talking to the shopkeeper. Until his mother dragged him out. If Theo ever disappeared it was pretty easy to know where he went. As he grew older Theo developed other interest, but plants always remained his passion even if, during his high school years it got Theo picked on a little. However even if he got picked on for it Theo never showed it bothered him, but slowly as time progressed Theo moved away from his passion. By the time he was in his final year had nothing to do with plants only buying them when he was trying to woo a girl or was buying them for his mother on mothers day.

When Theo finished high school he was unsure what to do with himself, so spent the next few years working as a kitchen hand in a small dingy restaurant. It was during this time did his love for plants become reignited as one day on his way home form work, he bumped into the shopkeeper of the Enchanted Florist and ended up having a long conversation. The conversation lead to Theo paying his first visit to his old childhood hang out in a long time. Theo notice during his visit there was a "help wanted" sign hanging front window. It was during the visit he asked about the job. The shopkeeper already aware Theo had a good knowledge of plants, so the shopkeeper offered Theo a paid trial.

Thinking it be a good idea and way out of his current job, so took the offer and for the next three weeks started his trail at his old childhood hang out. After the three weeks he was given the job, Theo feeling happy he was able to enjoy a deeply held passion of his once again and earn a wage to boot. After several months of hard work, the owner of the Florist offered Theo to qualify him as a botanist so he could become a botanist if he wanted. Not willing to waste such a chance Theo jumped on it even if meant a little extra work.



Theo tends to play rough, often in the form of playful punching or for his friends given them crushing hugs. When Theo set his mind on something (e.g. a goal of some sort) he shows a very driven and determined attitude and will do whatever it takes to get that something. This applies to his work persona as well. If he can't get what he wants or it snatched away from him Theo tends to get depressed and be quite difficult to cheer up.

The other 10% of his personalty, is more mellow and thoughtful side to him. Typically this side of him is reserved only those he holds affection for, but if the mood strikes him it shows itself around others. During these times Theo can be quite the romantic around some he "likes" and is easily swayed by his emotions by they good or bad.

Bio/Personality: When Kieran graduated high school, he enlisted into the United States Army. In there Kieran had been transformed from the slacking, stoner, loser that he was into a person that could contribute to society. During his first deployment a year into his service, Kyles unit hit an IED on a civilian road in a third world country, and suffered a serious back injury. Kieran entire spinal cord became sprained, with fractures in his lower spinal cord. But because Kieran had not reported his injury immediately, when it was found out how bad his injury was getting, Kieran was discharged from the Army. Honorably but with no medical benefits. Kieran can still walk and lift and run, but can no longer bend over backwards, bend over forwards for too long, and too much pressure or weight will make his back flare with pain. Kieran moved to Shine City half a year ago for a change. He didn't wish to live in a place where everyone knew him and saw his failure. Kieran wrote mostly while he was in the Army, and when he got out he published his book 'New Voyage', a book about a group of five young adults surviving in a world where reality is always changing. The book sold quite well, and he had amassed a decent following of fans. For the last three months Kieran has been working on his second book 'New Voyage 2' whose title was a work in progress. While Kieran was a writer, Kieran liked to go outside, explore new places, finding new places to nap. Kyle usually brought his laptop or writing pad with him wherever he went, in case inspiration struck.

Name: Shou Matsuoka (Dr./Prof. Matsuoka to his students, or often just "Professor" but he really doesn't mind Shou, or if you happened to call him Mr.)

Appearance:

Has a piercing on his left ear on which he swaps between tiny spike or silver ring earrings. Dark circles aren't unfamiliar to his otherwise pale features, and his eyes are a clear, light, chocolate-brown colour which contrasts heavily with his (dyed) silver hair. In his youth, he used to have a select number of streaks in the mess of his locks that he dyed different colours once every two months. Though you can see a cigarette sticking out of his mouth when he isn't at school, it's replaced for a lollipop when he's on the job. Though oddly enough, it's difficult to tell from far away what it might really be...

Bio/Personality:
Shou grew up in classy Shine City itself as the younger of two sons, so it's hard to find a place or trick or turn within it that the young gentleman doesn't know. Though, admittedly, he only came to learn of more of the city in his later years, having been homeschooled as a child and so finishing his education a couple of years early (due to missing out so many much-coveted summers). He landed his professor job through a mixture of sheer luck, his personal smarts and three rather interesting published works on the behavioural study of animals in captivity. This has led to him being a bit of an eccentric man, though he enjoys his fair share of parties as well, accompanied by a new experimental mixed-drink each time if not for a classic favourite of his: A glass of burgundy wine, for his more mature palette.

He spends his days teaching at the Shine City academy, hoping to inspire his students (though he has to admit again, most of them don't seem quite as much as interested in his lectures) to greatness someday. His personal interests are in the areas of Genetics and Zoology.
His young age is often a cause for playful kidding around by the older members of staff, though also gets him a lot of belittling remarks and unsatisfied glances from time to time. He claims he's just as much a student as anyone else, learning from his seniors whenever he can on their respective areas of expertise, and from his juniors on areas such as 'socialisation in the younger-crowds'.
He owns two dogs, a young Jack Russell Terrier called Jinxie and a larger Border Collie/German Shepherd mix called Romeo. Seeing as he lives by himself in a rather comfortable little house just far enough from the bustling city center to have an open yard, the two dogs get on well and don't get bored or lonely too often (special thanks to the dogs of the lovely old woman who lives next door!)

Shou himself is slightly introverted, preferring to be approached rather than approaching someone, though he has no problem doing the latter. He hardly ever is mentioned to say "he's bored", being a strong believer in finding entertainment in whatever one does. He is compassionate towards animals and, oddly enough, plants as well, having a well-tended garden set up in his backyard. He also possesses intensive knowledge on herbal remedies his mother taught both boys, Shou and Yuusha, when they were young. Being described as 'eccentric' due to his often chuckling at the most inappropriate moments, or his somewhat morbid love for setting things alight, or even his irritability on Thursday evenings when the weekend is so close, yet so far, he garners the positive attentions and affections of many others, particularly the schoolgirls at the academy impressed with just how young he is.
Or maybe they're just taken by his looks and undeniable quiet, mature grace.

As for his personal skills, outside of teaching and aromatherapy, Shou can also play the violin himself, whereas his brother picked up the saxophone when they were children. Though, to make up for it, he thoroughly neglected cooking in his youth and survives on the most basic meals, usually burnt or improper in some way, shape or form, but laden with spices each and every time.

In addition, it's been about four years since his long-term girlfriend and later much-beloved fiancée Alessandra (lovingly 'Alex') has passed now, the victim of a horrendous accident. Shou has mostly come to terms with it, though it isn't something one can recover from easily and he still thinks of her time and again, though still gets easily flustered around pretty women due to not being exposed to quite as much contact since her passing. It undeniably leaves him a little lonelier and 'emptier' than he'd like, and he often is solemn when he admits to that.

Appearance: Long, chestnut brown hair and hazel eyes like leaves in approaching autumn, with golden-brown rings around the pupils. In stature, she is fairly weak, and can be prone to passing out time and time again, and her skin is fairly pale, and she appears tired, when not covering up with makeup, too.

Weight: 52kg (115lbs)

Likes: Observing people, sketching, children and happy families, fountains and the beach, greenery, rivers, koi-fish, youth, optimism, making memories, miracles, hope, flowers (especially white roses), animals of all kinds.

Dislikes: Hospital beds, despair, giving up, people believing themselves to be less than they are, animal cruelty, sunburns, being alone (especially at night), uncertainty.

Bio/Personality: Tsubasa was always a sweet child, and an only child as well, growing up in a nearby community and moving later to Shine City with her parents. She had a cat from in her teenage years that is getting older now, and she is approaching the end of her life as well, named Cocoa. She is modest to a fault, and optimistic in nature, despite her more than pessimist-inducing circumstances. She is warm and kind and hopeful, and though she was considered a quiet child, is more of a social butterfly now than in her past as a child and teenager, seeing the world as a much more beautiful place than she thought before.

Approximately three months ago, Tsubasa was diagnosed with a terminal illness that was, sadly, genetic. It was not unheard of in her family, but still, her parents never expected it to happen to their only daughter. Of course, they were devastated, and because of their bad experiences with the treatments in the case of Tsubasa's grandfather and generally eastern-mindsets and disbelief in emerging western medicine, they opted not to put their child through chemotherapy, despite the fact that it may have increased her life expectancy or not (which explains her long hair, that is now weak and brittle and not as thick and lively as it once was, but still easily reaches her knees.) She is twenty-three years old but the sickness has evident tolls on her which she covers up with make-up, including premature wrinkles and skin that looks deader by the day.

She decided that she would not spend the last of the month(/s?) the doctors had presumed she would live sans treatment indoors and moping, and so, after plenty of therapy from the up-and-coming psychologist, going by Dr. Bridge Templeton, she has come to terms with her illness, and now looks to enjoy life in Shine City for what she never could before. She also hopes to find love in the brief time she has left in the world, and will never, out of stubbornness, open up to just anybody about her illness. As far as she is concerned, she is just a feather from a wing floating in the air current that life has in store for her, and her objective is to touch and influence as many lives as she can along the way, and make as many others happy as she possibly can before she has to go.
She hopes that will be enough to get her into heaven, having been raised in a fairly religious family with strong beliefs about the afterlife and karma, and one's good deeds.

Bio/Personality:
Alessandra was a woman full of life, and her personality remains mirrored in her dog, Jinxie. She was a cheerful and passionate woman, and though she wasn't very loud, she radiated health and vitality, and glowed with an undeniable charisma. She was motherly and caring, compassionate to all living things, and curious to a fault. Easygoing and laid back, it was difficult to engage her in arguments. Her personality could be compared to a fawn's.

Alex was always curious about the ways the world worked, and from a young age, it was apparent to her parents that she would use that curiosity to achieve great things. And she did.
Moving to Shine City from Italy soon after finishing her highschool education to study nuclear physics from the very best, she ended up as a Physics lecturer for Shine City Academy, and though the position did not require her own research, she chose to pursue it anyway, balancing out her 'career' with her personal interests quite well. She worked hard towards the position of professor, and since she was comfortable where she was, she had her life planned around remaining in Shine City and settling down with a family there.

During her time at the academy, she met a certain biology professor, Shou Matsuoka, who at the time was still learning all there was to learn, and the two, despite their generally contrasting personalities, hit it off right away. They dated for the better part of three years before he popped the question, and Alex could not have asked for anything more. She moved in with him officially when he proposed to her, and they even bought a small, comfortable little house on the outskirts of the city, courtesy of their combined salaries.

Unfortunately, things did not go quite as planned. During their engagement, and her working as part of a long-term project to get to the very bottom of an elusive concept in the field of nuclear physics, something very particular happened to one very unsuspecting physicist. She did not know how, or why, or even who, but was caught in the middle of a brutal murder and mauling. Of course, the authorities tried to track the man down but until a very fateful date, little headway had been made. Her fiancé was told, simply, that she was caught in an accident, and spiralling into a depression that left him reeling, he still doubted the truth, until...

On New Year's Eve, The Weatherman became clumsy. This serial killer, responsible for taking the lives of many, particularly young women, was apprehended, and Shou was told the truth about his wife-to-be. It was reconciliation that he wished for, and he had hoped that the knowledge would help him get over her, but he cannot deny that he still finds himself smiling at fond memories of Alex, and he can't shake the sight of her face, wherever he goes, most of the time.

☂ Biography ☂

Some people frown and pity Ruby when he talks about his past if he ever does. Others don't, finding the happiness that lies beneath the surface which allows him to smile today. He is the oldest of 6 siblings all at least 4 years younger than him. His mother was never really around, always coming and going until when he was 10 and she just vanished. He was crushed, even if his mother wasn't a good one, to begin with, she was still a mother. His father was an alcoholic. A narcissistic alcoholic that didn't really understand the difference between right and wrong.

He wouldn't really say that his father raised him and he wouldn't say that he didn't contribute to the person he is today. His father or Auther as he calls him was more of an embodiment of what not to do or be. Since day one he didn't look up to him for anything because looking at the good for nothing man that he tucked into bed at night was like looking at a man that he hoped he would never, ever become.

Auther wasn't a bad guy. Even if he has punched Ruby a few times it wasn't abuse. It was more like teaching him a lesson that he shouldn't talk back to his father. That's why Ruby still doesn't think that he had a depressing past. Auther never laid a hand on the younger ones or his sister that was 3 years younger than him so it was all good. But he did teach him a few things. Simple things like how to pick a lock, throw a baseball bat, and to understand that the bat in the umbrella stand was the killing bat and not to be taken to school.

Over the years, his father finally stopped drinking. This was when he was 17. His father finally started becoming like the father that he had always wanted. But well, it was a bit too late for Ruby. After all, 17 years was a long time and the only relationship that his father could save was with Ruby's younger siblings. But Ruby was still proud, struggling to keep his father on the right track and make sure that he didn't slip because he had already gone through his father quitting alcohol before. It lasted 2 weeks before he was back on track. However, that was before and this is now. Meeting Ruby's father nowadays is terrible for Ruby himself. He can't stand the fact that his father denies not being there for his children before and acts like he was always this perfect dad.

Fast forward to Ruby in his last year of high school. He still hadn't decided what he wanted to become. After all, before, all he did was worry about his siblings as if he was the father. Never worrying about himself. But his grades were still great. He had to make sure to keep them up so that he could teach his siblings after all. That and he could sell test answers on the down low. And one day, it hit him. He was at home with his 5-year-old sister sleeping in his lap after he had read a bedtime story to her. He loved to teach them about the world and ready them for what was going to be thrown at them later. He loved children. The only time he smiled in the past was when he was sure that his siblings were truly happy and that he had done something right.

Moving to shine city was a spur of the moment decision. He could finally move out and his father promised to take care of the kids and they could video chat any day. So, he went to a university and took a 4-year bachelor's degree program. And he got a music degree. Even if he could have become a teacher to the older kids such as middle or high school, he loved little kids more. Now he teaches at a kindergarten and loves his job. The subjects he can teach are reading and music. Currently going to Shine college for a degree to teach math. But as of now, he is teaching math to the young ones. And living in Shine city has been great so far.

Ruby's drive is to be someone that no one will ever say "you're just like your father." Because no matter how much his father changes he doesn't want to be anything like him. Even if he does love him.

What you see isn't always what you get. A positive, risktaking dreamer that has a habit of trying to make those around him happy. Some may see a rebellious bad boy when they see Ruby but it's the complete opposite. Ruby is a sweetheart. A cute guy overall based on his personality. He's used to children and honestly doesn't socialize much with adults. That's probably why he's shyer around adults and completely changes with kids. Ever since he was young he never had the time for friends since he was working 2 jobs at a time and 3 if you counted taking care of the family. He seems more and more like a teacher after you get to know him.

The piercings and all weren't really a rebellious phase thing. He didn't have time for that. They were all done to himself by himself because he wanted to feel it. He has high pain tollerance so it had to be poking a hole in his skin. The stress of everything had started building up and well, kids that are only 15 think that appearance changes things. Besides, he's a fan of earrings. Some would call him a masochist for that reason but he'd never call himself that. He just wanted a wake-up call. Something to tell him that pain didn't matter and to stop stressing because he had things to do.

He doesn't really get angry. You'll notice that if you hang around him enough. He uses stupid words as substitutes for curse words sometimes and he just doesn't get mad. Ruby has done a good job at not losing his temper over the years. He's only gotten angry at the kids once and that was regretful because kids hate it when their teachers get mad at them. Ruby won't be mean to you if you piss him off a little because that's not in his nature. Pushing him to his limit is tough and well, let's just hope you don't.

A mature guy for sure. But he does love to take care of others as well as helping people. Ruby has a habit of worrying over friends and family too much. And if he goes out of his way to help, just accept it because chances are he won't take no for an answer if you're in trouble. Even if it's something small he'll help you out. Doesn't matter if he's known you for one day or he just met you. Trust issues? Not so much since he never had to deal with it. That said if he does fall for someone he may be afraid of them leaving.

Ruby is prone to giving out compliments. After all, kids love it when they receive compliments. It boosts their confidence and they feel even more proud of themselves. So he may just do that to adults as well. Whether it's a girl or boy. He's not trying to charm anyone. Especially since he has no idea about charming people. Ruby didn't have time for friends so how could he have time for a romantic partner? He honestly flushes at a lot of things and gets embarrassed pretty easily. And he pets people way too often since kids. But has never experienced love and he's sure as hell oblivious to others romantic feelings. Though he thinks that he isn't.
