The Land Spirit Pokémon Gender: Genderless
Personality: Tapu Lele is described as guilelessly cruel and with little remorse for lost life. Its cruelty is similar to a child's, born of innocence and a certain disconnection with others. Its nature is Good, that of a protector and giver of life, but its failure to comprehend the values of humans or Pokémon are its downfall.
Ideals: It possesses a vast, but otherworldly and pure intellect that has trouble bringing itself to other's level. Its motives are hard to understand, besides the vague notion that it is a protector of Alola and its home territory of Akala Island. By extension, Tapu Lele could be called a protector of the world, and a threat to any force that seeks to destroy that world.
Biography: Tapu Lele protects Akala Island, as have things been for it for longer than recorded history can remember. It is deeply engraved in the local culture, and worshiped as a sort of guardian spirit of the island, like indeed it seems to be. It is said that in times past, it ended a great war that threatened Alola by spreading its healing scales among the combatants, bringing peace.
Powers: Psi -
Tapu Lele possesses vast psychic abilities that warp the very space around it wherever it goes. It has the power of telepathy, allowing it to glimpse into the minds of others and transmit its thoughts for instantaneous communication across distances.*The surge of psychic power that follows it wherever it goes convolutes the fabric of space, making time and distance weird and amplifying the psychic abilities of those within. Anyone attempting to cross distances quickly in Tapu Lele's presence will quickly fail, finding themselves clumsy and misdirected.
*Powerful Telekinesis and manipulation of psychic forces give Tapu Lele a versatile range of ways of dealing destruction on its enemies.
*Strange energies are at Tapu Lele's beck and call, allowing it to confuse foes and cause unseen havoc on the psyches of its enemies
Fairy Power -
As a virtual force of nature, Tapu Lele is classified as a Fairy Type and has access to some of the powers inherent to that classification. Most notably, it is the natural enemy of all dragons, who are seen to embody destructive forces. It is vulnerable to intense pollution and toxins however, which are seen as harmful to nature.*Immunity to inherent draconic energies. This does not include secondary abilities of dragons, such as breathing fire, but rather the abilities of the dragon's own spirit and form. Powers that utilize dragon souls or the body parts of dragons are effectively null against it.
*Can empower or cleanse friends with mysterious aromas, likely a distillation derived from pure natural energy.
*Harms foes by absorbing their power with its mouth, or by borrowing power from heavenly lunar bodies to smite its foes with a powerful blast.
Guardian of Alola -
Tapu Lele, while unique in the sense that it is the only one of its kind, shares a common role as protector over one of the islands making up the Alola Region. It can unleash the power of Nature's Madness, unique to the Alolan Guardian Spirits. With the help of Z-Power, it can take that ability even one step further and release its true strength, which very little can stand up against.*Tapu Lele derives its sustenance from the sweet fragrance of flowers.
*Capable of producing a kind of magic scale from its body. These scales can heal any harm of the body, but beware coming into contact with too many, as the same power that gives life will also destroy the bodies of those who receive it.
*Innate Flight & Levitation, improved by Tapu Lele's psychic prowess.
