No. a bigger fireball doesnt cancel out a smaller fireball. it just makes chaos.

the point would be moot if the authoress has your knowledge. your "power" level is not necessarily about how much energy you can exert over someone else, but also your authority to do so. to simplify it, consider Greek mythology, or any mythology or pantheon really... You have the original Personifications of time and chaos, which then give birth to the primordial deities such as Gaia and uranus (sky and earth). They in turn give birth to the titans, who then create the gods, who then make the demigods, etc.

No matter how hard Gaia/earth may try, she cannot exert her authority over time.

You the author are outside of all that stuff, above the Personifications of Time and Chaos, etc. Because to our characters, we created time and chaos. However, if you made a character named Bob (for example) who was the creator of all things including Time and Chaos, I can say "Not in my story, he didnt!" because i have more authority and power in my story than you OR Bob.

Samyazaii is akin to the primordial deities, or at the very least the titans. I will just make a list since there are only like 6 or 7 of them.

So if you make a character named Bob and say "he is more powerful than Samy; Bob has the same amount of power/energy/authority as Baal or Abdiel or Michael, and so that nullifies Samy." I can say "No, because in my story/multiverse, your character doesnt exist with that kind of authority. Energy, perhaps, but even then not really because in my story there is the list and I dont see Bob on it at all."

So even if you brought Bob in and made the claim that he was more powerful than Samy (no matter what kinda watch he's wearing), I can just say "you have the energy, but Samy has the authority and in my story, authority IS power, and it means more than energy or a big bag of superpowers."

So again, unless YOU are the Authoress... you cant read D'ren's mind and neither can your character.

However...the Restaurant has its own rules. And since nothing was stated (that im aware of) about the rules of a pantheon of powerful entities, i am assuming that as long as we dont break someone's mythos or god-mode, we keep to our own lore and pantheon, and we dont negatively affect other people's characters without their permission (same as in combat)....unless some kind of collaboration is in order, which i am all about

Also, D'ren has 100 super powers (supernatural and genetic) because he has a device that does the exact same thing your watch does: steals and/or copies every power that comes in his vicinity.

EDIT: PS. Originally, (like...2003 when i first started RPing...) i made D'ren invincible against magic because he never used it and detested it. That was when he was 28 and evil, but not lord of hell. So when i RPed the prequel, and came up with an idea of him being a lord of hell, i made the reason for his being unaffected the fallen angel, and later on as a hero (like at age 30), Samy leaves him and he detests magic because of all the evil it/he caused with it. but the Powers That Be in my pantheon of gods/angels made him invulnerable to magic in a non-evil way.

i hope that makes sense.

I get what you mean. As I don't usually mess around with deity stuff in my stories, your characters would have an edge over the Authoress, anyway, with the "higher authority" as you call it.

Personally, I see us, the authors, as people who open gateways of sorts to other "worlds" for others to see, witness, and enjoy (okay that sounded a bit weird), not literally create them. But if you see it that way, you do you. ^.^

Base case, the Authoress can't affect D'ren. Got it. ^u^

True, you get to keep your lore, but roleplaying is collaborative writing. You can't hold fiercely on to your lore and expect it to go down the same way to everybody else.

I know these kinds of power-conflict will happen with this kind of roleplay, but I think you shouldn't take it too seriously. This is a good-vibe roleplay, ok. Take things in stride. Ask your fellow roleplaying mates to change small mistakes, yeah, but ye don't have to argue details. Someone's one-upping you IC? Just roll with it, one-up back until a GM character put his foot down IC.

Which I realise might not be how everyone likes to play it. In which case, feel free to collaborate and talk things out before the IC fights/duels/whathaveyous. Point: collaborate.

One thing, though: This version of the Restaurant at the End of the Universe is almost nothing like the one in the Hitchhiker series. For one thing, it's not called Milliways, it's just the Restaurant.

Sorry if it was confusing for you. I should have made it more clearer. @Infamous Empath contacted me via PM to ask that I play Yylya. :) He also mentioned I could play her however I wanted as since she was switching Authors, her memory would be wiped. It would be quite a fun shock when Levi sees her. Link. Would you like me to resubmit Yylya's profile?

Goodness, I do hope it's not me... I suppose my character could be construed as literal godmoding but I assure you that's not my intention in the slightest.

i dont have a problem with people playing gods. D'ren is a mortal who is worshiped as a god.

A petite teenage girl with pointed ears and a skin-tone that looked almost pink; she wore a knee-length black skirt and dark blue long-sleeved blouse.

Personality: Naive, worries a lot

History: Originally Infamous' creation. Yylya's ownership was transferred over to SilverRain and has forgotten everything before then.

How did you get here?: In her current existence, Yylya is an avatar of those who have missed their stop, be it a bus stop or train station. Or rather, she is the embodiment of a fear of mine. I've slept past stops only to awaken in a seemingly unknown land. It was only until after I had gotten my bearings that I realised I was one or two stops down. Mind you, this happens a lot - enough to become a frequent dream of mine.

Yylya is the younger me who has traveled to a distant land because she overslept and missed her stop. In her own world though, she is a highschooler from a modern world. Her world is normal like ours, and she is familiar with the fantasy universe. Magic doesn't exist, but there is technology like ours.

In the current Restaurant RP, Levi was with her at the beginning, but she suddenly disappeared, only to re-enter the world as the Current Yylya . The Previous Yylya knew that she was a creation and tried to get Levi to accept and adapt to the fact that he was a creation too.

Hey, folks, I reordered the Situation Notes so the characters are there in order of their seat. So people who are sitting next to each other are put next to each other in the list. The way I imagine it, from John's perspective behind the bar, it goes left to right with Cledwyn at the leftmost and Levi and his buddies at rightmost, but if the positioning isn't important you can imagine it however you like, I suppose.

@Night_ Star: Either I'm missing something or.. err, who's Ga'Ria?

@SilverRain: So uhh, is she "the avatar of those who have missed her stop" or "a younger you"? I'm just a bit confused. It's fine to me either way, though. You can put it in the Characters tab whenever you like.
