I like to think of having a level-capped character as not that great an accomplishment. Think of any given MMO, the majority of content (raids mainly) unlocks after you hit the level cap.

<Snipped quote by vancexentan>

I'm more worried about how I am the only one who gave my Char a username instead of just a normal enough sounding name or some badass name. Like one of the strongest guys in YGGDRASIL name is Touch Me. Touch me...

Like my dudes name is SpookySk3let0ns from the Guild Brique Squadz.

I actually added my username too tho? It's more of a chunni username than a funny one though. I blame the edgyness in my blood.

@Thecrash20My character's name is more or less taken from a runescape god. Some players like funny names that's not my shtick in real life, or in roleplaying. I can't speak for the others. In other words Chad likely took his username from some sort of past player character, or NPC from another game.

@Spanner

I'll leave a quote below on what the wiki says on levels.

In YGGDRASIL, the maximum level cap for a player can reach is 100. A player dying incurred two kinds of losses. The first was the loss of XP and a consequent loss of levels, though that depended on the way in which they were resurrected. This was not a big drawback in YGGDRASIL, because experience points could be regained easily, unlike in other games. Even if one’s levels went down for a while, the loss could be quickly recovered. In addition however, the death of a player character with level lower than 5 will only just revert them back to level 1 at the very least. The second kind of loss on the other hand, is the random dropping of an equipped item.

In other words, whenever a player character dies, it loses 5 levels and randomly drops one's equipment they had on. One could lose one or more pieces of equipment if a dungeon expedition happens to be very difficult. Because of that, people sometimes geared themselves up with second-rate items, the kind they would not mind losing. However, players could not clear the dungeon in one go with second-rate stuff, so they had to use their best equipment. The developers designed the game so that the most valuable gear would be dropped first, which meant that the chances of an important item which was key to the player’s strategy being dropped would greatly increased.

Nevertheless, this penalty can be reduced by using certain revival skills or cash items. When a player revives by skill, it can select the location he or she desires.

Optionally, there were four different methods of resurrection to choose from in exchange for experience points. The first type was on-site resurrection. The second type was resurrection at the entrance of a dungeon. The third type was resurrecting at a nearby safe town. Finally, the fourth type was resurrection at a specified location, such as a guild. On the other hand, NPCs belonging to players or guilds can revive instantly by paying the right amount of gold and fee depending on its level.

In contrast to players, as monsters went up in level, they gained all sorts of special abilities. At this level, they could greatly decrease any damage done to them. While for NPCs created by players that die, they can be resurrected without losing any levels. However, it comes with the cost of using YGGDRASIL gold coins varied from different amounts, depending on the level of that NPC in particular.

In regards to leveling up as a player through killing others, the amount of experience points gained was reduced in accordance to the level difference between both parties, to a minimum of one point.

You lose a max of five levels per death and my character is the tank of the parties he's been a part of. More over one could presume the levels got much harder to get just like any other MMO. It takes literally days, or weeks worth of grinding in my experience to get a few levels in some areas in MMO's the farther it goes. Assuming your character, and the others has very few deaths there would be less set backs. All in all this is our gm @IceHeart's call here. I have no say in the character count simply put I don't like the lack of level diversity.

@vancexentan

Also from the wiki:
In YGGDRASIL, there were three different types of job classes. Base, high and rare. Base job classes can be leveled up to 15, high classes can be leveled up to 10, and rare classes, like World Champion or Eclipse, can only be leveled to 5. In fact, some powerful classes were unlocked by PKing heteromorphs without suffering from any penalty while doing so.

so at most either of your jobs could be level 15

@TheFake I believe that the one who messed up the numbers was @drewccapp tho..? You're correcting the wrong person.

And, for the record, I also made the same remark a few posts ago anyway...

My character's base class is fighter which is fifteen Paladin is high class at 10, and duelist is very basic but only goes up to level 6. I made my character to have a lot of roles. He isn't meant to be momonga, or any super tier character. His job in his teams was basic: Take the damage, deal in in case of a party wipe, and debuff the monster classes that were likely a common thing.

Woops, I thought that @vancexentan was using the quote to defend the stats in some way. Anyway, it's not like there's a need for actual numbers anyway.

Well, added in Sen's alignment, and gave added levels to her classes. Surprisingly, not evil.

@Thecrash20
Heh. Senna was a noob at video games when she started the whole Yggdrasil thing. She thought she had to have a cool sounding username.

On the topic of levels though...the entire purpose of the RP is for the characters to be over-leveled game breaking players...so I'm not sure what the problem is here.

Just lowered my OC's level to 90, just in case @IceHeart does want a few lower-ish level players.

Though if they say level 100s are ok, then i can just switch her back to being level 100 if its ok.

@Rune_AlchemistMy problem is that Momonga's guild is explicitly stated in canon to be one of THE strongest guilds in the whole of the MMO and I feel having a whole cast of characters that rival him to such an extent would not only make guild Einz seem like just another guild. Momonga's guildhall was never successfully invaded. Ever. Which brings the question of why characters like the ones given here haven't shown up to knock on his door and kick them off their pedestal in game. More over if all of us a hundred, and game breaking freaks of nature then what's the challenge? Momonga and crew are fun to watch but when we're placed in their stead who's our enemy? Momonga's forces seem like the only people not in the realm of world class fighters capable of even poking us.

In the canon 1500 players and npc mercs attacked them at once and they were able to repel them all at the eighth floor. Only two other guilds surpassed them at their peek.

@vancexentan

Hm, I can understand that.

Which is why I suggested making Momonga and crew not part of our little RP and cannon. It makes an issue like this absolutely irrelevant and in my opinion actually makes it a lot easier to do things since its an AU, and we don't have to worry about things messing with cannon events.

That said, the characters that we are playing weren't part of the same guild. They were either masters of their own guild, or didn't have an affiliation with any guild long term. So yes, his guild would still be the strongest in this scenario simply because our own characters. Our characters were not some super strong guild - they were scattered and may not have even held any interest in PvP or messing with Ainz. Perhaps that's just my own opinion on things.

As for the challenge...our challenge is exactly the same as Ainz is. Do whatever we want in the world, and find a way to do it. I doubt all of our characters are going to be united in what they want. They could very well end up clashing quite a bit...and I do believe Ice Heart has stated that we may, in fact, run into Momonga in Co through the course of the RP.

So, clear this up for me... Are we all in the same guild or not? What actually is the starting prompt/condition here?

Considering all the bios that have appeared so far, I think the only way to play this is to go with the idea that everyone just joined up with a celebratory guild during the game's final moments. Most people have abandoned the game at this point, knowing it is going the way of the Dodo, so it makes sense that players with no guild mates left around might want to join up with other plays for a final hurrah.

Anyway, I'll be busy for a few days so no OOC for a while.

Finally got a solid concept for my character. She would be a pretty roleplay-heavy character with her pretending to be a "super villager". Her playstyle would be weakening her enemy with debuffs and status effects and then using her beasts to finish them off. She will look and dress more like a villager than an adventurer, using illusions to hide the equipment she's wearing. Also loves farming and cooking, getting a little druid class to help with the former.

Oh very interesting to see another character in a more supportive role similar to my character! Very curious to see how they come out with the aspect of the 'super villager' and the different summons they may have along with illusions~

Just throwing my inretest in here for now. I've read the first page of this thread but haven't read the rest yet. I'll try to get an application up soon.

My initial idea is to be an NPC created by one of the players. An Angel of Law who is essentially a robot/automaton/mecha, whose lawful good nature gets to totalitarian levels of "for the greater good" and "Order above All". Someone with a real stick up their a** and zero-tolerance for what they perceive as evil. They manipulate the universal law, the Law of Universal Gravitation, as their magic of choice, using it to suppress, condemn, and imprison. They see them self as judge, jury, and executioner. Sees the player characters as gods, and therefore, infallible.

Despite being 'good', can really cause trouble when interacting with the world at large
