Reina Mori

A rather innocuous gadget was the first to really to catch Reina's eye. It was a metal-looking belt, separated into a dozen section attached together on a hinge of sorts, so that it could be wrapped around a waist. She reached up to the shelf, taking it down to inspect it closer. Several metal-framed items lined the belt--from gun holsters, to rugged pouches. They were attached to the belt by... nothing? The girl frowned in thought, reaching to pull on one of the pouches.

It wouldn't budge. Frowning deeper, she inspected the belt further, finding a set of small buttons to the right side of it--twice as many as there were objects on the belt. She counted out the buttons, finding the one that would correspond to the pouch she had tried to remove if her theory was right. Pressing the lower button of the set, she shifted the belt in her hands to try taking the pouch again, and was met with success.

Interesting... So the items and belt were magnetized in a way that could be adjusted through the buttons... Was that really it?

Reina glanced up, seeing that the shelf she had taken the belt from was made of metal as well. After a confused pause, she held the metal-frame of the pouch to the shelf... and felt nothing. Not attraction or repulsion. Curiosity growing, she then held the belt up to the shelf to find the same thing. Finally, she brought the pouch back towards the belt, feeling the obvious attraction between the two.

So it was... some kind of selective magnetization? Was that even possible? She paused, frowning again. She wished her quirk could be like that--the push and pull of it only affecting specific things she wished it to. That way, even she would easily be able to keep it under control. It would have saved her a lot of troubles...

With a quiet sigh, she placed the belt back. While it seemed convenient, she didn't really have a use for it at the moment.

The girl glanced around some more, this time towards the other students, to see if she could get any ideas from what they were doing. Mamoru and another girl she wasn't yet aquatinted with were doing training simulations. Reina would have to wait until she actually had something in her hands to train with.

Takeshi was wielding a sword, going through motions that appeared extremely practiced and clean. Reina didn't know the first thing about it all, but it looked impressive. Swords were heroic... right? More than guns, at least. But... they seemed to require a lot of practice. She'd probably end up cutting herself or someone else, or forgetting her quirk for a moment and skewering someone with the sword as it flew out of her hands.

She paused, realizing dumbly that beginners very likely used blunt swords of some kind. And that would probably be better for her in the long run--she didn't really want to be chopping villain heads off.

The dark-haired girl looked away from Takeshi's display before it appeared to others that she was staring, and went back to futilely looking for something that clicked in some way with her.

Several moments later, Reina was pulled out of her deep thought by Takeshi's voice. She jumped slightly to her embarrassment, but at least managed not to make any sort of scream. With the faintest blush, she glanced between Takeshi's and the shelves around her, shaking her head slightly.

"Not really..." she said. She didn't want to leave it at that. A day ago, she would have, but she had to make an effort to be tolerable to be around. She opened her mouth, not really thinking her words through in her mild panic to say something. "...Is there anything like... like a truck door?..." She paused, a small frown on her lips in exasperation at herself.

Stupid.

Sure, that was sort of what she was looking for, but there were far better ways to describe that. 'Shield,' for one. Reina remembered Mamoru's quick mention that if she had found the pink-haired girl's shield during the training exercise, she could have done even more damage.

Reina simply made sure to avoid looking at anyone that may have heard her, pushing her hands deeper in her pockets as she did what she could to hide her reddening cheeks from the world.

Kasuke Mina

Mina stared at him for a second, then rolled her eyes and checked that the rice was still in the pot, on the element, on the heat, like she had left it. It was. "Dinner and a show, am I? I'm not even going to dignify that with a proper response." Even show, she heeded his instructions, and set to work mixing the mackerel and mayo in a small bowl. She didn't wait or ask for permission to do this. What possible reason could you have besides saving on the washing up for not using a bowl to mix things?

As she was busy with this, she actually looked around the class. Donny and Roy both trying to get the awkward lonely girl to join their groups. She knew both boys well enough to know they meant well, but did it ever occur to you that she might prefer working with herself to now having two boys fighting over her. Not every girl likes a lot of attention.

She also, in her scan of the room, caught Kaida's eye, who was looking at her. Yeah that's right. Jett chose me. I didn't even do anything to influence that. Keep turning your pretty neck until you're not looking at me. Maybe if you turn it enough, you'll be able to see that Roy likes you too. Every boy in the school will probably like you if you give them enough time. Donny will definitely like you.

The mackerel and mayo well mixed, Mina now set to deseed some pickled plums. She was glad of the opportunity to stab something with a sharp object, and gleefully cut them all in half to remove the seeds. Again, she wasn't going to ask for instruction here. You couldn't get the seed out any other way. With the mackerel and mayo mixed, and the plums deseeded, she put her knife down on the chopping board and looked back to Jett.

"Alright. That's all done. Now what?"

ACION

Takeshi, huh?

He'll keep in mind the name.

Afterwards, Arsenal then led the entire room to a huge complex for training purposes, composing of many different room, including a sparring room, an armory, a VR simulator room, and a gymnasium. The school had prety much everything they needed. He'd expect no less from a top school in the city.

Acion was observing the complex in awe as Takeshi inquired if he had trained with any sort of weapon. Well...

"I don't usually train with a weapon, although I have been through a few clashes with swords and melee weapons back in middle school. For all these years I have been practicing to master my own art of quirk usage, and aerobatics. I'm still continuing to perfect it, though now I will focus more on the other necessary skills of becoming a hero. What it is, you should know..."

That was what other heroes like Mina or Dulga is better than him: equipment usage and raw strength. For now, his flexibility, techniques and agility had been reaping fruits for him, but becoming a hero with that just wasn't enough.

Turning away from Takeshi, Acion glanced around the room, again. The thing catching his attention immediately was the armory, containing all kinds of weapons. From the dangerous high explosive grenades, to the rarest of melee weapons, this school had everything. Acion payed specific attention to the gun section, something in which he had kept discreetly in mind. He came through the pistol section, the SMG section, until he reached the MG section, composed of many machine guns of all kinds, both light and heavy. Acion had weighted a few of these himself, and most weighted nearly 10kg. He could carry them just fine, but recoil was a different story. Acion had little experience, if not none, with guns, so if he didn't position it right, it would kick him back in the face...hard.

But as he was shaking his head at these powerful but incompatible guns, his eyes widened a little bit as he saw one. One distincted from the rest of the guns: LSAT light machine gun. It was half as heavy as the rest of these guns, and it was described to be light, obviously, flexible, agile and most importantly, had low-recoil. That was the thing: low-recoil. Something that Acion prioritized, due to the fact that his fighting style was less like an angelic swordsman, more like a steel fighter plane. He's make sure to keep an eye out for this one, as soon as he was properly instructed and permitted to get access to the firearm sections.

Mamoru Akasha

As Mamoru looked for what sort of setting she should use, she also decided that she needed to try more stuff. The tonfa was fun, but she wanted to be versed in more weapons than just an electrical beat stick. So Mamoru headed back to the armory and looked for more gadgets and gear to try out. The first thing on her list was something all good heroes need: Bandoliers! Whether it had bullets, grenades, or your cellphone, a set of belts with straps to hold your stuff was always important. Mamoru found herself a very wellmade bandolier with pockets and straps for anything, be it a sheath, holster, some rope, or whatever. She chose a belt configuration as she had some difficulty fitting the shoulder strap comfortable over her chest.

Once equipped with her stylish new belt Mamoru went to look for some more stuff to use. One item she had her eyes was some sort of a grappling hook. Mamoru was fast but she could only run so far. If she had a grappling hook then she could grab ledges and stuff and get to vantage points she normally couldn’t. Mamoru spotted the new girl, Yukari, using something like that in her obstacle area. ”Oh, that’s cool! I wonder what she’s using?” Mamoru did eventually find something possibly even better: it was a large mechanical gauntlet with a grappling hook launcher built into the side. It could shoot up to forty meters and hook onto small ledges or wrap around objects and hook onto it’s cord. With a press of the button on the gauntlet the hooks would retract to allow for reeling, and another button could be used to pull one self and the target towards each other. It seemed complicated, but exactly the sort of thing Mamoru needed. No permission lock either.

Next up was some utility bombs. Mamoru had a good arm but she was a crappy gunner so she preferred things that required less precision and more volume. While Mamoru wasn’t allowed to take most of the grenades there were a few other gadgets that she could take and piqued Mamoru’s interest. One was an Cement Bomb; it exploded into a very light, very liquidy substance that quickly hardens when exposed to oxygen. Then the liquid would shrink and grow heavy, which could be used to trap enemies and weigh them down. Another was a humble smoke grenade. It created a thick, choking smoke that was nearly impossible to see through and utterly horrible to smell, so anyone who tried to breath it in was going to get sick. Mask recommended. Mamoru made a mental note to find herself a mask too. The last gadget bomb that really interested Mamoru even though it was permission locked, the float mine. Apparently it was a sort of device you put onto a grenade, it caused the grenade to float into place and would explode under specific conditions. It could be priority, timed, remotely triggered, or even triggered from keywords. Very neat and Mamoru could imagine using them for various traps.

Getting herself a few cement bombs Mamoru went to find more weapons she could use. Loads of swords and guns but she wasn’t interested in either of those. Swords were fun but people always talked about how much time one needs to dedicated into being good with them, and Mamoru just didn’t have that sort of time. Besides why spend ten years learning how to cut someone with a katana when you could do just as much damage with a heavy pipe? Mamoru could see the appeal but she had to consider something more practical. Like a spear. Which was what Mamoru found when she spied a weapon called a Sasumata. A double-prong fork-like weapon not meant so much for stabbing people as much as catching their limbs and disarming them of their weapons and equipment. There were actually other varieties of sasumata’s Mamoru could choose from, from bladed ones and high tech ones that were more like claws on sticks. Many to choose from, but Mamoru picked a classic looking one with all the spikes and such on it.

There was a video of some techniques Mamoru could use a Sasumata for but she felt she’d learn better with practice than observation. Besides that there was still one more weapon Mamoru wanted to find and she found it near the more primitive section of the armory. At first she thought it was a flail but the weapon she found was actually the bolas. Like lassos but without the extra rope, Mamoru could hurl these at a bad guy to entangle their legs or just break something, since they head weighted heads at the end of the rope. Sounds right up Mamoru’s alley. When selecting a bolas she picked out two of them which were made almost entirely out of a lightweight metal alloy. While they were still weighty enough to cause damage and trip people up Mamoru chose the metal ones because they would be more resistant to slashing and breaking. Mamoru imagined that her bolas would be useless against someone with a knife or the strength to just rip them apart.

With two grenades, two bolas, the grappling gauntlet, the tonfa she already had, and a Sasumata, Mamoru felt ready to take on the training room again. She was thinking that this time she’d go for ten robots though not all at once. They’d come in waves of three over a ten minute time span, just to test her ability to handle all of them. Of course she’d have them armed too. In fact she wanted to upgrade their weapons to something a bit more automatic just to give them a sporting chance. Along the way back she spotted Reina chatting with the guy she wasn’t familiar with, Yoshino if she had remembered correctly. He had a sword with him so she guessed he must be a sword fighter. Forgetting about training for a moment Mamoru swaggered over to the two while loudly introducing herself once again. ”Mamoru incoming! Hiya Rei-chan! And uh... Kagemi-san? I’m sorry I forgot your last name. I know you’re Yoshino-san and stuff but uh... Anyways what’s up guys?”

Mamoru smiled and looked at the two, looking a bit silly with all the weapons she had. She looked more like a poor cosplayer for some fantasy event than a super hero. "I saw you doing moves back there, that was pretty cool! You musta been trained since a kid eh? I never really got a chance for something like that so I'm just trying to find something that works for me. What about you Rei-chan? With a power like yours you could probably do some damage with boomerangs or other thrown weapons. Oh or maybe you could do like, floating barriers around yourself. Get some flying shields to protect your from ranged attacks. I wonder if my Aegis would work with your powers?" As Mamoru spoke she slowly started leaning towards Reina due to her gravity powers, not that Mamoru realized nor cared. Of course she'd gravitate to her friend; that was just science.

Haruka Sanegeyama

Haruka smiled in return when Donny shook her hand. It made her feel slightly at ease that she wasn't the only one in class who had some trouble with socializing. Donny's stuttering was all too familiar a feeling, but the fact that he had worked up courage to approach her and include her was nice. "It's, uh, s'nice to meet you, Yang-San." When the handshake ended, she immediately put her hands back together, as was habit when doing something that made her a little nervous. At the very least, she was maintaining most of her composure, despite the very noticeable flush of pink on her pale cheeks.

At Donny's request, Haruka nodded. "Oh, y-yeah! I can do that," When he went to talk to someone else, Haruka went to the station with a goal in mind. "Heating water is easy. Even I can do that. Heck, I've done that. This won't be too bad. Determination flowed through her veins, and as she approached the table, so did the burning spirit of oncoming success. There was literally no way she could mess this up, aside from maybe splashing water on herself, but then she'd be able to just take the uniform's jacket off. It was foolproof, quite literally.

Upon arriving at the workstation, she looked everything that he had set up over. The steamer looked interesting, but she had not even the slightest clue how to use such a thing, so she didn't touch it. "Best to leave the complicated stuff to Donny," she thought, taking the pot and scooting it toward the sink. It was an older piece, like something she'd expect grandparents to own, passed down through generations.

As she set the pot beneath the sink spout, one hand turned on the water, and watching it flow out of the tap into the pot was perhaps the most intense feeling she'd ever had while filling up a pot. She was doing it, and hadn't messed it up yet. She turned off the sink before removing the pot - very important to reduce splash incidents - and transferred it to the stovetop on the work station.

"Okay, here we go," She thought to herself, taking hold of the burner's knob. She pushed it in and turned it, and as the ignition clicked, she balled her other fist and braced herself for the oncoming flame. The gas was turned to flame after a couple clicks, and she then adjusted it to high-medium heat and released it. Success.

"I did it!" she thought aloud, pumping her fist victoriously. It took a few seconds to register that she'd said it aloud, and once she did, she reeled and just about died on the spot. Hopefully everyone else was too busy with their own work to notice.

Hero Gear Classroom > Gymnasium

The plain looking boy--who seemed to have some kind of purple ball of light floating around him, before it disappeared into his backpack--added onto Kenichi's answer, but the bluenette had no idea what a Faraday Cage was or how it could interact with an EMP. Mamoru asked if the pulse would be harmless to a person, and Kenichi realized he didn't know the answer to that either. People's brains and hearts emitted electricity to some extent, didn't they? Wasn't that why things like pacemakers and MRI scans existed? The blind girl's answer was interesting, though--she could even tell from its sound that it wasn't armed. Of course, it obviously wouldn't be armed in the classroom, Kenichi realized. But still, if her other senses were that developed, she might not need a Quirk to get around.

But Arsenal explained that the smaller, round device wasn't a true EMP; the real thing was longer and more oblong. The small one was an electroshock grenade. It could fry electronics too, but the primary purpose of its discharge was to shock an enemy into submission. If it was that powerful, though, it probably had a much shorter range of effect, so it wouldn't be as useful as an EMP when disabling technology unless there was something clustered in a tight area. Kenichi sighed. Even when he thought he knew what he was talking about, other folks knew more and on top of that he turned out to be wrong.

Brainy types will always beat dumb brawn.

But before he could get depressed again, two latecomers entered and drew his attention. He recognized the gloomy girl from 1-A, but didn't know the other guy. They had...an odd similarity between them, for some reason. Arsenal launched into the syllabus in more detail and Kenichi tried to remember everything he said--after all, the weapons still made him nervous even if they were under strict supervision. All it would take was something like that grenade going off by accident...

"We have just lost contact with Yoshida-san's crew; we have incoming reports that the explosion you saw there was a roadside IED...We want to assure our audience, and Yoshida-san's family, that we're doing everything we can--"

As Arsenal moved the class to the gymnasium, however, Kenichi once again marveled at the state of the art systems Komei had. It wasn't quite on the level of that fake city UA had set up for their entrance exams, but still it was clear this was a top of the line establishment. Everyone else was equally impressed, and unlike Kenichi the numerous gadgets didn't seem to make them nervous at all. Mamoru, and then the blind girl and the other one, all headed into the simulation training with robots. Reina, Acion, and that other new guy were hanging out in the armory. The blank-looking fellow was asking Arsenal about the firearms.

Kenichi looked over at the weight racks. If nothing else, he could do that--Squatz n' Oatz, as they said. That was really the only thing he could do to improve his Quirk, out of all this available equipment...But L Guardian and the others had said he needed to use his brain, not just his muscles. Kenichi rubbed his right shoulder--the same arm he'd nearly shattered fighting against Fumika--self-consciously. Then, setting his frowning face into a more serious line, he too approached Arsenal.

"Arsenal-sensei, I'm not really interested in using the weapons...but could you teach me how to stop them? Or dodge them?" His brow furrowed, giving his eyes an intense look as he subconsciously called those memories back.

His wails were so loud--because his Quirk had kicked in by now, of course--that the entire apartment complex could hear it. His mother did her best to comfort him, but he didn't want her. He wanted to see his father. But his father was a thousand and more miles away, being air-lifted back to a base where the best they might have would be field medics. Where they had to work in hot tents being buffeted by sandstorms. Where he couldn't be no matter how fast he ran.

"Bullets, blades...especially bombs." He continued to Arsenal. "I wanna be able to put the Villain in the ground before he can even put his hand on them." He didn't notice that when he said put them in the ground that his fists had clenched so tightly his knuckles were white.

Deciding not to to go back to the cafeteria, Luelle explored the school grounds a little bit to find her next class, which was cooking. The thought of the class made her beam with happiness. She loved cooking with a passion and was always the primary cooker back in her home in Alaska.

”Hmm, I wonder what kind of dishes I will learn today.” she muttered. Shrugging it to the back of her mind, she continued her exploration until she managed to find it. By this time, it was almost time for class again and she entered the room. Seeing some of the students eyes on her, she flushed in embarrassment and stood in the back waiting to be assigned to a kitchen.

Standing straighter, she listened to what the sensei had to say and blinked. Onigiri eh. Luelle was somewhat familiar with the word, as she studied japanese in high school and even some pictures of the dish, but she never actually tried to make it. She bit her lip to hold down her excitement about the dish and waited until the students began to disperse into small groups of two or three.

Having no idea who to go to since she was new and all, she began to look around for anyone that didn’t have a partner and saw one girl, a blonde haired girl with blue eyes that were behind oval lenses glasses that actually looked adorable on her, though she was talking to two other students. Approaching the three slowly, she waited until they noticed her presence before speaking.

”Hello...my name is Luelle and I am looking for a partner for this class. Everyone else is pretty much partnered up” she said rubbing the back of her head.

To be perfectly honest, Fumika had never made riceballs before. In fact, she'd never really cooked much of anything before. This wasn't because she couldn't do so, or didn't know how - she'd seen people cook enough that she had more than a basic idea of the necessary steps. It was just that, quite simply, she'd never really had to or thought about doing so before. So, stored as it was in the very back of her mind, it took her a few moments and a few sidelong glances at Jett to remember what she was supposed to be doing and copy any steps she wasn't clear on from him and the shiny girl. As such, she had only just rather clumsily set about the arduous task of figuring out what tools and utensils she needed, where the rice was, and how to make her copy move and help her without knocking everything she'd just taken out off of the table, when she was suddenly tapped on the shoulder. She started, instinctively taking a step forward and turning around as her copy abruptly froze up, coincidentally between her and the one who'd just touched her, as if Fumika was hiding behind herself. This thus presented the rather odd spectacle of Fumika's now emerald green and glowing eyes, plus her sharply upright ahoge peering over the top of the fluffy crest of her own copy's head, while said copy stared blankly into the middle distance.

"Motome-san, don't forget your apron." She blinked as he held out an apron towards her. Right, people who were cooking were supposed to wear aprons, like the pink one she'd had as a child. She nodded, and her copy reached out, took the apron, and then set about tying it around her while she continued staring at Donny, only shooting occasional glances at her projected self to make sure it didn't go intangible and drop what it was holding.

"I thought the empty man would be scary, but he's actually nice," She murmured to herself, once again forgetting she was speaking out loud. "Well, I guess he's not really empty... maybe he's squishy? But how does he know my name? The video? ...But what was...? Let's see... I think the mean Yoshida called him... Donny Yang-? Oh. Partner?"

Her train of thought was cut off as she finally processed his next words. A partner...? Didn't he see that she already had made one? She poked her copy demonstratively.

"I have a partner, though," She objected innocently, cocking her head quizzically to the side as if she didn't understand. Her copy stepped back, turned around, and stood directly in front of her, and she once more wrapped her arms around it and snuggled against its soft, fluffy hair. "Fumika's partner is also Fumika, see?"

Needless to say, he didn't seem to. Neither did the strange blonde boy who approached only moments later, asking similar questions. It took her a moment to process this before it finally struck her. Did they want her to join their groups? There must have been some kind of mistake. If she joined them, then they'd have three people, not two. And wouldn't she get in the way? But they both seemed so nice... Of course, she didn't mind joining if they really wanted her to, but then who was she supposed to join? If she accepted one she'd have to refuse the other... She looked back and forth between them in increasing surprise, mounting disbelief, and ever-rising confusion, fretting and fussing alternatively with her own bangs and with those of her copy as she tried to come up with an answer. Faint sparks darted between the ends of her hair, causing it to frizz and stick out at wild angles as her ahoge wobbled back and forth like the rocking of an unsteady boat.

"Umm, if you want Fumika- Erm, I mean, if you want me to join you then I don't mind... But... um... It's hard for me to be in two groups at once..." She hung her head, looking sheepishly at Roy as if asking for forgiveness. Since he'd asked second, maybe he'd understand? If only there was some way she could... No, there was a way... This problem was the opposite of her usual one, but that just meant she needed to apply the opposite solution!

"I know!" She declared suddenly, pounding a fist in her open palm, which in turn rested on top of her copy's head. It wobbled slightly, but otherwise seemed completely, stoically nonplussed by the impact. "If you want a Fumika too, you could have this one?" She motioned sheepishly to her smaller copy, which in turn motioned to itself. "It's not very useful, though, because it keeps knocking things over..." She admitted. She might have gone on advocating this approach, but then, against all odds, a third person arrived and also asked for somebody to partner up!

"Ah, I guess I could make another one if you really need one...! But, umm, I don't have much energy left, so I might pass out if I try to manage two... And they'll probably knock everything over..." But at the same time, they were all nice enough to ask her to join them, so how could she say no...? Ah, this was so difficult! Why was this all happening so fast? Why now, all of a sudden?

Dulga Tarata

Dulga went back into the armory with her guns slung over her shoulder inside a canvas gun bag. She liked the rubber bullets, they didn't have too much of a difference in performance compared to the bullets she was used to, but she didn't really find much use from the flares. If she didn't know any better she thought that the flares in her shotgun didn't have any kick at all. She knew that she wasn't able to eliminate any of the targets when she shot them with the flares anyways. So she went back to the armory to find a different type of ammo for her shogun. She knew that shotguns had beanbag ammo for non-lethal purposes, though she also heard that they had extremely poor range beyond twenty meters. While most people think that shotguns needed to be used at only point-blank, Dulga preferred to keep her distance at around fifty meters. And if her bullet couldn't travel that far she didn't want it.

Once more it looked like Dulga was going to need to get rubber bullets again. "This is fine. Simple and practical, just how I like it." There was something else that rubber bullets would be better at than metal ones anyways. It was a technique that her mother was infamous for when she was still a bounty hunter, and one that Dulga wanted to master. If Dulga didn't know any better she'd say that this technique was actually her mother's quirk, but Dulga was able to do a limited version of the same attack. Ordering some rubber bullets for her shotgun Dulga went back to the gun range to practice. Unlike before Dulga set the target to just be a single hanging target without any obstructions. Once Dulga's shotgun was loaded and ready she took aim. This time however instead of aiming directly at the target she ended up shooting the ground. The first thing she shot the ground and nothing really happened. The second time she fired the bullet ricocheted and hit the target. And then Dulga did that again. And again. And again until she ran out of ammo and had another target brought out.

Once Dulga got a hang of her new bullets she brought out both guns and made more obstacles blocking her target. Each time Dulga didn't bother aiming directly at the target no matter how easy or difficult it would've been, she always made her shots bounce off the surface of the wall or floor to hit her target. Unlike before Dulga also missed a lot. "Tch... Pathetic." After going through twenty targets, Dulga had fired forty rounds from her sniper rifle and thirty from her shotgun. Out of the seventy total, only thirty-three actually managed to bounce off and hit the target. "Pathetic." Dulga put her guns back into the hard plastic case and walked out of the shooting range. "Just pathetic."

Donny Yang

Donny’s mouth was agape as the smaller Fumika dressed the real Fumika with the apron. He decided not to question it. Then Fumika started thinking out loud, calling him the “Empty Man”. Donny wasn’t sure what to say about that. Of all the words to describe him “empty” wasn’t a common one. Unless she meant emotionally or something, and even then Donny had a lot of pent up feelings he doesn’t talk about. ”Y-Yeah, I’m Donny.” He said like an idiot as Fumika still cowered behind her copy. Her answer to Donny’s question made him frown. While he wasn’t sure what to make of Fumika, the way she called her copy her partner just made him feel worse about what he was doing. He understood it, not just why she would do this, but how it felt. Donny’s own imaginary friends has both enabled him to wallow in his own despair as well as encouraged him to do things he normally wouldn’t do by himself. Even though he totally is doing it by himself, and the only person who doesn’t think so is Donny.

This was one of those situations that Donny wanted to solve so he could fix his own problem. But it also came with it’s own difficulty, namely the fact that if Donny actually knew how to fix this problem, he himself wouldn’t have any issues with it either. And right now he was just in a strange state of denial about his problems denying his problems. Donny just stood there quietly trying to process everything when Roy came over asking if there was anything wrong. Apparently he wanted Fumika as a partner too, even though he already chose Kaida. Roy likely had the same thoughts as Donny did when he saw Fumika’s copy and took pity on her. This just made Donny feel more awkward however as he knew his intentions weren’t entirely selfless nor considerate. While he felt a sense of loneliness from Fumika due to her actions, perhaps she didn’t feel the same. Maybe this was just how she dealt with things. Who was Donny to say that was right or wrong? Fumika herself even seemed to try and appease the two boys, offering to go with one group while sending her copy with the other.

When another student, a very short girl who Donny hasn’t seen before, also came up and was looking for a partner, Donny decided to use this opportunity to excuse himself. ”Uh… It’s fine, Motome-san. I just w-w-wanted to give you an apron. Um… If you need anything, I-I-I’ll be over t-there.” Donny pointed at the workstation Haruka was at before bowing his head and returning to cooking. On the inside though he was beating himself up for how poorly he handled that situation. All he really did was go over and give Fumika an apron, which went to the wrong person, and couldn’t even address the whole “working by yourself” thing. So much of a hero he was.

Returning to Hakura, Donny was in a bit of a dour mood. However he tried not to let his negativity affect his partner so he put on a bit of a forced smile. ”S-Sorry about that. Let’s get cooking!” Donny focused back on making onigiri. First and foremost, hygiene. Donny went to wash his hands thoroughly with soap before he started handling the rice. He took two cups worth of rice and washed them in a fairly big bowl, rinsing out any excess residue on them. Once the cleaning was done he looked over at Haruka who seemed pretty psyched about getting the water to boil. It wasn’t long before the water to bubble, so Donny poured the rice into the wooden steamer and placed it precariously into the iron pot. Covering it up with a plexiglass lid, now all they needed to do was wait. It was a lot of rice, so it would need to cook for about thirty minutes.

In the meantime Donny looked over to Haruka. ”We have about twenty minutes before the rice needs to be stirred. Why don’t you look for something you’d like to put into the onigiri while I cut up the nori?” Donny was fine eating his plain, though he had an idea for what to fill his with. However he needed to cut up the nori and get it ready for the onigiri. While he could make them into rectangles easily enough, he had something more ambitious in mind. ”Usually people put pickled plumps or salted fish, but anything can be put into an onigiri if it fits. If you could, mind finding me some quail eggs? They’re super small. If they’re not in the meat locker with the rest of the eggs, they’re probably canned in the pantry somewhere.” Eggs were good. Whole quail eggs, just like his mother would make. If they had the time he'd broil some pork too, but he doubts that this class was going to last for another two hours. For now some boiled eggs in onigiri would have to suffice.

Yashiro, Takeshi

Takeshi blinked a few times when she said a car door. He couldn’t help but shake his head a few times, as if doing so would help him make sure he was hearing right. A truck door? “Of all the weapons of choice, even some of the oddest ones I could think of. I have yet to see someone want to use a truck door for a fight. “ He couldn’t help himself a chuckle, but he did notice how she was closing up afterwards with how she was shoving her hands in her pockets and quickly changed gears.

He cocked his head to the side, “Something tells me you’ve actually used one...I would love to hear about it sometime.” He said as the corner of his lip raised up in a small crooked smile. He was about use his quirk to construct a basic truck door when he heard the pink haired girl’s voice again. Apparently her name was Mamuro, and also apparently she knew his name. How, he didn’t know but simply nod as she continued to talk.

She mentioned she saw him performing his forms, how he must have been trained since a kid as well as how she never had the chance. But before he could confirm or deny her statement, she switched to Riena. His eye twitched a little bit, as the girl was speaking she seemed say exactly what her brain thought of at that moment.

He thought about what she revealed with her quirk to him. He then said in a calm voice. ”With her quirk, I imagine that she can use whatever she wanted around her to throw around. If I may offer an Idea, perhaps something for close combat. Incase your enemies get to close? Even then it could still be used effectively to be thrown around.

Jett Haven

Jett smiled as she said she wouldn’t even dignify that with a response, he didn’t say anything as he stood back and watched her as she then begun the next order of business. After a moment though he glanced over to Fumika again to see another short girl walking to the group. He smiled, as she poked her copy of herself. He glanced back to see Mina staring behind him, he glanced back to see her looking at Kaida with an odd look. Narrowing his eyes in confusion he looked back to her. He thought it best not to bring it up.

As she finished she laid the knife down on the cutting board, asking what was next. He reached for the knife and grabbed it, immediately began washing it out of sheer habit, the cutting was finished. ”Now we clean our station while we wait for the rice to cook. Saves on time cleaning up when we are done, while keeping an eye on the rice. We only want it to heat up to the point where it’s just barely boiling on the edges of the pot, then lower the heat to simmer and cover it.” He finished cleaning the knife and used the towel on his leg to dry it, then slipping back into its wooden block.”Also, just a sidenote. When using knifes, once you’re done cutting you should immediately clean them and put them away. For three reasons. One, it helps you get in the habit of not cross contaminating. Two it help protects the blades sharpness. Three and most important, it’s a good way to stay safe. Strewn utensils on the counter tend to be forgotten and knocked over, when in the heat of the moment of cooking. He said with a smile.

He pulled another tiny bowl out to put the pickled plums in, freeing up the cutting board to be washed. As he did, he thought of her earlier statement about being unprepared for adult life. He knew from how she acted and carried herself she came from a wealthy home. Usually he noticed kids from wealthy families not really having to worry about stuff like that even after they leave the home. Most still have their ‘allowances’ or inheritance. He and his sisters were an exception, as his father and mother made sure they worked around the house, learning those important life skills. He found it intriguing that Kasuke would be thinking about this. ”I must say... He looked at her while still washing. A hint of admiration on his face with a smile. I know you said this is your ‘act of rebellion’ to learn this. But I figured a girl with your upbringing and lifestyle, wouldn’t have to worry about such things later on. Most of the kids I know from other wealthy families don’t think like that. I find it admirable that you think like that.”

Arsenal

As a young man came over to Arsenal asking for tips on guns he smiled, "Yeah of course anytime, come with me" The two began walking over to armory walking down the isle where pistols were located and that was when the blue haired boy from earlier came up to Arsenal and asked him to teach him how to combat villains with weapons, "There isn't any exact right way to stop an armed enemy, the greatest way to combat that is through training. Many heroes have their own way of combating against an armed opponent,
martial arts being a popular choice that anyone can learn. I also offer afterschool insructing with hand to hand combat so stop by sometime and I can show you something maybe.
. Arsenal said with a smile

He turned back to Kamina saying"I can teach you how to wield a handgun to begin with and then we will go from there, I use handguns myself the ones I use need serious strength in order to use efficiently. Like taming a wild beast" The man walked over to a small section where a glock 17 gen 4 was situated behind glass, he placed his left hand against th glass and a bright strip of light panned over the mans hand as it read his finger print before the case opened up. "We use rubber bullets here though as a substitute for metal bullets for safety reasons" Arsenal opened up a draw and pulled out 5 ammo clips before grabbing an ammo pouch that was off to the side hanging on a hook.

Arsenal walked over to the range with the boy, placing a pistol down on the counter before pressing a button on the side of the booth that made a shooting dummy popup. "Alright so I will demonstrate how to shoot it then give you a go, first hold the gun with your dominant hand" Arsenal reached for it with his right hand before holding it up. "Grab an ammo clip with your non dominant hand and load it using an appropriate amount of force to make sure the clip is in there nice." He took an ammo clip and slammed it into the gun and immediately fell into stance like it was second nature to him. "Stance is also important, feet squared straight, arms fully expended with gun allign with middle of chest like your making a triangle. bend your knees a bit and lean forward slightly to allow that. Pistol, grip very tight but not too tight that you are trembling.

Roy Kusayanagi

Roy smiled as Fumika seemed like she was just fine being with herself and he didn't exactly want to take her out of her comfort zone, she offered him a clone projection of herself but Roy shooked his hands and sheepishly declined. "No no its fine honestly,
if your comfortable the way you are then by all means I don't want to mess it up.
Roy took note of how this girl was oddly unique in her own way. An innocent spirit at the core and the way she refered to herself in 3rd person made the boy chuckle a bit before heading off, "Well if you do end up wanting to work in a group, my offer is still on the table, the name is Roy Kusayanagi" he said giving her a thumbsup and a grin before grabbing an apron, it seemed like Kaida had already put one on as well as fixing her hair into a bun giving Roy a full view of her face. His face turning a little red at how pretty she was, Mom would tease me so hard if she saw me right now."You look pretty with your hair up, I can see your face fully" Roy said giving a genuine smile as He put the apron on and rolled up his sleeves taking his time in order to keep his shirt from getting wrinkled. He noticed Kaida had already started with cleaning the rice.

"Yeah after you finish washing the rice, we are going to place it in the rice cooker. Considering this is domesticated rice, washing it thoroughly should improve the flavor. While you do that I am going to marinate the beef while. Roy searched through for a cutting board, knife, and small dish pan, he frowned a bit feeling like something was missing before lighting up."Ginger and one more thing" he said under his breath before heading over to Connoissuer and grabbing the items. He grabbed a draining bowl and placed the garlic and Ginger inside to wash them quickly in the sink before taking the Ginger out and slicing the ginger into 8 pieces and placing them at bottom of the pan as well as 2 pieces of garlic cut into 4 and placing it with the ginger. "You don't seem like a stranger to the kitchen Kaida" Roy then poured soy sauce, Rice wine, olive oil, and his last ingredient, maple syrup before stiring the ingredients with a spoon spreading a sweet and tangy aroma. "This is a recipe my mother uses, some people might strike using maple syrup with beef strange but when the beef gets cooked it will have a nice glaze to it." the boy was genuinly happy when he cooked completely forgetting he was at a top academy.

Kasuke Mina

She saw the reason in his advice, and it was presented in a calm and helpful way, but even so, being corrected in any way hammered on her ego, and she went quiet as she listened to him explain about putting knives away, eyes narrowed and lips pursed. Unlike most of her conscious efforts to control how she came across to people, she didn't even notice she was doing this. She got herself busy washing the chopping board, and the cup she had used to add water to the rice. Her ego was being slowly healed by positive action, and doing things correctly.

Jett then complimented her on choosing to do this course, making her stop washing up briefly, before looking back down and carrying on. The blush was creeping back in subtly. After a few more seconds of silence, in which she was most likely forming a reply, she looked back up and turned to him, the iciness that had manifested shortly before now completely gone.

"I'm a proud girl. To proud to merely be content with being rich and having things done for me. I don't see an adult needing to have things done for them as a luxury. I see it as that adult not being independent enough or proud enough to want to be any good at doing those things."

Jett had noticed her narrowed eyes and pursed lips when he corrected her on using the knife. He sighed as there was nothing to do about it.

As he placed the towel over the pot and the lid over that, he noted she was quiet for a moment, glancing over to see the blush just as she turned to him and explained why. He only smiled as he wiped the counter with a clean towel.

Despite being totally different and raised differently, she had a similar outlook. He was fascinated by this girl. The list of things he liked about her just continued adding on.

With nothing left to do but to wait for the rice to soak up the water for the next 10 minutes he leaned against the counter and folded his arms. Looking at her and giving her a look as if he was really thinking hard. The. He said, So let me get this straight, you're short, sassy, proper, smart, talented, independent, dangerous, beautiful and with a head on straight.”

He paused to let that hang in the air. Looking forward, a clear look bewilderment on his face ”and people said the perfect girl didn't exist.” he said with a hint of a smile.

Haruka Sanegeyama

In the moments it took her to recover from her self-embarrassment, which had her leaned over the counter with a strong feeling of regret tearing its way through her torso, Donny returned and spoke up. Haruka met eyes with him and upon seeing his smile, she allowed herself to calm down a bit and stood up, straightening herself out once again. "Y-yeah," She said with a nod, feeling determined again. They were getting in there and about to make some good stuff, she could feel it.

After Donny washed his hands, Haruka took a turn to do the same, watching as he washed the rice off. He then transferred it to the steamer, revealing its secret applications to her. She understood now. It wasn't quite technological enough to count as her Qurik taking effect, but it was new knowledge all the same. "Ooh," she mumbled. This was interesting.

Once more, a request came, and Haruka gave a firm nod. "Okay, sure. Fish and eggs. Sounds good," she said in agreement with the requests. "Be right back!" Immediately, she went to the food storage, where she began to search the meat locker for a few things. Salted fish, eggs, simple fillings like that. She picked some tuna and looked through the eggs, searching for the tiniest ones she could find. Luckily, a carton of absolutely miniscule eggs was soon uncovered, and she took a moment to examine them.

"How can something even be so tiny? Whatever comes out of those must be small as hell. I don't think I've ever actually seen a quail..." She shook her head to get her thoughts away from the distraction, and with proteins in tow, a detour was taken to the pantry shelves. She grabbed a bottle of mayonnaise, since she at least knew her dad used it as an ingredient for tuna-filled ones, and a handful of spice bottles that smelled good.

Now that everything was gathered, she returned to the workstation with Donny, presenting what she had gathered. "I got the eggs here, and some tuna and mayonnaise for another filling? My dad makes something with this, but I'm not sure what all he puts in." She set the spices up in a row, to show what she'd gathered even if it was mostly at random.

A long, cute, tired yawn sounded throughout the hallway making some of the students passing by take a second gander at the shorthead. Her hand was in front of her mouth with spread out fingers while the other hand was high up in the air stretching her tiny body. With a somewhat dozed off look she strode further into the school not really knowing where she should be going. It was obvious she was suppose to be in class right now but where of when was a big question mark for her. At least she was ready for the occasion.

She had actually managed to get her school uniform out of the closet this morning and was able to put it on properly this time. With the help of her mother off course. If she didn't wear it she would likely be kicked out of this school in mere seconds so she better behave for a day or two. It still fell a size to big for her so it looked like she was drowning in it more then that she was actually wearing it. Tomoe was the type to just wear short sport socks instead of hiding her legs under fabric and didn't fumble with her skirt either, like the trend most girls followed nowadays.

The right side of her hair was neatly tied up in a braid while the other side of her hair was loose, it had become her style a few years back when she saw one of her loving idols do it too. Anyhow, the tips of her hair are kind of springy tending to stand up a little on their own. She has her bangs neatly brushed to the left side too with a cute flower clip at the very left side of them.

It had been kind of irritating her, having to wear a proper blouse, vest and tie for the whole day. Tomoe wasn't really the type to wear anything strict and dull as this. She was more of the shirts and dresses that would just loosely hang over your body instead. Despites that this uniform definitly made her cutting board stand out even more. If she were to wear a boy's uniform people would probably believe her.

Her small footsteps echoed throughout the hallway with each step she took, she would pass by some students from time to time but it was rather empty which probably had to do with that she was extremely late for class. Maybe having dozed off in the corner of the classroom hadn't helped her. If she were to have woken up sooner she could just have followed others but it was too late for that now.

After some time she had found out about what class she should be attending and where it was suppose to be. She was told to immediately go towards the gymnasium where the teacher was suppose to be now. Just as expected she met a few other students waiting for the teacher to open the door for the gymnasium. Nobody had missed her most likely, which was a good thing in this case. She rolled her eyes knowing how bad it was of her to have avoided most people in her class already during the first hour.

Students made their way into the actual gymnasium which was lined up with tons of gadgets and weapons that they could use to their own will with the permission of the teacher off course. Furthermore they had a few training rooms which they could practice their gadgets and guns in. All in all Tomoe wasn't interest in those right now. She made her way over to a somewhat more remote place giving a quick glance at some of the tables in the progress and eventually found a spot. It was at the side of the gymnasium behind some of the benches. Nobody would really come there she supposed so she could rest in peace.

Tomoe just started lying on the ground with her face to the wall curled up just a little. She could basically sleep anywhere if she wanted too. People often found it weird that she would sleep under class but she didn't really take opinions from other on her own habits. It was a bit of bother however that she was a somewhat busy sleeper, she would often rotate or let her body parts drift all over the place. Soft panting was heard from behind the bench from her slightly open mouth as she had already rotated to her back and short after her face towards the bench. It didn't take long before her leg was poking out from behind the bench. Unaware of her own actions she tried assaulting one of the students walking around with her poked out leg, if she was noticed was up to the student off course.

Reina Mori

Reina glanced over to Takeshi after he said he’d like to hear more about how she used a door as a weapon. With a faint blush, she nodded slightly. ”S-Sure, I guess... it was just today, for my class’ training exercise...” The girl was about to mention that he’d probably be able to see the footage, but she wasn’t sure if she wanted more people seeing her acting all yell-y and embarrassing. She had... really gotten into that fight. It had been almost kind of nice, actually. She hadn’t really been doubting herself in the moment--only thinking of what she had to do to win. Of course, she still failed in the end, but...

Mamoru came over, quickly earning Reina’s attention. Rei-chan?... The girl blushed lightly, hiding a tiny smile. She had never been addressed in such a casual way. It felt... nice. Reina waved to the hyper girl, amused by all the things she was carrying. She certainly felt far less hesitant than Reina did about trying things out.

Out of Mamoru’s suggestions, boomerangs stuck most in Reina’s thoughts. Flying shields seemed... not possible? And if they were, her quirk would likely just mess with them the moment she started exerting force one way or another. She could, in theory, work with boomerangs though. Kind of strange weapon for a hero though...

Reina nodded unconsciously when Takeshi suggested a melee weapon. Really, that was what she had always envision herself using, if any tool at all. She’d always imagined her ideal fighting style to involve forcing her opponent close, controlling their movement with her quirk, and using close-combat skills to win. Not that she had any skills, but she’d have to start some where...

The girl appeared deep in thought, eyes closed as she played with her ear with one hand, the other holding her bicep across her chest. She liked the idea of swords. Image wasn’t everything, of course, but heroes so often seemed to use swords. Something about them just worked for one aligned with justice. If she wanted to be able to throw her sword as well, it couldn’t really be a big one...

“...Maybe two... ‘half’ swords?” she mumbled aloud, not knowing exactly what a sword that she envisioned would be accurately called. Maybe Takeshi or Mamoru would know. ”Or... or just one to start. I’m... guessing smaller swords are easier to handle, maybe? I-I’ve never used any sort of real weapon...”

Reina looked towards Takeshi out of the corner of her eye for a moment, wondering if he’d be able to teach her at all. The girl averted her gaze nearly immediately, pushing the thought away. There was no way she’d ever impose on anyone like that. She could use the internet, and ask teachers instead, even if none of them seemed necessarily skilled with swords. She had taught herself plenty of things in the past. Even if it wasn’t the most efficient to do such things alone, she was able and used to it.

ACION

Acion watched as Arsenal demonstrated on how to use the gun properly. Though each and every guns in the armory had their own instructions and guidelines, witnessing a real tutorial was always better.

After the teacher finished, Acion was finally able to use the weapon on his free will. For training purposes, he was given a simple Five-Seven with BB bullets. Taking the stances that Arsenal taught, Acion slowly raised his gun, as the training targets soon appeared in front of him, its distance varied. He had a variety of targets for him to choose.

BOOM!

But he hit none.

The recoil was a lot more powerful than he had anticipated.

'Try again.'

He did so, but still missed. The recoil was still a little bit too foreign. He fired a few more times, landing a few straggling shots in some corners of the board, but they were all off-targets. Still, getting the thing right for him wasn't a very difficult task, as Acion was strong enough to handle pistols well. The first few shots were for introductory purposes. The trajectory could differ from shots to shots, but its recoil patterns remained relatively the same. Through constant observation, Acion noted that the gun moved around 4 degrees upwards when fired, and his firing pattern was also 'shooting the sky'. So if he pointed the gun 4 degrees downwards, the line of fire would become horizontal.

Acion raised his gun again, this time pointing the gun slightly downwards, and fired. The bullet roared out of the gun as it broke through the sound barrier with complete ease by the help of gunpowder. The cold hard lump of metal sliced through the air and pinned exactly...on the target's outer rear.

'Hmm...'

Not exactly what he had hoped. But it was clearly and considerably better than the last few shots.

Let's try again.

Acion reloaded his gun and so the cycle repeated itself a few more times. Eventually, the angel with the pistol soon got used to the recoil pattern, and most of his later shots hit on targets. Well, at least landed on the place it should be landing on. Now let's try something harder. Perhaps moving targets. Acion quickly made the necessary adjustments on the computer panel, and the targets soon appeared. Moving targets. They were much more difficult, considering the fact that Acion must calculate the trajectory of not only the bullet, the gun but also the target itself. But he wasn't a total stranger to that. He had calculated and anticipated both his enemy and his own movements in mock fights, so the task of calculating a bullet's trajectory wasn't that much of a hassle, but it wasn't easy either.

The process repeated again, with Acion missing the first few magazines and then getting it just right. He wasn't an ace, and could never have aced in a single training practice. Luckily, the school allowed students to get access to its enormous, and somewhat suspicious, ammunition storage. That, combining with Acion's perceptive and quick to learn nature, was key to his quick adaptation of the weapon.

Now that he had managed to hit moving targets, let's boost the difficulty even further. With the LSAT!

Ok sure. It was insane. Moving from a pistol from a LMG was pretty out of the question for most gun users, even the one who had a lot of experience with it. But Acion didn't really want to wait right now. Not that he was being impatient, but he had to try it, to see if he could really handle it. And if not, to see the goal that he must achieve. Setting oneself a goal is the best way to not squander life away.

'How convenient'

On each and every gun in the armory, there were detailed statistics of the gun, its effectiveness, instructions on how to use the gun, or even how to hold the gun right. Acion wouldn't want to think about it, but if this armory wasn't Arsenal's, which was probably true, then the system was made entirely from a lazy teacher who was tired of tutoring students so that any idiot could learn and be able to use them by themselves. In any cases, this was a good thing for him.

Acion took the gun from the racket, and began to feel it. It was...lighter than he had anticipated, and a bit small and convenient for a LMG. He took a few minutes getting it right, and once so, he would take it to the testing field. Inserting the ammo magazine into the gun all according to instruction, locked, loaded, and ready to fire.

Kasuke Mina

The moment Mina started to boil over after hearing that, so did the water. She quickly preoccupied herself by turning the heat down and putting a lid on the pot to let the rice simmer away. In this time, she'd also managed to get herself under control a little, and was also simmering away. She turned back to Jett. She was blushing redder. She couldn't hide that, but at least she'd allowed herself time to retort with a comeback.

"Why was 'short' the first thing on your list? In fact, why was it on your list? What's great about being short? Do you like short girls, Jett?"

She must admit, it felt good to be the one teasing for a change, even if she knew that Jett will not flap in the face of something weak like that. Even so, she wasn't on the defensive anymore. She hated being on the defensive. It's embarrassing, a little bit confusing, and it's really hard to not look like an idiot. She hadn't adressed anything else she'd said. This could either be interpreted as 'The 'short' line really got my attention', or 'well, of course I'm the other things'. Mina was fine with either being assumed.

Jett Haven

Jett looked at Kasuke with a matter of fact face, He could easily tell she was flustered, the redness of her face was a clear sign, that and her attempt at teasing him kinda fell flat. She had some better ones this morning. Compared to her, he was calm collected and amused really. Well...you are short. Which is really cute, I guess you could mean I called you cute and beautiful kinda which is redundant, but is a separate classification if you ask me. As with girls and wanting to date tall guys, it only makes logical sense Guys also have a preference. He smiled, Well, short girls can get away with a lot more crap cause they are so damn cute do that's a plus, and I think that's obvious that I like short girls as I threw it in for the description of the perfect girl.

He folded his arms and just looked at her. As if challenging her to try again, a smug look on his face.

What about you? What do you look for in a guy? What's your 'list'?"
