Kai finally managed to calm down her room mate. He had just joined the school and he had already learned something new, he was a really patient person. He because drunk in happiness when he heard Karen, his room mate, say that maths was optional, that meant that he could focus only in his arcane studies and go to classes that he liked, like sports, biology and physics.

"Oh it's your second year here? So you should be great using magic, no? What is your specialty?" Kai stopped while analyzing the girl. She didn't look much the physical type, in his mind she was some sort of elemental user, maybe air. Or she might as well be trained in some type of mind magic. He didn't really knew so he was expectant for the answer.

While talking, Kai started heading towards the door and left the girl behind, forgetting to mention that he would accept the invite of her showing him the school.

"So, aren't you coming? You said that you wanted to show me the school. Let's do it then. In the meanwhile you can tell me more about the classes, we do have magic classes right? They aren't all theoretic or are they? I hope not. Do we fight each other during classes? How do we train our powers?"

As Karen might already have noticed, Kai was a young boy full of questions. The excitement on his face was endless, and for someone who, minutes ago, was going to bed it seemed like meeting someone new had fully charged his batteries.

"My dear young lady, I suggest, for your own safety, that you not step any closer,"
For a second, Melody's heart fluttered, as she locked eyes with Francisco. She hadn't realized it up until this point, but damn that boy was cute. She shook her head, making herself stay focused. "Hey, how did you-" She started to say before she was rudely interrupted by Morholt attempting to murder her.

"Okay, focus focus focus!" She thought to herself, as a hand was clenching itself tighter and tighter upon her skull. In situations like this, her magic was a great help, pushing back fear and helping her focus on not dying. She immediately started to try to sap rage away from Morholt, now that she had physical contact with him. She filtered through as much as she could, voiding away wave after wave of anger, but she didn't have the chance to get very far. Just a second after she was grabbed, Francisco knocked Morholt over, freeing her and severing contact in the process. Melody took a deep breath, and staggered to her own feet, "Th-thanks." She started to say before She was suddenly grabbed from behind.
B-BANISHMENT!
Next thing she knew, she was being hugged by Luna in a very dark, seemingly endless place. "L-Luna?" She said, craning her neck to look at her in confusion. "Luna, where are we? You... banished me?" She asked, unsure of what that meant exactly. Melody was a little worried that she was gonna end up getting hurt back there, but she'd much rather be there helping instead of here, useless. "I need to go back! People are gonna get hurt if I can't help..." She complained, "Even I can't break up those two, I can keep people calm and help start evacuating." She said, struggling against Luna's grip.

Luna looked at her for a moment sadly, before releasing her from her grasp,"If that is what you want, I'm sorry." she then blinked, releasing the tether that held melody in the banishment, and set Melody right back to the place she had vanished from. She coughed, before breathing heavily a bit, she took a few steps away, trying to think. She didn't get much thinking done before she lost control of the banishment, and brought herself back as well, she was exhausted and wasn't paying much attention to the conflict anymore, She had tried to help, but seemingly made it worse. She kept her self invisible till she was back at there table. As her body became revealed she found herself falling, her head landing practically on Viola's lap, she continued to pant for a few seconds before she caught her breath, she looked up at Viola, "S-She didn't want saving, haha, mind if i lay here for a second and catch my breath?" she asked. Her blood was pumping she hadn't been that close to danger yet, she felt the heat of combat, and it seemingly opened her up a bit more. She laid there for a few seconds before, lifting her body up again and continuing to watch, "She tried to stop them and it didn't seem to work to well,
what does she think she will accomplish?
" she said as she looked at abi, she then looked back at Viola, "D-do you think we should leave the mess hall before we get hurt?" she asked hoping the answer might be yes, but knowing it wasn't a likely result.

((Ah, I started doing sprite art cause I'm a hack. I drew Alex's summons.))

Alex was sitting, not sure what to do. Conflict was just not in his nature. Not one bit. But if he didn't intervene, people would get hurt. When he looked up, Melody was in front of the death knight. "If you can do something, do it!" He said to Viola, before pulling himself up and running towards the 9-foot tall warrior he had no business picking a fight with.

Alex wasn't sure what it was, but he felt uncharacteristically brave as he wound up and threw BoxDog, overhand, at Morholt. In mid-air, about a foot from its target, BoxDog expanded, hopefully putting itself between Morholt and Melody and Luna. It was almost as tall as Morholt, and about four times as wide. Which was unfortunate for the Death Knight, because it's mouth was gaping open, attempting to bite down on him. Not hard enough to kill him, but just trying to get a hold on him.

"Shikigami!" He said, holding out his hand. The paper-thin creature appeared, and started to slither along the floor. It seemed to disappear, though if you knew what to look for, you might see a shimmer. Keeping track of it would be a bad time, though, since it was quite okay with being tread on by the panicking students.

"Melody are you crazy?!" He shouted. He turned to Hilda. "I'm controlling the monsters, they'll help you!" He called to the tall girl. For all he knew, she could have thought Morholt was controlling them.

"Ah...and what would you do?" Viola asked; Abi could feel the slight tone with how she asked. Not that Abi minded. Personality is never something to be ashamed of.

"I may just intervene.. but it seems there are other students trying to contain this.."

Abi was ready to head on over, with all intention to averting this disastrous day. She weighed her options closely. On one hand someone was going to get smushed.

--but on the other hand, Summoning her Alter at such a.. filthy place was not ideal. For one, she had no control over herself in this form, and falling limp on the greasy, messy floor was not how she wanted to spend her first day

Decisions decisions.

Just as she was ready to find a nice clean place to conjure, someone took the initiative. He muscled his way, gracing everyone with his bravery-- just like Melody did. Only this time, Morholt seemed to respond much more than the pinkette's pleadings.

"I guess I won't be needed for now." Abi sat back down and continued conversing with Viola. There was so much to get to know about this girl! "You've got to tell me where you get your clothes! I have mine made by the family tailors.. but I also wanted to see what the other shops around here might offer!" She spoke a median of calm and eager; it wasn't every day she'd meet a fellow gothic enthusiast-- all while the ruckus played out behind them.

Her questioning was interrupted by Luna, namesake apt by how her white head of hair swayed as she talked.

"D-do you think we should leave the mess hall before we get hurt?"

"and miss out on watching this play out?" Abi smirked cheekily "I would rather stay."

Perhaps it was a result of a perfected practice of patience, possibly fear was the answer to this, but Shen Li Fang knew why she had not yet acted to the devastation that was occurring right in front of her. She finished carefully eating her bowl of porridge, and more importantly she still had her luggage to maintain. As Shen Li Fang ruminated on these ruinous events on display in front of her she simply left the bowl on the top of a nearby trash can. Bending down she flicked both of her suitcases to the upright position as she continued to take into account the events that occurred around her.

The first and most notable affair was the fact that two students, one a clear soldier or at least one who wanted to pretend to be one, messing with some dandy. A brown haired girl was attempting to use diplomacy of some sort in order for them to solve their quarrel; a valid tactic, after all one could never underestimate the usefulness of worming around with words to achieve goals. Shortly after this particular tactic was tried, it appeared that another girl was frightful of the fate of the other and sent them into some sort of 'shadow realm'. Certainly another interesting and valid response to be had.

The next and more curious response was another lady, one who was about as tall as Shen Li Fang even, preparing herself to take blows from the warrior on the behalf of the fop. Well, that was certainly unlady like, Shen Li Fang made a mental note to write to her Clan to avoid arranging a marriage with that woman if that particular situation ever arose.

Then there was, one who... Shen Li Fang blinked as she raised her left hand to cover up her gaping mouth when she saw those apparitions. Truly one had to be sick in order to not allow ancestors to have their proper slumber.

And of course new cubical creatures were being thrown in by, Shen Li Fang could not decipher such information at this time. Hm. There were many possible courses of action she could partake in...

Perhaps she could heroically try to stop this fight and earn some respect and admiration from her peers. Ha! This notion was ludicrous as Shen Li Fang knew she would not have enough time to do anything of note. However that led her to another thought, during this particular kerfuffle she might have a serendipitous opportunity in order to collect "new essences". Though that would have to wait for when the fight was properly occurring, so that Shen Li Fang could minimize herself to dangers and being targeted.

There was only proper course of action to solve this particular conundrum; a way that was taught by the Shen Clan to all of its members and was utilized often by the lower ranking operatives in the family.

Shen Li Fang had to tattletale up the chain of command.

In this particular circumstance that would mean go to the teachers. It would most surely earn her some ire among these peers, well at the least the ones who wish to be truly heroic, but for now it was the only decent course of action she had at her disposal.

So with her two suitcases in hand she walked towards the table in which the Headmaster was presently at. Letting go of the suitcases for a moment she performed a curtsy.

"Excuse me," Shen Li Fang began to articulate, "perhaps it is not my place to speak, especially about a circumstance I am most certain you are aware of. However if you allow me this moment, I wish to express my concerns regarding the armored individual who is quite keen on combat. In my opinion, such an action should hopefully not be taking place where individuals are eating. It brings misfortune to both the diners and to the chefs whose crafts are secondary to this distraction."

Bowing her head, and well her torso, she continued on. "Now if you are willing, I shall excuse myself so that I may place my belongings into the lodgings you and this institution have so gracefully allowed me to inhabit."

"Aw, I'm a little disappointed." Viola pouted playfully at Abigail's reply. No head pats for her. Oh well, that was that. Less work for her and she got to watch sheep attempt to be a wolf. It'd be bad if this continued, but Viola didn't particularly care too much. People needed to learn their limits after all. "But fair is fair. Better to let fools who want to deal with it than get our own hands dirty, after all." She replied as Luna re-materialized, practically falling into her lap. The other girl was rightly spooked, and the poor dear looked exactly like a frightened kitten. She didn't reply to the question on whether she could stay there or not, but simply gave the girl a small grin and gave her a pat on the head.

"Interested in my clothes?" She played with one of the loose ribbons on her dress. "Hand-stitched by my masters servant. Unfortunately you probably won't ever be able to own one. Mistress Livia is rather...reclusive and doesn't like other people too much. I suppose I could ask her to make something for a friend next time I see her, but...she's a rather difficult person to deal with sometimes. She has a tendency to make people work for what they want, and I don't mean something like simple chores either." Though, she would rather not have Abigail meet either of them. Livia would sooner use her for some sort of experiment and question why she was 'getting friendly' with some of the other students instead of focusing on her studies. That might put a wrench in her own plans.

Oh well, that was neither here nor there. She'd deal with that if it ever became an issue.

"As for you my little kitten," Viola's tone carried a playful inflection to it as usual. "I don't know about you but I quite like the show. If you're nervous though...I certainly don't mind you using my lap as a pillow again."

"hmph" Abi wiped her hands dry from whatever dirt she had picked up and reached over to Viola. The way she run 'patted' the other girl was more like tucking a piece of hair behind Viola's ear. She smiled softly and went back to finishing the cinnamon roll as if nothing happened. "I wouldn't request you to do anything you'd not want."

She followed by taking a sip of milk, then continuing. Her eyes were closed, almost pompously and with a little smirk. "Your clothes seem important to you, let's not ruin it then..?" Abi slowly lowered her glass.

A few more minutes, and she could feel that something was going to happen-- whether to further raise the tussle, or to stop it.

"I'm surprised this has escalated as far as this." By 'this' she meant the whole Morholt deal.

"... hm?"

Before the much shorter girl could introduce herself, another feminine voice perked up behind the young butler, announcing themselves to the duo. Klaus seemed to garner a face of surprise, a small frown with slightly wider eyes than in general. Letting both his arms fall to the side, hie frown was quickly replaced with an affable smile as he nodded to the redhead. "Ah, pardon me Mistress," he whispered to the girl and pivoted round.

... only to see a lovely amazon of a lady. And he was under the belief that he was a giant. Regardless, a quick glance at her told him a couple of things. One, there was a reason the roof was much higher than usual, and second her height without those... stilts? Sandals of some sort? What was she exactly wearing?

As he peered down at the woman's legs, trying to discern what she had on her feet, he came to the realization that he didn't properly introduce himself. My, my, maybe this school was already taking precedent over his years of training.

Perishing the frightening though, Klaus quickly whisked his head up too look straight into the woman's eyes. Still brandishing a professional smile, he proceeded to place one arm across his chest and another square on his back. The butler then commenced the same actions he performed before for the girl with the freckles, bowing down to the woman for a few seconds before ascending back up.

"Ah, a pleasure to make your acquaintance Mistress Nulong," he kept his composure, his eyes still peeled on the larger lady. "I am Klaus Knuez, I shall duly commit your preference to memory Mistress Nulong, hm." Once more, Klaus let both of his arms drooped to his side, giving a quaint nod to the much taller woman before turning back to the shorter woman who hadn't spoken up yet. Whether it was the fact that she was reeling in shock, or too shy to say anything, the butler wasn't exactly sure.

... regardless.

"Hm, pardon me Mistress, but I hope you don't mind if we continue the introductions along with organizing our clothing and miscellaneous items," he spoke up to the red haired lady, nodding to her in an apologetic manner before quickly addressing his own luggage, via pivoting around to the trolley. The first thing he grasped at was the sealed case that hit him in the gut earlier.

Folding the clips up, he popped it open, and quickly eyed the simple silver platter that lie in wait. While it did appear to be a look of admiration, it was more along the lines of a ridiculously thorough inspection. His gloved fingers ran across the surface, making sure no dust or scratch had permeated the surface of it before picking it up and deftly flipping it over and setting it back into the case in a dainty matter. He there then began completed the same procedures as before, ending it with another simple flip... and another inspection.

This carried on for a bit, before Klaus stood back, smiling victoriously over the minute inspection.

Prostrating the heavy piece of metal across his hands, Klaus then proceeded to raise it up with the tips of his fingers. Quickly turning around, he looked over both ladies before calmly huffing in a complacent matter.

"Ah, regarding the beds Mistress and Mistress Nulong, I shall dedicate myself to the one neither of you choose," he spoke up to the two, pleasantly smiling as he patiently awaited their choice. If either of them offered him to go first, he would just shake his head, quietly saying that they should make their choice first.

...

...

...

Once both women decided on which bed to occupy, Klaus would give the duo a short bow before approaching the bed neither of them claimed. Slowly, but calmly, the boy bent over the side of his bed, setting his platter down onto the middle of the mattress. Shifting away, he went to obtain another piece of luggage... which when opened, contained identical sets of clothing, this one with multiple dinner jackets.

His keen eye constantly scanned over each piece of clothing, giving the same inspection as he did with the bare platter. Any unwarranted creases, misfolded collars, inside out pockets, nothing seemed to escape his eye as he made sure that none of them were improperly prepared for the day.

After all, he didn't want to appear as a complete slob, even after that embarrassing event from earlier.

Regardless, he found most of the coats untarnished, dissuading any of his former worries before moving onto the rest of his cases, each one consisting of having the same item inside them arranged in a uniform manner, ranging from socks to gloves to shirt to pant... you get the point. The boy then proceeded with the same contrived inspection, looking over each item and analyzing them.

Of course, during one of these inspections, the young butler raised his head, looking over at both of his two roommates.

"Ah, Mistresses," he quietly spoke up, looking over at both of them as he set down a hanger. "Pardon my intrusion, but I could handle the rest of your clothes if you instruct me on how to handle them; specifics and organization. In that sense, both of you could head to the general dining area and feast; a pleasant idea, hm?"

The boy idly smiled at the two, awaiting any sort of answer from either of the girls.

The two student's pleasant, though somewhat stiff, conversation was abruptly interrupted by sounds of shenanigans and hooliganry a dozen or so yards away, to which Theo jumped to his feet in response. It was hard to tell what was going on from all the way over here because of all the students, but it looked like there was a fight between students. Appearing to mainly be caused by a huge beast of a human being. Or not human being. It was hard to tell under the freaking armor.

"You might want to add something to your notes, 'Morholt'. You should probably steer clear of him, he's not the friendliest face on campus," Iron mentioned, motioning almost casually in the direction of the commotion. "Should we do something? Alert somebody? Anything? It looks like people are actually getting hurt over there!" Theo exclaimed, unsure of how he should react. It may be best to run over and try and assist, but there's nothing he could think of that could help. It's not like he'd be able to fight. Even if he could, he was very much a pacifist and the 'Morholt' looked to be less interested in an exchange of words and more interested in the exchange of their physical representations.

The other students in the dining hall didn't seem to be doing anything about the fight, either. A lot were spectating, some weren't even paying it any attention other than watching warily to make sure it didn't drift closer. Was this a normal thing at this magic school? It didn't look like any staff were doing anything about it either, though then again, Theo could see any staff members nearby in general. So, he neither went to approach the fight in case he ended up in the middle of it, nor to go retrieve the help of an autority in case this was just a normal circumstance (and he also didn't yet know where to go to do so). Instead, Theo ended up hesitantly standing by the chair that held his long coat and doing nothing other than spectate from afar.

The enforcers arrived after Alex's display of BoxDog, running towards them only to slow down warily as they approached Morholt. Apparently, even the enforcers were wary of the hulking gray-skinned giant. Morholt himself had taken stock of the new arrivals, his eyes glancing at them for a moment before returning to the summon above him attempting to bite down. The giant actually gripped the summoned constructs mouth, and bent its teeth as though it were the cardboard it appeared to be, and tossed it back towards Alex with a grunt.

Glaring at Hilda and Francisco, the giant suddenly reached across its neck and snapped its I.D. off, tossing it to the girl. At the action, Francisco's eyes narrowed.

"Why don't you challenge me first? It hardly seems fair to challenge the person who was uninvolved just a scant few seconds earlier to a duel."

Morholt's only response was to growl at the man.

At this development, the enforcers had to pause their steady advance towards him. It was a bit of a cop out, but they couldn't do anything in the face of an official challenge, save wait for the outcome. Of course, Hilda had the option of refusing, and it wouldn't be unusual, however . . . Hilda inexplicably accepted.

"A-ah?~" Viola grinned, giggling impishly as she was 'patted' by Abigail. It was close enough for Viola, at least. "I didn't actually think you'd do it..." Her attention turned back to the ensuing fight with Morholt soon though. She had been interested in watching a few students beat the giant to a pulp, or watch the so called Death Knight do what he did best. Either outcome would have been enjoyable...if only the Enforcers hadn't gotten involved. Ruin everything, why don't they.

"Speaking of my dress..." Viola's mouth turned down into a somewhat bored frown. "Now that the enforcers are here, things are going to get a bit boorish." She sighed, getting up from her seat. "I think I shall retire to my dorm for now. I need to make sure my...friends are behaving anyways. Both of you are free to join me, should you wish."

The small girl didn't wait for a response to see if they would join her, and simply started heading out of the room to her dorm.

Melody winced as she stumbled to her feet, Luna being nice enough to return her to reality. She watched on at the ensuing chaos, between Alex's summon suffering heavy damage, and all the fighting going on, she was relieved when the enforcers finally came to stop this. She was shocked then when Morholt managed to intimidate even them. She closed her eyes and was about to try to put an end to this when Morholt actually issued a duel to a girl. She breathed a heavy sigh and dropped her aura, knowing she couldn't interfere anymore. "You really don't have to do this you know..." She said to both of them, mostly the girl though. She hated being forced to watch people struggling, unable to help.

The overall energy of the room had dropped considerably from when the night began. Even if she were to try to fight, or interfere in any way, she'd be just as strong as the average human, and wouldn't be much use. She put a considerable distance between her and the imminent fight. She would at least sit this out, and make sure to be there for the girl if the fight goes as she imagined it would. She hadn't thought she'd be spending her first night back playing nurse, but if that's how it was going to have to be, so it was. She looked back at Luna and company, realizing that Luna still had her jacket, meaning she'd have to track her down later.

Even though she was always tried to be optimistic, she also wasn't that delusional. She'd heard tales of Morholt's opponents, and it never ended well for them. Melody wasn't even convinced she could stop Morholt one on one. Not that she was the most powerful witch, but she always figured if she had to fight, being able to thoroughly calm down her opponent could at get them to surrender, or make them unwilling enough to fight to the point of it being trivial to beat them. But between Morholt's strength and his apparent unending amounts of rage, it made for a deadly combination that might only be defeatable through brute force. She took a seat at a table, and turned it to face the fight, not expecting this to take too long.

Everything happened so suddenly it took a few seconds for Hilda to process it all. Paper animal constructs were scurrying all over the place, some form of authority was finally starting to arrive on the scene, and oh God, this absolute giant looked absolutely terrifying now that it was this close to her.

This wasn't how things were supposed to turn out. This was a situation where Hilda could have - no - would have ran, gone to find a member of staff and put an end to this catastrophe. And now, suddenly deciding to act all brave and chivalrous like her more experienced relatives would have certainly did, Hilda found herself right in the middle of it all; this student didn't look like someone she could easily fight off. Hilda could bench press her own 160 lbs weight no problem, but just looking into the eyes of this grey giant made her think of how easy it would be for this student to swat her into oblivion like a fly.

A bead of sweat trickled down Hilda's face. Since when did it get so hot in here?

The large student pulled his ID off his neck and suddenly threw it at Hilda. Reflexes be damned or thankful for, Hilda caught it.

"Why don't you challenge me first? It hardly seems fair to challenge the person who was uninvolved just a scant few seconds earlier to a duel," said the boy behind her. What on earth was he talking about-

Hilda's face snapped back to look up at the grey skinned giant, limbs no longer shaking and skin no longer sweating. Her facial expression suddenly became devoid of any sense of fear and emotion, and her light brown eyes locked into the grey student's piercing gaze. Her stance changed, standing tall like she had been when she attempted to shield the boy and her chest slightly puffed out. She opened her mouth to speak, and these were the first words she would utter on her first day on campus.

I accept your duel, Hilda said, voice laced in her slight German accent loud and clear for the whole cafeteria to hear.

As if she had just been snapped out of a vivid daydream, Hilda suddenly shook her head, stumbling backwards as she regained her supposedly lost consciousness. The movement in her limbs returned, and she glanced at the ID in her hands. Despite her initial fears of getting pummeled to the ground by this enormous pupil, Hilda could only look back at them in sheer confusion. What exactly had happened, just now?

I... I think you dropped this?

Abi finished her food immediately. She wanted to play a little bit more with Viola, but it seems the other girl wasn't too interested. So, Abi drank the last of her milk and prepared to leave the cafeteria, not before putting everyone else's used utensils and trays away. She had stacked them for easier disposal by the janitors. Manners were important, even when a giant beast in the cafeteria is threatening to make someone's meal their last. By the end of it, she must have used a few more than 20 pieces of tissues to avoid actually touching the utensils. Abi also pushed the tissues into her own glass and picked up her luggage.

"I may need to head to my own room too.. you're right, it seems it's getting boring here." It wasn't that Abi had some facade to put up; the girl actually cared about the whole mess-- but her abilities weren't applicable to the situation. Even with an Alter's strength, she doubted that would make a difference at all.

(This.. isn't my problem. And the professors are coming in, too anyway.) Abi nodded and started to make way to her room. "Maybe we could stroll around later when we aren't encumbered by our luggage?" She suggested, to Luna and to Viola.

How she would get the message to the other table mates, though.. that would seem to be a concern.

The hulking figure turned and walked away without another word, much to the relief of several students. Still, a tense sort of awkwardness hung in the air - a result of the fact that Hilda was still holding his I.D.

Francisco patted her on the shoulder. "I'm thinking that this is the first time you've been challenge to a duel, yes?" He squeezed her shoulder slightly. "If so, you probably don't know what you're getting into."

The duel had been accepted, and now that it was official, the enforcers nodded to each other, some of them leaving the cafeteria. One approached Hilda.

"Will prepare a space in the dueling grounds for you. We'll call you later today, once it's prepared."

"I'd think about the terms of the duel in the meantime, if I were you," Francisco interjected. "But, ah, try not to overthink it." The flippancy in his tone was forced, and there was an obvious undercurrent of worry in it. The same worry was on the expressions of several students around Hilda, though some of them did have a look of excitement on their faces.

Well, it was to be expected. First day of classes and there was already an official duel, and Morholt of all people was involved. Things hardly got more exciting than that.

The enforcers got into the task of dispersing the people, and finally, things seemed to calm down for the moment. Eventually, things returned to normal.

Slowly, the mess hall was emptied out as students finished breakfast and turned to their rooms - most turned into catch up on some much needed sleep. Activity wouldn't pick up until afternoon, where most students began awaking once again. Classes wouldn't start until the next day, to give students some time to adjust to their surroundings, but the lecture halls and other facilities would be open in that time. More importantly, a list of available field trips had been releases, to the pleasure of many.

Time passed, and the dark of early morning gave way for a brilliant blue sky, signalling what was officially the start of a new day.

Kai was really excited about this school tour, even if he had always lived surrounded by magic his whole life he had never been to a place like this, everyone around had magic, and for the few he had already seen every type of magic people were showing was so different from his.

Plague magic was what she said? That sounded powerful but at the same time scary. "So, what can you really do? You make people fell weak and something like that? And how does that work? By touch?"

The train had just arrived, standing before Kai was a big building, probably the duel grounds the girl mentioned. Kai was excited that he might be able to see someone using their power in a fight, would they be stronger than him? Maybe he could invite Karen for a friendly duel, he wanted to see more of her powers and that duel would be a good way to start already improving his skills.

Paz pulled out a watch as the blue light died down around her. Nine thirty AM, huh? Nine AM is after 12 AM, right? Well, no matter! Paz had planned for this. Well, not exactly planned, but she had herself covered.

Sometime last night she had woken up realizing that she had totally forgotten that she couldn't just sleep in, and quickly pulled out her quipo. It was already past 12:30, but she figured the student orientation wasn’t that important. She had already read all the pamphlets, after all. Besides, she can just ask her roommate (roommates?) if she missed anything important. In any case, she tied a knot for- well, she didn’t remember the time exactly, but it was some time after 12:30, and she got it right on the dot, so she would be fine. She then went back to sleep, showered, ate breakfast at the hotel she stayed in (which was… interesting? She probably should have just eaten at the school, but she figured she'd have many opportunities to do that) and leisurely made her way to the mess hall at the school. She figured most people were asleep or busy, as she didn't see many people on her way.

As she walked into the mess hall, the closed her eyes and began to tap into her magic. She figured she would come here, since it’d be a good way to get to know people, and she was hoping to get some good quality tea with milk (well, the way she liked it, it was more like milk with tea).

When she opened her eyes, it was chaos. The crowded room was full of terrified people, a pair of kids disappearing, and uuuuuuh some boxes with ears attacking some giant? Paz turned around and walked out as some official looking staff ran in. She figured she wouldn't get involved and just ask about it later.

Instead, she decided to go unpack her stuff in her dorm. When she walked out, she noticed there were more people out, and also that it was a lot darker outside. Oh yeah, that's right, the sun and moon correlate to time as well, huh? There’s a lot of stuff to get used to out here…

She eventually made it to her dorm, and from the looks of it she was the first one there. She found the bed closest to the bathroom and plopped her suitcase on it- it wasn't exactly heavy, as she didn't bring a whole lot, but it made her claim feel more official.

She started unpacking to pass the time- mostly clothing and various ropes, as well as a note from her mother than she pinned to the wall, and a stuffed rabbit she had as a child that she figured she’d keep. It made the place feel a little more like her own.

Morholt didn't take his ID back.

He stomped off without saying anything, leaving Hilda and the dense crowd of anxious students behind. The girl hadn't even noticed the amount of people around her until now, and suddenly it felt much harder to breathe. Everyone's eyes were on her, worried expressions and troubled looks plastered onto their faces. Hilda ran her fingers through her hair, breaking into a nervous sweat.

Then, someone laid their hand on her shoulder. Hilda jumped.

"I'm thinking that this is the first time you've been challenge to a duel, yes? If so, you probably don't know what you're getting into."

She was being challenged to a duel? But how? Since when?

I, uh... well, this is my first time duelling a stranger, yes...

Hilda was interrupted by one of the enforcers who informed her of dueling ground preparations, and the boy who attempted to comfort her began to speak of the terms of the duel she would have to consider. How could she have gotten into such a mess on her first day on campus? She began to tug at her hair slightly as she ran her fingers through it again, failing to reassure herself about the whole ordeal.

Finally, the crowd was dispersed and everyone returned to whatever business they were tending to. Hilda let out a long sigh, only now remembering the mess that had been splattered all over her clothes. Even with the terrifying presence of that giant of a student, it was no wonder everyone was gawking at Hilda as well. Her face flushed a bright red once she realised the filthy state she was in once again, and an even brighter red once she turned to face the boy she had the misfortune of presenting herself in front of. In her moment of panic, Hilda muttered a swift sorry before scuttling out of the mess hall. By the time she was outside and almost out of everyone's sight, she broke into a run back to her dorm room.

Hilda snuck into her dorm, assuming no one else had arrived yet. She took the opportunity to get dressed and unpack her things, making some minor arragements in the room she had occupied. She grimaced at her blood stained coat in the middle of cramming things into drawers, noting she was definitely going to need to shove it into a washing machine.

And soon, Hilda would be finished tucking her possession away. She stood in the corner of her bedroom and nodded, appreciating the cleanliness of it all. All she hoped is that it would look like this for the rest of the school year.

Hilda's spear and sword stood in a criss cross by her bedroom window, the light of a new day shining through the glass. She gripped the spear in her hand, already reminiscing about the incident from not too long ago. Hilda knew from the shock on everyone's faces that this was going to be a combat based duel, and Hilda had to go up against someone who stood two feet taller than she was. Suddenly switching into a fighting stance she thrust the spear into the air, making full use of the space her room provided. It was much smaller compared to the lavish accommodations of her own home, but it would do. Perhaps if there was a lesser known space of land somewhere else on campus, Hilda could use it for her daily morning exercises.

Performing a few more graceful sweeps with her spear, Hilda began to think of the duel she would soon have to engage in. As much as she didn't want to lose, Hilda didn't want to get severely injured either. She had fought many duels before, but rarely would it be against a face she didn't recognise. The tallest person she had ever battled was her 6'11 brother Burkhard, and this student was well over eight feet tall and about five times as muscular.

Hilda exhaled. There was no turning back now. Although some would have considered her actions in the mess hall as righteous, she had gotten herself into this ordeal by intervening in the first place. And if she wanted to scrape out of it alive, she was going to have to fight.

But first, sleep.

Theo gave a sigh in relief when he saw that the situation seemed to have calmed down rather nicely. He couldn't tell from here what exactly just occurred to end the bulk of the hostility, but it looked like this Morholt individual was no longer raring to fight. Now that the excitement filling the mess hall was dying down, the boy realized just how tired he was. He hadn't slept before coming to the academy like some other students, so he had now been awake for twenty hours straight.

"Thanks for the help, Iron. I'm going to head back to my dorm room and rest up before everything starts tomorrow," Theo said as he began compiling his breakfast dishes together for ease of transportation. Afterwards, he donned his overcoat and looked around for the dish drop off point. Luckily, it wasn't too difficult to spot, as a bunch of students were already heading in that direction having finished their own breakfasts. Theo began pressing on towards the drop off point himself, turning around briefly to say a quick farewell to his new friend before becoming lost into the crowd.

With that over and done with, he left the brimming breakfast building and started his trek towards the dorm building. It was a bit of a ways away, and being drowsy certainly wasn't assisting, but it only took about five to ten minutes of jogging regardless. He kicked the dust off his shoes out of habit once he arrived, then entered into dorm 2-A. Theo'd been hoping to quickly unpack his suitcases before resting, but at this point he was too tired to bother. Instead, he just pulled off his shoes, flopped onto the bed, and began dozing off.

Oh, crap! I forgot my thermos!
