And I'm really excited to start the new school year with my new classmates!

So the girl was new. That would explain why Lyra hadn't seen her around. She put her flute to her left hand and shook the girl's hand with her right. "I'm Lyra. It's nice to meet you, Freya."

"So are you new here?" Lyra added. "We've already got classes for three months. It's, ah..."

How did her months go by? It was a huge relief, in a way, to be able to manipulate and study the elements without her family looking over her shoulder, thinking her crazy. It was also a lot like wandering through the unknown wilderness, especially with the teachers giving them free reign on most things. It was wild, and kind of scary, but they were interesting, and she's got plenty of friends to-

Lyra noticed that her thoughts were running again. If she didn't reign it in now, they might stand there for hours. She smiled apologetically at Freya, and said "It's been a fun three months. Well, ah..." She thought about what to say. "It's lunchtime right now. I've some free time before study sessions later. Do you want to go, maybe, get something to eat in town? Have you been downtown?"

Freya

Hello love! So you're father and I decided that we're gonna enroll into this lovely academy where you can learn all sorts of cool new things, meet other people your age, and improve on your elemental skills! Don't worry, you'll love this school very much! They offer lots of opportunities for you to grow not just as an elementalist but also as an artist. Heck, that academy is where both me and your father went to and now you get to learn everything that we experienced there as students all on your own.

By the way, we forgot to tell you that they've already started their school year and by the time you get there, you'll already be three months late. Hey, don't give me that look! No, we didn't forget to tell you. Well, okay we did forget to tell you but that's because... it... yeah I got no excuse. Besides, we know you can catch up in no time! Love you, Sparkles!

Those were the exact words that Freya's mother told her when they were in the middle of a yoga class. She was focusing so hard on doing the right pose and trying not let her mom know she's the culprit who ate the leftover Chipotle that the only response she made was, "What?!"

If there's one thing she hates about her parents is that they're always trying something new. Like, always. Name one activity that you would like to try, they're already doing it plus a lot more. This attitude of theirs is the reason why she and Frey always move to a different school once they finished one school year on their present ones. A downfall of this is that Freya never really had solid friends but talking to new and different people every year is what gets her excited the most. Frey doesn't seem to be bothered by this since he's still friends with his classmates from two years ago.

The fact that her little brother has a more active social life than hers is what made her question her existence.

Freya observed her newfound friend, Lyra. She saw Lyra a while ago carrying a flute but with her up close Freya began to feel excitement as she already met another musician she can vibe with. She do noticed Lyra spacing out every once in a while, which didn't bother Freya because she met a lot of kids at the orphanage like Lyra. Most of them had harsh lives in the streets and somewhere worse, and also the things they did just to survive a day, which made them a bit traumatized as a result. Freya's family partnered with a bunch of certified psychologists to make sure they'll turn back to their once youthful and happy selves.

Wow, now I'm the one spacing out, Freya thought. She snapped back in time for her to hear what Lyra said about her being free for now. "A trip downtown for lunch? Well don't mind if I do! In fact, I'm really starving right now", Freya said with an earnest smile.

Jideh Basrah

@Arya10108909

Jideh gaped in open disbelief. She'd just... done it. Just like that. He hadn't expected a student of his skill level and experience to pull off a maneuver that seemed to have the flow and nonchalant nature of a teacher's own control of their element. He then continued to stare blankly when the food arrived and she began to dig in wholeheartedly. It was with a little bit of hesitation that he began to eat as well. His food, delicious though it was, was difficult to focus on. He was busy thinking about his tactic. That flower petal, if sufficiently energized could in theory...

He swallowed his last bite of sushi, drained his soup, and then clapped the bowl down harshly on the table. With a swiping motion, he placed the flower petal at an angle underneath the glass full of water, and then let the newly acquired energy surge forth into the plant. Growth blasted forth and his plan worked-

Almost.

A tendril of the flower rooted itself into the table and the stem shot up with force, jolting the glass up and sideways, water splashing out promisingly. Unfortunately the angle was off. Way off. The water splashed down the front of Amelia's shirt, soaking her clothing and presumably the floor under her feet. Jideh's plant withered away as did he, horror at the accident making him cringe into his seat, trying to sink back into the floor. Somehow, Jideh imagined himself retreating in behind his own petals, the way some flowers did in adverse weather. He hoped the tempest he anticipated wouldn't be as harsh as he feared.

Dia

Dia stepped into the kitchen, fully dressed and content. "I think I'm going to go to English today," she announced as she hugged Felix from behind. "Are you gonna go? If you're going to skip stuff today, maybe you could stop by my art class. I'm trying to make a mini ice sculpture... With my power shaping it. It's... Not going well."

She shrugged a little, looking at the clock. "We'll need leave soon to bake homeroom. Wonder what's on the agenda today..?"

8:30am
Dia stood outside the doorway to homeroom, holding Felix's hand. The start of the day, and the nervousness was setting in. She didn't like being away from Felix. He could handle her outbursts. He could calm her down.

She didn't like making so little progress compared to everyone else.

Drow

@CrabInATree

In anticipation she stared at the boy to see what answer he had for her. Drow was pretty nervous herself, trying to haul her first student in for private lessons and for free as it was. Drow nonchalantly held the notepad out for him to read, her arm growing tired from hanging out. The boy his expression changed when he received the word from Drow. Drow hastily pulled the notepad back to her chest as she kept starting at him in full focusing manner. He looked interested at least seeming from his brows.

He quickly gave answere back to Drow that he would like to join in on her private lessons. Drow turned the notepad back her way and wrote something quick on it showing it back to him while tilting her head to the side in questioning manner.

'Really, really?'

Her heart started knocking faster. She didn't actually expect a straight forward answere like that. He likely didn't even know what they were gonna be doing but he did like the idea... So maybe he was as excited as Drow really was. Drow her cheeks brightened up a little with a pinkish red color as a small smile appeared just above her scarf. She turned the notepad back her way again and showed him moments later.

'I'm glad you'd like to join me. I want to know what you have achieved up till now with your element, I want to know if you have any problems controlling your element or troubles with it and if you have any questions for me as teacher. You can do everything I just told right now or sometime later if you don't have time right now ^-^.'

She teared off the paper a moment later and gave it to Alex so that he could see what she wanted to know from him once more. Drow held the notepad in front of her lap with both hands as she waited for Alex to come back at her with his answers. Up till now she found the situation unraveling to be quite a change of pace from her everyday life.

8:30 A.M.

As the brown-haired girl approached homeroom, the weight on her back felt a little lighter. Or at least, she was able to ignore it to a better extent. Eir wasn't that heavy anyways, not more than a normal person of her size might actually weigh in reality. Plus it was actually...kinds adorable how she could just fall asleep just being carried on her back, cat-eared hoodie and hair and all acting as a comfortable pillow apparently. Course' if she told Eir that it might just elicit some sort of comment on things later, perhaps in front of people if anything. That would actually be rather awkward, enough to maybe break her usually relaxed self hen it came to it.

Though if she wanted to really see awkward, that Zeke guy was honestly an odd guy of sorts. Not that it was bad, just different is all. She had already shrugged it off anways, looking back at the incident as a strange but interesting bit of the morning. Though at least she hadn't had to say what her element was to the boy or anyone else back there, since it was her first time meeting him and all. That was still a topic she was touchy on around people she had just met, albeit Eir had proved worthy enough of her trust in telling her about that bit after a while.

"Alright, sleepyhead, we're almost to the room," Leanne said with some noticeable affection as she looked back at the sleepy Eir for a moment, a small smile coming into her face before she looked back forwards again towards the room itself.

It already seemed like two people were standing there outside of the room, holding hands at that. Heh. Maybe one of the couples that had formed already in the first three months? Still, she could almost feel the nervousness of one of them as she approached the doorway. Stopping for a second, she looked over at the couple and gave them a little nod.

"Hey there, feels like good morning, eh?" she said, attempting to drum up a moment of conversation before she would carry Eir over to a seat and place the smol sleepy girl in her usual sleeping position.

She had seen these people before a good few times in homeroom, but at the same time was having a little trouble recalling their names. It was a little embarrassing of all things, but she hadn't really been able to get to know them well either. So it made some sense that she'd struggle to remember who they were even if she could recognize their faces.

Diana Schwarzwald

@Pseudo Stygian@baraquiel

12:30 P.M.

"Hey!" a voice called out to the two girls who had been standing there talking, Diana walking over with a casual, one-handed wave as she approached them, "I was told i'm getting a roommate, then i was told she'd come this way."

Diana stopped talking for a moment after stopping next to Lyra and Freya, looking at the pair with her curious but fiery colored eyes for a few seconds with a casual expression on her face. These two girls were new to the redhead's eyes, not her temporary roommate or anyone she could recall having seen for the last three months. But perhaps that was what she got for coming to this school's busy campus with enough students to maybe not notice a few in the last three months of time. But since she'd been told about a new roommate, she wanted to come and see who it was during lunch. At least to get an idea of what this new person would be like, anyways.

"Hey there. Which one of you is.....Freya's her name? I'm Diana by the way," the teenager said in English to to the two girls, giving a light wave with her right hand to them, not mincing words as she got to the point of introducing herself and asking if either of the two was her new roommate.

Kanako Nagasaki

Time : 8.30 AM

Kanako walked casually to homeroom, wearing the usual uniform she wore to classes. She knew that students wearing school uniforms were rare in the academy as you were allowed to wear anything you want as long as it was proper. However, she still felt odd if she wore her casual clothes to classes. And besides, she liked the look of her uniform so she had no problem with wearing them.

When she arrived in front of the class however, she met a couple holding hands right in front of the door. It was Dia and Felix. Normally, she would be angry at such a shameless display but she had gotten used to it at this point. So she just went past them with a huff and sat down on her chair.

She looked around the classroom. It was still quite empty. However, Eir and Leanna were already there. And as usual, Eir was sleeping. Really, she could understand if the class was on 6 AM or something but this was already past 8. There should be no reason for you to be sleepy except if you pulled off an all-nighter the day before or something. Knowing Eir however, Kanako knew that the chance of that happening was zero to none.

Well, no sense in worrying about it too much. This academy has odd students all around. Teachers too. I suppose it came with being an elementalist.

Amelia Lycrosse

Time: 7:30pm (day before classes)

Amelia burst out laughing. Jideh's face was scrunched up like he was scared she was going to do something stupid- not that she could, anyway. Her powers had blacked out again. She really needed to avoid being in those situations. "I can't do anything to you, anyway," Amelia said softly. "C'mon, let's go home." She stepped up to the counter and requested the bill, paying for both meals. She then turned, linked her arm in Jideh's, and walked out the door, back though the tram station, all the way back to the Academy. The night sky was shockingly beautiful and Amelia smiled. It was so peaceful outside, but she drudged on to their shared suite. Amelia yawned. "I'm gonna go to bed early, mmk?", she told Jideh before collapsing on her bed and passing out.

Time: 7:50 am

Beeeeep. Beeeeeeeeep. Beep beep beep beep. Amelia's alarm clock was going off very loudly. She threw herself out of bed, tugged on clothing, picked up a brush, and began pulling at her hair with it. The brush made loud snarling noises, but did nothing for her hair. Naturally, Amelia screamed at it, throwing it to the floor before looking at the clothing she had on. Her outfit was a pair of sweatpants and a tank top, and while Mr. Hirsoi might dress like that, she certainly wasn't going to. (Well, not really. But anyway.) She stripped down again, this time putting on a cream button down shirt, her white jacket going over top. She finished it with a pair of jeans."Morning," she said, throwing together her stuff and scowling at her hair once more. It was despicably tangled. She picked up the brush again and began to pull.

~Eirwen~

@Crusader Lord@Hammerman@Old Amsterdam

Eirwen protested lightly as she was dropped into her seat as usual. For a few seconds she just sat there in the seat, the side of her face resting on the desk as she watched the doorway. Well, nothing odd there. What was odd were the two love-birds in the doorway standing awkwardly and otherwise being annoying. Tsk. She had half a mind to put ice under their chairs so it'd slip out from under them when they moved them. Too bad she wasn't particularly skilled with actually freezing things otherwise that'd be funny. Dia and Felix, were there names right? Dia was nice enough. Felix though? Oh boy she absolutely hated his sort of personality. Loud, unintelligent, and bleeegh. Of course, that was just her impression of him. She hadn't really interacted with him much, so she couldn't really be sure.

She was fairly certain she didn't care and at some point was going to tell him that just for giggles though. Actually, wait, no. Too much effort to go out of her way to do.

"Hmm~" Eirwen sat up, stretching as she at least attempted to look like she was awake. "Leanne, you have to tell me what hair products you use. Your hair smells lovely." She proceeded to lean on the desk with her elbows, resting her head in the palm of her hand. "Haaa....I hope today's class isn't difficult." She glanced over to Kanako, giving her usual neutral, sleepy expression.

Hm, come to think of it she didn't really know many other people in the class, aside from Leanne and Bhu that well, and Leanne more than Bhu.

...oh well, not like it mattered. Friends were tiring anyways. She could barely handle two! Any more and she really would be an adorable puddle of exhaustion.

"...what kind of pizza will it be?" She turned back to Leanne, asking about the free pizza in question.

Jideh Basrah

@Arya10108909

7:52 AM

Jideh jolted up out of bed, flailing out of his bed and landing on the floor with a thump. He blearily turned his head to look at the clock and winced when some bone in his neck creaked. Taking a deep breath he pushed himself into a seated position and saw that it was almost 8:00 AM. Who on earth was screaming at eight in the morning? Jideh, in boxers only, opened his door and stared across the common room. Of course his new roommate would be. He started mumbling some dirty things under his breath, things his mother might've cuffed him for if she'd hear him saying them as he closed his door and set to getting dressed.

Jideh dressed in all-purpose clothing, suited for a gardener, student, and type of teen who gave enough of a damn to not be a slob, but knew he didn't need to impress anybody. That translated to some beige cargo-pants that allowed him to remove the pant legs to create shorts, a white undershirt and dress shirt, and a long black coat. He decided to forego a tie because he had no impression that there were any formal events today, and as always he had his seed pouch in a pocket, trowel through his belt loop, and his father's work gloves stuffed in another pocket. Jideh grabbed his bag, took out his room key, and made his way out of the dorm.

"Morning." Jideh said, an afterthought as he opened the door before pausing... His stomach growled. He stuck his bag in the door, turned round and entered the kitchenette. He opened up the fridge and rooted around for the sandwich he'd prepared yesterday night. He'd intended to save it for lunch. Jideh began tearing into the sandwich with a vengeance, and did a double-take when he spotted a bag of assorted veggies just sitting in the shelf of the fridge door. He snatched those up too and then kicked the fridge close and high-tailed it out of the dorm. He did not want to be late for class.

Jordan Manilow had recovered from the injuries he'd sustained a few days ago, but only through extensive procedures carried out by the Academy's phenomenal medical staff. Even so, being subjected to voluntary manipulation of his blood and other tissues always left him feeling worn out. Based on the kinds of things that came out of his mouth while Jordan was under the influence of their anesthetics, not to mention the already stressful nature of the operations they'd performed, he could only wonder at the resilience of the doctors who managed to get hired at the Academy. All of his weariness had culminated with his injuries, which compounded the weariness he'd already been growing aware of lately. The doctors, deciding to take advantage of having him on the operating table already, had taken the initiative to...

No, best not to think about that now...

Jordan was performing morning stretches and warm-ups at the Elemental Academy Track and Field, located a short distance from The Shed, and which lay in the shadow of the central buildings at this hour of the morning. He'd instructed all of the students to show up at 9:00 AM sharp, and he was very interested in finding out how many students could take him seriously. Of course, he wouldn't give people who showed up on time a break. Hell, he'd scold people who showed up earlier than requested. Attendance had always seemed to Jordan to be a thing of absolutes. You either attended, or you didn't. All other things could be discarded when you took into account that what really mattered was merely being where you were supposed to be. Maybe it was Jordan's training, but the idea of everybody fitting into a place where they belonged and served their purpose to the best of their ability pleased him.

He contemplated this pleasure at conformity, growing quite philosophical as he ran through stretching his legs, arms, back, sides, neck, wrists, the works. So many people wrote off soldiers as having no mental capacity, or flexibility, and Jordan figured the reason why was obvious enough. Soldiers weren't called upon to give dialectical treatises on human nature, despite their having had some of the strongest distilled tastes of what it was to be human of any given individual. Jordan supposed it wasn't so much reflective of reality, but of the perception, and he had his doubts about being able to change the perception. Jordan had met his share of the "thoughtful soldiers" who read while they had recess, and composed poems or sang songs for their company between rotations. There was also the engineers, the coordinators, intelligence, logistics, and a plethora of intelligent people at work in the Forces. People with passions, interests, and hobbies outside of the martial domain. There were most certainly people whose defining interest was their obsession with the martial, but those were surprisingly infrequent, or at least more infrequent than you might expect. In the face of all these varied types of soldier, Jordan was left baffled at why the only soldier who remained in the forefront of people's minds was the brave, stupid but brave, foot soldier who acted as a martyr. It could be the romanticism, or the archetypal symbolism, or perhaps the general dearth of nuance to be found in the media, which was chiefly responsible for the way in which the military was depicted? He couldn't say for-

"Ow." Jordan winced, something in his back complaining very loudly, disrupting his train of thought. He laughed softly, his meditative state bringing out the side in him that Catherine had admired. Catherine... Jordan sighed and shook out all of his newly stretched muscles. He felt marginally better. There was of course one muscle that he never stretched anymore, but one that he itched to use. Jordan's eyes fell on the abundance of dust, dirt, soil, rock, and earth under his feet. He could feel it. Calling to him, reaching out for his touch, beckoning him to... what? Jordan was struck by how greatly his awareness had expanded, how much more he could feel in his element. Confusion was his first reaction, and he squatted down and brushed a hand along the ground. Shocks of information came to him, not surprising in their detail, as he'd always been capable of such as an Earth wielder. No, the truly mind-boggling aspect of what he experienced was the speed and breadth with which he acquired this information. For example... "There's a deposit of rose quartz, impurities of titanium and iron, roughly twelve meters by four meters by seven meters, directly underneath me at a depth of nine meters." Jordan whispered, more to himself than to anybody else.

Then before he could experiment further, the sensation of heightened awareness withdrew, like a sinking tide as abruptly as it had arrived. Mystified, Jordan walked over to his usual place by the stands, and climbed up into the support beams underneath. The gym teacher arranged his legs properly, and then swung himself to hang upside down from the beams, facing the direction of the central building, eyes closed. Kids had better arrive soon, Jordan thought, because the way things are going right now, they'll need all the training they can get.

Floating down to her classroom, Catherine unlocked the window and helped herself in, closing it behind her. Unslinging the pouch that hung from her shoulder, she took out what little class materials she carried. Homeroom was mostly self-driven. In the first few months, Catherine had lectured very briefly on philosophical concepts, starting with the basics of logic: if A is true and B is true, then the statement, 'A and B' is also true, things of that nature. From there, she explained how all logical arguments began with premises, assumptions, and that while an argument can be sound, if the premises are untrue, then the argument is sound but invalid. In other words, she wanted to break down the idea that there were 'right answers' and 'wrong answers'. From there, she loosely covered some basic schools of thought within philosophy, nothing too in-depth. At this point in time, she had assigned the first years to pick a school of thought that interests them the most, and in essence, to do their own research on it, which may or may not culminate in a final project at the end of the year. But for the most part, homeroom was about freedom, light conversation, and dreading the coming gym class.

Speaking of gym class. Though relations had evened back out to cordial professionalism between herself and Jordan, Catherine couldn't help but notice the injuries, the winces of pain he thought he had hidden from her, and the way he behaved around the headmaster. Though she didn't pry, she couldn't get it off her mind. Putting the thought aside, Catherine unlocked the door and sat back down at her desk, waiting for the students to start trickling in.

As Leanne carried Eirwen off, ShiZhen looked at her watch and realized the time. "We should be heading to class soon too!" She said to Bhu and Zeke. ShiZhen held out a hand to Zeke in case he needed to be lead. Though ShiZhen knew he wasn't blind, he did occasionally need help staying on track and not getting distracted or lost.

School life was exciting for ShiZhen. She had picked a focus on practical science, though she couldn't decide between environmental sciences or chemistry. She would pick environmental sciences if she wanted to learn more about meteorology and how to control the weather, which was tempting since she did have a small mood cloud following her around everywhere now, but chemistry was also extremely exciting since the universal solvent that was water had such a large influence on reactions. For the time being, her focus was theoretical science.

As for homeroom, she had picked the obvious choice of 'utilitarianism' as her focus subject.

"What did you two pick for your 'philosophy school of thought' research project?" ShiZhen asked, curious.

Still slightly bemused by meeting new people, it took Zeke a little while to realise what Braids was talking about, or even that they did need to go to class. "Um..." He caught up with her, and had a small moment of wonder whether it was okay to hold her hand. He knew the way to the proper classroom by now. Or at least he thought he did. Zeke put a hand on Braids' shoulder, walking with his arm across her shoulders. "Illuminimationist." He was pretty sure he'd said that wrong, but he couldn't really remember all the 'isms' and 'thisms'. He'd picked it because it was about light, or at least he thought it was. "I think it's about how everything is light and some stuff is just darker."

When they got to the class, he immediately looked to Viola's seat, next to his, but she wasn't there yet. So he sat in his usual spot and put his head on his desk, looking around. Teacher was at the desk, but he didn't know which one. Was she the airy teacher or a different one? She was wearing different clothes, but that didn't mean anything. "Braids," He whispered. "Same teacher?" She'd know. He still found it amazing sometimes that people could look at someone and just know who they were without help. His fingers flipped over his camera's screen, finding the picture of Viola on the fountain.

Watching as Eirween and Leanne took off towards class, Bhu couldn't help a small grin as she shook her head. Her friend was definitely a unique one. She turned her attention back to Zeke and ShiZen just in time for Shi to announce that it was time for class. Raising a brow, she watched as the girl held her hand out for Zeke to hold. When he didn't take it and instead slid his arm around her shoulders, Bhu couldn't hide a slight grin.

The trio soon made their way to homeroom where ShiZen pondered about their research project. Before she had a chance to respond, Zeke announced his subject focus. It made sense for him to do research on light, as it was his element. It was one of the best ways to fully understand what they could be eventually capable of. The boy had made a smart decision. But then, so did Bhu. "I chose Ecopsychology. Apparently it's the relationship between people and nature. Seemed like the perfect fit."

She walked into the room after the pair and took a seat in the middle of the room. Reclining back in the chair, she let out a breath and studied the other people in the room. Her hands itched to get back to the sand. She soon found herself looking up at the clock, counting down the moments until Gym class. Bhu knew their Gym teacher had an affinity for sand as well, and she found herself looking up to him a lot. She hoped that one day she could be even better than he was.

Alex had the feeling that the new teacher was almost as nervous as he was in a lot of ways. Somehow, that made him feel better. She seemed very pleased that he had agreed to the extra lessons, she even smiled a little bit. That was the most emotion he had seen from her and it actually made him feel good. She seemed, well, a lot like Alex. Maybe all lightening elementalists were this way. It seemed like a rather rare element, so maybe it effected them all in a similar manner?

Alex looked at the watch on his wrist checking the time, 8:13. He didn't have time to start lessons now, still, maybe he should giver her a little idea of what he could do. "Homeroom is about to start. So maybe after classes today? Oh but I should have time to show you a little. I am having trouble I guess you could say. I understand the theory behind it and what I'm supposed to do. But I just cant seem to control the lightening very well."

He took a few steps back, as a safety precaution, and then continued. "Here's what I mean." Concentrating, Alex looked down at both of his hands. He steadied his breathing and relaxed his body. He could feel the the electrical pulses in his body. Feel the potential power in his finger tips just waiting to be called upon, so he did just that. Slowly at first, spark started to form around his fingertips. Scattered at first, they quickly began to form a steady stream of electricity between his fingers. This was easy, making electricity didn't take a lot of effort, it was the part that came next that he struggled with.

Alex pushed the electricity away from his body and towards the empty gap between his hands. The bolts met in the middle, crackling slightly as they collided. Pushing against the lightening with his mind, he forced the bolts to form a ball. With both hands he had found that he could do a little better then just one handed, so the ball of electricity became roughly baseball sized. It wasn't anything huge or impressive though, at least not to Alex. Could he do better? He tried to increase the size, but as he did the lightening seemed to push back against him, refusing to be bound. With a sudden zap the ball of lightening disappeared.

Damn, I lost it. He thought to himself, feeling disheartened by his failure in front of the teacher. At least he wasn't tired. He had heard that a lot of students got hungry or tired after using their powers, but that didn't happen a lot to Alex.

"Sorry, that's about the best I can do. I know I can do better but..." Alex trailed off looking down. Would she even want to teach a failure like him? She was probably better off concentrating on more promising students.

Jeremy lay on his bed in the room he'd been assigned, rolling from side to side as he tried to relax a little, and failed spectacularly. He wasn't entirely sure if it was just excitement, or also a bit of actual nervousness, but he honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit of both. After all, he was about to do something he... well, lets just say he hasn't always been successful at.

He was waiting to meet his new roommate.

Now, this wasn't to say that he was unfriendly or anything. Everyone who knew him knew that he was all too willing and excited to meet new people, even if he was always a little shy at the start. However, that was all too often the problem itself. His excitable nature would often push people away without any intention on his part. It had taken a while for him to actually notice this, but you can only be called "loud and annoying" so many times before you start to catch on. Still, Jeremy Lindall was not one to hide his personality behind a mask, and while he hoped that whoever he was rooming with wouldn't hate him for it, he wouldn't pretend to be someone else for them if they did.

In the end, it really wasn't a difficult choice between being fake and being alone.

"Wonder whats on the agenda today.."

That question was on his mind too, frequently it seemed. The Academy gave students a lot of freedom when it came to classwork by making certain classes overlap with choices on which to go to depending on a students interests. For the most part Felix had been avoiding being in the classrooms and stuck to doing homework in his room.
For the longest time that was all he could ever do.. nothing but that room. Stuck in his fathers home. Thrown to the side too rot.

Dia was breaking through his old habits with the patience of a saint. In return he'd begun to see her as more of an angel every day.

"I know its Gym class for me. I'll swing by the art room, for sure, but I might skip regular classes and come back here for a nap."

A sly wink in her direction made it obvious he didn't expect to nap alone.

Outside the pricacy of their shared room he was a different person. Quiet, brooding, wound up tight. Holding Dias hand was the only time he ever really let down his glare. Though not for long.

Anybody that snickered or giggled at them got a threatening glare back.

@Crusader Lord

Felix turned to look at the latest noise and bit his tongue. Dia was the one making friends and he didn't want to drive them away, but that didn't mean he needed to be social.

"Mm."

A nod in the girls direction was all he offered.

Dia offered a small apologetic smile towards... Well, shoot. She couldn't remember their name. That was embarrassing. Maybe she should try a little harder.

At least she'd remember the name sooner or later.

With a slight sigh she leaned into Felix. "Mornings can only be so good when someone never wants to wake up," she said playfully, lightly poking Felix in the side. "An issue that seems fairly common, ah haha..." she trailed off nervously.

Taking initiative, Dia pulled Felix towards a seat in the back. She knew her be uncomfortable in the middle, let alone the front.

As they passed Zeke, she gave him a small ruffle of his hair. "She'll be here soon, Zeke," she said softly, before taking her seat a few rows behind him.

"Hi!" Lyra said instinctively. The girl who just came looked familiar. With that strong build and that fire in her eyes, Lyra was sure she must have seen her in gym class, at least. One of those athletic girls who can do laps without breaking a sweat. And then the girl said her name, and Lyra's memory lit up.

Of course, Diana. The one with the German last me, which Lyra remembered particularly because she couldn't ever figure out how it's spelled. "I'm Lyra! We had gym class together." She nodded in Freya's direction. "That's Freya, she's new. We're, uhh," What was it again? Oh yeah, "we're just going downtown for lunch." She glanced at the new girl. So they're roommates? Maybe they'd like to get to know each other a bit? Should she ask her to come, or should Freya do it? Hmmmm

Freya

12:43 PM

Scary.

That's the first word that came to Freya's mind when she saw who her roommate was. She's honestly relieved that the girl doesn't know who she is; the feeling was comparable to that of a human hiding from a ferocious dragon. Speaking of dragons, Freya can compare the girl to that of dragons because of the strong I-don't-give-an-f aura coming from her, both admirable and again scary. But then of course the ever-kind Lyra decided to tell Diana that Freya is her roommate. She smiled but she's secretly screaming on the inside.

You know what, Freya told herself, I ain't gonna let my fear get the best of me. Like how the saying goes: new school, new me! Besides, how awesome it would be to have a dragon as a roomie and a potential B.F.F.? Oh yeah, I should stop calling her a dragon, that's probably mean.

Freya stepped forward, shook one of Diana's hands while giving her an earnest smile. "Heya roomie! My name's Freya! Like what Lyra said, I am pretty new here. Okay scratch that, I'm totally new here because of how late I enrolled but I hope you can help me catch up with the lessons", she said while she scratched her chin and laughed awkwardly.

"Aaaand," Freya locked her arm to Lyra's, "like what Lyra said, we're going downtown to buy lunch which is the perfect opportunity for us three to get to know each other! What do you say? Join us, pretty please?"

Ethan Conrad

8:30 am

As Ethan rounded the corner to his homeroom class, he was surprised to see the doorway to class was currently obscured by two of his fellow students; Dia Sidonia and Felix Williams. He didn’t know them personally, but he had enough classes with the couple to know their names, and to know that Felix was not the friendliest. For that reason Ethan thought it best he wait for them to go in rather than try to get past them, but he couldn’t exactly just stand in the middle of the hall watching them like a creep. Instead he leaned against the wall and pulled out his phone pretending as if he were texting someone while occasionally glancing up to see when the coast was clear.

Eventually a few others passed through and once they did Dia pulled Felix into the classroom. Time to go. Slipping his phone into his pocket and adjusting his tie, Ethan tried to act casually as he walked in still attempting to appear as though he had not been waiting for them or in any hurry at all. Unfortunately for the young elementalist, his lack of initiative had allowed his usual seat to be taken by Bhu Adamina. Completely caught off guard by this break in his routine Ethan froze up leaving him unintentionally staring directly at Bhu for a few good seconds before snapping out of it. Looks like he’d have to find a new seat for the day.

Glancing around the room, Ethan looked for a seat that wasn’t next to anyone, but also wasn’t secluded. He didn’t want to appear intrusive by sitting with any of the established groups, but also didn’t want to single himself out as some kind of “loner”. In the end he picked a seat that was one away from Kanako Nagasaki as that seemed to be the most ideal spot.

Cautiously taking his seat, Ethan glanced around one last time to see if anyone had issue with his decision in desks. Nope, everything seemed- SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEAK As Ethan leaned back his chair, it unleashed an ungodly “squeak”. Sitting there eyes wide and darting back and forth, Ethan slowly leaned forward hoping his subtle movements would keep his chair from squeaking. It did not. Instead it only drew it out in short bursts. SQUEE-EEE-EEE-EEEEEAK

Once he was sitting up and the horrendous squeaking was over, Ethan simply slouched down and hoped nobody would say anything before homeroom began.
