Alexander Polawski

Location: Outside Eden, 15 --> Inner side of 15 wall, water's edge
Skills:Navigation

The wall stood rock solid in front of him, not giving a damn on how long Alexander's day had already been and certainly not going to "Open Sesame" on him. Alexander looked at the wall nonetheless, left and right, trying to think the best course of action. One thing that became rather apparent quickly, was the futility in climbing it; he was still catching his breath after that little dance with the undead, so how was he, a 58 year old vet going to climb a wall that Thalia couldn't? At least he thought she hadn't climbed it, for the alternative seem more likely.

The vet made his way down to the right of the wall, soon coming to the end which met the water's edge. If he wasn't mistaken, this meant that he was getting mighty fine and close to the heat of the action, both in regards to the map they all looked at outside of the golf course and in relation to the sound of combat. Yeah, one could argue it wasn't a true battlefield until the tanks started firing. But that only meant Alex had to get his arse moving.

And to do that, he had to get in the water. Great, just great. But did he have a choice? If this was the route Thana and Thalia took, it was perhaps the best one, and time was running out. So just like during the seasonal monsoon, the vet rolled up his pants, untied his boots and held them with one hand, held his axe with the other and began wading. But unlike the tropical storms of water, this was cold, even for a Chi-Town native.

Hadn't it been for the strict need of silence, he probably would have sworn quite loudly. And for that matter, he wanted to radio up Kiwi and the gang to get a situation report. What would he expect? That they were engaging the enemy? He already knew that. So he kept his gob shut, even as the water began to stiffen his eldering knees. As Alexander waded forward, he hooked his foot on something, almost causing him to fall over flat on his face into the icy water. But he managed to stay up somehow, and kept on moving. His only concern at this point were that he was so cold that he hadn't felt something sharp cut into his feet and making him bleed, which would only be a pain in the ass later. But no time to whine, nobody listened to the grunts either way.

When he finally stepped out of the water, he was dripping like Niagra falls; water, not blood luckily. He got back on dry land as quickly as possible, which was good, because he starting to shiver. At this point he only hoped that nobody saw him like that, neither the Eden folk or Thana and Thalia. Back on dry land, Alex pulled his boots back on again and tried to get back in the game. Sooner or later he would have to find the Two T's and some action.

Ash Holloway

Location: Outside of the Hordebuster, Sprayberry Rd, in front of train tracks
Skills: Stealth

Careful steps brought Ashton closer and closer to the obstacle that impeded the Hordebuster from ferrying himself and his two charges to the hopeful safety of their initial bugout point. There were the scattered numbers of the Dead still around, and while their attention was directed mostly toward the continuing sounds of ruination and the column of dark smoke that used to be their home, Ash knew full well and from very recent experience that their attention could be diverted to something much closer if one wasn't careful.

The soft crunch of boots in snow wasn't exactly what Ash had in mind as he carefully closed the distance. It couldn't be helped, really, and the Dead didn't seem to particularly notice their approach. Yet. Always yet. It was an eventuality; if you were out in the world, sooner or later, you had to run. That was all there was to it. He would just prefer to make it a short run to someplace safe rather than a long run into parts unknown. Finally, thank whatever deity still checked in on this world, Ash made it to the other side of the looming obstacle. As expected, there were train tracks. There was snow. And there were Dead. Just a couple of them, but the former Army Captain had no desire to engage in a melee on icy ground when there was no prize at the end of it.

His mind still on his surroundings, not to mention the formerly living people within said surroundings, Ash walked up to the huge white wall to give it a closer inspection. He prodded it with the tip of his knife and watched the snow fall away. A little more prodding, a little more snow fell. Then it hit him, and the realization issued in a whisper: "There's nothing here." Nothing. Freak snow drift. How it got to be this high was beyond him, but the Buster would chew through this. Again in quiet voice, he looked back to Niesha, motioning to the truck. "we're done here. Let's get back."

Caarefully, Ash began moving back to his Hordebuster.

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Near Eden, Golf Course (Other side of wall from 15)
Skills: Stealth, Survival

Thalia had just finished lacing up her hiking boots when she noticed movement in the water near to where she had emerged, herself. It was Alexander, of course. It couldn't be anyone else, unless a random Edenite decided to take a swim around their own fortifications. It was difficult as hell trying to be quiet when entering or exiting water, so she couldn't really fault the old man for it. It was almost as difficult as evading notice while dealing with a closed door or walking across a room scattered with scrap paper. With caution, she neared the waterfront and waved briskly to get her teammate's attention.

As soon as it was possible to do so, Thalia moved to meet Alex behind the cover of the treeline. "Good news: Haven't been spotted yet. Bad news: Navy girl's nowheah in sight. I'm thinking she got the idea to move ahead after the tank fired off." She paused in her situational briefing, ear tilted toward the woods ahead of them, "More bad news: I don't think we're alone." If it was Thana creeping her way back to meet up with them after a quick scout, great. But optimists got themselves dead, fast. As a confirmed cynic, Thalia wanted to make absolutely certain of what she was dealing with, especially if an alarm could be raised that might tip off Eden that the tan was merely Part One of a two part plan to kill as many of them as possible and feed off of the corpse of their little corner of Hell.

She slipped the shield off of her back and braced to handle it lightly and away from her body. It was stealth she was after, and masking the human silhouette, If there was one thing that tipped off the senses to a quiet enemy incursion, it was the outline of the human form. Her gun was still at the ready, but now she slipped her machete into her shield hand, holding it as a backup weapon. Chances were, if she needed to use a blade, she would have a little time to ready it. "Alright... Mugs, you any good at not being seen?" The whisper was barely audible.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Sprayberry Rd.
Skills: None

Riley remained standing where she was as she watched Ashton and Niesha making their way closer towards the massive snow drift, she was half expecting a massive monster of a vehicle to plow through it and kill them all. Or if there was a hummer with a machine gun mounted and hidden inside the snow and started shooting them up. Riley ran a hand through her hair as she looked around remaining quiet and kept alert. Then Riley caught movment coming back from the snowdrift and saw that it was both Ashton and Niesha coming from behind the snowdrift.

"So are we clear?" Riley asked taking a step forward towards Ashton, still noting that he didn't really answer her question as Riley looked towards Niesha getting back to the Hordebuster. "Okay i'll take that as a yes then." Riley said as she turned and started to make her way in, and opened the door to the hulking beast. Riley laid her crossbow next to her in the seat as Riley then climbed up taking the shotgun seat and started to strap herself in.

Raymond Mendoza

Location: Mary Ann Street -> Cutting Through Yards to MLK Dr.
Skills: N/A

Raymond was lagging behind a little bit, mainly because he had pretty much one leg that was working still hated that he had fallen down into that damn hole. Ray looked towards Amelia and Sam, hearing Amelia and gave her a slight nod, he'd rather follow the roads it would be a lot easier on his foot. However that would take a lot longer to get to a place that would be safe for the night, sighing slightly Ray looked around. There weren't any walkers that were close by which was a good thing at least, they were probably all converging on Newnan now.

Ray looked at the icy road once more, he didn't really want to experience that slip and slide again even though he got through that unscathed unlike Sam. He still felt bad that he probably ended up bringing her down with him, and that's what caused it to happen, Raymond was breathing heavily as he cautiously started to cut through the yard. "So what do you guys want to talk about?" Ray asked, thinking that maybe if they talked about something it would at least make their walk a little bit better.

Samira

Location: Mary Ann Street, Newnan
Skills: Anaerobic and Aerobic Capacity

"Anything but food," Sam chuckled as she looked over at her one-legged companion. They were not in immediate danger anymore, as they had managed to get far away from the horde of undead horde that had been close to them earlier. Perhaps a little talking would do them good, and Ray was right, it would make this treacherous walk much less tedious. And besides, Sam was a little tired of hearing her own ragged breaths - through the sound of her footsteps in the snow was somehow relaxing.

As she continued walking, Sam almost lost her footing as she stepped on another long patch of ice and snow. She quickly righted herself as she used her axe to keep her balance, though the sudden movement caused her ribs to sting a little. She glanced down at the wound and was happy to see that it hadn't bled through the bandages yet. Amelia had done a good job of patching her up. Sam figured she would need to change them in the next few hours, hopefully under a roof this time so she could get a closer look at the lacerations. "Are you both from around here? Did you know each other before all of this started?" Sam asked, curious but not suspicious.

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Methodist Church Parking Lot
Skills: N/A

Tiffany followed Jack's lead, careful to keep an eye on the Walkers. None of them were close enough for them to worry about, but still, they were often surprised as to where they popped up. Who knows? One of the cars they checked could have one inside of it. Tiffany patted her knife, just in case. It proved a useful tool thus far, considering she was without her bow. Once things were settled in Arnco Mills (hopefully with the others) she could get to work on fashioning a new bow and arrows.

And maybe add in some knife training.

Tiffany scanned the parking lot. She wasn't sure what she would be looking for. Even a wreck of a car could drive. They just needed a key and some gas to get them going. "Check for keys first. We can worry about gas after. Or a working car we can jump start. If you know how. I don't. Sadly. Stupid me decided being a lawyer would pay off."

Update

Please remember to update your locations in your header with roads and such. (I will update general maps when you all are done and off your current one. Let me know when you are at the edge!)

Eden

Location: Eden: 22, Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and 22, Behind the Tank
Skills: Survival, Tank Operations, Land Navigation, Hunting, Rifle, Sniper Rifle

Lola was having a Aces of a good time right then. It wasn't every day she got to get her tank all dolled up and take it somewhere fun. Sure, it was on the road every day but today was special. Today they actually got to fire the grand cannon. That made things really damn fun. Hell it was going to be one of the last times someone would probably every hear or see a tank being fired. For some of these fuckers it would be the last thing they ever saw. Shit, it wasn't a bad way to go out.

"Fuck yeah, think Navy will make it. Wouldn't be surprised if Mugs did as well," she commented in passed as they came to a fork in the road. She had no doubt that Thalia was going to make it, but she wasn't going lay odds on it. That was just damn stupid. Like getting a tattoo of your boyfriends name on your ass. You did that shit, you knew sure as fuckers flew that that asshat would do something the next day that would make you dump his sorry bum.

Gavin wasn't going to lay odds either but then again he didn't know that anyone was having a discussion about who would survive and who wouldn't right then. Right then his mind was one two things and two things only. One was taking care of this shit and the other was locating his sweet Strawberry Wine. First thing was first though. He was getting tired of hearing the clink and clank of bullets against the side of the tank he was walking behind. It was time to take some of these fuckers out. Didn't matter if in the grand scheme of things if they were innocent or not. He would adopt the Marine code - kill them all and let Jesus sort them out. He normally wasn't like that but this was a dark moment and he wasn't seeing the light right then.

Thana knelt down low, she still wasn't seeing Alex or Thalia but they had to be coming up soon. If they weren't she would have to get a move on and quickly but she had a few more moments. At least one more that was since all the people coming out of Eden seemed to be heading Northwest out of the back end of the building. That was were the explosion came from and Thana could only assume that it was Lola and Gavin and Beatrice. Pulling out her pistol she kept it ready though, she could have taken out one or two probably from where she was but she didn't want the entire crowd suddenly coming at her. She did want to survive this.

"Alright girl, hold fire, see a building. That should be it. Let's get closer before we knock," she laughed slightly. She didn't worry about the fuckers wasting bullets on them. And it was a good thing she didn't. It seemed that Gavin that had covered as when she looked through her visor she spotted one drop and then another and then another. Each one about three seconds after the one before it. Seemed the man was sticking with his sniper rifle, which was slower to pop off rounds but damn, the accuracy was sweet in her mind as she watched blood trickling from between the eyes of one of them.

"Speed Bump!" she laughed as she rolled over one.

Thana slowly took a few steps forward and pushed the brush aside to get a better vantage point. She could almost see where the tank was now but as she turned her head she could see the main Eden Building. Taking a deep breath she had to make a choice. Hold, move towards the tank, or go it alone in the Eden building itself. After a moment she made her choice. It was time to move. In three... Two... One...

Amelia Payne

Location: South of Mary Ann St.
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

Amelia's movement was starting to slow down once more, but she kept moving as the others spoke.” I do not know...” Was her reply to Ray. She wasn't exactly thinking very well right now, her head was screaming to shut down so she can sleep and frankly even the fumes on which she was running by now were running out. Maybe a little talking would keep her focused for a little while more.” How about what will be the thing we want to do once we get out of danger?” Amelia proposed as she shuffled forward. Ice, snow, backyards and at least there weren't walkers close to them quite yet.

“No... I came here later... we met some time ago on the road...” She mumbled a reply to Sam. Technically to be fair they knew vaguely each other before coming to Newnan, but that was like a day, during the Franklin events. Before that Amelia came from far away. It all seemed like a lifetime ago now.

While they were talking she reached the end of the next building. She was keeping up the pace for the moment still and she can only hope she wouldn't drag back down anytime soon. On the noise side of things, she was keeping it low for the moment, but soon she'd need to take a little bit of rest. As they were coming to the edge of the building there was a walker on the right of them.” Sam... A walker... be ready if it comes after us.” She said to the other woman. If the walker got closer they'd have to kill it. Frankly Amelia wasn't sure if she had the strength to pull a proper bat swing again.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and 22
Skills: Tank Gunner Amateur

Beatrice snickered slightly at Lola's choice of words. Yes, knocking was exactly what they were about to do. While Gavin was in a rather dark place, Beatrice had actually found a little bit of a light in the darkness. She didn't make friends very easily, but she was enjoying Lola's company. She then made the split second decision that she'd see if she could stick around with the tank operator. She didn't owe anything to the former people of Newnan and they didn't owe anything to her. Settlements went up in flames - it sucked but it happened. Newnan wouldn't be the first or the last.

She looked through the scope, seeing the building that Lola had mentioned - as well as noting the people slowly dropping. Gavin was still alive and kicking, then. Everything seemed to be proceeding according to plan. It made her wonder how long ago Newnan could have taken out Eden, if all that was required was a tank. There had to be other tanks around Georgia somewhere - probably on some military base, she imagined. It was too bad that Ryan wasn't here to see this - but the luck of the Irish had to run out eventually.

Jack Hudson

Location: Parking Lot Behind the Mt. Zion Methodist Church
Skills: Survival, Pistol, Scavenging

Jack shook his head. "Jump stahting? Think you mean hot wihing, Tiff," Jack observed. He didn't have that particular skill set unfortunately. He had been a cop - a vice cop - and it never had been relevant in his line of work. Back when the outbreak first started, Sutton had been the one to hot wire the cars. It had never occurred to him that he would be without her eventually, but she had died. And now, now he was without the person he knew to be his soulmate - Tatiana. He let out a bit of a sigh as it began to weigh heavily on his mind once more. He wanted to say that he'd see Tatiana again - but it was beginning to feel more and more unlikely as time went by.

At least there weren't any walkers in their immediate vicinity. Jack drew his pistol and carefully walked through the parking lot, making sure to not slip on the ice. His suspicions were confirmed - no walkers here. He could spot a few out in the distance but they had time. He lowered his pistol before beginning to take stock of what they had available to them. From his time as a cop, he remembered that keys in common vehicles tended to be kept underneath the visor - but he doubted that rule would apply here. Hopefully if they found a key to a car, the engine would still be working. He wouldn't be surprised if they were in desperate need of TLC.

"I'll wohk my way towards you, giving them a look ovah," Jack said, before walking towards the far end of the parking lot.

Alexander - Thalia

Location: Near Eden (18 -> 22)
Skills: Stealth, Survival, Shield, Sharp Weapons, Navigation

Finding Thalia was easier than he had expected, seeing her waving at him to get his attention. That was one T down, another T to go. Alexander, now back in his boots, made his way quickly up to group up with Thalia as she began the briefing. The Blues going off like that was only a halfway surprise to him, something that was concerning but not directly endangering to their task. The fact that Thana thought they weren't alone however, was. Alexander couldn't hear anything at first, but then he could swear he made out the faint sounds of movement in the trees. The vet pulled out his 9mm to check it, holstering it again as he grabbed his axe. Compared to Thalia, he felt brutish with an axe compared to the silent machete.

For a moment he wondered if she thought so too when asking if he was any good not being seen, possibly refering back to his little musical-incident. But the moment passed, and he thought of it as a serious question. With a self-dissapointed look and the universal sign of "No", Alexander silently shook his head. He had been the one being silently stalked by Charlie, not the other way around. He still couldn't see any hostiles, but kept looking for the smallest sign to point them out. An enemy that would meet the end of his axe if unfortunate enough, which was silent 'enough'.

A grim look took hold of Thalia. Not the sort of look that she had given Alexander earlier in the day; that had been more rooted in annoyance. This was more of a contemplative, tactical assessment of their situation based on what she knew of his capabilities, her own, and what they had on hand. Guns were right out. Last resort, and in a retreat. Their cover hadn't been blown yet, and if she had anything to say about it, it wouldn't be. Whomever this person or persons were, they had to be silenced before she and Alexander made their move. Sneaking around wasn't the best option.

"Alright, I need to handle this quiet." she said at barely a whisper. "Then we gotta to find that Navy chick." It was a truth, or at least it was the plan. Hopefully nothing bad had happened to Thana. It was likely that she wasn't discovered yet, otherwise there would be a bigger Edenite presence out this way, she figured. But she'd better have a damn good reason for abandoning her group behind enemy lines like this. "Hey, when I go out a ways, could you throw something small into the water? Out that way?" Thalia pointed out into the lake, up the bank near where she heard the noise. If this guy wasn't distracted by the cannon fire, she wanted any attention directed away from her position.

Splitting up the party was not something Alexander wished to repeat, but he guessed he understood Thalia's way of thinking. If she could be the quiet one and do her business in silence, he should be far away as not to give away her position. Hopefully this time they wouldn't be all by themselves like on the golf course, because he was not sure if pushing their luck like that would pay off more than once. Then again, taking out that Edenite seemed easier than crossing the snowy golf course then.

"She can't be too far. She needs us." was Alexander's silent reply to Thalia, hoping he was right. And then she came up with a simple plan. Simple, but one would be surprised on how many times a simple plan worked. Alexander looked around his feet, finding a stone just a little smaller than his palm and picking it up, feeling its sharp and rough edges against his skin. Looking back up at Thalia, he gave a determined look and a signal of his thumb and index finger connected. "Affirmative."

"Yeah..." breathed Thalia. She gave a quick scan of the ground around her, noting where the snow was present and where it was not, likewise for leaf litter. It was an easy thing to lose track of and one of the surest ways of getting herself noticed. Slowly at first, she began a zig-zag path over toward the sounds of rustling footfalls, quickly building speed as she continued. It didn't take long until she stood in a midpoint between Alexander and the source of the noise. It was a single man, probably out walking the perimeter when the TANK fired off a round and got everyone's attention. He was alone. Armed, but alone. And to echo Thalia's luck recently, he was standing on the other side of a mass of fallen, exposed leaves. The second she set foot to approach, she would be spotted. All she could do now was get as close as possible undetected and wait for the situation to change. This would be soon, or they would have to make their own opportunity.

Thalia's newly acquired Beretta would be counterproductive right then, so she tucked it back away. She moved her cutlass-bladed machete over to her dominant hand and tensed to move quickly from behind her cover. She could barely see Alexander at this point, but she could see him. Hopefully, the older man could see her, too. Thalia motioned with to him, signalling that she was ready.

With Thalia gone like the wind, making her way towards that special Edenite like a silent leafe blowing away, Alexander was struggling to keep her in sight. She was stealthy, he had to give her that, like a camouflaged sniper crawling his way into position to pull of the perfect shot in a few days time. Regardless of past events, he was glad to have her on his side. He fumbled with the rock on his hand, as if getting to know it as a friend that would save his life someday, waiting for a signal. Too early or too late, and Thalia's cover would be blown faster than a F-4 Phantom dropping something bad on Charlie.

For a second the vet thought he had lost her, narrowing his eyes in attempt to localize her again when she darted back into sight. She gave him the signal. Alexander clutched his rock tightly, stretching his good arm way back before thrusting it forward, throwing the rock as best he could, like chucking frags inthe jungle. It hurt a little actually, most likely from the cold still not giving up on him, but it worked. He hoped it would, as the rock finally hit its mark with a satisfying sound.

The nanosecond that the sound of the rock hitting water reached Thalia's ears, she was off at a sprint. There was more ground to cover than she preferred, given the circumstances. Between the distance and the minefield of crunchy things underfoot, she didn't bother to hope for a cleanly undetected approach. This was all about nailing the poor bastard before he could alert others to their presence. In seeming slow motion, the Edenite's head whipped back around, eyes locking with Thalia as she pounded out the last few steps toward him. Her blade lanced toward his ribcage with the slightest, stabbing arc, using the shield as a steadying counterbalance to the force of her strike. The point made connection and sank into the man, but with great resistance - it was as if he were were armored beneath his plain-looking jacket. He had begun to yell something, a potential bellow cut short at an exhalation of a loud "H" sound as if he were about to call attention to his location with a "Hey!" or scream "Help!" before the machete bit into him.

His wound was not mortal, sadly. It was painful, but he was still in the game as he proved by grabbing Thalia's arm and raising his gun. Before the barrel aligned with her, Thalia gave a quick jab with her shield arm, bashing the side of the man's face with the steel rim. The machete stayed lightly embedded in the Edenite's side, pulling away from her grasp as he stumbled back, closer to the water. The last thing that she wanted was for there to be too much distance, especially where a gun was concerned. Thalia pressed forward, slamming him in the head again and dropping the bastard to the ground. With one hand on the side and one on the handle, the half Latina shieldmaiden lived up to her title by bringing the rim of the shield down over and over, bashing a distorted, bloody canyon into the downed man's cranium.

Alexander couldn't see much of Thalia's handywork. In fact, he couldn't see anything of the fight between her and the Edenite guard standing between them and their lady in Blue. He could hear something, but that was drowned by the sounds of the TANK keeping up its fire like any good tanker would. For a moment he was afraid that she had stretched her luck far too thin and gotten herself into a situation she couldnt un-fuck herself out of. He even began to move slowly towards her location, when he finally saw signs of life; Thalia. Alexander moved up to her just in time to see the mess she had left behind, and he couldn't help but feel equally impressed as he felt disturbed. He had seen shit before, and this was on par with some of the higher level ones. But the job was done, and that was what mattered. Alexander looked up from the body and to Thalia, giving her a look of approval, albit a silent one.

Thalia would have loved to roll the guy for his possessions. Ammunition was getting a little harder to come by and whatever protective gear the guy was wearing could be easily refitted, but she didn't have the time. If Alexander wanted something on the quick, great. Her mind was elsewhere. Thana was still ahead of them, doing God-knows-what for her own reasons. Besides, if they actually pulled this off, there might be a less urgent opportunity to claim spoils. No, they had to get going. Thalia reclaimed her blade and worked her way to the edge of the treeline, trying like hell to figure out which way Thana would have gone. There was a small copse of trees just ahead of them. Not quite to large as to hunker down in, but enough for cover if they stayed behind it. Past that was a clearing that, true to its name, looked clear. The main event with the tank seemed to be drawing everyone's attention, and Thalia saw no reason not to take advantage of this. "Come on, way's open."

Keeping low, Thalia darted across the narrower opening from the treeline to the small copse of trees near a paved road. The way was, as Thalia described, very open. The larger part of the dash was ahead of them, however. Past the trees one could glimpse movement. They seemed fixated on the low machine sounds of the tank, peppered by gunshots. They could make it through, though a direct path meant going over a rise. The indirect path would take a little more time, but so long as eyes were on the huge piece of WWII surplus machinery causing havoc nearby they could travel it with speed. "Yah, ok... We're going to stay low and make a run for it. Behind that rise there... and curve over to that recess in the treeline right over..." She pointed out a spot almost directly across the clear area in front of them, "...there. Got it, Mugsy?" He was a trooper for an old guy, in her estimation, keeping up like this. "Aaaand, go."

There was little reason to scavenge to the body right then and there; if he had ammunition on him, it probably wouldn't fit in their weapons. If it did, who was to say it would work? And if it did, they didn't have time either way to stop then. They had to keep moving. Spending time scavenging was time not spent on getting their asses moving into position. So Alexander followed Thalia's iniative and kept on moving behind her through the treeline and to the edge of it. Before them was an open ground requiring some good ol' fashion running, which the vet was starting to get very tired of by now. But now he wasn't alone, and that did make it seem a little more possible than the golf course.

Alexander listened keenly to Thalia's plan for them to get across, and neither could nor would point out any flaws in it. There simply wasn't time to think. In the heat of battle, the only one to think was the NCO. The rest simply followed orders, and right now Alex was the grunt. When Thalia asked him if he got it, he nodded and looked at their made-out route. "Got it, Angel. Ready when you are." Alexander whispered back, waiting for her signal...and running like he had never done before. He followed her as best he could in her own footsteps, in case any alternative route could and would make him slip again. This was really going to hurt tomorrow.

The run reminded Thalia of the one that took her across the golf course. Probably not the smartest move ever, but this time there was backup and a huge distraction in play. It was the best way to cover the distance to the most likely staging point for Thana, if she was indeed still in this. Though it seemed like a half hour out in the open, in reality it was just a few seconds of sprinting across grass and snow. When she made it into the arms of the treeline, she did her best to regulate her breathing, despite her shivering and exertion. Going little deeper into the trees, the she caught sight of a welcome sight. "Hey, Navy." she said in a clear but quiet voice. It was Thana. "What's the plan from here?"

He was kidding. It was already starting to hurt. If the vet had felt the stinging pain in his side at the golf course, he was feeling bayonets instead of pins and needles now. Even as he desperately wanted to stop and catch his breath, he pushed on with a grunt's determination; not to achive victory or glory for his country, but to make sure the top brass didn't have the chance to piss on one later on for failing. Not getting shot was an added bonus, making it a damn good motivation, even for Alexander. He kept on running a little ways behind Thalia, following her into the treeline when they luckily caught up with their lady in Blue. Alexander didn't open conversation like Angel, instead focusing on not breathing loud enough to drown out the TANK.

Raymond Mendoza

Location: South of Mary Ann Street
Skills: People Reading & Stealth (ninja)

Raymond looked towards Sam and shook his head slightly, he didn't know Amelia until she and the rest of the members from Franklin ended up joining the group. "Nope, didn't meet Amelia until she and her group were integrated into Newnan." Raymond said, he was glad that he was able to get the two ladies to start talking to one another, and it was good to try and get some information out of the newcomer as well. "Was born in San Antonio Texas, but was in El Paso when shit started to hit the fan." Raymond answered as they continued to make their way towards the next street. "Where were you guys when things started to get bad?" Ray asked Sam, and Amelia.

Raymond looked towards Amelia when she asked her question, he bit his lower lip for a moment and sighed there was one thing that Ray really wanted to do. And that was to search for Tiffany, he knew that she was very capable of surviving, but he was still extremely worried that he would lose her. "Look for the others. Tiffany especially." Raymond said simply as he stopped for a moment when he noticed the walker that Amelia had pointed out. He looked over towards Sam for a moment, he could tell that she was hurting, and Amelia was getting to tired to attack the walker. And he was to would most likely end up losing his balance if he went toe to toe with a single walker.

Ash Holloway

Location: Hordebuster, Sprayberry Rd, in front of train tracks -> Continuing W on Sprayberry
Skills: Engineering, Mechanic

Something still seemed off to Ash as he carefully made his way back to the Hordebuster. It was a freak occurance, this snow drift. They didn't usually form unless there was something present to collect against. And one this high? He had seen piles almost this high in the mountain passes of Virginia, though they were made in an especially snowy winter and stacked by the passing of snowplows. Perhaps (and this was a sobering thought) there was a large vehicle there at one point that the snow gathered upon, sticking around after the vehicle left. Of course, that would mean that there was another large truck not too far away, which could mean trouble. They had enough problems as it was. And even they had fewer problems than those who had to slog it out on foot, if indeed anyone else made it out.

Problems for later, Captain. Stay alive now. You have your mission. As usual, the formal little dip into his subconscious manifesting as a voice was correct. It had been a little bit since he'd heard from the Soldier; sadly he did not know if that meant he was more sane or less right then, but the voice was right. He had his mission. Thana had hers. They meet when it was all over and begin again.

Tucking away his knife and pistol, Ash climbed into his Hordebuster and opened the suicide door for Niesha. When they were all safely back inside, he briefed Riley. "Freak drift. Looks clear, the 'Buster can chew through this. Couple of Dead a ways behind, few on the side of the road, bit they don't seem interested in us right now." Not when there was an entire settlement in a huge, flaming crater that proved to be far more interesting. So Ash buckled in and reviewed the situation from the driver's seat. "Hold on to something." he advised, bringing the engine back to life and shifting into gear. Ponderously at first, the Hordebuster rolled forward, picking up just the necessary inertia the give the plowhead purchase into the bank of white, semisolid soft cover. It parted readily, allowing their access, yet enough of it pattered across the windshield as to become lodged between the protective grate and the lamimate safety glass, making vision perilous.

A slight twinge of anxiety hit Ash. He would lose precious time and potentially put these people in danger were he to stop climb outside to clear it, and if he stopped now they might get mired in the remains of the drift until the rising temperature gave them their eacape. He hit the windshield wipers, for what good they did. It was some use; they gave him the half second of vision outside regularly. Thankfully, luck was with them in the form of the train tracks. Rolling over them jostled all of the loose snow down to the bottom portion of the window, where the wipers made good enough work of it. And so, they rolled along Sprayberry Rd, continuing on their way to Arnco Mills.

"Would one of you please get on the map? I want a different set of eyes to confirm our route." Ash almost breathed a sigh of relief at their continued progress. He was nervous for a moment, but so far as his passengers went, Ash wanted them to think this was business as usual. So to speak.

Samira

Location: Mary Ann Street, Newnan
Skills: Anaerobic and Aerobic Capacity

"Alright," Sam answered Amelia and as she listened to Ray's reply she chuckled slightly. She could tell Ray was a little more comfortable sharing information, but perhaps it was the fatigue as well. Either way, she was surprised by the man's response. "You're a long way from home -" Sam paused and smiled, "Did you ever get used to the snow?" Even if Miami's heat was harsh more often than not, she much preferred it to this snowy hellscape.

Her attention was diverted to the stumbling undead as Amelia warned her and reminded Sam of her earlier promise. She clutched her axe in her hands and took a deep breath. Alright, this is it. You talked the talk now you gotta walk the walk sister. She whistled at it and instead of going for either of her friends, it turned its broken and half-rotted body towards it with a sickening screech as it started its advance towards Sam. The walker lunged for her, but She easily sidestepped the slower creature, though pain shot up her side from the sudden movement. Her fingers clutched the handle of her axe but before she could take a swing the walker mindlessly, yet relentlessly, tried to grab her.

Sam used her axe to keep the creature back with a grunt, using all of her strength as it snapped and gnarled inches away from her face. While wanting to kick its feet from underneath it, Sam's boot instead snapped the walker's knee out of the worn and barely functioning socket, causing the creature to fall on one knee before her. Breathing heavily, Sam lifted up her axe until the pain in her side was too much to bear and with one quick motion she drove the sharp edge of the axe down into the walker's skull. She closed her eyes and felt wet, cold chunks of blood on her face and upper chest.

The weight of the creature on the end of the axe caused her to go down with it. She let go of the handle just before she hit the ground, and stopped herself from falling face first into the snow and ice below her feet. Sam then turned on her back and stared at the walker's lifeless eye and she remained like this for a moment, breathing hard as she wanted to use every curse words she knew. But instead of doing that, she burst out laughing. Once she her fit of laughter passed she stood up, grunting in pain as her body disagreed with her latest choices in movements. She stepped on the walker's torso and bent down to grab hold of her axe to dislodge it from its open cranium.

Sam turned back towrads her friends, blowing away a strand of hair that had fallen in front of her eyes. "I always keep my promises," she half-joked with a wink. As she continued pressing on, she had an even harder time hiding her limp.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Sprayberry Rd.
Skills: None

Riley did one last check to see that she was strapped in, as she looked towards Ashton when he climbed up into the Hordebuster hearing the engine starting once more, seeing Niesha climbing into the back seat, Riley listened to Ashton as he gave her the information on what they had seen at the snowdrift. Riley gripped the sides of the seat that she was sitting in, as Ashton pushed through the massive snowdrift. Riley watched the chunks of snow flying over the windshield, as it got stuck for awhile until the windshield wipers started to do their work on the snow. Riley could barely see through the windshield until they drove over the train tracks, as she closed her eyes letting out a sigh. She was glad that she was able to see through the window now, when her attention turned towards Ashton asking to get the map out.

"Right, on it." Riley said as she reached over and started to sift through the bugout bag, before finding the map once more and quickly started to unfold it. It took her a little bit longer, but she eventually found where they were on the map once more, looking at the road signs before speaking up.

"Alright, so stay on Sprayberry Road, then get onto Roscoe Road for a little bit, then go onto the Newnan Bypass Road, then turn onto twenty seven. That's the most direct route I believe to Arnco Mills." Riley answered Ashton as she kept the map open, while looking at the streets and signs for anything else and reroute if needed if there is anything in the way.

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Methodist Church Parking Lot
Skills: N/A

Tiffany gave Jack the thumbs up before she set off on her own journey for the car. She kept an eye on the Walkers as they inched their way closer. She looked over the cars in the lot and they left much to be desired. Either things were missing (stripped most likely) or didn't look like they would drive 1 foot, let along all the way to Arnco Mills.

Hopefully, Jack would have better luck than her. Her mind wandered to Ray, wondering where he was. He was safe, right? He had to have gotten out of Newnan. He would be with others. Maybe on their way to Arnco Mills too! It would be great seeing him again. Tatiana too, because she knew Jack was thinking the same thing. Both of them will be there and if not, they would find them. Once they were settled safely somewhere.

Update

Please remember to update your locations in your header with roads and such. (I will update general maps when you all are done and off your current one. Let me know when you are at the edge!)

Eden

Location: Eden: 22, Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and Main Eden Building, Behind the Tank
Skills: Survival, Tank Operations, Land Navigation, Hunting, Rifle, Sniper Rifle

Thana took a deep breath, watching as more and more Edenites made their way from the main building and towards where the sounds of the tank were coming from. She didn't know these people and yet she had this intense desire to put a bullet in each and everyone of their backs. Sure her sister may have been a monster to her but she was her sister and if anyone was going to put the woman in her place it was supposed to be her, or her father. Her father would have been a better bet but then again he hadn't done much more than neutralize the situations when they were growing up. He was so concerned with placating their mother to keep the situation from ever really going away. Yet she didn't hold it against him, she held it against her mother and her sister. They could have stopped it at anytime. Now it was her turn to stop things.

Gavin popped off a few more rounds. Taking out a couple more. It wasn't as easy as all that. He had to stay ducked and covered behind the large tank and several rounds clipped off near his head. It was only fueling the darkness in him though. He was finding himself enjoying this more and more with each one he took out. Sweet baby Jesus help him come back from this once it was done other wise heaven help those around him. Things could get much more complicated than the appeared to be if he couldn't find a light again. yet he wasn't worried. There was Thana, he had that. Sure it seemed like she and the Captain had something going on but that didn't mean that he couldn't try. Regrets came from what you didn't go for in life. He already had one of those regrets when it came to Thana he wasn't about to chalk up another one.

Lola on the other hand didn't give two shits in the wind about coming back from a dark place. Her place was as light as air. She was happy, not mad. There was a difference, a difference people could easily see by the smile that spread across her face and cracked it open from ear to ear as she drove the tank further down the street. She was taking the round about way instead of cutting straight through the trees but it seemed to be working. Those fuckers weren't cutting through the thick steel of her tank and if she could come around it hopefully open up a door for another way in for the others. One where you know, Beatrice wasn't blowing a hole into the side of a building.

Thana was about to head off to help Gavin since there were a bit too many heading in the tanks direction than she liked and plenty more around Eden for her to take out alone. Then she heard a twig snap and her head jerked around. Her gun raising only to stop and lower it slowly as spotted Thalia and a rather winded looking Alexander coming up behind her. Seemed the two had caught up with her. Thalia seemed to be keeping herself together far better than Alexander was. Seems the plan to help Gavin and the tank could change. There was three of them now and they were supposed to be the front line while the tank was the distraction. Time to stick to that.

""We'll head that way. Towards the tennis courts and come around to the front. Their attention is on the tank right now. Let's keep it that way as long as we can," she said. It seemed like as good a plan as any. She did wish her father was there right then. The man was a jarhead. He had seen plenty of combat, he knew this shit like the back of his hand. Yet there was no dad in sight, so it was time to step up. She stayed ducked down and turned slightly. Staying crouched as she moved to the other side of the wooded area they were hiding in. She could see one Edenite within view. That was far better than ten.

"So after this, I was thinking we could see about hitting a few holes. Set up the tee on top of my baby here and go for distance. They have to have some clubs lying around." Lola actually liked the idea of being able to sit out on the green and knocking off a few balls. Maybe be able to knock a few heads off some deadies from a distance. Now that would be some right aces of a good time.

Gavin slipped behind the tank and started to reload the riffle. More seemed to be coming. The fact that there were so many worried him. Either this place had a ton of people and half were dealing with Thana and the others or Thana and the others could be dead and there was nothing but the Edenites to do but come right at them. Then again, they could be fine and the Edenites just hadn't noticed them yet. That had to be it. That was the job of this tank, to keep the focus off the others. Buttered biscuits he hoped that was the case.

Amelia Payne

Location: MLK Jr. Dr.
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

“So I see... thank you.” Amelia replied to Sam who had just displayed a rather cool zombie killing in action! She nodded as they resumed walking. The road ahead of them was long and frankly treacherous. Amelia lightly leaned to the side, but managed to pull her things together and steadied out. Yeah she can walk for now, but things were getting harder and harder. All adrenaline had long since dried up and her muscles weren't really prepared for everything that happened. All in all it was pulling Ray up and down the wall that had put her body in this state. She didn't regret it though, still it was eating at her for how unprepared she was.

With struggle she continued walking through the snow and ice. It was quite the effort, but somehow or other they had reached the next street. Walking through the snow caused some noise, but nothing like direct walker bait so hopefully it was fine. As Amelia finally shuffled onto the pavement, she looked left and right, noticing a walker to the side of htem... the right side. Maybe in the distance there was another one, but she couldn't quite be sure right now, it was either a walker or what remained of a tree or something... ohh it was shuffling as it moved yeah a walker. Well it wasn't in their direct path that one and the one to the right hopefully wouldn't be a problem.

“Still south... got to move... just a lil bit more. From here should be ok if we manage to pass the next street...” Amelia muttered and pointed a direction towards Fairmount Dr., they could probably juke the walker that's south by going on the opposite side of the house it was by. They could head on around the right side(their right). She still had to hold on for a little while longer... Soon there was going to be surely a place to rest.

Alexander Polawski

Location: 22
Skills: None

Feeling his heart beat furiously in his ears, Alexander let the thought of Thana shooting him with her raised gun go into his mind, promise a final rest for a man who really didn't like running, before exiting and leaving him back in the game. But now that they were all standing more or less still, the old vet was able to catch his breath slowly but surely, feeling his chest heave less with every hushed breath he took. Not that he needed to keep as quite as before, as he heard the TANK closer than before, be it because they had gotten closer or Lola had came knocking on Eden's door.

Alexander listened to the Blue's plan while getting his last breath back, hoping indeed she was right that Eden was too busy with the Kiwi to notice three infiltrators inside their base. He followed her to the other side, staying crouch and trying to be as quite as possible. As he sat crouched behind her, he pondered himself over the best course of action. Personally he'd want to call in an airstrike ASAP, level some buildings and get the edenites' attention further away from them, even for the mess that usually left behind. But there was no USAAF or USMCA those days, so the Stuart would have to do. He wanted to ask either Thana, or the other group how the plan was proceeding so far, but remained silent as he waited to be asked. So far, the radio silence had yet to be lifted.

Raymond Mendoza

Location: Heading South Towards Fairmount Dr.
Skills: People Reading & Stealth (ninja)

Raymond looked towards Sam for a moment and gave her a slight shrug. "I didn't mind the snow that much during the winter, definitely not as harsh as the Great Lake Regions." Raymond answered, as he stopped for a moment and watched as she went towards the Walker that was there, and watched her struggle with the Walker for a moment, before finally managing a hit against the Walker's head. Then they both went down, Ray quickly moved over to see if she was alright. Seeing the woman laughing it off, he noticed the bit of walker blood on her face, and gestured towards it. "Got a little bit on your face." Ray pointed out giving a slight smile, as he watched her retrieve her axe from the Walker's head.

Ray, looked at Amelia he was still worried about her, the exhaustion he could tell was still wearing her down a lot making sure that he kept an eye on the two women. Sam was limping, most likely from her little slip n slide fiasco just a few minutes ago, and Amelia being very tired. "Shouldn't we head east on MLK Jr. Street instead?" Raymond suggested, figuring that they could at least stay on the edge of the road to avoid the ice that was there.

As far as he could tell there weren't many walkers aside from the one that Sam had just killed, and the other one on the street, he figured that sticking to the roads were a much safer bet then taking chances in the woods. Ray shuddered for a moment remembering the last time he tried to get away from a herd of Walkers, it did cost him his leg however he did meet the love of his life because of it. He really longed to see her, and he really prayed that she was still alive.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Tank on Right Fork Of Road Between 21 and Main Eden Building
Skills: Tank Gunner Amateur

Beatrice was keeping a steady eye on what was going on through the scope. Even though they were inside of a tank, her instincts told her to keep an eye on their surroundings. She didn't want to be surprised by some idiot Eden-nite trying to climb up the sides and join them inside of there, as seemed to happen in every movie ever made with a tank. She glanced over at Lola and found herself smiling in spite of herself at the crazed woman's happiness. There was something pure about Lola's enjoyment of violence. She had seen those who loved violence for violence's sake and those who treated it as a means to an end - but this was something different altogether.

"Never played golf before," Beatrice commented. "But that could be a fun way to blow off some steam," she eventually said. In college, she had almost gone mini golfing once. But when she had showed up and saw the colorful course, as well as the smiling families, she had decided that it just wasn't for her. It didn't seem to be something that was compatible with her life back then. Her life had been too rough for the elephant at the end of the course that the kids tried to put into. She couldn't help but wonder if Ryan had played golf before he died - or if it hadn't been compatible with his lifestyle as well.

Jack Hudson

Location: Parking Lot Behind the Mt. Zion Methodist Church --> North of the Parking Lot
Skills: Survival, Athletics, Scavenging

Jack didn't have fantastic luck when it came to looking for any working cars. He was staying alert, keeping an eye on their general area and being careful not to slip on the ice. But while he was safe and calm, there didn't seem to be any keys to cars or cars that were just in good shape. He let out a bit of a sigh, coming back to the middle where he met Tiffany. This parking lot seemed to be a bit of a bust. But he knew that she wasn't in the physical condition to keep on walking like this. They had already made a gamble with their time, stopping to look for transportation.

"Hey, Tiff, I don't think any of these cahs are gonna wohk," Jack explained. "Unless you found a winnah?" he said hopefully. There were always other parking lots that they could search or if they kept moving a bit, he could've sworn he saw some more buildings in the distance. As long as they found a safe place to stay for the night, then they'd make it out okay. "Let's go and look at some of the houses ovah there," Jack then suggested. To their north, there were what looked like some sort of building. The road seemed to be partially obscured by ice but at least it was promising. He then gave Tiffany an encouraging smile before making his way in that direction, hoping that there'd be a decent vehicle there. There was only a single walker in the area as well, which helped.

Ash Holloway

Location: Hordebuster, Sprayberry Road -> Intersection of Sprayberry and Jackson St.
Skills: Engineering, Mechanic

Ash slightly misjudged the distance of Sprayberry Road. He had expected to hit Roscoe in short order, a fact that he had to put back into his mental map of the area. It had been a little bit since he had been up this way. The pieces of memory took a couple seconds to jumble back into place. All in all, he was glad that Riley had the map and he was behind the wheel. Route confirmation was an important thing. Damned necessary, even. The amount of fuel in the tanks could take them from one side of the continent to the other one, but without a readily available means of resupplying they had to account for every drop of it, be it diesel, standard, or alcohol. Ash made a mental note to locate or construct another still as soon as possible. For him, it was pretty much a survival tool.

"Thanks, Riley." intoned Ash, veering the Hordebuster to the left to avoid a section that looked perilously like black ice. He risked a look back into the cab, confirming the presence of Niesha, Riley, personal equipment and their bugout bags. Maybe it was minor paranoia. Maybe that type of selective caution kept people alive.

The big, solid truck began making its way into a more residential area of Sprayberry. One side of the road was dotted with trees that still hadn't quite put leaves back on, standing in front of once proud middle-class houses. Ash looked upon them with near dead nostalgia. He would have liked to have lived in a place like that, back Before. For that matter, he would have loved to be back in his house in Newnan; a grand old building that was converted into a venue site. He had lived there alone in spacious digs, feeling almost opulent in comparison to how he had lived prior to establishing the Newnan Safe Zone. Now all of that was at the bottom of a crater. Thanks, God. Thanks a lot.

The road bent to a near perfect West direction, taking them further into the residential area. The houses became a little smaller and set closer together, the picture of an abandoned, nigh idyllic neighborhood. It was a little depressing. Ash soldiered on, keeping his feelings quiet for the time being, just hoping that others had survived to make it to the bugout points. Maybe a few would make it to Arnco Mills. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Hope, hope, hope. All he could do now is drive. Ash brought the Hordebuster further up Sprayberry until its end; the road terminated at a four-way stop, interescting with Jackson Street. Across the way was Roscoe Rd. The 'Buster now sat between an abandoned gas station and an inviting (but equally abandoned) barbecue restaurant. It had to be barbecue.

Right in that second, Ash began to really miss James. As he stared out of the window, looking at the faded, wooden pig sign in front of the restaurant, single tears formed in his eyes. Ash couldn't allow himself to think about him right now, even if he did just see him die. He had survivors to think of, with greater priority than anything else.

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, 22 -> Headed toward Tennis Courts
Skills: Stealth, Survival

The directions given threw off Thalia for a second. Toward the tennis courts and around front... She had assumed for a bit there that the "front" was in the direction of the TANK, which was doing a fine and spiffy job relocating Edenites toward its location. The wave of temporary stupidity thankfully washed away, revealing a more competent Thalia who was in tune with the concept of front and back sides of buildings, based upon architectural design and not the temporary needs of a post-apocalyptic band of reprobates and assholes. Thalia wasn't sure which designation she fell into; Reprobate or Asshole, and it was quite possible that in the next hour the question would be totally academic.

Thalia ran the lay of the land over in her head. It would be trickier going, moving around that way that Thana suggested. It was the best route though, so far as the plan was concerned. They had to get up to the building and get in, hopefully with the brunt of these asshats firing impotently at Lola's Mobile Armor. What she wouldn't give for a detachment of MSS High Threat personnel at her disposal. Or even the old group from Castle Town in Fairburn. She missed them. Really did. As it was, she had herself, a Navy chick, and a 'Nam vet. It could be worse.

"Yeah, tennis courts..." Sometimes, in order to advance you had to take a detour. "I'll take point. Be ready to give me some cover, this isn't an exact science." Damn, she wanted a silencer. It would make this so much easier. Under cover of trees and the lengthening shadows of the day, Thalia began sneaking her way toward the corner of the nearest tennis court. The sooner all this began, the sooner it could end.
