As Ardur found himself a new crystal to perch on, he felt his wings becoming heavy and tired. Yet as soon as he lit upon the blue mineral, it gave a pulse of light! Then it began to dissolve, and the powdery substance sank into his skin with a tingle in mere seconds—leaving him now stranded in midair.

Used a Mana Crystal.
MP is fully restored.
System

But the fatigue in his wings suddenly disappeared, and once more he could support himself in flight! Though during his fall he had come much closer to the creatures down below...

@Gobby
As Puck headed towards the light—passing over the crowded pool, around the smoking bonfire—he soon came to the outer edges of the cave. It seemed normal enough—in fact, even more normal than what he had already seen. There weren’t many crystals or herbs here, only craggy rocks and smooth stone. All the typical cave formations were here, and the colors were brighter. And up ahead, a large opening gleamed with blinding sunlight…

Which made the huge, black furred silhouette even more threatening by contrast.

A burly, clawed hand reached out to try and grab Puck.

“Lookie here boys, found us a snack!” boomed the big thing’s voice. A gaggle of goblins around it began to cackle, jumping and swiping at the pixie themselves. Puck might have gotten himself into a bit of a pickle here…

@Kazemitsu
As Asura threw his weight around, the Wisp buzzed in surprise just before the red ooze slammed into it. The creature tumbled backwards, dropping out of the air for a moment. Then it flashed with fury, and launched another magical projectile at the slime!

@UltraCraftGames
Peter didn’t seem to realize that, at this point, the two Goblins had taken their crystals back to the bonfire, and were now among a group of their fellows—including one very disturbing one with scars and red, mysterious markings all over him.

The Wisp’s first two shots were successful, taking his targets in the back by surprise! They fell to the ground with pained yelps—but they weren’t dead. As they began to get up, growling and snarling, their companions immediately noticed Peter.

“Who dares mess up Crispy’s fire party!?” roared the burned Goblin. He raised his torch, and the other Goblins began to rush towards Peter. The Wisp quickly grabbed a Mana Crystal off the floor where the two Goblins before had fallen, but even with his MP restored he could only get off two more shots before he was once again out of MP—and with no other crystals nearby! His shots slowed down two of the three goblins charging him, but the third swung at him with a short club that looked to be from a tree branch.

Meanwhile, Crispy held out his free hand, and a ball of fire began to swirl around his palm...

~~Ash||Jason~~

@Zeroth@Guy0fV4lor
A short collab between a sarcastic lizard and a dessert platter

Ha, success!

The wisp gave a shrill cry of pain as the glob of corrosive venom impacted it. She would have gone in for the kill herself, but before she could make another a move a rock slammed into it, propelled by a weak stream of water. The rock hit it with a soft whump, before exploding into a ball of sparks with whatever was left of it falling to the ground.

Immediately the lizard turned in the direction whoever lobbed the rock. The Slime? She took a few careful steps in the direction of the whatever was left of the wisps body, glaring lightly at the slime beast in front of her. Now, there were a few reasons why it did that, but none of them were good that she could think of.

So she hissed lightly at the slime, not attacking it, but clearly wary of its intentions. If need be, she’d fire another glob of poison, grab her spoils and run for it.

Seeing the lizard creeping toward the husk of the fallen wisp, Jason could easily discern its intentions. However, as he was the one to strike the killing blow, he was not going to leave empty-handed, quickly darting forward, he sucked up the wisp’s corpse.

Ash only watched with caution - ready to strike back should it try anything. Unfortunately, it somehow managed to get its slimy body around her without her noticing and scoop up the prize before she could take it and run herself. "Gah! This oversized ball of jello is lucky I don't have a spoon." She mused dryly in thought to herself, putting a bit more distance between the two of them as the slime in question began doing something rather odd.

Hearing a hiss, Jason quickly reconsidered his action, before suddenly thinking of a compromise.

Sucking up a sharp rock, he forced the wisp’s corpse to the bottom of his body, repeatedly smashing the rock’s sharp edge against it until finally managing to cut it in half. Cautiously approaching the lizard, Jason carefully held out half of the wisp; much in the same fashion as someone attempting to feed a wild animal.

It pulverized the body of the wisp in two, and slowly slunk its way over…offering her half of it?

Understandably skeptical, Ash did nothing at first, merely glare studiously at it, looking for any sign of what might have been a trap. Now, the thing had helped her fight the wisp, but honestly, she wished it hadn't. More spoils for her that way. But perhaps she could use this things kindness to her advantage? Having allies, even bestial ones could be good.

She tentatively sank a claw into the half of the wisps body, careful not to touch the slime's body before putting some distance between the two of them, her half of the body resting at her feet. Bah, not being able to speak was annoying.

Seeing the lizard cautiously take it's half of the wisp before retreating a short distance, Jason thought it best not to press his luck; nature was a fickle mistress. He began digesting his half of the wisp as he headed back toward the pond. Upon reaching the edge, he sucked up a bit more water for future use, collected a few more ‘healing herbs’, and began to search for more of those ‘mana crystals’, taking careful consideration to keep the lizard within direct line of sight.

With the slime not trying anything else, Ash quickly returned to her own business. It didn't seem very hostile on the surface at least, so she'd remain cautiously optimistic. As well, since the slime didn't seem to suffer any ill effects from the herbs either, she tentatively ate one, swallowing it whole in typical lizard fashion. Once done, she turned her attention to the body of the wisp. Curious thing, wasn't it? She glared silently at it for a few seconds, studying it.

Now here she had an option. She could attempt eating it - that was fine, she did need to eat after all but food was relatively easy to come by. There was a particular skill she wanted to try that she hadn't been able too. She glanced over to the large bonfire where the goblins were gathered, some commotion going on over there. They were the most advanced things in this place, or so it seemed. If she wanted to try some alchemy, she'd need some tools.

She placed the deceased wisps body on the ground, burying it under a thin layer of dirt and the densely growing herbs. Hopefully no other predators or that slime would mess with it. For now, she swiftly and silently moved across the floor of the cavern, heading to the large bonfire the goblins seemed to like. Perhaps she could find a bowl, or some other primitive tool the goblins made. She could make them herself, but claws made for poor working tools.

To say it had been an interesting week would be putting it mildly.

Everything that had happened after his supposed ‘death’ had seemed like some strange fever dream, something that he could only imagine after passing out after playing too many video games or after a long session pouring over a monster manual.

His meeting with the ‘Demon Lord’ had certainly seemed like something out of a game or maybe a bad anime. A second chance at life in a new world, with a new body, summoned to defeat a great evil? Magic, monsters, heroes and an end boss waiting for him at the end of his journey? Sure, it was better than ‘you all meet in a tavern’ but it was still pretty basic. Although, he had to admit being summoned by the great evil himself was a nice twist, as was the fact that he was being summoned as a low level creature instead of your normal adventurer.

He’d have to remember this when he woke up so he could tell his gaming group; it could make for a fun campaign if played properly. For now he might as well play along and pick a creature; he looked over the options briefly before picking the weirdest option with a smirk.

“Sure, I’ll be a pixie. I always end up playing the Cleric anyway.”

----

Jacob opened his eyes on a new world. And promptly began to panic.

Realisation crashed down on him almost as harshly as that car did. He’d died. Just walking across the street, minding his own business and then SPLAT. That was really all it took in the end, he’d had his whole like planned out but one reckless action and it was over.

Although, it wasn’t really over if he was here. He really had been given a second chance after all.

That said looking out of the crevice he had woken up in he wasn’t sure how much of a chance he really had. The cave system was teeming with life; plentiful, varied, aggressive and violent life. Goblin’s swarmed everywhere, breaking apart glowing crystals and carrying them off, bullying anyone who got close and often times killing them. Glowing balls of light floated serenely through the air right up until they randomly decided to fire balls of light at whoever they felt like, sometimes sending the creature running and sometimes resulting in a fight that left either participant dead. Little lizards crawled around, almost invisible on the cave floor before dozens of them appeared all at once to ambush and kill a larger creature before devouring it whole. Slimes and giant rats and countless others filled the cave as well.

And he was just a tiny little pixie with fragile wings and no way to defend himself.

So he stayed in his crevice, or as high in the cave as he could and just watched. He didn’t seem to need to eat for some reason, his body being sustained by some other force, though as the glowing crystal near his crevice grew dimmer he began to feel weaker. Watching the other pixie’s in the cave gave him some answers; the crystals seemed to be of utmost importance to them and therefore to him as well. They seemed magical in nature, or so he assumed, and pixies seemed to naturally feed off of this magic somehow, either draining it slowly or breaking off pieces and absorbing it all at once.

He discovered that they could cast spells in this way as well. A simple healing spell and some kind of shield as well; he should have remembered that from his talk with the Demon Lord but with the shock of his awakening it somehow slipped his mind. This was how he first found out about the system notifications as well, a little mental message box appearing in his mind the first time he saw each spell being used, and if anything made him question the nature of his reality it was seeing a real life video game notification pop-up. Maybe this really was a dream after all, could he be in a coma?

He supposed in the end it didn’t really matter. This was his reality now one way or another.

Jacob retreated to his crevice after this and began practising his magic. The two spells he had were basic and not all that useful in a fight, but they might keep him alive; the healing spell was exactly what you would expect but what he had thought was a shield turned out to be something else. The field it created around himself didn’t actually stop anything from passing through it, but it did make his skin feel harder somehow. Maybe it was some kind of defensive buff? He would have preferred a proper barrier spell, but this was better than nothing. He had seen other pixies cast in on others in the cave; did that make him a support class? With this wimpy form he doubted he was a self-buffing Paladin-type. Or was thinking about this in video games terms the wrong way to go about this?

It was hard not to, the way these message kept appearing in his head. Low MP, no MP remaining, used Mana Crystal, MP restored; he had seen those message a lot in the past few days. At least restoring his mana was easy, just standing near one of those crystals was enough for it to start to regenerate or he could break a piece off and restore it instantly.

All of his practice has made Jacob fairly adept at using his spells as well, to the point where it was nearly second nature now, but he wasn’t any closer to figuring out how he did it or, he felt, learning anything new. Maybe it was time he ventured out a bit?

Asura was unsurprised that the wisp was still alive, he had chosen the tanky monster of the lot so his damaging capability wasn't very high. As the wisp shot another mana orb, not that he knew what its attacks were, he surged through it. The bolt of energy struck his body but he pushed through and enveloped the downed wisp in his gelatinous body. With a harsh movement he focused on crushing the smaller creature in his body. The light the wisp gave off fluttered briefly before dimming until it was put out completely.

Whatever was left of the wisp he kept within to digest. No point spitting out food, even if it might not be particularly nutritious. A brief shake of his jello body and he was back to moving towards the pond. Whatever had been happening before had finished up and two of the participants were sharing a wisp corpse. There wasn't any actual verbal conversation, just lots of gesticulations and primal noises.

"Shrugging" he went to the odd plants he had wanted to poke around at. His knowledge of video games told him they'd be useful since this was a 'starting area'. With that small thought in mind he plucked a few, three, of the herbs. Maybe his slime body would knot what they were? Or would he be just as clueless as anyone else?

Puck the Pixie

With his gaze locked on to the sight of what he imagined to be the outside world, Puck darted forward, paying little attention to his surroundings. A few glimpse was all he took before heading towards the distant light.

However, as Puck drew closer to the large opening gleamed with blinding sunlight, a huge, black furred silhouette had suddenly entered his field of vision.

Puck's body began to tremble as his heart increased in pace. His instincts were telling him to be turn back, but Puck's face showed that he had something else in mind. The pounding of his heart had become palpable, but he couldn't help but let out a grin spanning from one ear to the other.

As the burly, clawed hand reached out to try and grab him, Puck zoomed upward before starting to swerve from left to right.

“Lookie here boys, found us a snack!” a booming voice said as a gaggle of goblins around it began to cackle, jumping and swiping at the Puck themselves.

"You guys wanna play, huh?" said Puck in a snickering manner.

His body continued to tremble as he tried his best to weave his way through the group of goblins. As he flew, a dim and gloomy layer of purple energy began to coat Puck's entire body.

OOC: Puck used Shield while trying to get past the group of goblins. So he's still aiming to move forward and higher up while dodging at the same time.

It had been blinding pain, heat both entering and leaving her before it just left and never came back. Her breathing was slowing, a fight, a battle, a struggle with each attempt. Her meager strength was leaving her quickly....

Everything changed. The pain was different, refreshing, cool air against her skin... Hours passed and then she remembered the voice, the choice, the message.

This time was going to be different. This time she was the one in charge of herself.

She found she had an affinity for being sneaky, almost as if get past life was following her, stalking her like a viscous beast. There were enough of those around.

Her time spent was mostly stealing food from the various goblins when she could dart in and out of the shadows. But even then... She was intrigued by the pool more than most things here that she could immediately access. The goblins at the bonfire were dangerous, she could feel it in her very bones, and the dark waters made her apprehensive. She had never swam in her first life.

No. Maybe another time. For now.... For now she would continue observing and sneaking, stealing and picking from remains when she could.

Rain watched from the shadows as the confrontation at the waters subsided, a week into her new life, while a Wisp was getting ballsy with that Goblin calling himself Crispy.

She should let it die to that fire, but....

A hiss escaped her mouth before she fired a venomous projectile at Crispy's eyes, slinking away from her vantage point immediately to avoid detection. Hit and run tactics had always served her previously, and in the worst case scenario she'd just flee into the unknown waters.

What better way to grow stronger than combat, she supposed?

Eric’s eyes lit up at the mention of healing herbs, if the system menu he saw earlier hadn’t made it clear, this world was closer to your typical rpg than he had expected. He started grabbing as many as he could, lamenting that his lack of pockets or bag meant that he couldn’t carry many of them. Given that the herbs grew on ambient mana, Eric thought that maybe if they grew in a place with more mana around it could improve in quality. All that was left was quietly leaving the area with the herbs in hand, looking over at the creatures that were fighting before, Eric saw the slime and the fanged lizard sharing the corpse and going into their own ways.

He had hoped for all of them to fight, then the remaining monster would be too tired or satisfied to care about eating a lonely goblin, but even if that wasn’t the case, it still was the perfect time to get out of here. That’s until he saw the red slime consuming herbs not too far away from him. Eric wasn’t too sure how fast slimes were on land or if his stone would to any damage towards an enemy who’s one hundred percent jello, but he had to deal with it before it noticed him. Eric suddenly remembered the system skill he saw earlier when he analyzed the plants, if this world works as an rpg, it would be possible to develop new skills or level up existing ones through combat, so he could use this chance to try to do so.

Plant Analysis I didn’t seem like something that could be used for direct combat, so he would try to obtain an ability that made use of his disgusting face; Intimidation. Eric didn’t even know if there was a skill like that, but the ability to make your enemies flee or stand there paralyzed seemed too useful to not to try to get it. Standing up from his position, he glared at the slime, trying to hide any emotions of his face other than killing intent.

The Pool

@Guy0fV4lor@ReusableSword@Kazemitsu@Knox@Duoya@Tatsu
As Nathaniel sat upon his perch high up on the wall, no doubt deep in thought about his observations, a subtle sound reached his pointed ears. It was sort of odd, not quite the clicking of claws, and with a sort of suction-cup flavor to it. Then the Fanged Lizard climbing up alongside his perch stuck its head over the ledge and fired a glob of poison right at his face…!
***
While Marc stalked the other creatures all around the pool, he failed to notice that he himself was being stalked by something else. Luckily for him, despite their ability to use tools, Goblins are not very subtle creatures.

“Gotcha!” the green child-like monster screamed, before thrusting at the Dire Rat from behind with a sharpened stick…!
***
As Jason devoured his half of the spoils, and the Fanged Lizard he had seemingly befriended headed off towards the bonfire, he headed back to the pool for some “supplies” before making his new goal the search for Mana Crystals.

1 Cup of Water added to Inventory.
2 Healing Herbs added to Inventory.
1 Mana Crystal added to Inventory.
System

But upon finding a patch of crystals, just after he had sucked up the first one Jason would see two goblins approaching.

“Oi! Dumb slime, get away from our crystals!” one of them shouted. The other raised a pair of sticks that had been tied together in a sort of T shape with a vine, but it looked like more of a primitive pickaxe than any kind of weapon.
***
Asura found himself a patch of the herbs away from the other monsters in the area, and upon sucking up three of them he experienced the System Message for the first time.

3 Healing Herbs added to Inventory.
System

So that was what these were. How much did they heal, though? And how much HP did he actually have? How much damage had that Wisp’s blast even done to him--it didn’t feel like he was in any real danger, but it had certainly stung.

But while he pondered these things, he suddenly felt a slight prickle on the back of his...goo. And there, standing behind him, was a glaring goblin…!

The Bonfire

@Old Amsterdam@Rune_Alchemist@UltraCraftGames@Renny
As Yoda, still hidden, watched from behind the rock the area around the bonfire grew more chaotic by the moment. What would he do? Would he try to save these monsters that the Goblins were trying to kill? Would he side with his own kind? That one with the red markings had been present at his rebirth, and had called the silhouette he remembered seeing--very possibly Yoda’s father--”Boss.” Did that mean he was the second in command of this cavern’s boss monster?
***
Peter managed to dodge the swing of the stick, but when he stopped to deliver his warning, Crispy raised his arm and held the fireball ready to throw--!

To Peter’s extraordinary luck, Rain chose just that moment to intervene. As focused as he was on Peter, and with her stealth skill, Crispy failed to notice the Lizard even after her poison splashed into his eyes. He screeched, losing concentration and dispersing the fireball, and shook his head until his vision could clear. By that time Rain had disappeared--but she could tell, if she glanced back over her shoulder, that Crispy might have been a little damaged yet did not seem as affected by the actual poison compared to other prey she had used it on since her birth. Did he possibly have some level of resistance to it?

Peter’s luck didn’t last, though, and even though he managed to get away, one of the Goblins chasing him managed to get just close enough that a wild swing of its hand slapped the Wisp. His path through the air was thrown into a dizzying loop-de-loop, and when he regained control he felt pain and fear in equal amounts.

WARNING! You are low on HP!
System

***
“Bah! Leave it!” Crispy screeched, and the goblins reluctantly turned back. “The Boss is going to be back soon! Go find the younglings, bring them to me!” With that said, the Goblins began to look around. Some of them immediately found one of the newborn goblins--from the same generation as Yoda, but it was unknown if any of them were reincarnated like him--and began marching them back towards the camp. Would Yoda wait for them to come for him too?
***
As Ash approached she took in all the pandemonium at a glance, but what would she make of all this? As for her search for utensils, it didn’t seem that it would bear much fruit at the current moment--the Goblins didn’t seem to be using the fire for actually cooking anything right now, just satisfying whatever mad craving this one they called Crispy had for big fires. But that other Fanged Lizard had lobbed a ball of poison at him, and it might occur to Ash that the goblins probably would not be able to tell--or care--the differences between one lizard and another...

The Exit

@Gobby
As Puck taunted the goblins, they redoubled their efforts. It probably had not been such a bright idea, as the goblins easily outnumbered him and seemed a slight bit faster even though he was in the air--at one point one of their flailing hands struck him, and if it hadn’t been for his Shield he could have been in even more trouble. As he took the hit he still felt it rattle his small frame, and he tumbled through the air for a ways before regaining his flight. But soon he had risen high enough that they couldn’t catch him, even by jumping and climbing over one another.

“Oi! Let it be!” called the big one. Now that Puck was up higher, he could see what this creature really was. Like the Goblins he had green skin and a bulbous nose, but that skin was only evident upon his face, chest, and extremities somewhat like a gorilla. Everywhere else on his body was covered with thick, coarse black fur that probably could have used a wash three months ago. He stood a full foot taller than the tallest goblin, and had about twice as much muscle mass, mostly concentrated in his upper body. He was wearing a bunch of what looked to be firewood, split multiple times until it became flat planks, which had then been bound with vines around his chest. He also had on a belt of vines and leaves, and straw sandals--all of it looked to be handmade with all the precision of a caveman. And in one hand he carried the most sophisticated weapon of any of the goblins Puck had seen thus far--a wooden handle with a fire-hardened slot, into which was bound a rock that had been sharpened smooth. A type of stone axe--or more properly, a celt, if Puck was up to date on his primitive technology.

“Pixies is too bony anyways. When I take the newbies huntin’ we’ll get us a big ol’ fat rat.” The boss scratched his chest with one hand, and used the axe to rub the back of his head at the same time. “You two, guard the entrance! The rest of ya, let’s go!”

He began to lead the other goblins away. The two guards--armed with sharpened sticks and a few throwing stones in a pouch of leaves next to their vine loincloths--took up practiced positions on either side of the light-filled archway at the front of the cave. If they had throwing weapons and were any good with them, Puck might find it very difficult to get past them...

Just as Jacob was pondering whether or not to leave his crevice, it seemed the decision would be made for him. At that very moment, something began to ooze from a crack in the ceiling--purple goop? It kept coming, and soon the flow increased in speed and size. And once it almost completely filled his crevice, the purple slime burbled and lashed out at the pixie with one of its pseudopods!

With the limited room of the crevice, the slime would probably find it difficult to attack, and it certainly couldn’t move well enough to dodge an attack. But...what did Jacob have to attack it with? He might have to get creative...

Asura's 'eyes' lit up when a little message appeared mentally. Healing herbs! Figures, so the crystals were probably to help along the magical entities in the cave. He had viewed each creature he could be extensively so it'd make sense that there's be health and magic in the noob cave they were born in. Despite feeling almost fine, just a minor stinging sensation, he ate an herb just to see what would happen aside from being healed.

After eating one he sucked another into his body, being mindful to not actually devour it. He was about to go check to see if his assumption on the crystals were right when a goblin popped up and glared at him. The child-sized creature was clearly trying to intimidate him. A slight shift and his mouth opened wide in a 'toothy' grin. His 'head' had a mouth with what looked like sharp and jagged teeth. That maw looked capable of engulfing the goblins head but the pair seemed to keep their distance. If the goblin came for him he'd strike back like he had with that wisp.

Marc Nadler

Despite gorging himself, Marc was not feeling especially well fed - however, the overpowering aroma of the healing herb was quite distracting, to the point where it was almost difficult to watch the other creatures nearby. The text that appeared before him as he looked at the various creatures were very intriguing - poison spitting lizards were usually carnivorous, or at least used it in defense against predators. The slime was incredibly intriguing, as it seemed to lack any sort of organs meant for sensing things - fascinating. Perhaps it used echolocation in some form? No matter - The fact that they are unusual in someway was not a good sign. Perhaps they had a disease, or possessed a bad personality. No matter what, he didn't enjoy being near them, since they were clear danger.

Doing his best to remain silent, Marc slowly left the herbs, planning to leave for the distant light near the end of the cave. His goal was to make it to the Demon King's castle, and while waiting would help him grow strong, it also meant that he would have to survive in a cave until then. So far, the only plant life he could see were the healing herbs, and the last thing that Marc wanted was to live off of such an overpowering plant - especially considering it wasn't the most filling thing around. The most prominent part of a Rat's diet is vegetation, particularly grains - however, meat was useful as a source of protein, and even rotten meat can be consumed safely by a rat.

As he tried to leave the herbs, a younger goblin yelled violently, attempting to stab at Marc with a stick. Marc jumped quickly, surprised that someone so quick to yell was able to sneak up on him so easily. The thought of attack quickly came to mind - retaliate and consume it. However, Marc immediately shot down the idea - the goblin was far too human. Instead, Marc quickly dodged out of the way, his small size playing to his advantage. Then, quickly, he began to run away, towards the light at the edge of the cave. The goblin was small and about as powerful as a human child, if the system was to be believed - A normal rat has a running speed of 10 mph, and a Dire rat was almost certainly faster. A child would have no chance of keeping up.

As soon as he left the cover of the herbs, Marc ran as fast as he could using his powerful muscles, headed directly towards the distant light. He wasn't positive if it was a way out, but it was easily the most likely possibility. As he raced forwards, his acute senses picked up the struggle occurring ahead - A large, hairy creature surrounded by those goblin monsters from earlier was clutching a small humanoid in it's hand, gloating as it did so. It was somewhat disturbing, considering how humanoid the pixie and goblins looked in appearance. However, Marc had no time to consider the ethical implications of eating humanoid creatures - His mission was clear, and it was now obvious that light was straight ahead.

Doing his best to remain hidden, Marc slowly crawled towards the light, hoping that the creatures would be too distracted by the pixie in order to notice Marc. If they started moving towards him, he would have no choice but to run as fast as possible.

Digbie was being himself, digging away at the walls of the caves he was in. He was on this quest for the Demon King so he could get to his castle, but he didn't know what to do immediately. He trusted his gut, though, and his gut told him to dig. So thats what he had to do. He had rocks, and he had time. He'd dig his way to the surface eventually, even if it took him a lot more time than normal!

He'd already been digging for a good twelve minutes at this point, or at least it seemed like that. He didn't actually know for certain. He just knew he felt like this was a good direction to dig towards, so he'd begin digging that way until he found something good. Unfortunately, he had to dig using his hands and various rocks. Man he wished he had a shovel of some kind, this was getting really obnoxious to him. It was then that he had heard the commotion behind this wall. It sounded like... running water? It was running liquid of some kind, but that meant there was a possible way out of the cave! Digbie, with a resurgence of hope, dug hard through the cave with his stone, only to finally arrive at the sight of a Pixie being aggravated by some kind of slime.

Now, Digbie wasn't one to hurt strangers, but it seemed like the slime was being the aggressor in this situation. How rude of the slime, indeed! Still holding the stone, Digbie shouted at the Pixie as he threw the stone towards the slime. "MOVE, PIXIE FRIEND! HYAH!" He could get a clear shot on it, despite the awkward positioning, and hopefully this would give the Pixie enough time to get to a safer place. If not, he wasn't gonna let this rude slime stand there and hurt it!

The Pool

@Zeroth

Well, this had gone terribly.

As she skittered silently along the ground, it was easy to see some sort of commotion going on before she even arrived at the Bonfire. Some shouts, a scream of pain, and a goblin smacking a wisp harshly with its weapon - from the looks of it, the wisp wasn't doing to well after that either. It'd be difficult to sneak in unnoticed, let alone find a bowl or some other utensil with the current commotion going on. If they found her, they could very well end up killing her again, and death wasn't something she was particularly keen on experiencing again.

Ugh, damn it.

She tapped a claw lightly against the ground in mild irritation. There went that plan. She could possibly sneak back in later after everything died down, but at the moment the scene was quite literally too hot. Conversely she could maybe try speaking to a goblin, but they seemed of little intelligence and idiots were the ones most immune to being coerced into doing something at times. Regardless, she needed to come up with a new plan if she wanted a bowl or cauldron of some sort to figure out these alchemy things. Glancing back to make sure she hadn't been noticed, Ash crawled back across the cavern floor to the pond she had previously resided in, heading back to the spot she had buried the wisp flesh from before as she looked at her surroundings again.

The slime that had previously messed with her meal was still out there, as well as a second one could be seen sucking up herbs and getting into a confrontation with a goblin. Huhm...a goblin skull would make a good container. Okay, morbid thought, but accurate. She'd like to avoid fighting if she could, but perhaps that'd be the easiest way to obtain something she could mix things in. Or...crazy thought, she tried doing something herself.

She rolled over onto her back.

"Urgh, physical labor is not my forte."

She grumbled, rolling back over and pushing herself to her feet.

Ideas...ideas...ideas......! Ah...wait, wasn't her poison acidic? It seemed to burn the wisp and it certainly seemed like it could potentially melt substances. Iiiidea! The lizard began walking around the edge of the pool, trying to find a spot that was relatively secluded from view in some manner, taking cover behind some rock formations. Taking a quick look around to see if she was alone, she filled her mouth with poison, only to vomit all of it up onto the floor. If it worked - it could burn a hole in the stone, even a little one, and she could have herself a makeshift cauldron.

Near the Bonfire

@Rune_Alchemist@Zeroth

Rain glanced over her shoulder to check for anyone pursuing her, happily noting nothing except the effects of her work.... But, mhmm, it appeared that Crispy was sightly resistant to her poison? That was irritating. Perhaps she could find a way to make it more acidic....

Nearby was another of her kind, vomiting? That was, odd.

Sneaking closer she watched, finally speaking up when she was close. Surprised, mildly, that she could talk she hoped that the creature would understand her....

"I'm not sure I understand what you're attempting, but perhaps I can assist?" she spoke up quietly, moving forward slowly. If the other lizard was agreeable, or at least not hostile, she would add her own poison to the... Whatever this was supposed to be.

Perhaps later she would try her hand at swimming. Or maybe she could go back and kill that damned Crispy...

Puck the Pixie | The Exit

With his vision spinning and some ringing in his ear, Puck found himself fleeing atop one of the many ledge-like rock formations that were present all around the cavern wall. Laying on his back, his heart's pace began to slow down while the magical energy that surrounded his body slowly dissipated. Snapping out of his frenzied state, Puck's eyes widened as he found himself staring at the ceiling, giggling in between deep breaths. He finally took in what had just happened to him. What he did was more than reckless, but he couldn't help but just laugh.

"That was sure fun though." Puck thought to himself as he sat back up, peeking out and taking a good look at the goblins he had just faced. Only then did Puck realize how different he was from them. Their size, speed, and strength, most especially that of the gorilla-like goblin, were on levels far higher than his own; no wonder his senses were so rattled from just a swipe alone.

As the group of goblins had left, leaving only two by the exit, Puck took this time to recuperate and contemplate on what he gained from his rash and impulsive actions. What Puck had done wasn't wise by any standard, but the amount of information he had gained made it worthwhile.

  • The difference in capabilities of goblins and himself
  • The possibility of different types of goblins
  • The existence of some sort of hierarchy among the cave goblins
  • Goblins being armed with crudely made weapons

Sadly, even with all this things in mind, Puck still wanted to get through the exit and to the outside. His childish and trickster-like nature was still predominating; the curiosity innate in pixies wasn't making things better.

Flying short distances between crevices and ledges, getting closer to the exit with each time, Puck couldn't help but notice that the goblins left keep watch, had their eyes locked unto him. Feeling safe from a distance, Puck simply waved at the duo before flashing a grin as he made his way towards another hiding place. Here he had noticed that his breathing had become labored, turning shallow and rapid. It was no surprise though, given his lanky frame, how much stamina it had was definitely limited. And apparently, flying so high up in brief succession, took a lot of effort; it was time to rest. Hopefully, with Puck being idle for a while, the attention and focus of the goblins down below would diminish.

While taking a break, Puck found the opportunity to take a better look at his surroundings. It was mostly rock formations and pieces of stone scattered everywhere. It was beautiful in its own right, but nothing truly impressive. Once Puck noticed the cracks and early signs of erosion of the rocks, the illusion of a picturesque cavern had slowly vanished.

"Cracks?" he thought to himself before another playful grin had formed on his face. It seemed like Puck had plan.

The ledge he was on was fairly spacious with several crevices surrounding it. For what he was plotting, Puck had to first gather as many rocks and stones as he could. There were numerous pieces around him and a few more inside each crevice; they were relatively large and just heavy enough for Puck to carry around. With his pile of rocks and stones beside him, he began lifting them over his head and tossing them towards the cracks present on the formations hanging above the goblins down below.

Puck was hoping for one to break off. If it landed on one of the goblins, he'd be more than happy. If the crash would disorient them, he'd take the too. Either one would give him an opening to head towards the outside. If nothing happens and it doesn't fall off, well, I guess he got to work out a bit, which is also good. Whatever happens, as long as Puck survives, then its a win in his book.

OOC:
  • Rocks would be between five to ten pounds, I guess. Since he's able to lift up to ones that are around fifteen pounds, I assumed that this was the acceptable weight he'd be able to toss with a significant amount of force.
  • Puck's laugh has the onomatopoeia of "Pupupupu"

There were lots of things happening in the area surrounding him. He wasn’t interested in most of them but he did notice that most of the same species were sticking together and no two species particularly liked each other. He did notice some unusual alliance between some of the creature but that is to be expected. He was deep in thought when he heard a strange notice and went to investigate. After firing a glob of poison over the edge at his face, he hopped off his little perch and hurried to the bonfire. He notices a couple of his own kind doing something strange and he was curious about what they were up to.

He headed down to an area near the bonfire keeping himself hidden by staying in the shadow. he was still getting use to his new body but he pretty much got the gist of everything. Once he reaches the place he saw the two lizards, he climbed on to the rock and greeted the two lizards. He kept his distance and had an escape plan just in case they were hostal. 'You can never be too careful' a saying his father used to say

“Can I be of service?” he asked.

Oddly enough, along with a mixture of fear and an instinct for survival, Yoda also felt a twinge of obedience. He steadied his breathing, finding it a tad easier than he would have before his rebirth. Admist the chaos he had wanted to stay safe, at least until he had felt more secure, more grounded in this new world.

There had always been echoes of what he should do.

Some of them more solid than others; leave the cave, find the Demon King, etcetera, etcetera. But since he had been born, the Goblin Kin was all he had known. He even wanted to be King of them at some point. If he rose up and defied them, he'd be marked forever, and even with some pretense of strength; it'd be hard to get them to follow him. If nothing else he's learned they're a stubborn bunch.

... I've decided. I'll wait for my chance.

Upon hearing Crispy's command to the Younglings, Yoda rolled into view of Goblins, scuffed with twigs and ashen dirt. His invisible, non-existent enemy had been pinned to ground. He shouted a youthful war-cry before grabbing a hefty stone and bashing it into the earth. "Die weakling! Die!" he paraded with ferocity, his voice surprising him with its tykish ferocity.

The time in the cave, about a week, had given Tom time to rename himself. In a fantasy world like this Tom just didn’t feel right. Israï felt a lot more awesome. When he first woke up, the cave was completely foreign to him. Now it was a bit more familiar. As he observed what the creatures were doing. The goblins looked rather menacing in a group so he stayed clear from the bonfire. For now he had no reason to leave the place, so he didn’t fly too far towards the exist. That left him the pool and the rather blue looking crystals which the goblins gathered. Deep within though, the little wisp knew he wasn’t just a little ball of gas. No, he could project his power in some sort of way.

The week gave him some time to come to term with a few things. Back home he was normal. Tom wouldn’t have hurt a fly and how did that lifestyle repay him? Well, he died apparently. But aside from that it wasn’t all that advantageous now that he looked back on it. Constantly being nice just earned him a seat at a boring table. Out here he didn’t have any colleagues or acquittances. He was on his own which meant he didn’t have to care about anything. So eventually he decided to do something less nice: to kill something. But what? Trying to kill a goblin would bite him in the ass for sure. A slime? No, what useful things would a blob of gel leave him? A wisp was out of the question. It just felt weird to kill something that’s basically you. The only thing left to him was a pixie. So that’s what he did for most of the time now: observing pixies.

Until now, with the commotion around the bonfire, he thought it prime time to see what he could do. Suddenly his little wisp form flared up from upon a rock and went for a random pixie flying near a cave wall. At first he projected his power, attempting to push the little pixie against the wall (Use: Minor Force I). It was more a move to pin down the little flying thing, but he welcomed any damage it would do upon the frail little thing. After that he tried to project his very essence. An orb, blue in color though, flew forth from his gaseous form, ready to hit the little pixie (Use: Mana Orb I).

Kill, Eat, Sleep, Repeat.

For the last week of his new life that was all that had mattered. Animalistic savagery dominated his existence. No, it defined his existence. Thought was an alien concept, and desire was king to the little lizard. If hunger called, he would hunt and devour any creature he could sink his fangs into. When darkness came, he would sleep. There was no question, no reason save for survival. Days passed as he feasted and grew, until finally something clicked within the reptile's tiny skull.

He had a life before this one.

Like a flood, memories and a sense of identity surged into the reptile. He was Ryuu Takahashi, a Japanese student and amateur author. He was human.

Or rather, he was.

That was right, The Demon King's offer of rebirth to the dying boy. He recalled that the man spoke of reincarnation into a world of fantasy. Something straight out of a manga, or perhaps a game. Too absurd to be true, and yet here he was, transformed into a flesh and blood lizard. But why? Was I simply lucky? Ryuu pondered upon the situation as he darted towards a poor insect that had gotten too close before using his fangs to full effect. Food for thought, I suppose. He silently thanked whatever power allowed his wit to be preserved through the transformation as he set to consuming the unfortunate bug.

No longer content with following his previous instinct based routine, Ryuu swiftly set about exploring the cave he'd unconsciously inhabited for the past week. Skulking near the bonfire he bore witness to a wisp antagonizing a number of the goblins, a choice Ryuu questioned the wisdom of as he tilted his reptilian head. The screeching of one goblin in particular captured the small lizard's attention as he watched him conjure up a ball of fire... and get drenched in venom seconds later. He recognized the attack as likely being the handiwork of one of his brethren, as he'd both seen and utilized a similar ability before. A flash of blue passed by the corner of his vision, and Ryuu just barely recognized it as another fanged lizard. Another strange occurrence... was that the perpetrator of the attack on that annoying goblin who called himself Crispy? Curiosity overtook reason as he decided to follow the blue scaled bomber.

Moments later Ryuu found himself upon a gathering of lizards, four of them including himself. Though they all looked admittedly... distinct. One had ebony coloured scales along with some purple scales running down it's back, whilst another had a completely blue and lithe body. Ryuu eyed the other lizards cautiously, until one of them did something that made his reptilian jaw drop.

They spoke.

The lizards in front of him conversed as if they were human beings. This revelation begged the question, if they could speak, could he? Ryuu had not truly given any thought to the idea, what with thought only becoming a concept to him mere hours ago. Though if he could speak in this form... did that mean that they were like him? No... that was just wishful thinking at it's finest, he'd not let himself fall prey to a false hope because of some coincidence. Despite his internal debate over the situation, Ryuu stepped forward and spoke to the onyx lizard. "Don't mean to just be an echo but I'll admit it, I'm pretty curious to know what you've got going on here too. Need any assistance?" He said before looking to the blue scaled one. "Oh by the way, nice shot earlier. That annoying goblin is practically fuming mad right now. You should have seen the look on his face!" Ryuu said as he silently approved of his own pun.

Peter being damaged figures that his body might be composed of quite a bit of magic. So he tries to somehow fly over to the crystals and sink in a bit to repair a bit of his mass. If this doesnt work he tries to consume one of the herbs around the cave.

After this he remembers something. From the abilities the demon king gave him his eyes they must be one of his strongest parts of the body. He goes near the crystals using them as a mana generator for training. He first of all tries to fire a mana orb from his eyes. Then he tries to make the mana orb thinner. This while reducing its power would perhaps allow room for something better. He then tries to lenghten the mana orb in an attempt to create a mana ray.
