Winter had taken Miso City by the storm, both figuratively and literally. While the snowfall wasn’t as intense as earlier days prior, it was still enough for a blanket of white to form. But with the chilled breaths and frigid setting came the promise of winter break. For the diligent students of Miso City High School, it was a period of rest and relaxation. For the Detention Club, it was a time to hunt freely without the constraints of school getting in the way. With barely a week left before the students were let out, everyone, teacher and youth, was buzzing.

Most of the other students had either left campus for the day or were lingering around in their respective club activities. That included the Detention Club, whose group of delinquents were heavy and far between. It took a strong and sensible leader to lead them back down the path of good, a symbol of unwavering positivity. Or so their buffoon teachers knew, still believing the Detention Club was a reforming group meant to “fix” the behaviors of its occupants.

Still, Touka Yama certainly fit the role she was needed to be, scurrying up the halls and higher still to Classroom 3-D. Loud bangs would inform her that, yes, the other members had already arrived, no doubt impatient for their club president to hurry too. By the time Touka did show up, the others would have had sufficient time to round up their conversations before she appeared with flurries of papers in hand.

“S-Sorry everyone, I’m here!” she said, hastily placing the sheets upon the closest spot she could find in the club room before looking over at the others. Good, almost all their number had showed up with the exceptions of Hikari and her own partner. It was adequate for her to begin anyway, a cough drawn to hopefully gain all their attention to her.

“I heard about last night’s reports from Chie. G-Good job everyone for holding your own and trying your best!” she said, words followed up by some shaky thumbs up. A moment to pause before she continued. “Recently though, it looks like the N-Nightmares have been becoming more restless and sporadic. I’m not too sure why that is, b-but it might be because of the Magical Girls you encountered last night. Their presence might have d-disrupted the balance we’ve kept for so long.”

Naturally any Nightmare was bound to chase one of the light than of the darkness. It only took a small number for the disposition of loot to be greatly misgiven. Touka’s tone said it all though; if nothing was done about those who meddled soon, most of the prey would be going towards them. An unspoken sentiment, but one that surely effected every Dark Magical Girl in the room. “W-Well aside from that….that is to say, more importantly, winter break is coming up, and we still need to make preparations.”

Touka briefly glanced down to her hands, fiddling with her fingers. It was a small motion that was soon joined by a wide but closed smile. “We can deal with the other Magical Girls later. What’s more important now is planning our club Christmas party!” Certainly there were probably a bit more pressing matters to consider, but the holidays were approaching. And they were delinquents anyway; since when did they ever follow a schedule in priorities?

Though right as Touka waited for discussion on that topic to start up, she suddenly froze where she stood. A sensation had overtaken her and it would soon spread among the other girls as well, from one to the other. Because approaching their club room right now was a familiar presence from just last night. Even those who weren’t present for the hunt could tell by sickening positivity this was one of the pure Magical Girls from the previous night. But which one?

“W-Who is it?” Touka called out to the hallways.

Kanbaru Otoko

The room was steadily filling, with no small number lusting for the offered confectioneries and offered tea. Were her stomach not roiling with displeasure from a heavy lunch hours prior she no doubt would have joined them, so Kanbaru found herself at the mercy of an irate Magical Girl now seated beside her. It was then that Kanbaru's pout turned to a strained smile and her eyes refused to meet Ami's.

"Hey, I was driving. Kinda hard to hear a cellphone over a roaring motor between your legs. Besides, if you had an issues after the nightmares disappeared, you must have been picking a fight with someone you didn't need to." Kanbaru countered Ami's accusations with logic, no doubt having thought up some response to this. While her words were truthfully from a certain perspective, it didn't acknowledge the simple fact that by the time Kanbaru got home, she was too tired to respond to her voice mails.

And somehow, she didn't think Ami would like 'lazieness' as an excuse.

Regardless of this the side conversations died out when their Club President bumbled into the room and divulged them to the facts of their nightly matters with all the grace of a bursting dam. It was hard to tell if this an act Touka intentionally performed or if this just came naturally, but it served her well as their friendly face of rehabilitation to the School.

"Do we need Christmas plans? Heck yeah, let's do secret Santas! Ooh, and I know a place that can get us a tree last minute." The Bluenette crooned with glee, rubbing her hands together in an animated show of enthusiasm. "We're going to need lotsa food, utensils, cups for drinks, maybe some-"

Her enthusiasm died a swift and painful death as all eyes turned to the doorway, anticipation creeping down their spines as a familiar aura stalked ever closer. "Red, did you invite company?"

Miso City High School. A place of fond memories. A place of bitter rememberance. How many times she had returned into these halls? She could not count all of them. Old chipped away and was replaced by new, only to chip away in its place. Nothing was eternal. Generations of generations of high school students had trodded through their halls. Back then it was books. Now it was smartphones. The banalities of conversation. A giggle. Mundane worries that assaulted many.

Stares were thrown in her direction. A different uniform than the current school. A transfer student. An object of interest for many students. Sometimes a target of bullying. Once again, to hide her darkest secret, Yamato Mari had become one of such. Her face who had seen many events and battles would always restore to its original state no matter the ravage. Even if it was time itself, it would repaired. She remembered her first friend, among these halls. Sakura.

She had brought flowers to her tomb earlier that day, alongside those who had perished in the Great Fire of Old Miso. It was an habit of hers. Even after these many years, she always thought of her family and friends as christmas were approaching. After shaking the solemn mortuary smell of incense, she had stopped by an old bakery. The only place that made the same sweets she always remembered. Their family recipe had been transmitted successfully.

The Hag straightened the creases of her shirt, and ran a hand through her hair. They knew she was coming. She could feel the tension in the air. Like creatures of the night, they were wary. If only they did know. Most Magical Girls and fallen ones did not see to eye. Mari was not such.

The great enemy was more powerful than petty squabbles about monsters and corruption. She had her recently injury to bear proof of it, after having to retire for years. She slid the door open, stared at eachother's faces, as she left the strawberry daifuku right beside the sweets, in a luxury package tied with a bow.

"Just a fellow student bearing gifts, who may have a side interest in this club." She answered after a polite bow. "You may call me Mari. I brought a token of appreciation." She said, her face strangely neutral.

"So it's called the Detention club now? Curious indeed." She added.

Alex skimmed over the contents of the book before slamming it shut, her attention now successfully diverted from reading. Kelly had entered the room and Alex gave her a small grin. "Nah, I'm good Kel." She replied with a dismissive wave. "Just loudly complaining, is all." There's someting within telling someone else about the woes of studying that actually made her focus more on studying.

Maiko entered and she twisted her body slightly to look at her enter the room. "Bah, they didn't fuse. Same weakass things we always fought." She said in response with a shrug. It would have been amusing if they fused, certainly would have been different. "Ran into some light Magical Girls though. They took the bulk of the enemies." She wasn't as bitter about it as her companions so she didn't really care much about it. Besides, it wasn't like she didn't know who the magical girl was.

Touka, their club president, finally arrived and addressed them. Alex settled down in her seat, silently putting the book into her bag as she listened. True, the Nightmares were beginning to get more active and, while she really liked fighting, it was weird. Guess it must be because of them. So they really need to deal with their light counterparts? She really didn't want to, but if it must be done...

Then the subject shifted to their christmas party. and she grinned. "I agree with Kanbaru. Secret Santa sounds awesome." She was planning on buying them small trinkets anyway, might as well go all the way. "There's a place that I could-" She stopped suddenly as the wave of familiar sensation come over them. Her grin widened - to what she can only describe as her stupid grin. So they had a special visitor? Oh, she wanted to know who it was so her eyes were glued to the door, waiting for the girl to enter.

Oh such fun.

The familiar form of the magical girl in her casual appearance appeared from the door and she let out a laugh. It was light, not made to be joking. Genuine. This was ridiculous. But her laugh died down as she settled in her seat again, eyeing the package she had set near their sweets. Mari had come with a gift and, it seems, an interest in their endeavors. She propped her head on top of her hand as she looked at the girl.

"Of all the magical girls that could ever visit our club, it had to be you Mari." She was beyond excited to know why this woman was here. Why this woman decided that visiting the club full of dark magical girls who have a bit of loathing on light magical girls was a good idea. Alex's eyes flashed over to their president and vice president to see what they would do. It was obvious that Alex was enjoying this day more and more.

"A secret Santa, eh? I guess I could get something." No idea what, maybe a gift card? Kelly was snapped out of her reverie when the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. There was another magical girl coming, one who hadn't yet fallen. She knew of a few running around, but which one was she, and what were her intentions? Had they been found out?

It turned out they had, although Mari seemed to be rather friendly today- she'd even brought a gift of her own. Kelly relaxed and smiled- the shit wasn't going to hit the fan today. "Greetings, Mari. It is a surprise to see you here, that's for sure."

More restless and sporadic? That could only be a good thing, hm? Kicking back and enjoying some more free cookies, Maiko nodded along to Touka's slightly more detailed report of the coming and goings of Nightmares, but as far as she was concerned, there wasn't much need to worry about the distribution of Nightmares. Beating up fodder would only make her weaker, after all, and if new magical girls were in town...well, it was always fun to pick a fight with an opponent that had a good set of brains on them.

"Thanksies, Alexis," the emerald-eyed girl waved, "And I don't really care bout Christmas myself. It's basically just a singles' party anyways, right? 'less you got some spicy connections, Touka?"

It was as if that had been a cue. The shift in atmosphere. The tension between light and dark. The knock on the door. And then, the appearance of someone who practically glowed with positivity and happiness.

"Oho." Maiko's eyes flickered towards Alexis and Kelly. "Spicy connections after all."

Was this one of the new ones that came around last night? If so, she had good taste at least. Leaning over the table to grab a daifuku, the girl chewed away, frowning slightly at the out-of-season flavor. Import strawberries? Artificial flavoring? Tsk, what happened to the good ol' days of traditional red bean filling? She ate it anyways, finishing the treat in three bites before licking the powder off her fingers.

"So, who's this? Nightmare bait?"

"..."

Chie buried her face in her textbooks as the others began to filter in the club room one by one. She only ever spared a moment to scan the room from the sanctity of her paper fortress, until some of the other girls talked to her.

"I'm... glad you liked it," Chie said, replying both to Alexis and Kelly in a voice so low that it might as well have been considered a whisper.

The only moment when she showed some assertion was when Ami came into the room, slamming the door in a blatant display of disrespect. "Please, don't do that again. The President already had to answer the faculty about the last time you broke it. Please, don't trouble her again," Chie said to Ami, raising her eyes slightly above the edge of the book she was reading.

Speaking of the devil...

It didn't take long for the President to arrive and announce her sudden plans for the club's wintery festivities. Chie's eyes lit up at the mention of a Christmas party, however, before she could express her opinions about the plans being made, someone else stole the whole room's attention.

"Wh—why? Something like this isn't supposed to happen. This is the worst case scenario, isn't it?" Chie said while glaring at Mari from behind her book. If anyone paid attention, they would be able to see that her eyes darted from the intruder to Touka and back again, before fixing themselves on the former. For this moment alone, a glint of Blackshot's abrasive nature seeped into Chie's gaze as she reacted almost like a cornered beast.

Hikari Twilight Knight

No running in the halls they said. But outside of their sight she ran anyway. Leaping from the staircase to the lower floor she needed to be on. She was feeling a bit reckless despite only being in a hurry due to how late she was. She spent the entire day in class not saying a word to anyone. She looked out the window while others exchanged winter plans with friends. She watched the snow fall in congregate number and was reminded of the club she was a part of. Were they her friends? She fell asleep and dreamed of being a normal child.

It was the nightmares that woke her. Or rather the reminder of their existence and the looming doom of being unaware of their presence. She awoke to a classroom nearly empty but still occupied by students and teachers conversing. She quickly grabbed her things and left. Now she made her way to the club room. Knowing that she was late she sighed and made a slow shameful walk into the room. She looked into the room before entering. Seeing the number of others inside she couldn't help but to smile. She waved to Alex once she noticed her. Not wanting to be rude but also suppressing how eager she was to meet her again in this normal setting.

Hikari noticed Mari but said nothing to her. Merely her focus was more so on how everyone was more interested in her presence at the moment than Hikari's late showing. So she found a seat next to Alex and quietly watched. Taking in with awe how lively everyone here was. If they were to be her friends, she smiled, she was glad they were so."Everyone seems to be doing well." She spoke with a timid smile.

The abrasive words of Maiko were not lost on the Student President. In fact, Touka’s cheeks turned the same shade as Chie’s hair upon their mention. It was somewhat true; she did have some, as Maiko put it, “spicy connections” in mind regarding their Christmas party. But having Magical Girls of the opposite alignment was not in the plan. At least, not initially. Mari’s presence was bold and almost insulting; what, did she think one pure light was going to brighten the cast shadows gathered in this room?

Touka took note of even Hikari’s appearance but didn’t say anything. Chiding another club member was less thrilling than the prospect that stood before them. Once everyone had their fill of initial spite, Touka evenly gazed at the disguised Hag. “You must be one of the M-Magical Girls from last night, right? B-Black Shot told me about you.” She didn’t bother elaborating which one of them was actually Black Shot, not when Mari was making herself such an easy target.

Despite the stutter to her words, Touka’s eyes narrowed into a cool stare. “As much as we appreciate the s-sweets, I have to wonder why a light Magical Girl thinks it’s fine to walk in our club without invitation.” A pause as Touka considered another option. “Or maybe you’re here to join our r-ranks? No, no….you reek too much of the light for that. W-Well…I guess what I really want to ask is…what’s stopping me from letting everyone in this room take a piece of you?”

Because no doubt everyone wanted a go at the good Magical Girl. It was just in their nature as those who followed darkness. The Student President found herself a chair at the front of the room to settle in, keeping an eye on Mari.

“R-Relax,” Touka said. “We’re not killers. But I’m not going to stop anyone here from giving you bruises or broken teeth. Since you’ve already met s-some of us, I think you should explain your i-interest to everyone first. And if they don’t like it….well, I did say I’d look the other way if something happens to you.” With that the Student President waited. The floor was now anyone’s to take.

Mari's expression was impervious, as she kept scanning the room with her gaze. Only the sight of Alex made her lips turn down ever so slightly, as if disappointment had set in. "Hello Alex." She added, politely as she kept the calm and the distance with the other girls. Her eyes turned to the shallow attempt of jeering of a certain girl who had been the first to snatch a daifuku. Foolish words, she paid no heed, as she eyed the class rep.

Corruption did horrible things to people it seemed, as the class president went from the usual behaviour to casually threatening with a gang beating. Mari's fist clenched on reflex, but her stare kept being still neutral and unwavering. Her gaze went from Touka, to Chie, to Maiko, Rai and Alex. She gave a longing stare to the last one.

"It's been always an habit of mine to employ Christmas to remember the ones who did not make it. I put flowers on graves, I place offerings in bowls, and I always stare at every single one of the ones who fell because I wasn't there for them. I spent nearly five years bedridden, and those fallen have increased as a result." She then lowered her head. "I am sorry, I was not there to help you all." She offered an apology. "But do not despair. I will keep fighting for as long as I draw breath. Even in this situation, there is still a ray of hope."

Her gaze left the ground and she stood composed, elegant and tall once more. "Nothing is stopping any of you of such a thing. However I must issue a warning first. I am your senior. And I will defend myself if need be." She paused, her stare now becoming piercing. "I will not cower. You all have faltered once. I did not"

Kanbaru Otoko

Perhaps it was because she was the only one there to be spared the Magical Girl's glare and thus ignored, or maybe it was her bold declaration that spurred her on, but Kanbaru could not even fathom restraining the peels of derisive laughter that poured past her lips. With an arm wrapped around her gut and the other clutching the desk in a manic grasp, she belted out raucous chuckles as though she heard the greatest joke to grace her ears.

And when it came to a sudden halt she adopted a smile that was chilling in the absence of mania. Painfully sane and fully aware of herself, she stood and loomed over the invalid without a threatening mannerism to be seen.

"You've got this backwards. You think we don't have any hope? That we flinched and faltered while you carried on fighting the good fight? That's a hoot. From where I'm standing, life is grand. I've got a room full of swell friends, a charismatic leader who understands and inspires us, and every night I can see that my work makes a tangible difference and empowers us all to be even better the next night."

Kanbaru released her midsection and settled the palm upon a cocked hip while her gaze focused solely upon the Hag's own pupils in an unblinking stare. "Now look at you. Alone and posturing in front of people who should have nothing but animosity towards you. Who have had their sanctuary intruded upon and been affronted by such open hostility."

"But you know, if we justifiable took out our ire on you, we'd be proving all your misconceptions correct in your mind. You think you have the moral high ground, whereas we deny any such place exists, sooooo~" In the blink of an eye she stepped aside and swept her arm out over the class as though offering it on a platter to the interloper. "Why don't you join us for our Christmas deliberations. You may call this a time of mourning but we still have a holiday to celebrate and one more mouth won't break our budget. Come on, we won't bite if you don't~"

Ami Murota

Ami was paying full attention when Touka brought up the Christmas party, practically bouncing in her seat as she thought if all the sweets she could snack on. Then the air went still as everyone stopped, paying attention to the foul presence that was exuded by the intruder who soon entered the Detention Club. She glared at the magical girl of the light, appearing to be quite angry at the girl who had wasted her time last night. The effect was a bit undercut by how she quickly grabbed a daifuku and stuffed it in her mouth, her cheeks puffed out as she began to chew. The class president spoke up, mentioning how she was perfectly willing to let everyone take a swing at the Hag, to which Ami smiled after swallowing the sweet in her mouth.

"I might just take you up on that Touka." The glare on her face faded into an ominous smile as she leaned towards Mari, the temperature around her rising a few degrees as she considered transforming right now and breaking every single one of her bones. No, not here, she enjoyed this club too much to start breaking everything without sufficient reason. Mari went into some sort of grandiose speech, apologizing to them all for failing to protect them. A moment of confusion crossed Ami's face before it slowly went blank. Kanbaru laughed at Mari, deriding her for her misconceptions and laughing in her face. Meanwhile Ami just stared at her. "What kind of high horse do you have to be on to look down on us for falling?" She began to tremble as she gripped the edge of her desk, the wood splintering a bit as she glared at Mari, the rage that constantly roiled within her beginning to boil as she thought about every single way she could break this intruder who dared to invade her happy place.

"You think you're better than us? You think you're better than me?!" Ami's voice rose to a shout as she shook. "You're a coward! I was willing to dig through the dirt and filth of humanity to gain my power, to be better than what you are! You think you get to look down on me for being better!? You get to look down on me because you stayed up in your gilded little tower where you get to stagnate for eternity!?" She snarled as she pounded a fist into the desk, an audible splintering echoing through the classroom. "I broke, I shattered into a million fucking pieces and you know what I did with those pieces? I put them back together into something better than you!" Ami screamed as she relived the lowest of moments, the fire burning her house down playing in slow motion behind her eyes as she looked down at her father's burnt corpse. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't break you, you pompous bitch! And I guarantee that you aren't going to spend five years bedridden, no you'll be lucky if you ever get out of bed again!" She shouted with rage as the edge of the desk she grasped exploded in her fists. Anyone of the other dark magical girls would recognize she was on the verge of flying off the handle at this point, marking the clear difference between Ami and the others. Whereas they were all cold and cynical, remaining cool and collected while attacking with cold hard logic when Mari insulted their way of life, Ami got mad. Mad enough to completely follow through with the threat their club president had lead this conversation with.

The day began a little different from the norm as she had just moved her home to town and for once had a bed to sleep in and a tub to wash her filthy body, but as much as she wanted to get better acquainted with said bed she had to get up early and attempt to retrieve her missing backpack from the night before. In hindsight, she should have gone out before setting up the house that night, but she was tired and wanted to put an end to the night right then a there so this was her punishment, getting up at the crack of dawn to attempt to retrieve her lost belongings. Because she must stay at least partly transformed to keep her house standing she carried her flag’s jewels as rings that decorated all ten of her fingers and a necklace that was draped around her elegant shoulders. The jewelry combined with the fact that the clothing she kept in the house never aged or dirties Soma looked more like an upper-class school girl. At night the streets were completely empty, but, in the morning, at least this morning people were out and about all over the place like pack rats stuffing the streets, getting back to the approximate place where her fight started yielded no results.

Looking around gave her little to nothing to work with and the little bit, she was given from passers-by was irrelevant at most until one bystander mentioned something about school giving her an idea. Her backpack was one that would be mistaken as a high school students’ maybe it was mistaken by another student and taken to school it was a long shot, but she was out of ideas at this point and so that’s how Soma Ikka jumped the gate of Misa High and started peeking in classroom after classroom, talking to passerby students if they had seen stitch or zipper of her backpack to no avail. Soma sighed, looking down and almost gave up trying again another day when she heard, arguing amongst the students and the protecting side of her personality kicked in drawing her closer to the club room. Something was off about them, she could tell from this distance that they weren’t regular people, they were magical girls a clear majority of them smelled like her sister Sol, tainted.

If they were just arguing she wouldn’t have stepped in but the loud one issued a real threat and the killing intent was seeping from her body, and at that moment two large walls divided the classroom one on top of the other for double the protection for both her and the rest of this school.

“Now I don’t know what is happening, nor do I care who’s in the right, but you need to calm yourself, do you have any idea where you are or how many innocent people are around this place for you two too just fly off the handle as magical girls fallen or not, grow the fuck up” Was the structure of words she chose when in reality she just didn’t want to extra work to protect innocent people when it can be stopped here and now “Take a good long breath and calm down”

Alex watched as Hikari entered the room and gave her a small wave. "Define doing well." She used her head to gesture towards Mari. "At least it's lively around here." She said with a small shrug. Sure, club meetings were fun but you don't get potential enemies bursting into your clubroom with daifuku every other day. So really, this was going to go down in one of her most favorable memories of encounters with the other side.

Of course, their president decided to question her motives. And a threat alongside with it. She was right. There was nothing holding anyone back from attacking her. After all, it was in their nature to fight with their counterpart. Be it because of natural competitiveness or something that's just inherent when you fall. Alex turned her head to Mari to hear what she wanted to do.

She then flinched when Mari finally spoke about her true intentions of coming here. It wasn't interest. It was to present an offering to them - like they were dead. Mari claimed that she had failed to protect them, to prevent them from falling. Alex shook her head ever so slightly and knew what was coming.

Kanbaru went up first. She stood for them, planting the idea that they didn't make a mistake. That just because they turned away from the light doesn't mean their life turned out worse. Then she invited Mari for the Christmas part planning, if she so wished to join. That turned out better than she thought. Really, it was. Though, of course, it wasn't over. It's always better to make things more complicated than it already is... note sarcasm.

Ami blew up. Alex wouldn't actually be surprised if she actually did... burst into flames. It was something she did sometimes. But Alex was legitimately concerned since the tension is rising and something might break. Well, aside from Ami's desk which already exploded thanks to her rage going over - or at least, very very close to it. "Oh boy, here's to hoping nothing else-"

She was effectively shut up by what seems to be another overwhelming aura of light coming over and it wasn't coming from Mari. Alex got used to it by now. This was a different one. Then these walls appeared as well as another one of the L. Magical Girls entered the classroom. "Now we've got ourselves a party." She muttered as she stood up. She narrowed her eyes at the newcomer. Alex did not recognize her, surprisingly enough. Alex didn't say anything other than that. Not to Mari, not to this newcomer and not to Ami.

She would stand her ground if they decided to attack. These were her clubmates - her friends - after all, and she won't let these girls harm her even if Ami was the one in the wrong. They gotta stick together. But Alex looked rather relaxed in posture, leaning on her desk now with her arms crossed as if waiting for something to just happen. Though, she did look over to her partner for a moment and then to Touka and Chie wondering what order they would issue.

While Touka made generic non-murder threats and the light Magical Girl responded in kind with bedroom eyes at Alex and non-answers for the rest of them, Maiko continued to palm more daifuku, eating away. If she tried hard enough, she could probably understand what the newcomer was here for, but honestly, the battlesexual brawler really just didn't care. Indeed, it was only at the last statement, of how she'd fight back if they started shit up, that Maiko perked up slightly.

Then Kanbaru had to ruin it by speaking on behalf of everyone else. Tearing a daifuku in half, she locked eyes with the edgy gun girl as scarlet puree oozed from the sides of the rice cake. Held her gaze for a moment, a flicker of outrage emerging at how that blue-haired slut thought she could encapsulate everyone else's opinions with a bullshit 'we'. Thankfully, Ami was always a dark horse, a wild abberation fueled by wrathful flames, and Maiko smirked. Yeah, fuck solidarity. They were here to kill shit, not play ring-around-the-rosie. And with Ami's hatred came another Magical Girl out of the blue, already transformed, already shouting out new orders.

Great.

Awesome.

She felt the hair on the back of her neck prickling upwards, as she finished off the last of the daifuku. Hopping off her seat, Maiko stretched her neck, rolled her shoulders, popped her fingers, peered through the translucent barriers that separated light from dark, before flashing a great big grin at the newcomer.

"Hey now, chill out, buttercup," the girl said, eyes alive with emerald lightning, "If innocents get involved, that's totes on you for not bringing in enough gifts and snacks to keep us busy, okay? Really, what did you even expect, coming in here without prior notice? Tsk tsk, shoulda thought about that while you were bedridden for five years, eh, sister?"

They were at the cusp. And light Magical Girls were always good at cleaning up after the messes the dark side made.

"Ami, let's double team the shit out of these nerds!"

De-escalation? Hahah, nope. It had been way too long since she had a half-decent fight, and now, Maiko was rock-hard and ready to burst~!

"It was just a small delay, and nothing much would happen from it" was what she first thought when taking the time to help the one in charge of the school's library tidy up. Manami had taken some time from her class to help classmates with their studies, nothing really odd when she did it every so often. To compensate for the time lost, she made sure to study hard and remain in the top spots when it came to grades, so that she could keep this earned priviledge. And, to keep up with her image, she agreed to help the librarian with the mess of books they left behind, as cold climate had taken its toll on the assistant and they were now bedridden. It was a calm and simple task, the routinary movements serving to put order in Manami's thoughts.

They naturally drifted towards the last night. She didn't make her presence known as she didn't feel like getting in petty squabbles about kill steals and others. If she was to operate, she'd rather do so in smaller groups. Whatever she had done the last night, though, didn't mean she was allowed to miss the regularly scheduled Detention Center meeting. It raised a couple of eyebrows back at her home when the housemaid began to wonder why was she returning much later than usual. However, any doubts were quickly washed away with the simple excuse that she was there to 'lend a hand in the reformation of wrongdoers as an example to follow.'

"An example to follow..." She muttered those words under her breath. Yes, that's why she was here. All the lot of them, so unorderly and savage in their ways of hunting. Giving in to their most raw and basic instincts. Just because one has power it doesn't mean that one must be careless and get overconfident. Instead, one must downplay their own capabilities to find the best moment to attack. A single, lethal strike; a definitecoup de grace.

With those thoughts in mind, Manami made her way to the Detention Club. Being a couple of minutes late wouldn't bring up that much of a fuss; in fact, it's the perfect time to arrive: It is assured that one doesn't have to wait for the rest to arrive and that she'd be able to hear the most of what this meeting was about. Still, she was absolutely sure that something was wrong as she walked through the hallway. A feeling that she slowly discerned as she approached the source: an uncorrupted magical girl had made her way to the club. However, the building wasn't a pile of rubble as of yet, so it was safe to assume that they all managed to keep their collective cool and not succumb to rage...

"You think you're better than us? You think you're better than me?!"

... She struggled not to sigh in disappointment. The voice was echoing through the hallways thanks to the open door's of the club. At this pace, this'd raise a lot of questions and they may get an earful from the school's authorities for disturbing the neighbouring classes or something of the sort. However, as she turned the corner of the hallway, the sight of an unknown figure stuck her by surprise was unmiste. She seemed like a wealthy girl, but the empalagating feeling of positive energy was unmistakeable: That girl was definitely one of the Light. "This is unfortunate..." was all that she muttered. Inside of her, she felt the need to deliver more blatant and vile words, however she didn't know if anyone was listening. Instead, she hurried towards the club and braced herself to be met with the start of a fight. And, in case such an event happened, she had to keep a favorable position against the possible foes. With that in mind, Manami made her appearance.

"Really, I thought you all would be more discreet than this" she said with a sigh as she took her place by the door, right behind the intruders. The way those words were pronounced making it seem like she adressed both the newcomers and the members of the club. As it seemed, she had arrived just in the nick of time of what she wanted to avoid. "If you keep up with the racket, eventually people will come and ask questions, don't you all agree?"

"Didn't I just ask you to not break anything? You are just going to cause more hardships for the President. What if we don't get the authorization to have our party here because of this?" Chie said to Ami as she quietly placed her book back in her bag after the table had been broken. The redheaded girl took the moment to adjust her didn't take any more overt actions yet—hoping that Ami would listen to the voice of reason. If she pushed the issue further ahead, things would change.

As soon as she finished her plea, Chie stood up and walked to the barrier that one of the intruders had set up. " Considering the way you are dressed, I can clearly see that you aren't a student at this school. Please, put this down and leave immediately. If you don't comply, I'll call the student council to escort you out, and hand you to the responsible authorities," she said in a collected way, fixing her glasses before staring right in eyes of the one responsible for this magic.

"And you," Chie said, turning her gaze towards Mari, "What in the world did you think that would happen if you came here and belittled us with such condescending words? Do you have no emotional intelligence at all? If you do, please, leave as well. You have done enough damage for a day, " she added in a serious tone, loaded more with contempt than hatred.

Hopefully, the intruders would listen, before their after-school time was tinted crimson.

Kelly kept a close eye on the new girl. Already transformed and slinging magic around? This girl took subtlety out back, shot it, and then desecrated the corpse. She's going to be a problem, no question about it. Echoing her club leader's sentiments, Kelly commented, "Yeah, most people wouldn't be able to see this crap, but we aren't most people. Personally, I don't mind all that much if you stay here- we could always use more bodies, but knock it off with the magic. It's better for all of us, and look at the numbers- if you start something, we're probably going to be the ones finishing it."

Ah, as expected. Mari bit her lip ever so slightly as she cast away her gaze upon hearing the replies of the assorted magical girls to her stance. One of them, which had missed, had laughed. Another one, the volcanic magical girl who had been shouting at her last night was spewing death threats, emboldened by what their ringleader had said.

And then unexpected things happened. What was another child of Light barging in the Dark Girl's den? And trying to break up the fight nonetheless. Mari's eyes tensed at the display as she clenched into a fist. This was escalating out of control. And then another bloodthirsty voice raised her tone cheering upon battle. She frowned ever so slightly, as a practitioner of karate, such glee for violence was against self-discipline. Still.

She stretched one hand interposing the sight between the aggressive Dark ones and the newcomer. "Please forgive her. Clearly she is trying to do what she thinks she is best." Mari decided to talk, as she eyed more and more magical girls and their replies. While they couldn't hide the contempt they were more reluctant to have a throwdown just because.

"The others... the ones before you, they never listened. They allowed beasts to nest inside their hearts, and ended up fighting for scraps. With words like knives, i sometimes manage to get people to heed my warnings. Emotional intelligence? I suppose it has deadened over time ever since I became a magical girl. My apologies" She added. Her eyes focused on Ami, the flaming one. "If you raise your fist against me, won't you prove my point and contradict your peers? That enough should be the reason." She then decided to end the conversation. "I think this amounts to what I have to say. Stay safe." She added in a detached, neutral tone, as she walked towards the other magical girl and the door.

"Come with me, It seems you are in need of directions and help." She indicated the barrier girl.

Soma rolled her eyes snapping her fingers and letting the barrier drop between them, but she still kept her half transformed state not like she had a choice in the matter. She didn’t calm things down, but the murderous intent was at least subsiding the shock value of magic being tossed around so freely. Looking around the room being that only two light magical girls were here, which was strange being that while she had encountered many other light girls in the past, she avoided interacting with them so this was a first; however, she assumed they doubled up into teams but here this girl was completely alone with no backup in a room of wolves. The strangest thing in this room were the fallen ones being that her sister was the only dark magical girl she had met and Sol much like herself preferred her freedom and alone time admittedly for different reasons but the core was there.

“My magic is protection based if you take a shield as a threat that's sad in its own right,” Soma said. Being on her own for so long had made her patience short by nature, even while protecting innocent people she did so without sticking around too long she helped and protected people because she wanted to, it was part of her freedom, and now just about the whole room was barking orders to her. “Secondly, I have a feeling a piece of my property was taken to this school looking for it and hearing the snarling of a mad dog drew me to this room, if you’re student council are regular people I can’t see how they’d be any use to you I may not harm but I’m pretty hard to spot and catch,” She finished explaining herself though she had no proof her backpack was actually in the school but these people didn’t have to know a blessed thing.

With that said Soma spun around her heels and started to make her way out of the door before stopping in front of the other child of light “I don’t take orders, you’re free to find me, try again and request like a civilized human whose approaching a complete stranger and judging by your tone you’ve been at this a whole lot longer than you look so you already know were all solo acts, at least were supposed to be” The barrier girl finished
