We recently lost a site mod from staff.

We were able to add one before this loss, so we're not in a huge hurry to add a site mod.

Which means we can take time to let people show interest and do follow-ups.

If you're interested in helping out the community as a site mod send me a PM on the site or a DM on Discord and let me know!

Think you need to be well known or a pal of someone on staff already for that? Our last site mod pick wasn't either (to us--of course some people knew him well and loved him as much as we've grown to love him) and we picked him.

You must be 18 or older.

@Moss No, but if someone volunteers and you second their notion it likely helps.

It's 2020 and there is still no mod for the status bar.

The status bar is like Oakland, or Downtown L.A.

You can't moderate it, and you're not supposed to attack it directly without a full squadron.

Being a programmer I'd not attack it directly in the first place but stab it in the back using some sinister algorithms. Like... A status post cooldown for example? I mean... It's not like anybody's status would change entirely within a few minutes or even a small bunch of hours unless maybe you are encountering an event so acute and severe that posting in the status bar might not be your most immediate priority anyway.

A non-chat, non-karaoke status bar would both be easier to moderate and more friendly towards those who actually have a meaningful status or opinion they'd like to transmit to their fellow roleplayers.

Tl;dr

I'd really like to help, but those who know me more closely probably also know that I'm already busied enough by my humble life so I'd not be a good Moderator :)

A status bar mod is redundant when regular mods already fulfill that niche.

If the status bar is really that much of an issue for people, then they should just hide it from view or hope Mahz develops a way to block/hide certain uses and/or statuses. Besides, the status bar has nothing on RPGO in terms of argumentative, raunchy or memey content.

Thank you to the huge response from the community so far. We have a good number of candidates and I don't see a reason to stop taking interest.

Just know there's a lot, and we eventually want to talk to every single person who expressed interest. It will take some time, but that's why we gave ourselves plenty of time to work with.
