Hauta stood there as the scorpion creature walked up next to him with the flaming femme fatale on its tail and licked him. Unconsciously the flames from her body interacted with the air current around him creating sparks of ember as he whistles ”that is one hot woman'' in the back of his mind he thinks he knows this woman but now isn't the time for that. In the corner of his eye two seemingly friends based on how they talked and gestured to each other punched one of the other in the face. He looks back towards the alien as it darts through the hall noticing the bird flying and freezing everything in front of them while they split into two different halls the creature and the flaming femme fatale heading down a different one, a different direction than the elevators while the what seemed to be an icy phoenix kept himself in front of the elevator. Pondering for a moment on what to do with these new found companions he thinks should he move forward with them or scout ahead but what would they think of this stranger who asked to join than left without them. After taking a second to think he rushes forward towards the hall with the frozen guards flipping over the phoenix kicking off the roof using a burst of compressed air to launch himself past the bullets being shot at him using the air to force his body to flip forward to preform an aerial ax kick hitting the front guard at the top of his head launching him down to the ground using his head as a spring board to launch himself into a spinning round house kick to the neck than quickly dropping to the ground twisting into horse stance and out stretching his arm rotating the wind around his palm and pushing it into the chest of the final guard causing his chest to collapse inward and his body thrown into elevator door forcing it to open itself back up after it tries to close on the now limp body.
Quickly he goes for a seemingly forward punch and uses the air around his feet to launch himself at high speeds through the door kicking off the ground and smashing through the service grabbing the rope that holds the elevator to spin himself around and gain momentum to throw himself at the walls and start scaling them jumping back and forth until he reaches the top floor's ventilation shaft in which he breaks through quickly and begins his accent to the heads office to get his sword back. For a secure facility they don't have any protections in the shafts he thinks to himself than again they might not think anyone would be able to make it this far. He continues forward until he reaches what seems to be a set of offices as he peers through the vents small opening he closes his eyes and listens to the air to hear any movement. Picking up one or two subtle traces he assumes its relatively safe the commotion downstairs must have caused enough of a ruckus for the guards to head down there. He opens the grate and falls down using the air around him to slow his decent to keep it quite. It seem to be a conjoined hallway leading in two directions a small wayfinding sign saying wardens office and pointing in a direction he heads in the direction until he hits a door and hears a man inside yelling he seemed to be on the phone.

“I don’t give a damn we have a break out happening on our premises we need as many reinforcements as possible we house some of the most dangerous criminals of all time send find some hero's and get them over here” he yells disgruntled and slams the phone down. Getting next to the door and hanging himself low next to the window Kanata hears yelling and screaming as things are being broken he uses this opportunity to knock on the door and change his voice using his shapeshifting powers to mimic a guard from below who was yelling before than the head honcho wants him. The warden than proceeds to open the door and before he can get a word out Kanata throws his forearm onto the neck of the warden pushing him back into the office against the wall and uses the air flow behind him to push the door closed.“Try to struggle all you want you wont escape tell me where all our gear is and i might let you live”. The warden struggles a bit before kanata uses his abilities to drain the air from his lungs feeling his ability to breath drain from his body he uses his eyes to point to a bookcase that was a few feet away from him throwing the warden to the ground he grabs the bookcase tearing it down to show a store room. He looks around for his katana and cant find it he feels the stirring in the air turning to the warden picking up a clothed item that he got from next to his desk he tries to take out the object which happened to be Raikiri the katana that belongs to Kanata as he tries to grab the hilt it shocks him to causing him to drop it as kanata swiftly picks it up.

“This blade was forged from a raiju and a byakko that were killed in combat after entrusting their essence with me to forge this blade it recognizes only one master me and you dared to put your filthy hands on it unforgivable” The warden tries to say something but is cut short as kanata drops into ai stance and quickly cuts the throat of the warden electricity trailing behind the blade and than resheathing it within less than a second. I guess ill see if i can find anyone else’s stuff to return with he steps inside the vault once more on the wall he sees a scythe that he recognizes as he goes forward tears swell in his eyes as a blast from his past of a once known child he tried to protect hits him in the gut, why was it here could she have been alive but he saw her die he could only do what he thought and take the stuff to try and find the person using it and get his answers he craved. He smashes the glass taking the scythe and other contents inside it out and then finds a box with his name on it. He grabs it and opens it showing his suit inside as he quickly puts it on his black tie and black vest over a white dress shirt all made using the pelts of the Byakko his chains on his waist that clip around to his back to hold his Raikiri created using the claws of the kamaitachi sliding his sheathed blade into its holster he picks up his black over coat embroidered in silver made out of a once famous yokai resurrected named Otakemaru. He than searches for anything else he might be able to carry finding a guitar case with the name Ameliya on it he opens it to find a sniper than it hits him the flaming woman was the lady he had the cat and mouse chase with that he flirted with after she tried to kill him several times and failed. Laughing to himself he proceed to pick it up and put it on his back now caring a long dagger and scythe next to the guitar case he proceeds to head back to the elevator it seems that no one is left in the halls and the trip goes smoothly before he hits the elevator prying the doors open he jumps down landing on top of the elevator from before he slowly drops the items on his back through before jumping down carefully to not step on anything seeing the group from before seemed to have regrouped he grabs his stuff and says "I brought gifts".

Upside down. Blissfully unaware of the goings on outside. There were a lot of pitter patter of feet.

“One feet,”

“Two feet,”

“Hehehe,”

“Bye bye feet,”

The feet were stomping. Running. His feet were wildly stuck in the air as he waved them around toward the ceiling. Feet. Feet. Hehe. He's listening in, wondering what’s going on and why there is so much stomping going on outside.

“They have escaped!”

Ohhhhh? Nifty. Nifty swifty. The prisoners have escaped. The guards sound scared, worried, or concerned or both or all of them. Swinging his feet around. The lights flickered briefly. Hmmmmm? The lights danced briefly. More stomping outside.

Then the locks clicked. Something is happening outside. Simone huffs, blowing what little hair has gotten in his eyes. Is it warmer in his cell? Maybe? Swinging his legs back and forth. His ears perk up to the sound of-

-Huh is that killing outside!? Are people dying outside of his cell?

“One guard,”

“Two guards,”

“Thre- no that’s an inmate,”

“Bye bye inmate,”

“Three guards!”

“Hehehe”

It feels warmer in his cell. Maybe. Just a little? He feels a little warmer, unlike before. Blood feels like it is flowing again. His cell door opens-

-AAAAAAAAH!” he slams the door closed.

“Ah?” Simone ask.

The guard turns around, “Fuck! Do - do you have powers?”

“Heehe, silly everybody here does,”

“How - how bad are you?”

“Not bad at all,” Simone tells him, “They took me in and I have done nothing wrong.”

“That can’t be true,” the guard stammers.

“Oh it's very true,” Simone responds, “What’s your name?”

“Edward,”

Eddy the No Face Guard. Because all the guards look the same. They all wear the same clothes. Maybe they are the same person!

“That’s a nice name,” he giggles.

“How old are you?” Eddy ask him.

“I dunno,”

Eddy suddenly has a face to show expression. He looks confused. Simone’s confused too. He answered truthfully. He blinks at Eddy’s puzzlement.

“You don’t know?”

“It’s the truth,”

“They just threw a child into Thornwood?” Eddy sounds baffled.

“Does everyone here deserve to be here, in your opinion?”

Eddy takes time to think about it, scratching his red beard. Ope. No face. His face vanishes until needed for further purpose.

“I suppose,” Eddy sighs with conflict in his voice, “Not.”

“See,” Simone kicks his legs in the air, “I don’t belong in here.”

“There’s a riot happening,” Eddy begins to explain, “Someone has taken over the facility, the power isn’t working as well, and the inmates are escaping. Powers are back online.”

That’s very interesting.

“Saaaay, Eddy, I am going to have to defend myself,” Simone begins in his sing-song way.

“I don’t know if I feel comfortable with releasing you,”

Simone blinks and does jumping jacks in the air, “I promise I won’t do anything bad and I’ll go right back to my cell if that’s what you want after. Pretty pleaaase. You came in here which means you need to be protected, righhht?”

“I - you promise? I could lose my job if I let you free,”

“I promise,”

Eddy makes his way over. March. March. Authoritative feet. He leans over him, still upside down, till he somersaults to stand up. Facing Eddy. Staring into his pixelated blurry face. Wait, it would be better if he had a face now. Staring into his pensive brown eyes.

“I am going to release you,” Eddy tells him, putting his hands on the straps of his jacket.

“Thank you,”

“One strap,”

“Two strap,”

Eddy watches him hesitantly, “You’re really a child, aren't you?”

“And it was very bad to lock me in here, huh?”

Eddy hesitantly begins to undo the bindings of his straightjacket. Eddy is so tall. But Simone leans his head into his chest. As if a child would bury their head into the chest of a Father. Silly Eddy isn’t his Father. But that’s what Eddy wants.

“What are you thinking about?” Simone asks Eddy.

“I,” Eddy seems puzzled by his gesture, but places his hand on his head, “My own children. And how I would feel if they were in a place like this.”

“Aww, that’s so sweet, I remind you of your children,”

Finally his bindings are done. Stretching out his arms. Mmmm. Nice. Eddy looks at him. Oh he still has a face. He’s smiling warmly at him. Simone leaps up to hug Eddy, “Oh thank you! Thank you!”

“Of course, should we get out of here?” Eddy smiles.

“I think so,” Simone smiles, dropping back to the ground.

Eddy nods and begins to lead. He wasn’t paying attention very well. Poor Eddy probably just wanted to go home. His feet go stomp. Stomp. As he is motivated to protect him. Simone fiddles with the gun he took from Eddy’s holster. Oh did he say nothing about that? He took it. Tee-Hee.

“Say,” Simone speaks up as Eddy opens the door.

“Yes, what is it-

-Bang. Eddy is shocked. They never fall to the floor dramatically like they do in the movies. Eddy’s eyes shake. He goes to grab for his taser.

“I took that too, while we were talking,” Simone giggles.

“Why?!” Eddy screams.

“So that way you can wonder what it is like to be killed by your children too,”

Of course he didn’t Have to kill him. But Eddy is a guard. And Simone could never be friends with a guard. If Simone was going to be a hero, then he had to kill the bad guys. He heads to the door and opens it, stepping out of his cell. Now what did freedom look like in a prison riot?

Abigail “Atom Bomb” Zebrowski

Abby was happy to have the others watching her back, she was sure she would not get past the heavy guards on her own. The only problem is that there seemed to be more of them than before, “Kail theirs more food for ya, clear a path for us pretty please.” Pointing towards the armed guards blocking the elevator. Being licked by the giant alien dog, The punk girl had a feeling that Kail considered her a friend. Abby was not sure if she could be as effective as the others, her powers would not be as effective as the others. Her confidence seemed to deflate a little, She didn’t think that she would not be able to keep up with the others. But Abby felt a sudden rush of energy surging throughout her body. Turning her head around wondering where the radiation came from. She was sure as hell thankful because now she could help the group with fighting the guards. Her eyes started to turn a bright shade of green, her whole body emitting a good amount of radiation. If she could compare this feeling it would be like getting a hit of heroin.

Shame I can’t thank whoever gave me that boost.” Her hands started to glow, shooting the light green balls towards the guards. Causing the guards that were hit to roll around on the floor, some of them removing their helmets revealing their blistered and burnt faces. Fighting her way through the guards and towards the elevator. Kicking the faces of the guards that were coming towards her, Using the boost of power to disable their attackers. Letting the others clean up the weakened guards. Drop kicking one of the guards, quickly getting back onto her feet. Grabbing a guard’s arm, disarming him and taking the pistol from his hands. Pointing it at another guard that was trying to attack Iris. Hesitating for a moment, her hands were shaking violently. She could hear a voice speaking to her, “Do it, if you don’t your friend is going to die.” Quickly looking around wondering where the voice was coming from. Turning her attention back to the guards attacking Iris, she pulled the trigger popping a few shots into them. Stunning him enough for Iris to finish him off.

Abby was still shaking from firing the gun at the guard, taking another human life. “Your a killer Abby, you enjoy watching the light leave your victim's eyes. If you don’t act and defend yourself, your gonna end up as a corpse.” The voice seemed to be happening in her head. “Who is this? Where are ya?” Screaming out loud wondering if it was Mr.Q talking to her. “I’m not who you think I am, I'm just a friend watching your back. You better head to the elevator, or your gonna be DEAD LAST.” This made Abby snap back to what was going on around her. Quickly picking up another pistol that was on the ground, duel wielding both pistols. Firing them at the guards while moving towards the elevator. Of course because of her inexperience, she missed most of her shots. Throwing the empty pistols at the guards, going back to using her powers. Firing those deadly green bolts of radiation at the heavily armed men. Running towards one of the guards, twisting the man’s arm breaking it with a loud SNAP. She was no killer, she was not like the others. The people that Abby killed were all accidents. But then again she was still a murderer, even if it was an accident she still took a person’s life. Running over towards the elevator, once the way was clear by her group.”We wait for the others, I’m not gonna leave anyone behind.” She said to Körbl, holding the door for the others to join her.

Hmph.

Seeing multiple people getting into the lift and taking their time, it was like seeing an anthive being open forcefully by a shovel. So many inmates, prisoners, and guards. Fighting desperately for their freedom.

That kind of raw fight, where everything is on the line.

It never gets tiring to see it.

Then as Abby finally went inside and he joining her side, they were joined by others as the level that they're on will finally be traversed.

Still, who knows how many levels are there left?

@ZephyrHope

Then someone apparently dropped right on top of their lift, one that had him instantly looked up and readied to fight but there was no hostile intent. Opening itself and with someone armed to the teeth as they deposited many weapons, Körbl eyes looked and sighted a sword.

"Can I have one of those?"Körbl pointed to a Katana. It was no messer and he had never really utilized these before but it was better than nothing.

Alfred Gunther/The Frostbite

Never One...

Without the Other

She was no killer, she was not like the others. The people that Abby killed were all accidents. But then again she was still a murderer, even if it was an accident she still took a person’s life. Running over towards the elevator, once the way was clear by her group. ”We wait for the others, I’m not gonna leave anyone behind.” She said to Körbl, holding the door for the others to join her.

Frostbite quickly flew in from the hallway, his path trailing with a cold aftermath of frost and snow. The Phoenix's eyes didn't blink at the grisly sights to both his left and right; perhaps this is because he was a creature of such primordial age, existing since before civilization had even risen in the earliest cradles of humanity. Short lived human lives were just numbers to it by now, the comprehension of the Frostbite and its brethren far beyond the ken of mere mortals. However, with those it chooses, to the men and women that he and the rest of the kind dare bind themselves to, they achieve an eternal mutual understanding, an intertwining of thoughts and emotions so deep that they could be said to be one being with two minds. The rest of those that stood in the way of the Frost Phoenix's freedom, however, will be made into history, though their names will be forgotten in the next centuries.

"Before you ask, no, I'm not reverting. Not yet," Frostbite simply said as he folded his cold wings closer to his icy body the same way any other bird would. "Now where are the rest? If a league of superheroes come here before we can scatter into the four winds of the Earth, we're screwed."

Striding quickly down the corridor, Ameliya only paid half attention as she saw the new guy make his way in front of her. He seemed to be in a rush but she couldn't blame him, she wanted to get in the elevator and see this hell hole in the background as fast as possible.

Stomping into the elevator and taking a spot close to the back, Ameliya turned around to look around at the rest of the incoming group. "Get in quick or we are leaving you behind," She shouted out to the rest of the inmates.

The younger women seemed to have other ideas though and held open the elevator waiting for everyone and anyone, leaving Ameliya staring at her unbelievably. Did she not understand what they were facing? A scowl crossed her face but instead of saying anything, she leaned against the elevator's wall, making it sizzle and melt slightly under her burning hot weight.

Tsk

The longer they were here the more likely they were going to get caught and if what they had experienced before was considered the norm, she really didn't want to know what their harsh punishment would be. Each second longer she watched the other members leisurely make their way into the elevator she found herself really wishing she knew where the stairs were. If they didn't all get their asses in here in the next minute, she was going to make the decision for Abby and get the old rust bucket of an elevator moving.

That was about when someone jumped back down from the roof of the elevator and Ameliya was startled to stand back on her feet expecting another fight. Though she was surprised to find not only it was the guy who had gone in front of them, so that's where he went, but he also hands handfuls of ... gifts?

Wait, wasn't that her sniper rifle? How the hell did he know the insignificant-looking guitar case would hold something helpful? and ... how did he know it was one of theirs?

Ameliya looked at the man suspiciously for a moment before leaning over and with a hand no longer on flame, picking up the case. Her eyes never left him as she stared at him, waiting to see if this was all some kind of trick. Though standing back up with her sniper bag in her hand, Ameliya stood there bewildered.

"...Thank you?" Ameliya said uncertainly, the words on her tongue feeling so foreign.

Julia Kray

@Perse@The Man Emperor@Restalaan@Eviledd1984@TheRedWatcher@Klumsykrow357@KaelRavenheart@SrslyAnArtist@Blazion@ZephyrHope

Most of the fighting in the corridor had subsided as Julia raced to the elevator, smoking gun in gloved hand. Her eyes were still streaming from the tear gas that she had cowardly chosen to stew in while the others were either unaffected or had moved on to the corridor. The floor was slick with blood, though, and Julia slipped, lost her balance and fell hard, knocking the wind out of her. The gun clattered from her grasp and slid away out of reach. Forget the gun. Julia shakily got back to her feet and ran, slower and more careful this time, though that was making her take longer to reach the elevator most of the other had already reached.

She was finally almost there, when she was tackled by a guard in full riot gear, who was already grasping at her arms to try to restrain her. Powered by nothing but adrenaline and fear, she thrashed at first, and let out a shrill, gut-wrenchingly desperate "NO!!" Again, before her rational mind could comprehend the weight of her actions, she acted instincually on self-preservation. Just like the police, and just like the guards. She shook off the glove on her right hand, and then grabbed the exposed skin of the guard's face, and squeezed. That was no accident. That was intent to kill.

She desperately crawled to the elevator, too panicked to get up, and made her way inside. Only then did she get back to her feet, and look round at the guard. The veins in his face had all turned black, as had his eyes. He was choking in panic and agony as the poison spread rapidly throughout his body. He was still alive and convulsing when he fell to the ground, the excruciating pain and terror still showing in his facial expression.

Julia looked away. She had turned pale, and her breathing was deep and labored. Her eyes were defocused and in shock. Her now bare right hand was being subconsciously covered and shielded by her still-gloved left hand. She didn't look at anyone. She didn't say anything.

Lionel Gift

Mr. Q was turned his head to face the door, “It seems they have started the plan before schedule, oh well humans have always been so impatient.” Turning to face Lionel keeping his unnerving smile on his face, “It seems we will be escaping sooner than we anticipated, isn’t that exciting!” Exclaiming like it was the best thing to happen since sliced bread. Rubbing his chin thinking of what they could do while waiting for the others to spring Lionel out, The baby villain was for the time being indebted to Q. Something that he would have to keep in over his head, to make him follow whatever his plan was after escaping. “If I may ask, were you born with your abilities to manipulate others via touch, or was there some incident that caused it? Are your abilities connected with your long lifespan?

Lionel's small blonde eyebrow popped up once again as Mr. Q. informed him of the goings on in the other parts of the prison. His cell wing was supplied with its own generator and security systems, so any disruption to the main system would not affect his own circumstances. He shook his head in dismay. Genius went truly unappreciated in a place like this. No one could ever wait to execute a well thought out plan. It always ended up in brute force and a riot. So uncivilized. Still, he couldn't really complain. After all, if all went according to plan he would be able to finally be free of this accursed cell so that he could resume his good work. "I suppose it is exciting, though I must say, if they are this unruly when they are all focused on a single goal, how do you expect to keep them in line once they are free?"

Lionel's face bore a slightly condescending smirk as he questioned the dark figure, but it vanished from his small lips as the man began asking questions about his abilities and their origins. "Curious about me are you? While I can understand your fascination, surely you don't believe me so foolish as to divulge potentially sensitive information on the nature of my capabilities so soon after we've only just met?" He pulled his hat from his head and clutched it tightly to his small chest, suddenly wringing it nervously as his eyes opened up into wide, fearful innocence and his voice trembled as he said "Please sir, I'm not supposed to talk to strangers. I just want to find my mommy and daddy. Can you help me?" He dropped the facade with a childlike giggle and placed his hat back atop his head, smirking at the imposing figure once more.

"I'm suprised a man of your...capabilities doesn't already know the information you seek. Forgive me, but I do not think my debt to you warrants disclosure of my past. At least not yet. After all, I know nothing of your own past, now do I? So why should I offer that which is unlikely to be reciprocated. Quid pro quo, Mr. Q. But not yet. For now, I believe you have a riot to direct and I must practice my speech for whichever of your little pawns is the one to release me."

Looking at the inmates in the elevator startled at his entrance “I believe this is yours red” he said looking down to Ameliya handing her the sniper rifle. After receiving her thanks he paused then responded “you owe me a date after we get out of this Juliet” winking to her.

Turning to the man who asked for his sword he looked at him interesting at first glance he immediately recognized a fellow swordsman though the way his muscles were built signified he trained with a different weapon than a katana.

“Sorry kid this blade can only be used by me maybe if we get out of this I can forge you a new sword one more fit to your style”. Turning to the rest of the people in the elevator “apologies I didn't bring gifts for everyone”

Maybe it was the fact that she was so close to getting out of this hell hole, or maybe it was the fact that life had decided today was the day that everything went off the walls crazy. Either way, Ameliya couldn't help but snort out a burst of laughter as she swiftly started to piece together who the man in front of her was.

He was one of the last people she had expected to run into in the asylum. Hell, she thought the so-called almighty Yakuza leader would have too many connections to end up in this hole in the ground. Now taking back her sniper rifle, she wouldn't admit, but she was kind of happy that she hadn't managed to finish off the hit job on him.

In the past he had been an annoying threat, one might even sound downright frustrating, as he spouted terrible pickup lines and even referenced Shakespeare but here. Well here, he might actually come in handy and after all, it looked all they all had the same goal.

No longer seeing him as an immediate threat, she wouldn't deny that his levity was welcome in the tense situation. What she would deny all the way to her grave, was the fact that his little cocky wink had her heart flitting with excitement. So with a smirking smile, Ameliya looked back at the mischievous man and said, "Fuck it. If we make it out of here alive, I will think about it."

Randolph’s vision opened to a placid sea of emptiness, darkness surrounded him. There were no sources of light, no markers from which he can discern anything beyond vague shapes and yet he intrinsically knew where he was. A place whispered in thoughts, seen in dreams, neither of which were his own. It has always been revealed only in glimpses previously however, fractured images and thoughts which lingered in the mind but refused to hold attention. This time was unusual, it was clear and vivid.

He had little time to dwell on it as a void emerged from the darkness. A writhing, shifting shapeless mass that grew from the darkness, seeming to absorb it into its own mass. Clumps of the thing detached in one place and reformed in another, constantly shifting its arrangement. Randolph felt like he said be afraid, at this thing that he did not understand. What was it? What does it want? Does it even think? Randolph, however, felt at ease. It seemed to comfort him, even as the thing darker than darkness enveloped him. Even as Randolph breathed in the thing.

Randolph felt a pressure in his chest as he joined the mass. Growing in intensity but not pain. Then it spoke to him. Not with words to be heard but images to be seen, but not by his eyes but by his thoughts. It told him many things, too many things, and too fast. He could not decipher the information as fast as he received it, but he got what he needed. What it needed him to know. He knew what it wants him to do.

Randolph woke with a start, and was immediately overloaded by the light. ”Uth kth’ai thruik kath!” Randolph yelled out in Ghoul, as he put one paw to cover his eyes. Used to darkness, lit enviroments is not something Randolph likes to wake up to, it blinded his vision and was physically painful to be exposed to when he did not have time to adjust.

Randolph rolled on the ground for a moment, in agony, but also trying to recall what happened prior. He vaguely recalls blood. The rendering of flesh, the ecstasy of bloodlust, the liberating feeling of being wild and free after being contained for so long. He remembers. Others, right there were…. Acquaintances? Friends? He was not sure, he could not think in this environment. He needed to go somewhere darker to let his vision adjust.

Randolph barreled away from the others. Even without sight he had other senses with which to navigate. He could smell the others, each with their own scent. His ears could locate them better however, detecting their breathing, their hearts beating. He could also faintly detect the environment. The vibrations given off by him and others could be felt by him, objects absorbed the vibration while open space allowed it to travel almost freely. With this sense he can sort of map the area near him as long as they were touching each other. He traveled back to a burrow, to darkness, or at least dim light. There he could reorient himself, and rejoin the others later. But for now he needed to reflect on what he learned in solitude, and how to move forward with his task. Randolph will require the aid of others, but he will need to be careful with how much he reveals as potential allies can also be potential foes...

Kailani

@twave@Perse@Silver Carrot@Lurking Shadow

An excited chittering broke out in the cell at the exact moment Min-Ji even began with the first syllable of Kailani’s name, her tail wiggling - though thankfully not knocking into Ameliya. The shockwave from her was strange, but it must’ve been some equally strange greeting. As such as soon as the human was close enough Kailani licked her face, the happy high-pitched lilt of her chitters almost akin to the chirp of birds. The alien pulled herself from the cell to let Min-Ji out, for a moment eyeing the two guards on the floor, trying to be as quiet and non-threatening as possible.

The one with flaming feet tugged at her tail, and both the human women mentioned it was time to go. Kailani’s teeth snapped but finally she turned from the two men to follow.

At least, that was the plan until the ground accompanying the cell burst upwards like one of her own kind bursting forth - though this creature was much furrier than most of her species. All at once a familiar scent hit her nose, though far more concentrated. It was mouth watering, and no surprise who accompanied it.

The delicious words man has been busy! Randolph was covered in blood and other equally delicious bits and pieces, almost embedded into his fur - and then his aggression was melting away. He seemed disorientated, but he complimented her scent which caused the alien’s tail to thump. Immediately after he coughed up something directly in front of the alien, Kailani dipping her head down to sniff intently. After a moment she picked up the saliva covered gun barrel, it crunching and disappearing in her gullet.

Kai would be sure to share some of her meaty kills later!

With an excited shriek and a burst of chittering, she picked up Randolph as he pitched forward towards the ground. He was filthy! With a burst of speed the alien took off down the hall with the two humans, delicious words man safely ensconced in her large clawed paw. And maybe licked a bit. Just a little.

… It was a lot. He was covered in delicious bits.

Leaving the two extremely thankful guards behind, there was little to stop the group from merging back with the others. The alien’s plates shifted as a low, rumbling growl echoed from deep in her chest at the barrier of guards blocking their way - only for them to get obliterated by another being made of fur. Not as delicious as Randolph, but still good! Min-Ji had diverted to zap another human, and there was a bit of a scramble to secure the elevator. Kailani took the moment to lick some of the blood off her own jaws - then promptly got messy once more when she took notice of a writhing guard, on the floor with his veins a pronounced black. Struggling to breathe, clawing at his own skin. Dying.

Kailani had only the vaguest concept of mercy. When she scooped the man into her jaws and crushed his skull in one swift motion, it was more opportunity than compassion. Even curiosity, since he was obviously a rare human with his strange veins and spicy blood that tingled along her tongue and throat. The most limited edition of human snacks.

The Devourer stepped close to the elevator everyone was jamming into, the thing thankfully large and heavy duty - no doubt due to the size of some inmates. Still, it creaked ominously and shuddered as she laid her unoccupied paw inside it.

Immediately a cacophony of protests met her ears, giving Kailani pause. A moment passed. She tried again - and again, protests and even someone shoving at her carapace. Rude.

Taking a second to gently set the delicious words man down she stepped back, and it was a mere instant almost unseen to the human eye before the alien’s large frame was compacted back to the tiny girl with the ever present grin. It was just a lot bloodier now.

As Kailani stepped into the elevator in this much smaller form, the delicious words man took off - finding his own way? For a moment Kailani chittered in response to his strange tongue, it not quite right in her human throat. But he was a burrower, he could probably get anywhere if he wanted! He was a very capable ally.

Satisfied, Kailani looked around the elevator to take in all those congregated there. Finally, she settled to looking at Ameliya and, in a morbid echo of their interaction that very morning, grinned wider and pointed to her bloodied mouth.

”I’ve had so much food!”

Alfred Gunther/The Frostbite

Never One...

Without the Other

Satisfied, Kailani looked around the elevator to take in all those congregated there. Finally, she settled to looking at Ameliya and, in a morbid echo of their interaction that very morning, grinned wider and pointed to her bloodied mouth.

”I’ve had so much food!”

Frostbite looked at the little girl in disbelief. It hadn't really dawned upon him just how much human flesh that the creature had shoved down its never-ending gullet until near the end of their initial scuffle with the guards in the cafeteria. They had attempted to stop the rampage of the Devourer with a testudo formation of riot shields, only for the creature to swat them aside and eat them up like chicken nuggets in a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet. Why did they even think that would work? Surely they should have... something better? Maybe this was because they were caught in surprise by the sudden escape attempt?

Either way, the creature of ice gazed upon Kailani with that same piercing stare, a look so powerful it might as well go right through someone. Its red eyes blinked, and a low sigh escaped from its icy mouth.

"Perhaps you can find employment in a landfield," the Phoenix muttered in a volume nearly audible only to himself, the usual quiet and sombre voice turning a bit sour at this time. It wasn't because it was irritated or annoyed at the alien. It was more like genuine fear of just how much damage the alien creature could do. It was frankly terrifying, and he shuddered to think about what kind of chaos would ensue if more of its kind rain down on Earth.

"Are you... ever able to get full?" Frostbite asked, sounding concerned. "At this rate, I would think you're a creature that has a literal black hole as a stomach. Could be the only thing that explains you can fit all that... food in such a smaller form. I'm amazed."

More like horrified.

Brock

Hemlock - Red - Represented in Teal, Rueyn - Siri - Represented in Orange, Brock - BCLEGENDS - Represented in Plum

Rue walked through the inky shadows that covered the building and walked into the layer of blackness, Hemlock’s fingers firmly laced in hers. Anyone who was watching them would have seen them just disappear into darkness, fading away with a few blinks, shortly before the lights went out and all was plunged further into chaos.

It isn’t nearly as uncomfortable as Rueyn had implied. Yes, all he could focus on is the crimson nebula of light whom he held hands with. Here it seemed much so. Like they were in the depths of the vacuum of space, and she had grown into a far more expansive blackhole. Though there is a familiarity to it, a disconnect from his own physical body that he had grown accustomed to as Digital Ghost. It felt familiar, as familiar as traveling through a network of circuitry.

Despite this moment of reprieve, he suppose is what he would call it - sighing to himself mentally. As much as he’d like to consider himself as heartless as the rest of them, He wasn’t there at the cafeteria today. And he usually is always there. Spewing nonsense. Well, that’s not fair. A majority of it in reality is just spider facts, yet it is Froth who chose him to speak with. Hemlock didn’t do much talking, then again he never was able to get in a word edgewise when it came to Froth anyway.

“Rue,” he finally calls out, “I need another favor. I apologize that I keep asking for these.”

“Welcome to the realm of shadow,” her voice had a dark and echoing, ringing quality to it that had not been there before. “My ability to even reenter this realm in order to do whatever you and I may need has been restored because of you, stop apologizing. If it makes you feel better, consider it your apology for asking favors of me at the moment.”

She surveyed the shadowy realm around her with glowing eyes.

“Ask away.”

“There is an inmate, who wasn’t at the cafeteria,” Hemlock pauses, “He likely has no idea about the riots, and as much as I am sure he is capable by himself, he hasn’t the faintest idea on how to navigate the facility. And capable doesn’t account for endurance.”

That and well, he’s a bit naive. Perhaps, some of that innocence has rubbed away. The edges began to rub raw, yet he doubted he had the mental endurance for the task as well. Again, as much as he’d like to think he is as heartless as the rest - he doubted that Froth could make it on his own and find the entrance. And unfortunately he had to admit, he’d miss being spewed spider facts.

“Lead the way, then. Direct me.”

Hemlock hesitates. He didn’t bother to look up his cell when he was in the security room. It hadn’t crossed his mind then, “I can navigate the facility, but I don’t know specifically where he is.” He should have thought ahead.

“Goddess above,” Rue muttered a swear in Latin then sighed. “If it would help, I can bring us into the spirit realm. Your ability is EMF based, yes? Souls emit EMF, if you can lock onto him that way, we could navigate it much easier, especially if his soul appears the same colors to you as it does me.”

“Wir sprechen jetzt in anderen sprachen" he responds with a smirk towards her cursing, “Ya draznyu.” Right. Where was he? English. English. Spirit Realm? “I can see spirits, yes, well the EMFs they admit. I used to never mind that’s not important. I know what his signature is like, it’s the color of Froth. It is “purple”, but not really purple, just perceived as purple and then there are little bits of EMFs that pop and fizzle from time to time.” If that made any sense, probably most likely to her.

Rue rolled her eyes at his teasing her in German and began the process of rapidly going intangible and shifting their souls and bodies into the spirit realm, the darkness around them fading away to be replaced by a hazy, muted version of the world around them, everything outside of the spirit realm seeming to move slightly slowly and with a faded trail of movement. To Hemlock, it might feel as if he was stepping from the forest and into a foggy clearing.

“Alright, then, what general direction should I be heading from here?”

The Spirit Realm? In all of his years of study - well this is fantastic. So fantastic that he has completely lost himself to the sounds of the disembodied static voices he could barely make out. The dead murmurs. Flickers of light appeared here and there, “I had been studying spirits, and the spirit realm.” he says excitedly, “I used to investigate ghosts, and equipment in fact.” Right. He’s supposed to be looking for Brock in the facility. He’d love to stay here, study it, record it, but they had an escape to continue escaping. Searching. Scanning. Closing his eyes and attempting to tap into the map of the facility in his head while using the flickering of energy.

“West wing,” he points, “In the middle cell. There are others there. The riot has begun. Guards. Inmates. Most likely.”

“I’ve been around them since I was born,” she replied. “I understand them in a different way than you do, I understand what ties them here long after their bodies have given way. I feel their calls when their physical forms give out, are destroyed. I lead them to their peace if I can. It’s my duty as a Reaper.”

She took his words in and led them in the direction of the west wing, making note of the hallway and each exit. Of the rusty, brownish facility, seemingly constructed out of one giant square shape, and noting that there was only one way in and out of the facility. At least, for those who couldn’t travel the way she could.

She saw bodies of guards and inmates alike strewn on the floor, could feel the many souls that now screamed in anger and fear, tormented by the idea of forever being trapped here in this hellhole of an excuse for a building.

Rue made a note to take as many as she could to where they needed if she could. Perhaps after the breakout, after she was finally home, perhaps she could come back in spirit form to help them. She hated their suffering tugging at her own soul but shook such thoughts from her mind and stopped when she saw him.

Ahead was a tall, massive, man about eight feet tall with bulging muscles currently ragdolling guards and inmates alike as if they were made out of sacks of flour. Rue gave a rumbly demonic purr at the sight of the one who was responsible for all of the carnage, forgetting the agony of the spirits trapped behind, claws itching for a challenge now that those godsforsaken cuffs were off.

Sticking a head out, just like Hemlock described, is a man who pops up. Idiot, the large man notices the purple popping man sticking his head out of his cell. The large man takes his massive paw size hand and grabs the collar of the young man’s shirt, dragging him up.

“Eh heh, gonna snap you like a twig, and the rest of you,” he challenged, pointing to Rueyn, who responded with an excited growl, a wild, manic grin under her mask.

Seee… he had heard the initial noise of people fighting, eventually the noise dying down, and he’d decided to just spend a bit of time in his cell. He had lunch, he wasn’t about to go anywhere. Which was a shame, because he’d wanted to talk to Lock today… apparently, today wasn’t that kind of day. The cell doors opened up, and then he’d heard somebody rampaging out in the hall, and just as it started growing quiet he’d decided to stick his head out and check if the coast was clear. First thing he saw, the real big guy on this cell block.

Second thing, the same guy’s hand lifting him off the ground, which he reacted to initially with a rapid punch to the head! To no effect, because he could hit pretty hard, but not hard enough to take down an actual human tank.

Third thing was Lock, with that one demon lady Ruin or whoever. Rune, Ruin? Now that did put a smile on his face!

“Hey, Lock!” he called out, grinning widely. “Nice to see you! Didn’t think I’d get the chance-”

“Oi! this is no friendly reunion, we ain’t meetin’ up at some damn high scool,” Mammoth interjects.

“Well I mean yeah,” Brock continued, “but like, I wanted to see him today, and then I didn’t get to yet, but now we-”

“Are you his boyfriend or somethin’?” Mammoth interrupts again and barks.

“I’d like to mention that in this current social structure, that may not necessarily be an acceptable comment to make. With that said, I understand the usage is meant to degrade someone. Hmm, right, Brock we’ve apparently come to rescue you it seems,” it takes a lot of effort to project his voice in a hall like this, he’s not the loudest speaker.

“Oh! Yaaay! Er, from him,” he asked, tilting his head over at the big guy, “or in a more general sense, like from the loud fighting stuff that’s happening?”

“Both,” Hemlock has reserved to looking at a spot in the hallway, instead of attempting to look at anyone, yet he awkwardly moves his head towards Rueyn, “Should we interv-
-and she’s already charging ahead. He'll let her do her thing then.

Rue’s instincts were singing with battle-lust as she crouched like a large cat before launching herself at the large man. She closed the distance between them in a single breath, punching him in the stomach with great force and grabbing the wrist that currently held Brock.

Doubling back Mammoth from being punched into the gut, his grip on the young man loosening, feeling her massive grip, tis witch is crazy got ah a bloodlusty look in her eye didn’t she? Tugging his wrist back, not to escape from her grip, but to pull himself slightly back, grounding his heels into the floor, using his stance to spring forward using her strength like a rubber band to push Brock into Rueyn.

Rue caught the young man with her other arm with ease and narrowed her eyes, as the force of doing so knocked her mask from her face, revealing the skeletal bone structure of her lower face, staring from the tip of her nose to the bottom of her jaw, smoky black mist covering the spaces between her teeth as well as the inside of her mouth from view. She growled and tossed Brock over her hip like she used to toss her daughter when they were playing, a move that allowed the smaller being to simply somersault without harm.

Rue grabbed Mammoth’s other wrist and wrenched both of his arms down towards her hips to unbalance him, her knee coming up into his stomach as he fell forward, trying to wind him so she could take him out and neutralize but not necessarily kill him. As far as she knew, he’d mistaken Brock for another threat, and therefore punishing him with death wasn't fair to her. She’d rather kick his ass out cold or injure him badly enough to leave him there.

Being bent forward his eyes widen a crooked grin on his face. Rolling himself over her knee he stands on his hands wrapping his large thighs around her neck yanking her forward to throw her to the ground.

“Aye, likely wasn’t expecting that, me muscles ain’t just for show,” Mammoth gloats, turning his head to the other man down the hall, “Oi. Bonsey. Skeletor?” he notices the man frowns, “Okay. Okay. That ain’t so funny. Get her off of me. I can help ya out.”

Rue laughs when he wraps his thighs around her neck, and simply melts into the shadow realm, avoiding being thrown to the ground, the large man dropping to the floor like a sack of potatoes with a resounding smack of a body on concrete.

“Wut in the bloody fuck! I don’t want to be fuckin’ posessed!” Mammoth shouts in surprise, “I am gettin’ out of here!” He had other plans anyway. Thinking of his next big heist, couldn’t do that if he was going to get possessed. He begins to run down the hall, breaking through the wall into the next level of prison cells. Does he know he’s going to simply be running through the underground?

“Well, that was both unexpected, and bothersome,” Hemlock mentions, “But it sounds like we have a way out.” he gives a dry laugh, “Brock, are you well?”

Rue reappeared, laughing her ass off at the sight of a massive man running away and through an entire wall in fear of being possessed, a power she didn’t even have.

“Holy shit,” she cackled, retrieving her mask from where it had skittered to a stop near the badly mutilated corpse of an inmate, the man’s angry spirit sulking nearby. “Did you hear him? Practically ran for the hills crying for his momma.” She slipped her mask back on after wiping away the blood and grime that had gathered on it before returning to where Brock and Hemlock were, looking over both of them for any potential injuries.

“I did not hurt you when I tossed you out of the way, did I?” she asked, her voice flat but curious. “It was to prevent you from gaining any harm done to you.”

“Well,” Brock began, rolling over and off his front where he’d been chucked like a bag in a car tumbling over itself, “I’ve been kind of figuring out what to do after that, just like waiting until the big guy was gone, and I think I bit my tongue too. I’m fine otherwise though. It’s good to see you, Lock,” he added with a smile. Lock was great, brilliant to chat with.

He takes a second to “look” at Brock. He wouldn’t say Brock is his favorite person in the world, though that comes off cold. He’s merely used to being on his own, small talk and it’s otherwise underused substantial talk were not his usual interest. Most of the time talking to Brock involved Hemlock doing a lot of listening, he preferred it, simply he preferred also not to be talked to. Still, Brock deserved a chance of escape.

“There’s currently an escape plan happening at the moment, you weren’t at the cafeteria to be filled in with the details. I had Rueyn take us here in order to guide you towards the exit,” he shifts to the matter at hand, “It’s good to hear though that you have not become a splatter on the walls.” he attempts a weak smile.

So many people today. So many personalities to juggle. Brock usually had a relatively young mentality and it seemed Rueyn might be a bit over enthusiastic. Not everyone is aware of every ability he had, which is how he preferred it anyway. Likely he could coast through this riot, as the hacking, meek, blind man. For as long as people believed it. Something about being defined as such brought him back to the days of being a runaway teenager, who got a hold of people’s bank accounts being lost and blind and “scared”. They would give him their phones so he could call someone, what he really did was tap into their phones to take their money. Countless of accounts that he would take small sums of money from. He could continually dip into. Unless they noticed something and closed their accounts. Though easy to trace them, when he had their name and addresses. He used to have them stored on a file. Not the time to have introspection of the past, however.

If people wanted to see him as small. And fragile. He’d let them for now. It worked on the guards for so long. It’s the only reason he’s out here and not in that Faraday Cage. They thought he was incapable. They thought he was one of the “good prisoners”. So they let him get away with things they shouldn’t have, their facility, partially his now because of their miscalculation.

“Oh, awesome, an escape plan. And yeah, it’s good not to be a splatter!” Brock agreed, cracking his knuckles. “I don’t want to end up with my insides turned to goo… I mean, I know I’ve said this to you before Lock, but not to Miss Ruin- Rune? Whichever, so fun fact, did you know that the initial bite a spider does on prey isn’t generally what turns their insides to mush?” He sat up so he could explain better, his arms waving around a bit as he did. “See, when they want to feed, they inject digestive enzymes into the dead creature, and those are what fully dissolve their guts and stuff so that the spider can suck them up and toss the husk away. I don’t need to do that, obviously, because uh, I have my stomach that works fine, and I don’t want to puke on my food and suck that up either. We have saliva with enzymes in it also. Are you spitting on all of your food before putting it in your mouth? I didn’t think so.” He folded his arms, nodding to himself. It was weird, he’d never thought about it until that one doctor guy brought it up years ago.

“Speaking of, that’s some crazy jaw stuff you have there, Rune,” he pointed out, tilting his head curiously. “How’d that happen? Did they melt part of your face when they captured you? Was it an acid attack? Oh, I hope not, that’d be painful… or is it just like how your face is?”

“Good to know you are alright for the most part,” Rue rumbled in reply. “I knew they didn’t inject their prey with it immediately but I didn’t know the rest, to be honest.”

“The name is Rueyn,” she rumbled, a growl of annoyance in the undertones of her voice at Brock’s misnaming of her. “As in, ‘Don’t touch my mask or I’ll ruin your chances of being able to hold a spoon by yourself when I break your fingers.”

She wasn’t trying to be mean just to be mean, but she was edgy, ready to get the fuck out of the hellhole she had endured for the last two decades and two years and had no patience for stupid shit at the moment. She quirked a pierced red eyebrow at Brock when he mentioned some “crazy jaw stuff” going on with her face, asking if she had been disfigured somehow or if it was just her face.

He’s fucking lucky he didn’t run away screaming in horror, unlike the rest of these fuckers. He lives only because I don’t want to waste time, and also because I owe Lock for freeing my powers.

“No. I’m not disfigured, not in the way you mean,” she couldn’t help the small growl in her reply, forever reminded that she was a monster to everyone, even other people who would be considered monsters as well. “I was born with my lower face exposed like this, it’s a common feature for my race. You’re one of the very few who hasn’t ran away screaming in terror upon seeing it, though, so I’ll let the unintended rudeness slide.”

She rumbled again, grouchy and wanting to get on with the escape that they were currently in the midst of.

“We can discuss the many ways my body and limbs have been disfigured over my extensively long life, later,” the perpetual raspy and growl voice that had earned her the fear of many an inmate and guard alike was back for the moment, the Reaper was done playing around.

“Let’s get the fuck out of here before I get pissy and start ripping limbs from bodies indiscriminately.”

“Oh- shit, I’m sorry,” he immediately apologized, stiffening up slightly. “I wasn’t meaning to insult you. I just was looking at the jaw, because it was cool, right? And like, because with spiders, they have the fangs, right? The reason for that is that most insects and arthropods don’t have endoskeletons- spiders do, they’re just collagen and some hard plates though, no bones- but they have exoskeletons, and those are made of chitin. So, they’re difficult to break through at that size,” he explained, his arms no longer stiff as they moved around in explanation - though wherever they were going, he’d make sure to follow on from them accordingly as he spoke. “But, because of how focusing pressure at a very small point works, it’s actually a lot easier to pierce through chitin, and so you get a very large number of insects and arachnids with piercing-

“Oh! I forgot to thank you for coming to grab me from out of here!” he realized with a shock. Crap, he did need to do that! “It’s rude of me not to say thanks, so thanks Rueyn for getting the big guy off of me, and I assume it was Hemlock who said to come get me, so thank you Hemlock for doing that- You uh, I mean I hope it’s not too much bother, coming to get me that is. I know it winds up being a bit of a detour, since… I don’t even know what’s actually going on. Could you explain, Lock? Because, because, I assume there’s a riot or something happening, but I don’t actually know what the deal is, I’ve just been hiding out in my cell until you showed up.”

Truth is that he’s drowned them both out. Attempting to navigate with the information that he has received from the security camera. It would be easier to navigate with a full scope of the place though, main control room? It’s dawned on him that Brock has asked him a question. Should he bother to answer? The answer seems relatively obvious to him.

“We’re escaping, follow or don’t Brock,” Lock tells them both, though the statement is for Rueyn just as much as it’s for Brock.

Starting to lead by walking forward navigating the prison is more like a sense for him. He’s not really seeing the facility. Only sensing the layout. The one plugged into his mind.

Perhaps that came off too harsh, “I am heading to the main control room. To seize the entire facility, not just the security system. I’ll have full control of the lights, the generators, the cells, and so on and so forth. This is child’s play, I have done it before, and their system is not my system, so it’s nowhere nearly as secure. I have seen multiple points of structural weakness within their network.”

He smirks. You’ve done this to yourselves. Keeping them locked up like flightless birds. He had a surprise for them.

Wow. So many people. He knows that guy. And that guy too.

Op. They are dead now.

Silly guards.

“Hey kid,”

Staring at a man in a uniform just like him. Simone points to himself, “Me?”

“I didn’t know there were any more kids here,” he barks at him.

“I didn’t know either,”

“What?”

“What, what?” Simone asks.

“Listen ki-

-Bang. He’s dead now. He didn’t feel like talking with him anyway. Oh. He was an inmate, wasn’t he? Was he supposed to rescue him? Staring at the man who has gone limp, oh wow he shot him in the head! Good shot. Very accurate. Thank you gun for telling me how to do that.

“Sorry,” he whispers, “I'm supposed to rescue you. I forgot. But now you won’t die later. So I saved you in a different way.”

Who else can he rescue?

Skipping. Humming to himself;

“La
La
La
Hehe,”

Bang.

And he rescued that guard.

Bang.

And he rescued that person in the same clothes as him.

Bang.

And he rescued that guard too.

Tik. Tik. Oh. No more bullets. Well that’s no fun. He just needs more from a guard. There are plenty of those lying around everywhere. Fumbling with the utility belt of the guard, he finds a magazine. Will they be able to escape he wonders. He doesn’t know who started the riot. But hopefully they are big and strong too. Jumping up. Now that he has magazines. Moving along.

To leave there is the elevator. But he hasn’t finished rescuing people on this floor. He’s a hero now.

Spinning.

Piroting.

Then skipping ahead. Not knowing where he was going. But he was going to go through the elevator when he knew the floor was clear.

Bang.

Teehee. Silly guard.

Stopping. Woah. What’s this? He’s never explored this side of the wing. What’s down here? Maybe there’s someone he needs to help!

Giggling. Heading down the hallway.

It’s quieter here. There’s no one around. Is this like the Wizard of Oz?

There is no yellow brick road. In fact there are no cheery songs either. Till he stops at a big door. It looks different than his cell door. This one is super big. Super spooky.

“Knock knock,” Simone says while knocking on the door, “I am here to rescue you. Unless I don’t like you.”

When no one answers. Mmm. This door looks heavy. It is super big too. Maybe there is a trick to open it.

Have to make sure no one is inside.

How does he open it?

From the big round things maybe. Powers are back online. Sooo. Maybe. He doesn't have anything sharp. Well his teeth. Hehe.

Biting into his skin with his pointy teeth.

Gush! Licking his wrist. Mmmm. Oh where was he. Tee. Hee.

"Open Sesame!" manipulating his blood around the round deadbolts around the door, rusting them away.

There is someone inside the cell. A little boy.

“Another me” Simon giddily giggles running and hugging the little boy, then quickly licks his cheek “You’re so small.”

“Don’t worry big brother has you now, I’ve rescued everybody else,” he states to reassure his brother, “Just hold my hand, And we will get out of here together.” he pats his head, “Good boy.”

Rueyn aka The Reaper

Kanata aka The Storm

@ZephyrHope

Rue removed her arms from the black jumpsuit that went over her white tee shirt, and ripped the torso down the middle, before ripping off one of the sleeves and tying the remaining bits of fabric together at her hips, using the ripped off sleeve to wipe most of the blood off of her face. She crumpled it and threw it down on Hollins’s body, staring down the angry woman’s spirit as she did so, and the spirit seemed to shrink away in remembered fear and trauma from how brutally Rueyn had killed her. Rue growled in pleasure and turned to Hemlock.

“Now that you seem to have things under control, here, I am going to go find my mother fucking weapon. No fucking way am I leaving this bitch without it.”

She replaced her mask, saluted Brock, and stepped into a shadow to disappear from ear and eyeshot to begin tracking her weapon down, leaving nothing in her wake aside from the dead bodies and gore scattered across the hallway and inside the control room, but she had kept the gore to a minimum in there, knowing machinery didn’t function as well with human blood in it.

Rue closed her eyes and honed in on the energy that her scythe emitted, tracking it to where it was, and opened her eyes. Which then narrowed upon seeing an unfamiliar man holding it.

“What are you doing with that?” She growled as she melted out of the shadows on top of what appeared to be an elevator.

An elevator from the cafeteria? Interesting.

Sensing himself in danger, Kanata jumped to the roof of the elevator, his back against the wall and his hand on his blade while watching a figure manifest from the shadows. There was malice from the demoness so strong he could feel it on every inch of his body, what’s more was that he could feel her power, stronger than most he had encountered in his lifetime.

“What exactly are you referring to as 'that?'” he spoke in a more serious tone than before. “If you’re referring to the weapon on my back it belongs to me.” His eyes narrowed, watching and waiting for any movement while circling the air around him so whenever she entered his range he would know instantaneously.

“The scythe,” she narrowed her eyes as he moved away from her, putting distance between them. “It’s mine. It was given to me long ago by someone important. I suggest you give it to me before I take it.”

Kanata could not help but think of the fact that the only one who should have had this weapon was dead and he had watched her die. His thoughts raced before looking at her, taking his hand off his blade and throwing it down before replying, “Then you are gonna have to take it from me."

“Have it your way, then,” she snarled, crouching into an assassin pose that she’d been taught at a young age before launching herself at him with inhuman speed, slashing at his knees with her bone-colored nails that had now lengthened into 5” claws. “Whether I get it from you dead or alive makes no difference to me.”

Kanata began by throwing his weapon down to his side and stretching his neck. This was gonna be a fight he hadn't had in a long time. Taking a quick glance at the infuriated demon in front of him, he quickly grabs the scythe and throws it up into the air, avoiding the elevator wire and attempting to lure in the threat in front of him with what she wanted.

Rueyn watched with narrowed eyes as her beloved scythe was thrown into the air, and, unable to contain her desire to have it back within her grasp, she charged ahead right into his trap knowing full well it what it was, but she didn’t care.

Whatever this being with ancient spiritual energy is capable of, she thought to herself, I can handle it with ease.

However, that seemed to be far from the truth. The man appeared in front of her at a speed she couldn’t keep track of, grabbing for ehr scythe as the man's arm stretched outwards for a strike towards her gut, his fist being caught with the middle of the scythe’s blade instead.

The air reverberated as Kanata's right fist made contact with the scythe as he used the air around him to spin his body clockwise into a kick. Rue matched his second blow on instinct, spinning the scythe with a fluid circular motion, the blade end opposite to Kanata's body while the tail end of the scythe met his ankle. However, he used the airflow rushing outwards from his foot, pushing her back to the ground but Rue caught herself with her scythe, the sharp back end being used to pierce the wall and slow her descent before setting her feet back on the ground and looking up at the now empty space where Kanata once was.

Grrr.

She decided to launch herself at him again, but Kanata let his torso fall forward as the air gathered around his feet and then exploded, propelling him forward until he flipped using the air around him to stop instantly in front of her and taking a jab at her stomach. The blow connected, pushing her back against the wall with a breath that whooshed out of her lungs with an audible noise. Jumping back to where he laid his katana and putting his foot under his hilt, he flipped it into the air before spinning into ai stance faster than Rueyn could dodge from the blow that just landed, swinging his blade.

In an instant, it cut into the flesh on her side but not slicing all the way through. Kanata looked at Rue's face and noticed she was smiling.

"Finally got you, little fly," she smiled savagely, grabbing his hand before swinging down the scythe that had still been caught in the wall directly above him, however, electricity started to course through her body from the katana still stuck in her flesh, causing her attack to slow and her grip loosen as Kanata slipped out of her grip.

Godsdammit.

Rue gritted her teeth, charging forward with her shoulder and knocking him back, before ripping the blade out of her side while the electricity still ran through her body before dropping it to the ground, her movements jerky and staggered but still fast and potentially lethal.

Kanata rushed forward, catching the blade, and slashed the top of her side of her left wrist, forcing her grip to loosen on the scythe before kicking out his leg against the now cut arm which forced her to drop the weapon as he brought his blade up to her throat.

“Okay, who the fuck are you?”

Blunt as ever, and not in the mindset to dice her words, especially considering the pain coursing through her body and the sharp thing at her scarred neck, one that had experienced an attempted beheading already. Even if those words might be what got her beheaded anyways.

Kanata stood there staring at the demoness, his eyes glowing the same blue hue from years prior when he first met the same demon child, and, realizing who she was, he took his blade down from her throat.
"It's been a long time Musume." Bringing himself down face to face so she can get a better look at him, he could see how much she had grown into a fine woman.

Rue didn’t dare breathe or blink, she could only stare as she was finally able to actually make out the male’s features and though they were different slightly, it was still the man she remembered, he still carried himself the same way.

“O-ot-Otōsan?” her raspy voice wavered, ground like gravel with the force of her emotions as she strangled the urge to cry, not daring to even chance to look weak in front of these other inmates that she knew were likely watching the whole time. The pain from her wounds she could ignore, but the full force of being reunited with her long-lost mentor and father figure was overwhelming, even for someone as strong as she was.

“I don’t understand how you are here, I… I have so many questions.”

And she did, like why he’d left her behind, why didn’t he come back for her, where had he been and a few more, but they could wait until they got the hell outta there.

"Well…" pausing for a second to think, he wasn't sure what to say, it being such a long time since he last saw her that he struggled for the right words. "I, too, have a lot of questions for you." He got next to her and then propped her arm onto his shoulder as he lifted her up and walked her to the elevator hatch.

"We can discuss this when we're inside the elevator while you're recuperating," he decided to say, finally.

“I look forward to it,” Rueyn got over her shock and smiled up at him, the shadows that covered the insides of her mouth from view somehow conveying her delight, her cheeks crinkling at the corners as he helped her up. She gave a small groan as her spinal column shifted back into place with a sickening crunch noise as her body began to heal the damage that had been done when she hit the elevator shaft wall, as well as the completely severed tendon in her left wrist and slice in her side that went to her bones.

“How I missed you,” she replied, before following his gaze to the ones below as she leaned down to grab her scythe with her good hand. “Aye, Otōsan, that sounds like a good idea. Let’s get the fuck outta this godsdamned hellhole.”

“Watch your mouth, young lady,” he says before contemplating their time apart and sighing. “This will be hard to get used to.”

“Shit, my bad,” Rue laughed as she spoke, knowing exactly what she said. “I’ll try to tone it down out of respect for you, Otōsan, but I can’t promise I’ll be able to stop completely.”

Abigail “Atom Bomb” Zebrowski

Abby watched as the others joined her inside of the elevator, noticing Min-Ji, Charon, and Bonehead running in the other direction. She assumed they had some other plan to escape this hell hole. Holding the door open for the others, watching them decimate the guards like they were bowling pins. A small part of her was scared of what would happen to her if they got on their bad side. The heavily armed guards were doing a pitiful job of detaining them. One would have to feel bad for being up against power and dangerous supervillains. As the others joined her into the elevator, clicking the button of the floor where Mr. Q and inmate 13 were located. The elevator jostled and shook violently, slowly rising to the appropriate floor. Sitting down in the corner of the elevator, her face was buried in between her legs. Her whole body was shaking, she was still rattled by killing and maiming those guards. Rocking back and forth while the elevator was ascending, lifted her face from her legs to see her best friend standing between Rue and Katana. “Looks like you really screwed the pooch on this one.” She said with a disappointed look on her face. “You're not really here, you are dead. Leave me alone.” Her friend turned her head in Abby’s direction, Abby let out a gasp noticing half of her friend’s face was severely decaying. “I would love to Ab, but we know that ain’t gonna happen.” Abby put her head back between her legs, crying softly which was thankfully covered by the sound of the elevator.

As the elevator doors opened, Abby slowly stood up quietly wiping some tears from his cheeks. Noticing that her best friend’s ghost had disappeared, Something she was thankful for. “Keep your eyes peeled guys, there might be more guards on the way.” She motioned for the others to take point, seeing as they were more capable of fighting than herself. But as they walked down the hallway towards the cells, Abby noticed the piles of dead guards. “What the hell happened here?” The whole place was covered ceiling to floor with blood, one had to wonder what kind of powerful being could get through the guard so easily. Her eyes scanned the area for any more guards that could be arriving at any moment. Walking towards Inmate 13’s cell, noticing that it was wide open. A small sigh of relief, since she wouldn't have to worry about opening it. Noticing right away two young boys standing close to each other, one of them was covered in blood. So Abby assumed that was the person that killed all the guards. This image of a bloodied boy disturbed her greatly. The other boy looked about the same age perhaps a little younger, but there was something disingenuous about him. “You inmate 13? Our “friend” sent us to grab you, said you could help us escape.” Personally, she was not sure how he could help, but Mr.Q had mentioned he would be instrumental in her plan. And she had no choice but to trust Mr.Q’s plans. “I’m gonna look for the other inmate, you guys secure the area. And make sure that we got a clear path to the exit.

Jogging down the hallway, stopping in front of the large steels doors. Adorn with magical runes, and what looked like spells. “How am I gonna through this.” Rubbing his chin, thinking of methods to get through the door. Her hand reached out to touch the door, only to be given a heavy shock. Falling on the ground holding her hand. Slowly getting back onto her feet, she looked over towards the group opening her mouth to start speaking. But she was interrupted by the voice from before, It was not Q’s but the one that told her to hurry to the elevator. “Aperite, laqueum dimittite per umbras.” Holding her hand out with her eyes closed. The runes and other spells soon disappeared. Opening the door to Q’s cell. Inside she was hit by the rancid smell of corpses and sulphur. Mr.Q was chained to the wall, with more runes and spells keeping him from escaping. The young woman wondered if the same spell would work on these particular runes. “Mind helping me out here?” She told the voice from before, hearing the voice speak the magical incantations again freeing Q’s bonds. “Thank you, master. I knew you would not forget about me.” Mr. Q smiled his yellow teeth almost shinning in the darkness. His attention turned towards Abby, “I am glad you have arrived my dear, I believe it is time for you and me to leave this infernal place.” Rubbing his wrists while floating towards Abby. “Just the two of us? No way I’m leaving the others behind. Either you take all of us with you, or we’re gonna get out of here without your help.

BOSS BATTLE TIME!!!!

As all of them were occupied talking or discussing a plan on how to escape, Standing at the opposite side of the hallway was Dr.Novis. All alone with a grimace on his face. “If you will not quietly go back to your cells, and plan on escaping. Then I will have to put you down.” Removing his coat exposed a muscular and heavily scared body. His left arm transformed into a large black blade, while spikes came out of the knuckles of his other hand. Abby and Mr.Q quickly came out of the cell, “If you don’t help us beat him, then you can escape on your own ” This made Q grumble before nodding his head. Novis was rushing towards the group, shooting some sort of laser beam out of his eyes. Luckily it was stopped by Mr.Q using his magic to manifest a wall.

Mentioning: @Blazion @SrslyAnArtist

The banter was quickly ended as the tank of creature interrupted them by trying to fit herself into the elevator. As the whole elevator shuddered under the weight of such a large beast, Ameliya instantly went to grab the wall of the elevator.

Holding on to the metal wall, that started to score and melt under her touch, Ameliya stared up at the giant creature once again trying its luck with its weight in the elevator. As the whole elevator dangerously shook again, Ameliya’s hands clenched into the metal as she shouted at Kailani, “Oh, for fucks sake! Get in here in a smaller form!”

Watching the being finally back out of the elevator, Ameliya found herself relieved when she saw that they finally did turn back into their human form. Eyes studying the small girl now, it looked as if her hunch about who had been the ever-hungry alien had been correct. Guess it was true about never judging a book by its cover.

Looking down at the smaller woman who stood next to exclaiming that she had so much food, while covered in what Ameliya knew all too well was blood from both guards and inmates alike, well she couldn’t help but chuckle. She should probably be worried, but honestly, the girl was amusing and as long as she didn’t try to take a chunk out of her she was more than happy to be around her.

The elevator once again started to dance on its wire and Ameliya swore before looking around to see what else had disrupted their plan. Looking up, she finally found the source of the chaos as both the new guy and Rue were dueling it out just above their heads.

Fuck, it would have just been so much easier if she had known where the stairs were. Edging towards the exit of the elevator, Ameliya’s eyes were following the fast movements above her as she tried to once again get on solid ground. Why in the hell were these two fighting anyway?! This was not the time for stupid shows of strengths or any petty fights. They could do that when they got out of here.

As her feet found themselves back on solid ground, Ameliya let out a big breath she didn’t realize she had been holding in. Looking from the floor, back to the fight above. She was just in time to see Kanata force Rue drop her weapon and bring a blade to her throat.

Rue … lost?

The whole idea felt so completely off and wrong after all the time she had known the woman. She had always thought that the demon had been one of the strongest in the asylum, one of the people you really didn’t want to cross. Though, there was Hauta with the upper hand. As she saw the man go face to face with the reaper, Ameliya reflexively gulped, no longer knowing if she was feeling more concerned for Rue or more fascinated by the man holding a blade to her throat.

After the fight with rue and reuniting with his lost daughter figure he decided to help escort her back into the cart realizing that he might have gone a bit overboard even though he was holding back the amount of damage may actively hinder their plans for escape though he'd deal with what may come. Dropping down back into the elevator he came face to face with Ameilya, "Hey Red, miss me? I didn't die now we can go on that date together" Putting Rue against the wall, he stretched his back before walking off the elevator to talk pointing at her trying to act cool before tripping over the gap between the elevator that formed after all the commotion. Falling forward onto Ameliya catching himself with his arms on top of her. "Well, it seems that the universe wants us together don't ya think" giving a shit-eating grin trying to play off his clumsiness.

It looked like the fight was over, and both people were no longer at each other's throats. A win, in Ameliya’s books, as she would rather not have her only known way out suddenly dropped into the darkness. Just about to pick up her hastily dropped gun bag, Ameliya looked up to find the swordsman once again repeating the part about a date. She rolled her eyes at him, she didn’t care how good he was with that blade, she was not going to even dignify that question with a response.

Picking up her bag, she went to head back towards the elevator and instead came face to face with Kanata as he fell towards her. Her natural reaction was to step backward but was met with the cold wall. Now suddenly too close to this constant flirt, Ameliya burned hotter as she glared back at him and said, “We are not out yet.” Pushing him out of the way, singeing him slightly during the process, she headed back into the elevator.

"Hahaha" Kanata laughed after being pushed on his backside and looking at her and responding "So I assume that means we're good to go for the date" getting up and patting himself down. Walking behind her like a love-struck puppy he turned and walked backward "Gotta admit it though I was pretty badass up there knowing my skill with a blade imagine me with my other sword in bed" whispering in a low voice. He wanted her to crack a laugh through her tough exterior he planned to crack even if it took a long time. Something was making him drawn to her and she was too beautiful, a smile better fit her face than a sneer.

Ameliya had no idea why he kept on insisting on the idea of a date. They were in a middle of a battlefield and there were was no definitive answer if they were even going to be able to get out of here. Hearing his remark about ‘blade’, Ameliya exhaled a small laugh. This guy was fucking ridiculous, he did not seem to comprehend the situation they were in at the moment.

Kneeling down, she started to open up the guitar-shaped case and revealed not only her sniper rifle with multiple additions but also a pair of handguns. Looking back at the group she asked, “Who needs a weapon?”

The elevator door finally closed, and with a small shake, the elevator started its ascent up to their freedom.

Julia Kray

@Blazion@Eviledd1984@Perse

Julia had not been one of the protesting voices when Kai had tried to get into the elevator. She hadn't been paying any attention to that. Even in the chaos of the situation, she felt safe being in a metal box full of people in the same situation as her, with the same goal as her. For all the differences, for how she wasn't a part of this world, there was still a kinship. She felt safe to reflect on her actions. Taking a life had been far too easy. She acted on impulse, without thinking. Just like last time. Just like the police. There was still shock, and guilt, and dread. But she wasn't upset. She didn't want to cry this time. She didn't feel numb either. Her adrenaline was still in high gear, her body still on alert.

Kai's familiar voice brought her back. She'd eaten a lot. No kidding. If it had been anybody else but Kai who turned out to be the monster that was ripping guards to pieces back there, she'd still be scared of them. She looked back out to the hallway as the doors started to close and saw that the guard she had touched was missing. It immediately clicked, and her head snapped back to Kai, alarm and panic in Julia's eyes.

"Kai! You ate the guard I killed?! Are you okay? Is there anything wrong?!"

After Kai's assertions that she was fine, Julia let herself relax a little, and as the elevator started to move, she heard sobbing. She followed it, making her way to Abby. She was slumped on the floor, a mirror of Julia herself the first time she'd ever broken down. Also, Abby appeared to be talking to someone. Whether it was a symptom of mental illness, communication with a ghost, or both, it ultimately made no actual difference to Julia. She looked down at Abby with, not quite pity, but an expression that merely communicated 'First time, huh?'

The elevator finally stopped, and the doors opened to reveal more blood and more dead guards. So, the power outage had done more than free everyone in the cafeteria. Good. Julia caught herself. Countless guards were dead in front of her eyes, part of it her fault for being a part of the plan and taking Kai's muzzle off, and the first thought in her head had been 'good'. That was messed up.

Abby was freeing somebody else. Julia turned her attention to the two seemingly children. One she recognized as the Sweet Poison Killer. It was so strange seeing what had always felt more like a myth, or a campfire horror story than truth. Here he was, in the flesh, looking not a day older than the old photos. But the other boy was covered in blood, and had such an unhinged look in his eye, that a shiver went down Julia's spine. Here she was, looking at two children, and the real Sweet Poison Killer wasn't the scarier of the two. This was a Supervillain prison, all right.

That's when she saw him. A heavily scared man, with a blade for an arm, ordering them back to their cells. This wasn't an escaped villain. Or a Hero. They had powers, and were also staff here. Julia had seen her other prisoners fight, and thought that they'd all be more than a match for this guy. But she wasn't. Even when the redhead offered out handguns, Julia turned to her.

"If all of us can't kill this person, I don't think giving me a gun is going to help. But..." Julia looked down, and finally removed her other glove, tossing it to the floor. She turned her attention back to Novis. Even if he had some sort of healing factor, surely she'd be able to put a strain on it, if she could just safely get close enough to grab him, hold on, and live.

Körbl Meier

Following Abby close as they finally left the elevator, Körbl glanced around for any threats. Seeing how others were armed and he still having only a sharp piece of metal, the electric prod and maybe one small knife procured from the guards. It was...annoying.

Still, he chose this life and can't complain about it. The knife comforted him greatly already.

During this moment, they're intervened by Dr.Novis and Körbl clicked his tongue. It looks like one of the heavy duties for this asylum finally made it presence.

But seeing that long sword coming out of the arm, that got Körbl an idea though it was a long shot. After all, it looked fleshy and metallic so it could be some weird symbiosis or moldable flesh.

With no other words left, Körbl dashed forward, tossing the metal electric prod towards Novis and pumped his legs as hard as he can. All but appearing as a blur as he crouched low. The prod acting like a brief distraction before Körbl flicked the knife in his hand and aimed low. Sliding downwards before jumping like a tiger to the sides, the knife flashing upwards with his momentum and Körbl targeted the shoulder joints. Confident that it would cut through it like butter unless Novis body transformation changed the density in a flash.
