UPDATE: The issue has been fixed. Feel free to disable your adblockers to support the Guild. TL;DR it was caused by Google's overzealous adsense systems, which shouldn't even be configured to do what they did. You're welcome to boycott Google in protest ;)

We're aware of an issue with ads on the site getting duplicated to annoying locations and are still triaging the cause. This is probably an issue caused by Google, because we haven't changed the Guild-side advertisement code.

If necessary, install an adblocker until this issue is resolved.


To add on this as I'm talking to Legend about it: It is both an issue on mobile and desktop. If you're on desktop, uBlock Origin will remove all the ads for you. On mobile, I'm currently at a loss. I use Opera GX for my phone browser, and the ads get through their built-in ad block feature.

It only works if you use a browser other than Chrome. Apparently as of 2019 to now there are no current ad blockers for Android when it comes to Chrome.

Google primarily makes its money off of add revenue and invading your privacy. Is anyone surprised Google Chrome has workarounds that lets Google Adsense bypass your ad blockers?

Legend said not to get him started, so I'll leave it at that.
