The length of a two-handed longsword, single-edged with only a small crossguard, it boasts a single edge. When held, the handle seems to adjust to the wearer's grasp, seeping into the crevices of fingers to offer a better grip. The sheath of #520 is often secured on the wielder's back, with the blade slipping sideways from the sheathe rather being drawn out of it. A bit of an oddity, but perhaps it was simply for show.
What's definitely for show, of course, is that this iteration of #520 is painted jet-black with a mirror polish. Once reinforced by Refrain's Anomaly, the AB Sword gains a prismatic sheen, like ice dust in morning light. It's not nearly as splendid as LED RGB lighting of course, but on occasion, a subtler touch is more appropriate. [Attributes] The Twenty-Faced is a shapeshifting weapon, a marriage of human technology and its wielders' Anomaly. Rather than existing as a single conjoined part, the Twenty-Faced is built in the way that a puzzle toy would be, with parts and pieces able to detach and reform in the midst of combat via ingenious engineering, before its form is solidified with the application of Anomaly. Flames reforged. Ice constrained. Polarity locked. In the crucible of combat, #520 could become a short sword, a battle axe, a jousting lance, a bladed whip, or even just a regular longsword, confounding Aberrations with its manifold forms. In such transformations, the sheath of the Sword itself serves as extra material when necessary.
Though its greatest wielders could freely manipulate the AB Sword's form, and though it possesses 20 standard forms, its current wielder, Refrain, utilizes three forms beyond the default longsword form: glaive, scimitar, and rope dart.

Those who possess this Anomaly can animate their frozen constructs, psychically commandeering their creations to fight for humankind. The most potent of them can raise armies to stalemate the tide of Aberrations, risking no allies nor military hardware in the process, while artillery bombards the both construct and Aberration with impunity. Others call forth gargantuan guardians, moving bulwarks to reinforce defenses, ice melting and then reforming as directed energy weapons expend themselves against glacial armor.
Refrain's Anomaly is quaint, in perspective. His creations are smaller, rarely exceeding one ton in mass, and are fragile in comparison, a consequence of bloodline impurities. To make up for, or perhaps because of, this deficiency, his constructs have the quality of absorbing heat from their surroundings to empower themselves with. Flowers drain warmth and scatter their petals an explosion of ice and fire. Birds fly with ever greater speed, propelled by jets so their wings could become as blades. Wolves feast upon the heat, their forms growing greater with each meal. And his constructs forms are protean as well, shifting shapes easily, eagerly, at his command.
In the heat of battle, Refrain's constructs could match, perhaps even exceed, that of a purer-bred Constellation. [Limitation] The problem, of course, is that Refrain is paradoxically one of the Kholomica lineage that performs worse in a cold environment. The answer, perhaps, would be to 'incubate' his constructs upon a Pilot's mech, replacing their cooling system with the benediction of an Anomaly, but his constructs have fixed forms, even if they can freely shift between those forms. They cannot stay long upon a mech while engaged in high-speed battle, their brittle forms knocked off by G-forces that their roots, claws, and talons cannot withstand.
Without heat to consume, Refrain's constructs are thus sluggish and brittle. Flowers do not bloom, birds cannot fly, and wolves are starved, leading to creations that are only good for a momentary distraction. The size limitation of his Anomaly become a problem in and of itself: you can still bury Aberrations with snow if you had enough quantity, but with just one ton? That would delay a Bishop for a half-second, at best.
[Surface-level Impression] Zecil is not just a Constellation, but an idol. He puts his best foot forward, the picture-perfect facsimile of a gallant hero for Humanity, his multi-faceted AB Sword shining in the light of daybreak. He smiles beautifully, and his glares are at once heroic and arousing. He is princely in conduct with civilians, a stout-hearted companion to his comrades. For those who desire genuine connection, Zecil is too artificial, too fake to ever love, as if his movements are calculated to maximize the affection of an audience light years away. For those who seek only a dream, a fantasy, however? He fulfills it to the tee, possessing the elegance of nobility to such an extent that even in the midst of battle, it appears as if he is perpetually aware of the camera, showing only his good side within a quagmire of ash and human viscera.
There is occasion where he zones out, his expressions blanking over. But those moments don't last for long.

He debuted as a member of PZ-0's third generation of talents, before breaking out as a solo talent during his second year as a Proto-Class Constellation. A princely individual with a sadistic side, his distinguished vocals have landed him on a multitude of Stellar System Top 50s over the years."
That is what his article reads on the wiki, and that is all there is to him, for as a Constellation and as a human being, there's nothing about Zecil that's particular.
Those of the Zerresian bloodline were a branch diverging from the glacial might of the Northern Sect, the animation of the constructs at odds with the Absolute Zero of the main family, and within that, Zecil himself was a product of a short-lived love, rather than a union meant to birth a warrior. Muddied blood, if his half-siblings spoke the truth, ended with an Anomaly that was just potent enough, a physique that was just capable enough, for Zecil to be drafted as a Constellation.
Poor bastard, really. Amongst prodigies, there remained tiers still, and Zecil was undeniably near the bottom. His ice constructs were so piss-poor that they needed external sources of energy to move, and his physical tests came out as average at best. His intelligence wasn't stand-out either, basically about what one would expect out of an eight year old child, except with perhaps a higher tolerance for stress and an uncommon degree of emotional maturity for his age. The Zerresian patriarch had shrugged on that day, then turned his attention on a more promising heir. Zecil himself was too young to understand, but doing what adults told him to do came naturally, so he left his home and was brought out beyond the stars.
Some trainees were brought up to be warriors, their physical capabilities pushed to break through limit after limit. Other trainees honed their supernatural gifts, bending and breaking reality until their surroundings hardly resembled what once was. Most followed a standard track of lessons, with the understanding that even if they did not reach the bare minimum of Stardust-class, they would still become fine soldiers, pilots, officers. But there wasn't just a need for great warriors or career soldiers. There was also a need for propagandists, idols that could be propped up for the masses to admire, for the ignorant populations of the Core Planets and the Sol System to reassure themselves with. Capable enough to perform superhuman deeds on camera, incapable enough that they can afford to split their time between combat operations and idol activities. And Zecil, obedient but with low potential as a proper Constellation, yet still possessing the wintry allure of the Northern Sect's youths?
His mentor shook hands with his manager, and his path deviated once more.
He debuted at 13, with four other attractive, but potential-less trainees. They established themselves as a group of childhood friends, 'secretly' filming the training activities and daily lives of humanity's future Constellations. They performed cover songs with artificially-bloated engagement to get the ball rolling, then gradually transitioned into original songs that they 'personally' wrote. Two years later, they 'officially' signed with 0048 Productions, an entertainment powerhouse headquartered in Lishenna-48, balancing out their Day-In-The-Life-Of content with an increasing number of virtual and in-person collaborations with other talents and even some media-savvy soldiers. Puberty sharpened their features (as did corrective-gene therapy and plastic surgery), and their personas changed as well, gradually shifting away from a group of mischievous kids training to be the best to simply being a knightly order that was, in fact, the best of the best.
Though they had kept up with training throughout all this, they were still the bottom-of-the-barrel. But Zecil could bear the ridicule of his betters. They had their place and he had his. In the end, they both protected the innocents, the civilians. Wasn't that all that mattered?
Nadine thought that he was coping. Callan was happy to collect the extra paycheck and send it home. Zahir channeled his own frustration into his solos. Hana thought that online harassment was worse, because it was easier to walk away from people than it was from his phone.
Those were nice years. Busy years, for certain, but nevertheless enjoyable. You studied to pass tests, and practiced to perform. You uploaded videos and got engagement in response, then participated in shoots to serve as merchandise. Zecil had the sense that he may never even make it to Main-class, but he was fine where he was.
Predictably, graduation was the prelude to disaster.

At 20 years old, after surviving his first encounter with a Bishop, Zecil was brought to a virtual board room. He had expected the disbandment of the group. Three others were dead, and the cost of a complete recovery of the fourth wasn't worth the benefits. Instead, he was instructed on the new narrative: he would break out as a solo artist, while the others would continue their activities as a quartet. The contract they had signed back when they were children included signing away their likeness, and there was more than enough material to generate an AI based off of them. They would live on, because the story had to be maintained.
Zecil continued to see them on billboards, on talkshows. Saying things they never did. Performing songs they never learned. He knew that they were never so competent, so witty, so capable, and yet there they were. The light of stars continued to travel across the universe, long after the stars themselves had blinked out.
He would be the same as them. A face, a voice, a couple of defining traits. A cog in the propaganda machine that kept money flowing, kept people happy. Even if he died, so long as his brand had value, he was immortal.
In that case...what was there to fear?
Zecil would keep spinning, sharpening his teeth against others, until he bridged the gap between the real and the ideal, so that the fraudulence he peddled had enough substance that he could save real lives with it.
Though he supposed that there were other deciding factors at play when his manager approved of his request to start work proper on the Frontier Planets.
Resort planets could show off carefully curated greenery and brilliant suns, with ripe, organic produce and picturesque homes, but that didn't prevent their tourists from being glued to their phones. If one wanted to enjoy nature, simulated nature was indistinguishable from the actual thing. If one wanted to enjoy delicious food, gene-modded products far surpassed what offerings could be harvested from field and farm. And if one wanted to have fun? Where else could one find a place more filled with joy than Lishenna-48, one of the premier destinations for recreation and media?
The planet is one of metal and glass, skyscrapers and monorails interlaced in a chaos that is only added to by the flying vehicles that would drop to ground zero or rising up full kilometers into the sky. Neon lights and animated billboards fill the space, and walkways bulge with people present for work or pleasure. Intergalactic sporting events are hosted upon floating super-arenas, while grand venues are booked ten years ahead of time with hit performers from all across the universe. For those with renegade tastes, the underground scene is perhaps even more intense, a ceaseless moshpit of indies trying to make the craft stand out from a crowd, each with their own gang of fanatics. Meanwhile, agricultural towers produce meat and vegetables in abundance, fueling the buffets that could be found in every casino on the block, food the therapy for losing your house as collateral on the poker table.
The entertainment industry, of course, is interstellar, as is the political influence of the Sol System. Countless forms of media spawn from Lishenna-48, either overtly or subliminally pushing the official stance of the government towards the Human-Aberration Conflict. Meanwhile, AI-assisted researchers pore over exabytes of data collected from the steady flow of tourists, perfecting the study of human behavior to maximize the efficacy of marketing. And all that profit funnels back to mili-tech megacorporations who had funded the terraforming and transformation of Lishenna-48 to begin with.
It's only fair though. You can't have fun without big guns, after all.

The inhabitants of Lishenna-48 are perhaps even more deluded than the tourists.
The promise of wealth and fame is the carrot, while heavy taxes the stick. If a single day could catapult you into multi-generational wealth, then it only makes sense to pay a great price to have the privilege of being in a place of such opportunity, after all. The people work hard, upgrading their bodies with cybernetics so they could work ever harder, then spend freely to show off their wealth to those around them, so that the illusion of being a socialite may grant them the opportunity to be noticed, to become a companion of, an actual socialite.
It's deeply stupid, but when there's ten thousand different lotteries running on the planet, when there's a grand winner at the slot machines every half-second, when a busker is picked off the walkways and transformed into an overnight sensation every system hour, it would be foolish to stop gambl- pursuing your dreams. Go fuck off if you want a modest, normal life. The digital sun never sets on Lishenna-48 and the fun never ends, so really, one just needs to work hard and play hard, intensifying efforts for both until the glass ceiling shatters and you ascend whilst heralded by a meteor shower.
Such status quo, of course, isn't natural, but there's nothing about Lishenna-48 that ever was.
[Warrior Family] The Zerresian Family, origin of the Cocytean Companion Anomaly, is a branch of the Northern Sect, standing guard over the outer Core Planets in the Aurs-Wyll Star Sector. Famed for their tactical brilliance, they've distinguished themselves as a potent branch during the Star-Route 77 Siege, Operation Wren Antler, and the 7th Core Incursion, but in recent years have been in the background, after the untimely demise of the family's only Red Giant-Class.
Still, the ability for their Anomaly to substitute or reinforce infantry has given them the glory of Zerresian Constellations to be placed further than most Northern Sect members within the bastion-planets of the Frontier, with the understanding that they can hold out against sheer numbers for longer than those of other Sects. Or perhaps politics is at play, and the Sect Leader would rather see the Zerresian branch be condemned to obscurity.

[Analysis] The life expectancy of most Lishennans is a decade or so below that of other Core Planet inhabitants, even when accounting for medical technology. With that said, Millie's a woman who took the 'always be spending' lifestyle of her kin and tacked on the 'live hard, die hard' mantra that her favorite movies push too.
She knows she's largely expendable, that she's really only there to pilot a drone so that she could catch Zecil in action so clips could be sent back to her own managers, but she's made peace with it. After all, how many other Lishennans could claim they've been to as many planets as her? How many in the Core Worlds could claim to know the truth about the Aberrants and humanity's struggle against them? And, if nothing else, her field work means that she's surrounded by strangely handsome and/or beautiful men and women, so that has to count for something, right?
Millie is an optimist by choice. She figured she wouldn't be able to keep it together for long if she wasn't.

Ancient Runes line the blade describing a history of the Kholomica bloodline that bore this sword. It has been passed down from father/mother to child/grandchild. This blade’s edge is sharpened closer than a razor. The blade is crafted from the finest steel, mixed with titanium and depleted uranium to lend its anti-barrier ability. The titanium edge provides its crisp sharpened quality. [Attributes] Durendal exudes cold. Its depleted uranium anti-barrier material blends with Achilles’ anomaly to produce an icy blast. Weapons ill-tempered to withstand cold may crack upon impact. When directed by Achilles an icy blast may reach out over a hundred meters to impact upon foes and slow them in their tracks.
[Anomaly]Venusian Ice [Origin]Line of Kholomica – Lysandra Kilgore (nee Kholomica) [Phenomena] Achilles is cold and dispassionate. He has no malice, just focused on the mission whatever the mission may be. His anomaly harnesses the cold of space and environ of planetside. He can produce cold temperatures and ice upon demand. Durandal assists him in his administration of these ends. His anomaly is “Absolute Zero”, an ice-based phenomenon that allows him to create constructs of ice. [Limitation] His lack of empathy for his fellow man does create a division between him and others. An observer might believe it is due to his desire not to get to close to others knowing so many of his comrades have perished in battle. They would be wrong. Percival does nothing to correct these misconceptions. Although he is adept at tactics at various levels of military units; squad, platoon, company, and battalion as well as the strategy of larger military organizations he does not often relate to the individual soldier. Achilles makes an effort to at least pretend he cares, but even that comes off as fake. The cold does wear on him, tiring him out physically. He needs warm environs to regenerate his anomaly and his constitution to continue. Prolonged exposure to the cold can weaken him to the point where he cannot function properly.
Profile
[Surface-level Impression] Constantly analyzing a situation, militarily or politically, understanding the outcome before it happens. His prescience is viewed as prophetic by some, a foregone conclusion to him. Honing his body’s ability to fight physically and mentally are constant endeavors. He pushes his muscles to their limits and exercises his mind to keep it just as flexible as his sinews. The tools of his trade are natural extensions of his limbs. He focuses on a fluid movement of mind, body, and soul focusing on agility, in effecting his presence on a battlefield. He leads by example and plans according to his pragmatic doctrine. Some may consider him slow to act, but when he does an avalanche falls upon his enemy.
[Personal History] Percival was born in Skagen, Northland roughly 250 miles northeast of the capital city of Madison. Skagen is a small city of roughly 65,000 inhabitants. The city is known for its mining operations in the Princep Mountains. They gather and sell precious gems to the businesses on the planet and to off-worlders as well.
Percival’s connection to Kholomica was through an ancestor named Lysandra Kilgore (nee Kholomica). She was imbued with the Kholomican anomaly from Venus and has passed it down to her children and grandchildren for generations.
The family moved from Venus to Gah Xia in the 25th century and has lived there since. A descendant of Lysandra named Beletar found one of the mines and began an industry that would generate wealth for the planet and the Kilgore family.
Beletar was not imbued with the Kholomican anomaly, but his grandson Frode Kilgore was. Frode was a famous Constellation of the 28th century being victorious over the enemy on more than one occasion. His renown spread throughout the galaxy, but that was ancient history. Frode and his legacy existed roughly ten generations before Percival was born.
Percival was known for his talents at a young age and by eight, was whisked away to develop those talents. His mentor was a man from Madison by the name of Harald Abramsen, a gentleman who rose to the rank of White Dwarf Class when his body could no longer take on the rigors of the Constellation. He trains young Stardusters now, mostly those found on Gah Xia.
Percival excelled in martial arts and in understanding small-unit tactics. At age 14, he was challenged to track a dire wolf in the jungles along the Snake River to the north. The locals were able to guide him to where they lived. He spent a week in the jungle tracking a dire wolf. He used an iron sword loaned to him by his mentor and slay the beast. The oversized wolf was heavy, but he was able to carry or drag it out of the jungle to claim victory over the creature.
Another challenge had him swim the Snake River from the southern bank to the northern side. His crossing point was two kilometers wide. The river was infested with dangerous sea creatures that could inject a paralytic into its prey’s flesh and others that were carnivorous. Knowing of these dangers, Percival swam the river for a total distance of four kilometers and survived. He had some close encounters along the way but was able to complete the task without falling prey to deadly fish.
The third task he completed was climbing Mount Li Song in the Majestique mountains of Great Amathistle to the north. The peak is at 17,536 feet (5,345 meters) in elevation. He was 18 when he completed this third task. Accompanied by seven other Stardusters of a similar age, it took them two weeks to make it to the top and another week to make their descent. One of their party did not survive the trek. Her corpse was retrieved and carried to the base of the mountain by her peers.
When Percival and the other Stardusters were not training on Gah Xia, they deployed to distant worlds fighting against the aberrant hordes. Fortunately for the citizens of Gah Xia, the aberrants had not attempted an invasion. It was only a matter of time and Percival was aware. He would not share his theories with family or any who might ask back home. Let them continue with their idyllic lives, heads firmly planted in the sand.
As a Main Class Constellation, Percival, aka: Achilles has seen many fights at all echelon levels from squad to brigade or regiment. But even at the higher levels of command, the action is where the rubber meets the road. And it was there, in the bush, that Percival felt the most comfortable. He enjoyed the company of his peers and those who fought around him, but more often than not, he kept to himself. Just knowing they were near him was comforting enough.
Gah Xia
The Beauty and Splendor of Paradise Gah Xia (pronounced: Gah Zeeya) is the fourth planet of the Sirius Star System orbiting a white star twice the size of Sol and a white dwarf connected by a shared gravity. The existence of the two stars allows for the third, fourth, and fifth planets to be inhabited by life forms.
The distance around the equator is 32,370 miles (52,097 kilometers), but smaller at 32,318 miles (52,010 kilometers) from pole to pole--1.3 times the dimensions of Earth. This disparity produces a slighter greater gravitational pull making bone densities and muscle mass slightly greater than humans on Earth.
A similar ratio of land to water exists on Gah Xia with six continents covering 70.1% of the surface of the planet. There is no frozen southern pole as on earth, that exists at the northern pole and is connected to two of the continents in the northern hemisphere through land bridges. The climate zones of Gah Xia are like Earth with Percival Kilgore growing up on the southern continent of Nyjord, a Danish version of New Earth.
The planet was discovered by a Danish Explorer in the 23rd century. The Chinese started populating the planet first and many of the names found are either Chinese, Scandinavian, or English in origin.
[Culture] The culture of Gah Xia is just as diverse as it is on Earth. As people from every race of Earth settled on the colony planet between the 23rd and 24th centuries it grew in a slightly different manner than the home world. The existence of anomalies made a profound difference on the people of Gah Xia. In most cultures, people exhibiting anomalies were heralded as heroes of the people.
The sovereign state of Northland in Nyjord boasts the Princep mountains surrounding Lake Madsen. At the southeastern edge of Lake Madsen is the capital city of Madison. Madison is a cultural icon for art, cinema, plays and museums. This cultural mecca draws crowds of people every year as a tourist attraction. The Interglobal Museum of Human Anomalies is one of the centerpieces of Gah Xian attractions
[Warrior Family] Frode Kilgore lived around 300 years before the birth of Percival Kilgore. He also used the name Achilles as his callsign and swung the sword known as Durendal, the 73rd Anti-barrier weapon produced in the forge of the mysterious Sword Mother. Frode handed down his legacy that he forged on the battlefields of distant worlds to his descendants. He was descended from the original Kholomican Venusian to come to Gah Xia, Lysandra Kilgore. She existed about two hundred years before Frode. The knowledge of his exploits are what have motivated many of his followers in the ways of the Constellation.
Harald Abramsen, 92, is a distant cousin or uncle to Percival Kilgore. He does not know the exact connection, only they both were descended from Lysandra and Beletar. The experienced patient old man helped Percival to become the warrior he is today. At one time, he also carried the Achilles call sign, and the Durendal sword but passed them on to his relative when he became of age. Harald retired when he was 64 and became an educator in the ways of a Constellation in Madison, Northland on Gah Xia.
Gunnar Kilgore, (deceased) had served for a brief time as a Constellation before passing away at the age of 26. Gunnar married Sigrid (nee Foss) when he was 20. Gunnar sired five children, with Percival being the youngest and only child to possess the family anomaly. Gunnar never knew his youngest son was so gifted. His wife Sigrid discovered the anomaly after Gunnar passed away.

No matter how they constructed it, the blade was a failure. Dozens of reworks made little headway. The more they had attempted to fix the sword or recycle the materials, the more issues it had. All attempts were failures. Even reclaiming the material and utilizing it in other blades was impossible; anything that had even touched the raw material seemed to fail. In a last ditch effort, its final incarnation was formed: a beyond simple zweihander, if you could even call it that. It would be more accurate to call it a sharpened cross.
Of course, that's only its base form. When utilized by Rudis, the blade is little more than a core designed to crack barriers. Buried within layers of pyretic stone, the goal of the weapon is simple: to create the ultimate defense and offense. A single blow that, while revealing the brittle core, is designed to annihilate anything ahead of her. [Attributes] None.

[Anomaly]Tectoniconesis [Origin]Symtropantos [Phenomena] Fundamentally, Rudis can melt down, collect, reform, and supercool nearby stone and earth. Simply put, she can form durable barriers around her weapon and herself. These stones can easily vary in temperature.
Typically, Rudis uses her phenomenon to cover her weapon. However, she can also form larger barriers of stone nearby to both limit movement and defend against attacks.
These barriers can, with some effort, stop most attacks from bishop-class aberrants. However, more focused attack require constant unkeep as Rudis must constantly rebuild the defensive layers around her weapon. [Limitation] Ultimately, their phenomena requires earth and stone. Rudis is significantly weakened when outside of these environments as she's forced to recollect the stones that typically cover her blade. As her phenomena focuses on the collection rather than acceleration of mass, she is extremely limited in range. In addition, her power consumes a significant amount of energy. It's not uncommon to see her completely on the verge of collapse whenever she goes all out, nor is it uncommon to see her devour enough food for three constellations.

[Surface-level Impression] Rudis is a simple person to understand. She's someone who wears her heart on her sleeve; that heart also happens to be beating hard at all times. While hot-blooded, she's a woman of inscrutable will. When she needs to achieve something, she'll risk life and limb to achieve it. To her, dealing with risky situations comes just as easily as breathing. There is no subtext to her actions; to do so is cowardly. She'll openly state what's on her mind regardless of tact.
Emotionally, it's rare to see her angry or sad. She's more commonly some mixture of excited, joyous, and satisfied. Only during the most dire situations does she ever opine a more serious nature.
Like her people, she has a great pride in keeping with tradition--especially with the traditions of her people. Also like her people, she has a characteristic denseness to her understanding. Playful remarks are seen entirely at face value.
[Personal History] The sole daughter of her parents, one would expect a sheltered upbringing for such traditional ideals. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Her father had passed early, so the typical upbringing of someone of her lineage was abandoned. Born into a Forgeship, Rudis had spent her learning of the duties of the ship. She practiced operating the hammers and played in their few training mecha. However, her duty was not of the ship. No, being from a warrior family, she was tested like all other constellations. They found her aptitude was enough. It would appear that her duty would be among the stars.
She had easily taken to conscription. It was her duty she was born to, so it would seem. Her training was noticeably harsh even for a constellation. She pushed herself to collapse every night. Not a single word of complaint came from her lips. She endured--no, she enjoyed it. No matter how much she sweat, no matter how much she bled, she pushed further. Her training was accelerated to the point of early combat merits. She had seen and participated in battles long before her training was completed.
Her career as a constellation was built on this same determination. However, her career was not one of pure success. No, her failings were obvious. Her weaknesses were apparent. But no matter what, she'd always return home. Ending a mission with critical vitals was common for her. When on the verge of collapse, she'd shatter the aberrant before collapsing. Even when nearly bisected, she'd hold her guts in until medical arrived. One thing was clear throughout all of her missions: not a single constellation or pilot had died while fighting alongside her.
And such was her career. Not one of mounting success and accolades, but one of survival and narrow victories.
Home World
[Planet Description] Penal flagships. Forgeships. Planet crackers. No matter what you call them, their role is the same: to support the war effort. The forgeships move through the stars with this single goal in mind. Forgeships are honoured for their contributions. Without them, the war effort would be crushed under megacorps.
Of course, forge ships were not always this venerated. Long ago, they had a simple purpose without honour. They were penal labour. Debtors, exiles, and other such rabble were sentenced to mine the stars without regard to their health. That wouldn't last forever--especially when convicts sought any comfort available. As generations of children who had only known the metal and stars lived and died, they began to seek determination. The right to grasp their freedom.
Thus began the rebellions. With no regard to their life, they staged mutinies and raised their own flag. Few were convicts. Most were born on the ship. They fought with mining equipment. To call it a losing battle would be an understatement. One thing stopped their simple annihilation: aberrants. With a newfound common enemy, their former wardens had decided that perhaps a mutual solution could be found.
The children only knew of the forges and stars. As such, they'd continue their work. But they'd have their freedom.
The Papillon was the flagship of the rebellion. Industrial and utilitarian, there are few besides the star born who could call it home. It's a brutal ship, but the children of the forge have an intense pride for it. It's their home among the stars. With grand forges and mining, the ship traverses space to ensure that their war effort is fulfilled.
[Culture] Filled with the descendants of exiles, criminals, and debtors, the mining clans are highly influenced by their past. Fragmented and anachronistic, their culture is filled with artifacts of their convicted heritage.
Those of forgeships are driven by duty: an inalienable purpose given by one's birth. To not fulfill one's duty is to lose one's purpose.
Remnants of their criminal past remain at the forefront of their culture. While explosive collars have long since been outlawed as apart of the Forgeship Accords, those of the Papillon still wear a variety of strings around their neck. Their recreation is typically mind-altering. Those of the Forgeships are known for their consumption of narcotics and booze--and their ability to carry them on any restricted planet.
Their culture, while not formal in the slightest, is highly traditional. They prefer doing things the old ways, good and bad. Their beds are hard as stone. Children are raised in the opposite of safety. How they strip planets bare for rare ores, ensuring that no terraforming will ever be conducted, is never questioned. Their drive to complete their duty at any cost is dogma.
Traditional arts had long since been abandoned. Instead, focus had been put on the quality of one's creation and ability. Performance had been replaced by athletics. The only painting they conduct is on their mining mechs. Their philosophy focuses on the relationship of body and reality rather than mind. As a result, those of Forgeships are often considered even more of dullards than those the frontiers.
Society on Forgeships is highly stratified in accordance to their duties. One is born or conscripted into a job and barring exemplary service, are expected to retire and die in the same role. Few will ever leave the Forgeships, but fewer wish to leave. However, their society remains communal. All of them understand the necessity of each other's role.
[Warrior Family] One would not typically expect a warrior family on a Forgeship. But, love finds a way. The Saint-Saëns had married into the Forgeship Papillon. The young master of the Saint-Saëns, a weak and timid man, was immediately beset with infatuation upon seeing his future wife. Of course, his attempt at noble courtship and romance had been met with a quick response as she (quite literally) swept him off his feet.
The Saint-Saëns are itinerants known for their logistical support of the war effort. Though, their lifestyle is not of choice but instead a requirement to understand the logistical needs of the frontier first hand. As such, they have a reputation of being warrior-academics. It was once said that there is no greater planetary administrator than a Saint-Saëns who had decided to settle--someone who could ensure prosperity in times of peace and war.

A retired Red Giant-Class constellation, Jean had been known for his sheer combat intelligence and agility. His career was devastating. It was expected that he would become one of few Supernovas, if not for his first failure. An unexpected attack on a frontier world that had served as a logistics hub. Jean was permanently disabled. Even the best medical technology could not return his agility and his intelligence could not compensate.
He's a harsh and stern mentor. Brutal, but with foresight and acting in Rudis' best interests. While he had taught Rudis his fighting method using anchor wires, he quickly adapted it to be more suited towards his trainee.
In truth, Rudis' ever timid and cowardly father had passed saving Jean.

[Analysis] It's no surprise that a constellation would have a personal physician, especially one that gets as injured as Rudis. Dr. Malvis is likely one of the few doctors who can properly deal with people from Forgeships. Curt, rude, and uncaring, Dr. Malvis isn't exactly the picture of a good doctor. Despite this, her talent and skill make her a useful.
A hobbyist pharmacologist, Dr. Malvis often develops concoctions to be utilized by Rudis to shore her weaknesses.

[Anti-Barrier Sword]A.B. Sword 光辉虚空(Guānghuī xūkōng)/Brilliant Void [Anti-Barrier Quotient]29% [Physical Description] Brilliant Void is an odd weapon for an AB sword. A long spear with minimal decoration along it's shaft, mostly the flowing aniconic designs common to the Mortuus-Orbitae trace themselves down it's jet black body, representing the planets and stars of the system where it's ore was found. These markings are marred by some odd discolorations that appear all along the weapon as if exposed to a fearsome heat, blemishing it's simple beauty.
At base of the leaf-shaped blade, where in ancient antiquity a red tassel would be based to disoriented foes and absorb their blood, lays the marker of the 離(Lí)trigram. It serves as a stylized representation of it's Number among the many A.B. Swords the sword mother has made, but also as a symbol of Clarity, of Humanity's strength of will. To some whispered naysayers, however, the designation is an insult,as the AB material of the blade is made from the discarded run off of another blade that has been handed to the Hua Sect.
An unwanted 'second daughter', a vapid black sheep. . . how fitting a weapon for it's current wielder. [Attributes] Brilliant Void, despite its simplicty, is a weapon deeply intwined with the anomaly of those descending from the Hua sect. When wielded by one of the Hua, it feels as light as the very air and strikes as quick as a cobra, like it knows where its blade needs to be before the wielder. So connected are the two that not even the illusion of distance can keep them apart, allowing the wielder to will the weapon to their hands with barely a thought regardless of how far away it seems to be.
When a wielder of Brilliant Void passes, it is said that the spear often vanishes from sight, rumored to even travel across the cosmos to appear before the last person their wielder thought of as the Void Mother closes her eyes on them one final time. A grim portent, and a somewhat troublesome aspect at times when it comes to the needed retrieval of the weapon to keep the true extent of the ar effort underwraps. Some have considered scrapping the rebellious weapon and repurposing the AB to a more compliant weapon, but the Mortuus-Orbitae argue desperately against such actions. After so much time on the frontier, a not insignifcant number of the A.B. swords lost in this war belong to members of their sect, so even a risky blade like Brilliant Void is considered to precious to give up.

The Anomaly of House Mortuus-Orbitae is that of Void, allowing users to summon portals of various sizes, shapes, and properties into being with but a thought. The use of such a power in combat with Aberrants requires quick reaction time, decision making skill, and an ability to reorient oneself in an instant in three dimensional space in order to take full adavantage of the freedom of movement it gives them. For users of a scertain skill level, the very portals themselves can be used as a weapon to sheer through unwrothy flesh and bone, or to allow access to ur foes internals when their armor proves to thick to penetrate. Zhegiang has even heard tales of users who have opened up the Void Mother's true domain within the palm of their hands, a window to the pressureless depths of space, pressed right up against an abberrant's form. The results, if the stories ring true, are as impressive in effectiness as they are distrubing to witness.
To compliment this ability, the Constellations of Mortuus-Orbitae tend to practice a modified form of Baguazhang, adapting the styles focus on evasive circular movements and redirections into a style that often excels when one is not bound totally to the whims of gravity, but allowed to travel freely in the fullness of three dimensional space. Known as the 虚卦掌(Xū guà zhǎng), or Void Trigram Palm, its practice tends to unleash a sense of uninhibited Thrill in its wielders, especially when in the midst of life-threatening situations. They report senses of heightened awareness of the space around them, better senses of coordination, improved reflexes, even improved control over their Anomaly. And through it all, they feel as if they are being watched over by a presence. . . just out of sight. Whether this is just a strange coincidence or truly the eye of the Void Mother watching over her most blessed of children is a matter of much debate within the family,but whatever the case, it is an attribute of the Void Trigrams that must be managed carefully. The thrill of battle is a dangerous siren to lose oneself to, after all. [Limitation] Zhegiang herself has a long way to go from reaching such lofty heights of Anomaly Mastery.
As she is currently, Zhejiang's only skill with her anomaly power is to walk the mother's domain and send non-living objects through it, though her formation of such portals is alarmingly fast for how recently she has gained her abilities. Taken to them like a fish to water, she can near effortlessly flit through the portals she creates, but due to her inexperience, they portals lack the stability to resist contat with living material, often causing them to disperse. POrtal dispersal launches both the offending organism and Trace if she is within one out of the Mother's domain with no small amount of force. That said such a limitation can be a benefit as she learns, making the act of slamming a half-formed portal into a foe an effective method of gaining distance. Still, it makes for a very clear weakness to her ability to escape from dangerous situations if properly accounted for.

More than anything else, Zhegiang is a proud person, to the point of flippant arrogance. In the face of any and all adversities or obstacles, her response is to take it head on and beat it into submission. She does not mince her words or hold her tongue around those who are, objectively, her lessers. Hers is a noble bloodline and thus, the only ones worthy of considering as equals are those of similar noble birth. . . or those who have proven themselves as worthy of respect.

BrokenMore than anything else, Zhegiang is a broken person. Perhaps she always has been, only deluding herself through naive youth that she felt as others felt, walked as others walked, could be as others could be. But her father, Dingxiang, never let her forget what she was. Ever since she stole his wife from him though the mistake of her birth, she was never anything more than an inconvient parasite. A thing, to be kept at a distance, a thing to be addressed only when necessary for the sake of propriety. Not a moment sooner nor a second longer.
It was Zhegiang, not her father, who pushed to enter the constellation program when the time came. While the readings of her Anomaly skill were somewhat low, in every other metric she seemed to excel among her peers. She never needed any assistance from her teachers, taking to the rigorous training with a fervor and a natural talent that left near speechless. . . and yet, it wasn't enough to let Zhegiang shine. For with every accolade she tried to illuminate for the world to say, it merely made her elder sister Meixiu seem all the greater.
Meixiu, the one born to her parent's in the traditional way through science and safe external gestation.
Meixiu, whose shining skill with her anomaly earned her the title of "the Mother's own hand".
Meixiu, who tried her best to make her little sister's life joyous despite their father's stern hand.
Meixiu, the reason that Zhegiang abandoned the constellation program after 5 years of serving as a vessel to heap further praise on her. She hated her sister as much as she loved her, and that thought made her feel dirty and sick. She had only been kind and descent to Zhegiang, yet when the younger sister looked at the elder, only stern judgemental eyes tared back. Not just those of her father, but her teachers. Her uncles, her cousins, everyone she had ever known in her life looked at her the exact same way. All saying the same thing. . .

BloodWhen Zhejiang thinks back to that day, sometimes all she can remember is the blood, the screams, and the overwhelming panic that took her over that day. Running through the halls with a rifle in hand, trying to guide civilians and non-combat to evacuation points, barely hearing any of the questions they asked as the beating of her own heart pounded in her ears.
There had been no warning
No alert called to get the thousands of combat personel on the Hēi xīng Station to their battle stations, no warning that Aberrant forces had even entered the system yet from the patrols. One moment, her and Duccia had been catching up on old times when they were both constellation-trainees and Zhejiang's coming tests to become a Pilot only to be interrupted by a strange garbled music to start playing through the station's intercoms. Disjointed and arrythymic, it didn't sound like anything Zhejiang had heard before. . . and then, a voice dripping with excitement whispered out among the discordant notes.
We Have Come For You
Then the screams started. . . and even hours later, as Zhejiang tried her best to lead any civilians she came across to the safety bays as was protocol, she'd yet to hear them stop. In constellation training, she'd been taught to see pawns as little more than an annoyance to be swatted aside individually and only proved dangerous in greater numbers. Such thoughts seem arrogant now as she saw bio-metallic carapaces skittering behind every corner, hounding her flock like wolves no matter how much she tried to fend them off with rifle fire. Through some hallways, she could hear the tearing of metal and the crunch of meat and bone. Others held the scent of blood and dead flesh so thick it mad her and those following her gag. The sounds of fighting was all arounded her, and she'd lost count of how many of the pawns she'd managed to put down, but it was never enough. There was always another pair of eyes watching from the shadows. Waiting. Watching.
Hunting.
It was her final return trip, an attempt to get to a group of survivor's holed up in one of the habitation blocks, when she encountered that thing. It was in the large food hall where her footsteps echoed in the relative silence and stillness. She tried to ignore the blood and the bodies, rifle raised and head ona swivel. She was fully aware of her surroundings, ears open and eyes wide.
She should've seen it enter. Should've heard it cross the floor towards her. But it wasn't until she felt those clawed fingers wrap around her throat ever so gently, that she noticed it standing over her. A towering shadow of nothingness cut against the backdrop of flickering lights stained red, as if her eyes were refusing to let any of the light that bounced off this monster to be properly observed. She couldn't move, so strong was her fear. Even as it slowly dragged the claws across her chest and dug them into her shoulder, the pain could not get her too move, as the knowledge that she was about to die to this [i]Monster[/i] gripped. It had come for her. This . . . was the end.
And yet, it was not to be.
A light to her side presede Meixiu, bursting through a portal to swing at the shadow, forcing it away from Zhejiang as Brilliant Void's blade sparked with dimensional fury. She would have fallen over entirely, her knees turned to jelly from panic, if not for Meixiu catching her. It was only now that Shejiang would realize that. . . she couldn't hear anything.
What followed happened in a blur too fast to really comprehend, as Meixiu grabbed Zhejiang and tossed her through a portal sending her back the way she came towards the escape pods. As she looked at her sister the last time, Zhegiang could see that she seemed to mouth something to her before slamming a fist on the control panel near by, slamming the airlock doors shut as two more constellations appeared behind Meixiu as the three turned to face the lightless void of a monster that had brought ruin to their lives.
As she made her way back to the escape pods, collecting another ten civilians along the way to save, she tried to convince herself that everything would be fine, that there was no way that Meixiu would be beat. She was the best, she was the prodigy, the Constellation that everyone wanted to be.
And yet, as she boarded and piloted the last escape vessel, her flock in hand, she heard something clatter to the floor by her side, followed by the now all to familiar iron smell of blood. But she didn't look. Not when the passengers started crying, not when the ship started to explode and burn around them while going through the flight procedues. Not even during the long travel to the nearest warp gate, now flooded with ohter escape craft from the doomed station. It was only when they were finally docked and she was no longer in control of the ten lives aboard that she dared to look down to her side in the cockpit, seeing the familiar weapon lying there. . . with a hand still holding onto it.
The tears came freely and in great numbers that day, and for many days after that, as she finally realized what her sister had tried to tell her before they parted.

VoidThat was what left in Zhejiang's heart after the attack on Hēi xīng, amidt the blood and the horror that played themselves again and again in her nightmares. They might have taken he over completely, subjecting herself to the Cold Mother's touch if not for Duccia. In the months that followed, Duccia never left her side if she could help it, never stop giving encouragement, never stopped watching over Zhejiang. She was her guiding star, the one thing she coudl turn to for some source of stability, comfort, or compassion in a world of pitieous looks or hidden disdain.
Despite getting a medal for her actions, saving a total of 40 people from that massacre all on that own, it porved a bitter comfort when the number of the dead rose was several thousands and the whole system had to be evacuated because the U.A.S. command in the sector could not figure out how the abberrant's had managed to bypass every safeguard.
And while the bloody dreams and shadowy figure never left her mind in those dark cold knights where the woman by her side proved her one and only comfort, something else finally began to match it. It did not fill the void in her soul, it aggravated it. Filled her with an overpowering itch to *Do* something.
So, using her family's name and her actions as collateral, she reapplied to the constellation program. The fear hurt her badly, made her weak, made her struggle more so than she had ever done before in her life. She had come face to face with the horrid realities of death and it scared her to her core. . . But she chose to fight on regardless, even as her father sought to blcok her path.
But with Duccia's support, she made iot past every oobstacle, turning her fear into burning passion and desire to not only uphold her family's honor and name, but to avenge her sister. To make sure their sacrifice wasn't for nothing. As such, when she finally earned her place amongst the stars, it was Brillaint Void that she chose to be her weapon. To carry on her sister's legacy.
The irony was so bitter she might have choked on it.
Rumored to be the first exploration vessel by their sect founder in the early days of Earth's expansion, the Niǎndào is a huge vessel from pre-civil war times that stands as a testament to the Mortuus Orbitae's ability to adapt and repurpose things to fit their needs. Home to millions of citizens, military ersonell, and the heads of the Family, it is a rather haphazard spacecraft, its hull covered in various repairs and structures to denote the many differing eras of Mortuus design philiosphies it has bore wtiness to, though the main design is an extremely boxy function over form design that still holds a somewhat rugged form to it.
Despite its. . . unconventional appearance, however, you'll find few spacebound structures in the U.A.S. more structurally stable or well-defended. Armed with the latest in energy-based weaponry and Core-power shielding integrated into old-earth kinetic weapon, holding in it's depths an untold number of crusiers, fighters, and artillery ships that it can unleash at a moment with it's standing battle force. A veritable flying fortess, it has always been the speartip of the Void Mother's faithful, and was one of the few spacecraft able to repel Abberant assault in the early days of the war, though not without extensive damage and loss of life.
[Culture] The Way of Void [W.I.P] To walk this path is to know that your end is inevitable, but it is in the inevitability that the followers of the Void Mother find their reason to keep persisting anyway. For they know that despite the cruel indifference she shows to them with the face of the Cold Mother, she does love and care for her children. We must prove ourselves worthy of her gaze.
The followers of the Way believe in several aspects of Divinity:
The Stone Father, who imbues the Universe with passion and crafts the planets to act as either examples of his genius or to serve as cozy Cradles for life(mainly humanity) to use while they figure how to wonder the stars.
The Vlid Mother, the principle figure of worship whose love surronds and coddles us so delicately. Yet this is a harsh love, for she does not offer guidance but the chances and struggles needed to show us how to become worthy of her gaze. She knows thst all life will ultimately end, but it is in that ending that kne cam find fufilment and joy.
And finally, the Cold mother. The second face of the Void, she is thr ceaseless vacuum, the creeping chill that boils blood and steals breath. She is the harsh death and disdain saved for.those who give in to.their fears, there sorrows,their woe. She who sets the Cold apathy on unworthy shoulders and forbids them the Void's kindness till rhey prove themselves worthy once more
[Warrior Family] Mortuus-Orbitae
A "warrior" family that draws a direct connection the the Hua sect, most that do not make a habit of serving along the frontier have likely never heard of this most reclusve of Warrior clans. Believers in a fringe religion(sporting only a few million registered believers across the expanse of frontier space stations they contro), many find them a bunch of esoteric fanatics that the Hua sect should denounce entirely. To these voices, the Mortuus-Orbitae have accomplished no great accomplishments, have offered no boon to Humanity's empire, merely sitting in their celestial space stations and looking down on those who dare to live planet side where they belong.
Those who have a deeper knowledge of this sect, however, know that they form the very *foundation* of Humanity's expansion across the cosmos. From the early days of conquest, through the turbulent period of civil war, amidst the painful rebuilding of empire, and even during this most brutal of wartime struggle against the abberrant tides, the Mortuus-Orbitae have sought to expand the hand of HUmanity into the vast void. Like the main sect itself, they have fingers in multiple industries related to the goal of galactic expansion and space travel.They manage the maintaince and construction of Space lanes and warp gates, they test, refine, and improve the standard quality of spaceflight technology, help run both colonization and evacuation efforts, and boast perhaps one of the deadliest and most coordinated starfleet armadas among any organization.
To the family itself, however, these are not reasons for accolades. These accomplishments are, in fact, the standard and focus that all of humanity should strive for. To explore the stars in the name of the goddess they call the Void Mother, they throw themselves into the study of technologies to not only better travel her empty depths, but to better their ability to survive it. Strict controls over-reproductive rights, generational genetic manipulation to lower the energy and oxygen needs of their people, and many shifts in doctrine have led to a culture that faces death as not an end, but an inevitability to embrace and accept.
They were the blacksheep of the Hua sect, and may have even been disbanded eventually despite their achievements . . . but then, the abberrants came. The first years of the war were blooyd and terrible, but for some, they praise the tactics and fearless bravery of the Mortuus for humanity's survival to the point where they could begin a counter offensive. Fighters streakign across space to their deaths to buy escape ships just a few minutes more, troops, manning atmospheric rail cannons and firing down at invasion forces even as abberant troops breaking into the the sealed firing rooms, even turning entire space stations into nuclear bombs to take out an invading swarm fleet.
The Mortuus Orbitae was not afraid to put their everything in resisting the aberrant threat in every front they found themselves in. As such, many Frontier planets will often treat them with some level of respect, though their odd mannerisms and tendency to distance themselves from 'stonedwellers' as they called those living planetside continued to keep a barrier between them and those they fought to protect. And despite their efforts, the cost of their tactics has long sense taken a toll on the Family who has focused the bulk of it's forces along the frontier planets and galaxies. Of the many sects and sub-sects, none ould be said to have lost more than the Mortuus to the Abberant fleets, nor can the depths of their hatred and outrage towards the Swarm be over-stated.

[Analysis] A fellow constellation, albeit one of Main rank, Duccia is the hearth that tempers Trace's roaring flame of fanatical passion. Possessed of an infectious energy and enthusiasm for life in all it's forms and features, but possessing a warrior's honor through and through. Duccia proves to be a steadying hand against the baser desires that drive her Voidbound's self-destructive behavior.
In battle, she fights like a Knight of old, energy shield on one hand an a grand lance known as the Venusian Star granting her a control over intense waves of arid heat and superheated gases. Launching herself into the thick of battle, she maintains a more defensive style while exuding waves of heat to exhaust her foes, though this does make her a hazardous ally to those ill-prepared to work with her.
Out of battle, she is a woman of a grand empathy for those with less, having become a true believer of the Mother's Kindess despite being from a seperate family entirely, the 3rd daughter of some fifth son. Unimportant in the grand scheme of noble power plays, which is more than fine by her.

Being born of the this family granted her several privileges. Many of which she took advantage. Often, caretakers would bend to her demands and in some senses started life spoiled and entitled. During her preadolescent years, she became a bit of a trouble maker. Sometimes, she would even rope her younger brother, Matthew, into her antics. After one harrowing event involving a drilling rig, June was finally given proper parenting. Luckily, it didn’t look like Matthew followed June’s wild footsteps growing up. One of the reasons June was able to get away with so much as she grew was due to her heritage. Not so much her family name, but that she was born with an ancestral anomaly. As soon as she showed signs of the ability, the head family immediately took action. Not only because it was required by numerous deals with humanity's defense, but having another strong wielder of the cold would continuously cement the family’s position among the powers of Glasswan. Any and all resources they needed to build his daughter to be as strong as possible, the family head acquired. June really took an interest in what her father actually did within the confines of Glasswan. She would often accompany him during business deals. Many times, this took place in the homes or hotel rooms of those June’s father was dealing with. She would be encouraged to play with the other children of those individuals. Whenever she looked at her father, he would smile. June could not help but notice how the other would not, or force a smile instead. Even as she tamed out reaching her adolescent years, she was not oblivious to what her father was doing then, and she was not so now. She understood that some things were required for progress. As of all families with such prestigious ancestry, June was to join the military, a fact that she knew at a relatively young age. Her brother knew it to. It’s hard to say what his resolve was, but when the time came, he left Deleyor Aye to train, while June was left to further master her abilities. It was something the both of them were aware of. Even at her young age, she knew that all those tutors and trainers there for her power lead to her participation against the aberrant threat. It didn’t take long for the two siblings to reunite, when June left Deleyor Aye as well to finally face the aberrants head on.

[Planet Description]
Deleyor Aye is the local name for one of the major natural satellite of the planet Allyion. Allyion is a gas giant, approximately 41,000 miles in diameter. The planet itself in uninhabitable, but large solid objects orbiting the planet from within its atmosphere shows signs of former habitation. The planet is cold, blue, and boasts dangerously fast wind speeds. The main feature of the planet is an oddly red storm that bands the planet from north to south. While this band does shift across the planet back and forth, its unknown how such a stark contrast in color exists isolated on that face of the planet. Deleyor Aye in comparison to the plant and its other satellites is more habitable. The satellite is approximately 8,300 miles in diameter. Deleyor Aye has managed to boast a thriving ecosystem of flora and fauna. Deleyor Aye's orbit around Allyion is synchronous. The planet has tall mountains on the planet facing side, while a single large ocean pools at the far facing side. Besides the hundreds of wide rivers that flow from the mountains towards that ocean, Deleyor Aye is full of lush jungles. The only local civilization is built at the base of the mountains between two of the largest rivers. Most of the flora on the planet comes in two types. The first grow stalks with long fibrous leaves that act as chutes or guides to sap covered seeds that slowly roll towards the ground. The much taller and larger of these plants have multiple tiers of leaves where one could hide behind for shade. The other kind forms pits, nets and clam shell flowers to trap small animals. Deleyor Aye is mostly dominated by plant life. The largest animals on the planet are about two feet long. Fauna lacks any major predators. They are instead mostly omnivores eating other animals as the need requires.

Deleyor Aye has only one civilization. More specifically, there is only one major location on the satellite that houses over 90% of the population. The name of this city is Glasswan. Despite the size of the city compared to the rest of the orbital body, it is quite successful. A large portion of the materials gathered are shipped to the main cluster of human civilization while still holding enough for growth and environmental sustainability. On the surface, Glasswan has no ill repute with the center of human civilization. However, Deleyor Aye’s considerable distance from the rest of the center of humanity has allowed for much secrecy to sprout and thrive. It’s known that while the heads of office change frequently as legislation changes, the Nameswall Forgone Jianque family has always had a foothold in all the goings on. Locals of Glasswan know to keep clear of their operation as they manage the mines and defense infrastructure. As long as there are no interruptions, then their perfectly legitimate business can continue to operate smoothly, bringing Glasswan continual support and security. The last thing that is wanted is self-proclaimed good samaritans bringing further stress to the already overtaxed state of humanity. Many would be remiss to forget there is little Glasswan cannot get away with.

The Nameswall Forgone Jianque family is a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, the family can trace its roots to when anomalies were first made known. The family had an affinity to ice and subzero temperatures. As centuries passed, this trait continued down the bloodline, giving them renown. On the other hand, this branch of that ancestry used that power for nefarious purposes. There was little crimes the family were not a part of, and thousands of lives were lost. At some point, the family was culled, and those who survived fled. Eventually, the family was brought back into the limelight. Claimed to have purged itself from its criminal past and reformed as an honest name ready to work with humanity. Even with these claims, the family chose to distance itself, moving to a far off system, settling, and help cultivate a thriving city, enterprise, and state. Though distant, the family kept its word supplying what it can towards the war front. However, this was not without criticism. The distance from the core worlds, from the center of human civilization had left few who knew about Deleyor Aye bitter. Those coming and going only doing the bare minimum as required from their service. It was almost like that family having both a praised ancestry and criminal past cared very little for the survival of humanity against the aberrant threat. Desperate to get a response. Yet, despite this, the family insists it is staying true to its word. It has not lapsed back into criminal enterprise. The range of the alternate fire is very short in comparison to its primary fire, but affects a larger area from where the gun was fired. The gun has an external input for hard ammo should it be required.
MPOD Field Gun: A three barreled cannon that serves two functions. The main purpose of the weapon is to aim and fire payloads towards precise locations. This works more like a grenade launcher. Each load is capable of a multitude of functions. The effect of the payload during detonation can be changed at any point prior. Payloads can be programmed to detonate upon impact at the designated target, or delayed for either remote detonation or external trigger. Payloads with lingering effects can be turned off at will. The Second purpose of the gun uses a similar technology as the primary weapon. A path is created for the payload to travel. This is achieved using a repulsion beam to clear a way through debris or obstacles for the payload to land at its intended target. When used normally, the payload travels just after the beam, creating a seamless path towards the intended point of detonation. This function can also be used as a second Graviton line gun without access to the alternate fire. ◦ Vortex Main One Module – The payload explodes creating a wide gravitational pull dragging anything weighing 50 tons or less towards its center at a range of about 50 meters. The effective pull quickly diminishes beyond that range. ◦ Vortex Main Two Module – The payload explodes creating a strong repelling force that continuously emanates for several minutes. The force is strong enough to push debris and equipped personnel up to a weight of 50 tons. While the repulsion field is active, the closer to the center of the repulsion, the stronger the effect. Under normal circumstances, nothing with less than 50 tons of force can push past the center. ◦ ATED v3 Module – The payload explodes releasing a concussive blast and some shrapnel mainly consisting of the surrounding environment. The main source of damage comes from the 30,000 nano needles housed inside. The needles are thin enough to penetrate most forms of standard armor and even some nonphysical nonaberrant barriers. The needles flare shortly after penetration causing further damage inside, while also limiting unintended piercing through multiple obstacles. ◦ Calmed Heavy Gas Module – The payload explodes releasing a cloud of heavy electrostatic gas. Axalon Sky Eye v1 Minimap: A special sensory device that can capture the scene around the entirety of the mech and more. It is able to provide the pilot a near perfect map of his surroundings beyond his line of sight using all additional information including electromagnetic waves, sound waves, ambient energy, and targeting data from neighboring mechs. This map is updated constantly, creating a near perfect view of the surrounding area and can locate hidden enemies as sensory inputs change throughout the battle. Furthermore, this works through active Calmed Heavy Gas.
Orbital Omnidirectional Wings: A pair of vertical blue energy propulsion engines installed flush on the back of the machine. Despite the name, the propulsion engines are only capable of rapid forward and sideways movement. However, should the pilot find himself in a zero gravity location, he can maneuver the mech freely in space.
Cross Self Guiding Beam Blade: A sword made of hard light and beam energy that can be manifest at will built into the arms. The blade is self correcting, always adjusting the blade itself so the sharp edge is in the direction of the swing. This feature can be turned off at will.

He likes to be prepared for any task that comes his way and as a result has on hand the tools he needs to get the job done. If not, he generally knows where he can find them. Even in the event he is without a tool, he can improvise and work with what he has. He’s prepared to be under prepared. While he isn’t one to take time off a majority of the time, he isn’t one to turn down an invitation either. If nothing is urgent and he is welcome, Matthew will spend time with other soldiers. Often, it’s his sister urging him to socialize more. While he doesn’t make many jokes himself, he does enjoy the banter others bring. Though he doesn’t admit it he does like being around others taking part on the camaraderie. It helps him takes the time to relax as he should between missions.

It was hard managing the various companies, and dealings collecting resources, distribution, and of course finagling the local legislators into grossly beneficial deals with foreign interstellar “businessmen”. As a means of exposing himself to what his home, Glasswan had to offer, he took part in the home side of things. Of course he was too young to do any actual work, but he easily took a feel for the inner workings of the factories and mines. He was operating heavy vehicles before he was even ten. At home, he would design fake plans for fake companies, throwing challenges at them of his own design. Then he would be tutored in mathematics, sciences, and even worlds history. Not that he found the latter of much benefit. By this point, the world had expanded to so many others it would be impossible to keep up or care for what mattered at those times. But there was one topic that was ever relevant regardless of what world, rocket, or asteroid one lived. There were the aberrants. He always knew regardless of what he decided to pursue at home, he would find himself on the front lines against those abominations. It did not matter Deleyor Aye was in a completely different galaxy to humanity’s center. Those creatures would eventually come for them, too. It was better to play nice than to futility hide away.
