I saw a couple Anti-heroes on my count, too?
____________________________________________________ C H A R A C T E R I N F O R M A T I O N Name Dr. Fae Evangeline Valentine Aliases Bloodlust | Dr.Valentine Alignment: Villain Age: 29 years Old Height 5'9 ft Personality: Fae's: Dr.Valentine on paper was made for her very public facing job. On the surface, her impossibly nice and kind demeanor was incredibly alluring. She lived true to the aura she gave off when she gave presentations at health science conferences, one who was truly magnanimous. Of course one would think that Dr.Valentine's social life was busy, but instead would come to find that she was incredibly reclusive. Only going to parties or gatherings if deemed absolutely necessary, since the woman had been in the healthcare industry, she had always been impossible to meet, for business or private reasons. It only made the desire for her attention worse as she's gotten older, and finds it harder and harder every year to hold Bloodlust at bay. She's a kind and caring person, but it feels as though you're only seeing and interacting with her through a frosted mirror almost. Her employee's at her hospital and colleagues alike only have good things to say about her, even if only about her work and never anything personal. Bloodlust's: You know that feeling when you smoke a cigarette under an awning while it rains, watching the rain fall peacefully? Fae happens to encapsulate the exact opposite feelings, more like smoking cigarette and trying to ash your cigarette, only to catch your grass on fire, and then your home...and then yourself. Bloodlust is a personification of all the awful and vile things Fae thinks and is deep in her core. She is anything but a peaceful and kind soul, coming into peoples lives like bullet to the temple, typically fast and exceptionally bloody. Fae keeps a leash on Bloodlust, but because of the way her power works, that leash would look like a thin thread, ready to break at a moments notice if it appeared in a physical manifestation. She is living this life with the only intention of furthering her personal motivations and goals. She WILL say ANYTHING to get what she needs or wants, and she'll just as easily save you one time, as siphon you of your blood the next. She hasn't met anyone capable of taming her, nor did she think she ever would. But things are okay like this, who needs friends, when you can just make them do what you want, right? Motivations: Fae's: -Trying to find the cure for Leukemia and other blood related cancers. -Become the foremost authority in Hematology. -Run her R&D Company the best way she can. -Stop Bloodlust from taking control of her body. Bloodlust's: -Infect the whole of Nova city -Unquenchable thirst for blood of any kind, but humans satiate her the most -Mess with Fae's life as much as she can -One day gain complete control of their body Affiliations: None as of right now Base of Operations: Valentine Cancer Treatment and Research Center (V.C.T.R.C is plastered in a vertical line going down the side of the building), as it says in its name, VCTRC is a large treatment and research facility that Fae started with her inheritance and the help of a couple of charitable celebrities. While the Center treats all kinds of cancer's, they've grown notoriety in the last five years for its groundbreaking research in Leukemia and potential cures. They are receiving patients all over the world and Fae is typically spending most of her time here, as her apartment is located below the huge hospital. She also has a secret lab hidden in her apartment that lets out into the sewer and metro tunnel system beneath Nova City. Public Perception: Dr.Valentine is known to Nova city as the Awe inspiring doctor, on the verge of finding groundbreaking treatments and possibly even a cure for Blood Cancers. She's been interviewed by local and national news, and has made speeches at several of the biggest health science conferences passing through Nova City. Needlessly to say, she's perceived well by the public and it wouldn’t be so far fetched that other heroes and villains have seen her public facing persona on TV or in newspapers. Bloodlust however has begun stirring a new urban legend of a white haired witch that lurks in the underground passageways and dark alleys around Nova city. She's been encountered both at night and during the day, and those who have lived have said conflicting reports on her actions. Sometimes she simply asks for a favor, some have even been saved by her, but most recall her seeming to be going insane, telling them to ran as fast as they can while "she" holds "her" back. Bodies are turning up, petrified, as if all their blood taken from them and there have been reports of animals going missing more and more each month. No one has made the connection between all of it yet, but time is ticking for Nova City to become wholly aware of the monster living amongst them. P O W E R I N F O R M A T I O N Power/Abilities: Hemókinesis - Fae is able to freely control her own, Synthetic or Harvested blood, capable of wielding it in anyway she deems fit. Imagination is the limit for the capabilities of her control, ranging from creating pre-gunpowder era weapons such as swords and spears, she send it at her opponents in a variety of shapes, create solid shields, or even create orbs of floating blood to drown her target in. As long as she can gain access to blood, of her own or another's, she can sustain her control. She can harden blood to the same durability as reinforced steel. Vampyric Draining - Fae has the ability to absorb blood from a target, as long as her skin is touching theirs. It can be by a hand, a kiss, a bite to the neck. The more vitality one has, the weaker this effects drain on the target is. As she absorbs a target, they begin to wither and age, the effects happening in less then ten seconds for a non superpowered individual. Weight and Height also play a factor to the speed of the drain. Once she's drained a target full, she's able to add it to the blood halo that sits above her head as stockpile. She also is able to rapid heal, everything but direct headshots and strikes to the heart. She can also decide to absorb the blood directly for a speed boost and added durability, instead of stockpiling. Moonlight Madness - Like it says, at night, she has increased senses akin to that of an animal bred for hunting, for the trade of the stability of her mental state. She tries to lock herself away at night, as the more people she comes into contact with, the more likely the mental bind on Bloodlust is lifted. Gene V - If she can get her blood into a target, depending on their level of mental fortitude and affection for Fae, she will be able to control the target for varying amount of time. For non super powered individuals, she currently can keep them for up to a year, before having to inject them with her blood again. She has yet to capture a superpowered individual, so she is unsure how long it would last, even if she did get someone under the "spell". She is able to control their movements by blood in their body, or influence their choices and decisions by blood in the brain. She also can heal toxic blood with her own blood, it acting as a natural anti-body like medicine against Blood borne illness and genetic disease. Or inversely, she can toxify her own blood to cause blood poisoning on the target, ranging from sickness, to death if given enough of her blood. In the case of an especially willing brain, she can even turn them into a Vampyr, wholly devoted to her. A target that has undergone becoming a Vampyr, will become one in the literal sense unlike Fae, unable to walk amongst sunlight. Sunlight will reduce them to ash under a couple of minutes, their bodies not capable of absorbing UV rays. They will lose their ability to eat normal food, gaining the trademark hankering for blood. In return, they gain tremendous speed and strength, and if given enough of Fae's blood, her ability to control blood in similar ways. She has only made one Vampyr, and they are no longer living. Bloodlust cannot create one without Fae's consent, but she's slowly wittingly away at Fae's thin veil of control. Weaknesses: - Fire, Ice, and Water all in a multitude of ways are hard counters for Fae and Bloodlust without a source to replenish blood. - She can only hold about ten adult men's worth of blood in her Halo that holds her stockpile. - She will begin to function suboptimal the more she uses her own blood if pushed without a stockpile and nothing to replenish. - In order to absorb blood and in turn heal rapidly, is by skin to skin contact, can be blocked by clothing and armor. - She is a fleshy without absorbed reinforcement, so head wounds and huge damage will incapacitate her. - Fae's power manifest in the form of a second personality threatening to take complete control of her body. When Fae uses her powers, they typically are half as effective, as they are when Bloodlust is in control. Bloodlusts specific trigger relates around heartrate. Reaching 150 beats per second will begin to break the mental prison that contains Bloodlust. At 180 beats per second, Fae will begin to undergo her change into Bloodlust, and at 200 the transformation is final until Bloodlust absorbs from three bodies. Before 200 Beats per second, if Fae is able to bring her heart beat down, she'll be able to stop the transformation from taking place, however additional stimuli will make the transformation trigger cut by half each time, until she cant stop Bloodlust from coming. The cooldown for this is typically an hour before her heart rate trigger resets to 150,180,200. Bloodlust is not in complete control, Fae capable of breaking Bloodlusts control for a minute in times of great effort, otherwise she is like a passenger in her own body until the kill count is reached. Once Bloodlust has absorbed three bodies worth, she no longer able to "break" out of Fae's control, unless Fae willing gives it to her, to which she has a three kill limit again. Combat Style: Fae tends to fight at more of a ranged distance, with minimal chances for close combat. She will try her hardest to fight at medium to long range, anything to keep her heart rate down. She hasn't fought much in her base form, typically most fights end up with Bloodlust taking control. Bloodlust fights like a wild hound, okay with taking damage and fighting up close, all for the sake of taking your blood. She fights dirty, with the intention of making sure she'll get a reward for her efforts. E X T R A Anything else? - Theme Song | H i s t o r y Fae's life was as storybook as it could get for any persons childhood, being born to two successful doctors in Nova City. She was given everything, never needing or wanting for anything, except the tried and true cliché of her parents attention. Every year after the age of five containing the strange feelings of loneliness in her memory. Because of this, Fae was often left to read her parents study, the rest of the home unappealing to the little girl. She realized any time she tried to say one of big words from one of the many health science texts her parents stocked most of the shelves with, her parents would stop to praise her and tell her what they meant. Her destiny surely being written before her birth by her parents, Fae never questioned if she was truly interested in being a doctor. And with the birth of her sister when Fae turned four, it surely would never be a question in Fae's mind. It seemed her parents opted into a different approach to parenthood with her baby sister, Fae noticing, even at her young age, how much attention they seem to give her. When school started, it seem to become even worse, as Fae would come home to both her parents having taken the day off to spend with a newborn not even capable of conversation yet. But it didn't create a monster like how it should, it created a crafty and smart child, who realized what she needed to do to earn any praise from her parents. She wouldn't hate her sister, but instead use her sister as a springboard for the attention she craved, by being her baby sisters best friend. The gap between her and her sister only seemed to widen when the baby girl started to speak and even was old enough to start going to school. Fae being four years older, was constantly used as a comparison for where her sister should be well past. No matter how much she tried, how many straight A's she got, it would never compare to her little sister, despite her sister getting the occasional B's. As if the universe wanted to twist the knife into a child already so silently defeated, her sister than became ill with Leukemia when Fae was 14, her sister 10. Fae never would have imagined how much her life would change, despite her not being the one with the diagnosis. Her parents began to become cruel to Fae, scolding her for tiny mistakes, no matter accidental or not. It became an overbearing pressure, an unspoken truth that her parents all but said. They wished she had been the one to get cancer, of course never saying something to cruel to her, but implied in the statements and the way they treated her for the two years until her sixteenth birthday. Her parents made a big deal about all the things they needed to do for her little sister that day. That they wouldn't have time to set a party or do something elaborate. In fact, they made Fae feel guilty about even wanting to have a party with some of her friends she had managed to find at the most prestigious STEM Highschool in Nova City. Nevermind the millions of dollars they had stashed away, or the ability to hire someone to do the things they needed done with the snap of a finger. The Gaul Fae had for insinuating that sixteen was a big birthday for her, when they weren't sure her sister was even going to make it to that age. They had left Fae at the house, saying she was free to spend her birthday alone if she was going to be so selfish. Fae had never, and would never cry as much as she did that day in her room after her parents left with her sister. In her first and final act of rebellion, she decided defiantly that she was going to do something for herself, since trying to be her parents perfect doll seemed to make things worse. She invited her friends, who invited their friends and so on and so forth to come to her home and have a party. They would probably be home late anyways, though not that Fae cared if they showed up. It's not like not doing anything would have made them happy. Except Fae would be unable to hear the many many phone calls ringing into the night as her party raged on. It wasn't until her Father burst into the home, she had never seen her parents display rage, angry and disappointed? Sure, but never...this. It seemed while Fae had been having her party, her little sister had broken into a sweat, that wouldn't stop and eventually escalated to them needing to bring her to the hospital. Her little sister had been asking over and over for her, working herself up despite the doctors pleading with her to calm down. She fell into a fever induced coma because she wouldn't try to sleep without Fae there. They had been calling every ten minutes for whole day, but the ringer had been turned off on the house phones so they wouldn't wake up her little sister when she was resting. The beating the man put on the girl, strategic so that when they made it to the hospital, he wouldn't immediately be arrested. Fae screamed her apologies out with each belt lash against her back and legs to no avail. Her father then dragged her to the car to go to the hospital, the entire ride down to the city, he'd turn to yell at her. It all happened so fast when Fae manifested her powers in that car on her sixteenth birthday. Her heart rate wouldn't stop rising. Holding her hand to her chest as her father got more angry. She tried to apologize, while also trying to tell her father she felt something wrong, which only furthered to piss off the man even more. But he wasn't seeing what she was feeling internally. She was absolutely boiling on the inside, her blood seeming to want to rip free from her skin. Her heart rate had reached a crescendo and she began groan in pain, making her father reach back to smack her for faking being in pain to get out of being in trouble. Almost like a reflex, her power lashed out, Bloodlust lashed out. Blood that had fallen from Fae biting her lip shot into her fathers neck and out the front windshield like bullets. Her father quickly lost control of the car, as he went stop himself from bleeding and passing out. Veering off the road, they collided with a tree knocking Fae out, or so she thought. When she came too, she was two hundred yards from the crash into the woods, standing, where a male hunter laid in a withered husk in clothes at her feet. Falling back in horror, she ran back to the car, only to find her father horrifyingly contorted into an accordioned front end of the car. Throwing up in front of her, she fell to her knees in disbelief at what she caused, until she realized she was in perfect condition. The horror and dread setting in to why that body might have been at her feet and why she was standing outside the car fine, were quickly dashed by the sounds of sirens approaching from above on the road they had just been on. Fae panicking, got back into the car and proceeded to act passed out, unaware of the fact that she was able to control her blood and by cause her heart rate. All of this culminated in a year long investigation concluding her fathers death being labeled an accident on her part. This was a terrible and horrific moment of guilt that set Fae down the path she has long been on for the better part of thirteen years of her life. She spent the first four years figuring out how to control her powers and how they worked, all while becoming a young rising star in the field of Hematology and Oncology. With her power, she was able to begin healing her little sister, until Bloodlust revealed to Fae in the most horrific way that she could create Vampyr, turning her loving and kind little sister, into bloodthirsty crazed killer. She tried everything she could to turn her back, but without her little sisters consent, she was forced to watch as her little sister burst into ashes in her hands. The mysterious disappearance of her little sister would kill her mother from grief, unable to live any further in the mortal realm without her favorite people. In some type of roundabout way, her parents had left all of their wealth, solely too Fae, a sick sort of payment for the 25 years of torment they inflicted on Fae. None the less, Fae has dedicated her life to trying cure the same disease that brought her little sister to destruction. Using her parents inheritance, she was able to start an R&D company, and after four years of running it, she and her team are considered one of the foremost minds in Hematology and it's applications to treating Oncology. |
