You seem to not pay much attention to the setting's lore, and you also seem to be trying very hard not to interact with other characters aside from Gutta's charge and the viking surgeon.

I have to be honest, I'm legitimately curious as to why you joined an RP with an established setting and many other characters. Wouldn't it be easier to simply start your own and RP with your friends like that?

I mean, we had an argument already about not knowing "famous" characters. Rorskoth's app says he's been in the Order for a decade, but apparently, so many people prefer healing by magic over healing by scalpel and needle, the almighty, the legendary, the immaculate Merilia never knew.

@VitaVitaAR I assumed @Mercenary5 and I were gonna say hi to Jarde (@PaulHaynek) once he and we were in the library together. Then someone else chased him away and screamed "NO PAY ATTENTION TO ME INSTEAD." I find this behavior very unbecoming so I'm distancing myself from it.

...yes. Its super surprising that in a group made narrative sometimes people post things ahead of you. And those posts disrupt your intended narrative. And you need to adapt slightly to handle their interaction.

Are you sure you've RP'd before man? Cause it seems like you're missing out on key features of this hobby.

Edit: Not to put too fine a point on it, but if other people were disrupting things you wanted to do, its kind of a good idea to PM them and try and work that out. Atleast in regards to the Jarde thing

I've been following the idea that most "healers" are magical in nature and don't need an infirmary with specialized equipment. Whereas the surgeon will be a guy with a bone saw, a scalpel, various tinctures and ointments; anesthetics. Cabinets full of crap.

I am under the assumption they still need that stuff even if they are magical. Although to be fair, I would like to know the GM take on this.

Unless magical healing isn't exactly instant. people can still get sick and lost blood can't be magically restored out of thin air. A recovery area like an infirmary would be necessary in any case.

and given that the surgeon is a guy with such implements, why would anyone in their right mind even remotely consider paying a visit to one? Aside from cost concerns. (which, given that our characters are an order of nights, isn't at all an issue)

The surgeon was accepted in the thought that it was understood that battlefield first aid is still something useful.

The majority of healers are magical, and whenever you need something intensive you go to them since they can mend injuries with magic. But having a wound already sewn together can help keep it in place to heal with magic.

An infirmary is needed for recovery regardless, though, since even healed injuries can leave someone having lost blood and all that.

I mean, Surgeon still works in the sense of them being capable of performing delicate surgery work. Like, resetting ribs, handling bone fragments, correcting knee injuries excetera. Though how much of that would exist in setting IDK.

Basically looking at it as 'healers' being GPs (take two wolfs bane and call me in the morning) and surgeons being specialists.

@pugbutter: I still feel you haven't paid much attention to the setting lore. I'd at the very least like if you asked me about the lore if there's things you don't quite get.

In addition, I don't think someone wanting their character recognized when it made sense was anything too terrible. I think it was just a desire to get more interaction going.
