The History

HAIL BRITANNIA!

The year is 2240, The 200th anniversary of the Holy Britannian Empire's rebirth and growth. 200 years since the third and final world war that led the earth into a state of poverty.

The Then-United Kingdom took advantage of the fighting by waiting out the war, getting rid of the past problems of their countries and letting the rest of the world burn itself to the ground in their arrogance and avarice. When the fires of the war finally died out, the UK made their move, scavenging the remains of the former superpowers of the world and taking over what was left of the desolate world.

Declaring itself now the Holy Britannian Empire, they instilled a one-world government they would rule, but was quick to realize...there wasn't much left TO rule over thanks to the wars. There were colonies by now who placed themselves in terraformed versions of the planets of the solar system, of whom they signalled to help assist in the earth's reconstruction, but none came to their aid, abandoning their homeworld to suit themselves on their own worlds.

It was then that help came from another source from beyond their solar system. The Denari, a race of elvish humanoids from the other side of the galaxy, somehow managed to detect the drifting signal launched from the Earth and traced it back to the planet. Not used to the gravity of Earth, their ship does not make a pleasent landing, but the Denari inside were unscathed nonetheless, impressing the humans of Earth who witnessed this for themselves.

The Denari were a peaceful race and came to earth upon tracing the signal so as to offer assistance to the humans and help reform the state of the currently battle-scarred planet. In return, the humans assisted in fixing their vessel so that they may return to their own side of the galaxy in the process. Both sides met their parts of the bargain in kind, with the humans taking an exquisite interest in the ship's technology and the unique metals it was made from. Upon the successful repairs of the ship, the Denari, save for a few who decided to stay behind for one reason or another, left the earth to return to their own home. The humans in turn took the knowledge they learned from researching the Denari, and among other technological advancements across the board, created their own intergalactic vessels to use, far beyond the shuttles they use to make for such travels.

Traveling outside their Solar System for the first time, and using the Hyperdrive technology gained by combining the knowledge of Denari technology with their own, the first imperial fleet traveled across the Milky Way Galaxy to a more populated sector of the galaxy, filled not only with the Denari, but other alien races and respective advanced technologies. Most of these Alien life forms seemed non-hostile, friendly even in one way or another. However, it seems they were in the middle of a war against another singular race of alien life that was far more hostile and deadly to the rest of them. They appeared to be a warrior race known as the Karatai, a brutally savage species, but not unintelligent. They were driven by the ambition to dominate the planets of the system, and proceed beyond that into eventually the whole of the galaxy. What's worse, they had the technology and the strength to back up those ambitions.

But the humans of Earth had charisma, they may have been new to intergalactic battle, but their experience in wars and strategy led them to unite with the alien species and together push back and defeat the Karatai, making them retreat to their home sector within the galaxy.

The once separated planets and species of this vast area of space were now united together, merging their cultures and politics together with each other and the newcoming human race, making the Holy Britannia Empire go from the ruler of a single planet to what it is now: a Conglomerate ruler of entire sectors of planets. Ever growing as they expand even further than the 32 sectors they currently possessed.

These sectors of space, each controlled by a core solar system, were each named after the mighty knights of the round table from Earth's Arthurian Lore, From Arthur, the most luxurious and home to its Capital planet of Excalibur, to Mordred, the original solar system that the humans all came from.

For 200 years the empire expanded and prospered under the glory of its emperor and the harmony of its multiple races of people. But it was not without its problem; like any government on any planet, the empire suffered from numerous crimes and vices that created unrest for the people of the world, Rebel terrorists who act against the empire's rule, Alien races from unexplored sectors who refuse to give the of their planet away from them, often declaring war on the empire for that sake, and the ever-present threat that still existed and loomed over the empire's head, the Karatai. Still, the empire is made quick to counter these problems as they come, using galactic police and military fleets to weed them out.

The Invitation

...They will NOT be our focus, however. Rather, our story truly begins on the Prime planet of Lancelot, the industrial sector of the Empire.

Lancelot Prime

The Lancelot Sector served as the main production line for the rest of the imperial government; all the goods, valuables and resources are produced and mined from its planets and traded by imperial privateers to be escorted to whatever planets are in need or willing to buy. Because of this, it is no stretch to say that this is the heart of the imperial economy, making it a vital sector for the empire, hence the name. Most items of public society are marked with the words "Made in Lancelot."

Also because of its importance in galactic economy and industry, this is also often a place where criminals often attack for one reason or another, and so has been made into a police state as a result, and said police are not big fans of the poverished poor. What's more, the planets are not exactly the cleanest thanks to the smog created from the factories of these worlds, and Lancelot Prime had the worst of it, the factories on it being more like cities for the middle-class than anything. It was something of a miracle that you could breathe in the dirty atmosphere and still be able to work around the clock to complete the quota of your work.

Ah, but its impressive amount of pollution and and industry is not why you came here. You are currently jobless, but you had no intention of working in a nightmare working space like Lancelot. Rather, you came here because you found a note somehow plastered on almost every planet's job listings, and for one reason or another, decided to take a look at it.

HELP WANTED!
Able-bodied mercenaries, pilots, mechanical experts, culinary experts, and doctors

The imperially recognized Captain B. Morgan has requested the ready assistance of any and all able-bodied men and women aboard the 'Typhon' as Privateers working under the order of the Imperial Armada and senate.

You will be engaging in business transactions of the sometimes forceful kind, ranging from repossession of merchant equipment on loan from the government, and forging productive deals with other tycoons of the 'vibrant' kind, to missions involving extreme repossession which may or may not lead to the issuing of lethal force.

In addition, you may or may not be contracted by the imperial armada to find and capture all naysayers, aliens, and of course the Karatai to be tried for whatever crimes they shall commit in the name of terrorism.

Any wishing to be hired: Come to the Dark Matter Bar, located on Lancelot Prime's 8th city block.

Glory to the Empire, Praise to the Emperor.

It seemed like an official, legitimate job advertisement directly published from the government. However, you are able to spot something odd about the paper, particularly in its first paragraph. It's difficult to tell with some of the letters, but you could see that some of the letters appeared to be marked with a cut on the paper. Looking in order, the letters that are marked seemed to spell out a couple of words.

B U R N P A P E R

Burn Paper

The less experienced with the shady side of the empire may seem it odd, but may humor the orders given. The more experienced, however, would know this is about and so as told without delay. Either way, you light up the paper as asked, and as the words on it disappear and the paper is charred to a singed ebony, just before it crumble to ashes and scattered char, you notice a white chalk-like lines fade in from the fire, until they formed the outline of a certain symbol.

The Skull and Crossbones

A symbol that meant two things: Death, and Defiance. A symbol representing poison, but more importantly, Piracy.

It is, in fact, a common ploy used by most criminal organizations; no smart person in any mafia or rebel faction would outright say their hiring members in public. So they disguise their announcement to make it look like they're hiring people for normal, legal jobs, while hiding their true message with invisible ink. Not only effective for announcing their need for members and new goons while avoiding the attention of authorities, but also in erasing the evidence of the announcement ever being made by burning the posters to dust, often using that to their advantage in trials against them, especially if the one to burn them was a detective or officer who immediately went to the location in question and arrested them for it, as they themselves would be charged with destruction of evidence and the prosecutor's case therefore becoming void. There was, of course downsides and loopholes made to counteracts this idea, but it is still an effective one, given the effort made to conceal it.

Usually the outline in question is a symbol that depicts the emblem of a mafia, or the logo of a rebel faction, but the skull and crossbones in this case meant one thing: This "Privateering" job in question is actually a Pirate asking for crew members. You have no idea what kind of pirate is asking for you and others to join him, but the paper in question was looked especially well-made, one would dare say it even looked official, had an imperial stamp and everything. Either he was a master of forgery, had a master forger at his side, or he had someone within the imperial courts who make these for him, need it be by deception or an inside man. Either way, this job with this particular pirate peaked your interest, and so you traveled over to the location provided on the now-annihilated paper to join up.

The Interview

Which brings you to now. You arrived at the Dark Matter Bar, a typically rancid place befitting the rest of this planet's toxic atmosphere. Whether you go directly to it, or you get yourself a drink first, you look for, and eventually find both the Captain, sitting alone in the bar seemingly twirling a straw inside of a shot glass, and what you assume is the ship you are being hired to work in through a window right behind him.

...Neither were what you were expecting.

For starters, the Ship in question did not look like your standard ship for a space pirate...hell, it didn't even look like a spaceship at all. If there was a word to describe it would be one of two words:

Nostalgic...or Pretentious.

True to its name though, it was certainly massive, looked less like a cruiser and more like a dreadnought in terms of size. But even so, it seemed...impossible to consider something that looked made of wood to be worthy of space travel, to which the captain responds to such worries by explaining that the exterior is merely a giant shell, and that the real ship, 'less impressive' as he says, was inside the shell, perfectly air-tight and ready for space-travel like any other ship.

The captain himself looked...Nothing like one would expect. One would imagine some old experienced veteran of wars who may have had all he could take of the government or society, or a 30-to-40-something pirate captain with a few battle scars, or at least someone who might be new to the whole piracy thing, but with enough of an intimidation to warrant the job or the ingenious method of recruitment.

Instead, he didn't look a day over 18, maybe 19 or 20 if you look hard enough, but still too young for someone of his position, with an odd choice of fashion to boot, looking about as out of time as the ship behind him. Not to mention his...odd personality, as one notices with his spinning of that staw in a shot glass, and his...eccentric way of talking.

Maybe it was his father, or maybe an older brother who was the captain who asked for crew members, and he was just sitting there to interview you as their representative? Nope. With a sense of honesty one might see in the eyes of the naive...or criminally insane, he declares that ship outside his Typhon, and himself its captain, claiming that "B. Morgan" was a false name to hide his real one, and introducing himself truly as Arron Marshal Falcon. (Yes, "Captain Falcon".)

You may, or may not have the urge to immediately spin a 180, walk out of that bar, and back to however you got on this planet as fast as you can, if only to get as far away from this young, clearly mentally 'wrong' human as possible. However, whether you are still hanging around despite the facts of who your supposed employer is, or trying to leave, stopped by the robots "customers" blockading the exit, before Arron points out that that isn't a very good idea...

As you may have noticed by now, this bar was filled to the brim with androids with Arron and yourself as seemingly the only life forms in here. There was a reason for this: Lancelot Prime's cities were also their factories where the workers of them all lived in. The bars here are more designed for afternoons and evenings when shifts are just ending for the day, but of course, late night drinks were not allowed so that the employees in question would not be rendered insufficient from a hangover. As such, a curfew was established for all life forms to either go to their homes and sleep, or to leave the planet and go somewhere else.

...That curfew has been in effect for more than 30 minutes to an hour now. It seems Arron somehow managed to hack the surveilance cameras and the androids, which explains their unusual behavior in blocking the exit, sneaking himself and his ship into the bar after hours and allowing you to land on the planet and get inside the bar undetected. However, he states that he can only fool the cameras on your way inside, and the moment you take a foot outside, you will be detected by them. The Imperial authority is always on the hunt for any suspicious activity in the wake of the ever-cancerous criminal underworld and the secret rebellions against the empire that seems to constantly be a thorn in its side as it has with many governments in the past.

As such, especially if you are an outsider to Lancelot Prime, they will immediately suspect that you are making some kind of shady deal with enemies of the empire-which isn't far from the truth-and will attempt arrest you on the spot for curfew breaking and conspiracy. You try to run and hide, they will pursue, or put a bounty on your head, a bigger one if you already have one. You try to explain to them what really went down and they won't believe you; nevermind the fact that you yourself burnt the only evidence of your testimony to ashes, this boy seems confident that he'll be able to get away without a trace. You must not forget that if he truly is the Captain as he claims, then he DID somehow get actual government-issued papers to get you here with and is currently remotely controlling the androids in the bar. Either he is more deceptive than he looks, or he has friends in high places.

As the Captain puts it: "A piece of legal paper, a right place at a right time, and the choice to follow these things, is all it takes to ruin lives. You likely came here knowing that, but all the same: ...Sorry bout that, mate."

It seemed there was indeed more to this boy than meets the eye, proving that he was, indeed, the very same person who called you here in the first place. Having your attention, he explains that he wants to give you a job offer. If you refuse, he states that he will try to find a way to smuggle you off without anyone noticing difficult as it may be, further cementing this boy as your only way off this planet without problem. He only needs you to answer one question: "Why are you here?" or another way he'll put it: "What is it you wanted by joining this crew?" Before giving you a chance to answer however, Arron pulls the straw out from the Shot Glass, and seems to pushed its tip on your forehead. Apparently, as he explains, the straw will serve as a lie detector for him as he seems to stare into the other hole; yet another possible sign of this boy's insanity. However, he seems very serious about that straw because if you lie to him about your answer, he seems to know it, and when you give him an honest answer, he takes the straw off and returns it to his shot glass. However, no matter what your answer is, no matter how good-natured or dark it may be, it seems Arron does not mind, and continues on with explaining his situation.

With no need to beat around the bush, he explains outright that his has a crew of several men and women currently on his ship, and originally had a few more that served as important lynchpins to the whole thing. However, those important members, for reasons he doesn't seem to wish to discuss, are now gone from the ship's crew, save for himself and someone else, and the Pirates all suffered because of it. Should you call out the oddity of this situation by asking why he can't just let THEM do these jobs, he simply says they "aren't capable" of doing these tasks, and that you'll understand when you actually see them. Should you question how your ship managed to get in that docking bay if he needed pilots, he explains he has experience as a pilot, but just barely got it here thanks to engine trouble and a lack of fuel, and would frankly prefer letting someone else take the wheel.

Any other questions regarding this situation he decided to hold off on answering, as they were pressed on time. He states this one-on-one style interview is something he is doing for all people who came to this place like you, all with the same explanation of how things are right now, all with the same question, all with the same choice of joining or refusal. You already answered the question he asked you, and so says you are welcome aboard his ship, need it be to join its crew or to be smuggled to a safer place. Your ship, or whatever you used to get here but needed to keep outside, has already been taken to the ship and placed in its docking bay.

Finally, with this information in mind, he concludes your personal interview by a promise: Join his crew, and whatever it is you want, by the honor of the black flag (whatever the hell that's suppose to mean) he will make sure you get. ...Starting with a merchant ship that he arranged to leave Lancelot Prime very soon with plenty of goods in hand. It seems Arron's key expertise is deception and manipulation, as he states that he 'advised' the merchant to leave at a set time, though he doesn't say the reason he gave said merchant. Whatever it was, it seems it made the merchant very intimidated to the point of paranoia, as Arron claims he's likely loading up some of his "merchandise" for practical use against criminals like them. Once the last potential member of his crew gets on board, The "real" interview begins for all the new members.

It seems the Captain has made this situation a quite literal make-or-break, about to backstab a paranoid merchant who just armed his ship, with a ship filled with newcomers, running on very little fuel and a damaged engine. They either pass this test, ...or they die.

So here are the rules:

1. The GM's (and future Co-GM's) word is the word of god. We may not be perfect human beings, and as such, you have the right to appeal, but ultimately, if we decide to stand by our decision, then it is ultimately final.

2. No God-Modding: A no-brainer in a site like this, I'm sure. So I'll make this short: You are not All-powerful, you are not invincible, you are not capable of destroying anything and/or everything with one blow (Permitted headshots/decapitations/disintegrations excluded), you are not capable of dodging everything thrown at you, nor are you able to perfectly hit whatever you aim at. You are not omnipresent, and you cannot control the characters of others. (Again, unless given permission by their respective owners.)

One more thing before I move on: Time/Space powers are forbidden.

3. Regarding confrontation of the OOC kind: We all want to have fun in RPs, but one or two people having a gripe with someone or something is always a possibility. Normally, GMs would say to take it outside via PMs. But after reading a heated argument from a certain RP on a different site, it's occurred to me that we are ultimately a community, and if there's an elephant in the room that must be discussed, we should do so as a community. Therefore, Personal issues with posts or people should still be "taken outside" as it were, but if you feel there's an issue that must be addressed that could be an issue for everyone here, discuss it with us. Either way, no flaming rages please.

4. Since this is the Free Roleplay section, I only ask for three things: Good spelling, Good Grammar, and No one-liners. I ask for two lines minimum. Of course, this doesn't need to be said, but you are welcome to go beyond that if you want.

5. D.S.G.S.: A signature rule I seem to always have in all of my RPs, it seems. The explanation for this rule is simple: "Causality", or to put it another way: "Do Shit, Get Shit". Remember that all actions have consequences, be they good or terrible. You make wise decisions, such as retreating from a situation you know you can't win against (If you're able/in a position to, that is.), your characters will be fine. You make stupid or simply unwise decisions in your characters' lives, such as immediately charging head-first and guns ablazing to Excalibur so that you can personally try and kill the emperor immediately, and they will be punished. The consequences of your actions depends on the intensity of how wise/unwise the decision is. An effective strategy could put the enemy in disarray, a very bad move could prove disadvantageous, or even fatal for your character.

Ultimately though, as long as you follow your common sense, you'll be fine.

Now then, a little info on the universe and the Empire itself.

FTL: The main FTL device in question is the Hyperdrive, the device designed for ships to cross through light-years via entering Hyperspace.
Shields: Shields are usually able to sustain projectiles of laser, low-to-medium grade plasma, and explosives. High-level plasma and heavy physical impacts along with excessive use of weaker weaponry diminishes the shields until the breaking point.
Weapons: All weapons are, in one way or another high grade. High-calibur rifles, laser, plasma, the works. OF course as time advance, even more advanced weaponry is possible to be made.
Robotics: The Robotics of the universe are about as advanced as one would think in a futuristic reality such as this.
Communications: Hyper-communication, or hyperdrive subspace communication.
Super materials: As the Empire expands, so too does the resources it gains from other planets. The ships created are usually considered to be classed by the quality of the materials its made from, even if that's not actually the case. Each material has its own strengths, but also weaknesses.
Mental powers?: Yes
Biotech?: Yes
AI?: Yes
Energy Storage?: Yes
Information Storage: Info is stored inside Crystal processors, as well as stored via quantum computing technology.

Next, there's not much else to add about the Holy Britannian Empire. There isn't much to the government that some hasn't seen already in a corrupt authority. However, they are massive, as is their Domain.

Their dominion over a part of the galaxy is divided into 32 systems, with several planets in each. Each system is named after one of the legendary Knights of the Round Table, including King Arthur himself, and each has their own purpose to the empire, such as being a center of trade, commerce, scientific/medical research, military, etc. The Lancelot System, for example is the center of industrialization of products for the empire to use, as mentioned before.

With the exception of "Excalibur", the capital planet of the Arthur system, the "crown system" of the empire, all planets of each system is named after the system, with an Epiphet (Prime, Alpha, Beta, etc.) added afterwards. (Lancelot Prime,) for example. However, when the amount of planets in a system id larger than the number of epiphets that can be added, they become numbers instead. The "Prime" planets are usually the Capitals of their respective systems, except in numbered planets, in which the capital planets are "Zero Worlds". That being said, the names they are given are only that, "given". All planets do have a real name that they originally had before converting to imperial law.

Eventually, we intend on showing the entire list of 32 systems that the pirates are open to explore. For now, however, it is a work-in-progress.

One thing of note for all those who are experienced Mercs and criminals: Chances are you've been to or at least heard of the 32nd system of the empire, "Mordred". As Obi-Wan stated about Mos Eisley, "You may never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." Mordred is essentially the social garbage bin of the empire. A system filled to the brim with corruption, villains, and criminals doing whatever they please. For pirates like yourself, you cannot find a better hub to gain knowledge and allies.

HOWEVER, she lost her husband in an elevator accident as well as her right leg. His family gave her enough money to get a mechanical leg in the same fashion as her arm. Then they said they would give her money to get a high ranking job but she saw the flyer and came here instead. Because she does what she wants.

Yes, and no. You don't technically need approval, but I would like to properly organize that particular sector by adding in my Captain first. Which could take another little bit due both to me wanting to make it as good as possible, and due to personal reasons as an effect of Yesterday. X_X

Appearance:
Lanky would be a good word to describe her. She has very little figure, and a sinewy muscled form. Her skin is littered with nearing at least a hundred scars from her refusal to wear any type of armor(and clothes). She can't stand tight clothes and usually wears loose or at least fitted clothes that reveal a mass of scars from battles previously won. She isn't particularly pretty, though she has a regal face.

Abilities: She has an inherent directional talent and fast flying. She's not strong, but she has a wiry-agility based strength that is useful in close combat against larger opponents. She has an unusually high pain tolerance. Lack of morality.

Personality: Vulgar. Bitter. Resentful. She doesn't have a very kind outlook on life, and is incredibly greedy. Her lack of interpersonal skills can often get in the way of her goals. She cares little for the opinion of others and thinks only of her own comfort, most of the time. Still, despite her personality, she's occasionally philosophical and can provide good conversation if she thinks the person is worth talking to.

Bio:
She grew up in an old-world port town on Earth in Northern Britannia, a mass of land once called Europe. It was a cross between traditional transportation on land, with a naval base for sea travel, an air base for minor flight, and a station for space travel. In school, she studied piloting. Her dream had been to pilot an exploration space ship.

Telasie had a regular childhood, but when she turned twenty she settled down with a human man. He only lasted two years before, in a fit of anger, she slit his throat and was locked up for murder. After a lengthy court trial and a lot of favors cashed in, the chargers were dropped to manslaughter and she was released after five years in prison. She took to thieving to pay the bills, until she got in with a group of gangsters who used her piloting skills to get her to smuggle drugs and people between galaxies. She is renown for her speed.

Personality: Mind of her own. Scrap doesn’t do well to authority but does whatever job you give her with little complaint. Opening up and trusting others comes by as a challenge. Trusting herself is all she’s ever known. Growing up in the slums and at the heart of gang violence taught her to be resourceful, but she lacks social skills. Keeps to herself but doesn’t take too kindly to those who are obnoxious or rude. Since she's also very young, she still has much to learn and is still ignorant/oblivious to this new world outside the slums
Bio: An orphaned street rat, at the age of 8, she was forced into the gang: The Junkyard Ravagers. They taught her how to fix and build mechanical prosthetics, since many members lost arms and legs to rival gang fights. Here they called her “Scrap” and it was the first and only name she’s ever had. For a while she could call the junkyards home, but it wouldn’t last. At the age of 12, an explosion at the junkyard set by a rival gang caused her to lose an arm and a leg. But you don’t leave the gang unless you’re dead. They forced her to keep working, expanding her skill set to build them lethal gadgets. She ended up building her own prosthetics since no one else would. From this point on it was when she learned that the junkyard was no home, but a prison. One day a gruesome fight with the rival gang leaves an opportunity to escape. So, after escaping the clutches of the Junkyard Ravagers, she finds herself lost. It isn’t until she stumbles upon a request to join a pirate crew did she jump at the chance to leave the slums behind.

Personality: Despite him being an outlaw he certainly doesn’t act like one. He rarely speaks unless spoken to. And when he speaks he is always polite and respectful. He doesn’t believe in honor and glory so he has no gripes against fleeing battle or fighting dirty. He doesn’t go looking for trouble and prefers to talk or run when things take a turn for the worse.

short bio: Asugan was the eldest son to a chief of one of the many tribes that roam Dagasai. His father was renowned as a great warrior and often went on campaigns and hunting trips. On one of these hunting trips he died. Mauled by a great beast. This happened when Asugan was away on a diplomatic mission to one of the other tribes. When he returned he was expecting to be welcomed as the new chief but his younger brother had taken control of the tribe when Asugan was away. Asugan was imprisoned. But the brother made a mistake in putting Asugan in the same prison as his supporters. Together they instigated a riot and broke out of the prison. Asugan fled from the planet and now roams the galaxy in search for work.

Rama stands at over 6'8" with a lanky arms, legs and neck. His body has been modified with another set of arms to give him four in total, the other two are the are larger in width size and are only a little bit longer than his normal arms, they are purely robotic, normally they sit lower than his normal arms and sit in standby straight behind him, he has many uses as well as combining them with his normal arms to make them stronger when fighting and act as a shield. His now metallic skin are coated in his favourite colours, which are crimson red, black and navy blue with white striped markings all over his face and body. The lights that shine from his body, eyes and face are blue when passive and red when he becomes angry or readying for a fight and can be dimmed if he wishes to hide better. He also has a Oni type half kabuki mask that he has hanging around his neck.

When not in his mech suit you can see his baggy clothing (shown above), his colours match that of his skin, with the dominant colour being black, the stripes on his right side are crimson red and on his left side are navy blue, the colour around him is white.

His mech suite makes him stand at 8'5" tall with thick and heavy armour covered from head to toe. The front of the suit opens up for when he needs to get inside but can be run by his AI and used as a distraction or the brunt force of his attacks. The suits colours is than his colour scheme, instead it is coloured in bright orange as the main colour with yellow trim and green for the lights.

Personality - Rama never grew up learning the peaceful ways of the Hyperians, instead he was raised by a man that called himself the Metabaron. There he learned the Bushitaka (The Bushitaka is the strict code of honor followed by the Metabarons; named after the Japanese bushido. It demands that the practitioners dedicate themselves to victory in all things at any cost, wherein the only alternative to victory is death, and even forsake their own family members in the pursuit of total victory.) He grew up to not feel pain, to be effective in both hand to hand combat, short-medium distance weapons such as swords, spears, axes, etc. and to be profficient with guns as well as a decent pilot and engineer. He can be humerous and easy going when he wants to be but he doesn't much interact with others unless they prove themselves as someone who is useful to him. His little quirk is that when he is bored he will be often spinning three balls in the palm of his hand without actually moving his fingers.

History -

Rama thought that he was abandoned as a child left on a planet to be killed by the local wildlife, but was saved by a man that he would later get to know as The Metabaron, the man was old, in his twilight years but he still looked as if he was only 40 years old. The man saved him and took him in, early on he was essentially the man's servant that would clean the mans ship, a giant base called the Metabunker. He would also serve the Metabaron and told him jokes, he was told that the man hardly laughed so when he did he knew that he had done a good job.

One day while cleaning, in a room he wasn't normally in, he triggered something and activated a robot that began coming at him with the intent to kill. Rama fought him off as best he could, but with no training he didn't stand a chance. He fought until he could fight no more and had accepted his death. Except the Metabaron made it into the room with lightning speed and killed the robot with his bare hands. He yelled at the boy for being so foolish, then asked the computer how long he had lasted with the robot. It had lasted for hours, enough so that the Metabaron himself was impressed and in a moment of thinking he was told that he would be trained in the ways of the metabaron.

For the next 50 years he was trained under the Metabaron, learning his skills in combat, science and engineering. To no longer feel pain by making him go through great acts of pain and would be punished further if he winced, cried or made any inclination that he felt pain from wounds, he was told that it would be necessary because pain distracts oneself from victory and ends in their death. He took on quickly as he had accepted that this was now his fate, he was trained in Bushitaka as well as the mental powers to train ones thoughts into a focused energy like a blade. The Metabaron could do it as he pleased cutting down mountains with the power. Rama could not perform such acts, the most he could do is momentarily see what someone was about to do before they did it as well as lift, pull or push small objects with his mind that would take a lot of focus for him to perform, he was able to move them with great speed and force though and was told it would be useful to him. He was also trained to kill without remorse by raising a small pet, only to then be forced to kill it teaching him that sometimes one must sacrifice those that are close for victory and to become cold and emotionless.

When he reached the age of 100 he was sent to a prison planet to take on the job of executioner, where he would have to fight and kill ruthless creatures, people and aliens of all races. The rule was that if he lost, the prisoner would be sent free so they all fought with reckless abandon. For the next 75 years he spent there, becoming a ruthless killer himself, taking on all manner of sick and twisted beings, some as small and nimble as small animal and some as big as some of the major structures that were in this universe. Each one were sentenced to death and he made sure that order was carried out. It earned him the nickname 'Demon' as he began to wear an Oni Kabuki styled half mask that helped filter out toxins. Whatever came his way he killed in with great ferocity, skill, speed, agility and strength, his skin became hard, his senses sharp all to make the Metabaron proud.

When he had served his time as executioner he was able to come back to the Metabunker where he had to perform the ritual act of body manipulation. He was put into a machine that slowly crushed his body from his chin down. Rama was told to tell the Metabaron that when he wanted to stop he would. The machine started to press, cracking open his skin, but he did not cry out, his muscles soon were pressed but he did not say anything. His bones began to crack and break and still he did not say a word or let out a tear. In the end it was the metabaron that stopped it and acknowledged that he had passed his training. In honour of this he was given a new body made of machine with the inclusion of two new arms. All that remained of his formal self was his face, and internal organs, he was then given another gift a helmet that was permanently placed on the top half of his face, the helmet would amplify his senses tenfold as well as his mental strength, he still would not be able to create the blades or melt minds like his master but he would be able to control small objects and move them with great force, without having to concentrate on them as much as he used to. Only his mouth was left open, he kept the Kabuki half mask and would put it on before he went into battle.

They went on many missions together, killing for hire, front line work as well as many others until Rama started to notice that the Metabaron was geting old and showing signs that death was reaching for him. He learned about the mans life in that time, how he was the last of his kind, that he had genetically modified himself to live for centuries and was at the end of that time, that he had no future plans of ever finding or having a son, but he found Rama and thought of him only as someone to talk to until his time had passed.

On his 200th birthday he was given a ship, a prototype of the Metabaron's, a ship designed to sneak up on other ships and board them quickly and effectively as well as detach from the ship as quickly to escape as well as an accompanying suit of breaching/boarding armour that was designed for him by his master, he would be able to climb into it to become one single fighting unit, or be able to act individually since it had a built in AI unit that was compatible to Rama to act as his counter. He only had to do one more thing. He was told to pick his choice of weapons which were a sabre and a gladius.

He was then told to prepare himself as The Metabaron came at him with a spear. He explained that he would not die by his mortality, that he would die to a successor now that he had one that proved so worthy. They fought for days without a break until finally by the strength and speed of Rama he was able to finally best his former master. The man laughed with joy, filled with pride and honour he died, but before he did he looked into the eyes of Rama and engraved the shape of a bird onto his chest and said that the legacy of his kind would live through him now. Rama was then told to leave the ship, to find his kind, a race called Hyperian and join them now, the ship was activated to explode. It was powerful enough to destroy him and the entire planet that it was landed on, Rama nodded in confirmation and got in the ship with his new mech. It asked him what to call it and he told from here on out it's name would be Meta.

They arrived at a location with signatures that were similar to his own and landed in hopes that he would be accepted to join them. But they refused him, said that his family were exiled long ago for defying the wishes and beliefs of their God Hyperion and that he had followed in their footsteps, tainted by the blood of others on his hands, he didn't even look like them in their eyes. So they banished him. Told him to never come back or suffer the consequences and be smited by their god.

Rama left, how could they treat him this way, he had no idea who he was or what to believe in, it put him in great anger, and in that anger he attacked whatever ships got in his way. He took whatever he wanted from those ships and quenched his anger with the blood of occupants of the ships. He was deemed a pirate and a renegade and was hunted until he reached deep space where he found refuge with other pirates. He would then offer his and Meta's services to the highest bidder, not caring who paid him or what he had to do he would do it and efficiently.

Equipment:

- Swiss Sabre: Designed to release an electric shock when activated by the user, the metal is of a make that can pierce into most metals.

- Gladius: When activated by the user the blade becomes super heated, able to cut through any metal, can only become super heated for a short period of time and can overheat.

- Nanites: Personally created to protect him, when damaged the nanites with gather materials needed to seal wounds, repair and heal his body. Can be distrupted by a large electrical charge.

- Prototype Pistol: This gun does not fire normal bullets, instead it fires mini high impact sticky bombs. That are activated when leaving the barrel of the gun and trigger when they make an impact against an object. Has a 10 shot cartridge before it needs to recharge, 1 second per bomb, 10 seconds to recharge. While recharging can convert on command into a 50 caliber normal pistol.

- Modified Assualt Rifle: A plasma assault rifle that fires in burst of 3, overheats when fired too often and needs to cool down. Also has the option of changing into a long range sniper rifle, fires single shots that are 50 caliber bullets instead of plasma.

- Grenades Sash: A number of grenades are stored in this sash, his most effective are magnetic bombs, gravitational distortion bombs and EMP grenades, can be remade by nanites but needs time to do so. Carries two of each grenade for a total of 12 (minor concussion and flash bang grenades included.)

- Helmet of the Metabaron: The helmet enhances the wearers senses tenfold, allowing site of long ranges as well as different types of vision, his hearing can be heightened to the point where he can hear the humming of electricity running through the circuits of the ship, he has the sensitivity to feel changes in pressure up to 4 meters away. These can be used against him with an opponent who is clever or innovative enough.

- Kabuki filtration mask: The mask allows him to breath in any atmosphere and filters out toxins in the case that someone were to use chemical warfare.

- Arms of Might: His augmentation allows him to use the extra set of arms as weapons, shields and for utility use. They increase his strength greatly but hinders his agility and speed when attached to his arms.

Skills:

- Minor mental telekenisis: He has the ability to only move small objects but can use push or pull them at speeds that are like a small caliber bullet. He can not read minds or influence others.

- Enhanced strength, speed, agility and endurance: His robotic body enhances him overall making him much better than an average person.

- Bushitaka training: Follows a code that is ultimately to attain victory by any means or to die in battle.

- High pain tolerance: Through training has been able to endure pain so that it does not hinder his goals in combat.

- Minor hacking skills: Able to use nannites to hack into doorways and computers, cannot use to hack into robots or more complex machines.

- Minor clairvoyance: When in a 1 meter area of someone he can see what they are about to do next, but only actions and if someone knew of this trait or dealt with before he can be tricked and doesn't rely on it heavily.

- Core power surge: Rama is able to sap the power of a core cell and by doing so gains a charge of power to himself that temporarily increases everything more than it was, the more cores he saps the more power he gains, but the surge of power lasts for only 30 seconds and will weaken him to the state where he needs to rest and let his nanites recover the strain and damage he would encounter using it.

- Designed to breach and board other ships, can act as a suit as well as a fully functional robot.

- Equipped with shoulder cannon as well as arm cannon with bladed weapons on the opposite side. The cannons can switch between bullets and plasma. In order to use the plasma cannon it needs to gather energy and takes it from the ships energy supply the longer he gathers the ships energy the bigger and more destructive the blast.

- Has two sensory drones that fly around him giving him 360 degree vision.

While the Uldrian are physically feeble species, their intellect is regarded as among the greatest. They are considered one of the most advanced races and thus hold a lot of power. Despite their power with tech, they require to wear special suits to help filter out chemicals and even the air they breathe. Their suits are top tier in regards to hazardous weather and atmospheric conditions but certainly would hold up the heavy gun fire.

Weapons: None, due to be a surgeon, he has taken an oath to not harm another person. Though he will perform a mercy kill as he believes dieing this way is much better than a slow painful death.

Abilities: Extremely intelligent, photographic memory, can perform surgery and understands the anatomy of over 100 species. He also possesses extremely steady hands, and works well under pressure due to the fact that if he fails, someone dies.
He also, like the rest of his race, has telepathy that is used to communicate as his anatomy does not allow for complex vocal patterns.

Psionics:

Mental fortification: can boost mental capacity to allow others to achieve greater intelligence and state of peace. Used to help gems off mental illness and diseases that effect the function of the brain. In normal circumstances, this ability can only help the brain ignore these symptoms for short periods of time but continuous therapy sessions of this treatment can actually cure the ilness. Primarily used in therapy sessions. Also allows him to shield others from mental invasion.

Projection: can send his mind to observe other areas for limited time, leaves his body vulnerable.

Shield: can manifest psionic energy into a shield to help protect him against small arms fire.

Stasis: can put willing people or simple organic tissue into a stasis to preserve bodily function and keep from decaying, it also boost physical capabilities and can allow one to ignore physical discomfort or pain. This is used primarily in physical therapy sessions. This ability helps negate the effects of things like arthritis, bone marrow disease, muscle spasms and other similar conditions. Simple therapy sessions can negate this issues for short periods of time though continuous sessions could lead to an eventual cure.

Personality: Varrus is a cold and calculating individual who always looks at things in a logical manner. He has no room for emotion though he cares for the lives he tends to much more than he would like to admit. Even in times of great stress, you can always count on Varrus to be the calm one. Varrus is never one to be spare feelings, if he can't save your life, he will tell you and will even perform a mercy kill if requested.

short bio: Varrus comes from a neutral planet. Due to their status, many of them have not seen the horror of war and lead a rather boring life. Varrus did not agree to this. At a young age and after was is considered the end of their mandatory education, Varrus left to see other worlds and to aid those ravaged by war. With the Empire stretching its influence, there was no doubt that many would fight back and millions would be injured. This is what allowed Varrus to become the surgeon he is now. Varrus applied to become a doctor and work under hospitals on various worlds. He has spent his entire life doing so and still continues now. Though due to illegal research into persoanl interests, he currently looks for employment.

Formless: Traveler has great control over it's physical form to the point where it could radically alter itself into various shapes for various purposes. In addition, it is capable of altering the reflection of light across it's carapace to alter it's appearance. Traveler could appear like a human one moment and a cat the next.

Durable Carapace: As a side effect of Traveler's unique ability, It can withstand potentially any blunt force it receives with little damage. This includes physical projectiles such as bullets. Unconventional weaponry such as energy-based or corrosive material would hurt Traveler however.

Stealth: Traveler is adept at making little sound and blending in with the background while stalking prey.

Weapons: Traveler's preferred weapon is itself. Whether it is forming different type of tools from it's body such as a sword or enveloping a victim and either choking the life out of them like a constrictor or digesting them with enzymes.

— Victor can fire most pistols and rifles accurately but does not rely on what he calls “throw away guns.”
— Two small shoulder mounted plasma cannons that take a few moments to charge before firing. Both pop up from seamless ports on his shoulders.
— A medium-sized Gatling laser that is confined in his left arm, no other weapons can fire while this one is firing.
— Portable shield: his right arm is fitted with a portable shield generator, this shield can block most attacks and acts like a solid wall, however it does not last forever. Can be used at the same time as the Gatling laser.

Abilities:
— Nano bot Repair: can use and control nano bots to repair both himself and over electronic devices.
— multi tool hands: his hands can switch to multiple common tools and some more complex ones.
— Cyborg Body: Victor is essentially just a brain in a shielded armored case, built to be a solider more than anything. He does not eat, sleep, or breath but does require resting and recharge every other day unless hooked up to a power source. The suit he is in can not be opened unless destroyed and is made of a strong semi-flexible metal.

Personality:
Quiet is a term one could use. He doesn't talk much unless he thinks its important and tends to be reserved and calm. Rarely will his temper flare and seems kind yet when going against someone who carries the royal sigil he can be quite aggressive and vengeful. However, most of the time one can find him in or on the ship he's tasked to making repairs and adjustments.

Short bio:
Victor woke up in a lab without any recollection of who or what he was, only that he was now going to be a solider tasked to a special group of others like him to fight the rebels where ever they may be hiding. It worked for a while, he was tasked as a “medic” and mostly just repaired the other soldiers. None of them were there on their own free will they all had inhibitor chips that prevented them from doing what they wanted and were given limited free will during combat operations.

This all changed one day when the Rebels they were perusing used an improvised device against them. This devise vaporized his squad and most of the rebels, the EMP pulse knocked out his inhibitor chip just long enough for him to remove it and his emergency transponder. And in turn allowed him to vanish from the empires' radar, now that they believed he died with his squad.

It took him some time to realize what he was and his place in the Empire. He found the most suiting work to be an engineer mostly because he could go into more dangerous areas and has performed exterior hull repairs in the middle of a ship battle before. This provided with his ability to work in extremely stressful conditions made working with privateers profitable. Yet he seemed to do these jobs for nothing more than scrap and a room, preferring the adventure to the cash.

Tserv Diaahk

Appearance:

Like all Va'che, Tserv is about 10 feet tall, but the biotech project had some lasting effects. His "rib-legs" are no more, and his tail became an abomination, that he had to part with.
He spends most of his time wearing his EVA-combat-suit, or a more relaxed travel-getup.


Without the armor Tserv has a slight bluish skin tone, a lot of scars cover his body and the exoskeleton plates can be seen in places.

Weapons:

First and foremost in Tserv's arsenal is his refitted EVA-battle-suit. It can withstand more abuse than a regular one and has more powerful energy cells. Likewise the suit has better navigational​ thrusters. Inbuilt weaponry is an electrical discharge and an EMP (the suit itself is shielded from weaker such). There are plasma-cells stored in the suit for emergency ammo or utility. The suit has a personal shield generator that sadly uses too much energy to be operational constantly.
There is a broad variety of weaponry stored on the runner, but Tserv prefers four heavy plasma assault rifles. He has also remade them for using different kinds of ammunition.

He can also attach his armored tail to the suit for short periods of time, until it overloads his nervous system.

Abilities: Skilled pilot. Trained soldier and squadron-leader. Quadextrous shooter. Nhliki martial artist. Survivalist. Decent engineer/mechanic. Nanobot-control (lets him perform self-maintenance under controlled circumstances).
Nanite-induced system-overcharge, giving him a physical and mental high, enhancing every capability, like enabling him the extended use of his tail as well as minor telepathic powers.

Personality: Tserv has no problem following orders, but he tends to do it his way, which might include ultraviolence.

Short bio:

Tserv grew up on one of the military-ships of the Gehestl fleet. He was born one among many Va'che to a Nil'che military mother. Their father, the Che'kiv captain of the ship demanded one thing from his Va'che children, that they become soldiers. And a soldier Tserv became.

Soon after he got to first lieutenant he among many others were chosen for a bio-enhancement project. A procedure that would finally break the barrier of the other Che from the Che'kiv. At first the experiment seemed a success. All participants started showing signs of a metamorphosis, but soon they started to die, their own bodies rejecting the changes. More than half of them very dead by the time anyone found a way to supress the "Shedding". A syntethic enzyme carried by biotech nanites.

Sadly, the nanite-treatments were more expensive than the potential profit from the false Chel'kiv. And they were deemed an acceptable loss. Some of them survived thanks to a degrading into Va'chel, but Tserv instead decided that if he wasn't wanted, then he would rather leave. So he rang in some favors, and made off the fleet with a ship and enough nanites to last him a lifetime.

That was 60 years ago, and during that time Tserv has made a living as a mercenary, smuggler and occasional pirate. He has learnt to stabilize his body better with a combination of the bio-nanites and nanobots of his own creation. Along the way he also had to amputate his tail, but he keeps it alive and well on his ship, as he can reattach it when he wants to.

Finding the flyer on a smuggler-station, however it had ended up there it caught his interest, and he ended up joining the crew of the Typhoon.

The Runner WIP

A small gunship that Tserv, borrowed from Gehestel when he was discarded.
She is a trustworthy ship that has gotten him through more than one tough situation.

Engine: 5 sub-light thrusters (max 25g) Manuvering thrusters aplenty (max 5g). Inertial dampeners 20g.

Energy reactor: H3 Fusion reactor, runtime of 1.000 hours (full yield). Emergency solar-panels (10% yield). Battery-crystals, runtime 10 hours (full yield, 80% charging efficiency).
Computer: Simple system interface, able to perform automatic control within set parameters. Remote controll possible. Quantum encryption.
Shields: Plasma shields. Full shielding of ship, activated use. Useful against energy-weapons, meager use against plasma- gravity- and kinetic weapons, all but useless against missiles, mines and drones. 2 generators for ship body, one generator for each wing.
Armaments: Energy-beam cannon mounted in ships prow, draws ship-energy. 5 kinetic turrets, 1 ship roof, 2 ship keel, 1 atop each wing. 6000 rounds per minute, 2km/sec velocity (30.000rounds/turret full load). Cruise-missiles, 10 kiloton yield (12 missiles full load).

Misc: Tserv considers the Runner his home, and he generally treats her better than actual people.
