Hooray, now Klaus can effectually earn the ire of Xinhua without even trying on his first day!
Also, looks like Hilda got hypnotized into having a match with Fransisco!... or was that Melody making her fearless? Regardless, my next bet is that he tries to make himself look good during the match and bed Hilda!... or something. That's my prediction. Either that, or she has to fight two of the most fearsome fighters in the academy back to back possibly.
Sup, peeps? GM was looking for new players in the interest check so I'm throwing my hat in!
Name: Paz Monserrat García Flores
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Appearance: Paz stands at 5 feet, and has dark brown wavy hair reaching to her mid-back, which she often wears in a ponytail. She has green eyes and tanned skin. She’s a little scrappy, but not unhealthy looking, and her face can best be described as “cheeky”.
Year: 1st
Rank: Novice
Room No.:
Personality: If one word can describe Paz, it would be curious- or, depending on your temperament, nosy. Paz has spent most of her life at home, and while she loves home, it didn’t provide much in the way of exploration and learning about the world. Now having a chance to do so, she’s rambunctious- she doesn’t quite yet understand the idea of “off-limits” or “privacy”. However, if she can tell she’s hurt someone by going too far, she stops pushing on that front- and instead goes to push on another.
Paz is also a bit simple. She doesn’t know much about struggle, and complicated matters are difficult for her to sort through. While she wants to be helpful, sometimes she just doesn’t know what to do. Despite this, Paz has a strong sense of justice, and acts on it fast. Whether she’s entirely justified is a bit up in the air, however, especially at times when she’s forming a strong opinion about something she doesn’t get.
Paz is generally fun-loving and kind. She enjoys going wherever the wind takes her, and enjoy it even more if others want to come along with her. More than anything, she believes in doing what’s right for people, and does whatever she can on that front.
Magic Discipline: Paz uses a form of magical quipo (look in biography for more on that) that gives her some time manipulation abilities. She’s not fully capable of using it do to having little practice (despite claiming she’s “totally got this”), but she does have some abilities currently and will likely gain more with practice.
Currently, she is capable of doing two things with this quipo. The first is creating pockets of time- if standing near the quipo, she can create a pocket of time linked to her hometown Tiempara. In this pocket (about 10 feet in diameter), she can stop or double the passing of time time for up to fifteen seconds while the rest of the world moves at a normal pace (she can try to use it passed that amount, but the longer she does the higher the chance of it going out of her control).
The second thing she can do is hold moments in time. If she ties a knot for a certain moment in time, she can revisit that moment from exactly where she’s standing at the time she chooses to revisit it. This ability has one major limitation- timing. Her ability to experience and affect the moment she captured depends on the amount of time between the event was and when she tied the knot. If she tied the knot right when the event she wants to tie the knot for happens, it effectively serves as a means of time travel (though if she does this, she can’t return back to where she previously was in time). One second off, however, and it becomes more of a vivid dream instead. If she ties the knot within a day of the event, she can see it in full for up to thirty minutes after the point she tied for. Within three days, it’s more blurred and she can only last up to 20 min minutes. Within five days, she can barely see and can only last up to 10 minutes. Within a week, she can only hear muffled audio and can only last up to five minutes. Any further out and she simply can’t sense anything.
Additionally, due to the environment of her home town, she can sense when time magic is being used near her, but can't do anything to stop it, unless she can directly counteract it with her own spells.
Equipment: Her quipo, and materials to make more- after all, she can’t cast anything without it! Along with standard schooling equipment, she has a book on how to properly tie and use magic quipo, including a bunch of spells and techniques she hasn’t tried or isn’t well practiced in.
Biography: Paz is from Tiempara, a small town on top of a mountain in northern Chile where time exists independently from the rest of the world. It's small, with only a few dozen people living there, and pretty much unheard of. However, it's notable in that the town is absolutely surrounded by quipo, and everyone there has learned to use it to some degree or another. The town was founded centuries ago by several archeological mages, who had discovered how to use quipo (an Incan system of rope tying use to keep track of numbers, dates, and potentially even stories) as a form of time magic. They used the quipo to make Tiempara into a space where time is nonexistent, and yet still passes in ways that aren't entirely comprehensible. In fact, children are often taught classes in how time normally passes, which inspires disbelief, frustration, and headaches. Paz was one of the few kids who actually did well in the class- because she was going to explore the outside world and learn everything there was to know (that’s not to say linear time is something she completely gets, however).
Paz was raised by her mother and father along with her three siblings, and her family has been living within Tiempara for generations, and they were content. However, Paz was always curious, and quickly grew out of the confines of Tiempara. She had snuck out of town more than once, and though she never got far, just about everyone in town could agree that she needed to see the world for herself. Thus, she was given the opportunity to apply to any magic school of her choice, and she chose B.U.M.
Master: Alejandra Reyes, a teacher at Paz’s school in Tiempara. She's professional and insightful, and the first one to suggest that Paz be given the chance to go out of town. Since Paz is leaving, she thinks it's better for Paz to move on to a new mentor.
If Paz was forced to sacrifice something important in order to move forward, it would be: Paz doesn't know much about sacrifice, but if there was something worth sacrificing anything for, then what wouldn't she give?
If Paz was offered to have a single wish fulfilled, it would be: To be able to explore the world to the fullest extent she can- perhaps even to discover something new.
Let me know if I need to make any changes. Excited to join!
I think a majority are still here, just waiting for the pace to pick up. Admittedly, it's a bit slow and the recent delay of my next post isn't helping, but I'm sure activity will increase once the ball gets rolling.
