@TheWindel Yep, Distortion can only be used on ally moves, and as for Reverb, it doesn't increase the effects of attacks, more like makes certain ones repeat themselves (think echo effects). Like if one of Gaia's flower bombs went off within the last few minutes, another explosion could happen, Allegra would just have to time it right.
@TheWindel I'm thinking two or so might be best, also I think I'll take out the bit about Reverb working on enemy attacks, that'd be more difficult to time, and her techniques are supposed to be about coordination with allies.
@TheWindel@KoL The new and improved(?) Yurei, turned to the dark.
• Appearance:
• Title: Tsumi • Emblem:Once a cute crown sitting up top her head, it had transformed into a blackened, starred, laurel wreath. No longer able to shift forms as her untainted counterpart once did. • Divine Arm: Twisted with the magic that turned her; her pure, white gloves focused their power into a beautiful rapier. Infused with her twisted magic, it strikes sharply against the souls of her opponents. Phasing the world around it to expose itself to the core of any being. • Magic: Now split by darkness, her magic has corrupted as well. Infecting the souls of her target instead of saving the body that protects it.
Exposing Vulnerability: Rather than phasing out others to keep them from harm; Tsumi's attacks strip away all defenses laid on their target. Letting each strike divide and part the magic and material that oppose it from striking its true destination. Creating an opening that allows further strikes to pass though unhindered.
Denied Love: Her magic leaks out through her strikes. Suspending the reformation and repair of all wounds she causes until her loose strands of magic dissolves away over time.
Decaying Touch: By mixing her magic with those she touch, she can make others more susceptible to the effects of other magics, diseases, and ailments. Compounding the effectiveness and duration of everything also afflicting the target.
Of Two Souls: No longer changing form to please others with herself; Tsumi found a link connecting others with her. Able to latch her magic onto others she finds similarity with to create a telepathic bridge she can communicate across. Reading their thoughts and speaking her own into them.
Wings: While her manifestation of her magic was always weak to begin with; now tainted, its almost nonexistent. In place of her rather weak powers, she gained wings able to carry her though the sky at will. While not attached by bone or flesh; they are more physical than spiritual. Easily cut apart and clipped with enough force, only to have to be restored over time.
Corruption: Tsumi's spirit is one that darkness was thrust upon. Her magic unable to cleanse the darkness from herself, it changed to keep the balance within her. Canceling out every magical effect with an equal and opposite force to the best of its ability. Heavily dampening the effects of magic placed upon her.
• Background: Tragedy struck one night during Christmas break. While the loss of others is sometimes expected in their line of work; sometimes fate can grant life crueler than death. Following a murder of her more experienced kin, Alara met face to face a girl unlike, but similar to, her friends that did what they could to keep the nightmares off the streets. A girl stronger than all of them, possessing a magic like no other. A magic that dug itself into her soul and twisted her very heart and everything she held dear.
Elaborate on Exposing Vulnerability. Are you saying she can strip away the magical layer of a Magical Girl to expose their human flesh? Elaborate on Denied Love as well. Does her strikes work in the same way as Exposing Vulnerability? Same with Decaying Touch. The next two are fine and acceptable. Finally, elaborate on Corruption. Are you saying any magic doesn't work on her or she can't be purified easily?
• Name: Asai Hashimoto • Title: The Seamstress, though she was once known as The Quartermaster. • Age: 16 • Emblem: A tattoo on her chest, specifically an orange heart just below her diaphram. • D. Arms: Back in the pre-corruption days, Asai boasted a nice backsword with a long ribbon tied at the hilt for extra flair and style. After the corruption, though, the blade became much more powerful, with it making the transition from being your standard magical backsword into a badass whip sword. Sure, it's normally impractical to an insane degree, but we're magical girls! It's all fine! • Magic: Pre-Corruption, Asai's magic focused around healing and buffing. Originally, she was able to heal and support friends and herself quite easily with AoE spells, strengthening spells, and defensive spells. After the darkness seeped in, though, the magic turned sour, but was still very powerful. Asai gained only one real modification to her power at the cost of her healing, but it was enough to give it quite the increase in viability. (All buffs must be applied by an ally offering a sample of their flesh to Asai, who can easily put it back on when the duration is up) - Healing, both AoE and Specific - Cannot be used since Corruption. - Defense Up - Magical and specialized, Asai requires a sample of someone's flesh in order for the spell to come into effect. Depending on how much flesh is offered, you can receive up to three times the amount of defense you would usually have, and minor offers can give up to 1.25 times minimum. Duration of buffs last five minutes max, one minute minimum. Cannot affect an individual with multiple buffs at the same time. You only get one. - Strength Up - See above. Same parameters. - Fleshweaving - Asai can put beings together out of stitches, skin, and body parts, effectively making them her minions sewn from the remains from others, and has become obsessed with it.
Somehow, when being sewn together, everything just kind of works. Beings can even have four hearts and one lung and survive, though not for very long unless the lung is massive. There's also no limit to how many minions she can have at a time, though she heavily prefers to just have one large minion outside of experiments. She can also modify existing bodies and rearrange their organs and allocations of body parts, so she could totally put your heart on your elbow exposed to the world.
Asai can even put body parts on herself and remove them, but why she would want to is anyone's guess.
• Background:
Let's get the boring stuff out of the way early. Asai wasn't anything special at all. Standard grades, comfortable household, and life for her was just that. Life. Though, that was the problem. While she didn't have a spectacular life, she had bullies, and quite a few of them. After the first couple of times getting beaten up, though, she got used to it and eventually got the bullies off her back from purely being boring to hassle and hound all the time.
The real catch, though, was her love for animals and life. She was obsessed with helping others out, even if they were insignificant ladybugs. She would kill to become a doctor or vet sometime, and always got giddy whenever she was able to go play with puppies and animals just out of surgery and such. It was her passion, and she loved it. This love of life was what would eventually draw attention from a certain mascot, who gave her the offer to become a magical girl, which she happily took without a single doubt in her mind.
She was the Quartermaster, and everything was great. She started to shed off her uninteresting personality and began to blossom into a more competent girl, both as the Quartermaster and as Asai Hashimoto. She absolutely loved it, and when her mom got her a puppy, it unofficially became her sidekick. It was the best pupper that Asai ever had, even if it was the only one her family had ever owned.
But with her life getting more interesting, the bullies came back to start trouble. When they got their hands on that dog, they decided it would only be appropriate to try and traumatize the poor girl by beating the everloving shit out of the dog until it struggled to breath, couldn't walk, and actually wished for one unspeakable thing more than anything else. That would've been bad enough to know about, but the bullies forced Asai to watch the entire process. From the first punch to the legs being broken, nothing was spared.
She was broken, and the cracks allowed for the corruption to sink in.
In a desperate attempt to preserve the life of the dog, Asai's magic kicked in as she grabbed the animal and moved it to a pet graveyard. After doing a series of gravedigging for some decent limbs and parts, Asai got to work, trying to fix the animal in a desperate attempt. While it did work, the patched-up pooch didn't survive for much longer than an hour before it keeled over and died for good. While that'd be enough to break someone, it changed Asai. She found out her true obsession in life, which just so happened to be her fixation on combining life.
A little time passed, and an offer to join a specific club at Miso City High was extended her way.
• Inventory: Nothing of note. • Sample Post:
Squeak. Squeak.
Asai sat in front of a bunch of books placed in various positions to make small little enclosures, the hamsters inside each enclosure wading through the carpet like it was a thick mud. Poor things, they couldn't help their legs being small and useless. It was endearingly pathetic.
Squeak. Squeak.
With a single reach, Asai grabbed hold of one of the hamsters before shushing it, placing a finger up to it and calmly observing it as the small rodent chomped on the finger, leaving trickles of blood falling from the hand. Aww, poor buddy. It had to bite in defense of what was guaranteed to happen. Ouch, another one. It really didn't want to get the rag, huh.
Squeak.
Asai held the tiny animal up to the chemical rag as it quickly nodded off, going limp in her hand as she grabbed the other hamster from it's enclosure and did the same. Everything was prepared for the experiment, now. The animals should be able to wake back up from this, she didn't use that much chloroform.
Squeak.
Oh, one of them was still awake? She couldn't have that, now, could she?
...
It was time. Asai grabbed hold of her trusty needle and thread before prodding one of the hamsters with it gently. Yep, still full of life. That reflex was enough to tell. She double checked everything she had. Her suturing needle was sterile, her area was clean, and her thread was... sparse? What?! She had just refilled her supply! Oh, this will never do... ugh. She checked her drawer for any more thread that she could use, and sighed loudly after realizing that there was no more thread to be used. Ugh, annoying. Where did she put that new thr-
Honk honk!
"Shit, the bus!" Asai muttered under her breath. Quickly changing out of her Magical Girl outfit, she placed her hamsters back in their home before darting down the stairs, kissing her mom on the cheek, and running out to the bus. Thank God the bus driver always waited for her. She could run her experiments later, she supposed. There wasn't anything stopping her from doing it, anyway.
• Other: Asai has dreams of making the ultimate flesh golem, though that dream is currently kind of hard to achieve right now.
Sorry for double posting. I wanted to get this done but I didn't want to edit it into the first post in case it was overlooked by anyone.
I await for you guys to nitpick everything wrong with it.
A shift in perspective from a original form, which was much less warped in what the perception of a caregiver should be, Now her form is something a little more tyrannical in appearance, and the healthcare she gives reflects that. Her original form is so lost to her she simply cannot describe it.
• Name: Hana Julia Delia • Title: Metatron although 'The Doctor' also suffices. • Age: 17 • Emblem: Emblem takes the form of a semi oval shaped eye, hidden beneath a bandage, supplanting her original eye which was the loss of (as a result of a gruesome injury) was the trigger for her transformation, It was originally an eyepatch but then became her eye after it was driven in. She covers it with an eyepatch to hide it. Even in her regular form, where the emblem takes the appearance of a glass eye, she still does her best to hide it via hairstyle.
Likewise her transformation now fully gives her a full nurses outfit as a result of her corruption
D.Arm: Infinite Weaponless World: A bodybag that she can summon at will.
The Bodybag is effectively an infinite space of storage, and yet seems to contain an infinite amount of items too, restricted of course that none of them can conventionally be Conventional weapons. Essentially the Bodybag functions as an infinite supply of items that cannot be regarded as combat based, items which she can pull from her person similarly from anything that can be regarded as a 'pocket' The Bodybag can also be used to temporarily imprison individuals inside of it, making use of a long chain that wraps and drags targets inside. But this doesn't really do any injuries and thus is impractical against combatants. But can be very useful for hiding unconscious or even dead individuals. But not really that good for hiding people that can simply jump back out again.
A special thing to note is surgical items do not consitute as 'weapons' due to them having heavy connotations as helping people. • Magic: Gates: Allows her to produce gates into and out of the bag at random points within her immediate vicinity, be it to pile an enemy under a hail of scaples. or to procure an item while on the move. Or even to transport a ally to her position (by exiting through the mouth of the bodybag) The Gates are a very versatile magic.
• Background:
Though she remains cryptic about what caused the cracks to form and the resulting corruption that followed as a result. Her comatose sister might be a very big indication of what she did. Considering her Sister was on her death-bed prior to her current coma, perhaps this nurse decided to abuse her power to avoid losing the one thing that kept her going, perhaps completely out of selflessness, but the selfish intent would continue to eat away at her until the time she fell...
Either that or she just wanted an excuse to experiment more. Its hard to tell.
• Inventory:Considering what her item does it is safe to say her inventory is huge • Other: A doctor armed with an object that's bigger on the inside and has a british accent, how particular.
The healing doesn’t much make sense for her current state. She can be a healing light girl in the past, but it wouldn’t remain post corruption.
The strength and defense buffs seem random and out of place without an explanation to why she can use them. Is it her magic? Her D.Arm? That said, her Fleshweaving seems fine enough. Is there a limit to how many creations she can make?
With her original form “lost” to her, does that mean she’s always transformed? Is her Emblem and her D.Arm one and the same? I’m not sure how to feel about that so just make them separate for now.
The constitutions to what she can summon with her D.Arm are very vague since anything can technically be used as a weapon. Saying that it must be classified as one feels like potential for debating what is and isn’t a weapon so I suggest putting better phrasing and making it more clear. Right now it’s too vague.
Her magic also needs to be clarified since technically any Magical Girl can avoid death so long as their Emblem isn’t involved.
