Isabeau was certain of two things. The first was that in spite of her kicking and screaming and punching, the man who carried her off of the glass coffin did not buckle, did not even slow down, as if the attacks of both physical and aural variety had no effect on him. The second thing she was certain of was that Yuna seemed different in person. Isabeau hadn't actually met Yuna before, only heard descriptions from her mother and footage on the spheres. It was probably not good for any of them that her voice was stern, sounding angry, or maybe it was confusion.
Isabeau made an attempt to speak, opening her mouth, but the black haired girl spoke, seemingly off in her own world, and then things got strange. A blinding light filled the room. Isabeau covered her eyes with her arm, turning her head away from the source, letting out a shriek of shock and fear. Just as soon as the light shined, it vanished and suddenly Isabeau felt warm, felt comforted.
Her eyes darted from Yuna onto the new, ethereal fayth with whom Yuna was speaking. Isabeau inhaled when the fayth nodded at her, her eyes open wide - facial expression locked in confusion. And then Yuna, tears in her eyes, addressed Isabeau, with news that came as a shock to the girl.
"Yes...Leblanc is my mother...but...wait..wha...wha..what? Summoner? Wait, no, no that can't be right...there ARE no more summoners...no Sin...no summoners. Eternal Calm..." Isabeau stammered out, the confusion making her voice shaky and stuttery. "How can I...How can I be a summoner?" Isabeau looked at her palms. They looked the same as they ever did...but somehow she knew that what Yuna said wasn't a lie, and if anyone would know it would be her. What Isabeau didn't know was why. Why her, why a summoner, why now?
One thing was for certain though. Isabeau looked towards the red haired girl and raised a finger in her direction.
"I TOLD you I wasn't an outsider!"
It may not have been the best time for such a boast, but it helped Isabeau feel more comfortable given the situation.
