Just believe, CorruptedShadow! I know people will be posting soon. Jest is handling several other RPs at the moment, and Sin will be posting when they feel the spark. As for the others, we can only believe, but I don't doubt them. We have a really great cast and I am more than excited to be RPing with you all.

Even so, how about a little incentive? A peek into the future of the RP? Everyone interested?

Good!

We have officially decided on our roster of Disney worlds!! Now, everyone may not be immediately pleased with our roster, but I ask you to trust us. This is the lineup that we feel will deliver the best experience to you and be most conducive to strongly thematic role playing. The worlds that will be included are:

Treasure Planet- Montresser Spaceport- A marvelously advanced, crescent shaped-space station filled with cutting edge technologies.

Frozen- Snowfall Reach- An icy world of magic and wonder, the world of Frozen comes to life!

Atlantis- Lost Empire- The hidden world of a forgotten kingdom, holding yet-untold secrets for those who are brave enough to look...

Toy Story- The Toychest- A world that will work a bit differently than the ones listed above! Anyone remember The Hundred Acre Wood in the Kingdom Hearts games? The apprentices will enter a Toychest found on the Montresser Spaceport to explore a world of toys!

(More information to come soon about each world! In the next couple days this and the additional info will be added to the OP, so keep an eye out!)

My apologies to those of you that wanted The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Emperor's New Groove to make an appearance. Sadly, not all of them could make the cut, and we didn't base our decision on votes alone. Trust us when we say this roster of worlds will be more than satisfactory!
Now that your engines are all revved up, let's see those posts people!! You wouldn't want to disappoint CorruptedShadow now would you?!

As I told Kurai-Sensei, I'll try it post as soon as I can. but Time-consistency is not something I can promise right now. In addition to the RPs, I just finally got my data for my Novel back, so that's priority I have to consider as well.

Don't worry, Corrupt, I don't abandon RPs once I enter them. :)

Also, I'm a little disappointed that Sword in the Stone wasn't available. But I'm satisfied with what we got. ^_^

*Is seriously picturing Kotaro having friendly Chatter with Long-John Silver.*

and we didn't base our decision on votes alone.

Then what, may I ask, was the point in voting in the first place? At the very least explain why there will only be four total. The Disney stuff is what made me interested in Kingdom Hearts way back when the game first released, so just cutting out most all of it out feels weird to me. If it's just going to be a bunch of made-up worlds then I won't feel very inclined to care about any of the people living there.

And before someone decides to accuse me of being butthurt about Notre Dame, then let me just say that's not the point I'm getting across. Yes, I'm disappointed, but rather than just use that to start an argument that will surely not end well, I am instead simply voicing my curiosity as to the GM's logic in this decision.

How is Disney stuff being cut out? The worlds Kurai listed are all based on those Disney movies as worlds in KH are. There's probably only going to be four (Disney) worlds because I (personally) don't think the RP will last that long. There's only so many reasons we'd need to jump around six or so worlds. It's different in the game because there's Heartless to slay, bosses to beat, and story progression to be made, whereas this RP is moreso centered around the Light & Dark Masters & their Apprentices, so there's no need for extra focus on Disney worlds. In a slow-moving RP such as this one, so many worlds isn't necessary, in my opinion, at least.

It was mostly Kurai's decision on what worlds we would visit in the RP. I kinda sat that part out for the most part. But the reason for there being so few is pretty much as Sin just said.

Hmm you know, Maybe two more worlds could be added as principles of Light and dark, The dark side visit Castle Oblivion to try and use the research there but are attacked by Data Copies of the entire Organization XIII including Xion. When they come across Xemnas Data copy, he proves to be too powerful for them to handle so there Master comes in to save them.
As for Light side, why not destiny Island?

Double, your concerns are valid. The vote was to gauge how everyone felt about each world; if no one voted for a particular world that we felt would be good, even if we really wanted to add it we would look elsewhere. Sadly, the converse is not true. Just because some worlds got good votes does not mean they'd be automatically included. I was the one who compiled the final list of worlds, Wayward just accepted it, so if you're going to be upset with someone be upset with me. I didn't feel like The Emperor's New Groove or The Hunchback of Notre Dame fit with the themes we were trying to convey, nor did they offer much wiggle room creatively. When I tried to think of Emperor's New Groove, admittedly a favorite of mine, all that kept popping back into my head was Pride Lands... but with llamas. Haha, that's an exaggeration of course, as I'm sure there are other ways to take it, but it just didn't feel right to me.

So, that's what it boiled down to. What feels right. I'm sorry if you felt the vote was superfluous, and in a way, maybe it was. We used it to trim possible worlds rather than elect them. Perhaps I should have been more straightforward with what the vote constituted. If you notice, all I said was that Wayward and I would take the votes into consideration, not that they'd be the end-all-be-all of the RP.

Lastly, yes, Sin hit the nail on the head. If this was an expansive RP with more than eight participants and posts coming in multiple times per day, we'd have more worlds. That's just the bottom line. Jest and I discussed this at length as well via PM. He wanted to have more worlds and I wanted less. I don't see the reason of adding worlds that we'll never visit during the course of the RP just to add more "Disney stuff." If you notice, that isn't exactly the focus of the RP. We are focused more on our characters that, yes, hail from original worlds. The Disney worlds will be visited as part of the story, and a rather large part at that, but if that isn't enough for you then maybe this isn't the RP you're looking for.

If anyone else has any questions regarding the world selection, please feel free to ask. We are always open to these kinds of things and we want to be as transparent as possible with our players. Again, I will ask you to trust us on this. The world selection we have chosen will suit the RP very well. However, you don't need to trust us blindly. If you have questions or concerns, please voice them, like our friend Double did.

1. I didn't say "all", I said "most". Pretty big difference.

2. That's a rather pessimistic way to plan a game, if you ask me.

3. Birth By Sleep was the same and yet it found a way to make it work. Ergo, that excuse doesn't hold water.

So let me pose one question. If this is a "slow-moving RP where many worlds aren't necessary" then how, if I may, is there still room for a pointless mini-game centric world like Toy Story? From how it was described, the Toychest is pure filler and could easily be cut in favor of something else. Or just cut entirely if, as you say, we have no need for so many worlds.

Mike, that is a rather creative idea, and thank you for sharing it. However, something that we had wanted to do with the RP was not re-use any worlds that had previously been used in other Kingdom Hearts games. That said, we will certainly take the idea of having two worlds as priniples of light and dark into consideration (though that's sort of what we were aiming for with the starting worlds, Old Bastion and Fallen Jungle).

Double, I feel like you're arguing out of anger here, rather than actually trying to prove a point. Your initial point was that you wanted more worlds, right? Well your last sentence is passive-aggressively stating that there's no need for even four, "if, as we say, we have no need for so many worlds." Which is it? Are you looking out for our principles, or are you arguing for your own? Or perhaps you're just trying to poke holes in our logic rather than proving your own?

Yes, it's a slow moving RP. You've seen it yourself. The IC has been up for two weeks and we have only 15 posts. You're up to post, in fact.

The Toychest was not going to be filler, but rather a whimsical addition to lighten up a rather serious roster. The only reason I made the allusion to the Hundred Acre Wood was because they would be accessed similarly. I'm not even sure how a mini-game centric world would work in an RP, but I can assure you that isn't what we have planned. It will be a normal world, a little more lighthearted than the others, that is accessed in a similar way to the Hundred Acre Wood. I just thought it would be fun to do it that way since it seemed like a good nod to the games.

My last statement was requesting for proof of your logic, with no relation to my own. My own logic hasn't changed, I still wholeheartedly believe that four worlds is too few, especially with so many players. The universe will seem very cramped in that scenario.

And since I can already tell someone will ask me to offer proof of my argument first, then fine. My proof is seen plainly in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. Birth By Sleep was a game with a very similar setup to our own, a story centering around apprentices and their relationship to a master. And yet, there existed also a satisfactory number of Disney worlds to keep to the Kingdom Hearts formula. If Birth By Sleep can do it, then I submit to you that we can as well.

But if there is no rebuttal anyone is willing to respond with, then perhaps you are right and this truly isn't an RP for me. In which case I will gladly and respectfully take my leave.

Well I consider Old Bastion and Fallen Jungle as starting worlds or hubs if you will, my idea was kinda like a final test or something along those lines. Evidence that the Apprentices can be consider masters of the Keyblade. Hell Maybe is those two worlds is the key to stopping the main villain or to increase powers to their Maximum level

For the sake of not adding anymore fuel to the fire, I won't make any comments regarding the debate between Double and Kurai.

@Kurai: I do have one question, if only out of curiosity... Considering the Themes you mentioned you wanted them to be related to in some way, (Which I assume is the theme of education from Master to Apprentice) Why wasn't the Sword in the Stone selected? It seems like a perfect fit with the theme, and, well, As the Toychest is technically sub-world (A world within a World, *Will hang the first person who makes an inception joke*), I believe we can make due with one more.

@Spike: ...Not a bad idea at all actually. ...Kurai-Sensei, Wayward-Sensei. ...May I have permission to work with Mike on this idea?

Technically, you did. Regardless, I never said that you said "all," either. I'm aware of the difference between the two words, no need for an attitude.

Birth by Sleep, from what I know of it (still need to finish the game), has an extensive amount of information and general Kingdom Hearts backstory to go off of/connect to the other games. We don't. This is essentially an entirely new story within the Kingdom Hearts world. Although this RP may have the same idea as BBS, this isn't BBS.

Not really, it's being realistic. Do you honestly expect this RP to last so long that we need a long list of worlds to visit for no noted reason? I'm not cursing this RP to crash and burn down the line, just from my experience, many RPs don't last for 1000+ pages chock full of posts. Considering how many posts are made IC per week, I'd say my statement holds some value. Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, it's just how it is.

The Jest said

From what I remember from Sword in the Stone, there wasn't much to it besides the dungeon(?) and scariest villain in any Disney movie. Not sure there's much to do in there? I guess Beast's Castle had the same kind of thing going on, though.
I'll have a post up sometime tomorrow.
