Heather decided she needed to move, as the boat got underway. She wanted to get somewhere where knocking Yami over wasn't going to happen, seeing as that may ruin her plans. She smiled and told Yami she wanted to quickly stretch her legs... a rather pitiful lie really. As the boat began to move, she rather clumsily stood, trying hard to keep her balance as the ship began to sway with the ocean.
"Ok... there has to be somewhere to sit down... or something to hold onto or-" the boat gave a sudden lurch, most likely catching wake from another ship. Heather, caught completely off guard, tripped rather hard, and tried to catch herself with something, blindly flailing her arms out for anything... and did catch something, another person specifically, a member of team FRST. Heather dragged whatever she had caught down with her, slamming onto the deck hard on her back, then being hit by whatever she had pulled down with her. It smelled like a wet cat... then Heather realized she had just dragged Sapphire down onto the deck with her.
"Ohmygod, Sapphire I'm sorry... I uh... just didn't" Heather managed to stammer out.
It had not been long since Sapphire had entered the ship with Fern and Rust, soon separating from them to go her own way. She had finally managed to dry herself when the ship lurched, sending Sapphire grabbing for something. Suddenly, before she could get a grip on a perfect handhold, she felt something, or someone, else pull her down. Squealing as she landed, feeling the remaining damp of her clothing clinging to her side, she realized that a deer Faunus landed on her. It took a moment for her to recognise Heather, but when she did, she held her hands up.
"Hey, hey, it's alright," the cat Faunus replies.
"This is better than falling into the water."Heather attempted to get off as quickly as possible, standing rather uneasily above Sapphire, almost seeming like she would fall over again, before she managed to get a hold on a nearby railing. After steadying herself Heather offered her hand to Sapphire smiling through her blush,
"Heh.., I uh guess that's true... I'm uh still sorry..." she saw that Sapphire's clothes were still damp and clinging to her, and reflexively smiled a bit,
"I see that your still damp from your little spill... are you alright? I sorta... fell on you after all."The other Faunus responds with a quick laugh as she takes the hand of Heather, pulling herself to her feet and clinging onto a nearby railing in case the ship rocked again.
"Heh, yeah. I'm okay, I think," Sapphire responds.
"Just... Just..." She put both of her hands over her face.
"I don't want to be on this ship! I want to be off of it! What if it sinks? What if water just floods inside?" She suddenly blurts out, her tail swinging around behind her.
Heather went from smiling to not as quickly as Sapphire had gone from collected to terrified. Heather glanced around, looking for anyone to help her deal with this... Sapphire was far from ok on the ship. So, with no one to help her, Heather let go of the railing and hugged Sapphire, it was all she could think to do!
"Oh this is dumb! Your invading personal space and she's freaking out-" Heather looked at Sapphire before taking a deep breath, and fixed Sapphire with a calm look,
"It's... It's alright... your alright Sapphire you're safe... after all I'm here aren't I? And so is the rest of PYCH, and Rust and Fern and Tillian... we... we wouldn't let something like that happen, we're... we'd keep you safe... if your still scared you could always just... stay near someone... so if something like that happened we could help you... I'm sure that Tillian or Fern would be fine with that... or uh me I guess... but if you really feel scared just... yea" Heather felt incredibly weird, she hadn't ever had to support someone like that before... she sure hoped she had done the right thing...
Sapphire's thoughts filled with Tillian once Heather mentioned him, and she wondered if Heather knew that had broken up, and that he was sort of mean on occasion. She started to take a few deep breaths, just to control herself a little as she tried to forget about the water.
"In... In that case, it'd have to be you or Fern," The worried cat replies, wrapping an arm around the deer girl. Sometimes being younger paid off, as she got care like this.
"D-Did nobody tell you? M-Me and Tilian broke up."Heather let out a sigh of relief when Sapphire didn't immediately freak out when she got hugged, ok good move then. Her comment that it would have to be her or Fern confused Heather more than a little bit, last she had heard... oh dear... Heather had made a mistake. Her look of confusion was replaced by one of utter embarrassment,
"Ah! I'm uh... wow sorry I didn't... no one told... I um... sorry, how long have... oh dear," Heather started babbling like she did sometimes when very surprised or nervous, and she felt like she had just committed a MASSIVE faux pas, whether she actually had or not,
"Um, then I mean yea you could stick with me... or or... I could help you find Fern or... oh I'm REALLY sorry I had no... I mean you seemed like... I just don't," clearly the deer Faunus had rather severely lost her train of thought in her babbling... someone needed to stop her.
It was Sapphire's turn to squeeze Heather into a tight hug. It was a bit awkward, and looked more like a younger sibling hugging an older one, but it was still a hug.
"Heather, it's okay. Sometimes, we make presumptions, and sometimes those presumptions are wrong, however everyone can make mistakes," she replies.
"He was a jerk anyways. It turns out he was just playing it out all along, acting it out for his own amusement." A single tear ran down her face, but she was quick to wipe it away.
"Sometimes, I think the reason he is such a jerk to me is because I am probably a jerk to him. Ever since we broke up, he's been coaxing me into being annoyed, and I do follow up with being annoyed. Sometimes I think it's because I always just express my annoyance with him generally." Sapphire shook her head clear of thoughts, looking up to Heather.
"Sorry for rambling. Do you want to do anything?" She asks.
Heather was caught off guard by the sudden squeeze, and it did serve to stop her incessant babbling. She looked down at Sapphire, listening as she talked about why she wasn't with Tillian anymore, seeing her wipe away the tear that rolled down her cheek as she recalled clearly painful thoughts. Heather frowned,
"I guess this is one of the advantages of social ineptitude... harder for people to hurt you since they can't get close..." Heather pushed her depressing thoughts to the side and considered what she wanted to do at the moment,
"Well... I could eat honestly *growl*, er I mean I probably SHOULD eat, but I understand that seems pretty boring soIcompletelyunderstandifyou'drathernot..." oh god, lost it there at the end Di great job... she paused before she could go into babble mode again, and took a deep breath,
"I mean... not alot to do on a boat after all." she said without realising what possible consequences may occur.
"You know what, that sounds like a great idea, Sapphire says, a wide smile on her face.
"In fact, I know something that always makes eating better, as it gives us something to talk about as we eat." Sapphire taps the side of Gemtra, which was in it's idle form, before returning her hand to the railing. I am probably a jerk to him."We could always have a match. You versus me."[/color]
The deer girl smiled at the smaller girl,
"Well... I guess the ship probably has like a cargo hold or something... we could spar there if you really want to fight that badly! But uh... I'm gonna need your help getting there..." Heather blushed as she gestured to her unstable footing. With Sapphire's support though, they managed to make it to the cargo hold with virtually no accidents. On the way there Heather had avoided bringing up Tillian again, not one to make the same mistake twice. Upon entering the cargo hold, Heather found it was a bit easier to stay on her feet as it was more like the center of the ship... and she guessed they were out of the dock wakezone by now. As they looked for a space large enough, Heather eventually got fed up. She found several large crates, and one by one picked them up and moved them, they were quite heavy a clanged loudly upon being set down... Heather hoped she hadn't broken anything. After moving eight or nine boxes she had cleared enough room for a proper fight. She smiled then turned back to Sapphire,
"Ok, a few rules. One, no semblance use, we are sparring and I don't want to wreck the ship... that and my semblance might suffocate us. Two, try to avoid putting a hole into the walls or floor... we are basically at the water so we have to be careful not to sink the ship, I'll be pulling my own hits as well. Third... uh... I don't know... have fun?*sigh* Alright, tell me when your ready." Heather bent her knees, her left hand on her Kanabo's hilt(or the uchi's hilt if you looked at it that way), her right hand out for balance and ready to draw, her combat stance taken she waited for Sapphire to make the first move.
Sapphire tried to wipe the thought that they were in the middle of the open water from her mind as she paid attention to the rules.
Well, she better not make me cry, else there probably will be a problem, she thinks to herself, as she places her hand on the grip of Gemtra.
She made no rules about ranged attacks, Sapphire grins, having failed to hold it back.
"Okay. Five. Four. Three."She whipped up Gemtra and fired two shots, allowing the weapon's gem to crack and shift into it's defensive form, still allowing herself to be able to fire more shots as she ran forward.
"Good luck!"She almost didn't catch them in time, but Heather just managed to swing her Kanabo to block the first two shots as they collided with the large club. Heather threw herself to the left to avoid the opening salvo, ordinarily she would have attempted block but she was to unsure of her own footing. As soon as she was back on her feet Heather was strafing striaght down the left side of the rapidly approaching Sapphire, hurling herself at the smaller girl when she got close, swinging
Malice in a massive horizontal arc from her left side, attempting to force Sapphire to either take the hit or break her charge.
Spotting Heather on the move, Sapphire turns to open fire again, however she realized that the deer was moving too fast to fire at. She starts to spin the six sides of Gemtra to make sure she has plenty of defense as she pulls back. Unfortunately, it started to go wrong, as she stumbled and almost fell to the ground.
"Stupid ship," she mumbles, trying to bring Gemtra back to bear.
Heather smiled, her scarf covering it though, and pressed her advantage. She lunged again at Sapphire, but to increase the speed of the attack she drew the Uchi during her lunge with her left hand, swinging the white blade right at Sapphire's midsection
Sapphire gasps as she notices Heather pushing in, and rolls to the side to try and dodge the blade, meanwhile transforming Gemtra into her main offensive form and trying to swing it, using the roll as momentum.
Though the blade barely missed the rolling Sapphire, Heather did not stop her assault. Though the swing from rolling carried momentum, Heather could see it coming, using the short Kanabo already at her side to block the blind swing, then, turning the Uchi to be held like a dagger in her left hand, and bringing it down into the rolling girl... but her footing was off and a slight slip meant the blade wavered a bit as it fell.
Sapphire gasps as the blade hits her, and quickly responds by thrusting her palms up to try and shove Heather up, simultaneously sliding away from her to gain distance.
Heather grunted at the hard shove, it got her in the gut, but "first blood" was hers... metaphorically. Heather needed to keep the fight close, and wasted no time, sheathing the Uchi, turning back to a full Kanabo and charging the still prone Sapphire with an overhead crushing swing, slower than it would be normally as Heather had to keep balance.
Sapphire saw this attack coming, and quickly brought Gemtra to bear, holding the blade with one hand and the hilt with the other to block the
"Good try!" she grunts, kicking her boot upwards, aiming from the groin or anywhere low.
Heather had thought that Sapphire might block the attack, and Heather smiled at her little taunt,
"Alright Di, what next? Alright I'll ju-" suddenly Heather wasn't able to form rationale thought, and experienced some of the worst physical she ever had. She then realized that Sapphire had kicked her in the... in the... crotch... Heather's knees buckled inwards as she started stumbling back, no longer able to keep her balance well. She swung the Kanabo clumsily and weakly in front of her, not able to bring her strength to bear.
Sapphire grinned as her attack worked, however it faded away as a clumsy hit from Heather impacts her. Thankfully, it wasn't very powerful, and just sent Sapphire into a daze for a moment, but she quickly starts to get to her feet, stumbling. She stares at Heather before swinging at her.
Heather was still in a lot of pain, as it had now spread further up her body in the fallout of the kick. She tried to raise her weapon to block but was unable to make a stable block, and Sapphire's hit dashed Heather to the floor.
Sapphire takes this opportunity to jump up and leap at Heather. This was a big mistake as the ship rocked slightly from a wave and she was sent flying onto the ground instead, hissing at the vehicle.
Heather groaned as the ship rocked beneath her, she felt like she was gonna throw up. She heard Sapphire hiss on the floor, and decided to make a move... or try to. She dropped
Malice as she could hardly use it effectively in her current state and threw herself at Sapphire, attempting to use the weight and strength of her body to fight through the pain and tackle Sapphire.
Sapphire squeals, dropping Gemtra as she sees a flying Heather flying toward her. She holds up her arms to defend herself against the heavier girl. She hisses quietly as she attempts to punch at the deer Faunus.
Heather took the hit, it hurt... but she was in alot of pain anyway. She grappled Sapphire around her back and brought both of them into the floor, using her weight to hopefully knock the wind out of the smaller girl.
The cat Faunus lets out a breath as she is knocked to the floor with the deer, and she begins to slap and punch, as well as defend, though is quite weak due to the hits she had taken. She sucks in half a breath as she holds her hands up to defend some more.
Heather took the hits, any not hitting her face or stomach largely being absorbed by her armor. Heather does not try to punch Sapphire, instead grappling her around the back again once the hits stop coming, and beginning to squeeze. She puts all her strength into what is essentially a very aggressive bear hug, and just manages through panting and pained breaths to quietly say,
"Yield."Sapphire began to lose her breath, trying to punch Heather, her hits getting weaker and weaker until she is trying to tug Heather loose instead of punching her.
"Can't... Breathe..." She says, trying to reach for Gemtra with one of her hands.
Heather spent all her might, all that she could muster through her pain and the barrage of Sapphire's hits. The smaller girl started running out of steam, then Heather heard,
"Can't... breathe..." and decided that was as good as a yield, and relented. The hug relaxed incredibly, though it didn't exactly end as Heather's fingers got caught due to her gauntlets. She fell back panting hard, the pain from her crotch finally starting to subside.
Sapphire started to suck in breath as quickly as she could once she was released, though with Heather still on top it was a bit hard to do.
"That," She pants,
"was fun." She gave a little giggle, laying back and panting, a wide smile forming on her face.
Heather was still panting, she looked at Sapphire's face, far closer than she had expected it,
"You... *pant... kicked me... *pant*... in the...*pant* crotch... it was... *pant*... really fun... *pant*, she managed to smile, but couldn't help but notice how close they were, their noses were almost touching.
Sapphire's face went red as she also noticed the distance between their faces. "S-Sorry," she pants, allowing a tiny giggle to escape her lips. "It... *pant* Must have... *pant* Must have hurt." Her eyes flickered up to Heather's, just for a split second before breaking away again.
Heather grimaced a little when Sapphire mentioned the pain,
"Yea... *pant*... You have... no idea..." Heather gave a crooked smile at Sapphire's giggle, then noticed her eyes. They were so... blue... and then she saw them looking back at her... her panting sped up again, she was flustered, her face flushed with red. She could feel Sapphire's breath on her mouth... Heather didn't think about anything as her face slid ever so much closer to Sapphires, their noses touched, but Heather hardly seemed to notice, unable to look away from Sapphire...
"Sa... Sapphire... uh... I... she couldn't speak, the words caught in her throat, whatever they were, and all she could do was stare at Sapphire, her nose and Sapphires touching, her breathe catching in her mouth, no idea what to do.
Sapphire did not realize that it was possible for her face to go any redder, but it somehow managed to as her and Heather's noses touched.
"Y-Yes... Hea... H-Heather?" She asks, her voice unintentionally a shy purr, as her eyes slowly rise to meet her's again.
Heather locked eyes with Sapphire again, and for Heather it held for what felt like an eternity, lost in Sapphires eyes the color of crystal clear water... and then she kissed her... it wasn't anything major, no tongue, nothing heavy, just a kiss... but she held it there, her and Sapphire, their eyes open for a moment, then Heathers closed as she kissed Sapphire... then she pulled away, ever so slightly, their lips still nearly touching,
Uh... ummmm... uh..." she was no longer able to speak as she waited for Sapphire to scream or push her like she expected... but hoped wouldn't.
Sapphire's eyebrows raise a little as she is kissed, but soon they lower, as well as her eyelids, her arms wrapping around the deer Faunus.
"Heather..." Sapphire purrs, her heart thumping in her chest as she does so.
"W-What on e-earth did we just do?" She asks. Instead of a glare, or anything else that would usually come with that phrase, all there was was the innocent smile on Sapphire's face, and the glint of affection in her eyes.
Heather's eyes fluttered, she didn't yell? She didn't push? She kissed back? Heather almost couldn't speak at all,
I... no we uh... it... we kissed... an I thi... think I... uh... I'm uh... no-not hungry and... you... kissed back? I... enjoyed... you?" Heather stood up, picking Sapphire up to her feet with her.
"So... you... not mad?" she stood looking at Sapphire, still quite red in the face.
"N-No. No, you pretty thing," Sapphire replies.
"I-I'm... I'm not mad. I'm happy. The purring cat Faunus gets onto her feet, cuddling up to Heather with a smile.
"Shame we aren't in the same team," Sapphire comments, before her eyebrows raise.
"What are we gonna tell our teams? Should we tell them? Do you want to tell them? I'd feel bad not telling them what I've been doing," she bites her lip.
Heather looked confused, she had no idea what the right answer was,
"Uh.. well I suppose it'd be... truthful to tell them but... couldn't it cause um... problems in... FRST? With uh... him?" she didn't want to say Tillian's name for fear of making Sapphire cry again,
"So... maybe we um... wait? Whatever you.. uh... really want... I don't want you to... be upset..." she smiled at Sapphire, hoping she had said what Sapphire wanted her to.
"I... I think I'll tell one person. I'll tell Fern. I'll send her a text about it. About... About us." Sapphire could not help but grin.
"I wonder if she'll care more about us, or that I lost," she adds with a wink. Her tail swishing behind her, she then asks,
"So... W-What now? It's a bit late... Want to find a cabin?"Heather smiled at Sapphire,
"I think... that is good... I uh... I'm tired so yea.." After that, with Sapphire, Heather made to leave the cargo bay to find said cabin, before she though about something and turned to Sapphire,
"So... if you tell Fern... am I allowed to tell Carlin?... She is my partner on PYCH so...""Sure thing," Sapphire says, smiling.
"Fern's my partner anyways, too." As they walked to find the cabin, Sapphire very shyly takes the hand of Heather, squeezing it gently.
Heather squeezed back, and couldn't stop smiling. They moved down the ship's corridors until they came to the cabins, finding one not in use and unclaimed. Heather entered first, she started removing her armor, she set it gently on the ground, then removed her boots, She hadn't brought her scroll, but decided she would use Sapphires after she had messaged Fern. After she had done that, Heather waited for Sapphire to get into bed first, before getting in behind her and wrapping her arms around the small cat Faunus. She smiled as she began drifting off to sleep, happy to have someone she connected to so closely.
The smile didn't disappear from Sapphire's face as they walked through the ship and into the cabin. Removing her boots and then her jacket, Sapphire climbs into bed, cuddling against Heather as she began to type a message to Fern.
Fern, if you're wondering why I ain't bunking with the team, I may have... I may have gotten into a sparring match with Heather... Long story short, I lost, we kissed, we are in love, we're sleeping together. Sleeping in the literal sense! See you in the morning!
Please don't tell the others. After sending the message, she turns her head to Heather.
"Hey, didn't you bring your scroll?" She asks, presuming she hadn't considering she wasn't already messaging Carlin.
Heather shook her head, still almost to stunned with everything to speak,
I must have left it at home... but it's alright, I can get one at Patch... but umm... can I use yours for now?" she asked, smiling at Sapphire.
"Of course you can," replied the younger girl, as she places her scroll in the hand of the older.
"H-Hey, H-Heather... I... I um... I love you."Carlin, this is Heather Di, using Sapphire's scroll. I left mine at home I guess and this is sorta important. So, won't be bunking with you guyz tonight... I'm uh with Sapphire and... well I fell over earlier when the boat moved and sorta landed on her... later we were sparring then... uh... I ummm... sorta kissed her and... ahe did it back and now I'm with her and... don't tell Paris or Yami please... not yet just... keep quiet pleaseHeather finished sending the message and placed the scroll on the floor near the bed, as their was no desk or table or anything. Then she heard Sapphire's confession, and looked the younger girl in the eyes,
"I uh... you... um... I lo-love... you too... and hugged Sapphire close to her, wishing she could stay like that for a long time.
