I wonder if it would be possible to get a treasure through the course of the RP?...would be fun to play around with.

I'm guessing that indeed is a possibility. After all, the maximum amount is three, going by history, and we can only start with one...but then again, it sounded like they were supposed to be super rare items that instantly boosted their wielded to the ranks of high-tier Chasers, so who knows?

There, made the edits I needed to for Lucille. I'll still wait a bit before posting her in the characters tab.

that's kind of what I was wondering about. Quite a few chasers seem to have them, and that's the same impression i was given....but well, Suppose I could have asked xP

I'll possibly begin thinking up some things for Kat, just for fun.

and now off to bed with me. My thirst for watching/reading fictional characters be emotionally tortured as been filled, and I can rest easy tonight knowing I am a horrible person~ xD

Well, right now, there's 4 treasures.
Shiranui, the lightning generating sword
Airgetlam, the soul-reaping left arm.
Monkey King's Staff, the staff that should be extendable, but grants Qi manipulation stuff instead.
Small Pocket Mirror, the soul-stealing...mirror.

One of them belongs to a GM character, two are pretty central the character's whole theme, and the third serves more as a power-boost mechanism than a combat thing...though I'm not sure about the utility of the third, cause it's pretty easy to make someone look into a mirror and then murk them.

There are 12 characters submitted/accepted in total, discounting Aria, who appears to be more of a NPC for plot-progression. This means that 25% of the cast have treasures, which is still not THAT bad, all things considered. Only problem, of course, is this phrase.
These items are by their very nature extremely rare and to posses even one is the mark of powerful individual

But then again, I guess we're playing exceptional characters (or to-become-exceptional characters).

Why did I do all this? Because I need to kill time for stamina refill.

And KOL, a question about this.
most of them gained their other abilities when they were sent there by accident, or dragged there by one of the Crimson Sky's inhabitants.

I'm assuming that one of the exceptions to this is being naturally born with special powers, but are there any exceptions on the other side of the spectrum, in which an ordinary person who goes into the Crimson Sky doesn't gain abilities at all? And is the ability to cast magic something that can be gained after one goes into the Crimson Sky, or is it merely something to be learned?

Ok, here goes some basic maintenance before I have to go out:

@CorruptedShadow

I won't give opinions on WIPs, please finish your character before submitting him again.

@Bombardier

Most of everything is ok, but I want a better description of Tarit's power, as it is you make me think he's a borderline Railgun (if not more) and that's way above the power level I most people have. Even if there's two electricity users around, I want some distinction in your portfolios, so please describe him a bit more.

@Scarifar

# 01 Looks good, you can post him on the character tab as well.

# 02 Why would you skim over the second post? It makes me question what you've been doing. Either way, Treasures are as @rechonq explained. Any more information can be asked IC, since there'll be a lot of lore related to these things.

@rechonq

Looks good as well. Though, I gotta say to everyone with these seemingly one shot one kill powers, that unless it's a mook, you'd better ask before saying "Yay, I stole your soul, you die..." and then complain when I say a flat no. I really don't want that type of problem to happen, so play by the established rules.

@Queue13

For your first CS, it's rather reasonable. You can post her on the character tab as well. Character development is what you should concentrate on from now onward.

@Rune_Alchemist

It's indeed possible to acquire (and potentially lose those you didn't begin with) Treasures during the course of the RP. As I said above they will have a significant role on the story, from the very beginning, indeed.

@j8cob

If you've checked the details with @TheWindel, then you can place her you can place her in the Character Tab as well, there's no need to dilly-dally.

@Ashifili

Naturally, you're all playing characters that are above the standards, even for Chasers. Even if every PC had a treasure, it wouldn't mean that every Chaser as one, just that your characters are that usual anime-like gathering of OP individuals (which is pretty much what they are).

That said, I'll elaborate on the matter of Treasures from the first IC post onward, since it's a kind of focus right now.

As for the other question, most people born with power naturally fall under the definition of an ESPer, or psych, pretty much anyone else would gain powers through Crimson Sky induced mutation. Which is pretty much like the Silver Age of comics radiation, you most absolutely can't come near it without being turned into a Bug-man, or Raging Giant. That said, only special individuals undergo this mutation, so, there's the possibility of not changing (though it's a death sentence to enter the Crimson Sky without powers, since a good deal of the Youkai are flat immune to even the strongest handheld weaponry).

Also, no, Magic is an exception, since it's about learning to manipulate your Spirit Power and use it to do otherwise impossible feats, you can't gain it through mutation and not everyone can learn it as well. Notably Psychism and Magic shouldn't mesh well, Aria is one of the sole exceptions to that (as well as any PC that can do both), but normal NPCs can't as a rule of thumb.

Hm...alright, KoL, can I add simple magical spells to Rui-Ling's skillset as well then? With the idea that he can supercharge those by feeding them souls too.

What power level should we imagine our characters at then? Something like the human Masters in Fate? Like Level 3 Misaka soldiers?

And in regards to Youkai's firearm immunity...is it because they're spiritual beings, meaning that all purely physical attacks are useless against them, or is it because their durability is simply beyond that of, say, sniper rifles and such?

So, what's this I hear about starting with treasures? :o

If its not too late to have one, I was hopping to propose having one for the sole purpose of mobility. Like an earring or hairpin that conjures functional wings of sorts.

As for the Youkai, they can still be harmed through magic or physical objects under the sway of magic? (Such as a mobile Venus flytrap monster)

Seeing how treasures are supposed to be reality-breaking tools, I'm fairly certain you can just get a magical spell that allows you to fly, if you want to go do that.

That's not really a good explanation, but I'm not gonna call the Spanish Inquisition for that. Carry on.

Well, we'd have to go over said spells, since Ling is already a reasonably powerful character. Nevertheless, there's nothing disallowing you from learning said magic IC.

For power levels, I'd say it's around that of a decent to powerful mage of the Nasuverse (think Cornellius Alba, Lord El-Meloi, Rin, etc...), or a Flame Haze like Margery, Shana, or Wilhelmina. To place it more or less on scale, Kiara @TheWindel's character is about as deadly as Ryougi Shiki (as long as she's not on her 3rd persona, that is).

I'd say that Ling is about as dangerous as Shirou on the Heaven's Feel route, for example.

That varies from Youkai to Youkai, some are literal steel walls, that aren't even tickled by canon fire or such weapons, while others can regenerate from virtually any damage. Of course, there's those who are as resilient as a human as well. It's really a lottery, whenever you pick a foe you don't know. That's the fun part of it, right?

So, what's this I hear about starting with treasures? :o

Well, I won't say that you can't get one. However, we'll have to reevaluate your Character in case you do any significant alterations and, only until you make your IC post. After that I'll be keeping tabs on any changes to keep the story consistent.

Seeing how treasures are supposed to be reality-breaking tools, I'm fairly certain you can just get a magical spell that allows you to fly, if you want to go do that.

Actually, magic to fly is rare, pretty much one of the few individual who can do that is Reiko, but she's the World's Strongest Mage, which really doesn't put her on the same level as everyone here.

Sincerely, it's as easy as writing what you want, though a legendary basis is much welcome. If you know about Shakugan no Shana and the Fate/Franchise you should have a gist of how to do that.

Otherwise, you can rest assured that a few will pop IC, so you might snag one that strikes your fancy, when you come across it.

New Artifact: Legendary Ballpoint Pen. A ballpoint pen of mythical origins, capable of writing on most forms of paper-like substances with a dark blue ink. When one double-clicks the clicker, however, it will splotch ink out the ballpoint with enough volume to ruin whatever cursive sentence you were writing at the time.
