Personality: Understanding machines a bit better than people, she expects a lot out of everyone she meets. In a way, Tryke looks for perfection, and attempts to create it in her own life. When perfection is impossible (as it normally is), she becomes quite angry, throwing herself at the problem until it is solved--no matter the mental strain. Everything has to follow the rules of logic and order, and failure, certainly, is
not an option.
However, from her immense drive comes some better qualities: resourcefulness. Clever and able to look around the obvious, Tryke can come up with ten options where most people can only think of five. She is always looking for another way around an obstacle, and sometimes, she prefers the clever way to the easy way. Every possibility is thoroughly examined, and she's a skeptic at heart. To her, anything can be thought out logically -- and when it can't, there's a fuse about to be blown.
Habits: Wiping her forehead when her hands are covered in grease, oil, and such; chewing on pens; zoning out when people are talking; tapping her fingers

Your First Walker Encounter: Tryke had been at Cal Tech for less than a year when they received warnings on the news to stay at home, and if needed, evacuate the area. The university, to say the least, was sending mixed signals. She stayed in the lab, fondly called the "garage" with her research team, continuing to work on building more effective robots for retrieving samples on distant planets. They hadn't made very much progress, and naively, they figured the disease would be eradicated quickly.
It wasn't. They remained inside the garage for a month, and one of the engineers, Layla, got a bit crazy being cooped up inside. She ran outside, only to be greeted by a hoard, and Tryke rushed after her. They both narrowly made it back inside "the garage" and were entirely bewildered, hardly comprehending what they had just seen--walkers.
History Before Outbreak:Tryke's great-grandparents were prominent scientists, conducting research on the terraforming of planets. They were never able to obtain a grant or funding, causing their ideas to largely die with them. Tryke's grandfather kept all of the schematics and research in the attic, and when her father and mother were moving out after their wedding, they found all of it. For a pair of science-fiction lovers, and having majored in Film and Television in school, they decided to adapt the schematics into a movie. Three summers later, it was a blockbuster, and made the newly formed Lockley family rich.
Less than a year after the movie release, Tryke's parents were already hard at work on the sequel. They had outlined the protagonist of the movie already, a pilot named Trillium Brite who uncovered a criminal conspiracy amongst the Venus settlers. They were so absorbed with the character that by the time Tryke was born, it was the only name they could come up with. And so, they named their daughter after the movie character.
The second movie wasn't nearly as popular as the first, but the Lockleys managed to sell the rights to a television company, and it was then produced in forty minute episodes, lasting for six seasons before its cancelation. Tryke grew up accustomed to her parent's fame, and since the name Trillium Brite was a little hard on the tongue, they shortened it to Tryke.
Her childhood was fairly normal, aside from the fact that she went to Comic Cons, and every so often, fans would think of her as the character from her parents' stories, rather than an actual person. It only served to nurture her stubborn and independent nature, and by the time she finished high school, she was accepted to M.I.T. to study mechanical engineering. More nerds were in the dorms, and at this point, her past had become a bit of an annoyance. She graduated at the top of her class, showing a natural talent at robotics, and then applied to Cal Tech for grad school.
History Since Outbreak: After seeing the hoard, the group of ragtag engineers and physicists began to take the situation seriously. They had enough rations (beer and assorted snacks) to last them through the end of the month. They did their best to get by, even modifying their robot to perform the simple task of leaving the garage, but it wasn't able to do much. It wasn't able to retrieve food for them, until about six months in. They were practically starving, having reduced their portions and becoming emaciated in the process.
But once their group project was able to head to the university cafeteria and grabbed some more rations, they thought they would be okay. And they were, for about another three months, until they were discovered. Not by walkers, but by people--people who ended up burning the "garage" to the ground. Tryke was the only survivor, narrowly able to escape with a few supplies, and hop onto the nearest bike she found.
On the back of a motorcycle, she drove as much as she could, putting as much distance between her and Pasadena. Stealing what fuel she could for the bike, she repaired it over the years, slowly making her way in no direction in particular--and oddly enough, this turned out to be Georgia. She fantasizes about setting up a mine field one day, and sitting down in the middle on the singular safe spot, but for now, she rides her bike from town to town, taking what she can, and then moving on to the next place.
Character Quote: "I can fix just about anything."
Theme Song: Almost Human - VoltaireHow Many Walkers Have You Killed: 5
How Many People Have You Killed: 1
Why: They attempted to loot the house Tryke was hiding out in. She had rigged it so a live wire was left in water. Long story short, it really
shocked them.
