Team Scarlet
Scarlet let out a pained whimper as TB’s staff made contact with her already tender wound, but looked to be doing her best not to drop him. She stepped back into the house, red eyes filled with pain, but still didn’t let go.
Reaper’s shadow claws wrapped themselves around the giant tigresses’ front paws, as well as Tank jumping up and beginning to pry her jaws open. Unsure of how to deal with two threats at once, she backed off, allowing TB to escape but quickly succumbing to Reaper’s shadow tentacles tugging against her weight.
Scarlet growled and snarled at Tank, attempting some weak jabs and getting in some scrapes with her claws, but not much else. She was clearly hurting, but doing her best not to show it.
Turn Back, meanwhile, had scrambled to his feet and backed away from the massive beast. Something didn’t feel right. She hadn’t attacked him, per se. And the noise she’d made when he had hit her didn’t sound like an angry one, if Animal Planet were to be believed. Looking at her now, he had a sneaking suspicion that she wasn’t really fighting…
“Step back!” He called to Tank as he rushed forward, trying to shove the huge man behind him. He looked at Scarlett, hopefully out of her range and reached out to the side, dropping his staff with a clatter. He avoided looking her directly in the eye, a tactic he’d learned growing up in the slums; and crouched down. Maybe, just maybe if they tried to show her they weren’t trying to hurt her she’d listen… And if not, Turn Back was pretty sure he could take the hit.
During the fall Levi caught himself, but took some minor injuries, particularly to his abdomen, but he chose to ignore it for now as he was only disoriented at best. Who would have known that wood was an insulator and didn’t get along well with electricity? Levi assimilated the information as much as he could, it seems, or at least
looked like Scarlet Shifter was injured by the wound on her shoulder. And what looks like Turn Back putting down his weapons to attempt to alleviate the situation since it seemed like Scarlet Shifter wasn’t intrinsically looking for a fight, it reminded Levi of a cornered animal. Following suite he released, Albeit reluctantly, the clutch of his weapons- Kukris and they dropped on the floor with a pang, raising both his hands at elbow level slightly above his head.
Girard while continuing the grapple realized just in how bad of a shape Scarlet was in noticing very little in the way of resistance. The tigress could have easily done more struggling but wasn’t but the big man held slight reservation about letting her go. He had been trying his hardest to not hurt her further in the meantime, just hold her in place really while avoiding the weak spot on her shoulder, but when Turn Back and Levi both threw weapons away he figured it was for the best and he helped to gently set Scarlet back down. Looking at TB he just hoped the smaller man didn’t end up losing something over this or at least getting a pounding in his newer more vulnerable position, and with that the big man backed away to give them space.
Reaper was far more reluctant to drop her shadows from around the great tiger’s paws, especially as she had tensed with each weak swipe the red and white cat did against her bindings towards Tank. Yet as each of the men of her group became submissive the vigilante just sighed. They already cornered an injured animal and aggravated its wound, why not just make it easy to eat their faces now too? With a little huff Reaper’s fingers unclenched and she dropped her arms to her side, the claws disappearing similarly from around Scarlet’s paws.
After Turn Back had shoved the large vigilante away, the large tigress seemed to stay fairly docile. Slowly standing back up, she glanced around, at TB’s dropped staff, and now Levi’s abandoned Kukris. And slowly, the fur and teeth and claws receded, leaving the red-haired girl in it’s wake, her entire left side drenched in her own blood. She knelt on the floor, a hand over her wound, body shaking.
Turn Back rushed towards the rogue, dropping to his knees and skidding beside her. He reached out to steady the red-haired girl and whispered to her. “I’m sorry, Scarlett. I panicked, I thought you were going to hurt us. I didn’t realize you were just trying to get away.”
Scarlet took in a few shaky breaths, flinching as Turn Back moved to steady her, tensing at his touch but ultimately allowing him to attempt to bandage the wound. She didn’t move to look at him as he apologized. “My powers… nghf.. Activate when I’m angry,” She wheezed, eyelids drooping but snapping open once more. She was clearly struggling to stay awake.
The lithe vigilante pulled off his hoodie, leaving himself in a black shirt underneath; lamenting at the torn hood before ripping it down the front and giving it to Scarlett, trying to make a makeshift bandage for her wound.
Levi had the idea to cauterize the wound with his powers, looking- rather, glaring at Scarlet and her semi-dressed wound,
”The bleeding looks bad, and from personal experience, it’ll get worse and most likely cause an infection.” he stated to her, lifting his left hand to let a short pulse of dull electricity upwards
”I can cauterize the wound, it’ll be extremely painful, but will close the wound and stop infection. Basically I have to burn your skin with my powers.” Levi’s confidence in himself being able to properly do this process hinted at his frequent use of it himself, and possible reason why he made it this far.
The shapeshifter slowly glanced up at Levi. “..Sure.. shoot lightning at my body.. Why don’t you..” She hissed, voice filled to the brim with pain.
“Don’t use a dirty hoodie for that, Turn Back. And don’t offer a painful alternative yet, Lightning Bug,” Reaper finally rumbled, moving around Scarlet in a large circle so as not to approach her from the back. “Do you guys really not carry proper supplies around?” The last part was mostly under her breath even as her hands went under the large hoodie she wore, seeking out something specific amongst the swimming folds. Finally she withdrew a small first aid kit that was pressed against her stomach, already unzipping the bright red cloth and retrieving a moist antiseptic wipe to open.
“Promise not to maul my face off? I’m rather fond of it,” The quip was rather half hearted as Reaper came within striking distance finally, kneeling as well and trying to shoo Turn Back’s hands away so she could start cleaning and dressing the wound.
Girard turned his attention to the rest of the team attempting to fix up Shifter while really having nothing to contribute. It wasn’t that he didn’t know first aid but it would be a stretch to say it was practiced given how hard he was to injure in the first place. What did occur to him was that they should get moving as soon as possible what with all of the noise that just got made if Umbra’’s men were on the way they would have a good idea something was up, plus the mold and trash made for a less than clean place to treat a wound. Of course the little clean up wasn’t going to be enough for something like that and most doctors either wanted nothing to do with supers or the supe in question would get found out soon than later.
“Once you get that done we gotta get moving, I’ll do the carrying if necessary, but all that commotion is gonna bring company but quick.” Tank said from his own personal experience looking a little fidgety.
