  • Appearance: She has black hair, red eyes, and very light, pale skin. The school female school uniform, which is is wearing, has a cream-colored vest with a white shirt, red bow, and dark blue skirt. She has black thigh-highs. Tsukimi is around 4'9 or 144.78 cm.
  • Personality: Tsukimi is, outwardly, a somewhat shy girl who has trouble with new people. She tends to dislike crowds, as well. She's also a very studious girl, focusing a great deal on her schoolwork and frequently spending time in her room studying, occasionally with a few others who form her small number of close friends. What these close friends could say about Tsukimi is, well... while she might initially be shy, she has quite a temper. Tsukimi complains about others who bother her in various ways, and her grouchy attitude can often cover up her shyness. She's prone to insulting others who annoy her and vocally complaining about them. To their faces. Shyness can only do so much to hold back annoyance, after all. She is also very easily embarrassed, and dislikes when her cat ears are touched(they are a no-touch zone. In fact, the state of being a catgirl is also rather embarrassing for her, but she is unable to reverse it. She likes fish(she did before she was a catgirl shut up) and is afraid of deep water(before she was a catgirl too!). She takes a lot of pride in her capability as a mage, and indeed works very hard in order to advance her skills. Tsukimi is indeed quick to talk about her skills as a mage in training, provided she's among people she knows. Or if she's able to get over her initial shyness, really. Tsukimi is also a somewhat jealous person. That is, she gets jealous of those who are more, well, mature then she is. She's not likely to directly admit what she gets jealous about, but a lot of irritable glaring tends to be involved.
  • Abilities: Tsukimi's focus in magic is on offensive spells. As a mage in training, she does not yet have any real mastery, but she is competent and an excellent student. This, of course, carries over into her spellcasting. Among her spells are Strike Aura, a direction beam attack that fires from a magic circle that can be oriented in different directions, Spark Blade, a sword formed purely from magic that survives only for a few blows, Revolver Shooter, a series of small magical bullets, and Spark Barrier, a barrier spell that defends her from attack for a short time. Her currently catgirl nature grants her excellent hearing and higher-then-average reflexes, but also makes her vulnerable to catnip.
  • Skills: Tsukimi is quite capable when it comes to preparing Japanese food, though her cuisine from other nationalities is lacking. She's not very capable physically even with excellent reflexes, however.
  • Brief Backstory: Tsukimi was not born a catgirl. She was born the totally human daughter of the totally magical Hayakawa family. She proceeded to be totally human and totally magical for most of her life, including her eventual enrollment at Ishikawa Academy. It was in her first week of school that she ceased to be fully human, however, when a witch girl decided she was totally the best person to try a new appearance-altering spell out on. And then tried it again. And again. And again. After this steady, repeated spell exposure, the final time left Tsukimi permanently as a catgirl. Much to her dismay. She still doesn't know how to reverse it.

  • Race: Doppelganger--which is either a race or a very extended family with a peculiar ability, people aren't entirely sure. The only thing that differentiates them from normal humans is the ability to change their appearance, which has its own limitations without greater magical ability to, say, actually make themselves lastingly stronger and fitter.
  • Appearance: Generally this. As a whole, Sora tends to prefer being small and out of the way, which is why her general height hovers around 4'7 to 4'9.
  • Personality: Despite, or perhaps because, she can look like anything, Sora is shy. Frustratingly shy, with difficulty holding a conversation until you've spent weeks talking to her... and don't surprise the girl too much. If she's drawing or reading, this is very easy to do, since she's liable to get absorbed in what she's doing and blissfully ignore the outside world. Strangers tend not to realise that she's actually having difficulty speaking to them, though, because she's not the most expressive person ever.
  • Abilities: Obviously, Sora has the ability to alter her appearance, which she's rather reluctant to do in public because she only recently learned a spell that sizes her clothes to fit. She's also rather wary of messing with the structure of the eye, so she wears glasses rather than trying to fix that herself.
    Given that to not mess up with often-changing sizes she has to have a good idea of judging sizes and distances, it is perhaps unsurprising that Sora has an avid interest in magic involving physical dimensions and teleportation. Consequently, she knows the aforementioned clothes-adjustment and two teleportation spells: one is strictly line-of-sight and only about the size of the room... the other she has no idea where she'll end up and often uses entirely on reflex when startled. She's ended up on the roof before.
  • Skills: With her main hobby aside from reading being 'drawing', Sora's got remarkably good art, though her ability to put together plots is terrible--fortunately, when she decides to draw manga of some description, the plot is generally not important. Given that she can actually model how she wants characters to look, it's easy for her to get appropriate references.
  • Brief Backstory: As a child, Sora had a few awkward... accidents resulting from her ability and lack of clothing adjustments, which probably contributed to her difficulty in getting on with people. Fortunately, she got over her caution about changing at all before attending Ishikawa, making the note on her application about not relying on photographs to find her in classes actually relevant.

  • Appearance: Now drawn! Still blonde, still red-eyed, still pale-skinned, and with a lot of black, white, and red in her clothes.
  • Personality: Rose has a reputation. Those who have not spent much time at Ishikawa, or have never seen her, may believe she is absolutely terrifying, a nightmare teacher who almost seems ready to eat her students if they step even slightly out of line. The reality is, well... she's not exactly the most threatening-looking person, is she? Rose possesses a razor-sharp, sarcastic wit, and often finds time to mock or deride her students in a playful, teasing manner. In spite of this verbal harshness, she is also the type to play fighting games with a student, or chat in their free time. She does, however, enjoy playing herself off as a terrifying, threatening vampire, which may have lead to her reputation. Rose is also easily bored, which may explain why she takes so much interest in the lives of her students. After all, it preoccupies her quite well. She is, in fact, viciously defensive of her students(though she will likely not admit to this fact). She can be prone to somewhat childish behavior in spite of her vast age and experience, enjoying sweets even if they don't fill her up and sometimes showing childish frustration when something doesn't go her way. Rose can be absolutely nightmarish when truly fighting, and has a haughty, confident attitude when in combat. To be fair, she has a haughty, confident attitude at nearly all times. Finally, rumors circulate that she will sometimes drink the blood of other faculty members, and sometimes even students(obviously not enough to be dangerous in both cases). She does not confirm or deny this, but she does need to drink blood to survive.
  • Position: History Teacher
  • Abilities: As a vampire, Rose can regenerate from most bodily harm. Indeed, anything that does not destroy her heart or brain is healed effortlessly. She has a strong allergy to onions and holy items, however, which can leave her totally incapacitated. Sunlight will not harm her as of now, but extended exposure can make her feel dizzy and nauseous, and therefore she prefers to use a parasol. Natural or magical sources of running water(shower good, river bad) can also leave her powerless aside from her healing abilities for several hours. She must also drink blood for survival, as nothing else nourishes her. She can vampirize others but has no reason to do this. Rose is extremely strong, easily outpowering a grown man, and outrunning him as well. Her catergory of magic revolves around lightning. As a very, very old mage, she is extremely powerful, and one of her preferred spells is a semi-solid spear of lightning that forms out of the palm of her hand, which she can even use manually as a weapon, or fire at a target.
  • Skills: Having lived through a thousand years of it, Rose is quite knowledgeable about history, magical or otherwise. She is also remarkably proficient at hand-to-hand fighting. Rose is also very capable of making tea, though tea made for herself tends to have a certain... extra ingredient.
  • Brief Backstory: Rose isn't exactly open about her past, aside from living for a very long time. It's quite likely 'Rose Vermilion' is not her real name, however.

Appearance: She's 5' tall, making her slightly below average for her age. And yes, she wears suits when she's not required to wear the school uniform. Because she thinks they're cool.
Personality: Mizuki's fairly upbeat and pleasant to be around most of the time, if a bit subdued. She's generally happy to at least try to hold conversation about most subjects, even if it does sometimes lead to her just nodding and smiling through most of what's being said. She is a massive nerd, having brought a large amount of manga, her personal computer and at least one gaming console to the academy with her. She has a fondness for cute animals, especially cats.
Abilities: Mizuki's main magical focus is on summoning. Of course, as she's still just a student, she's unable to conjure anything too extreme or summon an army. She can only reliably summon the following: a winged imp with red skin, which conjures fireballs to attack and is extremely frail, a stone golem that stands roughly 6' tall with a gorilla-like physique and relies on brute strength and its tough body, a humanoid ice elemental which is neither particularly frail or tough and is capable of fighting in melee or firing shards of ice at enemies, and a succubus who she mostly just summons when she needs a player 2. She also has a limited knowledge of healing magic, although for now the main use for this is a short ranged spell which heals minor to moderate injuries over a period of time and is completely ineffective against anything major like a severed limb or 3" hole in the chest.
Skills: Mizuki is an above average student in most subjects, the biggest exception being PE. She's a competent cook, when it comes to the half dozen recipes her parents taught her. She can easily pass for a feminine boy if she wants. She can effortlessly crush anyone in the school (except that damned history teacher) in any fighting game.
Brief Backstory: Mizuki's childhood was mostly normal, as far as the daughter of a family of mages can have a normal childhood. Her parents gave her some basic education about magic at home, but had decided to leave teaching her actual spells until she was old enough to attend the Ishikawa Academy. Of course, youthful curiosity and her love of a certain monster catching/battling-based franchise may have led to her peeking at some of their books related to summoning magic prior to her arrival.

Appearance: Well, most of the time at least. She's about 5'6".
Personality: Kaori is fairly laid-back and calm most of the time, leading some students to believe her lessons are an easy pass. She can be very protective of her students if she thinks they're in danger, although she gets very annoyed when students endanger themselves and those around them. Her laid-back attitude seems to carry over to her potion-making at times, as she generally doesn't bother with precise measurements. While this generally works out fine, it has led to the occasional awkward situation and at least one (totally planned) surprise test on a recently-learned healing potion. Of course, she is far more precise when dealing with more dangerous ingredients and does not tolerate students following her example. Finally, she has something of a sweet tooth and has been known to bring baked goods to class if she feels her students have done particularly well recently.
Position: Alchemy teacher
Abilities: Kaori is an extremely talented alchemist, especially when it comes to crafting potions. She can recite a variety of alchemical recipes off the top of her head, from simple healing potions to the legendary Alkahest (not that she'd have any reason to, as her one successful attempt at creating the universal solvent ran into the predictable issue of "how does one store a substance that can dissolve anything"...fortunately the potions lab was on the ground floor). As far as actual spellcasting goes, she is far less impressive, only capable of casting a couple of basic healing spells to supplement her potions as she hasn't had much reason to use any offensive magic in the years since she graduated.
Skills: Kaori is an incredible cook, with a preference for Italian cuisine and baked sweets.
Brief Backstory: Kaori is a former student of the Academy and was top of her alchemy classes at the time. In her senior year there was an accident in the alchemy lab and her formerly black hair got permanently dyed pink. Not that she seems to mind at this point. After graduating, Kaori went on to university where she got her teaching degree before returning to the Ishikawa Academy.

  • Name: Rai Catherine, commonly called Kitty, especially as it gets around the fact that her name is not exactly the most pronounceable one in Japan.

  • Appearance: She both has the hat and refuses to remove the hat unless it's actually necessary. She's also alarmingly tall--who the hell expects a 6'4 schoolgirl?
  • Personality: If you wanted to pick two words to describe her, it would be 'loud' and 'enthusiastic'. Kitty seems committed to doing things at high speed and with maximum volume, in a strange contrast to the careful dedication and patience that her particular spells use. She also doesn't seem to be easily embarrassed or shamed, though being reprimanded for her enthusiasm can curb it... for about five minutes.
    Her love of cats is vast and extends to vaguely cat-related things--such as the plush toy that has been primed with an emergency blinding flash and thus comes with her a lot, or even catgirls. Not that there are many of those around.
  • Abilities: Kitty's speciality is witchcraft. That is, rather than the 'standard' approach to magic, her spells come from one that takes the methods normally used to boost the potency of spells and treat them as an essential component. Whilst the curriculum would generally treat elaborate runic circles (even if they're mental), ingredients, and lengthy chants as an 'if you need to do anything big' type thing, witchcraft uses it as the absolute baseline for anything above the most menial piece of magic. The result is that for the most part, her choice for spells boils down to 'spent ten minutes on it' or 'here's one I prepared earlier!' (potion, random enchanted object, or nearly-finished ritual--take your pick!) On the plus side, something that treats even beginner spells as advanced magic can provide quite a lot of oomph even if you're still learning...
    As for her actual interests: it's not magic if it isn't flashy. Lasers, explosions, and fireworks purely for the sake of it tend to encompass anything she's prepared in advance or studied in detail. Of course, as things go, she's got a good grasp of the basics, so given time to prepare and enough resources, she can do something beyond her preferences.
  • Skills: With witchcraft proper requiring a variety of skills that tend to boil down to 'precise measurements', Catherine is by necessity good at ingredient preparation, drawing to a specification, and judging these things at a moment's notice. Therefore, along with her interest in trying new things, she's a good person to go to if you want some random meal from a random country prepared. Also, despite her size, she's pretty good at slipping in and out of places without attracting attention.
  • Brief Backstory: Kitty has a wholly unremarkable life: her mother was a witch, her father someone with all the magical ability of a concussed tadpole despite his own upbringing... naturally she learned from her mother. Proper education is, of course, important, so she was eventually enrolled in Ishikawa and given a cat of her own for use in those spells that for some reason require a familiar. Not that her current knowledge is enough to evaluate why exactly a confused feline can contribute to making magical explosions, but she's of the opinion that the cat she happily named 'Dog' is useful for this purpose.

    Clara, starting from the top, has orange-red hair, that reaches down past her shoulders. Sometimes it's brushed, sometimes it's not. She has brown eyes.

    Her clothes are rather normal. She typically wears a plain blue shirt, with a jacket over top, as well as a pair of pants from a men's clothing store that she got so she could actually have usable pockets.

    Beyond that, she wears a simple pair of white tennis shoes.

    She is fairly tall, about 5'7, or 170 cm.
  • Personality:

    Clara is an odd one, to say the least. Not just in the normal sense, but in the fact that she acts very different depending on where she is and what it is she's doing. For example,

    Normally, Clara is very eccentric. Doing nonsensical things simply because she can, and saying things that are utter nonsense to anyone but herself, unless she's saying something that does make sense. In that case she means the exact opposite. Of course, all of this is intentional on her part. No one is quite sure why she acts like this, but it soon becomes apparent that it's all an act... maybe.

    In class however, she becomes very serious, quiet, and when she does speak she is very straightforward, and talks normally. She is also a bit of a teachers pet. Getting her work done on time, offering to help the teachers, and... not being afraid to tell an authority figure when she catches someone doing something they shouldn't be doing.

    Something of note, Clara has a fear of heights. Even with guard rails, she does not do well with walkways more then a couple stories off the ground.
  • Abilities:

    Darkness magic:

    Clara uses darkness magic. However, due to the negative connotations surrounding such magic, she does her best to use it in rather unconventional ways. Rather then focusing on its destructive abilities, and it's natural affinity for causing pain, she instead focuses on its supportive and defensive abilities. Not that she can't use its offensive ones, it is simply that she prefers not to use, nor learn how to use them. What she can use is listed below, in order from offensive, defensive, and supportive



    Offensive magic:

    Shadow bolt: A simple bolt of dark magic. It serves the general purpose of hurting, and has the added effect of blinding the opponent.

    Torment: more of a curse really, the effect is similar to that of being drugged, but far nastier. The world begins to fade, lose focus, and wobble. Shortly after, a terror takes hold of the target, and they begin to see various monsters chasing them. Forcing them to run. The effects only last ten minutes however. (Open to nerfing)

    Defensive:

    Dark cloak: a shadow falls over the area, hiding Clara and any allies. Of course any locating magic, or even night vision goggles would allow them to be seen. But to the naked eye, they are essentially invisible.

    Shadowstep: allows Clara to step into and move between shadows. Essentially melting into them. With this, she is able to move quickly throughout an area, so long as there is a shadow in it. This also leaves her invisible like the above, however it only affects herself, and it requires stronger magic to find her.

    Supportive:

    Refresh: a shroud of darkness covers an ally, cooling the area should it be too hot, and bringing it to a comfortable temperature. The shroud also relaxes the ally, allowing them to recover faster from attacks to mental stability.

    Heal: a variation on dark magics more necromantic magic. Rather then bringing the dead back to life, it is able to heal small wounds. It's port is weakened, as stronger magic would cause the wound to zoom past healed and into rotted. Due to being weakened it can only do small things, such as stop bleeding, or repair small cuts such as those that would occur from a paper cut, or if one cut themselves while cooking.

  • Skills:

    Balance: Clara has amazing balance. Probably from her many nonsensical acts. She could very well be a tight rope walker, we're it not for this fear.

    Attentive: one wouldn't know it, but Clara is very attentive to detail. All the better to catch her classmates in the act.

    Perfectionist: Clara is a bit of a perfectionist. Which means that things she does comes out a bit better them others at similar skill levels as her, but she takes longer, and may not even finish something, as even a small mistake can cause her to redo the whole thing.
  • Brief Backstory: Clara doesn't have all that interesting a life. She simply lived with her parents until they sent her to a different magic school in europe. However the school closed down, and she was transferred to ishikawa academy in Japan, because of cheap plane tickets it's superior classes.

Personality:
Asahi is a big guy and tends to have a big presence. Outspoken and dramatic, he might be a popular guy if he ever worked on his image. He’s nice and generous, often helping others or giving them gifts for the sake of giving them away. While he can certainly be patient to a length, he has very little tolerance for ignorance and hate. Despite his bulk he can be quite physical and often uses his sheer size as an advantage to enact violence onto others. Asahi gets bored, and when he gets bored he can sometimes put aside his usual kindness and play pranks and tricks on others, sometimes harmless, sometimes harmful.

Asahi’s constant attempts to befriend others stems from his own self-doubt due to his body image. He personally doesn’t care about how he looks and just wants people to like him for who he is, so he often acts like a fool or tries to be likeable in order to make friends who are willing to look past his meaty shape. Asahi can also come off as very strange, as he’s quite open about his perversions and intentions, even if he should keep them to himself (He often can, but may opt not to do so simply to disturb others). Asahi’s self-doubt also creates contempt towards himself, which he contains but eventually just becomes a fury which has no meaning or direction. There are times when he’s simply angry and wants to hurt people, so does his best to avoid others until he can cool off.

Abilities:
Asahi's magic has manifested as Psychic powers, specifically Telepathy and Telekinesis. He's only learned how to use a small handful, but knows that with continued training he'll be capable of much greater magic.




Telekinesis Spells:
Levitate - Asahi is able to make him and objects near him float into the air around him. He can focus this spell to grant him personal flight, and the objects can orbit around him so they are within arm's reach. They can even serve as shields if needed. However he can only lift relatively lightweight objects 20 pounds or less, and they have to be inanimate.

Force Wave - Asahi sends a physic blast of force towards a direction. This can be as soft as a poke or as forceful as a punch, with more focus put into it making it stronger, but takes longer to cast. Any disruption to his concentration while he's charging up his Force Wave will make him lose the spell and force him to start over. Asahi can also use a Force Wave to send objects he's levitating flying as if he had thrown them.

Mage Hands - Asahi is capable of manipulating and interacting with objects around him without touching them, but as if he was using his own hands for it. This allows him to operate complicated mechanisms like video game controls or weapons with no physical contact, freeing his hands to do other things. While he won't feel any difference between lifting and using a 10 pound object any more than he would a 100 pound object, whatever he's manipulating has to be something that Asahi himself could lift and carry. Only works on inanimate things.

Telepathy Spells:
Message - Asahi and up to 10 other people (Or less) near him can communicate with each other solely through telepathic messages. They would "Hear" the thoughts that they want to send to each other, but otherwise can't pick up any other thoughts they don't want to send to others. Those affected by Asahi's message spell are free to communicate with each other so long as they are near Asahi. Asahi can also use his message spell on one person that he can see who isn't anywhere close to him, but he has to be able to at least be able to see them. People can easily block out Asahi's message spell if they do not want to communicate with him, but only after he tries to contact them first.

  • Aluminum Hat - Due to the low level nature of a Message Spell, there are ways to block it without having to make a conscience effort. A hat or otherwise cranial cover made of a thin sheet of aluminum foil is capable of blocking out the mind waves send by a Message Spell, however it would fail on higher level telepathy spells. Conversely, should Asahi wear his own Aluminum Hat and shape it correctly so that it's more akin to a crown, he can actually increase the range and number of people he can send a message to, up to 20 people within a quarter mile radius of himself. THE HAT MUST BE MADE OF ALUMINUM! TIN IS INEFFECTIVE!


Dream Walk - A subconscious power that Asahi has a very limited control over, it nonetheless works when it should. This Spell allows Asahi to not only be completely lucid and in control of himself in dreams and dreamlike states, this will allow Asahi to be in other people's dreams and do stuff in there. Due to Asahi's limited control, this spell will always activate, but it only works when Asahi himself is asleep, and thus he can only go into the dreams of others who is asleep around the same time he is. Additionally the dreams Asahi finds himself in are often random, though he's more likely to be in the dreams of those around him then those further away.

  • Dream Catcher- Not a spell but an object related to it. Dream Catchers can be used to stop someone from Dream Walking into their dreams. Conversely, if a piece of hair is woven into the Dream Catcher of the Dream Walker, they are more likely to be able to enter the dreams of whoevers hair was woven into the threads.





As for natural abilities, Asahi is not as fast as he used to be, but he’s still plenty strong and durable. His reflexes are also still top notch, able to see and intercept things moving at great speeds, appropriate for the best batter in school.

Skills:
One of Asahi’s most valued skills is his baseball abilities. He’s got a good hand-eye coordination to make decent pitches, the reflexes to catch or hit fast moving balls, and the strength to consistently get homerun hitters (Or at least a base or two). He’s also pretty good at dashing, sliding, and jumping, but he’s not nearly as fast as he used to be due to his additional weight. Still more acrobatic than you’d expect a chubby kid like him to be. Just don’t expect him to place anywhere in a race.

Asahi used to do gymnastic as a kid, but aside from his mad jumps and the ability to do a split, he’s lost a good bit of those skills. He isn’t as flexible as he used to be nor light on his feet. He does have a pretty good sense of balance however, allowing him to stand perilously on narrow points for whatever reason he might have.

Additionally Asahi was always a fan of food, mostly noodles, but also anything with meat. He can serve up anything from a mean bowl of ramen to a stroganoff, BBQ some ribs and hot dogs or make a classy Beef Wellington. He’s not too bad as a sushi chef either and can work with pasta fairly well.

A skill that Asahi likes to use often is his ability to cheat at card and board games, and not even using his powers either (Though they can help immensely). Quick hands and sharp eyes allow him to peek and pocket cards on the table, and he knows how to flick his fingers on the dice to get the numbers he wants. Asahi is just as good cheating at arcade games too, though he usually uses his powers to help him at things like prize grabbers or air hockey.

Other skills that Asahi has that aren’t really important but no less impressive is his ability to find missing socks and underwear, the speed in which he can brush his teeth and take a shower/bath (Often at the same time), identifying flowers by scent alone, writing stuff down, eat food quickly without getting a stomach ache or making a mess, knit and sew dolls and clothes, fairly resistant to the effects of alcohol (Hates the taste though), counting the amount of change he has in his pockets down to the penny, and applying the price of taxes to his purchases. Asahi also keeps an eye out for deals and collects coupons for everything from groceries to technology and even obscure stuff like exotic pets and fortune telling.

Brief Backstory: Asahi was born to a couple of otaku parents who wanted their son to be cooler than them. They tried to get Asahi into things like martial arts, gymnastic, cram school, baseball, and other things. Only a few stuck, baseball in particular, but all the things his parents kept making him do made Asahi very stressed and eventually he just chose to quit. Before Asahi was a healthy kid thanks to all the stuff they made him do, but after he quit he started to eat more, shut himself in his room, and gain weight. His parents tried to get him back into shape, but he hated how they kept trying to control him and use him for their own egos. Asahi didn’t have it easy either, as his additional weight gain eventually kicked him off the baseball team (The one thing he kept doing after quitting the other clubs) and got him picked on by bullies at his school. Eventually things took a turn for the worse when one day Asahi followed one of his bullies home and challenged him to a fight in front of his own family, wielding a baseball bat.

Afterwards Asahi and his family had to go through some therapy, and it didn’t take immediately. But after a while Asahi was able to forgive his parents when he realized that they were losers just like he was, and so he tried to go back to school. Of course he couldn’t go back to his old school, so he was transferred to a new school, which turned out to also be a school for magically inclined children. Asahi himself didn’t have any notable magical powers at the time, but after a fateful encounter with a magic cat, he developed psychic powers and started to hone them. When he graduated middle school, he sought out a magical high school where he could further hone his magic abilities and maybe make some new friends.
