It was -3 F when I left, this morning. The winds were breezy. I can only assume that, because I didn't freeze on the return trip, the sun improved things.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gremlin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Private Durandal

The young lady Durandal had been rather quiet. Focused on her inner calm, she knew that her state would do her no favors in combat. She needed to be crisp and mentally sound to face combat, and that was how she intended to be. To that end, she spent her time in a meditative state, securing her mind against whatever insecurities or doubts or... whatever it was that had been plaguing her.

They were deploying, and Miss Jatmoore had assigned her to the rear guard with someone new, a Private Hexner. The explosion shook her from any further meditation. "Two sets of eyes to watch everyone's back, including yours. We'll work together." Regan made some final, fine adjustments to the position of the Far Eastern sword on her hip, and hefted her mortar lance up to clear her legs, so she could keep up with the squad.

The journal the Sergeant had given her, the one she'd been reading from Sergeant Attenborough rested in her breast pocket. It wasn't really something to take into battle, was it? But, all the same, she knew she should hang on to it.
@Silver Fox Yay I posted finally. x.x

I gotta post more regularly, I'm sorry. :<
Trinity Stratos

Trinity stepped inside the ship behind the Karns, gazing at the blueprints Eddy found. She had been more interested in the engine room below that she hadn't noticed them before. Before she could make any comment, however, a voice spoke from within the ship. The minstrel snapped her attention away from the papers, hopping back just a little and preparing to conjure Energy Make, but she relaxes as she analyses the situation.

This person was not interested in her, or even the ship, from the sounds of it. So what was this about Karn being a miracle cure?

She was unsure of what to make out of the woman, watching her carefully. "What, did you follow us here, then? Hmn. Seems like everyone has fans these days..." This woman wanted to help Eddy get home... but for such a strange price?

Eddy seemed to consider it, but released the cat. The creature scampered away, out of the ship. Eddy looked back at her, and Trinity stepped toward her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "We can figure this out together, Eddy. You made the right choice."

A sweet smile turned to a stone gaze, as she gazed at the strange, thin woman. "You. Who are you and what's your game?"
@Silver Fox Waaahg, I'm terrible. D: I'm sorry you had to wait so long for my worthless butt.
Trinity Stratos

[color=9000f9]"Ah, yeah, but I'm not really supposed to be off on my own, either..." Trinity wanted to protest more, but her concern for Ariel was more immediate. "Not like that stops me anyway. I'll be back once I- ah. Found her." Trinity peered over the railing on the deck, spying what could only be Ariel and... Nolan? She never had much contact with a guy. "Looks like she's with Nolan, and they're holding hands? Did I miss something...? Well, mystery solved, I suppose. And she's with someone, so I can show you the ship."

Trinity dissolved and absorbed her grappling hook before she walked over to join the Karns. Though, something was a little strange. Karn had started to say something. "... Eddy?" Not like she knew what she'd follow it up with, though. Probably just "... nothin'."
@Silver Fox
Welcome to the machine.
Trinity Stratos

Trinity tried a few more combinations on the door pad before giving up. They changed it, which meant she couldn't open the door. Well, maybe she could, yet, but she'd let Eddy take a crack, if she wanted. She turned and walked over to the rail of the deck, peering over at her... friend below. She looked up and around quickly, wondering if Ariel was above her, flying to the deck? No sign of her. "Ooh-ho-ho Gooooods dammit," The troubadour leaned back with her hands holding on to the rail, and then crouched down and stood back up, peering down over the railing again, "Karn, where'd Ariel go?"

I posted, forgot to mention you.
Trinity Stratos

"Lookin' good, Eddy." The minstrel had been waiting patiently for the Karns to emerge in their new dress, and Eddy showed her sense of style. Maybe now people could tell he's a guy. Though, even that wasn't entirely unambiguous, now.

At any rate, "yes, the airship. Right this way. It's in one of the Capitol's parks." She conjured a harp for herself and played a tune for their jaunt through the city. When they arrived, a few people had gathered around to gaze at the foreign airship. Trinity dispersed her harp and stepped past the few spectators. "Here she is." She stepped up to the hull of the ship and pat her side, looking up to pick out her path to the deck above. The below deck access was out of reach. "This way." The mage molds herself a grappling hook and flings it up to the railing above, giving it an experimental tug before climbing up. It would feel like a silk rope in hand, despite having the strength of chain.

The hull of the airship is metal, and there is no obvious balloon or other flotation device. The minstrel approached a door and keyed in a code. It gave her an error and she pouted, keying it in again. No good. "Ahg, I should have changed it myself when I had the chance..."
