@Disciple Cain Will see about some kind of character, get some ideas up in an app and see where my interest leads me. Was initially tempted to make a "Songstress" type who just bend people with her voice and buffs/debuffs. Anywho, noted! :P
@Disciple Cain Also yes, what @Black Alice just said.
Wow this place has exploded in interest. XD

One. Two. Three. Repeat. With each move the catgirl felt her body adjusting in this period of brief practice, and she was acclimated enough and physically responsive enough it would be no problem. But just like in life she knew one thing for certain: Without a fleshy targets to really practice on it was only practicing her blows against the empty air in the end. Regardless, she hoped that such a thing would not have to happen right now if she could help it. Practice like that could come later, right now the main issue was getting ready and out of here alive.

While the gust of cold wind wasn't much to ponder, as she remained very much comfortable despite the state of her clothing, she couldn't help but notice the gear just dropped about as it was. Had some idiot arrived here a long time ago, and tried to loot the place for all it was worth? Eh, that was then and this was now. She grabbed up a warhammer and a shield, as well as a fitting spear for herself, before turning to walk back over to where the two men were. On the bright side, aside from that horrible screeching right out of a horror game it was clear that the grinding stone noise was moving away from them...probably was moving towards the screeching noise, frankly.

Donovan had at least acted to try to stop the light show about them, but at the same time that had gotten the seemingly well-grounded man a blow where the sun did not shine. She winced at the sight, though at least whatever the crazy man had tried to do seemed to work for a moment. Not that it seemed to stay 'in control', but that at best was a guess for her.

"...Even with my training from before, Donovan, I have to admit you took that better than I would have out of reflex."

Breathe. In and out. Whew.

She was most definitely frustrated with Malphas, but had she been attacked in retaliation like such she had been trained to react to such in a different manner than Donovan had reacted. Perhaps it was good she hadn't been the one to stop the light show of the effeminate third party member, as it were. But the two men's own words seemed to virtually confirm her thoughts in regards to deciphering Malphas' 'gift'.

"...I'll agree with that sentiment, Donovan," the catgirl said with a small sigh, walking closer to the two men before continuing, "Malphas, if you want faith then you have to earn it by proving it. Forcing it doesn't work. Besides, we all probably have the potential for magic in this new life as well...probably need to be careful until we get a better grasp."

Leannah shuffled the weapons in her grasp, leaning the shaft of the spear (a weapon among many perfect for her skillset) on the crook of one shoulder and resting the butt of it on the floor as she put the warhammer on the shield and extended it out towards Donovan.

"Anywho, speaking of weapons here's a couple for you. If that thing is moving away, though, we need to take advantage of that to get moving and book it as quietly as we can."

Ishara

Ishara nodded to the older mage as he gave his advice of the night, though as the man walked away she could not help but ponder why he seemed like he was. Or rather, why he seemed to have such a weight upon him. She'd once heard a saying, she had forgotten from which people, that had gone: "To be in the present is a gift, but to know of the future is a burden indeed." It came to mind when she watched the straight-laced-looking older Sorcerer walk off to converse about some other business. He seemed to be wise from his years, something that indeed some peoples took value in indeed. Yes the old did get weaker in the flesh as the waxed on long enough, but to have lived for so long was a testament to their lives in turn.

Ah...but before she could ponder on things some more, the green-haired girl felt an inkling trickle into her as she watched Dagon and the Magistrate move off to the side. Whilst much of her felt like going off to find Radaam at the moment, perhaps talk to him before they all headed out and such and she'd hoped to before, something of an inkling wormed its way into her thoughts. A certain curiosity about what the older men were talking of, as it were, seemed to linger in her thoughts and against her better judgement. Usually she would have tossed away such thoughts, and yet at the same time she couldn't really get herself to move away.

'Hmm. W-While it is not rather polite...what might those two be talking about, I wonder? Us? Why the Crimson King himself was not here?"

The girl thought to herself for a moment, she positioned herself to eavesdrop nearby. She even grabbed a drink and was taking sips, looking out over the crowd despite the true focus of her endeavor. The beer wasn't very hydrating, if at all, but she knew well enough how to smile and put on a face for events like this and such interactions. Not that it was intended for this sort of less polite activity, but...it worked at least.

Minamoto no Tametomo

"If we were mounting an ambush would we stand around in the open like this? At any rate, I think you know how this goes, right? If you want to cross this bridge, you gotta beat us first. I suppose that's a duel declaration, then."

"Just so that you're sure, we aren't opposed to the idea of an alliance as well. But, even Yoshitsune had to beat Benkei before they became friends."

“Personally, I’d prefer if we could just skip the duel and go straight to being friends, you know? You seem like the type who knows when to take it easy.”

The servant relayed the words and actions of his opponents back to Constante, though as for his 'other' master it was going to be more of a situation. He could practically feel the panic in Karizma's communication, and in response the other master-servant pair would only see him let out a sigh.

'Er...just step on it? Maybe crush it with your fist? Just don't set yourself on fire.

Ah, barring that all just make sure you keep in the bushes somehow."

He was rather calm communicating back to the girl, not apathetic but almost a bit deadpan in his delivery of the message.

---

"Well well well, so reasonable you seem to be for an opponent! I am thankful. Taking care of a newbie is a challenge of its own, especially when they're still learning."

The Archer let out a loud laugh visibly, before standing up on the light pole he was on with ease as took up a stance to hold his bow. Not a stance to fire yet, as the bow was lowered, but rather a stance to prepare for battle and with an arrow nocked. He made his intentions clear as day, though without a doubt a big grin was writing itself into his face.

Sure he wanted to care for his masters, that he had told himself he'd do by answering their summons, but he was also a Heroic Spirit to boot. He was a warrior, a man who had known battle all his life, an archer who'd intimidated the demon of Onigashima into serving him, and a former exile who had finally returned home again. He wanted to feel alive again, even if just in this form, just for a moment to help satiate that memory of a lonely man exiled to an island.

It was electrifying.

"I'd normally love to skip the duel and just have a drink, frankly even just continue on without trouble to go looking if there's any relatives of mine out here too...

...But I must confess, it has been a long while since I last felt the thrill of battle in my prime. So if it can be agreed the masters stay out of this, I am more than willing to engage in a duel someone who is probably a famous swordsman,"
Tametomo said, drawing his bow back with his arrow at the ready, the glint of excitement in his eyes as he spoke in a more jovial tone, "Then let's both at least drink to it after this, win or lose! Let us become alive again, fighting upon the grounds of our homeland!"

He wasn't targeting the Saber's master at least, but he could not help himself in this instance. He was ready...he'd really been ready for a long time. Such a long time indeed since his last bout, with bow or sword.

...Hmm?

As the tanegashima-toting mage walked down one of the roads with her servant, having long left her base behind and made good tracks to get here, the Command Seals on her hand seemed to burn. It was an odd sensation, but it also gave her the impression that someone else was nearby. Someone with a servant and their own Command Seals, if she had to place to a guess based on what she could understand out of all of this so far. Yes.

But would they be opponent, challenger, or ally? Hmm. That would be for her and her servant to determine, but for now with him at a lesser state she felt it would be better to try to keep it less 'stabby' for the moment. That would suit them nicely to avoid just attacking everyone they saw on a whim.

Besides, as she got closer she couldn't help but note the cute but somewhat older woman who had a cute little jean jacket! Though for someone to be wandering out here, it almost made her wonder if they were scouting or potentially a local. Either way~

"Hey there, Miss! Hate to interrupt, but would you happen to know the way to a good place to eat around here?"

Izumi twirled her gun one last time, before letting it rest back on her shoulder with one hand holding it by the butt. She gave a light and quick bow to the stranger before putting a hand on her hip. Her face was beaming with a smile that spoke volumes of 'eager friendly face', though the fact she was a kid with a matchlock was something odd in and of itself.

'Eh Rider, detect anyone else out here?'

Hmm, that wasn't good. An obvious magus, an obvious 'flag' to draw attention in an obvious place, and the faint trill of music winding along through the air. Contante was right to be worried, in his mind, that this could very well be some kind or trap or the like. Not that Karizma's whimsical attempt at anime-drenched Japanese terms wasn't whimsically amusing, but this was more serious than the girl seemed to be wont to treat it-...wait. What?!

Did she just calling attention to them to whoever was over the bridge without support? At least she wasn't running over there with a 'shoot me' sign hung over her neck, but what in the world was she thinking? Was she thinking? Well, he needed to act before anything potentially went more quickly south.

'Constante, please keep an eye for any sudden changes. Anything indicative an of attack perhaps, or preparing a spell or something.'

The boy would hear Archer's message in his own head in return, as the servant materialized (having dematerialized along the way) before grabbing Karizma by the back of her shirt collar and immediately pulling her with him into a nearby big bush among several.

"...Rule One of any kind of 'War': Don't just immediately call out to an enemy waiting for someone in an obvious setup or maybe trap. Now please sight tight for a moment while I see what the deal is here. If a battle breaks out, then don't get shot by stepping into the crossfire. If they wanna' talk, then we can talk. Just let me figure it out, ok?"

Was he babying the girl by whispering to her in this bush he pulled her into? Yes, most definitely and simply yes. Was he trying to keep her alive despite her lack (but not total absence thereof) of survival instincts? Yes. She could not like him for this, she might appreciate it, but regardless she and her brother were under his wing. That was something he took seriously.

Dematerializing, the Archer would remove himself from the bush and take up a spot on he and Karizma's side of the bridge, re-materializing as he sat on a light post. From there the man gave a seemingly casual wave towards the other end with his free hand, his bow firmyl gripped in the other hand as it sat in his lap, albeit his manner almost seemed like someone who just wanted to share a drink. Or maybe it was a friendly idiot act.

"Yo! Is this one of those ambush traps, a nice little challenge for a duel, or some kind of friendly signal to come and talk over some sake? Either way I'll need to know veeeery soon though, or I will have to assume the worst."

In this era he preferred a more casual approach to life, not that he was taking it any less seriously. But if he was making noise and drawing the attention to himself, especially in a manner that made him stand out loudly, that might help Karizma's case if she stayed put in the bushes for the moment being. Maybe. He prayed to the gods of his family that she kept in the bush. Regardless, he would handle things on this end first.

They would be able to find out real fast if those on the other end had one kind of intention or another in doing this. He would be better off taking the attention first in a bad situation, however, than his master would.

Second Floor, Ruined Building (???), ???

Leannah seemed to blink slowly at Malphas as he spoke, seemingly reacting to his own new voice or something before continuing on. Between his familiar-ish appearance and the sound of how he seemed to speak and carry himself, it rang more alarm bells in the catgirl's head than she'd care to have heard. Perhaps she was acting a bit 'trope aware', but this was more her common sense kicking in after a lifetime spent around people of upper class standing who could spin a silver tongue top try to get their way with things. Nope. Nope nope nope nope.

At least the other man seemed to be more agreeable, if not rather Irish between his accent and that snort and near-laugh she heard from him. Or was it Scottish? Eh, maybe that was not a good question right now. He did seem to give off that 'simple working man' kind of presence, which she frankly could respect. Plus she could admire or laugh at her new form later, as even her senses were picking up quickly on something going funky around here.

Stone grinding on stone, and a low rumbling roar from far away. Not that it wasn't already close enough to be heard at least. Not only that, but the sound of another pod opening and the thunk of another person thrown out! The catgirl looked up towards the source, lightly grimacing before letting out a small, quiet sigh.

"Name's Leannah. Have martial arts skills, more so once I get a moment of practice in here to adjust to this new body. But sounds like someone else just joined the party to boot...and perhaps that Guardian is getting closer out there as well. So I'll cut to the chase," she said, trying to get to the point as she pointed up to the third shelf and the doorway in turn as she looked between the two men, "Mr. Donovan, would you be able to get some stairs or something simple rigged up to get someone down from that third shelf?

Then ah...Malphas you said? Malphas. Yes. Would you be able to help me scavenge some things up for us? Just enough to arm ourselves and try to get out at least, and try to make good time with it all before things go south.

Meanwhile I'll keep my ears open for whatever is going on out there as well."

Giving a nod to the men, the catgirl would then bluntly move to go do as she said she was going to do. Though along the way she'd cock her head towards the third shelf and call out just loud enough to make sure she would be able to be heard if someone was up there. She wasn't going to shout loud enough to try to call over the Guardian unintentionally, but just enough volume so that anyone on the third shelf would be able to hear her clearly at least.

"Hey, whoever's up there! We'll see if help can come your way, but we need to get moving out of here! So be ready to get moving once you get down!"

Then, trying to keep an ear on what was going on, she moved off to the side to actively practice for a moment. If she could just get her new body to fall in place, then she'd frankly be fine if they 'had' to fight. Maybe. Not that they would win such a thing if that warning was holding true still, but having those skills ready was better than nothing. Then once this was done she'd immediately go to look for some fitting weapons for herself, at a minimum, and see if there was an armor or other things here that might be useful to herself or the others otherwise. Nothing too much, just...just enough to be armed and get out of here in one piece.

Time was of the essence. Maybe the others would listen to her sudden plans for this, or maybe not. Either way she was taking action. Such was the nature of a survival situation like this one.
