"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

Her breath caught when she felt the cold metal of a pistol against her temple.

"Put the heart down, and back the hell up if you want your friend to live," the guard said to Ellie in a rumbling baritone, digging the gun into Dream's head.

Dream squinted at Ellie, vision blurred as she tried to breathe. The heart, glinting in Ellie's hands.

The doctor, his face turning white every time she asked what would happen if they failed. Above all else, he said, they had to keep the heart safe. They had to, even if it meant...

She snarled, her boot stamping down on the guard's foot, a burst of light bruising the bone. He yelped, losing his grip. That's all she needed, and she tore away. But in her haste, she saw his free arm reaching for her, and she slipped on panicked feet as he pushed her off the railing.

She held back a scream, staring straight down into the boiling pit below. The guard wrapped a tight hand around her ankle, and Ellie could see Dream's other foot flailing; she restrained herself poorly from kicking the guard, desperately hoping she wouldn't die.

As her captor supported himself against the railing, his pistol pointed at Ellie.

"I'll drop her, I swear I'll drop her!"

Deep, golden orbs stared back at her from within the cave.

God, she couldn't breathe.

He was monstrous. The ground trembled under her feet as his rippling, massive body exited the cave. Thunderous footsteps left cracks in the dirt, his breath sent waves of heat creeping over her skin. The transformation was slow, but it looked like something from a nightmare with the way his long teeth were bared.

A great and terrible roar sounded from his gaping maw.

She needed to run. Now.

Hehe, I do. >w>
Minutes before the bell was to ring for the end of classes, Aislin noticed something strange. A big, fat bug traveled by her feet, crawling in a dead straight line. Normally (she only knew this from the vast amount of time she stared at everything but the teacher) when a bug was lost in a classroom, it just wandered around. No set pattern, no determination to do anything crazy. But this one was dead-set on something. And it wasn't just that singular bug. There were other critters on the ground, converging in the same direction.

Eyes glued to the ground, she pushed out from her seat and followed behind in little tip-toe steps. Where are you all going? She curiously put her hand up in a wall in front of one beetle, but it merely went around and continued its path. Shaking her head, she kept following the parade until they met their destination: a gym bag. They were all just crawling in, one after the other. Aislin briefly considered the bag might belong to someone, and looked up. The desk's occupant was Asian, dark haired and seemed mild mannered. Feeling out of place, Aislin stood, looked at her, then down at the bag again.

Another crawly thing dropped into its darkness. "Oh, those are yours? I was so confused." Aislin laughed, assuming it was a form of her ability. "That's cool."

The bell rang and Aislin gave a little nod as she turned to leave. She felt a little awkward, wanting to leave that interaction just at that. Besides, the fun part of classes was lined up next. Power Training, something she had been waiting for with a mix of dread and anticipation. She had no idea what to expect. But she was sure she could handle it... Probably.

She sat quietly through Adam's speech, absorbing as much information as she could. He looks intimidating in that suit... The other Power teachers all seemed very interesting, however the lady on the end gave her the creeps. Profiling was a bad habit, but the spiky hair thing was such a bad idea. Her frown didn't help, either.

When Adam lifted up the bodysuit with wind, Aislin felt a rush of adrenaline race through her system. One, that power was cool. Two, the bodysuit looked awesome. She didn't know they were getting their own suits. These had padding and everything, which was perfect because Aislin was such a wuss. Maybe she'd be more comfortable training and sparring with some extra protection.

The moment Adam mentioned everyone had to change into their suits before they could truly begin, Aislin shot out of her seat and booked it to the locker rooms, a quiet "Woooop, woop, woopwopwop..." trailing behind her. Hell yeah she was gonna beat the mad rush to the change rooms. All those other kiddies could ask their questions to the great and powerful teacher. She found her suit, quickly changed, admired how she looked in the mirror, and exited the locker room. On her way out she spotted Dana, a lady with a scarf, and Henry -- Holy shit, Henry looks like a lean, mean machine.

Just as she was walking up to them, Henry was attacked from behind by a very enthusiastic girl. Aislin laughed, waving to Dana. "Hello again, Dana, Professor. How do I look? If they had told me bodysuits were in the deal, I don't think I would have been nearly as worried about the Arena." She gave a little nod to the two ladies she didn't recognize.
We might have some new people here soon~!

Maybe our reason to go is to make a name for ourselves? A message to the Vygorns? Btw I posted

Hahaha!! Holy shit, nice quadruple post. RPG totally hiccuped there. But if we're talking about a reason, like a solid reason to go and do what we'll do? Mm, making a name for ourselves is a good start. That'll be very dangerous since that's putting a target on us for the Vygorns to sniff out, plus any other form of law or corruption. But if we slowly start liberating the streets, giving the poor people hope again, I think we could make something magical happen. If we have the people behind us when we tango with the aliens again that might give us the edge we need.

News Flash: The Vigilante Elementals: Are They Friend Or Foe? Everything you need to know about the youth destroying our streets with ice and seeds. (Hehe, cuz I'm sure the Vygorns control the media too.)
Honestly, I think he needs some babying. Chris is a very traumatized soul, ya know?
Aw, sweet! Yep, submit your character to the Character Files thread. I'll be very happy to review them. :D
@Inferno:

Chris makes me wanna bury him in stuffed animals and chocolate, the poor thing. :p
Hehe, thanks Ginger. XD
Ooh, me, me! I don't wanna give any fucks either!

Aislin smiled when Dana admitted she didn't have any stories. Being one of the less interesting students was something Aislin felt too, just from one look at her roommate. Alex was a natural strobe light. Between all the Animal Metas, Energy folk and Cerebrals, she looked at her own little ability and felt small. Like an angel fish in an ocean of sharks. Well, that may have been exaggerating, but Aislin enjoyed its poetic flair.

Jaska echoed her enthusiasm with the caves, she could only laugh when he mentioned he wasn't interested in school anymore. He was such a cute kid, honestly. Dana kinda looked down, that awkward smile back on her face. Aislin frowned, looking at her wheels. "I thought this school, with all it's funding and super-functioning humans, would also have superior technology. I'm sure hovering tech would be within the grasp of a Meta genius."

The reptilian teacher made a good impression on her. He seemed solid. It didn't quite feel like a hierarchal teacher-student relationship, not with him. She couldn't quite categorize it, but if he was leading a few of her classes, that'd be a blast. As Henry divulged information on how the Academy worked, Aislin was dead focused on him. Power training piqued her curiosity, but it sounded scary. She had never used her ability in a classroom setting, never mind arena setting. God, this school is insane... But I think I like it. Aislin chuckled, shaking her head.

"Wow, six undiscovered abilities? Do our powers really keep unfolding like that?" The idea of ever-improving abilities intrigued Aislin, she was convinced her own talent couldn't get any better than what she had. But she guessed that was narrow-minded thinking. In this new Academy world, she really had to start throwing assumptions out the window.

The certain individual who so pleasantly scared the shit out of Aislin with the thunderous crash of a cafeteria table was immediately blacklisted in her mind. Not that she could see what was really going on, but just the action was significantly rude.

She checked the time. Yikes, gotta go. Placing her utensils horizontal on her empty plate, she got up from the table. "I actually gotta run, I need to grab some stuff for class. But it was lovely getting to know you all. Professor, I'm looking forward to that expedition." She unfolded a note from her pocket and placed it on the table, flashing a grin. "This is my cell. Feel free to keep in touch, if you'd like."

She gave a little wave as she left the table, putting her tray away while giving that one table-flipper bitch laser eyes and a wide breadth. Gross, she had an entourage too. Aislin exited before them and hurried on her way.
In light of classes starting I'll have a post up soon. ^^
