Minutes before the bell was to ring for the end of classes, Aislin noticed something strange. A big, fat bug traveled by her feet, crawling in a dead straight line. Normally (she only knew this from the vast amount of time she stared at everything but the teacher) when a bug was lost in a classroom, it just wandered around. No set pattern, no determination to do anything crazy. But this one was dead-set on something. And it wasn't just that singular bug. There were other critters on the ground, converging in the same direction.
Eyes glued to the ground, she pushed out from her seat and followed behind in little tip-toe steps. Where are you all going? She curiously put her hand up in a wall in front of one beetle, but it merely went around and continued its path. Shaking her head, she kept following the parade until they met their destination: a gym bag. They were all just crawling in, one after the other. Aislin briefly considered the bag might belong to someone, and looked up. The desk's occupant was Asian, dark haired and seemed mild mannered. Feeling out of place, Aislin stood, looked at her, then down at the bag again.
Another crawly thing dropped into its darkness. "Oh, those are yours? I was so confused." Aislin laughed, assuming it was a form of her ability. "That's cool."
The bell rang and Aislin gave a little nod as she turned to leave. She felt a little awkward, wanting to leave that interaction just at that. Besides, the fun part of classes was lined up next. Power Training, something she had been waiting for with a mix of dread and anticipation. She had no idea what to expect. But she was sure she could handle it... Probably.
She sat quietly through Adam's speech, absorbing as much information as she could. He looks intimidating in that suit... The other Power teachers all seemed very interesting, however the lady on the end gave her the creeps. Profiling was a bad habit, but the spiky hair thing was such a bad idea. Her frown didn't help, either.
When Adam lifted up the bodysuit with wind, Aislin felt a rush of adrenaline race through her system. One, that power was cool. Two, the bodysuit looked awesome. She didn't know they were getting their own suits. These had padding and everything, which was perfect because Aislin was such a wuss. Maybe she'd be more comfortable training and sparring with some extra protection.
The moment Adam mentioned everyone had to change into their suits before they could truly begin, Aislin shot out of her seat and booked it to the locker rooms, a quiet "Woooop, woop, woopwopwop..." trailing behind her. Hell yeah she was gonna beat the mad rush to the change rooms. All those other kiddies could ask their questions to the great and powerful teacher. She found her suit, quickly changed, admired how she looked in the mirror, and exited the locker room. On her way out she spotted Dana, a lady with a scarf, and Henry -- Holy shit, Henry looks like a lean, mean machine.
Just as she was walking up to them, Henry was attacked from behind by a very enthusiastic girl. Aislin laughed, waving to Dana. "Hello again, Dana, Professor. How do I look? If they had told me bodysuits were in the deal, I don't think I would have been nearly as worried about the Arena." She gave a little nod to the two ladies she didn't recognize.
