If Lucette didn't know any better, she'd think that 'Big Sis' was toying with her, but she had been with Marywell for more than seven decades now; The Grand Minister had always preferred an informally casual atmosphere, maybe it was deliberate to not make the magical girls feel awkward around her, perhaps that's just the way she was, or a little bit of both. Lucette could see why it'd be useful to make the younger girls feel welcomed and comfortable; a method that Lucy herself tried to emulate, with Nessie as the most recent case. However, calling her 'Big Sis' was still just... uh... a bit too personal for Lucy's liking. It couldn't be helped if that's what Lily wished though.

Sigh, so it did seem that Arthur was the "Heroic Idealist" kind of person and it'd make sense that the Grimoire emulating his legends would seek a bearer with similar traits, as is true for most - if not all - grimoires out there. It'd also explain why Alters were often... mentally disturbed as the Altered Grimoires themselves sought out people with 'unusual' mindsets. "Is there truly no other way...?" Lucette murmured, genuinely wishing that Chinami's life wouldn't end in tragedy, her 'kingdom' in ruins as she's betrayed by her own comrades and loved ones, all because she stubbornly clung to her ideals even when the situation urged her to adapt. Losing sight of the bigger picture by getting bogged down in the details, won the battle but lost the war, that was her curse.

Lucette already knew that Chinami didn't like her, and while it's a mostly one-sided sentiment, recent events made her believe that it was somewhat mutual; Lucy would be lying to herself if she said she never wished that Le Morte d'Arthur would’ve chosen someone else. If there was a way to sever the bond between a Grimoire and its Bearer... "..." She shook her head slowly exactly twice, no, it wouldn't be right. Regardless, Lucette firmly believed that Liliana - as both the Grand Minister and someone who personally met the original Arthur - would have a solution for this, the Seraph trusted that she wouldn't wish Chinami to repeat history.

However, that solution wasn't exactly what she'd call 'expected', "Que...?" Light blue eyes blinked a few times. The favor... was it really the solution? "Ah... well, Big Sis, uhm..." The younger girl fidgeted, blushes coloring her cheeks again, "I'm honored, but... would I really be the best-..." Then her voice abruptly cut off before she could even finish her sentence as her mind came to a little revelation.

If I'm to be assigned as Camelot's warden... then I'll have a sanctioned reason to keep watch over her, urge her away from recklessly using the Round Table...

Her hesitation seemed to vanish into the aether as the snow-haired girl gave a firm nod to Liliana, "Oui, I accept this task, Miss Mar-... I mean, Big Sis..." She curled a solemn yet determined smile. With the urgent matter done, Lucette stood up, "I shouldn't take anymore of your time, please excuse me." then made her way out the office.

There would be no more Round Table without her direct supervision...
Ozma, you cruel bitch, let Nessie sleep please. :(
We prefer a semi realistic anime style image, in keeping with the idea of the game.

Just making sure, does this count as semi realistic?

It's an official art of the game so I'm leaning to "yes, obviously duh", but can't hurt to make sure.
Oooh, I only played the tutorial levels of Code Vein, the gameplay didn’t click with me but I’m interested in the universe and lore.

So if I can enjoy Code Vein through writing, why the hell not? I’m putting my interest here.

As the battle raged in the carmine hall, Valkyrie's attention was justifiably occupied by her immediate enemy. She didn't particularly notice that an invisible enemy charged at Wukong, how the airborne Avenir vaporized one of the arachnid centaur's limb, Breacher's attempt to save her, nor Leroux charging at the vampiric conductor. Right here, right now, she must purify this sacrilegious sister before attending to her allies. The sniper gritted her teeth as she braced for impact with her weapon, a marksman being forced to defend against a swordswoman at melee, definitely not ideal in any stretch of the word.

Fortunately, the Malice Incarnate himself swooped in like a guardian devil, intercepting the zweihander falchion with his blade; his dagger didn't have enough to strength to overpower the faux nun, but it did achieve its purpose of deflecting the attack away from its intended target. Even then, his dark melody managed to coil and restrain around their foe's blade; not having any intention to squander this opportunity, Valkyrie immediately took aim and-...

"...?!"

...-stood still, not by her own volition; Valkyrie's face contorted into a furious wince as she stared fiercely at the clergy charlatan's single visible carmine eye. Her mind was already sending commands to her feet to step back so she could maneuver Teslic Gauss’ long barrel, yet control over her own body was magically restricted from her. Silmeria tried her damndest to just fucking move back! But whether she'd eventually succeed or not, she didn't have the time to find out as Silhouette's thrown form crashed against her, sending both of them to smash against a nearby statue.

As the sniper groaned in pain, she felt a strange substance drenching her frame, its pungent smell assaulting her olfactory senses. This is... kerosene?! Why in the name of the Allfather did a fucking vampire keep flammable material in his home? Either real vampires had no particular weakness against flames or Justin was just crazy like that, she's inclined to believe the latter. Right now, however, she had his thralls to worry about.

With so many chaotic events happening at once, even the toxic fog of the arachnid-centaur-abomination-thing didn't consciously register in Valkyrie's mind as its smell was masked by the oil. This wasn't good, she's supposed to provide fire support to the team, but the nun was too strong for Silhouette to face alone; she's drenched in oil, and a strange affliction was gripping her body. She didn't like this, no one in her position would, perhaps this was where her story would end? Perhaps it'd be easier to just give up and let the void take her...?

Then Helena's visage tore through the fog of doubt of her mind.

"..." Valkyrie's unblinking gaze hardened, vengeful hatred concentrated into a tranquil fury coursing through her veins. Yes, right now, she wasn't a mere human, an instrument of divine will instead. Shifting the symbol of Thor's might in her hands, she took aim at the perverse mockery of a nun, it was time to free the impure of their curse.

So as the forebears who came before me, I vow to cleanse the world of those whose presence become a haunt for mankind. This shall be known... Nibelung Valesti!

Teslic Gauss pulsated with thunderous power, then... BOOM!!

Arcane lightning tore through space, swifter than any esper, faster than any vehicle, and dwarfing all conventional firearms; only the photons of light could hope to match it as the melody homed toward the nun's heart.

May her wicked soul be baptized by thunder!

Upon hearing Liliana's permission, Lucette hand drew back instead of moving toward the door's handle for she knew that opening the door herself wouldn't be necessary. As was usual, the doors swung by themselves, allowing her to enter. "Please excuse me." The white-haired girl promptly sauntered forward as they closed behind her; she soon occupied one of the vacant chairs facing the Grand Minister's desk. Now face-to-face, Lucette was again reminded just how similar she looked to Liliana; with matching clothes, it would be justified for unfamiliar observers to pass them off as sisters, with Lily being the older one, coincidentally true in both physical and chronological sense.

This fact made slight blushes crept onto the younger girl's cheeks, not sure whether Liliana was specifically teasing her about it or was it just a mere coincidence. Lucette blinked, debating whether to humor the other silver-haired girl or not, but since they were in private... she guessed there's no harm if it would make her happy; God knows that Liliana deserved every bit of warmth she could get in these trying times. "Very well... Big Sis..." Lucy's voice faltered a bit, no doubt trying her best to hide her embarrassment; did Liliana do this with everyone or just her? It'd be nice if it's the former-... but wait, on second thought, the latter would be better since the other could imply that Liliana was starving for affection.

"I have a few matters to talk with you, The untransformed angel got right to business, she didn't want to waste the Grand Minister's time for a second longer than necessary, "The last operation went well for the most part..." She then began summarizing the events that transpired at the abandoned construction site last night; the bewitched innocents, the giant pageless, and the birth of the Lady of the Lake among other things. While indeed that most things went well, there were a few concerns to express, one of them was related to the bearer of Clas Myrddin's sister grimoire, Le Morte d'Arthur.

"As you may have known, Chinami Nadakai - Camelot - has been using the Round Table to feed the homeless and destitute on an almost daily basis. While I have little doubt that she has nothing but altruistic intentions, this careless use and blatant exposure of magic to the common folk are more dangerous than it's worth. I've tried to warn her of the possible dangers, but she never listened..." Or else they wouldn't be having this conversation. Lucette closed her eyes for a moment as a heavy sigh left her lips, "In that very same night, Pageless attacked the Round Table and its attendants, I am to believe that some of the horde were attracted there from the main bulk at the construction site, lured by her magic. Fortunately for them, Camelot was still there to protect them and no more of the creatures arrived after she left, hopefully. However, if she's going to do this daily... how long will it take until she slips and innocents are devoured? What's the merit of feeding them if she's just unwittingly fattening them up for the Pageless to consume?" Although Lucette kept her tone calm, someone as sharp as Liliana could definitely see the passion underneath.

"I think it has gone on for far too long and we should nip it at the bud before actual lives are lost," She continued, "Our enemy aren't mindless beasts, something sinister is pulling their strings... and I fear Camelot is playing right into its hands, her sense of altruism overpowering rational sense. I'd never claim to know more about King Arthur's story more than you do, Big Sis, but... I'd prefer if Chinami doesn't follow his tale to its tragic end." She paused to let her words sink in before asking the million pounds question. "What do you suggest I should do?"
Imma make a short post to respond to Liliana since it's a 1x1 conversation scene.
I'll have a post up to Saturday, if all goes well. Then, we can move from there.

I'll be posting tomorrow.

Niiice, double GM post. Pog!
The following are your dorm roommates. Let me know if there's any issues:

@Kumbaris @ERode

"...?" Lucretia merely tilted her head slightly at Bunga's comment about her conduct, what was unproductive about it? In fact, she phrased her question with the express goal of being efficiently productive, no beating around the bush with unnecessary small talks. In relation to that, why would an efficient talk anger Sukoro? He's a fellow Technologist Polymath, and Technologists often adopted engineering philosophies into their craft. If Bunga defined "politely" as wasting time by beating around the bush first, then the Egoist clearly misunderstood the whole thing. However, she was both foreign and non-Technologist so Lucy chalked it up to her being unfamiliar, perhaps things were done differently in her homeland, that was certainly a distinct possibility.

Since Sukoro was apparently wholly focused on his work - something Lucretia could genuinely relate to - the white-haired girl took a step back first, not really caring about Bunga's inaccurate assessment of her motivations and behavior. Although, the fox-eared Egoist sure had an incredibly flowery way of speaking, and Lucy found it uncomfortably frustrating. Strangely however, she wasn't this excessively aureate back in the cafe, maybe because both her and Sukoro are Orientals? Something to muse about.

Perhaps much to Bunga's disbelief, Lucretia was content to wait for Sukoro to finish his painting, a far cry from her seemingly impatient attitude just now. The petite Polymath sat back down at Schwarzritter's left arm as she watched Sukoro's pencil strokes. Fascinating, he managed to create a monochromatic yet photorealistic sketch of the Rafflesia, a meticulous perfectionism that Lucy knew all too well. It seemed they were more alike than she thought.

His sweat-ridden body, parched throat, and strained voice reminded Lucy of an event not too long ago, just this early morning in fact. A part of her was amused that their experience was mutual, but there was one huge difference, he succeeded in his endeavors; no stray birds defecated on his canvas moments before completion. Now that he was done though, she listened to what he had to say.

Hmmmm... a curious, yet expected trade offer. Schwarzritter and Starsteel were each Polymath's magnum opus after all. "Knowledge and progress should never be hindered by irrational paranoia, therefore I consider this an equivalent exchange and will accept your offer. However, I must make sure that the chest will have an installed function to repair the Starsteel Formulization should I break it, for both of our conveniences obviously so I won’t have to bring the chest back to you each time I solve the puzzle." Lucy nodded, then if Sukoro confirmed that said chest would be inscribed by such function, she'd continue, "In exchange, you may take Schwarzritter under your care. I will register your voice so you may command him as I can."
