Bio
Do not go gentle into that good night By: Dylan Thomas
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Name: Talik Gida Species: Lethan Twi’lek Age: 20 Gender: Female Rank: Inquisitor Master: Sith Lord Kallei (Deceased) Under Mentorship of Sith Lord Atroxa
Detailed appearance.
Like her twin sister, Talik is generally regarded as an exotic beauty. Standing at a height of 5'5" the girl has a toned body from years of training how to fight at the Academy. With some rather appealing curves to accompany her, Talik is something which draws attention where she goes. Something which the girl is rather content with, as she wants to ensure her enemies and allies all know that it was she who did those actions. She dresses in a mixture of black robes and armor that are meant not to be bulky. This of course meaning that while the armor is flexible and the opposite of bulky, it will not afford as much protection. The girl can be rather vain at times, and as such typically dresses in a way to ensure she looks good for the occasion. Her orange eyes typically are critical as they look over others, and her expression one of superiority as she sees herself a step above just about all other creatures. Talik's tattoos are very similar to those of her mother and cover almost the entirety of her body.

Possessions:
Fury Interceptor "Black Rose": Lord Kallei's former Fury Interceptor, taken by Talik once she discovered her master's demise. It was formerly named Dark Hammer under her former master, but Talik has rebranded the ship. It is colored jet black and tuned so there is minimal external lighting. Otherwise equipped pretty standard, the thrusters, and shields have been augmented for moving faster and handling harsh climates. It houses two speeder bikes in the cargo bay, as well as a revolving inventory of cargo meant for usage on various missions. The Black Rose is also equipped with full living quarters for the captain of the ship, with upgrades to be a bit on the luxurious side and even contains an exquisite bath. Something which Talik is particularly fond of having aboard. A modified pair of Eclipse Speeder Bikes, with a single mounted cannon sit in the cargo hold. The crew consists of imperial personal loyal to Kallei and her apprentice, along with a small set of droids aboard. A single M6 Series Imperial Medical Droid, single X-2 series Imperial Astromech Droid, and four Sith War Droids, Mark I. It also houses the ability for a few imperial soldiers to be brought aboard.
Wardrobe: Talik has a rather large wardrobe to satisfy her desire to have outfits to look good no matter the situation.
Unique Saber: Talik posses two curved hilt lightsabers, which she often dual-wields in battle. These sabers link together at the hilt to form a dual-bladed Saber Staff. The sabers are meant to easily link and de-link during combat.
Various Adventuring Gear: Talik posses some gear not typically associated with a sith, such as a grapple gun and the likes for retrieving holocrons within old ruins and the likes.
(Optional)Known interests of the candidate.
Linguistics of the Galaxy: Talik has a known interest in the linguistics of the galaxy, this being some more of personal interest than of furthering her own goals.
Combat Styles: Talik has shown in an interest various combat forms, constantly improving herself in using the force, lightsaber, unarmed, and blaster based combat to ensure brute effectiveness in the field.
Sex: Talik has no hesitation in engaging in some of the more... primal indulgences that go along with this. Typically she aims purely for the casual end of the spectrum, a satisfaction of her needs with no emotional attachment. Occasionally one may arise, and in those times they must also be dealt with, permanently.
Jedi and Sith History: Talik has an interest in the history of the Jedi and the Sith, finding it useful for understanding and exploiting both sides to know where they came from. Not to mention, it is a topic she genuinely finds interest in.
Holocron Hunting: Talik finds satisfaction in hunting down and recovering the lost Holocrons of the Sith. The more remote, dangerous, or well hidden a Holocron the more exciting.
Born the younger of the two twins to Sith Lord Atroxa on the Imperial planet of Korriban, Talik was found to be force sensitive whenever her mother tested the twins just after they were old enough to receive their sith tattoos. Pleased with the results of that test, Atroxa kept Talik at her side while Vasani was sold away to a Hutt on Nar Shaddaa. Her young life was very quickly straight to business before she was sent off to the Academy. Atroxa trained her daughter from a young age, tutoring in the basics of saber combat as well as the ways of the force. The goal of this being to ensure that her daughter would turn out to be anything except a disappointment in her time at the Sith Academy. In order to ensure that Talik stayed in line, Atroxa ensured that the young girl knew about the sister who had been sold away to the Hutt Biothem. Using this as a threat towards Talik should she ever fall behind in her studies, or try to resist the daily training. Due to this, Talik grew up constantly trying to please her mother, while also being assured that she was going to be superior to those within the Sith Academy when she entered. This, in turn, developed and eventually turned into the attitude of superiority that the girl carries herself with these days.
In the Academy, Talik was shown to be rather competent and above the average point of most of her classmates. This, of course, being due to the tutoring and training her mother instilled from a young age. A sith pureblood within in her class, Hitû Datea, soon came to be a bit of rival towards Talik. Both were ahead of their classes, but both also carried attitudes of superiority. The resulting rivalry became rather vicious and fueled by hatred for each other. This continued to grow as the Academy had the students start practicing against each other in the form of sparring. During these sparring matches, Hitû quickly discovered that Talik had not particularly built up a resistance to telekinetic attacks from the force. This led itself to the pureblood's little gang of classmates using this tactic to push Talik around in the hopes of wounding the girl. Thus, forcing her out of a spot where she could feasibly compete with the pureblood. Growing annoyed with their tactics, Talik continued to study and work yet harder at the Academy, working on and vastly improving her telekinetic defense. This all came to fruition towards the end of their years at the Academy, when she had finally managed to build herself to a point she could resist the attacks of her would-be bullies. Along with her vastly improved combat skills, the girl decided that perhaps a bit of revenge was in order. Over the next couple of days she hunted down and beat each of the little gang into submission, forcing them to acknowledge her as stronger than Hitû. When they had all been taken out of the picture, she turned her attention on the pureblood and gave him a dose of the medicine as well. Though she waited until the final sparring matches of their time at the academy to do so, combining her defense with the usage of Soresu to create a rather potent defense against him, which once he faltered turned into a brutal display of Ataru.
The result of her revenge in the ring and her training at the Academy was that Talik captured the attention of a Sith Lord just about the time she was graduating at the age of 16. Sith Lord Kallei, one of the mystery sphere of influence. Her rival from the Academy had been taken under the wing of a Sith Lord by the name of Ryutz, a rival of her Kallei herself. Under her new master, Talik practiced and developed her skills further while also ensuring Kallei's sphere of power steadily grew. The two worked well together, dropping would-be threats to the Empire while also recovering some of those lost secrets held within Holocrons. At times, Talik was even trusted by her mentor to take on solo missions. This, of course, led to the occasional failure in her assigned missions as Talik's short-fused anger was starting to show through a bit. Most of these situations being something like the girl losing a target after her rage cost them information, or she was outsmarted after being incited into violence. She also lost a holocron along the lines of the same principle, but despite this, she was overall a rather successful young apprentice. Her master working with her to use the short-fused anger to gather strength within the dark side, utilize it to draw even more power from the force and destroy her enemies.
The most recent mission that Talik was sent out on was to ensure a revanite sympathizer was... silenced to stop his treacherous teachings from spreading further. Sent out on her master's ship, the Dark Hammer, to ensure that this was resolved in an expedient manner. The girl succeeded on the mission and was rather efficient in the manner, heading back towards Korriban within about two days of being dispatched on the mission. Though things would not seem to be going well on the homefront, as her master was not responding to her hails onboard the ship. Though the reasoning to this was soon found out when she arrived at Korriban where they were supposed to meet once more, only to find evidence of a battle in the ruined building. Along with the corpse of her master left in the middle, clearly killed by some of his rivals. Deciding that she would pick the bones of his power sphere's corpse, she first claimed the ship as her own and made its crew aware of who was their new captain. Shortly after, she started to realize that the power sphere had already been claimed and taken by the apprentices of her rivals. Moving quickly, Talik had the ownership of the ship, now dubbed the 'Black Rose', confirmed to be hers. Then set out to try to find her next assignment, or maybe even a new mentor.
However, the Twi’lek did not find herself a new mentor. Instead, it was taking on one job after the other. Recovery of Holocrons, removal of political dissidents, assassinations of foreigners posing a threat to Imperial Operations, and evening the occasional chance to put down rebellious cells. During this time, she also set about amassing Lord Kallei’s former assets. Securing what wasn’t picked over, and then going after the one who had stolen said assets originally. Imagine how pleased the young Sith was when she finally discovered the one who had taken that power to be none other than her rival from the academy. So, she made arrangements. Soon enough, they were tasked on a mission together due to certain strings she had pulled. The mission did not go as was planned, when her rival had apparently decided that instead of infiltrating the small cell of Revanite Sympathizers, he would simply destroy them with bomb. The young pure blood did not escape ‘his’ trap, as the bomb detonated with Talik was still offsite. Killing the man.
At least, that was how she reported the mission going. Truly, that some hot blooded pure blood had decided to act on his own, especially one as prone to acting before thinking as her rival was not something that would seem suspicious to many. With her rival no more than a pile of ash among the ashes of the sympathizers, Talik set to work. Savaging his former sphere, those he stole from her master and what he had earned himself, Talik claimed all of that power for herself. Her ruthless efficiency allowed to girl to step above the ranks of a mere Apprentice, and set her well on her way towards climbing in the ranks. Now closer in power to a Lord than Apprentice, Talik has recently been named an Inquisitor. Many eyes are upon the young girl, as she has shown a rather meteoric rise in power, yet not the signs of collapsing on herself as many who had grabbed power before had done.
Vasani can be described as an exotic beauty by a large portion of the galaxy. Beautiful in every right by conventional standards, the girl is about 5' 5" in height, with an extremely athletic body. One which she earned through none other than spending her earlier life dancing for the amusement of Krembal's patrons. Though she has a flexible build and athletic body, the girl does have rather pleasant curves in the right places to keep the eye on her. Her orange eyes are piercing, something many find attractive. Though these eyes are also windows into her soul, as one can usually tell how the girl feels at any given point by simply peering into her eyes. Her body is covered in black sith tattoos, standing out against her red skin and the only reminder of being the daughter of a sith. Her outfit typically consists of clothing which fits her form and complements her appearance. Both because she likes to look good, and simply because it is sometimes easier to move in such clothing.

Vasani'Brinme was the firstborn of the two daughters of Sith Lord Atroxa and born on the imperial world of Korriban. Born a mere few seconds before her twin sibling, the girl was not long for life among her mother and her sister. As when the two were still young, just after they had received their sith tattoos like their mother, they were tested for their force sensitivity. Upon finding that the older of the two was not force sensitive to any degree, the child was quickly sold into slavery by her mother. The Sith Lord chose to sell her daughter outside of the empire in part for two reasons, the first being that the sale to the hutt outside of the empire enacted a favor which she needed. The second being that the Sith Lord did not much want the shame of having a non-force sensitive daughter to be known. Therefore, after the sale in secret to the hutt Atroxa passed off a lie that her young child had died early in her life. This, along with the favor being the removal of an inconvenient imperial encroaching on Atroxa's political territory by Krembal was what finalized the decision to sell to Krembal. So Brin was sold to Krembal, a crimelord based out of Nar Shaddaa who offered a rather good price for an investment that he knew would later come to bring him rather good profits. With that deal set in stone, the daughter was soon send off towards her knew life as a slave under Krembal the Hutt. Here it was ordained that she would be raised and that her days would be forever in service to her new owner, the sole being in charge of her life.
Growing up in a Hutt's grasp was not exactly the most pleasant of childhoods. Her early years were spent learning how to speak various languages to assist in translating for the hutt, as well as learning how to be his personal server. She was tasked with ensuring his cup was never empty, and that he always had gorgs stocked that he could eat whenever he particularly pleased. It did not take the girl long to pick up on the various languages and tasks that she was assigned. During this time, she was also continually manipulated to be steered away from anything that could begin to resemble free will. The lessons on how to perform as a dancer for the hutt started to begin during these formative years of her life. As she grew older, more attractive and more skilled as a dancer the girl quickly became a favored possession of Krembal. For she was what most of his patrons considered to be an exotic beauty, and would work as something as a status symbol for the hutt. So she was relegated to dancing, and having a place next to the hutt on his dais. As such, she soon also took up translating the languages she knew for the hutt and soon became a face that most of his regular clients had come to know well.
At around 14, Vasani started to realize that not everything she was experiencing was exactly... something that she liked. When asking about the freedom that she had observed patrons coming and going with, she was quickly informed that such was not her life. In response to her questioning, Krembal had the girl beaten and punished for daring to ask such questions. Over time, she slowly started to realize that the world she had somehow come to accept was falling apart and see was starting to see the ugly truth. Where once she had thought she was seen as a servant, something to appease a lord, she started to see that she was property. Of value along the same lines a rigged slot machine that ensured money for the hutt was of value. A deep rooted hatred started to grow within the girl as she started to crave an ending to this life. To the fear, pain, and the treatment she was starting to realize was not an aspect of life she wanted to simply accept. Instead a hunger for the freedom she saw others having started to grow within herself. A desire to escape the shackles that held her down now.
At age 16-17, the young twi'lek started to act out against the hutt, against what most would consider to being better judgment. Desperately grasping for chances that might result in her release, as she started to figure that perhaps if she was no longer his favorite she would be moved away from the creature that she found so vile. Yet this proved to not be the case, as the hutt decided to give her a little freedom to see if that would inspire the girl to be a bit more loyal to him. Of course, this quickly resulted in the slave attempting to escape from the casino before being stopped at one of the main entrances by one of Krembal's enforcer droids. From here, he had her brought back and kept at his side at all times. On top of that, she was drugged with some of his own supply to ensure that she stayed complacent. It was also a punishment he felt the girl would hate, and one he was certain would teach her a lesson. This treatment went on for nearly a year until she had just turned 18, and the hutt finally felt she had learned her lesson. As after the treatment, she seemed to be behaving and acting exactly as he had wanted her to be. Although in reality, the young slave was searching for the next opening that would take her away from this vile creature.
The chance came only a matter of months later, at the grand auction the Hutt held in his casino. During the auction, while many of his guards were occupied with those attending, a rival sent a squad of Mandalorians into the casino with the intention of burning it to the ground. In the chaos that immediately followed, along with the outbreak of a fight between Jedi and Sith in the casino, Vasani seized her chance for escape. As blasters fired and the chaos grew, the slave girl managed to grab a heavy blaster pistol off one of the fallen guards. She used this chance to turn on her former owner, finding out exactly how many shots it took to kill a hutt. Then she fled the casino, stealing a Striker-Class Starfighter left behind by a Bounty-Hunter on the strike team sent in who had not survived. Not long after, the girl was intercepted by a gang of pirates, who she convinced to take her in as part of their crew. As the girl had lied about her skills in the starfighter. Through much studying and time in her quarters spent browsing the holonet, she learned the basics of how to fly. Then through actual experience with the crew, she honed her skills to be quite adept.
Eventually, her crew had a run-in with a Jedi going about the Galaxy. Airus was the Knight’s name, and he recognized the young girl from the casino. The Jedi managed to buy the young Twi’lek out of her contract, and helped her get away from the pirates and back to the Jedi. Here she stayed for about a year, excelling in the training as a young student. It was discovered she had a strong natural connection to the force. Though her martial skills lacked, the girl managed to excel enough that it was decided she would be sent on her way to learn as a padawan. Sent to Ryloth, her skills in a fighter were not forgotten as she was tasked with running escort on a supply mission. Then using that very escort mission to get to the surface and meet her new master...

Kara stands at about 5’7” and has an athletic build to her body. Her proportions are just that to fit conventional beauty standards as what a ‘perfect’ woman happens to be. Typically, Kara likes to dress casually but in an outfit that matches and still looks good. Though sometimes this might be as simple as a pair of jeans and a simple hoodie. Still, she tends to dress up a tad bit more than that, and often favors lighter colors that work well with her green eyes and dyed-pink hair. Though most people would really know Kara for her cosplay and modeling career, as well as some of the high-society events she attended while dating Lex Luthor. Here, she is often in much more elegance, with dresses that would be befitting of most supermodels.
One thing that almost will never change unless it absolutely has to about Kara’s casual looks, is that she favors converse-styled shoes. While there is a deep reason around it being the brand that she was first able to afford for herself, there is also the simple fact that she thinks they can go with just about any outfit she puts together. She also typically keeps the same golden earrings, shaped like little star’s on her ears. A gift from her best friend’s, Verra’s, mother when she had turned 16.
When acting as the hero, Sol, Kara has a rather specific costume she chooses to wear out in public. Though unlike plenty of other heroes, Kara’s outfit is not made of advanced materials that are overly meant for fighting or being a superhero. Rather, it's made of the same material which one might use to make cosplay outfits. While high quality compared to most normal clothes one wears around on a day to day basis, the material is nothing compared to that of other materials used by the superheroes. The entire outfit is made from the same stash of material which Kara uses to make the cosplays she is known for wearing. It's something that she applies in order to create the outfit which she is so commonly seen wearing.
Sol’s outfit primarily consists of a purple color, though it does sport golden gauntlets and boots made to look metallic. The outfit is made up of a tight, armorweave-looking top, which is skintight and allows for movement while still showing off a little bit of her body. Then it goes down into a skirt ending just above the middle of her thigh, from there a bit of her leg can be seen before the long bodysuit-like material that goes up to just below her knee appears sticking out the top of her golden boots. She also wears gloves on each arm that go up to just below her shoulders, and have golden gauntlets over the end.
Sol is often seen as almost being carefree and relaxed when going around doing her superhero work. Often with a reassuring, friendly, smile on her features. Her eyes always seem to be alight with the joys of life, and hope can clearly be seen in her gaze for each and every person she helps. Her shoulder-length, pink, hair is typically worn down as she is running about. Overall, she appears as a young hero who rather enjoys being able to do exactly that, hero work.

Cooking -
Kara is an extremely adept cook, having had to help out with a bit of the cooking at the orphanage which she grew up in.
Baking -
Kara is an extremely adept baker, having had to help out with a bit of the baking at the orphanage which she grew up in.
Languages -
Kara is fluent in English, Japanese, and French.
Cosplay -
Kara is a professional cosplayer, and has skills in both the creation of the cosplay outfits while also being adequate at acting to fill in the parts of the character she is cosplaying.
Video Games -
Kara is a rather skilled gamer, and absolutely will stomp your K/D into the ground. Except in fighting games, where she will utterly be steamrolled by somebody even just mashing buttons.
{Superpowers}
Super Senses -
A Kryptonian’s senses after such prolonged exposure to a yellow sun are enhanced to the point that they can see and hear events even from orbit. They are also capable of seeing through walls, x-ray vision, and thermal vision.
Superhuman Speed -
While not able to go as fast as a speedster, Kryptonians under a yellow sun are able to move at speeds that are seemingly impossible to beat unless a speedster. Their stamina and reflexes are also enhanced to adapt for this speed.
Superhuman Strength -
Along with the speed obtained from the yellow sun, Kryptonians also become impossibly strong. Their strength is seemingly incalculable, as a result of the yellow sun that seems to power them like some sort of super-battery.
Invulnerability -
Another ability that comes as a result of the yellow sun, Kryptonians are seemingly invulnerable to all sorts of damage. Of course, there are still attacks that can wound Kryptonians despite their seemingly-invulnerable state. These attacks are either very potent, or magical in their nature.
Flight -
Kryptonians are capable of flight, and extremely fast flight at that. Their blistering speeds at which they can fly means the Kryptonians are capable of being anywhere on the planet in a matter of minutes. They are also capable of flying in space, and even surviving that harsh environment without needing to breathe.
Enhanced Mental Processes -
Their physical properties are not the only properties enhanced within the Kryptonians, their mental capabilities are also enhanced. This means that they have exceedingly good memories, allowing them to learn things in near record time. They also are generally regarded as super-intelligent among humans.
Heat Vision -
Kryptonians are capable of channeling solar radiation and firing beams of it from their eyes, an ability that many refer to as Heat Vision. The impact of this beam is capable of causing explosions or melting straight through many objects.
Gene Tailoring -
Kryptonians ranked higher in the castes of their home had access to better gene tailoring. This affected not only their appearances, but also resulted in the abilities the Kryptonians gained from the yellow sun to be slightly altered at times. In the case of Sol, it causes her hair and eyes to glow a slight green when using her powers. Her heat vision is also a sort of neon green.
Protective Aura -
A unique trait due to her genetic tailoring, Sol is capable of channeling the solar radiation in a different manner than just heat vision. Instead she is capable of using it to form a protective barrier in a 6 foot radius around herself of the burning radiation. This is capable of blocking energy attacks coming in and kinetic attacks (such as melting bullets). However, this ability is exceedingly strenuous upon the user. The more damage attempted to absorb, the more it drains Sol. Stopping something such as an explosion will cause her to either drop the barrier or fall unconscious shortly afterwards.
{Limitations}
Dormant Power -
While Kara’s suite of powers seems impressive to most, due to her prolonged exposure to the yellow sun Earth orbits, Kara’s not yet tapped into her full potential. This is because Kara spent most of her life actively trying to hide the developing powers, and acting as if she were just like anybody else. Only two people ever were told about her strange abilities, Verra and her Mother. Though even that was a bit of an accident, as they found out when at a theme park and one of the jump scare robots in the haunted house had its upper body punched clean off.
Her flight speed maxes out at around Mach 1.5, while Kryptonians more skilled in their abilities would be able to go significantly faster at her stage. Similarly, she cannot move on the ground nearly as fast, maxing out at around Mach 0.75. Her strength is still monstrous compared to most, though she would be significantly struggling at the moment to hold up a full Boeing 737. Her heat vision is not yet at its full potential, but still a force to be reckoned with. The protective aura is an ability which Kara has yet to discover she is capable of doing.
Inexperience -
Seemingly an obvious weakness, but Kara has never attempted to be a hero. So her inexperience comes heavily in hand, as she might not make the right decisions at the right time. With her amount of power, this is a problem that could very easily lead to her hurting the very people she is trying to protect. She also does not particularly know how to fight, so one matching her in strength and durability could manage to overpower the girl rather effectively.
Kryptonite -
A side-effect of her genetic tampering, Kara is more weak than most of her kin to the effects of Kryptonite on Earth. Its mere presence in her immediate proximity causes her powers to drain, and even starts causing searing pain. Kryptonite entering her body could very realistically kill the young Kryptonian if not removed quick enough.
Magic -
Like all Kryptonians, Kara is particularly susceptible to magic when it is used against her.
Telepathy -
Like all Kryptonians, Kara is particularly susceptible to telepathic powers when they are used against her.
{Personality}
When wearing her costume, Kara is a very hopeful young hero. She has a seemingly bottomless good heart, one that shows every time she is active. Sol is the kind of hero who at one moment would stop a bank robber, and the next would be giving food to a homeless man on the streets. She loves the hero life, being able to finally help others and do something about the crime that roots deep within the back alleys of the city. Always seeming confident like nothing in the world could possibly stop her, and a confident grin always on her features. In her eyes, there seems to be an infinite amount of hope hidden behind her eyes. Her mannerisms seem to portray a relaxed persona, making jokes and seeming to ‘talk’ to those she is stopping. That being said, it is also very clear that the girl loves her city, and everybody in it. When others are put in danger, Sol is reliably there to protect the inhabitants and does have hints of anger towards those threatening the peace.
Kara’s civilian personality is much more subdued than her costumed personality. Typically she is quieter and more reserved than she is as Sol. When doing her modeling or cosplay events, the girl is once more outgoing and even a bit flirtatious towards others. She is also highly intelligent, and kind hearted in nature. She can be a bit stubborn at times, and even show a bit of sass towards others. Yet she always tries to show respect towards others when she can. Of course, those damn catcallers on the street still get a middle finger by way of response or maybe even an insult thrown their way.
She also has a habit of trying to spend as much time around those few who she considers friends as possible. While some might see this as a bit… strange, to Kara it is simply a subconscious need to be reminded that she isn’t alone. This was the unfortunate truth of growing up in an orphanage, the poor girl had always had that deep seeded fear that nobody wanted her as the years went on without any sort of adoption. Although life at the orphanage was not all terrible, as Kara did rather quickly discover that she had talent for cooking and rather enjoyed the act. So when her chores were usually associated with making the meals for her fellows at the orphanage, the girl was rather happy to oblige. This, of course, is something which still carries over to her today. As when friends come to visit, or vice versa, its usually safe to assume that Kara has whipped up some form of tasty snack.
{Place of Origin}
Kara Dru-Zod was born in a rather strange place compared to most of her fellows on earth. The girl was originally born onboard a Kryptonian ship drifting through space, before she was sent away on an escape pod by her mother, and arrived here on Earth.
{Background}
Born aboard a Kryptonian military ship, Kara Dru-Zod is the sole (living) descendant of the final ruler of Krypton. Zod the Mad. Her mother being a consort of the mad ruler who he had brought aboard the ship as he fled the dying planet. The ruler of Krypton was eager to see an heir brought into this world, with small delusions of ruling Krypton still lingering in the mad ruler’s mind. As such, an heir or heiress was critical to ensuring that his rule continued on after he was no longer the ruler. However, things would not go as was planned for the ruler of the dead planet. However, the young girl remembers nothing of this parent or life onboard the ship. As shortly after she was born, her mother put her child into an escape pod and fired it away from the ship. An act that proved to be her final one, as Zod murdered the woman in a fit of rage after he discovered what she had done.
The pod hurtled through space for a few months before it finally found a home on a new planet within the Sol system. This planet, Earth, was the third from a yellow sun at the center of the system, which would prove to change the baby girl’s life in ways one simply couldn’t imagine. Her escape pod came down in the dead of night in the center of Yellowstone National Park. The pod crashing down in a small clearing where it scared the hell out of an unfortunate pack of wolves, and was found by the Sentry not long after it crashed down due to the noise the impact had caused. Carefully, she had removed the baby from the strange piece of technology when it started to make a strange noise. Barely having enough time to get the child of range, the pod overheated and exploded due to damage it had sustained upon re-entry. From that moment on, the Sentry decided that the child would be raised in the orphanage as a normal human, not the strange being she knew it to be from the odd technology it had arrived within. So, she was taken to an orphanage in Keystone city, run by somebody that the Sentry trusted with such a secret.
For much of her young life, Kara was no different than the other orphans that she lived amongst. A story was made up about her parents dropping her off because they simply couldn’t afford to have a child, and wanted her to have a better life than what they could provide. Even from this young age, Kara made a lasting impression on those around her. Always so full of energy and life, the girl was ever inquisitive. She wanted to learn about everything she could possibly get her hands on, and wanted to befriend just about every other kid living among them. Despite being such a friendly little child, Kara was in her fair share of fights with some of the others that lived with her. Most of these fights coming up because she stepped in when others were being picked on by some of the older kids. This became a recurring theme for much of her childhood, and often enough led to incidents of other kids picking on her for trying to step in.
Over the years following these incidents, Kara began to cool down a bit from her constant fights, settling into the roll of sweet yet shy girl. Not long after starting these lessons, a billionaire from Keystone City itself, Norman Osborn, seemed to get involved with the little orphanage. Donating a large sum of money towards the place so that it could be improved and offer a better quality of life to those living within its walls. He even arranged for a few of the older children, including Kara, to be enrolled in a rather high-end private school located in Central city. The generosity of the billionaire being something that Kara found truly inspiring as a little girl, and desperately wished she had some manner to pay it back towards others. The idea for how she could pay it back came not long after when she went with her newfound friend from school, Verra, and her mother to see some new movie that had come out. The movie, as it turned out, being about a superhero stopping crime and helping save the day against a maniacal madman. All of this while helping those who lived in the city. Delivering inspiring messages to each of them, and giving the young Kara the idea that someday she wanted to grow up to be a superhero like in the film. Thats how she would help all the others!
Yet it seemed hell would come to earth before the girl could even dream of becoming a superhero. Kara’s dreams fell away as she continued to suppress her powers to fit into her school, taking up the role of the shy nerdy introvert who Verra had apparently adopted. Slowly her dreams faded into just being a fantasy as her life continued on without much of an incident. Except, of course, when a haunted house spooked her so much at a theme park she punched the robot’s upper half off in front of Verra and her mother. That had been an event which took alot of explaining, and eventually resulted in Kara confiding her powers in the two. Yet things seemed to fade again after that, save for the occasional flight late at night when she convinved Verra to come along with her. School went by, Kara had dates with a boy or two, a girl or two, she worked a boring ass job at McDonalds over the summers. Truly, a mundane life for the young girl of incredible ability. Then everything suddenly changed and took a turn for the extraordinary in her life. She had been sitting on her bed at the orphanage, debating what to wear out for a date later that week with a boy she had been tutoring. Malcolm was his name. Then the TV in her room displayed a sudden flash from the news about a terrible derailment happening of the very train she knew the boy took home after school. Within seconds, Kara was out of the orphanage and rocketing towards the sight of the crash. Although she arrived much too later, as the disaster had already finished. The passengers and their belongings lay strewn across the ground, and a quick look around told Kara all she needed to know. They were dead. The memory still haunts Kara, as she clearly remembers the looks of all the bodies strewn across the ground and the terrible sounds that plagued her the next few weeks of people mourning those they lost that day. The day where Kara was helpless to do anything to protect the others despite her extraordinary abilities.
This of course galvanized the college-aged girl, bringing back to her mind those fantasies of being a hero who could prevent these tragedies. She brought the idea up, hypothetically of course, to the woman running the orphanage she lived in. Though she did not know the woman knew her origin and abilities, and was surprised by how ferociously the idea was shot down. Quickly the girl was talked out of the idea by one of the few people who she truly saw as family, as the woman was simply trying to protect Kara and keep those powers hidden. Still, the idea of becoming a superhero was now firmly at the forefront of her mind once more, as it had been for most of her young life.
When it came time to apply for college, Kara knew she had to do something to help others. Her dreams of being a superhero still driving her thoughts, and thus influenced her to move towards the path she chose in her schooling. She chose to become a lawyer, thinking that by taking this path, she could both ensure those doing harm would be put in jail, while also defending the innocent in court when they could not afford it. During this time, she dyed her hair from platinum blonde to the pinkish color she is known for in the modern day as a way to differentiate herself. She also got heavily into cosplay around this time, making costumes based off the anime, comic, movie, video game characters, and even some superheroes she so loved. This distraction allowing the girl a brief bit of time to just be herself, and enjoy time without thinking of the whole ‘help all the people!’ thing, something she felt was important to avoid becoming jaded. Being a rather attractive girl, this of course started to gain some attention for her. In turn, this led to the girl establishing herself on social media then from there she was contacted and brought in for some professional shoots. Soon enough, Kara was working as a model and a cosplay model, while grabbing the attention of more than a few individuals. One of them being a young man with promising potential, Lex Luthor, and the two quickly found middle ground then became quite the item. Things progressed quickly and with passion between the two, with Lex buying Kara a townhome in a nice suburb of Keystone and the two moving in together. Though this only lasted about a year, before the couple got into the most high intensity of fights and Kara quite literally threw Lex out of their home.
It was then that she decided to dive further into her studies in law, and started to discover that things weren’t quite as good as they had seemed a few weeks ago. Through the study of recent cases, and what she could hear around the city, Kara found that crime was starting to see a significant uptick. Metahumans were being hotly discussed, and her best friend was in a coma following the explosion of the particle accelerator. Then some strange group of metas started committing murders, and Kara quickly realized the world was teetering on the edge of an explosion. That enough was not being done to protect people, and keep the peace. Here, Kara decided enough was enough. She would personally get involved in helping with those very things she saw lacking. Kara took it as her chance to be the light in the rapidly darkening world that had emerged from the explosion. Using the skills from the years of making her cosplays, Kara designed a costume for herself. Using the name Sol, after the sun at the center of their system which she felt strongest when it was shining, and because she decided that she would be the world’s light. She then prepared to move out and become the hero she had longed to be for so long. Yet… plans got delayed as she received news that Verra had woken up from that coma. Then with the discovery of Verra’s own abilities, it wasn’t long before the two had made costumes and decided to strike out as heroes to protect the cities they loved.
Sure, the world was full of darkness and crime had spiked following that terrible explosion. But now, she had the means to become the light for the world. To bear its burdens so that it might smile one more day.
As you can probably guess by the name of the interest check here, Legacy of Heroes is just that: A story about heroes. Legacy of Heroes will be the story of an Earth where vigilantes and people with impossible powers have just started to truly come into the public image. The RP will evolve over its course, starting from the heroes just starting out to becoming legends in their own rights. The universe of this RP will change along its course, responding to the actions of you, the players and their characters. Legacy of Heroes is based in a DC (As in the Comics) universe, though there will be influences pulled in from Marvel and stuff which will be created for this RP. With all this in mind, I do hope to see a varied cast of characters appearing in the RP, stepping up to carve out their places in History. Hopefully, we’ll even make a fun story along the way.
That being said, onto the part you people really care about: The Story Premise!
There have always been stories of heroes. Stories passed down from generation to generation, consistently throughout all of recorded history. Stories of people who seemed to accomplish the impossible. Ranging from myths about demigods completing a set of labors to appease a pantheon of Gods and Goddesses, war stories of soldiers doing the impossible to save the day, urban myths, all the way to stories created for the entertainment of others. Yet, as with every great story, there are always hints of truth woven into the grandiose tales of the impossible. Though the truth to these stories is a bit more present than most would suspect. The truth of it is that people with impossible abilities have been around almost as long as humanity itself. Although they have been quite rare, and in recent times have been kept deep under wraps by the governments of the world. Though things have changed, and with it more with these impossible abilities have come to this world.
Only six months ago, the massive particle accelerator created by one Harrison Wells in Central City exploded on the night it was activated, seeding the world with a massive dark matter wave that hit every soul around the globe. This wave caused something deep within many of the people hit by the wave to awaken. These people have gained impossible abilities as the effects of that dark matter explosion washed over their bodies, and made them into something… more than human. Yet there are others whose abilities always existed, those who gained them from experiments, other worlds, or even magic. Even more, there are those who have simply decided to do something about the crime in their city. People with all kinds of abilities and those without have suddenly found themselves thrust into a new age. An age of heroes. These would-be heroes are only now at the point of either discovering their powers or finally putting on their suits for the first time to try to protect their cities. Yet even more of them have either turned to a life of crime or are simply too afraid to use their abilities.
In the twin cities of Central and Keystone, there has been a new wave of crime that has left the police force baffled at how to deal with it. A new group has appeared in the cities, well, stories of a new group have surfaced in the cities. As the police have been completely unable to find the perpetrators of these crimes. The stories from eyewitnesses tell about people who have been able to do this like shoot beams of energy from their eyes, walk through walls, disappear from view. Along with this, are stories of an orange blur around the city as well. Though not quite human, as many fear this to be some strange phenomenon that leaves bodies in its wake. Many are scared of these new occurrences, although the official statement is that these stories are nothing more than urban legends. Still, there are those who know that something is happening within the twin cities. Those who might just choose to make a stand.
So will you be one of those to take on the mantle of a hero, and stand up to protect those who cannot protect themselves? Will you face your destiny as a hero?
Basically, this RP will follow along with our protagonists as they are just starting out as heroes and through their journeys as these heroes. Where the heroes’ choices impact the universe overall; who they save, when they do/don’t show mercy, and much more. How this RP will turn out is ultimately up to us, the players, and the repercussions from our actions will surely be felt throughout the RP’s universe. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't have a couple of surprises planned for the RP as it stands. We will be focusing on the twin cities of Central and Keystone Cities at the start of this RP.
Marvel-based, DC-based, or your own creation styled characters are all welcome! With that said, a full range of cast is highly encouraged and welcomed to join the RP. The range of characters from heavy hitters to street-level heroes is what we are hoping for, as the range helps keeps things interesting, and a variety for character interactions. We hope that you will be enjoying your time here, and if there are any questions about the kind of character you want to play, feel free to ask here, or PM myself, or either of the CO-GMs! We also can answer more questions about the setting/RP, in general, should you have them!
Leave a post if you're interested in playing a role in Legacy of Heroes!
We do have a discord for the RP to come to hang out, so if you’re interested in the RP, we will PM you the link after you post interest here in the thread!
In this section, I’ll be going through a bit of the setting of the RP. It’ll be handily divided into details about the world/cities we will be starting in, followed by the current state of the world (recent events), then a general history of the world. So without further ado, let's get rolling:
The RP will be starting on New Years Day of 2020, on the border between Missouri and Kansas, particularly in the twin cities of Central and Keystone City. Along with Kansas City just 18 miles north of the twin cities. This does include various small towns that make up the suburbs of these cities, not just the proper cities themselves. Each city is impressive in its own right, with Kansas City being in a similar state to its real world counterpart. The other two cities are similar in both scale, and quality of life. So, we shall begin going through the highlights of each city.
An unexpectedly vibrant and glittering jewel within the heartland of the US, a city of a dozen names and nationalities stands as a representation of the "New American Dream". Skyscrapers crowd a busy downtown district with high-profile tech companies each jostling for attention, as well as the myriad of clubs, shopping centres and exclusive residences. With how new and brilliant much of Central City looks, a first-time visitor would be forgiven for thinking they had accidentally stumbled into Star City, Metropolis or even Silicon Valley in some places. It's all thanks to the efforts of a string of mayors and governors of the city's home state, a plan that has spanned two decades to transform what was once a rather sleepy glorified residential district for Keystone into a true twin city.
Much of the life of the city can be found in the downtown district, where the buildings quickly eclipse those of the suburbs and even compete against Keystone across the river for the light of the skyline. Here can be found the headquarters of many growing and already established tech companies such as Mercury Labs, Lundgrau Intelligence Services, STAR Labs, Apple and Microsoft's Midwestern offices among dozens of others with both their own buildings and sharing others. It's not just business here though, as with the relatively young average age of the city hovering around the mid-twenties, the city streets are active well into the night. From the neon of dozens of vibrant clubs catering to the bustling college population to the "hole in the wall" style bars off to the side it can be guaranteed that no matter what time of day it is, there's always something to do.
Nowhere is that most obvious though than what has been referred to by many as "The Silicon Strip", a long boulevard along the main strip of the city. Lined by the glow of a variety of shops selling everything from shoes to iPhones to pizza by the slice and even a car vending machines, the road splits either way to give space for Central Plaza. Built in a way to be the midwest's own take on Times Square, the plaza since being completed has been the center point for business, tourism and almost every other facet of life within Central City.
From the plaza, past the competing tech companies and nestled along the river that separates the city from Keystone though is one of the many modern landmarks the city has come to call its own. Though now a scar on the city and a bitter reminder of what happened six months ago, the STAR Labs Particle Accelerator still dominates the landscape on the western side of the city. Scaffolding covers much of the outer surface, a vague attempt at repairing the building that had been touted as the future of science, where most people are more interested in the red flash sometimes seen just out of the corner of their eyes than what Harrison Wells had tried to do.
Elsewhere among the highrises and crowded city streets though is where another of Central's many attractions sit, and for a good many a home away from home. Centered around what remains as one of the few reminders of the city's past, the so-called "International" district is home to multiple blocks dedicated to one nationality or another. It had started in the early years of the city's founding, where Chinese immigrants settled in order to work on the railways for Keystone, then refugees of the Great Famine seeking a way west, and over the years more and more from varied events across the last nearly two-hundred years. No matter if it's Liaoning Block, Little Dublin, Korea Town or the varied Hindu communities, each have brought something to Central City to make it a more culturally rich and lively city.
Beyond the hustle and bustle of the city the suburbs are slow to taper off, forming more of a sprawl than its sister city across the river. Lively communities present themselves around the three colleges just outside the main city. To the north towards Kansas City is the largest and almost a new city in its own right, the township of Morgan with the tech-focused Central City University as well as the Isaiah Morgan Academy, a prestigious private school for the elite and wealthy. Further east and on the border of the Central City municipality is Missouri State, a rather sleepy and low-key college with a broad spectrum of classes and with a quieter, more relaxed community around it. Finally, in the south is Siltwood.
One of the other remnants of the old Central City, Siltwood sits between the main city and the Ozark Highlands. It still bears many of the hallmarks of an older town, with brick buildings lining more rustic boulevards filled with small family businesses and the odd residence. The only new addition is the recently constructed Lundgrau Community College, funded by Raymond von Luneburg and serving the residents of the twin city region with a more technical skill focused college.
Keystone City is a very old city, tracing its roots all the way back to the Louisiana Purchase. Over the years since, it has been a growing and maintained an important role in the U.S. Industry. Much of its history is heavily related to plantations, then the cattle drives of the old west, and is ever intertwined with the railroad. As the world neared the cusp of the World Wars, Keystone city quickly became a central hub for production industry. In the years since, several major Aerospace and Car manufacturers have kept their central hubs within the limits of Keystone city. The city overall can be neatly divided into four unique sectors. Downtown, Historical, Industrial, and Residential/Financial.
Downtown Keystone(located in the south-east quadrant) is where much of the young live in Keystone city resides. Here, one can find Whiskey Row, where a multitude of bars have made their home along a single strip. Along with this, downtown also plays host to several nightclubs, movie theaters, and the whole likes of entertainment. Nestled in the heart of Downtown, however, is Keystone University. The college is well known for its law, medical, and historical fields. Where multiple leading experts in each of these fields claim Keystone to be their Alma Mater. Downtown Keystone is also heavily populated with malls, and skyscrapers from the businesses that seek to connect with the youth by having their headquarters so nearby. Most notably in downtown keystone, is the futuristic-looking behemoth of a skyscraper that is the home to Oscorp.
Historical Keystone (located in the north-east quadrant) is where the history of the city is kept. Here, one can find museums with countless artifacts, along with the few remaining ranches anywhere near the city. Historical buildings are kept up to date, and a few are even still operated as their original purposes. City Hall is also located within Historical Keystone.
Industrial Keystone (located in the north-west quadrant) is where the vast majority of the production that built Keystone takes place. Here, car companies such as Tesla, Ford, and Chevrolet have massive factories here which pump out new vehicles in massive quantities. Aerospace Companies such as Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, and Lexcorp also have their own heavy production facilities located in industrial Keystone.
Residential/Financial Keystone (located in the south-west quadrant) is where the vast majority of houses, apartments, and townhomes are located in the city. Thats not to say no businesses exist here, as plenty of malls, shops, groceries, and the likes have made their homes within residential Keystone. Though near the border with Downtown, is where much of the financial blood of Keystone lives. Here one can find the headquarters of a few banking companies, the federal reserve, and a multitude of other companies inhabiting the high-rise skyscrapers that dominate here and downtown Keystone.
Apart from these sectors, Keystone is surrounded on three sides by suburbs, and on the fourth is the river separating it from Central City. Keystone is everybit a powerhouse city, though its average population is older than that of its twin city.
Kansas City is generally regarded as the lower class area of the three cities. Direct questions towards the GM team about Kansas City until information for this section is provided. (The GM in charge of this section is currently experiencing internet issues and cannot update as of this moment.)
Current State: The current state of Earth is one riddled with change in the last six months since Harrison Wells’ particle accelerator changed the world after it exploded on its activation night. While for the most the world is in a very similar state to our own, there are truly some deep seeded changes taking place. After the dark matter wave washed over the world on that terrible night, changes within many began to manifest. In the coming month, there was chaos as rumors of people with odd abilities started to surface online. Abilities that had only manifested since the night that the wave washed out over the world. The rumors floating online about these people quickly dubbed them as ‘Metahumans’, and their stories have torn through the masses like wildfire. Some envy these people, yet others fear them greatly. Especially with the strange occurances of crimes or disasters that simply could not be explained without the implementation of a metahuman into the stories. As the stories continue to spread, so does the instability and mess of emotions that comes along with the stories.
In recent weeks, there have also been rumors of these metahumans taking more… hostile approaches. With there being growing concerns about robberies, and criminal activity taking place around the city with relation to metahumans. Very few have seen the individuals behind these crimes, and fewer yet have lived to tell the tale. While there is naturally a contingent of these crimes that can be linked to metahumans who have joined up with gangs, or struck out into a life of crime on their own, something else lurks in the shadows. A new group, not associated with any of the major crime factions within the city. A group whose agenda is not yet clear, as the unexplained crimes many presume to be their actions are of a rather wide variety. Ranging from theft, to assualt, and even murder. The few survivors that witnessed this group reported that this faceless enemy seems to have an impressive assortment of powers. Walking through walls, lasers being fired from one can assume to be their eyes, robotic limbs filled with weapons, and a host of others. While the police forces of the cities tend to keep downplaying the presence of this group, dubbed the ‘Horsemen’ by the masses online, many are afraid. Doors are locked, lights turned out, and fewer roam the streets at night with these monsters on the loose.
At around the same time the Horsemen first surfaced, so did reports of yet another strange phenomenon in the trio of cities. A mysterious blur appearing in the streets. Its coloring seeming to be orange and black, none are quite sure exactly what this phenomenon is supposed to be. It moves much too fast for any to get a good look, yet it still causes chaos in the streets. Official explanations call this phenomenon some sort of strange weather anomaly, though many are not completely convinced that it is that. Its actions seem almost purposeful, as if the blur itself has some sort of sentience. Despite that, none can guess at its true nature or what it wants.
In the last few days, tensions seem to be at an all time high within the three cities. Fear and uneasiness from the recent events seem to be just about to boil over. Protests in the streets against the Metahumans are common almost every day, with people demanding that the officials acknowledge they exist, and take them into custody. A danger to society they are called. The media stirs up these events by providing coverage of every protest, and even bringing some of the protestors on their shows. Some citizens are even attacked in the dead of night under accusations of being one of these Metas. Unrest and fear have put the police on edge, causing an increase in patrols, and a crackdown upon the laws to keep the order of the cities. Yet despite this, a massive uptick in crime has occurred in Central, Keystone, and Kansas city. This crime wave serves only to tip things closer to hitting that feared boiling point, one that many fear will not be easily recoverable.
So what are you going to do about it?
Brief History: The world of Legacy of Heroes is very much the same as the real world that we all live in. (Although some current events The Pandemic have not occurred). History lines up in very similar ways to that of the real world, though there are some key differences. The first major detraction is that the Lost City of Atlantis was proven to exist, with texts being found in Ancient Greece that seem to describe some ancient conflict, featuring Amazonians, Gods, and Atlantis. Then, upon visiting the location of this ancient battleground, historians did, in fact, find armor and weapons similar to those described in the texts as belonging to all sides. Though even with these historic finds, the location of the city is still very much lost to mankind. Many assume that these ancient conflicts were myths based off of a real conflict, and that Atlantis was simply a Greek State washed away in some disaster.
The second, being that Metahumans and those with enhanced abilities have existed in the past, although they were very rare. Those that did exist, were quickly taken in by their country’s government and relegated to the highest level of secret to ever exist. Their operations were used as a sort of Black Ops to act in their host’s interest. So secret and buried these operations were, that other countries were not even certain if people with strange abilities existed outside of their own borders. Even to this day, none have discovered the existence of these enhanced beings. Even though they were used more than once throughout the course of history.
Otherwise, the world is very much the same as what you have come to learn about in the real world. The United States, Russia, China, etc, are all existing in their current states and the same people are in power around the globe. Though do not expect real-world politics to come into play much during the course of the RP. Should there be any questions about the history of the world, feel free to ask a GM!
Guidelines
With the foreword and the introduction out of the way, we would like to take a quick moment to set some expectations for the RP and let people know how we do things. First and foremost, we aren’t really ones for hard and fast rules. we don't like deadlines, and we don't like posting requirements. Our primary goal in running an RP is the story and to see that everyone is having a good time with it. Because of that we are pretty flexible and do our best to work with people so long as they communicate with us, and will always encourage such from all our players. The GM team understands that as well, and while we may be a little more firm on things than each other and work a little differently, we all are in agreement about the end goal. But with all that said, we do have some guidelines that we would really appreciate people look to for as long as they are part of the RP.
- Primarily let's touch upon the status of the RP as 18+. We have done this for good reason, as our setting will have us dealing with some things that normally is a bit more niche with Superhero Content. Violence, death, drug-use and some sensual tones may be present at many points through the RP, as our focus will take us into some intense situations at times, and others on the diplomatic circles between nations where we might get our GoT on. This is of course not an excuse or permission to sprinkle expletives all over your posts, or to get especially graphic, but moreso as a warning. We will be watching posts to make sure that things don't get too excessive as there are more firm rules to abide by on Guild, but we have the hope that most of you who have come this far down the post will be mature enough to understand this and show restraint. That said, if the concept of mild sensuality, drug-use, violence or anything else of the post PG nature might be offensive to you, then we would kindly ask that you keep that in mind if you choose to apply anyways.
- Respect and communication. While we personally don't mind a little bit shown our way as the GMs, we moreso ask this for your fellow players. We are all building a shared story with our characters, who we hope will be interacting with each other plentifully. To that end, keep your fellow players in mind when posting and planning posts or arcs. Communicate with them if ever there is the possibility of their character being affected by something you have planned.
- Post Requirements. We hate them. No really, we dislike the idea of saying that someone has to post x number of times in a certain period or they're out, and especially despise having to stick to that ourselves. In our experience, nothing drains the creativity more assuredly than deadlines. As such there isn't one for submitting a character to the RP, and we won't demand of anyone that they keep to a posting schedule. All we ask is that when interacting with other characters, that you not only be respectful as asked above, but also be mindful of your own times of posting.
- Don't be a dick. Really, don't do it. If you do it, we'll have to do it, and we don’t want to be dicks. We prefer to be nice and have a good time, but if you decide not to be nice and to keep other people from having a good time, then we will not hesitate to remove you from the RP.
Character Creation
No sliders, but there are plenty of options. Seriously, we don't quite like the idea of restricting people to this or that, saying that one thing is completely not allowed under any circumstance or whatever justification other GMs like to use. We've found that on occasion people can surprise us with a character that at first glance should have never been approved, but after a bit of one on one, can be a strong presence in the RP. With a setting as diverse as superheroes and comics, there are so many possibilities to build off of, so many backgrounds for characters and ways to make something truly unique. To that end, before we get to the character sheet proper and we let you all go to await what wondrous possibilities you provide us with, we do have a few things we would like to comment on regarding characters.
- The Theme. As you may have noticed the world is very much poised on the edge of tensions boiling over into one big mess. That being said, the RP is still very much based around the heroes that we will all be making. So we ask, please make sure you are keeping within the theme of the RP. We will be welcoming a wide range of characters, but a character who might belong more within a horror movie than a hero role, or something like that might be looked at suspiciously. The more thought that is put into a character, the more likely we are to enjoy the CS and as such be more forgiving with it, so do keep that in mind.
- Rookies. As an important note, just remember that the core of the story is supposed to be about the heroes learning how to be heroes for themselves. The goal is to start out fresh, and evolve over time while building up who you are as a hero and character. While we will be allowing veterans, we want very much to limit the veteran characters. These characters will be judged more strictly, and if they are made will have been a part of the Government Black Ops teams mentioned in the sections before this.
- Faces/Appearances. As you will note when looking over the CS, there is both a place for a picture and one for a detailed appearance. We would like both done, and encourage everyone to take that as an opportunity to go into greater detail about their characters. More important here, is the subject of pictures used in general. We've become rather partial to face-claims, and especially the use of gifs and such to show how our characters express themselves a little more… Viscerally. This is by no means a requirement for anyone, and we won't refuse a character on the basis of their CS using a particular art style. Just… Keep it presentable. You know what we mean.
- Characters in general. All that said, we would like to say that a well-structured and detailed sheet will always go over better than one that is essentially a somewhat expanded concept. The character sheet below is one adapted from another RP that we happened to like because not only is it innately structured better than something we could do on our own, but provides many places of opportunity for the player to add detail to their character. Just don't get too involved in creating a character that you may not be as enthused to play as the character once it's done. As someone who has done that before, we would hate to see someone put a lot of effort into a well-written character only to dislike it and not want to RP as it.
Finally, the character sheet. You are free to post WiPs in the OOC, and I even encourage it so that we can all work together on things and help to ensure everyone gets as close to the type of character they want to play as possible. Just please do not post your character in the characters tab until approved. You may request a specific member of the RP staff to review your sheet in particular if you like by mentioning them with the posting of your CS. We will also be implementing an appeals process in the discord, where if you feel a decision made on your character is unfair or doesn't necessarily hold up with prior decisions, you can invoke either a GM appeal or appeal to the accepted players. Do note however, that any character that is denied through such a process is denied with prejudice.

Mandalor > The Liberator Year Four, After Re-Synchronization
The situation was good, the Mandalorians had decided to hear her plea and help her save Vasani. The twi’lek was happy with the results of that meeting, as she quickly made her way back through the halls of the building towards her gunship. Originally she had planned to make a detour home, but with needing to gather some of her own and the apparent word that Xarthas was visiting the Liberator to restock her, the girl felt the need to return to the Lucrehulk. However, she was not expecting to find two mandalorians wearing very familiar beskar'gam outside of her ride back towards the ship in orbit. She felt a smile spread across her features as her pace quickly picked up to close the distance before she embraced the one in the deep red armor for a long few moments. ”Ord’buir. (Papa Ordo)” She said softly, hugging the man who had taken the place of a father in her life after those terrible days on Coruscant. Releasing him and taking a step back, she then hugged the other Mandalorian. ”Ba'vodu A’den. (Uncle A’den)” She said to the other before also locking him in a tight hug.
Once she released him, the twi’lek looked between the two before for a brief moment before she knew why they were waiting for her. ”I can’t ask either of you two to put your lives on the line for Vasani. I know she is aliit (Family), but you two retired years ago. She’s i-” She started in before being cut off mid sentence as Ordo tilted his head slightly. A tic that Talik knew he was about to interject his two cents on the matter at hand. ”Ad’ika (Daughter), you already said why we have to go to save her. She’s aliit (Family).” He said firmly, having never been a man of many words. Almost on the tail of him falling silent, A’den spoke up. ”Not to mention, we’d love a chance to blast some clankers again.” He said before turning towards the two Magna Droids in the gunship behind him, and pointing. ”Offense intended.” He said as the twi’lek gave an audible sigh and rolled her eyes.
Not even a minute later, they were all aboard the gunship and it was getting ready to head out of the hangar. However, at that very moment she recognized a face talking to the very Mandalorian she had met earlier. The girl’s jaw set, and her right hand closed into a fist as she stared at the Corellian. For a moment she continued to stare hard at the girl as the side door to the gunship slid closed in front of her and they started to blast their way back to orbit. The silence was broken a few moments later when the magna guard behind Talik, and A’den, only a few seconds later. The Magna Guard, IG, spoke quickly and louder than A’den. ”Why is Aroma on Mandalore?” The unit asked, earning a look from the others, as the droid shrugged. It kept tabs on everybody Vasani interacted with on a daily basis, helped him protect the young girl. After a few moments of silence, A’den repeated what he had said before when the droid talked over him. ”Why, exactly, were you giving Vasani’s group member the death glare?” He asked, then when given strange looks by everybody on the gunship gave a shrug. ”What? I keep up with the news.” The man said with a low chuckle.
Back aboard the Lucrehulk, the girl assigned the droids to lead her relatives over to prepare for the coming assault, along with tasking her commander to rally some troops who would join the assault to rescue her sister. She, on the other hand, had a guest to go greet. Making her way quickly through the hangars until she found the familiar look of Xarthas’ ship, Talik let out an audible groan as she noticed the man striding confidently towards it with his B1’s in tow. Just as he was about to arrive, the girl barked out at the man and his droids. ”Oi! Deck Officer, you know by now that we DO NOT send the droids to unload Xarthas’ ship. This has been the protocol for years now.” She growled at him, already not being in the best of moods for dealing with the overzealous man’s antics. In a matter of seconds he had the droids turned around and apologized to Talik, scurrying off to maintain some other part of the busy hangar bay. Meanwhile the girl quickly made her way over towards the Mandalorian by his ship. As she approached, she extended an arm for a typical handshake as she spoke up. ”I apologize for our officer there, he’s just on edge after the damages. We all are. Did Killian ask for the resupply?” She asked, getting straight down to business.
Xarthas eyed the B1s pull back with skeptical eyes, waving them away with a mock gesture before turning his attention to the formidable Twi’lek. “Yeah. Killian gave me a call-” He jammed his thumb back to the Nightfury “-Oddball decided he wanted to take a flight up so we grabbed what we had, made a quick stop to one of my suppliers on Mandalore and then came up here. I hope whatever you’re up to is worth it Talik, I had to call in a number of favours I was saving for a rainy day to fulfill your shopping list.”
As if on cue Chuckles came down the ramp in control of a hover sled containing several shield generators, military grade, meant to work in tandem in order to create a dome. It was an oddly specific shopping list. “So, where’s the party?”
Talik nodded as she learned that Killian was the one who reached out towards the smuggler for the restock. It was the smart move, and she appreciated that the man felt comfortable enough to make those choices without her input. The rebel leader made a mental note to thank him for getting the restock while she was focusing on getting help. Looking towards Xarthas, she let out a long sigh and gently ran a hand along her lekku. A tic that was comforting and something she did when nervous. ”Its… personal.” She said, stingy with the details at first before letting out another sigh and gestures for Xarthas to move with her behind his ship and out of the way of others. ”Vasani, as in the Pop Star, is being held by Grevious. It’s just that she’s… Vasani is my little sister. I have to save her, but there is…. a lot of firepower protecting where she is. That’s why I needed the restock.” The girl admitted, knowing she could trust the Mandalorian.
Xarthas nodded. “Well we’ll get the resupply unloaded as soon as possible, Killian asked me to take a look at some fighters and the like. After all, you can’t do any better than having a Den work on your ships. After that, I’ll be out of your hair, unless there’s anything else you’ll be needing?”
As far as the restock went, she didn’t particularly need anything more from the man. ”No, can’t think of anything else I’d need. Unless you want to volunteer to go help try to save her.” Talik said as a sort of small joke as she looked over the other Mandalorian. On some level, she appreciated that he didn’t really seem to feel the need to express condolences or anything about Vasani being captured. It was nice, since most who said it never truly meant it anyways.
Xarthas shrugged. “If you are needing someone to slip you in under their guns, under fire and get you out faster than a Zeltron when you mention commitment then I’m your guy. With the CIS actively kidnapping people not involved in the war, not involved in their space I think it’s time I started getting more involved.”
Her eyes widened slightly as he responded, seeming to take the joke seriously. She thought silently for a few moments before speaking up. ”I will always welcome another to our cause, but the Mandalor has actually set up forces to help me get her out. I am tasked with bringing twenty people, so if you want to come along… I’d trust you at my side.” The girl said with a reassuring smile.
Xarthas looked back at the Nightfury and back at Talik. “Don’t overestimate my skills, I’m offering to get you in and get you out and help lay down fire in the meantime. In terms of working with a blaster you would probably be better to have someone else by your side.”
”I can recommend you as a pilot for any potential boarding action, but the final decision is in the hands of the Mandalorians. But, I’ll still take you with me, Xarthas, as a pilot recommendation. I’ll forward you the details on the meeting.” She said softly, pulling out a data pad and tapping at it for a long few moments. Then the details of where and when to meet the crew going on the boarding action was sent to Xarthas. ”If I see you there, you’ve chosen to go with us. If I don’t, I understand. Thank you again for the resupply.” She said before taking a step back away from the man. ”I need to rally my troops, excuse me.” She said before stepping away and turning to head back towards her bridge.
On her way back towards the bridge, the girl stepped off into a side room before closing the door behind her. Holding up her forearm, the girl tapped at a few buttons before the projector built into the forearm sprang to life as it connected to the person on the other end. ”Toryn? Are you on a job?” Came the girl’s voice the moment they were connected. She allowed a more friendly tone to slip into her voice than when she had been dealing with Xarthas, as she knew the man she was calling on a more personal level than the smuggler. Falling silent, she waited to see if he was available to help her with the mission to save her sister.
And instead of the hologram of the man the Lethan twi’lek was probably expecting, she got… a lake. Not all that surprising in retrospect— Toryn had a habit of redirecting incoming holocalls to the display on his helmet from time to time, mostly when he was doing something with his hands that made talking to a small glowy person coming out of his wrist a bit inconvenient, but not crazy enough to warrant throwing ‘em onto audio-only.
What was weird (for the Mando, anyway) was that the camera seemed to be level with the ground. Catching what looked like a bit of someone’s knee sticking out from just off-camera as well as a fishing rod that snapped into view with a little ‘Fwish!’ and a distant ‘Plop!’.
”Red...?”
That un-modulated tone confirmed it, he wasn’t wearing his helmet.
You’d have to know the guy to understand just how weird that was.
”I, uhh… no, actually. I’m at my dad’s.” Toryn finally answered from off camera. ”Why? What’s up?”
Toryn? With his helmet off? The girl wondered if she had caught him up to something before she noticed the fishing rod. Odd. She never took him for the fishing sort of guy, but that didn’t matter at the moment. ”I need you. Its… Vasani. Grevious took her to some blacksite, I tried to get her but was outgunned. Long story short, the Mandalor has offered to help me get her back. I’m supposed to meet him in a bit with 20 men to get her back, I wanted you to go with us. You’re one of the few I’d trust with this.” She said softly, already tapping her datapad to get ready to send him the details on where to meet up. ”Also, Vasani’s force sensitive. I want you there in case the Jedi try to take her, I don’t trust them yet.” She added, hoping the man would agree to join the mission.
There was a soft little bit of mumbling in Mando’a slightly off-camera, as Toryn drooped slightly… or at least, looked like he did from what could be discerned from the movement of his knee. Then his arm calmly crossed in and out of view as he gently put his hand on the shoulder of the person who’d clearly been sitting next to him just out of frame.
”Sorry, kid. Duty calls.”
A quiet, childish giggle that clearly wasn’t his followed that, and a little blue hand reached out and took the rod out of his own when he offered it.
”S’okay, Uncy Tor-Tor. Shit happens.” The kid off-screen responded, eliciting a chuckle from her senior.
.
”Catch a big one for me, will ya?”
”Aye, alor’ad!”
And then the feed went dead for a few seconds, before returning with the familiar t-visor of Toryn’s helmet as he now actually used his communicator the way it was goddamn meant to be on the way back to his ship. His voice now taking on a sharply professional edge completely absent from the previous exchange as he spoke;
”Talk to me, Gida, what’ve you got?”
Now she just felt like a terrible person, realizing that he had been spending time with family when she called him up about the mission. ”I’m sorry Toryn, I didn’t realize you were with family.” She said softly, just before Toryn spoke again.
”Don’t worry ‘bout it, Red.” the Jedi said with a little shake of his head and a shrug. ”She’s barely eight, I’ll have plenty more time to terrorize tasty Mandalorian fauna with my niece after we get your sister back.”
The girl remained silent for a few moments before speaking back up. She knew that since he had already agreed to come along, he would be wanting the details. She tapped her datapad and sent the details over quickly before speaking. ”I’ve sent you the details on when and where we are to organize. I’m not certain what the plan is, but I have to assume a boarding action. We’re going to boarding a CIS Blacksite I found where Grevious makes people disappear. I would expect heavy resistance, as they had a heavy fleet present.” She said, explaining the details of what she had noticed. ”If you need additional gear, you can meet us on the Liberator before we go to meet the Mandalor’s troops. We’re currently docked at the ring.” She added, leaving the offer open to the man.
”You know me, Miss Gida, I always come prepared.” Said Mando responded with a little snort. ”Buuut, I’ll swing by all the same. If memory serves, your cook’s fucking amazing, and...”
His head snapped back behind him as his niece shouted excitedly off-screen. Followed by a lot of loud splashing and louder cries of gleeful Mando’a.
”...Apparently you owe me a fried fish.”
”We’ll see you soon then, Bay 1-B will be open, you’re parking next to the TIE Advanced.” She said, the worry about getting somebody she trusted being lifted off her chest. ”Also, your relative there, what do they like? I’ll get them a gift to say sorry for stealing you.” She said pleasantly, then turned to leave the room she had ducked into as her comlink started to beep. ”Son of a- Toryn, I’ll meet you when you get here. I’ve got another call coming in.” She said quickly before tapping a couple of buttons to hang up on the Mandalorian and answer the call coming in from the bridge.
Excellent to see so much interest! I'll be yeeting out discord invites here in a bit.
Color me interested, just to ask though, are human/earth based characters the only limit to the game? Or can extraterrestial type entities be applied? Just curious about the wider strokes and what not.
Hey again, I remember you from back in the other RP. We are allowing some extraterrestial characters starting out. Though with this being just as we discover heroes, I would much prefer we not have the sudden arrival of the entire galaxy on Earth. We can chat more about your idea once you get in the discord :D
Do not go gentle into that good night
By: Dylan Thomas
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
