Big Red wasn't surprised by the lack of stuff, the only things the goblins probably wouldn't bother with were baubles anyway. From their looks they weren't vain creatures so what would they do with the ring from a finger, or a necklace of leather and pewter? Since no one in the group found any treasures or traps it was mutually agreed upon to continue deeper into the cave. Was this a natural formation, or had it been dug out by goblins? Or animals? Animals had a purpose, a den for their young and themselves. What was a goblins purpose aside from wanton destruction?

Delving into the next tunnel they went, the only light seeming to be the fairy and the reptilian mans torch. Up ahead was a shape in the darkness, which got him to clench his hand a little on the grip of his studded club. As they got closer it was shown to be the body of a male, a priest judging by the white garb. He'd see it before the others since he took up so much of the tunnel. "Well that's one from the previous group..." He murmured softly just as Druid Girl squeezed her way around him.

He didn't stand idle while she went to the body, he stepped forward, pretty much looming over her as she touched the body. It slumped over to reveal the damage fully, not just some spattering of blood. Considering his throat was torn out, but the front of his robes weren't saturated in dry blood, it might have happened after death. But it was doubtful.

The twangs of bows rung from up ahead making his eyes widen. An ambush had been laid for the group. That massive form leaned down fully, pulling Druid Girl into shielded embrace. While he moved he called back to Archer girl. "Get down!" When the arrows struck, or missed, he'd push Druid Girl back between his legs before grabbing the scruff of the dead priests clothes. Hoisting him up the dead youth would be a shield for them to proceed behind since a buckler was not nearly large enough to even bother trying to block arrows with.
Asura was keeping track of what was going on as he tried his damnedest to pull what he could from the undead reptile he was wrestling with. When nothing else would come he twisted and jerked, snapping its neck and twisting its head upside down. He left the mangled corpse and shifted away from some attacks, but still got pelted by a Mana Orb. It stung, but it wasn't that damaging.

Ardur finally came out of the pool judging by Trent's exclamation. At this point Asura had started to make his way to the front, obviously slower due to his exhaustion. Another Mana Orb pelted him, and then a splatter of Poison Spit. Ah, finally he got poisoned, joyous. He ignored his body to take on what was going on in front of him. More monsters were pushing up and it actually made him pause for a moment. There were not this many monsters in here from what he had seen. The amount of zombiefied creatures didn't match what they had seen.

The zombie goblins alone shouldn't have existed, all the living ones had all left the cave and any corpses had been eaten! The fact any zombie types were around at all was surprising since this was an enclosed ecosystem, slimes and rats wouldn't have left anything behind except maybe bones! So how were there so many non-skeletal undead? Was a core capable of summoning? Trent spoke up again, saying it wouldn't be that easy to flee.

"They'd trip over their own slow movers, we'd only have to worry about the goblins, rats, and wisps!" He said as he tried to direct his bodies acidic contents to try and digest the poison that was afflicting him. It'd be interesting if he could somehow gain a poison eating ability. Maybe it'd restore Stamina, but highly unlikely. [color=red]"Yes the sword moves, it's magical or something.

Once he got to the front he got to see what was coming towards them. That core had to be getting all this from someplace else. Did it pull them in from the surrounding area? Or was there sections of this cave that had long since collapsed but dug out in the single night that they had been out of the cave? While he was distracted Trent snatched up Undine and roared out a word. How did anyone even pronounce that? Another spell was launched but this time it was highly effective. Depth Charge huh? That would probably kill him even with a glancing blow.

A good bit of devastation occurred, bodies thrown about. Slimes popped, whisps flattened, flesh peeled away as if hit with a firehose. It cut a good swathe away, but it left Trent exhausted. Pseudopods sprung out and wrapped around the boys dangling arms and Asura began to drag him back. "Mother Slime, defend us. Ardur help me drag him, have Steve also work on defense after that webbing." He said. If he had been human he'd have easily dragged Trent along. But being this small monster with no true muscle or leverage made things difficult.
Big Red waited for the other two to prepare, which was essentially a change of current weaponry and Druid Girl summoning her pixie thing again. Did it glow that brightly? "If you two have a torch it'd be best to light them. Cave formations cast many shadows..." He said, his voice getting quiet. He didn't have much experience cave crawling, but he had been in a couple and remembered how shadows played a part in the exploration.

Honestly he'd have gone for a lantern, but they were too pricey right now and unsurprisingly fragile. Glass anything could buzz off except as a makeshift blinding tool. Either way it seemed they were all set, so he ducked in and kept the torch raised high. It seemed a partial hunch of his back kept his head free of the ceiling, and given the flexing of his back it didn't tax him to much. But it'd be a satisfying moment when he could stand up straight and give the old lumbar region a good crack.

As they walked he took in the colors around them. Lots of gray stone, brown dirt, blackish moss and fungus. The moss he scraped off some and tucked it away in his satchel to see if it had any use beyond kindling. He doubted it was a rare find, but hey who knew! When the ground leveled off and they came upon a larger more open area his eyes scanned the darkness around them. Piles of junk, a pile of bones, and the broken wheel of the hand cart from earlier. Or maybe it was a spare wheel for the farmer? But that wouldn't make sense, you keep spares on the wagons, carts, and carriages so you can change it and go right then and there.

Druid Girl was getting emotional, but it was to be expected honestly. She was in touch with nature and clearly had a good amount of empathy. "It's almost guaranteed to be the woman's wheel. On the way back we can bury her if you wish." He said as he used his foot to sift through the pile of bones, just to see if the goblins had left anything worth a damn. They seemed wasteful and not too bright. Archer Girl shhed the group which got a light chuckle from him. There was no doubt the goblins knew they were here, and that they were coming for them.

Still it was best they moved on, a casual sweep of the torch allowed him to check out the walls. He was looking for secondary passages, but there didn't seem to be any. Short of knocking and moving on each part of the walls it was clear. So he started forward, progress to make while Archer Girl laid down her arrow.
Big Red's eyes narrowed slightly when the javelin didn't penetrate the goblins body. It flew back almost as if he had hurled a quarter staff end first at it, which would result in a few broken ribs possibly but nothing life threatening. Archer Girl nailed her target as well, resulting in at least one kill in the first 'wave' of attacks. Which seems to have put the fear in the remaining two if their halted charge said anything.

They turned to flee, but one got pelted by another arrow, so only one got away. Getting out of the lunging stance he had been in he eyed the remaining goblins for a moment. Archer Girl was quick to move, going about like a hunter ending their snared prey. While she worked he approached the little green things, eying the one he had hit with a narrowed gaze. His ears twitched slightly, seemingly hunting for any sound other than the groups movements and the trickle of blood from the bleeding out goblins.

Druid Girl asked what they should do, a swarm in an open clearing would be bad. But going in to their home turf was also bad. "We'll have to assume their numbers aren't big since a previous group of four came here before us. He said before tilting his head to look at Archer Girl. He didn't mention how many of them were female nor the stories about goblins. "Unfortunately keeping them locked in there is impossible. They'll tunnel out, they have food since they've been raiding the farms, and judging by their teeth they probably have no problems eating dead bodies." He said, gesturing to the yellowed and rotting sharp teeth of the goblins.

"A small siege is out of the question. But for cave exploring we don't really have the best gear..." He said while eying Druid Girl's staff and Archer Girl's bow. But they did have smaller weapons, knives and a sickle. Reaching behind himself he pulled out a torch and dropped the multiple pronged spear. A few click clacks and the torch was lit up, the studded club in hand, and a more energetic look about him. "We need to go in and clear the nest, they're down five so that's a good start."
The brutal assault from three front-liners and a screaming construct, that almost got belted with a massive blade from surprise, seemed to put the fear into the soldiers finally. Those alive backed away and started to flee northward, that was fine. South the archers were getting pelted by the weird goo thing from earlier, and Cecilia was using the broken spear blades as returning projectiles. Interesting, but not enough to get the reptilian man to try for magic. Boomerangs existed!

But still, the soldiers were retreating except a dozen or so that were still fresh but seemingly distracted by fleeing allies and the archer predicament. But the thing was, with the archers distracted, the group should move now. "Start moving, hit the archers as you go if they start targeting you." He called out to the others behind him. His buffs weren't going to last much longer either, the glow about him was fading quicker than before. Was it because he had been injured so much? Was he actually tired? Most likely.

Still he proceeded, fully leaving the alley as he went for the soldiers ahead. The edge of his blade took on a yellowed hue as he charged. A big sword, a glowing edge, it spelled one thing for the bumbling soldiers that were trying to get to the group. "Cleave!" He growled out. Sure his blade was big enough to do it on its own, combined with his might as well, but this added a big more damage to the display. He was trying to dishearten the new soldiers to get them to flee as well.

The soldiers he struck were literally cleaved across their lower abdominals. Pretty much where the breastplates ended and a belt rested, a weak point, which was quite fatal when encountered by a behemoth. All his blade had to worry about was spines, clothes, and meat.
Kaze glanced at the smaller elven woman when she snapped her attention to him. Amusement and annoyance all at once was on her face along with a raised eyebrow. He just gave her a rather bored look until she turned her attention elsewhere. His kind weren't commonly seen outside of their territories, but he figured they were common enough to not warrant such strange reactions. To him elves were a copper a dozen, same with humans. The fleshy people were everywhere.

The mage, Dion, that Guritag had told him about was trying to hire escorts for the forest. Said orc woman looked to be in thought, hiding her face in the shadows of her hat before looking up at him. He just gave off a shrug. "Numbers could be useful, and I'm not magically inclined. Something isn't quite right in that forest and magic could be a huge game changer. He rumbled out to her. Given his build, weapon, and gear he looked more purely fighter or barbarian than anything even remotely magical.

He gestured for her to go ahead before bringing up the rear to go right back into the building he just left. The smaller races seemed to like the comfort of booze and buildings. Introductions were starting to pop out, the elven woman was a marksman of course. Dion was openly a colder mage since he was cooling booze for the keeper. Guritag had mentioned earlier some of her prowess of a hunter and bard. Goat head hadn't mentioned what he was capable of, or he had missed it. But he figured another magic user of some sort given his clothing and that weird as hell way he spoke.

Well he might as well play this little game as well. "Kaze, and I'm a barbaric monk. I haven't met something that can't be cut apart of pummeled to death. I've also traveled a lot so I have some basic general knowledge of flora and fauna." He stated, he knew he didn't have the look of a monk but hey. Don't judge a book by its cover.
The confusion in Druid Girls thanks got a shrug from him. "Weapons break, so lead with crappy ones and reserve your better ones for tougher opponents or bad situations." He stated, ever the pragmatic one. Archer Girl requested one as well, which he made handily. There were plenty of hardwood saplings around and the scent of fresh torn up dirt would be gone by evening.

As time passed he periodically rolled in the dirt to keep the shine from his scales. The small bouts of breezes kind of blew the dust away and his coloration didn't exactly make sticking a bunch of plants on to be very effective. So he didn't bother camouflaging himself. Aside the fact he was the front-liner, he needed to be the one drawing the attention of the enemies.

The sky darkened as the sun sunk below the horizon and the moons became more prominent in view. Red was squatting behind a bush, but his head was still visible and so were his shoulders from certain angles. His ears twitched at the high pitched shrieky noises coming from the opening in the ground dead ahead. Out came a small green biped, big nose, long ears, oddly colored eyes, and a poorly cared for dagger. They really were the size of a young human child, the thing barely reached his waist.

It took a step or so out of the cave and yoink it was caught by one of the snares Archer Girl had laid out. Its yelling drew more of its companions out, another four actually. One approached to attempt to free the strung up one, but fell victim to another snare trap. It was unfortunate the cave was in such an open area, he knew of a couple traps that were pretty effective. The remaining three were wary now, poking at the ground with their rusty weapons.

It didn't take long for them to find him, he was red among brown and green! One pointed its small sword at him and cawed like a lunatic. Which got him to stand up and step out of the bushes in a rather calm and collected manner. He literally towered over these little creatures but he had heard they still just rushed at those larger than them idiotically.

The red behemoths arm drew back as he widened his stance. One foot leading way ahead of the other and he leaned back on the rear leg. That muscular arm bulged suddenly and the javelin he had made was launched with the retained power and forward movement of a hard lunge. The sharpened hardwood stick soared through the air towards the mid-range goblin while the fwip of an arrow went by to the rear goblin. Without wasting his movement his arm went down and grabbed the base of his make-shift spear and he waited for the goblin(s) to charge at him.
