Grunthor listened to the others while he massaged his hands. Everyone had entirely different skills, and orcs got skills from eating things, could he get their skills by eating bits of them? Also what couldn't an orc eat? Lazash was chewing on scales and feathers, probably from boredom, but she didn't look to be struggling. Drinking the blood hadn't done anything to her, could orcs just eat things raw? Could they eat bones and such as well without issue?

While he thought about it he laid his Elwet out next to the flames before nudging it in a bit. The others had prepared the other two, but he didn't know how to do that. So he'd roast the whole thing as is. It'd take a bit considering these birds were likely to have higher resistance to flames. Although...was that a skill or just biology? Was it everything or just the feathers and scales? There were a lot of questions floating around in his head now.

Lazash explained a portion of the fire-chickens. The stone could be used for fire starters, so like flint? Did that mean there was a chemical in them to start a fire like the Assblasters of Tremors 3? Or did they need a spark to work with to do those fireballs? Unfortunately none of them were capable of making armor, or clothing. They were from modern times, but there were hobbyists out there. But none of them were that lucky today.

The other two chickens were split among them, but he waved it off. He was experimenting now with his own to see what the best cooking method for them would be. Sure he was no chef, and he knew nothing about butchery, but he knew his way around cooking meat. He had vast protein intake when he was human. The only part he wouldn't even attempt to eat would be the birds intestines. No poop-chute for him thank you!

While he was practicing, Grunthor was listening to the others talk amongst themselves. Well, less practice and more drilling the movements into his new body while toughening the knuckles. Akeno asked what they all got for skills from the god who brought them to this world. Esfir, who was the older sounding orc, mentioned cold magic. A blizzard specifically, but he had serious doubts on such weather changing magic given outright. They were to young and inexperienced to have something like that.

"To you two returning, I'm Grunthor. I have Rapid Strikes." He stated as he blitzed his three strikes. The effect was immediate once it was over, a tiredness set in that he hadn't felt in ages. So it did take something to activate, and judging by how tired he was he might be able to do it twice more. Good to know, so wear down the enemy first then blitz them with Rapid Strikes. But still he kept swinging away, his hands were aching, the pain growing sharp on his skin. His head burned a bit from sweat stinging his wounds from the Elwet pecks.

Giving the tree a final thump he stepped back, shaking his hands out. "Does anyone know how to make stuff? We could use a bit more...armor I guess, than these rags we have." He asked, he was just a fighter. He didn't know how to do any of this stuff, but he could trade protection for stuff. Or just help about wherever he could like with the kindling for the fire.

Grunthor nodded in response to Lazash giving her name before she went about making fire. He watched her for a bit, so that's how it was done huh? Not like in cartoons where they just furiously rubbed sticks together. She mentioned draining the blood of the Elwets, which made sense. Blood had a coppery and irony taste and that probably tainted the meats flavor. So while she had the fire going he used the sharp stone he had to cut off the Elwets head.

Blood never bothered him and he had handled raw meat quite a lot given his previous life's bulked body. He had never beheaded a chicken though, so he was going in blind. Cutting meat, sinew, hey there was a spine in here! Cutting through between two vertebrae had the head off and to the side. Going to a sapling he wedged the feet in to let the blood drain with gravity while Lazash mentioned drinking it. "Nah, I've tasted enough blood in my past life. Not thirsty enough to go for it yet. He replied before the previous companions returned empty handed.

The old sounding one got to work with one Elwet, given her practiced movements he'd let her do the butchery. He decided a little training was in order. He had seen Akeno practice martial arts, but his own thing was much simpler and it had been ingrained heavily into his mind. Instead of practicing movements he went to a young tree, a tree with smoother bark than the older ones, and got into a classic boxing stance. His hands up, nearly tucked to his chin, before his right came out in a light jab. Having such smol baby hands sucked, the punch hurt, but he needed to deaden the nerves, toughen the skin, and harden the bones.

His jaw clenched as he struck the tree with another jab before his left came in with a straight. He was keeping the blows light so he didn't bust his knuckles, but hard enough to hurt his hands a little to begin the process of hardening his hands. "If you need a hand with something just lemme know. Assuming I even can help..." He said to the others while his fists impacted the tree. He'd work like he did in the old world, boxing first then kick boxing. If he fucked up his legs alongside his fists he'd be useless and he wouldn't even be able to run if he had to flee!

A thought and he tried to do Rapid Strikes to the tree. It was rank one, which meant there was a rank two and more. Did he have to use it on an enemy or could he use it on anything? His fists came faster in a three hit combo on the wood. Could he spam it or did it cost anything beyond a normal set of punches? The other skills he could have picked said they took stamina specifically, but what about this one?

Grunthor persevered and had continued hammering the sharp stone into the Elwet's head until it finally gave and died. It had gotten its own attacks in, but they looked far worse than they actually were. Head wounds bled like a son of a bitch. With a grunt he shoved himself to his feet, the rest had taken care of the other fire chickens, minus the one that had immediately fled. It didn't take long for everyone to start delegating things, the two wounded left behind to deal with the Elwet's while the others would go for the final one. Wouldn't it have been better for everyone to work on the birds?

Sighing he tilted his head back slightly so the blood wouldn't drip down his face, he didn't need to be blood blind. "I can see fine, I'm Grunthor by the way. So we don't go hey you." He said before following Lazash. Kindling and firewood he could do, you just needed dry stuff. Like branches and dry leaves or grass, maybe some bark. He wasn't entirely clueless about survival, he had camped before. But beyond that he knew fuck all.

The girl orc mentioned attempting to help with his head, which got a shrug. "That's fine, no pain no gain. I've been through worse." He commented while gathering what he figured would make for good burnable stuff. He was trying to focus on what the job was currently instead of watching the other two female orc runts run off after the fourth bird. Staying as a group and conserving energy felt like a better thing to do, but we'd see how it all played out.

I've asked him how much weight an orc runt can carry, we're good up to 60lbs
@Crusader Lord Mobile jello shots

It doesn't matter to me but gonna have to figure our how to make bandages or somethin cuz my dude be bleedin
Is fine, we're orcs. What orc does things orderly and non-chaotically?
Grunthor just watched Akeno as she clearly tried to think of something to say. He hadn't thought her weird, since he hadn't paid her any attention in the Brood Pit. Her actions were normal in his mind so he didn't concentrate on that subconsciously. The normal Orc Runts and the adults were the main focus since their mannerisms were so different. Loud, guttural, violent, and prone to anger. While he waited to see if she'd speak he glanced at a Jackaloupe out of the corner of his eye, without a ranged weapon beyond hurling a rock they would never get one. Or a snare trap, but he didn't know how to make one he just knew they existed.

More younglings came out of the woods-line, a pair of female orcs. How could anyone tell at this age? Even now they had more feminine facial features. Why did he know that? He was always reading faces and taking note of certain aspects, like old injuries that could be hammered into. Still they chattered amongst themselves, the whole gaggle of greenskins were all human before. What good is an experiment with just one test subject, right? He questioned the Goddess, doubting she would answer.

There was talk ot hunting and keeping what they got without returning. That was a terrible idea! Sure no one would come looking, but there were going to be far more than poison snake cats, fire chickens, horny rabbits, giant rodents, and mobile jello in this world. A caw from chickens erupted from the forest and soon a plan was made without his input, or confirmation that he would even work with them. "Some prep would have been nice since these bodies are so weak..." He muttered before following along.

Akeno barged through the bushes and came face to feather with four of the fireball spitting fowls. One was surprised and lunged back, one gave a warning cry, one made to escape, and one spat out a fireball. Zippy flames but nothing he could do about that. Lazash bolted in from the left soon after Akeno got the Elwet's attention. So he circled around from the right. A moment and Lazash was going for the one spitting fire, which would draw attention away from his position....probably. Digging his lil toes into the dirt he launched himself out of the brush.

Those stringy legs pumped with the speed of a kid on a sugar high as he went to tackle the Elwet that had given the original warning cry. Assuming he got the drop on it and brought it to the ground his Sharp Rock would be smashed down to the birds horned head and feathered neck to cause as much vital damage as possible.
