Given that those who are picking up on it have a supernatural sense of smell, no. Regular people don’t smell the shoggoth unless it comes out.
Still just waiting for Miyuki to either come along or tell Rebecca "go away, stinky"
"Like reality rotting."

That's fucking metal. I'm taking that.
Hey just cause Rebecca hosts an eldritch abomination within her in a symbiotic relationship bent on the binding of the Elder Sign tattoo doesn’t mean she doesn’t take a shower

Rebecca observed the better half of the pair of foxes return to her partner’s side. She wondered what exactly their relationship was, but only briefly. They seemed quite happy together. Rebecca soon felt as if she was intruding and that perhaps she had let her kindness get the better of her. But she was soon dissuaded of that.

The stomps of footsteps approaching from behind sent alarms up to her brain. She looked back and saw another resident chasing after a gremlin. He was heading right towards her. Her body acted on its own and swiftly side-stepped, resulting in the resident careening into the table and gracelessly flopping on top of it.

The plea for help was made. Rebecca’s answer was a blank stare at the food-covered clown before he excused himself and headed back to resume his pursuit of the devious creatures. Rebecca watched him as he left, only answering his earlier question when he was no longer there to hear it.

“If I help, these things are gonna end up dead.” She said plainly.

Rebecca looked back at Miyuki and found her expression hardened in that time. She could relate. She could sympathize. She could also provide a solution.

“I don’t think the cafeteria is a safe place to be anymore, and it surely seems as if it won’t be serving much food for a while either.”

Rebecca put her left hand out to the raven-haired kitsune. It was tough and rough. Callouses had formed from years of hard work. The tattoo of a wolverine wrapped in barbed wire on her left forearm was visibly marred. Various scars ran up it. Pockmarks and cuts and slashes from years of extensive combat.

“I read the rules. I look human enough to go into the city. I’ll get you guys some takeout and bring it to your room. That sound good?”
I see Miyuki doesn’t appreciate the candid causality of the humble jeans and t-shirt combo
How can my wife, who is a servant of the goddess of agriculture, be so cold and indifferent to the cime that is wasted food!? That rice was meant for eating, not being splatted on the floor! D:

Cause she knows there is always more where that came from. No use crying over spilled milk, but telling Miyuki that would be grounds for instant bone rearrangement.

There were many times where Rebecca had felt in danger. She was a soldier. It was her job to put herself in line of fire. The words her old team leader in Vietnam told her were tucked away in her head for her to call back on when she needed to. As Rebecca had watched the rest of the creatures exit the cafeteria to hunt down the pesky gremlins, she considered a small dessert for her menu later. Something nice and sweet would ease her into the new routine. Help loosen her up. A hot chocolate. Something like that would hit the spot. Especially with some whiskey.

Just as she had considered it, there was a commotion in the dining hall. Rebecca watched a gremlin make a proper mess of a tray of food and scamper off without a care in the world, as if he had been waiting very patiently to do just that. She felt an instant pang of annoyance and stared blankly in disdain, heavily considering reaching out with Athectess to wrangle the creature back. Something else pinged her radar instead. She turned and saw the brilliant glow of the nine fox tails and wasted no time in piecing together whose food was just made inedible.

As Rebecca stared, she contemplated her course of action. Sure the fox girl looked impressive with her display, but could she really take her if things went sour? She knew that Athectess could regenerate her from the smallest chunk of meat, even if it would take weeks to do so. The words came back. Shut the fuck up, Snake Eater. You get paid to get shot at. She knew there weren’t many creatures of her caliber that could take such punishment, but the threat of total evisceration was still very real. But still, someone had to make a move. And besides, Rebecca could relate. There were two things in this world that she would kill people over if they messed with: her food and her sleep.

Rebecca approached Miyuki’s table just as she was getting out of it. She broached the subject in her classic fashion.

“Rough day?” She asked, ready to get an earful from the kitsune.
I'm going to keep watching and waiting for a conventiant 'in' to reintroduce Eilidh. Because I don't want to outright leave but I also don't want to join in with this overwhelming chaos.

This is the perfect time to reintroduce. Teamwork makes the dream work.
Gremlins are truly unpredictable.
