@Zarkun so what do i have to do to qualify to be a MEC?
@Gisk the link i posted has the ability to post the finished mech and lancer make up in a text file.
@vietmyke yeah i think gisk wanted to start at a standard everest model at license level 0. I think a good thing to look forward to making eventually unless we start out at something else. You can make multiple loadouts though. So i recommend making your bad ass mech and the light beginer model.
tenitive interest. need to read more but to tired right now looking at heavy weapons. will talk more tomorrow.
Merik Roak

After the excitement boiled down Merik stayed at the gate while everyone else left. Stoic in his presence he lingered on the gate looking out towards what lay beyond in the forest and fields. He was left to his thoughts, some of the human soldiers lingered about but mostly kept to themselves other than the odd stare. “The orcs hadn’t come out yet. Maybe proposing a challenge to their chieftain in one on one combat was out of the question then.” His large tail wrapped around him as he sat down in a meditative pose.

He was flexing his magic while he sat and thought. Balthazar said this would help him train his magic. The small seed that sat in his hand slowly glowed green and with the occasional small crack and twitch of movement. A small flower began to grow and flourish to even bloom in his rough hand. The small thing made him smile. With a deep breath he began to process what had happened, what was happening.

“Then they must be clever, the bombs, the tactics, the caves, the tunnels…” quickly he stood startling one of the guards that stood watch nearby. Towering over the young lad Merik began asking many questions. “What do human lords do when approaching army come?”

Startled and stuttering, I.. I.. Uhh yes whenever something like this happens all the surrounding villages re-retreat to the keep.

Not seeming to care about the lad or how he felt he continued. “Humans stay in fort even with small attacks yes?” his voice bore excitement, his tail flicked back and forth, the frill on the back of his head began to rise. The voice in his head that had kept the lizard alive was screaming at him to run.

Um well yes. The uhh well… he didn’t seem too confident with what he was saying and shifted nervously. The uhh… the citizens of the empire will stay in uhh in the city walls until the threat is over.

Merik nodded, turned, and left. “Tell Rudoof that Merik went hunting inside the city. Merik will come with bell.” The soldier didn’t really seem like he understood what was happening and just shook his head.

Quickly Merik removed the shoes of his armor, pulled back the rock and leather hood, then made sure that the giant sword was secured to his back. Some soldiers mulled around but he did not mind watchful eyes never bothered him. He was strange and awkward so he would be strange and awkward.

Merik was hunting now, he knew the smell and the taste of orc and goblin alike. The meat of sentient beings was always more savory and flavorful then lesser beings, yet the prince told him it was not acceptable to eat such things. The notion confused him at first, what is dead is dead the spirit has left and the body means nothing. Placing his hands on the ground he began to move on all fours. His tongue occasionally sticking out to taste the air, his head occasionally pressing to walls or stones or the ground. Feeling for odd vibrations, smells, or sounds. Merik did not care about making a scene, he did not care about who he pushed or nudged out of the way.

Merik is a predator, a predator hunts prey and this predator was searching for goblin and orc. If they were using this as a distraction to keep them in the city, to throw small forces at them to keep them here. He will find them and he will do as the prince said, Merik will protect the humans and find those that could very well be digging tunnel's into the city.

Merik didn’t seem too interested in the goings on of the other soldiers on the west gate. The one he only assumed was in command was talking to him while the large lizard checked the fortifications keeping the gate closed. He did what he could to move problem pieces of rubble out of the way and was able to find a hand full of small round beams sharpened at one end. Clearly meant to help with fortifications but not being used right then. The soldier seemed to want to move him along but Merik would not be moved, “they were testing. Merik will stay here.”

Among the whispers of the other soldiers another voice popped up while Merik was gathering a few more of the beams. The wooden pillar’s looked more like small logs or sticks in his hands.

@Inertia"Prince Leonidas says we have to be at the keep, can't have you wandering around because, well, you know." The young man said to him. A cheerful lad and a fun one to scare or play with occasionally.

@LadyRunicSoon another had joined them before he could answer, the elf of their party. Someone he has tried many times to tell him where she comes from but always seems to change the subject on him before he catches on. But a friendly face none the less, part of the prince’s team. “Merik will stay.” The lizard spoke with a smile then sniffed the air, “Merik thinks this be good place to find fight. Hello Zanna.” The hello seemed strained but he was trying.

His instincts soon proved correct with the ringing of a bell, the enemy was coming once more. The walls where soon abuzz with the soldiers rushing up the walls with bows and rifles in hand, the thunder tubes always got his attention. He stayed were he stood only turning to look up at the walls when someone yelled incoming. The two stone boulders where an unfortunate sight, it meant they would have to go over the wall if the cannons couldn’t reach them.

The tremor of one hitting the wall only made him grip the wooden poles more. Then the other that came just over the wall hit the top and damaged a building. He only got a glimpse of Ruduf trying to help others out of the ruble on his way up to the top. What he saw when he got up there made him smile.

A large group of goblins coming toward them behind their shields. They had stopped for a moment and made a rudimentary shield wall. “More rocks will come careful!” the large lizard shouted. It only took him a moment to gauge the distance from him to the goblins. Holding one of the wooden pillars in his hand like a javelin the large reptile through the beam right into the middle of their formation. Then another and another laughing as he did it. Truly he was showing off his strength to the human soldiers near him.

Merik walked casually down the road or as casual as one can with his stature. The prince looked successful in his endeavor to knock out some goblin scouts and it would seem another young member of the group had a new friend.

@Arthanus"Merik what happened to your horse this time?" the prince asked.

Merik could only shrug at the man, “Horse not used to thunder tube.” It really was the only thing he could think of for a reason. The horse was a bit more used to him being around but was still on edge whenever they were alone. Merik just assumed it was because of him still being a predator.

The rest of the walk back was still uneventful, the thunder continued to echo from the other side of the city. As they drew closer more and more peasants began showing up heading for the town. It was a common practice, bring in those that can’t protect themselves and bolster the number of militia at the same time. The giant lizard put away his sword and followed behind the prince into the city. More people where starring at them now but he didn’t care.

Some of the others seemed to be doing something but they were all ordered to rest, Merik did not know why humans tire easily. Looking around for a moment the large reptile spotted the elder magic man he has seen time and time again by the prince’s side. Quiet when he needed to be but a good teacher, he has taught Merik many things from behavior to the world around them.

@HawthorneApproaching the old man Merik paused before him and reached for something under his armor. “Elder, Merik find strange plant for you.” Something Merik did like doing was to find some things while he was adventuring in the forest. Anything that was unusual or rare to him he would bring to the man. Merik doesn’t have a grand understanding of magic and to him it’s a way to help.

He pulled a piece of cloth out and unfolded it to show a pale blue mushroom that seemed to be emitting a weak blue light even in the daylight. “Did Merik do good?” he asked while holding it out to him.

If Balthazar did or did not take the mushroom Merik would still continue to speak loud enough for the prince to hear. “Merik will go to west gate, help defenses. Come get Merik if need him.” A small smile then looking down to the wizard once more. “Be safe Elder, Merik like stories. Want to hear more.” With a nod the large lizard began making his way towards the west gate through the crowded streets.

Merik nodded to the lively man and started off towards the town while the others were getting set. Looking forward towards the sound of battle the lizard stopped and looked back at all of them for a moment. Most had seen combat before few had seen him during combat. The prince and the others where always talking about something called morale and how it effects those that they fight with.

Merik drew his full blade. The sword as tall if not taller than most of the others that stood preparing for a fight nearby. The blade gleamed in the sunlight the prince’s symbol cast into the guard of the mighty blade. He held it straight out from him, the tip touching a tree. With a fast mighty swing he cleaved the tree in two showing the men his strength. Holding the sword up to him to inspect the blade Merik smiled. “Merik is ready.”

It wasn’t long after that Ruduf called for the advance, Merik rested the heavy blade on his shoulder and continued slightly ahead of the column just in case they ran into enemy forces that may be attempting to encircle the town. He was able to keep pace just fine even with the heavy armor and sword but he could still hear the others behind him talking. The prince and the others were charging ahead with others charging ahead of them. “Merik will keep moving towards the town, Merik will save the humans. Don’t you want to save humans Ruduf?” the lizard laughed while he kept moving. Laughing was a strange thing for him as it was something he learned from watching others.
