Roman listened to the man as the arena started to calm down. Apparently it was a short intermission or possibly the end of the matches for the day he wasn’t sure but everyone seemed to be getting refreshments or chatting happily with their neighbor about the two fighters and who did the best at what including some not so savory comments from some of the on lookers. The man next to him went quiet for a moment before he continued to speak.

Roman nodded along with the other man’s words. He had a few good points but it seemed that roman once again wasn’t entirely too good with explaining the situation but decided to roll with it. This was still a good way to learn about each other as well as each other’s customs and courtesy’s when it came to social interactions. This would be more than enough information to tell Erik so that he could relay it to the queen and prepare for a better and more understanding encounter.

“Ahh yes I agree, the craftsmen trade is something we do after trade routes are established and friendly relations are gained on both sides. No need to worry about our sailing capabilities, Sailing is just as much of a second nature to the Ravenwood clan as crafting. I am personally better at crafting then sailing, my sister Sasha Ravenwood, is much better at sailing then I am.” He paused for a moment before continuing.

“As for our leader, her majesty Queen Rosa Camilia and his majesty King Alixandre Camilia of the Varian kingdom and all of their territories, is who you speak of. I do believe they will be leaving soon but I will make sure that a message will reach them about your Lady Adiyan. We do have some of the best doctors in town as well if you believe that she needs further medical care.”

He was being honest about his words, even if he was unsure if there was enough time for the king and queen to possibly meet with this Lady Adiyan or at the very least one of their advisors may be able to stay behind. Roman would make a point to notify them of this to hopefully gain a new trading partner one that would likely value them more than the kingdom here.

“By landmass Varian is a little smaller compared to the Caesonia and Alidasht kingdoms but our populations are about the same. I find that the royalty and people in charge of Varian tend to treat our people with a bit more respect than the people who have the same roles here but I am a little biased. Yet just like us our country is always looking for ways to grow and build new partnerships with other far off kingdoms.”

Roman turned from him and back to the crowd, he knew dam well he was biased if it came down to it he knew that he could and would burn this city to the ground if they were ever at war. It was a scenario that he had gone over before in training, war games meant to test strategies and defenses even during peace time with the hope they would never have to be used. They even had similar strategies for Alidasht and Varian cities if they ever fell into the wrong hands or turned against the crown. It was a depressing thought as he did genuinely enjoy this city and the common people in it.

Such abundant variety for the capitol city, he liked the people he had come to know as friends but knew that if duty calls for it he wouldn’t hesitate. Now that the giant was thinking about how much he missed this place and thinking about the people of this place, he realized he may have been a little rude to Crystal earlier today. The lord still didn’t believe that it was that bad but an apology may be in order, would give him a chance to pick on the big guy again.
Agar

// So this is what hell is like //

Agar looked out from the entrance to the camp taking in the looks of the surroundings. He couldn’t help but take a deep breath of the mountain air. The leering and jesting from the big orcs on the wall was mildly distracting so Agar just paid more attention to his surroundings to get a better view of the place and get his bearings.

A small encampment nestled in a valley, a good defensible position but would be hard to escape if everything fell. Tall mountains to either side with thick forests, a clearing in the distance with a sudden drop off in foliage seemed to be a lake or swamp. Deciduous and evergreen trees spoke of mild winters with the snow barley visible on top of the mountains, temperate climate more than likely. Should be some good roots or undomesticated wild vegetables around and not just those roots he heard some of the others talking about. The small rise in the forest would be a good spot to make a small outpost or look out stand.

Another runt came up to him during his thought processes and immediately tipped him off as to his habit of humming, without wanting to get in a deep conversation about it with the other gate guards and random runts around he motioned for the orc to follow him with a nod to confirm both their suspicions. Agar then began to move in the direction of the loud crack that scarred those birds out of the trees earlier. He wanted to see just how out matched they were to the local wild life while being careful about it.

After getting a little ways away he spoke to the other young orc that he was just now able to get a better look at. A little shorter than he but not much, their skin color and hair color was lighter than his. They gave off a feeling of a happy and possibly carefree attitude at first glance. He didn’t think he had to explain who or what he was to this one based on their reaction to him humming earlier so straight to the point then.

“Agar.” He stuck out his fist for a fist bump greeting, “Formally Johnathan 45, army rangers and rancher out of Montana, killed by a semi-truck, you?” entirely blunt with little to no emotion or hesitation either it would make sense or not either way he needed to relay certain information to this one before continuing. “by da way I know I’s caught myself humming but we shouldn’t out ourselves and who we’s are to the rest of the tribe, I get the feelin that special doesn’t last long ‘ere might be more of uz out ‘ere too.”

He didn’t much care about exposing so much information to this one, if he wasn’t going crazy hopefully they would understand. If he was going crazy and this one wasn’t like him then he would just have to have a “unfortunate hunting accident” didn’t seem like the orcs cared to much about that any way.

"Anyway, I goin to see wat da big crack was." pointing towards where the birds flew away. "den wat yous want to do? me don mind." it was hard to stay away from how the orcs talked and he found himself dipping in and out of their speech patterns.

// New faces New places //

@FourtyTwo
“Wilco.” Ogre responded over the radio to his new objective. Rose was quick to highlight the new positions of the fuel rods in the ship as they approached. Enemy fire started to come in as they approached and he made sure to return fire and suppress anyone thinking they could get a round off. All he could do was hope that none of the coatings for the fuel rods get hit and contaminate the area. This place is already bad enough.

@LadyAmber
“Thanks for the ride chaos. Frigga I’m at the ship and pulling the two exposed rods into cover.” Moving to cover near the ship, rose highlighted the two fuel rods near his position. Neither was emitting radiation that would show a breach in their containment heath but still enough that you really didn’t want to be close to those things without proper protection.

Stepping out into the open bounding from cover to cover to get to the rods. Turning here and there to present both a smaller target to incoming small arms fire and return fire of his own that his squad mates were not able to get. Keeping one eye on the rods and the other on the mech making sure that the others kept its attention while he picked up the first rod and moved it to the designated staging area.

This continued again for the second rod move, shoot, cover, and move. Again and again until the second tube was secured, stopping briefly to make sure that mech wasn’t looking his way. Securing the last tube and double checking his surroundings he could see his team mate closing in on his position and he knew exactly what he was going to do as he stacked up just outside the main entrance and fastest way to the other fuel rods.

@BigPapaBelial
“Frigga your suits environmental seal better still work or else this is going to piss you off.” Saying this as rose highlighted an area of the ship’s hull next to him that would lead to the cargo area in the ship. Using the can opener on his arm Ogre quickly tore a fist size hole in the ship. Bringing his left shoulder up to the hole his shoulder mounted launcher loaded then angled itself to launch two tear gas canisters into the ship. “This should smoke out the rats.”

The canisters were long duration tear gas grenades that could fill at least half the interior of the ship with the irritant gas. “All Call sign’s be advised Tear gas has been deployed in the ship. Pick your targets as they come out for air.” He made the announcement as he waited for his armored companion who should be showing up any time. That way they could quickly subdue most of the resistance between their current location and the fuel rods. After that he knew her mission was clearing out the rest of the ship while he moved the rods outside with the others and loaded them into a vic. Just like any team they all had a job to do and had to trust that the others could do there’s.
@Zeroth yeah the discord stuff is fair and understandable compared to last time, just curious is all. although having less people will make this story a bit slower it does make it easier to keep track of things for everyone especially you lol. i think it should be fine as long as we open back up the roster again quickly if anyone dips out.

// So this is what hell is like //

Darkness, permeating eternal void of nothing. It wasn’t cold or warm he couldn’t feel his arms or wiggle his toes. He couldn’t open his eyes his senses couldn’t smell, hear, taste, or feel anything. Not even nausea at the weightless ness he was experiencing. Was he in a coma? All he could remember was the snow storm then a truck horn then nothing. How long has he been floating through this place. A voice interrupted his thoughts, he didn’t hear it like he thought he would, he heard It in his mind. A faint voice, a feminine voice then the opening of giant gates into a grand room.

All he could do was simply stare at what was happening before him and listen to her words. Words that were both soothing and powerful. She was speaking of another world and all he could think as his mind tried to rationalize and embrace this new information was think this was some kind of weird purgatory or a side effect of being in a coma.

“Some say that the Orcs were born on the battlefield; the twisted hearts of soldiers in trenches and mass graves, brought out by years of brutal conflict like a blooming flower in the warmth of spring. As if within the heart of every man or elf is an Orc waiting to be set free--the intrusive thoughts, the trauma within the soul, the battlefield that many soldiers never return from even after their bodies are back home among family and friends. I will hope that your experience with war was not so tragic.”

Field Scan - Rank I - Ingested Skill. Detect life signs around the user within 30 feet, and remain aware of them for 1 minute.
Familiar Bond - Rank I - Create a magical bond with a creature to tame it. Unlike Summoning, this often requires a great deal of time spent, and the creature must remain by the tamer's side. Rather than expending magic power, the proper resources must be present to maintain the Familiar's needs. At Rank I, only Tier I creatures can be persuaded to become a Familiar.
Channel Weapon - Rank I - Produce a special physical energy aura to increase the power and durability of a given weapon. Consumes Stamina as long as the aura is maintained, or until after a successful attack has made contact. At Rank I, the boost is roughly 5% the weapon's original qualities.
Danger Scan - Rank I - Detect non-living threats within 10 feet, such as hazardous terrain, traps, etc. Remain acutely aware of them for 1 minute.

“If it is any solace to you, the truck driver was not harmed, and though your family has been broken by the loss, they are well cared for by loved ones and friends...”

A thought pinged in his mind like wasn’t able to explain let alone the words spoken to him, he was told to choose one? The only thing he really understood from the list in its entirety was the first one and mentally selected it without truly thinking as his mind was lost concentrating on the fleeting words of this place and this strange lady. It spoke of his time in the war or maybe of stories long forgotten of war. He never was in trenches so to speak on deployment in the mountains and another with the villages he did do things he wasn’t proud of but he still did them.

She continued on with her stories and words, words like Aedven, orcs, knights, wizards, and magic. More about not being heroes but to see their potential, to understand all languages and remember their past. What did she mean by you shall be an orc, he remembered a few things from the time in the army but not much, just stupid brutes kind of like marines.

Was this hell was this what he deserved? He wouldn’t say he didn’t deserve it even with the good that he tried to do every day to get passed what he did. Then there was the last part, no injuries and a broken family? Was he truly gone then no coma just straight to hell? At least they were taken care of and now he can try to repair what he did to deserve this. As he continued to what felt like free falling towards some primitive encampment.

“Wake up recruit!” shooting awake mid sleep as he heard something from his past and immediately snapped to attention looking around and clutching his head. Momentarily caught between what was a dream and what was real trying to anchor himself to something. When something big began to yell at them and pulled him back to reality anyway “OI! WAKE UP, YA BUNCHA MUKHS!”. He quickly made his way out the gate when it was opened. It seemed that in times of stress he was now defaulting to memories of time spent in the army. he didn't have a bunch of time to think about what or who was in front of him but he did know who the big boss was.

A basic mission to test their abilities and show just how harsh the Orcish upbringing was. Sounded dangerous when all he had was a stick and sharp rock. Bring the prey back in one piece no time limit just get it done by the end of the day. So what if he got more than one then and ate the other? More than likely wasn’t a good idea if these orcs “shared” everything. For a moment all he could do was stare at the war chief and his beaten sword in thought before moving toward one of the exits after making sure he had his stick and sharp rock.

He remembered a few things from the goings on of the camp and the orc gossip. At least some of the edible plants seemed like they could hold him over for a little while but maybe he could just hunt something and drag it around till he hunted something else and ate that one instead? These strategies were simple and he knew he had to get these things first so maybe just knowing these things was good enough.

The sudden notification of the “quest” made him flinch for a moment Find something to eat and bring it back whole. Sounded simple enough. The list of targets was fairly big so he decided on random and just observe his new surroundings for a little while. Who knows by the way that weird lady was speaking it sounded like he wasn’t the only one sent here. Standing straight with a posture and walk that displayed purpose he made his way to just outside the camp and looked around. Deciding to stay there for a moment before proceeding.

As he stood b the entrance gathering the lay of the land and how it flowed he didn't realize he had quietly started humming to the tune of don’t stop believing by journey.

Time: 1530hrs

Mentions in order: @13org Mayet @JJ Doe Riona

Roman continued to watch the match in front of them, Mayet clearly had the upper hand and he was unsure if the she was trying to teach the other girl something or toying with her food. Her shift in posture and attack pattern made her strikes even more powerful and aggressive combining more fast fluid attacks with powerful momentum assisted strikes one after another. The fighting style required quite a bit of stamina that even he was impressed with.

Her lack of armor or protective equipment assisted with her fluid and powerful movements, anyone could see that. Even with that after each strike and each block feint or parry a little more of her blood lust crept out in every strike. The predator inside her showing itself more and more. He could see that even his new friend became enraptured with the fight. The weathering of blows was already beating down the defenses of the other.

Then finally Mayet changed up her storm of blows for one last strike, a strike meant to kill. The look in her eyes told him she was near completely lost to her instincts to kill. The next strike would do just that and he could see the man beside him see the same with the exclamation of something in his native tongue, he didn’t know what was said but knew the tone well enough. Letting his own hand go of the arm rest to make sure that the pistol he was reaching for was not used to end the fight. He had to admit that he wasn’t pleased with this loss of emotional control from the princess either.

Nala saw fit to warn her friend of her current thought process with a roar. This seemed to snap Mayet back to reality and at the last second pulled her strike from it near fatal trajectory. It didn’t even seem like the mediators of the fight knew what was just about to happen or paid to make the princess and her people out to be bloodthirsty thus hurting their image. Politics were always a tricky situation. Sjan-dehk sat down controlling his breathing and commenting on the situation as the crowd cheered and applauded the now finished dual.

“No she wasn’t in control there for a moment.” His tone was somber and he wasn’t smiling anymore. “These people are soft, they haven’t had to deal with a war in some time and their day to day lives are easy. They don’t know what true suffering is but you do, my people do. These people play war but they have never seen it.” Roman turned away from him for a moment to just sort of stare out into the arena for a moment longer before cheering back up again, a few of his internal thoughts seeping out in front of a stranger.

“Apologies as you were saying, yes we do enjoy importing new metals, gems, stone, and wood. Our people are self-sufficient but will not say no to new things to work with or new foods to eat. One thing we do offer is a exchange program of sorts.” Pausing for a moment to remember as it had been some time since he talked about the exchange, it’s not every day you meet a new representative from a kingdom. “With this we send two or three of our master craftsmen to your land to learn your culture and your craft and in turn we would accept two or three of your craftsmen to do the same. This is to grow the bonds between our people and kingdoms. To grow in knowledge of each other, to learn, to become stronger together.” he finished.
