Been on this site for 6 years, but was on the previous version that crashed. Found this site in its original stage not long after the fall of Quizilla forums.

Enjoy some deformed puppies.
As the troop traveled on, Miral found herself swearing as they were reaching the dead wood. It was getting late, and that meant that there were going to be all sorts of beasts roaming these woods. But they had to go through. If they tried to go around this trip would take almost a year. She looked to the traveling companions, trying to decide on a plan. She walked her horse back to the side of the carriage and, using her pike, burned a symbol onto both sides of the carriage, careful not to catch the whole thing on fire. It was a simple protection rune, but she hoped it would be enough to keep the beasts of the carriage, "If you know any methods of defense or offense that involves projectiles, it is going to be key at this moment," she said to the occupants of the carriage, looking around it to the woods. Nothing was stirring yet, but things here were said to have a conniving, malicious nature and would probably wait until they were deep in the throng of the trees, "Ryford, stay to the path. Even if something tries to lead you off it, do not waiver," she said firmly. Her cousin nodded, guiding the horses to the opening of the path into the trees, "You," she pointed to Fietra, [colr=firebrick]"Get to the back and stay behind it, don't let anything get up on the carriage in any way you can.[/color] she moved her own horse to the front, her pike lightening up in flames. She was hoping she could cut down whatever came their way but there was always the distinct possibility they would overwhelm them or simply overpower them. She had no idea what they might encounter.

For a moment, it seemed calm and quiet, as if her panic was for nothing, but then a garbled growling surrounded them in the woods and a somewhat foul, almost toxic order filled the air as deformed beasts strangely similar to dogs or wolves came crawling out of the trees. Their fur was long gone, their skin black with strange reddish-orange welts on their skin, oozing with bloody pus. Their eyes were solid black in color as drool dripped from their slackened maws. Their drool was the same color of the welts and seemed to burn and kill whatever ground it touched. Their walk was disjointed as if their limbs weren't really being held together.
"Don't let them touch you," Ryford said, increasing the carriages speed to try and get to the bridge, the stone mass yawning out in front of them, "Their saliva will burn and eat at the flesh and if they get their blood on you, you'll be infected and no one has survived that thus far," he said firmly. As they reached the bridge, there was a shuddering in the ground that made the horses jerk back. He swore aloud, trying to get them to move forward, but something had spooked them.
Miral got to the side of the carriage and started blasting at the dogs, that seemed only vaguely aware of when they were hit, even though the fire was eating away at their rotten flesh and killing them. Their purpose was set as they closed in on the carriage, "Damn!"
Alright, I waited to hear back from @Satsuki, but I will post sometime tomorrow (I won't promise a time so as to limit the disappointment if I get busy). We'll move on to dealing with the beasties.
@Lady Avalon@Emu@Cherrywitch@Satsuki@Burning Kitty@PM

Alright, so I know you're posting and interacting, and some of you are just sort of jumping in, but I'm doing a sort of roll call to see who all is still with us. I'm also doing a check to see how many would prefer we just jump straight to them reaching the dead wood and getting to encounter lovely beasties.
@AimeChambers
That's a good plan lol and I'm sorry, Ivo >_<

Amelia actually rolled her eyes at Emily's outburst this time before walls of ice formed around them, using the moisture in the air to for. The stretched and secured Emily's arms and legs in place and Amelia snapped the bracelet on without her consent and the ward to keep it in place flashed, "You are young, Emily. You don't know anything about how this world works and the true monsters that roam it. Humans are more dangerous and more capable than any being that walks these halls. It's humans that create mass weapons of destruction over minor insults to prove that they are the bigger power in this world," she shook her head, "I have been around long enough to know that just because you don't see the evil, it doesn't meant it doesn't exist. I would like for you to continue to live with that cocky arrogance of yours, that spirit. That's why I do what I do, that's why I'm not leaving it up to you whether or not you're wearing that bangle, because I will keep you safe with or without your consent, Emily. That is my job, because I won't let anyone else get hurt because they don't believe that there's something out there that can touch them," she said before the ice faded away, Amelia's eyes looking miles away. She put her hand on Emily's head, "Go on. There's a party to be had tonight, and no," she smirked, "I, and my 500 year sense of fashion, did not plan it. A senior did, one who reminds me a lot of you," she removed her hand before starting back inside, tucking those memories of the past away. It certainly didn't feel like it was history, not without how fresh the sense of terror was whenever she thought of the monsters that hunted them down for no other reason that they weren't regular humans. Yes, she might have been forceful, but she couldn't bear the thought of Eily getting herself hurt.

@Silver Carrot

"I'm from around the Statford area, I think, though I'm only recently up to date with technical stuff. The closest actual town to me was a tourist trap, the birth place of some famous writer or something," Tania waved her hands, but she stiffened as Amelia came down and exited the dormitory, not seeming to acknowledge any of the students she passed, her brows drawn down in concentration, "Yeesh," Tania shuddered once she was gone, "Anyways, I don't know how swell Emily I will get along considering our personalities are like two northern ends of a magnet trying to get close," she scoffed a little, shaking her head before hearing some of the girls nearby gushing about what they were going to wear to the get together the school was holding for the new year, "Huh," Tania went down and got one of the fliers before coming back, "Looks legit," she said, showing the flier to Eilidh, "They even like hired a DJ and caterers, though apparently Amelia made sure those with special needs would have food available for them too. Maybe it won't be such a boring year after all," she smirked a little.

@AimeChambers

While waiting for a response to his question, he heard people out in the hall, their door left open. Some guys were passing, carrying the same flier the girls were seeing, though one of the guys stopped outside the door and Henri bristled, sensing what he was- almost smelling the sulfuric, burnt smell that came from fire dragons, "What do you want, Ryu?" he knew this jock from the ride up to the school.
Ryu grinned mercilessly, "Well, well, pony boy found a friend, eh? Or is this little welp your roommie? 'Spose it fits," he chuckled, looking Ivo over and deciding there wasn't a threat to be had in the wolf boy, "Can't wait to see what spectacular garbs you got for the party," he waved the flier before balling it and throwing it at Henri, laughing as he started down the hall, "A wolf and a horse, how hysterical!" he howled.
"Yea, joke of the year," Henri rolled his eyes before picking up the flier and smoothing it out, looking it over, "Well, do you feel like going and seeing what the seniors at this school idea of a good time is?" he asked Ivo.
I so want to break out the real Sybil, though if those whispers keep up she might come out anyways. Since technically magic isn't really supposed to working Wellborough and what's keep her sane is magic so *taps chin* But I still need a place for Nyx and Alistair..... I had him chicken out before, maybe I'll just make him affirm his resolve though with the whispers, he could just end up changing his mind about going all together.
I'll post first thing in the morning with or without Polaris. I'm trying not to skim over the situation with Amelia and Emily, so I might have Amelia introduce the idea of the party and we can have it be that night and the teachers are chaperones so Polaris will have something to do XD
