Welcome to the world of Ossvien, a world that is vastly covered in ocean with only three major continents yet many small grouping of islands. This world is very much fantasy driven with many unique races and magic. Technology is equivalent to that of the Golden Age of Piracy and yet the world is thriving. There are large port towns and trade happening daily as sailing the oceans is one of the most popular jobs. With this, however, comes pirates. In this world, pirates even have their own community, living on two islands that are set between the three continents. They elect a Pirate King or Queen and although they don’t have a stable government, they do have a loosely based code they live by.

The continents have their own ruling powers as well along with militaries and naval fleets. Pirates are a great nuisance, however when you have a large continent to rule you may often overlook the acts of piracy. Especially when you may have some political unrest within your borders that seems to take up most of your time. There are many people who seem to be well off, yet there are also those poor and getting no help from the richer folk. So often they have to turn to other means to survive. That often involves joining a pirate crew or selling your child off to a merchant ship.

Our story starts with the disappearance of the merchant ship, the Arcadian. This ship has gone missing on its journey from the coast of Linfort to the continent of Glasston. Rumor has it that it was carrying a vast majority of riches along with the bride and future queen of the Glasstonian empires heir. The seas are a dangerous place, being plagued with many pirate ships looking to rob any unfortunate merchant ship that they come across. It isn’t often, however, that the pirates will actually sink a merchant ship and often times that ship will end up at its destination at one point or another.

When the Arcadian never showed up in Glasston people began to worry about what had happened to them. Had pirates actually disposed of the ship and was everything lost? Or had something far more foul happened to the ship? They did have to sail past the Shadowmount Isles, a place many ships tried to avoid, even pirates. There was something dark about these islands, something that many who’d survived the journey through them say they fear. They explain it as a dark, ominous energy coming off of them. Some have even been rumored to be driven mad from it. It isn’t uncommon for ships to go missing around their either.

Soon the disappearance of the Arcadian had become known to the world and many began to seek out what happened to it. Pirates wished to find the ship for the treasures it was rumored to carry while the Glasstonian’s sent out a naval ship in hopes of recovering the lost riches and hopefully the future queen. Only the bravest are willing to sail into the Shadowmount Isles, or perhaps it’s the stupid.

We will follow the pirate ship, Mermaid’s Fortune, and the Glasstonian naval ship, The Avalon Avenger, as they both set off to search for the Arcadian. You can choose to be on either ship and any race. The pirates are hoping to find the ship for a big fat payday while the naval ship is looking to recover what was lost to their empire. They will all be sailing towards the Shadowmount Isles and there's a high chance they may come across each other among other dangers.

Hello! So this is an RP I started awhile ago, but it has yet to take off and I'm really wanting it to. We've got a discord and a few very active people, but we're in search for a few more to go on this daring adventure. There's lots of different possibilities for characters and I'm pretty open to anything. So if you're interested in sailing the seas in a fantasy setting please come join us!

When Aodh pulled his hand free of her and explained that she shouldn’t let anyone else see her needing her hand held she blushed just a bit. What he said made total sense and she scolded herself for not acting tough. ”Sorry, I guess I didn’t think about how it would look. I’ll do better, I promise.” She said to him with a small giggle and then realized that her girlish laughs probably weren’t good either. This was going to be a lot harder than she thought.

He continued on to explain what her duties were most likely going to be and she listened closely. She really didn’t want to mess up and give any reason for her to be kicked off the ship...or worse, thrown overboard. That thought alone made her heart race a bit as she began to realize this really wasn’t going to be all fun and games. ”Oh I’m quite good at peeling potatoes and swabbing the deck can’t be much different from mopping a tavern right? I can do those tasks no problem!” Perhaps her years of working in a tavern really were going to pay off. She could do all that without any complaints at all.

Once they were on deck she couldn’t help but stare up at the men climbing the rigging. That looked like so much fun to her and she wanted to do it as well. She was so distracted by it that she almost missed Aodh’s next question. She tore her gaze away to look back at him again. ”Hmm?...Oh a weapon? I have…” She fumbled around in a small pouch she had attached to her hip for a moment. ”This!” She said proudly as she produced a small kitchen knife. She knew it wasn’t much, but at least it was sharp and could be used in a pinch, right? Truthfully she hadn’t really thought about finding any other weapon...nor did she really have the training with one.

Kenia was slightly surprised when Malachi decided to open up a bit about his lost family. She was surprised to find out that he, too, had lost a child and a spouse. Though her loss of a spouse was quite different from his. That would be a story for another time perhaps as the thought of Airdan always seemed to just enrage her, yet at the same time it helped her stay focused on her goal. That was the moment she realized that she was holding Malachi’s hand. Thankfully the sound of barking gave her an excuse to quickly let go and turn her attention to the racket.

Malachi was headed towards the kitchen now and she was following close behind, snickering a bit at his parenting comment. The sight before her was quite an odd one. She heard Rei question if they were being attacked, she looked to the demi-human child and thought that wasn’t really likely. She turned to her dog and knelt down as she tried to quiet him. ”That is quite enough Xena.” She said as the dog quieted her barking and replaced it with growling now. Kenia glanced around wondering where Ares had disappeared to and that was when she noticed the soot footprints across the floor. She quickly glanced to the child again and found that he was the culprit.

So that’s how you got in…

She stood and made a quick scan of the kitchen, spotting some little honey cakes that had quite obviously been made that morning. Silently she swiped one up and moved towards the bookshelf as Malachi began asking for an explanation. ”Why don’t you come down here, sit down, and explain yourself little one? You can eat this nice honey cake while you do.” She said as she produced the honey cake. Her tone was kind, yet also filled with a motherly tone that seemed to convey she wasn’t going to take no for an answer. She was prepared to bind him in a box of light magic if she absolutely had to, but she’d much rather let him make a decision first. She figured he was probably rather swift, but so was she and she’d use that to her advantage if she needed to.

Bowyn's snide remark to her pointing out the inn may have offended some, but Torvi found it a little humorous. "Oh I'm sorry, I just assumed a wild man who lived in the woods with only a bird for company might have some trouble with reading. Do forgive me." She retorted with a smirk as she followed him towards the door. She'd decided from early on that if he was going to make sarcastic remarks towards her then he should expect no less from her. She actually found some strange comfort in the banter as it reminded her of home, of Siri and Björn.

The poster of the ball caught her eye and she briefly stopped to look it over. It seemed like it was going to be a big event and perhaps there would be some allies that went. She made note of the day and time before continuing on inside. Bowyn and her would most likely need to steal their way into the event as neither of them would really have the immediate funds to get in. They'd also have to acquire some clothing and masks as it appeared to be a masquerade. She decided she'd discuss it with Bowyn later once they had figured out lodging and relaxed for a bit.

She got to the bar right as Bowyn was ordering some of the Warriors Whistle, a name that did in fact make her chuckle a bit. All she hoped for was that it was good. She watched him use his magic to chill his drink and before she could ask he offered to do the same. "Please and thank you." She responded with a lot of a grin. Once he'd done so she raised her glass in a bit of a cheers before taking a drink. It wasn't the best shed ever had, but it definitely wasn't the worst. "That definitely hits the spot." She said, sounding satisfied before glancing around the tavern and taking in the people who were there. Even though it was morning time there were a surprising amount of people in there, some even were drunk and she silently wondered if they had actually been there since the night before.

The arrogance and obvious attempts at trying to irk Kyran only agitated Elsea instead. While Elthrael had been the person who saved her that first night, which she would forever be grateful for, she had now spent a week with Kyran and the others. She'd be lying if she said she hadn't formed a close bond with them, even feeling she was even closer to than than Elthrael at this point. This made her protective over Kyran, Risa, and Dionaea and the things Elthrael was saying was causing anger to rise in her. She tried to focus on keeping as calm as possible, but he definitely wasn't making it easy.

"At least Kyran smells better than you do." She muttered quietly, the smallest of smirks on her face. Snide remarks, that's how she could release some of her pent up anger without becoming dangerous she decided. She crossed her arms over her chest as she continued to listen to him go on.

"I'll give it to him, he is good at surviving. Thriving tho? Meh, that's debatable." She said, looking over to Dio as she did so with a grin on her face and a shrug. She then glanced back at Elthrael as he seemed to be addressing her now.

"I had to withdraw lest I would have joined him in his untimely death, which would not have served anyone any good other than our common foes."

"Also debatable." Elsea exclaimed simply, knowing it was a bit cruel and she really didn't mean that. She was glad he was alive and hadn't suffered a similar fate to Jean, however, she hated that he and Kyran couldn't seem to get along. Or more it was the fact that he seemed to have to antagonize Kyran.

She watched the apple tree grow and it took everything in her to keep from setting it on fire. If they were to eat something she didn't want a godsdamned apple from a tree he magically grew. He picked an apple and held it out to Elsea and his next words caused her to give him a smug expression. "I'll pass, the last thing you fed me really wasn't all that impressive." She told him and then watched as Dionaea had quickly plucked up the apple.

The blonde woman then offered to cook up some breakfast with some help, however Elsea had a feeling that Elthrael would not be welcome in Kyran's house. Her suspicions were confirmed as Kyran suggested going to eat elsewhere. "Yes let's go somewhere to eat, might do us all some good to get out for a bit." She agreed, actually wanting to get out and see a bit more of Roshmi anyways.

Dio went on to back up all of what Elsea had said and she was grateful for it. She gave the other woman a small, thankful smile before she heard someone coming up the stairs. Moments later Risa appeared, excited and exclaiming she had a surprise. Elsea gave Kyran a look of 'I told you so' before shooing him out the door again.

She was intrigued by this claim of having a surprise and wondered what Risa was talking about. What kind of surprise could she have found at the beach? That's when she walked outside and found the white hair of the man she'd been keeping her eyes open for all of the last week. "Elthrael!" She exclaimed, relief in her voice and a big smile on her face. She was elated to see that he was okay as she had been beyond worried over the last week. Kyran had told her that he hadn't seen him when he discovered the date of Jean. It had been worrisome yet it also meant there was hope he'd survived and sure enough here he was.

Her smile fell, however, as what Elthrael had said registered and Kyran began asking his questions. It irritates her a bit as she realized Elthrael had been trying to get a rise out of Kyran. Why must he antagonize? Kyran was a good guy and had earned her trust and respect over the last week. She'd even dare calling him a friend. She was also a little concerned that he'd come across Risa while she was alone as she thought back of what had happened when she was alone with him. She was curious if Elthrael had tried anything with Risa and was concerned for Risa as well as she was naive in Elsea's eyes. She looked to Risa briefly, giving her a questioning look to make sure she was really okay. She felt a bit of protectiveness over her new friends.

She then looked back to Elthrael. "I'm am very glad you're okay. I am also curious, though, on how you escaped completely unscathed? The ones who murdered Jean were definitely not a force to be reckoned with." Of course she hadn't actually seen any of them and only knew what Kyran told them, but Elthrael wouldn't know that. She was quite curious as to what his answer was and would he be truthful?

To say she was relieved when the friendly Djinn showed up would have been an understatement in Katurah's book. Right then he looked like a knight in shining armor to her. She tried again to pull her arm away, but Aharuhn still wasn't quite prepared to let her go. When he began laughing in her face it was quite unsettling and it made her silently settle on trying to avoid this man from now on.

As soon as he released her, she moved to practically hide behind Aodh. She peeked out from behind him and almost sighed in relief to see that the sea-witch had lost interest in them. She finally looked up to Aodh and gave him a smile. "Thank you so much for being my savior. I'm sorry I got myself into trouble again. I'll do better from now on." She said the last bit a little sheepishly.

She then seemed to suddenly be filled with new life and excitement as she remembered Aodh said that Malek had called for all hands on deck. "Oh hey, you'd said we're setting sail? I definitely wanna see that and help in any way I can." She said excitedly as she grabbed his hand and tried to drag him back up to the main deck. She wanted to stay close to Aodh from now on until she learned how ship life worked and got adjusted.

Adrielle watched her crew work, having pride in how efficient they were. Even though they had some odd characters on the ship, each one seemed to have their place. She even had a feeling that the kitten would find her place eventually, even if it was merely for entertainment in the end.

She glanced up at Malek as he approached and grinned. "Precisely, he is accurate and he will probably be of good use once we get closer to the Isles." She said with a small chuckle as she glanced over to where Aharuhn and Nur were currently. She was curious as to what the man was harassing Nur about, but decided she could find out later. "Besides, there's just something I enjoy about the man. Or perhaps it's the fact that having him on our crew seems to scare the other ships." She added as she directed the ship slowly.

At Malek's last statement, Adrielle couldn't keep herself from laughing. "I'll show you a good time." She said teasingly with a smirk and a playful wink before chuckling again. "We'll break out some of the rum tonight for the crew, maybe see how well the kitten can play her music, and have an evening of festivities once we get out to open water. Sound like a plan?"

Week Summary

The next week had gone a lot smoother than Torvi had expected it to and she was quite grateful for it. Neither pried into the others past and it seemed like there was just an unspoken thing between them that they wouldn’t unless it was absolutely necessary. She actually found herself enjoying the company of Bowyn and even Boreas which she had begun to view more as a person than an animal. She’d even caught him eyeing the ornaments in her hair and decided to be kind and gifted him one. She definitely wouldn’t miss it and it seemed to make him quite happy. She was quite amused the next day when he brought her a squirrel, but she thanked him and prepared it to eat.

Training her magic was much more difficult than she thought it would be. Bowyn tried to help as much as he could and she did listen to everything he said, taking it to heart. It was harder for her to tap into those gentler emotions to gain control over things, finding it way easier to use the stronger emotions just like when she fought. He was right, though, and the magic tended to be quite a bit more unpredictable. She just kept telling herself she would eventually get it.

Another thing she found she wasn’t entirely skilled at was stealing, unlike Bowyn who seemed to be a master at it in her eyes. She definitely tried her best and was successful only once or twice, the other couple times she was caught yet was exceptionally well at playing it off as if the item had fallen off the stand and she was being a good person by picking it up. That was when they decided perhaps she was better suited at distracting the merchants while Bowyn stole what they needed. She did still try her hand at stealing, though, just in case she ever found herself in a situation without Bowyn and needed to steal something.

The trip on the Amora was not something Torvi was fond of. She actually had found herself becoming ill and even vomited once before she decided to sit in a corner with her eyes closed. She couldn’t understand how people enjoyed being this high up as all she could think about was how awful it would be if they fell. It made her heart race and that was probably what made her sick. She was happy when they finally landed.

Present

Roshmi was by far the largest city Torvi had ever seen in her whole life. In fact it was probably the most people she’d ever seen in her whole life and she wasn’t really a fan. She, like Bowyn, wasn’t fond of the climate as she’d always preferred winter time and the cold. Mix the climate with the clusters of people and Torvi was finding it a bit stuffy and hard to breathe. She was also a bit paranoid of people pickpocketing her, realizing after spending a week with the thief Bowyn that this was the perfect scenario for that. So her facial expression was definitely not the friendliest and some people even began trying to avoid walking near her.

She glanced over to Bowyn as he spoke, chuckling a bit at his obvious distaste for this place. She was glad that they had “found” themselves new clothes because if she were still in her furs she was pretty sure she would be dying. It seemed like she was to be the one that made the decision on getting a drink and if she were being honest it was an easy decision. ”I’m sorry Boreas, but I have to agree with Bowyn. I need to get off these crowded streets for a bit and calm my nerves with a drink.” She said, apologizing to the bird for encouraging foolish behaviour. She definitely enjoyed a good drink and even enjoyed the impressed looks when she drank some men under the table. She’d even beaten a man at an arm wrestling match back in the moon elf villages after having a few drinks and that was the type of revelry she needed right then.

”Perhaps over there? It looks like their an inn as well so maybe we could get a room at the same time.” She suggested, pointing to a place called The Leaky Tap Tavern & Inn. It wasn’t the most reputable looking establishment, but it at least looked clean and people were in and out of there quite a bit.

Week Summary

On the dreaded flight back in the Amora, Azriel found solace in becoming more acquainted with Jack. It was a good way for her to distract herself from being confined in the flying contraption. His love for killing and death was lovely, however there was an insanity there that she wasn't entirely fond of. At the end of the day, she decided she could tolerate Jack's company which was a very rare thing.

She was eager to get back to hunting other humans, now curious as to what they were like. Umber told her of the human named Elsea and the emotions he felt from her. At first, Azriel felt a twinge of jealousy over it. She got over that quickly, or she at least tried to force herself to get over it. So she promised him that they would find her so he could play with her all he wanted, warp her into something new.

She enjoyed torturing the fairies, but there was a part of her that wished there were some elves as well to torture. Her hatred for the race was unlike any other. She hated their arrogance, how they thought they were so much better than any of the other races and she liked to put them in their place. She loved proving to them that they were no better than anyone else. So she held out hope that they would come across elves to torture in their hunt.

Present

Azriel slowly circled around the group of fairies, eyeing them and listening for any pleading coming from them. Some looked at here with pure terror and tears in their eyes while others looked at her with hatred. Those were the ones she grinned at in a strangely happy way. She silently dared them to try and do something just so she could act. She was itching to spill some more blood even though the last few days had been filled with it.

She was disappointed that none of them had seen any of the traitors, but what frustrated her more was the ones who tried to lie about seeing them. How dare they lie to them about such things! Did they truly think that lying would protect them? Those were the ones that died terribly by her hands. Slow, painful deaths that caused others watching to wretch.

Umber began to rip the wings off of the fairy and it caused some in the audience to begin screaming and crying in terror. The sound irritated Azriel, not being fond of the loud noise, and she sent a feather slicing into the throat of one of the women who were screaming. "Silence your screaming or I will do the silencing for you!" She shouted at them and they quickly quieted down. She then turned her attention back to Umber.

As he was tearing the second wing off, Azriel was hit with a small rock and she whirled around to see a young child was the culprit. Her face was devoid of emotion as she made her way over to the defiant looking boy. As she began grabbing him, his mother began pleading for forgiveness and to take her instead. A wicked grin crossed her face as she locked eyes with the woman. "Do you hear that, Umber? You have a volunteer!" She said as she gestured to the woman who now looked horrified and the little boy was beginning to apologize for his actions as he realized his mother was in trouble. Azriel ignored him, tossing him aside as she grabbed the woman and began dragging her towards Umber.

The song was coming to an end and Kenia had to close her eyes to keep from breaking down completely. It took everything in her to not just start sobbing, something she never liked doing. She took a shuddering breath, regaining control over her emotions, when she felt someone touch her hand and give it a squeeze. She opened her eyes, looking to her side and expecting to see her father standing there. It genuinely surprised her to see Malachi instead.

His face seemed to hold a softness she hadn’t seen yet from him, a comforting kindness that kept her from immediately pushing him away. She felt a small crack form in the walls she always kept up and it frightened her, but she managed to ignore it for the time being. Perhaps, for now, it would be okay to let someone in and try to comfort her.

Her gaze turned back to the painting as she unthinkingly laced her fingers with Malachi’s, the gesture bringing her more comfort than she expected. ”Thank you.” She responded in almost a whisper as she examined the faces of her children again. She remembered the day well, the painting taking many hours as they had to constantly stop to feed the twins. There was even one point where they had forgotten who had been holding who and got it mixed up for a short time. Many had a hard time telling the twins apart, but Kenia always knew which one was which at first glance.

”This one is Lura and this one is Rhys.” She told Malachi as she pointed them out, feeling the urge to talk about her children for a moment. ”They were always such happy babies, rarely fussing and always let us sleep through the night. They hated being seperated, though, and that’s when they would become a challenge.” She explained as she giggled a bit at the memory. Her face slowly fell again as she continued to speak. ”They were only three years old when…” She trailed off as she felt the familiar pain in her chest take hold once again. She closed her eyes, trying hard to fight back her tears once more.

Week Summary

Seeing the destruction within Risa's and Dionaea's homes was heartbreaking even to Elsea. Finding the corpse of Dio's brothers was even worse. If it had just been their bodies it would have been one thing, but seeing the charred skin caused Elsea to have to swiftly leave the ruins. She'd vomited outside and it took awhile to stop the panic that had set in. Even though she had control of the fire, the thought of burning alive still plagued her and to see someone may have gone through that sickened her. She only hoped they had died swiftly before that as it would have been a mercy.

After leaving the house, she took the time to get to know the others and even accepted the apology of Kyran. She found that she actually enjoyed his company just as much as she enjoyed the company of the other women. She opened up to them on her story and the fact that being brought here had, in fact, saved her from certain death.

They made it to Roshmi and found solace in the home of Kyran's family, which she was thankful for. They had also supplied Elsea with a pair of false elf ears and she made sure she wore them whenever she was to leave the house. She was thankful for all the training provided, eager to learn how to wield her magic along with protect herself. She decided to take up target practice as well with her bow, not wanting to have to rely on only her magic. She also had Kyran's father teach her how to properly wield her dirk, which vital spots she should aim for if she were attacked, and things like those in hopes she wouldn't be completely helpless in a fight.

The rebels had also graciously provided some money for Elsea and she made sure to hold on to it for dear life. She's always been one to save her money, only spending it when she absolutely needed to. She would make sure she left some with Kyran's parents when they left, however, as she was quite thankful for their kindness and generosity.

Present

Elsea had been sleeping quite peacefully, having pleasant and senseless dreams. That is until she was awoken by sudden shouting. She shot up out of bed, the dirk she slept with under her pillow now in her hand. If she'd learned anything over the week it was to be prepared for anything at all times. So she had taken to sleeping with a weapon just in case. She also wasn't a very heavy sleeper and even some of the smallest noises could wake her up which was an advantage in her mind.

Her hair was a wild mess, sticking up all over the place as she looked to Kyran with an alert expression. It took her a moment to comprehend what he was saying, but when she finally did she felt agitation for being awoken in such a way. She gave him a death glare as she silently got out of bed. She set her dirk down as she made her was over to the fox man."Hush…" Elsea started as abw looked up at him and she clamped her hand over his mouth. "It is far too early for all this racket and I need you to just shut up for two minutes." She continued before removing her hand and crossing her arms over her chest.

"She left about an hour ago, I heard her get up. Also perhaps if you took two minutes to just look around and observe before losing your mind you'd realize something else. Risa isn't alone, do you notice someone else missing?" She asked as she gestured around the room, giving him moment to think about it. "Hades isn't here either now is he? I can almost promise you he went with her to protect her. The beach isn't that far from here and the wolf would have found a way to alert us if something were amis." She finally explained as she moved to dress herself as she was only in her nightgown. She knew Kyran wouldn't give up that easily so she decided to get ready to go with him to find Risa.

"Honestly Kyran, you're very sweet and you do well in protecting Risa, Dio, and even myself. Sometimes, however, people need their space and some alone time." She scolded him as she dressed herself in her pants and tunic. She looked in a mirror to brush out her wild hair and apply her elf ears before she grabbed her dirk and deemed herself ready. "Alright come now, let's go check on Risa." She said as she shooed him out the door.
