Kenia was glad that Malachi was backing her up on questioning this child. They had to be cautious on who they trusted and this child had already proven himself to be a liar. It was troubling that he was all on his own, however he spoke as if his mother were still around. Why was she not caring for him? Why was he having to be involved in petty theft? What kind of mother left their child to fend for themselves? If she were to find out she surely would scold the woman.

”Zelginn huh? Shame on your mother for leaving you alone and having to fend for yourself.” She told him as she handed him the food back and then the bag. She’d hold up her end of the bargain as well since he actually told her who he was. She even believed his story about being hungry...to a point. Who could they really trust other than each other right now? They had to be very careful on who knew the truth about Cora and Rei.

”Those two are family of mine who have come into town for Haron. They smell strange because they’ve been spending the entire morning cleaning the house out of courtesy of us allowing them to stay here.” She explained to him smoothly as she moved over to a cupboard and pulled out a few more food items along with an empty flour sack. She began filling it with food and then turned to look at Malachi and Zelginn. ”Stay right there for a moment, I’ll be back shortly.” She said as she left to head up to her room.

Once up there, she gathered a few items of jewelry that were worth quite a bit before heading back down to the two. She grabbed the sack of food once more and placed it beside Zelginn. ”What I want for you to do is take these things, go home to you mother, and clean yourself up. This should hold you over for a time between the food and valuables. Then I want you to go down to down to Lord Norkas and instruct him that you need a job and that Lady Tsarra Urmicca highly recommends you. He will put you to work probably running errands for him, but he will pay you very well. Sound like a deal?” She gave him a kind smile as she was being completely genuine. She wanted to make sure he was taken care of and didn’t want him to become involved in the danger of the humans.

The Mermaids Fortune

Credit goes to @The Wyrm for this lovely sheet!

@Darcs I love her! Absolutely accepted! Go ahead and add her into the character tab. Also feel free to join our Discord as we talk often in their and have some more lore stuff happening there. Also out of curiosity, how did she end up on the Mermaid's Fortune? Is she fairly new or has she been there awhile? Either would work :).

Aharuhn was quite the different character and Adrielle would be lying if she said she didn’t fear him at all. In fact, it was probably part of what contributed to keeping him aboard the ship as she feared more of angering him than anything. She wouldn’t admit that, however, not even to Malek. Instead she would just continue telling everyone who questioned her decision the same thing she’d told Malek.

She watched Nur hurry away from Aharuhn and briefly wondered what had just transpired between the two. Her thoughts on the matter were quickly forgotten as Malek made a response to her playful comment. She glanced over at him with a smirk, but she watched as he turned his face away briefly and she found it curious. She wondered what was going through his mind, but she let it go for the time being.

She knew that he had issues with his charm ability he was born with, knowing he often viewed it as a curse. She’d tried to help him in the past with it, but it seemed like her charm and his charm worked quite a bit differently and so controlling it was different as well. She could understand why he felt the way he did about it, but she rarely got the chance to use her charm so when she did, it seemed to be addicting to her. She also wondered what it felt like to be charmed as she seemed to either have a bit of a resistance to it or people were just too frightened to use it on her. She often considered asking Malek to try and charm her, just so she would know how it felt, but she had yet to build up the courage to actually ask her friend to do something like that.

She looked back to Katurah and Aodh once more, noticing the girl seemed to be staring up at the rigging. She truly was like a cat, wasn’t she? Perhaps that’s where she would excel on the ship. ”If she ends up being shit at playing or has stage fright then I’ll just sing us all a pretty song.” She told him with a wink before laughing a bit. ”In all honesty, though, I think most people will be too drunk to care if the kitten is good or not.” She said as she turned the wheel abit to avoid some of the upcoming rocks. His last words had her turning to look at him once more briefly, wanting to see what his expression was. A small, genuine smile graced her lips as she looked back forward again. ”Well then I guess I better stick to my word and guarantee that you have a good time tonight.” They were almost out of the dangerous rocks now and soon she’d feel more comfortable passing off the helm to one of her helmsman.

”Alright ladies and gents, our voyage is officially underway! Let’s have full sails, get us moving as swiftly towards the Isles as possible!”

Welcome to the world of Ossvien, a world that is vastly covered in ocean with only three major continents yet many small grouping of islands. This world is very much fantasy driven with many unique races and magic. Technology is equivalent to that of the Golden Age of Piracy and yet the world is thriving. There are large port towns and trade happening daily as sailing the oceans is one of the most popular jobs. With this, however, comes pirates. In this world, pirates even have their own community, living on two islands that are set between the three continents. They elect a Pirate King or Queen and although they don’t have a stable government, they do have a loosely based code they live by.

The continents have their own ruling powers as well along with militaries and naval fleets. Pirates are a great nuisance, however when you have a large continent to rule you may often overlook the acts of piracy. Especially when you may have some political unrest within your borders that seems to take up most of your time. There are many people who seem to be well off, yet there are also those poor and getting no help from the richer folk. So often they have to turn to other means to survive. That often involves joining a pirate crew or selling your child off to a merchant ship.

Our story starts with the disappearance of the merchant ship, the Arcadian. This ship has gone missing on its journey from the coast of Linfort to the continent of Glasston. Rumor has it that it was carrying a vast majority of riches along with the bride and future queen of the Glasstonian empires heir. The seas are a dangerous place, being plagued with many pirate ships looking to rob any unfortunate merchant ship that they come across. It isn’t often, however, that the pirates will actually sink a merchant ship and often times that ship will end up at its destination at one point or another.

When the Arcadian never showed up in Glasston people began to worry about what had happened to them. Had pirates actually disposed of the ship and was everything lost? Or had something far more foul happened to the ship? They did have to sail past the Shadowmount Isles, a place many ships tried to avoid, even pirates. There was something dark about these islands, something that many who’d survived the journey through them say they fear. They explain it as a dark, ominous energy coming off of them. Some have even been rumored to be driven mad from it. It isn’t uncommon for ships to go missing around their either.

Soon the disappearance of the Arcadian had become known to the world and many began to seek out what happened to it. Pirates wished to find the ship for the treasures it was rumored to carry while the Glasstonian’s sent out a naval ship in hopes of recovering the lost riches and hopefully the future queen. Only the bravest are willing to sail into the Shadowmount Isles, or perhaps it’s the stupid.

We will follow the pirate ship, Mermaid’s Fortune, and the Glasstonian naval ship, The Avalon Avenger, as they both set off to search for the Arcadian. You can choose to be on either ship and any race. The pirates are hoping to find the ship for a big fat payday while the naval ship is looking to recover what was lost to their empire. They will all be sailing towards the Shadowmount Isles and there's a high chance they may come across each other among other dangers.

Come one, come all! Join us on a daring adventure filled with piracy, magic, and sailing the seas! We have started up already, however we really aren't that far in. Still in the beginning of everything and characters are still introducing themselves/getting to know each other. We have had a few roles open up and would love to get them filled again. We've got some exciting things planned for when everyone makes it to the Isles which should happen pretty soon after getting everything rolling. We have a pretty active discord for people to join as well. So please, come along and join our fun little group!

Torvi had no concept of what was expensive and what wasn't quite yet in this world, but from the look on Bowyn's face it told her that the inn cost quite a bit of money. She felt bad that he was having to use his money to pay for her and she promised herself she'd find a way to pay him back for it all. She did have a small amount of money she'd acquired over their travels and she would begin by using that to pay him back.

She pulled her attention away from the patrons of the bar as she heard Bowyn speak to her. He was right, if she stared too much she'd probably look suspicious. She could probably play it off as she came from a small village that didn't get many of the other races if she needed to. She sat down at the table and chuckled a bit. "You could say that. In fact you can go as far as to say we're the only variety of creatures where I come from." She informed him, keeping her voice somewhat low just as an extra precaution. They truly didn't need any trouble. His next question caused her to smirk just a little bit. "Wings and magic are not necessities to live, believe it or not." She informed him, a bit a snark in her voice. She couldn't blame him for the question though as he obviously wouldn't know much about her world just as she hadn't known anything about his. "I suppose what we have going for us, though, is that we're resilient. We can survive through some of the toughest situations and even thrive. That's what we have going for us." She explained, knowing it probably didn't seem like much and in comparison to this world, hers looked dull. Maybe it was dull, but it was her home.

She took another swig of her mead before she decided to bring up the topic of the ball she'd seen on the flyer. "I saw a flyer on the door for a ball, perhaps we should find a way into it? It might be a good opportunity to try and find some powerful allies. What do you think? Could also pick some pockets and make back some money." She through the last bit in to make it more enticing.

When Risa came out, speaking in a regal manner, it had really surprised Elsea. She truly had no idea that Risa was of royal descent and it changed her view of the woman ever so slightly. She still saw her as a friend, a close friend now even, but she now felt like Risa was more important to protect. She could understand why Kyran was so protective of her now and she felt a bit bad for scolding him earlier, though at the same time she did feel like he went a bit overboard on things. That was a matter for another day, however, as she decided to head back inside and change from the clothing she had on into something new that Kyran’s mother had provided.

She looked through the pretty dresses and was very tempted to pick one to match how Risa and Dionaea often dressed, but the practical side of her urged her to choose something logical. She didn’t need to draw any more attention than she already would. That and she wanted to have a backup plan just in case her ears failed. So she chose a dress that also sported a hood just in case. She wondered if Dio would also choose to borrow a dress or not.

In the early days of arriving at Kyran’s parents house, Dio had been a wreck and it had made Elsea sad. While she barely knew the girl, it was still awful what had been done to her brothers. She couldn’t imagine how the girl was feeling. It also sparked a bit of anger in her and she knew that if she got the chance she would help make that Dark Elf pay. If he enjoyed setting things on fire so much perhaps he wouldn’t mind being set ablaze himself. The thought made her smirk darkly to herself and she was glad no one was around to see that.

Once she was finished, she headed back outside to join the rest of the group. She gave them a quick smile before speaking. ”Kyran your mother is an angel. I’m so appreciative of all your family is doing for us. I’m ready to go to breakfast whenever.”

Elsea’s New Outfit

Time: Morning
Location: Biralei residence
Interaction: @princess Malachi @Dezuel Zelginn @Inertia Rei @Potter Corvina

Kenia watched as the child took the bate of the honey cake, glad she wasn’t going to have to use her magic to capture him...at least not yet. She also listened as Corvina and Rei spoke, knowing full well that they had nothing to do with this. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. She had to contain a chuckle as Rei’s sarcasm hit her ears. She did quite enjoy the snarkiness of these two. She didn’t quite approve of Malachi seeming to immediately accuse the two of the chaos, but she could understand it to a point.

Her attention was pulled back to the demi-human child as she watched his crocodile tear filled face spin his story. Being a manipulative liar herself she could catch on quickly to when someone else was trying to spin a story. That and she’d spent a week with Malachi, if he’d really wanted to steal some of her wealth than he would have done so awhile ago. Still she found the story amusing and an opportunity in it. ”Oh really? Well what do you have to say for yourself Malachi?” She asked, accusing him just as quickly as he’d accused Cora and Rei. She also swiped up the pouch the boy had thrown and examined the coin inside.

She turned back to Zelginn and crouched down so she was now at his level. She gave him the kindest of smiles, putting on the act of the kind lady he said she was. ”Thank you, little one, for informing me of a thief amongst us.” She started, but then continued. ”Let me give you a word of advice, though. Don’t try to manipulate and lie to a woman who makes a living off of doing just that.” She then held up the pouch he’d thrown and quickly grabbed the sausages from around his neck.

”So let’s start over, I will give both of these back to you along with match the amount that’s in this pouch if you give me your name and the reason why you came here. I suspect that you weren’t lying about being hungry, but I need to make sure that is the only reason you broke into my house. If you refuse to answer truthfully then I will be forced to remove your ability to speak and turn you over to the dark elf guards as a thief and I really don’t want to have to do that. So please, won’t you tell this kind lady your true intentions?” As she spoke, Kenia had started to form barriers of light in each exit from the room just in case the child tried to run. She truly didn’t want to harm the child and would do everything to avoid that, but when it came down to it her first priority was protecting the humans and she’d do what she had to.
