Cool, this is a tad old but I was never in any rush so if you guys are still interested I could throw together a thread or a discord or something I'm sure so we can do some actual brainstorming. Now I ain't too worried bout how much anyone writes precisely, just that we're all advanced enough to give each other enough to work with and move the story forward together. Been trying to get back into writing for fun and not having so much pressure, admittedly it's pressure from myself but not the point lmao.

I think you have enough backstory to be posting with, and in the meantime, if you want to give me a nice concrete idea of ya boy's weaknesses, interests, and aptitudes I can put an example spread on a sheet for you. Okay so I was trying to go for a couple different angles, as far as combat interest go my goal was to have him be a proficient duelist. Great in a 1v1 especially against an unarmored or lightly armored opponent. 1v2 would be a struggle and anything beyond basically he better run. I did hope that he could expand on that skill as he goes along and get better at handling multiple assailants through parrying and such.

Social aspects my goal was that he'd be a doctor/alchemist, like making potions or drugs to boost the party's efficiency. On top of that I wanted him to be like the persuasive one of the group, great with reading people and sniffing out a lie as well as good at lying when necessary.

Todays wardrobe of choice was derived of paranoia, an aching sensation that had accompanied Adrian since he'd taken to the sea. A shabby hood hung low over his head, obscuring his face from those who didn't deliberately go out of their way to make it out. Even choosing to attempt to peek under the hood would only reveal a set of piercing eyes gazing out atop a face mask obscuring Adrian from the nose down. Lastly a drab brown cloak wrapped around his shoulders and obscured much of his figure as well as his hands. For all intents and purposes Adrian looked raggedy and uninteresting, a bland figure that the eye might pass over with nary a second thought. To the trained eye though, Adrian might very well appear exactly as he was, a man on the run.

Adrian cursed inwardly as he checked over his shoulder for the 3rd time in the last 5 minutes, gritting his teeth in frustration. Paranoia was unbecoming of him and yet he dueled with it anyways. His escape from the mainland had been far too close for his liking and he struggled with the idea that he might be safe out at sea. Regardless he'd found his way to Kontina and found a ship in need of a doctor. With any luck such a place would throw any pursuers off his trail.

Adrian pushed the paranoia to the back of his mind as Chwegwn spoke of betting at the arena. He'd no idea what Kontina's arena might hold but he certainly considered himself a duelist and would enjoy a few bouts at the arena, especially as a means to put his mind elsewhere.

Movement. A shadow down an alley off to Adrian's left. His breath caught in his throat as his hands reflexively sought to arm themselves. His heart quickened rapidly and his knuckles whitened as he gripped the hilt of his rapier tightly. A cat stared back at him from atop a pile of refuse, absently licking it's paws of whatever it's previous meal has been likely. Adrian slowly let himself unwind and tried to play it off as if nothing had happened. He'd have to do something about the overwhelming paranoia gnawing at the back of his skull.

Sorry, things have been a bit complicated lately and I got overwhelmed and kinda just wanted to hide. Bad move on my part, I'm sorry, I shouldn't be blowing you guys off though.

But yes I could probably use a hand on the last bits of my sheet, the mechanics definitely confused me after my last attempt.

Hello, I'll preface by saying there won't be a ton of plot information here at the moment as I'm mostly just gauging interest and searching for a small group of two to three people who would be interested in brainstorming a character focused zombie-esque horror story. I say zombie-esque because I mean anything from Back 4 Blood to Dead Space, I'm not exactly overly fond of standard shamblers because it's easy to get burnt out on. I much prefer my zombies to be viscous killing machines and my characters to never feel like they have a moment of safety or reprieve. I'm also very fond of unique settings and clashing various genres together in some weird contrasting form of fiction. Overall though I'd rather craft something from the ground up with a small interested party so that we're all equally invested in cooperatively creating a story between our characters and the world we've developed.

It has been quite awhile for me in terms of actively writing so I apologize for the informal nature of this interest check, I know usually people have at least a basis for a larger idea that they'll pitch but eh, my gears are a tad rusty and my ability to focus has diminished a bit. Just trying to ease my way back into the waters so as to not get overwhelmed.

To recap-
-Loose zombie fiction taking inspiration from anything like Back 4 Blood to Dead Space
-Character driven, in-depth characters with strong personal motivations
-Unique world-building and non-standard settings
-Small group, 2 or 3 people max, not counting myself.
-Equal involvement, not really looking to be the main GM type but also not looking for someone else to do all the work

I was thinking more after he had his ship and was on a trip/voyage perhaps but that would depend on how long Chwegwn has had a ship and whether he would find himself out towards a coastal city even temporarily which ofc is your call, either way I can spin something up to put him specifically on Kontina if that doesn't quite work.

How long has Chwegwn been a captain? I don't remember if that was mentioned and it's been a minute since I've read his CS.

Sounds good to me. I imagine Chwegwn coming upon your guy during a display of his medical and alchemical skill. Seeing his use as a doctor and his profit potential as a drugs manufacturer, Chwegwn would determine his motivations and approach him later with an offer. Chwegwn would provide him with safety from his pursuers and funding for hedonism and alchemy. In exchange, he would serve on Chwegwn's ship as its doctor and set aside a portion of the drugs he makes for sale on the black market.

You think that'd stand as a convincing bargain by his reckoning?

I can work with that, what say they originally met up around the coast of the stormcircle when he was first looking for an escape from the mainland? Mayhaps they've been crewing together for a short while and have a bit of an established background together already?
