Javier Xirau

"Oh, so it is friendly," a relieved Javier spoke and calmed down to Gillmore's explanation. Still, he was not expecting to see a ghost this soon, much less during training. But at least it was not trying to kill him or anything and not needing to trap it.

He quietly went back to finish his test and listened to what Gillmore said about the fun part of training. Which apparently involves a firing range. As Victor got up and went there, Javier just finished the test and with that done. He was more than happy to see what the fun part was all about.

So Javier went to follow Gillmore and Victor to the firing range, and took a moment to look at the scene one he was up there. When Gregory was mentioned., he spoke up nervously, "Who is Gregory.... and I take it doing that is a bad thing?"
Desmond Wathen
Various places - Seluna Temple

Desmond was on his way to the Seluna Temple as part of exploring the town. He has seen most of it by now, and it was clear it was a growing town. While his buildings are not yet done, it was nice to see most of the town being done and ready for any blizzard. Even getting a chance to see the royals' residence. Quite the sight, but that is a given since it is the royals' place, after all.

Though he figured that now he was out and about, he should visit the Seluna Temple to see how that was. Desmond was bound to go there eventually and now seemed like the best time for it. Plus, the cold was starting to get to him because of the heavy snowfall, despite Silver seeming quite content at the moment.

He chuckled to himself at the thought as he walked down the snow-covered path, sometimes gazing at the nearby lake. Though even she would be grateful to get out of the heavy snow, at least for some time. Granted, it must be an odd sight for anyone around. A partly wool, partly fur-clothed man with a large owl on his shoulder just walking around town. He even bet they would be surprised that he was a merchant and not a hunter.

Still, as Desmond got closer and closer to the temple. He started to make it out and despite the falling snow. It was quite a sight, it reminded him of the temple where he lived. As he reached the front door. Desmond tried to make himself look presentable and brush off the snow that was on him. Once that was done, Desond spoke to Silver, "please do not mess with the priestesses like the last time I brought you to a temple."

Silver simply hooted but had an understanding look in her eyes.

"Good, and here we go," He said to himself as he opened the door and entered the temple.

Quickly entering and closing the door so the snow and cold does not get in. After that, Desmond took a moment to look around but noticed when Silver flew off his shoulder and would fly around for a time before landing right next to who looked like a priestess and her guests. Desmond quickly moved his way to Silver, and she would fly up and land on his right shoulder when he was close. Desmond, in a sorry tone, spoke to the priestess. "I am sorry about my owl, and I hope I did not interrupt anything."

Tales of Echo Squad

Echo Squad, one of the elite squads of the United Earth and Colonies Special Forces Group. Known as the Spectres, this group was one of the few special forces groups in the UEC and is a respected one.

Now, Echo Squad was assigned to an important mission. A research station located near a black hole had been taken over by a terrorist group known as the Null, and they are in possession of an important artifact. The goal of the mission is to retake the station and recover the artifact.

The mission went well, and Echo Squad was able to succeed in both objectives. However, after taking the artifact to their ship and flying back to home base. They were attacked by a Null ship and was forced to get close to the edge of the Black Hole. The enemy ship retreated but, being this close to the black hole's edge. Echo Squad's ship had to bypass safeties to push the engines hard enough to break free of the black hole.

After breaking free from the black hole, Echo Squad returned to their home base on the world of New Jechico and expected good praise for a job well done. Only when they reached it, to their confusion and horror. All they found was a lifeless, uninhabitable planet and the base destroyed.

Now confused and not knowing what is going on. It took some time before Echo Squad realized the truth. While they were trying to get free of the black hole, time had unknowingly passed, three hundred years had passed, and the United Earth and Colonies government no longer exists. In its place were three nations, the Varan Commonwealth, the White Sun Republic, and the New Earth Empire.

Echo Squad, now aware of their situation, plans their next move. For they are in a new environment, and they have to think on how to survive in this new world. But also what to do with the artifact that sits on their ship. Whatever they decide, one thing they will discover is that not everything is what it seems.

The Shadow

The Shadow

For the Cargo Officer, would it be okay if he was a former military? Just trying to think what their background would be and what they did.
@Theyra Not too late at all! Arya and LC are the only two with solidified spots at the moment as they were directly invited. Feel free to fill out for a spot or if you'd like, go for an alternative role. Here are some alternatives to choose from, or we can work together to create a role closest to what you're already interested in.

Okay, I will think about it, and right now, I may go for either the Cargo Officer or the Cybernetic Specialist.
I am kinda interested, but I see the role slots are full so I guess I am too late?
I live in the U.S. Eastern Time, and I am mostly free thought at times, I can get preoccupied with stuff.

Blind in a New World

So Illium is where he is at, wherever that was. The name does not sound familiar to him, and a question formed in his mind. Where is Illium and... He made a long sigh, more questions, it seems, but at least he knew where he was and with people who could tell him more. If they wish to fill him in. Though the younger man with blond hair seemed familiar to him somehow and he seemed more friendly than the horned one. Meko, the horned one's name based on what the blond one said. Also, the survivors of Shalut are what the blond one called himself and the other two. But, still, that name holds no meaning to him.

Still, it is better than nothing so far, and more information should come in time, hopefully. However, it seems like he was not the only one with a missing memory. The others with him were in the same situation, but who were they and why? Where they were companions of his and suffered the same fate or something else entirely? Well, he can't ask what they do not know, and maybe the people here have an answer to this. At least a diction to guide them towards if they know that is.

He would silently listen to what the others were saying, and the one that stuck out the most for him was the man with half his head being fire. How does someone wind up like that? Was he born that way or cursed, or was it something else?

But, his attempts to get one of them to stick their hand into the fire and, by extension, his head was... very weird. He is not sure why someone would do that, and when one of them spoke, the woman with grey hair, he replied while looking in her direction. "That is a very good question." Sounding serious and when the fact he can not recall even his own name. If he cannot do that, then how is he able to survive in this world?

Since the words bring with him dread that is apparently caused by the old woman's words. The gods did this to Illium, and what kinds of gods would just reduce a place like this to ruins? Are the beings who did this really gods or something else? But, if it was the gods, then why do this?

More questions and little answers, the survivors should know more though. So, turning to their direction, he again spoke but in a more relaxed tone. "Can you tell us more about this place and why the gods chose to destroy it?" And what are your names? I... do not know mine, unfortunately."
