The sun continued to beat down on Ari as she lay basking in the sun. Her book had somehow found its way over her face as she hid her eyes from the blinding light just soaking in the rays. She wasn't sure if she had dipped into a light nap, but the slight drool on the side of her mouth said a lot.

Pulling the book from her face as the pages slightly stuck to her lip, she brushed the pages off with her fingertips before sitting up. Her eyes fluttered as they adjusted to the bright sun. She figured she had gotten enough sun for the day, her mother would be all over her if she returned home with a sunburn on her porcelain skin.

Gathering her stuff, Ariella set back to her carriage. Along the way she dusted herself off making her outfit more presentable than it was at the lake. Sadly that included putting back on her shoes.

Getting into her carriage she instructed the driver to bring her to a local Tavern, she was feeling quite hungry after the events this morning and all the sun. It didn't take long for them to arrive at the Prince Callum Tavern. As the carriage came to a stop she peeked out the window to see the sign wondering if this was some kind of strange joke. She couldn't help but think about Callum however. She wondered how he felt about a Tavern named after him. Seemed a bit of an ego stroke, but she got the impression he had no say in the matter.
Paying no mind to it any longer, Ariella got out of the carriage and headed inside the beautiful Tavern. It was loud and busy full of people enjoying their late lunches or early suppers. The smell of ale and meat pie filled the room as she clearly was overdressed for the place, however, she normally overdressed if her mother had any say.

Finding a nice place in the back Ariella hid away from the normal patrons and snuggled into a booth. She kept her book handy but enjoyed the large pitcher of water that the barkeep brought to her table.

Ariella let out a deep breath as the silence in the carriage was comforting. The carriage rumbled around as she peeked out the window to see the view around her start to become greener and lush with trees and flowers. Her head stuck out the window with her hair whipping back behind her as a smile spread on her face. The clean air refreshed her from the previous engagement she just left.

The prince's ball was interesting, to say the least, and she was rather surprised to find someone like Callum..she paused...Prince Callum there. She wasn't sure what to expect when she went but she was happy to have at least had the pleasure of that short and brief conversation with him. She shut her eyes as the sun beamed down on her face as bits of her hair decorations flew out into the wind.
---
The carriage came to a stop after what felt like a very long time. Ariella with swift haste opened the door and nearly exploded out of the carriage as her rather overdressed appearance seemed to draw eyes to her. She was used to the looks, her mother always overdressed her but Ariella over the years found ways to make herself more comfortable.

Reaching down she took off her shoes and tossed them into the carriage. Using the door as a shield she reached under her dress and took out the crazy amount of layers and petticoats that were stuffed under her dress. Tossing the lump of fabric the dress hung closer to her body now, as she reached down and grabbed the tail of her dress and pulled it up looping it through her waistband. Her legs and bloomers were practically visible to everyone however Ariella didn't care. She was at home in nature and she needed to ground herself.

Shutting the carriage door, she held a basket on her arm that she had packed earlier in the day. Inside was some food, drinks, and even a blanket. Thankfully she was also able to sneak in a book as well for some entertainment.

Taking off towards the lake she made her way down the trail, Her eyes wide with amazement as the lake came into view. The sound of the rushing water, all the chatter from the various visitors, and the sounds of splashing and laughter just filled her heart with ease. She walked towards a rather nice spot in the shade under some trees. Setting down her basket she pulled out the blanket and fluffed it in the air landing it on the grass.

Taking a seat on the blanket, she pulled out her book and just soaked in the beauty around her.

Her violet eyes watched as he accepted her gestures.

“Thank you, and you’re not intruding, anyone who brings a drink is always welcomed around me.” Ariella smiled as she looked down at her glass of wine " Noted" she casually pushed the glass towards him, he clearly needed it.

"No, It's not the same thing but I did get to know your sister rather well as my parents ... my mother rather, insisted I stay with the women and not fraternize with the men as it was unbecoming of a lady. " She adjusted herself in her seat, visibility uncomfortable in her gown and shoes.

Arielle stared at him blankly for a moment. Did the Prince really just say that? She had to blink a few times to let it register as her shoulders relaxed and she leaned forward on the table. " What a relief," she said with a breathy sigh. " I would much rather speak with the man who ate an onion off the floor, cried, and wiped his nose on his sleeve than a prince. Hopefully, you are okay with speaking to a girl who would much prefer to be beside a ravine right now, with her toes in the water basking in the sunlight." She looked around the room and leaned in slightly to drop her voice into a whisper" Her name is Ari...It's a pleasure to meet you, Callum."

Her mother would be screaming if she heard her talk to a Prince that way. She could already feel her eyes fueling with fire as the disappointment would be burning for weeks to come.

" So long that this arrangement stays between us, my mother would have my head if she knew I was speaking so openly and formally with you." She leaned back in her chair. Perhaps this was a trap, her mother setting up some kind of test with the prince to ensure she stayed humble and ladylike. " I would give anything right now to just rip off this beastly garment, these shoes made for someone who enjoys torture and these blasted stockings to just be myself enjoying what life and nature have to offer. " she figured she had committed this much to the conversation if her mother did indeed find out there was simply no turning back at this point so she decided to toss her worry to the side and just enjoy a conversation as Ari for once.

Standing outside with a large crowd of cooing women was making Ari more and more nervous. She wasn't sure why she was so nervous, it wasn't as if she hadn't met the princes or the king before. The chances of them remembering her however may be another story but this was nothing new. They had exchanged pleasantries before but Ari was never included in many of the diplomatic meetings. Her mother always thought she was above such things and she has normally paraded around in fancy dresses and way too much makeup. The only person she really ended up getting to know was Anastasia.

She wondered the best way to act, normally she would put on a face that only her mother would love. She struggled to keep relationships for the longest time until she finally opened up to her maids showing them who she really was. The pressures of keeping up with her mother's expectations felt large on her shoulders, with constant pressure to keep doing more. Maybe she should just be herself.

Ariella was ushered inside along with a few other women. She was so nervous that she even failed to realize her friend Crystal was amongst them. One of the guards escorting her over to Prince Callum's table when the king erupted into one of his loud outbursts. She wasn't surprised in the slightest, one of his sons was normally doing something to make the King lose another piece of his temper. This time it appeared to be Callum. She paused on the floor watching him as he chewed what appeared to be an onion in spite of the king. Her eyes were unable to leave the prince as she felt a small smile spread on her face. Unsure of why she found it slightly charming to see him stand against this father, but it was likely due to the fact that she wished she could pull something against her mother. She watched as he struggled to swallow the onion, wiping his eyes of tears.

Ariella covered her mouth to hide a smile and a slight chuckle as she continued to watch it unfold. It didn't appear that anyone else was noticing his situation but Ari. She felt slightly bad for the prince, onions were a very dangerous vegetable, especially when used as a weapon against a parent and it appeared it backfired on him.

Pulling out her clean handkerchief from the pocket of her dress, she walked over to the serving table. Taking a cup of water she pours the cold water over the cloth and rung it out slightly. Picking up two glasses of red wine which she figured would help mask any of the scents of the onion but also wash down the humiliation he must be feeling.

Turning back around with two glasses of wine and the cold wet cloth she walked over the prince Callum's table.

The stench of the onion assaulted her nose she could feel her nose wrinkle from the smell. How was this onion so strong, whoever the farmer has clearly had some quality crops this year. She curtsied before him " Forgive my intrusion, Prince Callum." Ari said standing back up out of her curtsy " I - " she paused not wanting to embarrass him further by omitting she had just seen everything. " I brought you a glass of wine, They were pushing them out I suppose so it didn't spoil the taste and I thought perhaps you'd appreciate one. " She set the glass down along with the cold cloth hoping he would just understand the purpose of it but just encase " Cold water really helps with the sting " she whispered as she gestured to the handkerchief. It was a white fabric with her name embroidered into it with gold stitching. Her mother really was about all the details. " May I sit?" she asked him with a friendly smile on her face. She assumed it was alright, sitting down on the chair across from him. " My name is Lady Ariella Edwards. I've had the pleasure of meeting you a few times when the king visited my family estate but I don't believe we ever were permitted to talk officially. " She remembered her mother telling her to be sweet and kind to the prince, but he certainly didn't make that hard to do after all she witnessed.

“Ladonna’s last season perfume? Really? What are we, homeless?”

Victoria was a tornado as she stormed into the room and right past the maid near her stepdaughter. She plucked the round perfume bottle out of the little woman’s hand just as she had been about to squeeze the atomizer pump. She flicked the maid in the chest hard and the young maid with the thin braids took a step back.

There were three women around her daughter that she had assigned to prepare Ariella for the Prince’s Court. Surely three people would be enough to have one beautiful girl in excellent condition, but this duchess was not impressed. It wasn’t like they’d need to do much. If she had been her own daughter, then perhaps nothing would have been needed at all. Luckily for Priscilla, only one maid had been sent as she had her mother’s blood to help her appearance.

Tall and stunning with the eyes of a siren, she stared down at the maid from high above, her expression deadpan. She lowly asked as she twirled the perfume bottle in one hand, “What were you doing? ”

“I… I was just going to spray her in perfume so she’d smell nice.”

“You mean to say you were going to spray her with a perfume that’s now on sale and in technical reach for the middle class? You know normal people can buy this, right? Maybe even someone as poor as you. “ The girl looked as if she wanted to shrink back, but there was nowhere to step. Victoria scoffed but gave the girl a few moments to respond all the same. Only silence followed.

“Hello!? Are you stupid?”Victoria slammed her hands down on the vanity in front, making the other two maids drop what they were doing. ” Ariella is my daughter! She’s going to meet with the PRINCES! Do you think they wanna marry anything less than perfect? …I know you all have one brain cell between the three of you trying to spray this trash on her. God do I have to do everything myself. I can’t stand any of you.”

They all stared at her without a word. Victoria sighed and pointed at the door with narrowed eyes. “ Get out.” She softly ordered. She watched them awkwardly scramble out of the room with a smug grin pulling at her lips. She danced her shoulders with delight then whirled on her daughter. Her expression softened as well as her tone. “Sorry princess. I was in such a good mood and then those imbeciles just made me fall off the rocker… Ridiculous, wasn’t it? At least that crisis was averted.”

She knelt down to take a good look at her where she was seated. “Darling you look delicious. They’re going to eat you up like a panna cotta.“ Her gaze seemed to pierce into hers. She was thoughtful as she continued to smile at Ariella. “How about I do your hair for you like I used to? Then we can make sure we find you the best perfume we have.”

Rolling her eyes and letting out a deep exaggerated sigh, Ariella shook her head and gave the maids a dirty glance as they left the room. “ Where do we even find good help these days, Honestly. It’s like some of them simply do not have the brains or class for their jobs anymore.” She pulled her hair over her shoulder, Her red locks twisting in their natural wave as her violet eyes admired herself in the long full-length mirror. “ Honestly, it is not hard … they are so lucky they don't have all the worldly pressures that we have. It is so difficult and a lot of work to make sure you look your best.”

She spun slightly in the mirror admiring her new dress that she was given for this event. A pain sat in her stomach however, her eyes wandered in the mirror to the sad-looking expression on one of the maids who sat near the door. She felt horrible about how she needed to treat them, she learned long ago that her mother was not interested in an independent woman who enjoyed the sound of running water while they sat under a large green oak tree. Someone like her. She needed to mold herself into the daughter her mother wanted so she could be accepted by her. This was the only way she stayed in her good graces. Having to wear two masks was exhausting but needed for survival.

“ Yes please mother, I need to look my best. I am sure there is a lineup of women waiting and I MUST stand out. There is no better match than a prince for me, and I won't let a single hair out of place ruin that chance for me. “ She walked over to her vanity table and sat down, grabbing a powder poof and gently dabbing her face. “ I still can’t believe they tried to use that horrible scented perfume, next thing you know they will want to dress me up in one of their work outfits.”

“You’re right, sweetie. You’re not the only pretty noble woman, but we are going to make you THE pretty noble woman.” The dress Ariella was wearing was more extravagant than she doubted any other women even had access to. As for makeup, Victoria had made sure the maids had painted her face like a doll.“You will have some competitors even then though.”

Her tone grew a tad more serious as she moved behind her to dabble with her red locks. “ Lady Crystal’s kindness will get men with mommy and daddy issues around their finger. You will have to be soft and sweet with Prince Callum. King Edin places the least importance on him and I’ve seen how that’s manifested in his behavior. “ She paused to giggle, “Seen him drunk stumbling by the brothels. Lady Thea from the Varian Kingdom might take his interest if she bares her bosom as always. Be sure to adjust yours and show a little more when it comes to him.” Victoria then sighed, “Honestly, probably our last choice if we can help it, but still worth seducing... Ooh and I’ve heard through the grapevine his relationship with good ol King Edin is unmentionable... I suppose every family has their least favorite child.”

“But stable, smart men like Prince Auguste-” She tightly fastened the top half of her hair into a beautiful braid as she continued on. “ He will want a smart girl with a level head on her shoulders. Someone like Lady Violet or Lady Charlotte, if she dares to make an appearance, may interest him. Prince Wulfric, well, he may be the hardest to get a grip on as I could never tell for certain if the charming facade he gives to the public has any authenticity..” She left the braid and allowed the bottom half of her hair to cascade down in a red waterfall. Victoria brushed the bottom locks over each of her shoulders.

She giggled, “Speaking of the Vikenas, you should ask me why I was in a good mood.”

She paused and stared at her mother in the mirror for a moment, Sounds like her and Prince Wulfric may have more things in common than her mother may know. They both have things they hide from the public, pretending to be something their not. “ Well I guess I will need to try and outshine them then. “ She said pushing her chin up as she didn’t show the fear she felt in her belly. “ Why are you in a good mood? Did Father give you the coin purse again? Oh, please say he did! I could use new stockings and shoes “ She wasn’t wrong, she had lost the other pair she was gifted from him somewhere in the woods about a week prior.

“Oh that’s right! He did! ” Victoria initially replied giddily. She loved carrying around lots of gold coins and was quite elated that her dumb husband had indeed given her a full coin purse early this morning. “Oh but that’s not why. You see, I went to the park today… I had a carpet laid out before I stepped, don’t you fuss. Oh but then I saw Lorenzo Vikena causing a commotion at the event, Pancakes for the Poor or whatever, and it was such a delight to see. He had the whole line yelling at him and things even got violent. Oh my, my if you could have seen! …He was so miserable. The duchess infamously hated Duke Vikena.

Victoria then moved around her body to spray the area in front of Ariella with an expensive perfume named La Rose de Wulfric. “ Shimmy through it. Go on. Then you’ll be ready to go.”

Ariella let out a soft chuckle over her mother's delight. “ Yes, Well, can we really be surprised. Sounds like the fates just bringing him what he deserves, a life full of embarrassment.” She stood up from the table and floated through the cloud of perfume, herdress floating behind her as she spun around presenting the completed painting to her mother. “ Does this please you?” She asked doing a slow 360-degree turn to show off every angle of her. She was lucky she didn’t have a single bad one. “ I should probably get going. I don't want to be fashionably late not actually late.” She snapped her fingers and a maid ran over with a shawl and her small purse that matched her dress. Everything was custom and handstitched, nothing but the best for her. Ariella was keeping a brave face but as the realization of the event loomed she continued to get more nervous. She would much rather strip off all the clothing and actually wear one of the maid's uniforms to sneak out into the woods until someone came looking but this was her job, she had to bring the prestige back to her family. It was her duty.

“Yes! You look like expensive! Absolutely the prettiest woman in the kingdom! That dress is to die for.” Victoria exclaimed with enthusiasm as she admired her work. “The carriage is just outside waiting for you. I can’t wait to hear about it all. Remember, Ariella, be confident. Fake it until you make it if you must.”

Ariella nodded and took her to leave out of the palace. The maids were fussing behind her, fluffing up her dress and making sure it didnt get dirty. She stopped outside at the entrance of their home and stopped to turn to the maids. A short silence was heard until soft giggles and smiles appeared on all their faces. “ I am so sorry about my mother.. You know how she can be. You all did a wonderful job and I couldn’t thank you all more.” The women made their final adjustments and offered her a warm smile “ It’s alright m’lady, we are just so excited for you maybe you can finally get that happy ever after like in the books you love to read.” Ariella let out a soft sigh ” if I am honest with you, I am not sure my prince will be an actual prince but I suppose we shall see. We all need to make sacrifices I suppose. I accepted a long time ago that I’d need to marry for status and not love, but I guess love can surprise us.” she smiled optimistically. The women nodded and began to shoo her to the carriage.

Spinning around she headed towards the carriage and managed herself inside the carriage. After a long ride, the carriage pulled up in front of the event. There was already such a large line of women waiting for their chance to speak with the princes. She almost felt a slight embarrassment that she was about to line up as well. She couldn’t help but giggle at the thought of the princes being behind a glass wall while others gawked at them like an exotic pets.

Slipping out of the carriage she walked up the stairs, taking the long trek up them until she reached the back of the line. Now she waits.

Violet sucked in her breath, forcing her to stand slightly taller as she watched her sister stride off. Violet was very well aware of her jaded ideals of the court and the process of courting. She didn't make it hard for people to see her stance on things, but for some reason, the idea of sharing a dance with Lord Ravenwood actually brought a soft smile to her face. She was excited to get to know her friend more, being able to have a face amongst the crowd that she could enjoy as her sister did with charlotte.

However, Violet's opinion of lord Ravenwood was likely more inappropriate compared to Crystal over charlotte.

She reached into her pocket and grabbed the book she had stashed in her pocket. Pulling out the small novella she flipped through its pages, it was untitled and tattered, something that she had clearly read many times over. The pages of the book almost appeared torn out from the binding of the novella.

Flipping to the page she was on earlier she continued to read her book. The story was an interesting one, especially considering the events of the night. He leaned over his forge, the hot glass heating to its perfect temperature... she closed the book out of frustration and placed it back into her pocket.

Heading back to the table where Callum and her and indulged in wine earlier, she grabbed herself another drink and stood quietly as she watched her sister push her friend towards another group. She smiled lightly shaking her head, she sure was determined.

Callum & Violet

Callum disliked many things about noble life, but dancing had never been among them. A waltz was predictable and calming, the steps a simple pattern that flowed together with ease. The dance itself didn’t occupy much of his mind, but it did ease his nerves about attending the ball itself. It meant only having to interact with one person at a time and paired with Lady Violet meant he had no reason to put up a charade; she was as safe as any of them from Edin’s wrath

As annoying as it was that King Edin would be watching the interaction he’d designed, at least Count Calbert was not around to further instigate the plot. Cal had no intention of keeping Edin’s desire for a wedding a secret, and he was fairly certain Lady Violet had no part in their father’s plans. “I’m betting both our fathers had a hand in setting up this dance. Our king has deemed you to be made of exceptional wife material, though I’m sure you have bigger dreams than a marriage designed to make me look better.” Cal spoke freely as he led the dance, curious to hear what Violet thought of the attempted arrangement.

Violet's face said a lot. Her body moved along with the music complying with each step but her face showed utter distaste for the dance. She sighed deeply as the small talk continued. “ I am very certain that is what is happening. Not to be rude, but dancing is not something I would have signed myself up for voluntarily. Though that is nothing against you M’lord, I simply do not like these rituals, makes me feel like I am a show pony.” she said as her eyes looked around at the other dancers, Spotting her sister.

“No offense taken,” Cal said, his eyes following the same direction as Violet’s, spotting the rarely seen younger Damien sister. “I take it your sister is well? Nice to see her out and about.” He added but put no further effort into continuing the forced small talk.

“We could always abandon the dancing, ruin their plot, enjoy the wine instead.” He offered with a grin.

Violet nodded slowly “ Yes, Nice to see her out” she said with an undertone of concern in her voice. She felt saddened by the small, frail and pale looking lady yet she also felt happy all at the same time for her.

She turned her attention towards him with a heavy relieved sigh “ Yes, please..” Although Violet was not one for drinking , she felt at this moment in time she needed one.

Cal nodded, he had no desire to force someone to dance with him and he’d never turn down the chance for a drink and to dash his father’s hopes that he’d be complying with the king’s wishes. Both the night and the season were young, he’d have another opportunity for dancing soon enough anyhow. The youngest prince of Caesonia subtly led Violet from the dance floor, mindful enough to not bump into any of the other couples who moved and twirled about.

“These events are rather dreadful, aren’t they? If it wasn’t for the wine and the music I’d assume they only existed to torture us all.” Cal spoke once they were far enough away from the dancing couples. He let his posture drop back into a slouch, shoulders moving to fight off the stiffness of the dress clothes. Once they had reached the tables laid out with wine and food he poured two glasses of wine and offered one to Violet.

“So, anything here that redeems these parties for you?” He asked, content to watch the others and make simple conversation. He noted that not only was Wulfric dancing with Wystan, but Auguste too seemed to have escaped the forced pairing as well and danced with a woman who was clearly not from any of the major noble families. Tonight it seemed, every one of his siblings was outperforming him in further angering their father. Rather than jealousy, he only smiled proudly at them.

Violet followed him , mindful of the dancers as well. Reaching the table she accepted the glass “ Thank you , your highness” she smiled at him politely before taking a small sip. She looked around at the dancing patreons and caught a glance at Roman. “ I suppose the friends you can acquire makes it rather interesting. “ Her attention is moving back to him. “ What is that smile for? “ she asked curiously as she noticed the prince looking at his brothers. “ What about you? I suppose I'm surprised that someone as yourself finds displeasure in these events as well.”

“I can’t help but notice each of my siblings dancing with someone who lacks a proper title, and that will certainly displease my father, an upset with his status quo. Now that does please me.” Cal couldn’t help but chuckle at Violet’s assumption that he enjoyed these things.

“These events are just another way my father shows off. People of Caesonia starve and suffer while we dance and feast, it’s more than a bit grotesque. As for friends, most here would prefer to find themselves in the king’s good graces rather than mine, and I get more honesty from the servants than I do from most of the lords and ladies here. I’d rather spend my time in the library far away from all this. I don’t enjoy being a show pony nor a pawn anymore than you do.” Cal admitted, taking a much longer drink from his own wine. “Meet anyone of interest tonight?”

“ I suppose you would know that more than myself, your highness.” she said taking another sip of the wine “ I don't envy your position I will omit. I agree that there are more masks in this room than there are true faces. It makes me rather guarded as you never know who you are really speaking with.” she chugged back the drink , and grabbed the bottle pouring another glass. “ I don't hold much interest in anyone, your highness. As many have declared me tarnished due to my outwardly appearance. “ she adjusted the collar around her neck “ It doesn’t paint a lovely image for my partner to have a wife with a deformity. I've learned long ago that even though people may say to my face this isn't the case, their actions speak much more to this than words. “ she took a pause, taking a sip of her drink again. Looking over at him “ I apologize for being forward, but I don't have anything to hide, what you see here is what I am. You don't really need to hide anything. “ she smiled towards him. '' I do enjoy reading myself as well, my sister, she is a really good author as well. I always carry her books with me. I make sure my handmaid stitches pockets into my gowns for such a thing.” she pulled out a small handwritten novel out of her pocket “ Don’t tell her that however, she may get a bit too excited about it.” she smiled.

“An author? How wonderful.” Cal said admiring both the book and the secret pocket, a bit jealous that his own clothing was often tailored too tightly to hide things of use, like books. “No need to apologize for honesty, it’s refreshing, and I won’t tell a soul, I am an excellent secret keeper.” He said, pausing for a moment as he thought about his next words.

“I suppose I can lift my own mask for a moment. I don’t desire a match between us, my father does, and playing the obedient son is the last thing I wish to do. I take great pride in being my father’s least favorite child. But for anyone to claim a few scars makes you tarnished is deeply stupid. You survived something many would not, that is a sign of strength. And it sounds like you’re wise enough to see through much of this court's nonsense. Both are admirable qualities that matter more than flawless skin. As for me, there are many here who find me too soft, unlike my brother’s I’ve never taken to swordsmanship or hunting, my interests lie in nothing that this court sees as a showing of strength.” He offered up one of his own flaws, something he’d been vexed by for much of his childhood, before lifting his wine glass for a toast.

“So here’s to our imperfections, and if you think about it would you wish to read a story about someone who was absolutely perfect?” He asked before finishing off his glass.

She stayed quiet, sipping on her drink. It was always so interesting to hear people's perspectives, yet actions always proved so different. The only exception was Roman, who nearly cursed himself into an early grave from the passion he felt against her comments. Yet others were so quick to just disregard everything and say it's no big deal yet she had been made to feel as such growing up with all of these familiar faces. They have simply gotten wiser with their words.

Violet drank the last of her wine and set the glass down as the music had slowed and the dances had finished. She watched her sister run off in a panic from her partner when she got concerned. “ I am sorry your Highness, If you’ll excuse me. she said curtsying before moving towards her sister.

Reaching her as she finished talking to their parents she pulled on crystals arm gently “ are you alright?” she asked, concerned.

Violet Was taken aback by his suggestion “right..yes to identify the ..animal “ she said emphasizing the animal being the reason behind her scaring. Although the thought of someone hurting her, perhaps because of her father was a thought she held for a while.

She could tell his mood shift after she mentioned the arrangements “ I apologize, there is no chosen man for me, I wouldn't allow it. I shall choose the man that I decide is appropriate for me. “ she paused “ Call me old-fashioned but I believe in love.” she shrugged.

She Listened to him closely while leaning against the railing. She smiled brightly and perked up “ Yes I would really enjoy that “ Her voice for the first time had a gleeful undertone to it. She took a step back as he bowed towards her, she could feel a flutter in her chest as he called her scars beautiful. “Thank you Lord Ravenwood, I would be honored to dance with you this evening. I look forward to it.” she offered him a smile.

Confused as to why he wanted to know about her parents, she gestured into the ballroom pointing out her parents when she noticed her sister had joined the event. Taken aback and surprised she looked at the lord “ They are right over there, Count Calbert and Countess Lilianne. “ she smiled at him “ If you’ll excuse me, My sister has appeared to join the festivities and I’d like to say hello. ‘ She curtsied towards him and took her to leave from the balcony.

Heading inside, the music began to start for the dancing, where she was greeted by Prince Danrose inquiring about a dance. She cursed “ I would be delighted with your highness. “ she regretfully agreed.
