There's no getting around it. Even Ares himself calls his son an asshole. Course, he's pretty proud of it, but that's not the point. Brandon isn't the touchy-feely type, and definitely won't ask you if you're okay when you get hurt. He'll tell you to rub some dirt in the wound and get back on your feet. The young man takes things a bit too seriously in life, and most definitely at camp. Brandon finds himself constantly in arguments and bare knuckle brawls, or even in some cases full-on duels. Brandon knows he's good at what he does, and likes to show off for the ladies. Women seem to be this boy's weakness, especially the daughters of Aphrodite. Seems Ares handed down more than just some godly powers to Brandon. He can be very charming to get what he wants, you'd almost think he was the Son of Aphrodite with the way this guy's game is. Brandon is very militant in his own way but doesn't necessarily care to police others or be a leader of anyone. He lets others, typically his other siblings or the Athena kids, take charge in matters dealing with battle strategies and such. He's not too fond of 'teamwork' but will resort to it if it benefits his own personal gain. Brandon also is a bit of a poor sport, not taking losses too well, he will inevitably try to start a fight.. or in the least case, yell at the winning team after Cap the Flag matches.

Biography:

No, Brandon never knew his mom. Least he doesn't remember so, but she did have him with her for the first couple years of his life before she came to the confusion that she just couldn't take care of Brandon the way he needed and gave him up for adoption. Being flopped around from home to home only fueled the boy's anger, feeling unwanted and alone. When the boy reached 9-years-old he was taken in by a 'family', and they brought him to the camp to live full-time. Someone finally had enough watching the poor boy get thrown from family to family and made the decision to intervene. Brandon spent years in the camp before Ares claimed him as his, though plenty of people had their opinions about the young boy just as soon as he'd come to camp. Brandon's always been a hothead but he definitely isn't a son of Hephaestus, that's for sure.

Zane can be described as a friendly laid-back person who values the time spent with family and friends. Though at times taking to time to relax by himself. Biography:

Life for Zane and his sister Helen growing up seemed normal. Growing up with an active father who worked as a professor at the local University of Maine. Things were fine for them despite the fact either of the kids knew anything about their mother. A matter that their father would be closed-lip about. Always saying that he will tell them about her when they were ready. Not really understanding why his father chose to wait to tell them about his mother. Regardless the Blacklight family was close, and Zane seemed content with things.

It was when Zane reached thirteen that things changed for him and his family. When he was at school and was being bullied while in the restroom, the bullies would corner him in his stall but were unable to open it. Leaving Zane trapped inside and while the bullies kept on waiting for him to come out and kept saying bad stuff about him. Zane just kept thinking to himself that he was not there in a vain attempt to reassure himself that he could get out without getting the bullies ganging upon him. It was here that the bullies suddenly stopped, and one of them said that Zane was not here. Leaving, and it would take some time before Zane ventured out to make sure that they were gone. Which they were, that was oddly good for him, he thought. He would tell his father of this, and Zane could see the gears moving in his father's head. Something was up, and it was only when Helen accidentally used magic while she and Zane were playing. Did his father realized what was happening and knew now was the time to tell them about their mother.

Zane's father did not tell everything at first. In order to not overwhelm his children about the nature and identity of their mother. Something that Zane at first did not fully believe what his father said while Helen only grew more curious about Hecate. Wanting to meet her, and Helen would get her wish when their father brought them to Camp Half-Blood. There the twins would instantly be claimed by their mother, and it was an eye-opening experience for him. Finally getting some time to meet and talk with his mother. The twins were overjoyed and would receive some lessons on how to use their magic so they could control it. Both of them took to magic quickly and would often spar with each other to help the other grow stronger.

At this point, Zane and Helen had opted to stay at the camp during the summer. So they could try to live normal lives the best they could. Which well worked for three years up to when Zane and his family were returning from a vacation from New York City. A group of monsters ambushed them, and despite Zane's best efforts of defending his family. Both Helen and his father were killed before the last of the monsters was killed. Devastated the loss of his family and seeing how he or anyone around him is not truly safe. He broke up with his girlfriend and headed back to Camp HalfBlood. Staying there year-round while training himself and getting better at his powers. Hoping to avoid another instance of losing either family or someone close to them again.

۞ Mist Control ۞

۵ Zane, like his mother, he can control the Mist. Able to manipulation it to make illusions to trick monsters. Along with using it to hide things such as times people and other beings from others. Even able to disguise people and items if needed using the mist. Plus, being able to manipulate mortals' memories and to summon Mistforms of various objects Though Zane is hesitant to use some of this power unless necessary.

۞ Mystiokinesis ۞

۵ Being a child of the goddess of magic, Zane has the ability to control and manipulate magic. This gives him the ability to learn all sorts of powers. Though like his mother, his magic is the weakest at day and the strongest at night. And if he uses too much of it, then it can backfire on him and hurt him. Currently, he has learned three diffident abilities to augment his power.

• Electrokinesis - Ranging from simple lighting bolts to ranging to summoning lighting storms. Dependent on how much magic he uses.
• Vitakinesis - Able to heal wounds and diseases of his own and others based on how much magic he uses.
• Telekinesis - The first thing he learned with magic, Zane is able to move objects and even people. Even able to levitate them off the ground for a time. Depending on how magic he uses and the heavy the target, the more magic he uses. So he can not lift up everything.

۞ Necromancy ۞

Due to his mother's status of being the goddess of necromancy, Zane has limited power over the dead. Able to sense the presence of ghosts, sense death, telepathically speak to ghosts and, release ghosts to the afterlife.

۞ Umbrakinesis ۞

۵ The last of the power inherited from his mother. Zane can control darkness mainly by making shields and barriers out of pure darkness. He also knows the art of shadow travel that he can use to travel medium distances. Though it takes stamina from him, the longer he travels, and can hurt him if used too much. Also, not as strong as the children of Hades in this.

As a son of the Skies and the legacy of the Sun, Zeru has an abundance of powers, including: Enhanced Strength, Electrokinesis, Atmokinesis, Aerokinesis, and lordship over the skies.

Form:

When angered, usually on behalf of injuries or worse to his friends, an reddish orange field of electricity surrounds his body. It's almost as if the sun itself was fueling him and his anger. This state does leave him significantly drained afterwards.

Weapon/s:

Zeru possesses an Adamantine Sword named SkySlicer. When it's not used it appears as a normal pendant on his Camp Half-Blood necklace. He presses it and it pops down into his hand. He was gifted this by Zeus and when using it the blade glows blue. The blade has an ability that allows Zeru to imbue it with electricity or air.

He also possesses a typical Greek bow. There's nothing special about it whatsoever.

Abilities - In-Depth Look:

۞ Electrokinesis ۞

۵ When it comes to lightning and electricity Zeru happens to be a prodigy. The ability comes as natural to him as just about any exercise. His older half-brother Jason sought him out one year and helped him develop this ability the most out of the others. Through his training and years of experience he's able to summon powerful bolts of lightning from the sky, generate electricity from his body, and even enhance his own speed. He also seems to be completely immune to electricity, but he hasn't truly tested his limits.

۞ Atmokinesis ۞

۵ Admittedly not his strongest ability Zeru is able to manipulate the weather. He can make it rain, snow or any form of precipitation in a small area or generate a semi-powerful storm. This ability also gives him control over storm venti.

۞ Aerokinesis ۞

۵ Zeru can control, manipulate, and generate air at different levels of pressure, intensity, and force. He can use this ability to send powerful blasts of air, fly, or solidify and create different shapes.

• Lordship over the Skies: As the son of Zeus, Zeru has divine authority over all birds whether or not they can fly. He can also communicate with them both verbally and telepathically. They all seem to trust and have respect for him. Zeru feels rejuvenated and stronger whenever he's above ground. Even moreso the closer he is to the sun. This is due to him being in the domains of his father and godly brocestor Apollo.

۞ Lie Detection ۞

۵ Due to Zeus being the god of oaths(ironic, I know) and Apollo being the god of truth Zeru has developed the ability to detect when people are lying. At first he couldn't turn it off, but over time gained control enough to where he only activates it when he wants to. But regardless of whether it's on or not he's grown quite well at reading people and their different tells to give away their dishonesty. Let's just say he can't wait until he can legally gamble.

۞ Enhanced Physiology ۞

۵ Demigods are already naturally stronger than normal humans their age and the children of the Big 3 are normally even stronger than that. But the children of Zeus? Strength is in their blood. This is no different with Zeru. He wouldn't put himself on the same level as Heracles, but moreso around his older brother Jason's level when he was his age and it's believed that his strength is still growing. This goes the same for his durability, agility, and reflexes as well. But on top of that his Apollo legacy blessed his sight, voice/words, and his hands creating a balance between the pen and the sword.

Weaknesses:

Zeru's weakness is that he sometimes feels like he has the weight of the sky on his shoulder. That it's his duty to lead his friends and family and protect them.

His quite literal fatal flaw is that he'd lay his life on the line to protect the people he cares about.

Other:

Although he doesn't try to be showy with his talents Zeru has a poetic soul and hides a journal of his poetry in the Zeus Cabin. He also can sing, play the piano, saxophone, and electric guitar. The latter he only picked up because of the word electric.

He also keeps a stash of grass hidden in a different spot than his journal.

Dorian is a bit of recluse. It's partially to his own doing, but also to the doing of others. Even though years have passed people were still wary about those being related to gods of the Underworld. He understood why and never held it against anyone. His dad was Death personified. This isn't to say that he's incapable of making friends. Some have even tried to be friends with him and he allowed them in, but not fully. He still holds secrets from others. He's really kind and does have a sense of humor though most of his jokes are death related. He can laugh at and make jokes that don't deal with death. He loves nature and nature seems to love him as well. He loves butterflies the most and he guesses it has something to do with his dad. They tend to rest on him a lot not fearing the presence of death around him. He finds himself wishing that he had wings just like his father so that he could fly away with them. He's more caring than anything and hates to see people in pain. He constantly wishes that he was a healer like one of the Apollo children, but he wasn't born so lucky. He's also pretty much just like an ordinary teenager. He deals with puberty, coming closer to adulthood, and crushes. Though who really wants to court Death?

Biography:

The love story of Dorian's parents was a weird one, but it was still better than Twilight could ever been. His mother always seemed to have a fascination with death. She was weird like that. While at College she started interning at a morgue and after graduation she became a mortician. One day a man came in claiming to be a detective and was inspecting a body that had been found at a gruesome crime scene. As he looked over the body the two talked and talked for what seemed like hours. They had so much in common and it wasn't hard for her to fall for him. His schedule was weird, but he spent some good time with her. One night they finally had sex in the next week he told her that he was being transferred to Los Angeles.

She was sad and even wanted to go with him, but he convinced her not to telling her that her destiny was here in New York. What did he know about destiny? He was know Apollo. Nine months later Dorian popped out. His mother found joy in naming him after the guy who used a painting to cheat death. His life was seemingly normal for most of it. Monsters didn't seem to bother him as much as they bothered other demigod children. They may toy with a child of Hades, but who would want to mess with the first child of Death? No one knew what he might have been capable of.

Everything changed on his twelve birthday. His right hand became bony. He learned all too soon about his decay ability while playing on the playground. Fortunately he didn't learn about it by using it on a human child. He touched one of the chains on the swing and it started to rust and decay. He quickly ran home after that and told his mother. She was surprised about his abilities and urged him to hide it. She didn't know what people would think about him if they found out.

When the summer started he was brought to Camp Half-Blood by a satyr and started to understand more about himself and why he was so different from others. Things took a turn for the worse when he found out who his godly parent was. Most people stayed away from him and he became the outcast in a group of societal outcasts. He was the only child of Thanatos so he slept in his cabin alone. That changed when he learned about his ability to travel to the underworld. Whenever he went to sleep he'd slip into the Underworld to sleep among the dead. He found himself at peace down there.

One year later he met his father down there when he was about to go to sleep and instead of sleeping that night they talked and he even followed him on his soul picking errands. He told him why he was so special, but he wasn't buying it. Being the only child of someone didn't exactly make you more special than the other demigods. When the sun was about to come up he was given his sword "Reaper". He was more than glad that he wasn't given a scythe. If he did he might as well had put on a cloak and gained the rest of the skeletal look. From then on he continued to train with his powers and his sword to make something of himself. Not the uncontrollable child of death, but as Dorian Underwood.

Now he's heading to camp once again with a slightly better attitude.

Abilities - In-Depth Look:

۞ Peaceful Passage/Death Decay ۞

۵ His bone hand gives him two different abilities. He has since gained control over them, but still prefers to hide his hand with a leather glove. The first ability that his hand gives him is the power to ease the passage of someone dying. To do so he has to touch them with his bone hand and say a prayer. He only uses this if they're in intense pain from whatever it is that caused their death or is causing their death. The pain "removes" itself from their body, but the wounds stay.

The second ability his hand gives him is the power to cause decay on anything or anyone that he touches with it. Of course now that he has control of it he can touch anyone he wants with his hand without causing them to decay. The decay starts where he touches them and doesn't spread if his hand is removed from the body or object. The longer he has his hand on said object or person the more and faster they'd decay. It's dangerous to use in battle due to how fast paced fighting is.

۞ Death Drive ۞

۵ This is another power that he was given from his godly father. This power seemed to be a counter of his skill with easing people with his words. This Death Drive is a literal representation of the psychological study by Sigmund Freud. He has an invisible aura that appears in the battle field that makes others around him more reckless and self-destructive in battle. For the first two years he had at camp he couldn't control it, but then he was able to focus the aura so that it only affects his enemies or none at all. He mostly uses this against monsters.

۞ Underworld Passage/Shadow Travel ۞

۵ As a child of Death he's able to pass freely between the living world and the undead by creating a "door" for him to walk or seep through. As of yet he still hasn't learned how to bring anyone that isn't dead with him.

Unlike children of Hades he doesn't have full control over shadows, but he is able to travel through them and bring others, but at the cost of a lot of his energy.

۞ Necromancy ۞

۵ As a child of Death he also has a connection to the dead. He can summon about ten normal skeletons, but only 3 warrior ones. He can also speak with the dead telepathically as well as sense death and life auras.

Weaknesses:

Dorian is more frail than your average demigod, but where he lacks in brawn he makes up for it in his unconventional skill.

Other:

Dorian seems to have a calming ability when it comes to speaking to allies before battle. When he speaks to them it seems as if he removes their fears or worries for the time being, making them ready for battle.

He's also a surprisingly skilled swordsman, picking it up rather naturally when he got to camp.

Some people say that a son of Zeus would need to be dignified and noble in his actions. Those people had never met Jake. Thus, Jake is a bit of a free spirit. Despite the dire circumstances, there is usually a smile gracing his lips. Jake is loyal to a point and this loyalty gets him in trouble most of the time. His faith in humanity almost blinds him from seeing who a person truly is but that is to be expected from someone raised on an island. Jake is the cheerful big guy kind of person. He’s the type of guy to get into a fight and be laughing afterward. People seem almost drawn to his cheerful attitude and Jake might make a halfway decent leader if only he could learn how to use it.

However, this cheerfulness seems to be a facade of sorts. On the inside, Jake is terrified about what it means to be a half-blood. He’s scared that he won’t live up to everyone’s expectations for a person like him. He shares a parent with some of the greatest heroes of classical mythology. How can an island boy from North Carolina compare to someone like Heracles?

✔ Thunderstorms: He always felt connected to the storms that hit the Outer Banks. He learned that such storms are required for life and the very island he lived on.
✔ The Ocean: He grew on an Island. So he has to like the ocean.
✔ Boxing: He grew up learning how to fight since there was not much else to do on the island.
✔ Fishing: His adopted grandfather was a fisherman and Jake would have been too if not for all of this.
✔ Playing Guitar: Jake brought his guitar from home.

✔American Football: He’s always enjoyed the sport and keeps a football with him.

Biography:

”I sing of arms and of the man”. Or in this case, the demigod and his parents are the ones to be sung about. Like most stories of this nature, the story begins with the hero’s parents. Diane Samuels was born as close to royalty as you possibly could in New York high society. Her family had been Knickerbockers for generations and her father, Archibald Samuels, always liked to rule this fact over others like a king.He would lord his wealth and power over others with cruel malice. Everyone knee Archibald was a cruel man and none knew this fact better than his own daughter. She was expected to be perfect in all things and act in a perfect manner.

Her father controlled her entire life and yet the man never cared for her. He had always wanted a son to carry on the family name but all he had was his daughter. For that reason, he hated his daughter and kept her locked up away from the world. She was sent to the finest schools in New York but her father still kept her under control. One day, after she graduated from Columbia University, Diane met a strange man. The man was handsome, strong, and treated Diane like an equal for one of the few times in her life. The man smelled of ozone and rain but there was something off about him that she could never place. Their meeting became more and the two spent time together.

Soon after, Diane became pregnant with the man’s child. It was at this point that he explained who exactly he was. He was the god Zeus and her child would most likely be like him. The child would be different from others and that would cause problems for him. He could not be in the child’s life but he would do his best to watch him from afar.

Nine months later, Jacob Samuels was born at Lenox Hill Hospital in the Upper East Side. Diane was ecstatic at the healthy baby boy but that joy soon faded as soon as her father showed up. She could see the almost hungry greedy look in Archibald’s eyes. The King of high society finally had the son he had always wanted whether or not the boy’s mother cared. That look and the idea of her son being raised by his grandfather horrified Diane and so she came up with a plan to escape.

Using what money she could get without alerting her father, Diane bought a rusted old used car and bundled her son inside the metal box. She then fled the city in whichever direction took her as far away from New York City. Something told her to head south and so, she did. Diane did not seem to care where she was going as long as it got her son away from his grandfather. She drove south towards anywhere she might be safe.

Her path took her deep into North Carolina backwoods towards the Outer Banks. Late at night in the middle of a terrible thunderstorm, suddenly the old car sputtered and died in the middle of nowhere. Unable to get the car started, Diane began to cry. As she wept, as if sent by divine intervention, a pickup truck pulled up next to her car and a pair of elderly people got out of the cab. They introduced themselves as Richard (Dick) and Claire Garret, asked why she was in “an old rusted box like that”, and why she had a young baby in the back. Diane explained she had fled her home to escape her father and had taken her son with her. The childless couple nodded sympathetically and took them both back home to Buxton, North Carolina.

From then on, they took Diane and Jake in as part of their family. Local customs frowned on leaving strangers at the door and they had never had children of their own. So, Diane and Jake became like their own. Jake grew up in and around Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks became his home. It was the only home he had ever known. His mother rarely spoke about her life in New York but she took to island life. Her expensive education was used to set up a tax office on the island and soon the pair were accepted as members of the community. The Garrets helped to get a fake birth certificate made for Jake claiming he was a long-lost relative.

Jake, as had been predicted by his father, was never a normal kid. Dick would make sure that the boy had some stability in his life by teaching the boy how to fish as he was a fisherman. He taught Jake how to fight like “a proper country boy” should and gave the boy a love for the ocean. There was always a feeling that he shouldn’t but Jake always was connected to it. It was hard to ignore it living on a barrier island in the middle of the Atlantic. Jake never cared to ask about his father since his mother always seemed to avoid the question whenever possible.

However, Jake was always slightly different. No matter what, Jake always knew exactly when the storms would hit. He was stronger than the other children and always seemed to have trouble focusing on school work and such things. People seemed to be drawn to him as a leader without Jake really trying. His fighting skills seemed to be almost too good but that was usually attributed to his training. From the time he was twelve, he would spend most of his time on Dick’s fishing boat learning how to fish and helping the old man. It was not a flashy life but it suited the young man.

Jake most likely would have stayed in Buxton for his entire life except for a whispering on the wind. He began to hear a voice on the sea winds telling him he had to leave or else something would come for him. Despite the fact that he had never really left the Outer Banks, Jake chose to listen to the voice and left home. He got his mother’s blessing and hopped on a bus to somewhere in Long Island. Apparently, this Camp Half-Blood place was where he needed to go.

Cabin 1: Zeus: Jake found a space to sleep in away from the eyes of the Zeus statue.

None yet but he might want to be Head Counselor someday

Status:

Full-time Camper/ Unclaimed (at the start): Jake chose to stay at camp to keep any monsters from attacking his hometown. He might eventually go home to check up on his family.

Abilities:

Despite Jake’s reluctance to accept it, he’s still a son of Zeus with everything that entails. He inherited Atmokinesis, Electrokinesis, and Enhanced Leadership Skills from his father. However, a distant relative of his (his great grandfather) was a son of Mars. Jake inherited his Enhanced Physical Prowess from this ancestor.

Form:

Emotions are the most important factor for his powers. His moods tend to affect his powers.

Weapon/s:

Voltedge his sword

Jake was walking through Grand Central Station when a woman suddenly pushed a leather transport tube into his hands. All she said was “Your father thought you might need this” and ran off back into the crowd. It seems that Jake is the only one who could open the tube and remove the sword.

He is not sure what else the sword can do other than being a “cool weapon”. It occasionally crackles with electricity.

Jake would probably need to commission armor and perhaps a shield but for now, all he has is his sword.

Abilities - In-Depth Look:

۞ Atmokinesis ۞

۵Jake has always known how to spot storms but that power got stronger as he got older. He can manipulate storms to attack his enemies should he need to. He cannot call on the powers of a hurricane yet but his storm winds can buffet his enemies and the rain can help with tactics. He cannot manipulate the winds to allow himself to fly but he can call on the winds to move things on occasion.

۞ Electrokinesis ۞

۵ Jake has yet to figure out how exactly this power works. He knows he can manipulate electricity to some extent and eventually call lightning from the sky. He is still working on getting this power to do more than give himself a shock. He can still use it though.

۞ Enhanced Leadership Skills ۞

۵ People just tend to look to him for guidance. He originally thought it was because of his own charisma but now he knows that its because of his father’s godly powers. Jake is an excellent leader if he could just get his mind to work towards it. He most likely would need to work on this power more.

۞ Enhanced Physical Prowess ۞

۵ Jake considers this power to be one of his most useful and the least temperamental of his powers. Due to his legacy involving Mars, Jake is an excellent fighter even by demigod standards. He is a natural fighter and athlete which he used before he came to camp. He is capable of matching people older than he is in terms of physical prowess. He is not sure how his being a Greek demigod might interact with his Roman legacy.

Weaknesses:

To avoid a bad pun but Jake is a fish out of water. He doesn’t know what a Harpy is except it sounds like a harp. His simplicity can sometimes be an issue.

His fatal flaw could be considered his loyalty to others even those he just met.
