--- Springwood Forest ---
@Zeroth Yasunami Akitsugu,
@Dragonydas Myrravel Velasien,
@Remram Brom Stronghammer
With the trio frozen in fear from the flabby foe that was fenagling its way forward, time seemed to slow and nearly stop with every tense breath they took. The creature, roughly the size of your adult fully-grown bulldog, stared at them with menacing eyes of non-existence, and let out a nerve-rattling roar of inaudibility from an orifice whoch it didn't have. That is to say, it did jack all, except slowly gloop its way forward - towards the pile of timber collected by the far eastern blacksmith.
It nothing was done soon, the jelly-like critter would surely get its slimey self entangled in the mounds and bounds of precious firewood, happily devouring it with rackless abandon! Or, somehting along those lines. Atually it was pretty tough to ay whether slimes had feelings or could experience sensations at all... It's not like they had brains or anything that remotely resembled nerves...
Still!
IT WAS GETTING CLOSER!@Lupusintus Rinn Arniman,
@BunniesOfDoom Adrila Jaaxa
After a bit of marital horsing around, and a rare display of affection from the female spouse, the two finally noticed their on-looker. Sheryl, blushing slightly at the embarrassment of being seen, while Daryl waved happily and laughed, calling the elf over to them.
"Heya. How'd things go on your end? We're slowly getting everything on the cart off and stored into here. As you can see!"The man pointed a confident thimb over his shoulder at the various crates, boxes and containers that were now littering the floor of the stone-brick building. That is to asy, it was being unpacked, but it hand't been properly organized or put away in any coherent or practical fashion. Which, given that they were nre arrivals here, made a lot of sense. Sheryl gave them big man an elbow to his side though.
"C'mon, that's enough bragging, husband. Back to work now.""You got it, cherry pie!""Don't..:! Call me that... Jeez, you big oaf. I swear."The red head put a hand to her own forehead and sighed. Then shook her head, put on a smile and walked over to Adrila, grabbing the other woman's hands in her own.
"Well, c'mon then, dear. Blankets are this way."She led the administrative-minded elf over to the place where she'd been working. A small pile of neatly folded blankets, all brown in color, was resting ontop of a table-height box. Sheryl let go of Addie's hands and gingerly pulled one of the top-most sheets from the pile. Turning around, she presented it to the elf proudly.
"Aaaaaaaaand here you go~ Not my finest piece of work, I'll e the first to admit, but given that we needed so many in such a hurry, I couldn't exactly be too fussed about making them all perfect. They sohuld be good enough to use as bedding or for covers though." She said.
The fabric in Adrila's hands wasn't exactly what you'd call soft or high-quality, but neither was it coarse or unpleasant to the touch. Most likely, it was some kind of linen or lower grade cotton-y fabric. something none too expensive, but nontheless functional. Thankfully, it also appeared to be clean and free of both stains, grime and any particular smells or odors.
Meanwhile, the rumbling tumble of a rolling barrel could be heard growing ever closer, as a certain foppish fellow was slowly returning from his adventure in trying to tear down one of the town's mian production buildings and now get back to a place where he could, hopefully, cause a lot less damage.
@ERode MacKinnon
Arriving at the southern part of the town, the young treasure huntress would find...! More abandoned buildings. Yup. Shocker, I know.
However, structures here were a bit different too. In fact, unlike most of the other places she had visited, the girl could tell that, unlike the rest of the town, the houses here seemed much more... Uniform. They were all roughly the same size, they all shared similar styled roofs and their interior layouts were almost always the same. The dwellings here were also noticeably smaller than the ones in the east and western parts of the town. Perhaps this was the 'poor' district? Or perhaps a place where new residents, who didn't have the coin or materials to build larger homes from the get-go gathered? it was impossible to say, really. Maybe the people who'd lived here just prefered smaller residences.
Regardless, a whole new host of unexplored hollows awaited her grabby, greedy hands. But other than this, there was nothing really more noteworthy here than in any other part of the little settlement.
@CitrusArms Niara Rootwick,
@Rune_Alchemist Yingmei Okudaira
The clucking little critter moved and wiggled a little in the young woman's arms, before finally settling down in a position it was happy and comft in. And then, it just sat there. Perfectly happy to be held and carried around like a plushie or
togepi pet. Whenever Yingmei spoke, it turned its head back and up to look at her, letting out a soft 'bok' sound, as if responding. Although, it probably just thoughtit was going to get more food or something. Not like a chicken could understand common speech, that'd be absurd!
However, apart from this, the tow ladies didn't experience anyhting in particular. Their actions and decisions from here on would need to take them in one direction or another. After all, now that the mill had been discovered, there really wasn't anything left on this old plot of overgrown farmland to see. Would they get to work clearing it right away? Or were they more inclined to head back into town, new feathered friend in tow, and report their findings?
Perhaps a third, unknown option? The possibilities were infinitude!
