Commander Vadim turned his icey blue gaze onto Joji Yamazaki, looking the swordsman up and down, taking note of the Source crystal in his hand aswell as his intimidating presence at large. He did not remember seeing this man before the battle started, but it was clear he was with the other adventurers. Then he cast a look of contempt at his men who were intimidated and met the eyes of Joji once more.

"Command of that raiding force belonged the The Witch Queen, more specifically, orders likely came from one of her Lich Lord Generals. The Witch Queen is the leader of the enemy. She once belonged to The Empire - one of our prized and most powerful mages, wielding the Domains of Fire, Dark and Earth. But she was arrested on charges of dabbling in illegal magical practices and escaped into exile before she could be brought to trial. This was almost fifty years ago. And now she returns for vengance, more powerful than ever before."

Vadim eyed James who was crouched beside him as he spoke, then let Zell speak up in reponse. Died? Strange. Some people in Mytheria believed in reincarnation, it largely depended on which of the Gods and Goddesses you worshipped more. Vadim was not one of them. The only undisputed reincarnations in recorded history, as far as Vadim knew, involved the actual dieties themselves. Ressurection was something more commonly seen, though still a rare thing, requiring powerful ritual-tier magic, but the grizzled Commander was pretty certain that it didn't involve stone sarcophagi falling from the sky.

In the end, he agreed with Fenna.

"Valhiem is your best chance of finding the answers you seek. Academics may be able to point to historical precedent for your predicament. But furthermore, The Adventurers' Guild might be your best bet." He had changed his mind on them and now believed that they were as clueless as they professed about their presence here, so he informed them about their Source crystals. "Those crystals embedded into the backs of your hands... those are known as The Gift. Each adventurer has one and it connects you to The Wellsprings, giving you incredible power among many other things. Go to The Adventurers Guild where you may scan your crystals. There is much information unique to yourselves that you find in The Source Code. Perhaps there is some clue as to how you came to be here."

"One thing I do know..." Vadim started. Heads suddenly began turning up as an object in the sky caught their attention. "...stone coffins don't ordinarily just fall from the..."

He faltered. One by one everyone looked to see yet another plummeting stone sarcophagus hurtle to the ground and crash in the courtyard. It landed close by the formed group at the eastern gate, causing a few skittish townguards to dive or shift quickly away, but the only thing that touched anyone was a wave of wind and dust.

"...sky." Vadim finally finished, not unaware of the irony, but in no mood to smile. "For The Quinity's sake," he muttered with a slight shake of his head.
<Snipped quote by Zapdos>

"Hey! You! You're finally awake!

You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us and that thief over there."

Hi from after work, off to bed and brain is gone so have a meme and a link for the road.

No this isn't all I do, but hey all in good fun here OOC. XD

I fully endorse Crusader Lord's memery. 2 for 2 on legend tier game memes so far! Undefeated and undisputed!
I like the different perspectives that are being brought to the RP here. It makes reading the posts more interesting!

Agreed. We have an eclectic cast here making for a fun ride as a GM. Thanks to everyone for your contributions so far!
@Teyao

Vadim: "This isn't just an everyday occurence. Coffins aren't just constantly falling from the damn sky!"

(Queue Lillianna's sarcophagus crashing like a meteor into the background of the camera shot.)

Vadim: "..."

Teyao: "..."

Vadim: "You have got to be kidding me!"
@ZapdosThat's pretty interesting. I'm not sure I have the creativity or skill required for that, having RP'd for 15 years. Props to you, Zapdos.

I have a shelf full of mains that have all been in at least 2 different RP universes. And then, because of running so many RPs, I have 2 shelves full of side characters who appear all over the place. Some of my side characters even got promoted to main shelf after a number of cameos and showings in various RPs. My main's sometimes show as side characters too lol. I support recycling!
@ZoolAhh, the conveniences of being a hero in a DnD setting lol. Also Deutsch is the German language. I think you meant Dutch when referring to Fenna who is from the Netherlands. Just a heads up.

@Dark CloudZool's go to character is Tara, the sassy, scrappy peasant girl who absolutely would have tried to dropkick one of those ogres lol powers or not.
I posted again also. Not an update, just a little something from Vadim to keep the flow and to add knowledge about the 'Adventurer Inventory' situation.

It felt to Vadim like his prayers were being answered when the first two adventurers spoke up. He nodded at their words, then looked at one of a soldier named Lewis and gave him the nod of approval to fetch the things that Adam and Fenna were asking for. Lewis had taken soldiers with him to prepare bedrolls and provisions for each adventurer. They made sure to include a compass and a map for Adam.

"You are a noble man," Vadim said to Clive in response to his words. "If there are more like you, where you are from, then those people are fortunate indeed." Vadim felt, when he looked in the eyes of Clive, that this was truly an honest-eyed and simple farm man - just as he had said - and Vadim could relate to a man like that. Perhaps if they'd had more time, he would've come to like him, just as he'd come to respect him now. "But I insist on your reward," he continued assertively. "My people will take refuge in Bridgeton where we will shore up the defenses and weather the storm with strength in numbers. If this silver will help save the world, then it is silver that could not be better off anywhere else but in possession of your party."

When the soldier handed over the adventurers' reward, he chose to hand it over to the closest one to him that had a backpack - MacKensie. Once she put it away in her backpack, she would feel it's weight and bulk magically minimize. This was just one of many gifts from the power of Source Crystal in each adventurers hand - a power that connected them to the very Wellsprings of Existence, where even the laws of time and space were created.

All of the adventurers would be able to carry a considerable amount in their belt satchels and backpacks, weight and bulk minimized in a similar way. There was though, a limit to this power, in it's raw base level. But such enchantments and magic had been researched and developed over the centuries to create expensive Magical Haversacks that a person - adventurer or not - could wear to enjoy seemingly limitless carry weight, provided they had a considerable amount of wealth to purchase one.
@Eviledd1984Don't sweat it brother, the deadline for this update is Saturday night!

You will always have 7 days to get your post done, from the time of my last post.
Guardsman - "Wake up, adventurer. The battle isn't yet done."

Two lines later - the battle is over :P

Anyway, since Vadim is talking to Adam, I'll do my best to get a post up. There's a lot to cover though so I don't know how long that'll take, but I'll do my best. I have an outline in my head, but I don't know how it'll translate to actual writing.

lmao it was like 4am while I was writing that! I wish I hadn't posted it until I'd gotten some shuteye. I would've changed a lot.
