@Lucius CypherI'm going to be perfectly honest, if that's your interpretation of it that's cool.
But honestly, I think the angels have pretty much have the shaft this entire time. Firstly, they're inherently weak against the Machina. I don't think any of the angels ever really just 'blitzed their defenses'. If anything, the only ones doing major damage to the Machina were the demons from what I saw, while the angels were mostly on the defensive most of the time looking for a weak point to try and get into the Elicitor. Because, for one, their holy arts are
weak to man and their machines.
They made short work of the demons and their corruption, of course, as it was seen. Victoire was a major disadvantage there, and to be honest, the only demon that I ever saw that was even remotely hindered by the angels or machina. Silana and Suparna made short work of their foe and got in completely unhindered. They just apparently haven't had time to get further in, despite being inside of it.
As for the climactic moment? Hell goddamn no, there's so many ways this can play out at the moment from a strategic standpoint. The Angels still have the Valkyries for example. I'm not entirely sure of their power here, but what if they just used a goddamn giant solarbeam to unearth the elicitor or something? If that's the case, then we should have been informed from the beginning that's what the valkyries are capable of, so we could have better worked that into the planning.

Also keep in mind here the Angels have been completely owning everyone else. I don't think that's a clear victory for the Machina.
Again...I'm just going to offer a differing opinion there. The only thing the angels have actually done, is fight of Victoire, duel Grafdakka and barely get an agent inside, only to have her captured almost immediately whilst the demons have almost unhindered access to the Elicitor at the moment while the Machina in my opinion seem to be honestly the least injured out of everyone.
They've honestly made the least headway in regards to this fight. If anything, the demons have had the most progress.
...I dunno, I'm going to stop rambling here but I am admittedly, not very happy with this decision. This doesn't seem like it can end smoothly or logically in three posts from everyone else. There's too much that can happen.
EDIT: You have to remember a battle is always about more than just 'who kills the most amount of men', but is rather 'how quickly and efficiently you complete your objectives for that battle' At the moment, the Machina are simply smooth sailing and haven't had any major hindrances at all, despite apparently being infested with demons now, while the demons are making good progress and the only ones who have made zero headway are the angels.
Which is fine, if that's the way it logically plays out, but it seems like the Machina in my opinion have just had it...really, really, easy for it to end so completely early.
