Amelia Payne

Location:Sharpsburg , Main st.(F11)
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

Now that her last vestiges and reason for tension were dealt with, now that she knew Riley was alive, others were alive and they had a solid protected place to rest, Amelia's body finally gave up on her. She closed her eyes, she tried to stay awake, but as soon as she had blinked a few times, her eyelids felt like lead and her mind was foggy and then she fell asleep almost right away. Her body relaxed down on the sofa, displaying a degree of frailty and defenselessness that only someone who was deep in sleep could do. The safehouse and the knowledge of those who still lived made her feel relaxed enough.

Finally her mind was freed from the painful confines of her body. Her aching muscles didn't scream at her and she had a rather empty dream this time around. She had seen the horrific death of someone she knew for quite a while now. She also knew many of the others probably died. Still she was probably just too drained to actually dream properly. Because her dream consisted mostly of her sleeping and laying on a endless flowerbed that was located on the edge of a pond so it was all in all quite the pleasant experience right now.

Not to say she didn't actually stir up a few times right after she fell asleep within the minute of it, but overall she stood there nearly deathly still, until tears burst again while she slept and she started mumbling how glad she was that a certain singer was still alive.

Eden

Location: Eden: Veranda (Near hallway leading towards Wrath), Envy
Skills: Survival, Pistol, Close Combat Fighting, Shotgun, Brawling, Hunting

Thana pushed up the stairs and stopped as she looked down at Lola. It was bound to happen. The woman seemed bent on rushing head first at anything and everything without a second thought. It seemed to have worked for her for a while but as Thana looked down at her lifeless body she couldn't feel any remorse for coming to Eden. She doubted they would get out of this situation without someone dying and if the woman was hell bent on not looking before leaping, it was her own fault. Thana was practical on the matter.

Not that she didn't feel sorry for Thalia though as she watched her. She had lost someone she cared for obviously, that was never hard. Thalia had wanted this trip as much as Thana had it seemed, so perhaps she blamed herself. Thana could have comforted her or said something but that wasn't how she was. That would have been something Zoie would have done but then again, Zoie had been the look before she leapt kind of girl as well and she was also dead. Perhaps people should be more careful. Everyone died yes, but you didn't have to open the door and welcome the grim reaper to dinner.

Gavin right then though wasn't thinking so much about what he was doing. He was looking before he leapt. He had taken one in the shoulder. It hurt like a bitch and it was bleeding but he was pumped full of adrenaline and rage right then. It wasn't in his dominate shoulder so he wasn't going to let it slow him down. They had fire coming in and even through Alexander and Thalia had taken out a lot of the cross fire there were obviously still more.

Thana made it to the top of the stairs and caught Gavin looking at her. She knew he wasn't going to stop and she wasn't gong to try. Best she could do right then was provide support. "I'll cover you," she said as she stepped off and started firing. It was enough to make the Edenite in the hallway of Envy duck down. Gavin took the opportunity and rushed forward. Firing off a round and plugging the bastard in the forehead.

Thana moved forward but Gavin kept rushing into Envy and kept firing. He managed to take out two more before calling, "Clear!" back at them and stopping for a second. Reaching down and searching the one that was closest to him. He needed a patch job on his shoulder, at least a tourniquet or something to stave off the blood. Yet that hadn't crossed his mind. He was looking for ammo and weapons, not a band-aide.

Thana turned the corner and fired off two rounds back to back, blowing the back of the head and chest off the woman in the hallway that lead towards Wrath. Pumping the shot gun the shell went flying and she loaded more into it as she kept an eye on the hallway. She had seen another through a window when she came to the top of the stairs but they hadn't moved. Why she didn't know but they'd find out sooner or later.

Emanuel "Manny" Newman

Location: Eden
Skills: Fast Reflexes,Shotguns

As Manny fired his initial two shots, things went all to hell, gunshots going every direction possible, people running all over, Manny wasn't even sure his shots hit anything. By the time he processed what was going on there was a woman charging him, he lifted his gun to shoot again but before he pulled the trigger parts of her skull exploded everywhere, and from what he could see parts of her back as well. "Jesus Fuck!" He screamed. Despite several people just dying at his hand, this seemed harsher, could that be because she was shot in the back? maybe it was because he wasn't shooting this time, and was an observer, either way, it made Manny feel uneasy. Though he didn't realize how much in danger he was until the girl dropped, and there was another girl looking at him with a shotgun aimed at his general direction.

When this registered to Manny a single thought went through his head. "My luck with woman never seems to go well does it?" When this registered though he took cover, not wanting to lose his face to a scary woman with a shotgun. "Shit, shit, shit." He said quietly. Now he was forced into a corner, in a room with no defenses to speak of, and two shells in the shotgun. Though, she killed the Edeninte that tried to charge, though he wondered if she was going for Manny or the woman, either way, she didn't seem to be with them. He had to take a chance, because if they were not friendly, there was no way he could hold this room with its few defenses, limited ammo, and his poor endurance, especially if he wanted to save the others in the cage. If they were saveable.

Manny stuck one arm out of the doorway, holding the shotgun just below the pump, to try and act non threatening. "DON'T SHOOT! I'M NOT ONE OF THEM!" Granted, if more shots went off he could in theory retract his arm and be ready to make a last stand. Chances were slim but maybe if it was one shot per person, he could hold the room. Assuming he lasted long enough to do that. If they didn't shoot, it would be Manny's best luck since he left his old community, maybe he could even find a place to set up shop again, help people from a real place of operations, or he would just get shot and bleed out, that would suck though.

Raymond perked up slightly when Guy started to hand him the radio as Medic held it out for him, he reached over towards the radio, so long as he got to hear hers voice that would make him very happy. "Thank you Guy and Medic." Ray said, before gently taking it from him and finally started to speak into it. "Tiffany, are you there can you hear me?" Ray asked, his breathing was a bit heavy he was just really and truly happy that she made it out alive. He didn't want to end up being alone again like he was before the outbreak, Ray looked over his shoulder towards Guy and Amelia seeing the two of them sitting there for a moment.

Ray wanted to know everything that had happened since Newnan fell, but he knew he also had to keep it really short as well so that Amelia had a chance to speak. "I'm so happy that you got out of there." Ray said as he rubbed the back of his neck and looked out the window for a moment. He couldn't think of living alone without Tiffany around, it was funny that they woke up in bed together just hours ago in the morning. And then the next moment they were all fighting for their lives to get out of Newnan before it crumbled.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse. (E10)
Skills: N/A

Riley listened in on the radio as Guy wanted to hand the radio to Ray on the other end to talk to Tiffany on their end, Riley finished up eating before turning her attention towards Jack. She knew that Tatiana meant everything to him, and she felt bad that she and Tiffany had managed to find their loved ones were alive and well. Riley decided to get up and try and see if he was alright, she had lost her sister and if Tatiana didn't survive she wanted to at least be there for him. Riley then moved over and gently tapped him on the shoulder and gave him a slight smile.

"How are you holding up Jack?" Riley finally asked as she sat down next to him, and looked at him she was a morale officer back in Newnan, and she wanted to do her best to cheer anyone up. Even if they didn't have walls or Newnan anymore Riley still had a job to do and try and cheer those up around her. Riley wasn't sure if she wanted to ask him how they actually managed to get out of Newnan alive, she wasn't even sure if they were near or around anyone else while they escaped. "I'm sure Tati is with the other safehouse, and she's with Froggy and whoever else managed to get out." Riley said trying to be optimistic over everything that had happened today.

Ash Holloway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: Leadership

There was a calm sort of reassurance in having a plan. Even if that plan was horrible. That was a life lesson that Ash had picked up from his years in the Army. It could be argued that he was simultaneously in and out of the military at this time, never having been relieved nor discharged from active duty, while at the same time pretty damned certain that there wasn't a United States, persay, let alone a United States Army. But that was an odd, passing thought. The central theme to the evening, aside from the utter loss that everyone was suffering, was that they had something akin to a plan going on. With that plan came a sense of movement; they were working together toward a common goal. And contrary to his first musing, the plan was not horrible. It was solid, thought out in advance, and so far bearing results. Just not as many results as he would have preferred. That part was disheartening.

But not everyone had their entire life ripped away from them. Ash nodded soberly when Guy asked him to hand the mic to Tiffany. "Copy that, Guy. Keep those people safe, will be in touch at sunrise. Standby for Legal." A silly nickname, he was aware, but with potential hostiles a few miles down the road (that he was aware of), not to mention the mystery caller on their frequency (if garbled), he wasn't fully comfortable using uncoded names or locations. Ash and Guy were already mentioned, and Tiff could go either way. Well, damage done. Maybe they'd be more careful the next day.

"Tiffany, you're up. Keep it brief." he said, setting the mic down and rising from his knee. "Anyone else, make a line." His voice was weary. Not tired, but truly weary. He was worried beyond sense, deep beneath his surface, though something inside of him wouldn't let it bubble up. Miles away, Thana and a cast of mildly disturbed players were launching an assault that he really wished he could be a part of. He walked to one of the boarded up windows by the door with slow, heavy footsteps, pausing briefly to give Jack's shoulder a squeeze. Ash understood a lot of what he was going through, though likely not as keenly as the man was feeling it right then. He exhaled heavily and pulled a random crate to the window, sat, and peered through a separation in the boards. The Hordebuster was still there, motionless in the evening air. His was the first watch.

Absently, Ash pierced his MRE with his knife, a painful looking thing that seemed more at home in a backwoods bar brawl than as an eating utensil, and pulled out the main entree. Chicken with dumplings. Why the hell not?

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, top of stairs
Skills: Stealth, Pistol, Sharp Weapons

A slight growl escaped Thalia's lips. She was channeling her bloodline hard, a thing that she rarely found herself doing since her time in Fairburn with the Valkyries. In a very short time, the number of people she had personally killed had shot up dramatically. In an odd way, it was much more satisfying than spearing Zeds, like they had only been practice for the real event today. Thalia had thought that the very idea would have troubled her in some way, and maybe it would yet. But right then, it felt like she was slipping into a comfortable leather jacket. The kind of jacket that belonged to a mother or an aunt; someone with similar tastes and body type that had already broken the thing in, classic and completely badassed. This was a righteous cause and calling, moreover she was more dangerous now, more apt to do what must be done since the Apocalypse. Thalia honestly felt like a shadow of the souls of her fallen, a reflection perhaps, was passed onto her after their deaths. Alicia, Caesar, Astrid, Bridgette... and now Lola. She wasn't family, not like the others were. But her friendship saved Thalia's life. That was probably what family meant these days. She would remember and she would celebrate, be they in the Halls of Valhalla or the Land of Remembered Dead.

Before the remembering and celebrating, there would have to be more killing, motivated by quiet passion.

Thalia heard the gunshots from the next rooms over, heard Gavin's proclamation of "Clear", a thing that while cliched, she participated in herself downstairs. She also picked up the noise from elsewhere nearby, more gunshots and shouting. Meanwhile, the other members of her group, such as it was, were elsewhere in the same room junction she was or coming up the stairs. They were in danger of getting too spread out, which is exactly how people without the benefit of stealth training got themselves killed. The place where most of them were positively reeked of killing ground; a place where one did not want to be for the benefit of survival. To many points of entrance to cover, unfamiliar territory, and out in the open. She didn't like it. Thalia carefully slid her machete into her back sheath and drew her company issue Glock from its holster. Two guns at the ready, she quietly, stalked up behind Thana. As she neared, Thalia pointed one of her weapons back the way she came, the other at the stranger with the shotgun.

She must have been quite the sight: Spattered with blood from several close-up machete kills, face painted grey and black as the face of Death herself, the ash marred by twin lines of drying tears. Her expression was that of horrifying apathy backed by smouldering intensity, a flame waiting for its moment to rage. Edged calm permeated her voice as she spoke quietly, "Your call, Navy. We gaht things to do." From her tone, Thalia was good either way.

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Arnco Mills
Skills: N/A

Tiffany was awake now, having heard the radio conversation. She didn't even think about asking to talk to Ray. She assumed they didn't want to tie up the line that much, but she wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to finally talk to Ray again. She glanced over at Jack, who was silent. It unsettled her, but surely Tatiana was alive. They would find her soon.

Tiffany stood up and made her way over to Ash, picking up the talkie. He used a weird name though. Legal? She guessed it worked, but even still, their names were already out there. She nodded her understanding. She wanted a few words anyway. "I'm here."

Just listening to Ray talk, even briefly, brought tears to her eyes. She held them in though. "I'm happy you are safe and ok. We'll see each other again soon. Can't take up too much time, but I want to say I love you. Very much." She felt her eyes sting, but she held firm (as firm as she could). Just knowing he was safe made her feel better. She waited to hear his last reply before she would hand the talkie to Riley so she could talk to Amelia.

Alexander Polawski

Location:Eden: Terrace, near stairs - Veranda, near hallway leading to Wrath.
Skills: Pistol, Navigation

Alexander couldn't decide if Gavin was being heroic in his effort to take out another room filled with Edenites, which would make their position less exposed, or reckless for doing it without first attending to his injuries. Sure it could have been a mostly harmless gun-shot wound that would only become a major issue if infected or cause severe blood-loss, and they didn't have the luxuary of a medic in the squad with morphine, bandages and that glue-spray. For they had to keep moving and keep up the pressure on an enemy with superior numbers, but Alexander was still concerned that Gavin didn't even acknowledge his concern. That, and that it was the adrenaline alone keeping their cowboy alive. But he got the room cleared with the pleasent word of "Clear!", which meant that it was time to move.

Move, give covering-fire for the others to move, more under their covering-fire. Rinse and repeat, that was the Army way of doing it. It was Their way of doing it, and smart way. Alexander saw Navy T push up to the hallway to their left, probably west, and opening fire at someone. She was military, she knew what she was doing. Even if she was Navy. After Thalia joined behind Thana, Alexander moved up to them and held his pistol at the ready. And to his great surprise, they weren't getting shot at. The man...someone, whoever was taking cover down the hallway, had shouted that he wasn't one of them, pleading them not to shoot him. It was a nice change of pace, but Alexander had his doubts.

It was the oldest trick in the book. At least in the top-ten. Alexander had experienced it himself before; unknown Vietnamese man approaching them out on patrol, claiming to be either a peaceful peasent out in the jungle or a NVA/Viet-Cong deserter. While promising to cause them no harm, it was all a pretty convincing decoy while their position was getting surrounded. First time they were too naive, and second time they shot the man without second thought, but with regret for years to come.

Alexander wanted to believe whoever claimed to not be one of "Them", but the risk of it being a trick was very present in his mind. Probably was both T's too. As he stood behind Thana and Thalia, looking from the hallway and over to their rear in the south in case they might get flanked, he kept quiet waiting for Navy's lead. Like Thalia he could support either decision, even if he preferred the first and feared the latter.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Eden - Veranda
Skills: Pistol, Hand-to-Hand Combat, Stamina

Beatrice couldn't help but wonder if Gavin would be the next one killed by recklessness. If that was the case, she and Thana would be the only ones who had spent any time in Newnan, the community that Eden had so thoroughly terrorized. And while Beatrice knew Thana had been made a lead, she didn't consider her to have been a member of Newnan. She hadn't even been there for a week. Neither had Gavin, for that matter. If anything, they were tourists. It wasn't something that Beatrice intended to point out to anyone, just a private thought to be kept to herself. It truthfully didn't matter, anyways. There wasn't a Newnan left to care about, from what Beatrice knew.

Beatrice came up behind Thalia and Thana along with Old Timer, raising an eyebrow as someone shouted out that they weren't a part of Eden. Truthfully, had Beatrice been the one calling the shots, she would have just killed them. It was easier that way. If they were lying, then good riddance. And if they were telling the truth...well, after the traumas Eden had put them through, death might have been a good option for their psyche anyways. She doubted anyone could get out of this place without being at least a little nutty - and she didn't want to babysit crazy.

But these people....Beatrice would've been surprised if they didn't make the call to spare the person's life. And she fully anticipated that they would end up regretting that choice.

Jack Hudson

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: N/A

Jack tried his best to be happy for his friends, knowing that their loved ones had survived. Although he knew (obviously) about Ray and Tiffany, he was unaware of Amelia and Riley becoming a couple. In the chaos of his wedding day, he hadn't been privy to that detail. He thought for a moment about making himself put on a brave face and get in line to use the radio, but truthfully, he couldn't bring himself to speak at all. He just nodded at Riley when she asked him how he was holding up, listening to her assurances that Tatiana would be okay.

But in this world, that sort of thing couldn't be guaranteed. He knew that the plan would be to move onto the next check point in the morning. Jack then silently made a plan of his own. If they didn't find Tatiana there, he'd stay behind and turn over every stone in the state of Georgia if that's what it took to find her. Dead or alive, he just had to know what had happened to Tatiana and he was determined to find out, even if it meant he had to pay with his life. And if someone had done something to Tatiana, he didn't care who they were....Walker, human, even Mother Nature....He'd rip them apart. He had everything just a day ago and now, he could easily have nothing.

He was tired of losing soulmates.

Amelia Payne

Location:Sharpsburg , Main st.(F11)
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

Amelia didn't wake up right away at Guy's efforts, but after the shake of her shoulder around the end of it, she slowly opened her eyes in a real tired manner. She was wondering how long she had slept, she felt it like she had literally just fallen asleep, her body was hurting still and the surroundings haven't changed any.” Wha...? Is it morning already?” She mumbled in confusion, before her mind finally registered what was being said and she tried to wake up.

“Yes... thank you, I want.” She replied, raising from the rugged sofa with a struggle. She felt a little embarrassed about waking up like that and speaking nonsense. Finally she was at a seating position, waiting for Ray to finish speaking. She looked at Ray who was obviously talking to Tiffany. Then at Guy and then all around. She felt like falling asleep right away still. She barely could move and her mind was foggy, but she wanted to hear Riley.

While she waited for her turn to come, she pinched her leg in an attempt to wake herself up. She was half afraid this was a dream. A beautiful dream that she'd wake up and it would be gone. Seeing she wasn't waking up from it, she let herself believe that Riley was indeed alive and felt a relief all over again. She wondered how many others were still around... how many were already dead? No she didn't have to think about the dead right now. She had to stay positive as much as possible.

Eden

Location: Eden: Lower Lobby, Salon
Skills: Survival, Pistol, Close Combat Fighting, Shotgun, Brawling, Hunting

Thana stood there with her shot gun pointed in the direction of the new comer. She didn't like this. Sure he could be just some innocent by stander that got caught up in this shit show but then again he could just be trying to fool her. Thing was as she thought back to people of Eden that they had run into one thing had remained constant. They had no problem shooting people and trying to get them to fight by the words they said. They had yet to try the stall tactic. Could be they were just changing up their strategy, could be just some poor fool wanting to get out of this alive.

Gavin came walking back into the main area and spotted the rest coming up behind Thana. Seemed they had Strawberries back covered. He didn't waste time, spotting the Edenite behind the window back towards the stairs and he went all cowboy. Running off and crashing through the window. Tackling the man and pummeling him in the face. It was a hell of a scrap but Gavin came out on top and put a bullet in the mans chest before boot stomping his head in. Gavin wasn't playing that was for sure.

Slowly Thana walked down the hallway and towards the door. "Thalia, Beatrice with me. Alexander, take care of you fellow Baby Boomer. He pulls anything, treat him like a hostile Charlie," she said, giving a swift order as she looked the man over and kept pressing forward. That was the best she was willing to do. Not an instant death but he would be killed if he pulled anything. She might have been Zoies twin, and the world may have gone to shit, but in the end she was still a sailor in the US Navy at heart. It was just who she was and right then, if someone surrendered they were going to be taken as a POW as it were. There was a fine line between killing and murder.

Gavin really didn't give two shits right then. Leaning down and rummaging through the dead mans pockets. He found a few more rounds, a decent knife, a pack of smokes, and a lighter on the guy. So he pocketed it and stood up. Wiping the blood and brain matter from his boots on the dead mans shirt. It had been a hell of a day so far and they had taken down quite a few Edenites, granted they had also lost Lola. That was a double hit. Losing one of their own and on top of that, probably losing the use of the womans tank. That thing was a self propelled fortress. Yet he knew he didn't know how to drive the damn thing, he doubted anyone else did as well.

Thana made it to the end of the hallway and checked the corners before continuing on and pushing into the lower lobby on the second floor. Everything was clear so far. She wondered for a moment if they had cleared the floor, if that was all that was left but then she remembered someone mentioning a man named Adamm. The guy behind the hell that was Eden. He was supposed to be older and rather demented, balding with long white hair. She hadn't seen any old man... besides the one that just poked his head out and he didn't fit the description fully. That was probably what had saved him right then. Checking her weapon she took a breath. The bastard better be here somewhere.

Ash Holloway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: Leadership

The chicken and dumplings found in the MRE were exactly as he remembered them. They even pulled the odd memory from years past, taking a quick break from establishing a fortification or installing a water system for a friendly settlement to sit down in the shade and rip open some quick but nourishing C class rations. Just like now, he didn't bother to use the heating element, preferring to pocket it instead. He knew of a few interesting things to do with a stable chemical heating element in pressed situation. Some of them were outright devious in their simple ingenuity; soldiers, especially military engineers, were a resourceful bunch.

Before he had finished his meal proper, Ash remembered that he wanted to take stock of what supplies they had. He squeezed the remainder of the room temperature entree from its plastic pouch and into his mouth, then tucked the empty container back into the MRE's outer bag. He took a long look at the pile of bags and supplies in the middle of the room. It was a good haul for a group out in the world, certainly, though it was a pittance considering what they had to work with just a day ago.

One bag was separate from the others. At first, he didn't recognize the bag. They didn't pull it from the house, the Hordebuster, nor was it his personal ruck. Then it hit him: That was Thana's personal bag. If he was going to assess what they had to work with, he may as well start there. Ash wasn't going through her belongings because he thought that she was dead, at least that's what he forced himself to put out of his mind, it was an honest assessment of what they had at their disposal. For whatever situation might pop up, he needed to know if she had an extra gun in there, or a firestarter, or some manner of odd widget that seemed useless now but would reveal itself to be insanely necessary at just the right moment. It wasn't a breach of her privacy. At least he hoped it would not be viewed that way when he saw her again. If.

The dog tags around his neck seemed to grow cold. He had both his and Thana's now, and had just became very conscious of that fact. If only his father could see him now, pining over a Navy girl. It likely would have led to a mildly uncomfortable discussion around the dinner table. Or it would have, things being different. But that was a different world altogether, now. Ash put it out of his mind and opened the pack. He looked inside and took a deep breath to steady himself.

It wasn't anything too unexpected, really. A half dozen MREs and a decent knife stood out first. The knife was a Gerber, he could tell that right off. So far as military knives went, he was a KA-BAR man himself, but Gerber put out a fine stabbing utensil, no doubt. But then two things got him: One was a mostly full can of Folgers Coffee. The other was a neatly folded Navy Class A Uniform, known better among those in the know as Dress Blues. Her old formal uniform. He didn't take it out to get a better look, preferring to just sit there, staring at it for a few seconds before hanging his head. Everything went back in the pack. He set it carefully on the floor, remaining seated. Ash needed a moment before checking anything else.

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, Lower Lobby
Skills: Stealth, Survival, Pistol

Thalia shook her head. This was probably the wrong decision. If nothing else, she didn't want to worry about who was at her back. The only person that she even knew at the beginning of this day was laying on the ground, covered in her own blood and never to open her eyes again. The rest of these assholes and reprobates she had met a matter of short hours ago. Well, a couple of them seemed okay, and she was getting a grudging amount of respect for the old man, Alexander, despite the impression he had left her with at first. She trusted the guy to do what needed to be done, provided the poor bastard revealed intentions other than what he was weeping about just before. Still, an amount of surety would have come with a bullet.

She likewise shook her head at Thana's sudden dip back into acting the Officer. Hell, maybe it was for the best. Thalia had her own plans as to what she wanted to do tactically within these walls, foremost being locating the armory (if there was one) and/or taking out as many with stealth as possible. Admittedly, that last bit seemed to have been put off by things beyond their immediate control. And for her, locating an Armory was more about preventing others from accessing it than getting hold of the goodies for herself, anyway. She was a blade and pistol girl mostly. In circumstances such as these, at any rate.

Well, Thana had given an order. Or their present small-unit strategy. Whatever. It seemed like a decent enough plan, too - The three women took the vanguard while Mugs handles the new guy (rescue?) and keeps an eye on him. Thana hurried to take the lead, and Thalia set her jaw with stoic determination and looked to Alexander, offering, "Sorry you're on bitch detail." before rushing to join the even more determined woman who had already gotten ahead of her.

She stayed a step or two back from the lady she had fallen into the habit of calling "Navy", still holding two pistols at relaxed guard at 45 degree angles from her center line. "Got your flanks." she said quietly. The last thing they needed was some asshat leaping out from a side room and making life interesting. She'd rather put a knife to these people, in all honesty. Being a realist and a survivalist, Thalia understood that her preferences were not always the right path to staying alive.

Raymond smiled as he tried his best to hold back a few tears the moment that he heard Tiffany's voice he was really happy to hear from her voice. "Thank god you are okay." Ray said he couldn't help but smile, but he knew that he needed to keep it short he was really happy to hear those words. "I love you so very much. I understand, just stay safe and be careful. I love you, and will see you soon." Raymond as much as he wanted to have a full on conversation, he was content with simply just talking briefly and hearing her voice once more. Ray wasn't sure if it would be the last time or not. Ray wasn't sure what tomorrow would bring at all, and he probably wouldn't be really prepared for it.

Ray then looked over towards Amelia seeing her just waking up now. "Here's Amelia." Ray said before waving for Amelia to come up next to take the radio next. Once it was taken Raymond looked over his shoulder at Medic and turned to face him, he wanted to get patched up and then to get some sleep. The day had been a real shit show, he was just so happy to hear Tiffany's voice, he didn't want to ever be separated from her again once they got back together.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse. (E10)
Skills: N/A

Riley looked over her shoulder at Tiffany and smiled slightly towards her as the two of them talked over the radio, her attention turned back towards Jack she was still worried about him. Riley stood up, and made her way over towards where Tiffany was, and gave her a slight smile. "Thank you." Riley said towards her, before gently taking the radio and went to sit back down where she had been sitting before, and finally spoke into it. "Are you there Amelia?" Riley asked, she wanted to do her best to remain calm, after losing Chloe she was just glad to hear Amelia was alive and well.

Riley would occasionally look over towards Ashton as he went about going and taking some stock on what they had, she needed to have something to do. As Riley leaned back she waited for Amelia to pick up on the other end of the line, she sighed slightly and took a drink from her bottle of water. She wanted to make sure that Tatiana was alright as well she wanted to see Jack happy as well, she knew that they needed to have their conversation short and pass it on to whoever wanted it next, but she wanted to hear Amelia's voice first.

Alexander Polawski

Location:Eden: Hallway outside Wrath
Skills: Pistol

So that was how he was going to play that game, taking the man as a good old POW and making sure he didn't fuck over their situation. That was what Thana ordered him to do - Yes, ordered, like a true NCO who either didn't want to take care of the situation him/herself or couldn't -, and he was going to follow that order as best he could. Even if she had found yet another way to point out that Alexander was old.

"Roger that. Good luck." Alexander said back to Thana after her order and moving up at a reasonable pace towards their new prisoner of war. He looked quickly back at Thalia after her comment about being on 'bitch detail', not certain he understood what she really meant by it, though he could make an solid, educated guess on it. "Been through worse, but thanks. Be careful." He hoped they would be fine, finding a very brief moment to ask God, if He still existed and/or cared for their protection. But he soon was back on duty.

Alexander approached the man in the doorway, their new POW with the shotgun, his gun pointed at the man as he came into view. "You heard the lady; do anything stupid, and I'll have permission to make your day a whole lot worse than it already has. Now put the gun down on the ground SLOWLY, and come out here where I can see your clearly." Alexander hadn't used that voice in a long time, not since he had told some vandalizing teenagers to leave his store before he'd make them leave, or back during the war. It felt somewhat foreign to him, but yet it came naturally. He really hoped this wouldn't come back to bite them all in the ass later. "Holds your hands where I can see them, and don't try anything stupid, you hear? I'm in no mood for shooting prisoners. Now, who in the name of God are you, and what the Hell are you doing in this place if you ain't one of them?"

Tiffany Lyle

Location: Arnco Mills
Skills: N/A

Tiffany gripped the walkie before handing it over to Riley. She nodded and patted her on the shoulder before she stood up and walked back to her makeshift bed. She was happy she got to speak with Ray at the very least. It settled her mind, which had been going haywire for the past few hours now. Soon, she would be reunited with him.

Then she glanced at Jack. The man lost before and it was looking like he might again. Still, no news was good news. They hadn't lost her yet. She may turn up at the meeting point. Or perhaps she was safe elsewhere. Tiffany prayed for Tatiana's sake and Jack's sake that they would be reunited.

Tiffany settled in again and prepared to rest before her watch. She had been so very tired and it hit her again just how tired she was. She closed her eyes, preparing to sleep, with visions of Ray dancing in her head. The good kind this time.

Emanuel "Manny" Newman

Location: Eden, outside of Wraith
Skills: N/A

Now first woman past him, the one who had first pointed a gun at him, and the one that they seemed to call Navy, started giving orders, but things seemed to be going okay. As the situation progressed more and more people showed, none of them shot him but they all seemed open to the idea of shooting him. Before things escalated he set the shotgun to the side slowly with both of his hand visible, last thing he wanted was to get shot in a world where the ability to treat a major injury was almost non existent. "I am not a fighter, just a doctor, no need for hostilities." The room behind him would differ, but if things had gone much differently he would be one of those dead bodies in the room behind him. Though, the thought of one of them turning during this seemed to make him uneasy as well, especially if these people did not trust him enough to let him be armed.

Most of the group passed him to clear the rest of the floor, while The Fellow Baby Boomer watched over Manny and secured the stairs to the floor below. He assumed that was the case, having a horde of walkers roam their way up the steps would be a bad thing to happen right now, or more of these sick bastards attempting a flank on them. He hoped they had thought of that, being surrounded here was probably the worst thing that could happen, especially since the attacking force did not seem as big as Manny had thought. Manny wondered how things would be if the entire floor was watching that stair way and the couple hallways near it. It would be a blood bath, guess they really took them off guard. Or maybe there was more to it then Manny was understanding, he wasn't a Master General, just a simple survivor attempting to not get executed.

One of the other girls, Beatrice or Thalia, he wasn't sure yet, he just knew that those two were those names, ended up calling him a bitch, which Manny did a slight chuckle too, thinking about the literal meaning as female dog. He did his best to hide it. Once the other survivors left it was just Manny and the other old timer they called Alexander. "Guess it is just you and me then." He joked to Alexander, though he needed to be a little serious, and stay calm, he was barely a prisoner, if his guard thought he was hostile Manny would be shot. "Before we go much further, there is a .357 in my belt behind me, I am going to reach for it so I can set it down. Alright?" He slowly reached one hand behind his back and slowly placing the revolver on the ground in front of him. Then Manny moved in clear sight of the old man who he had now locked eyes with.

Once Manny had his hands locked together behind his head he prepared the words he was going to say in his head. "My name is Emanuel Newman, most people call me Manny. I was taken prisoner by the locals and.... they held area fights in the room behind me. One of the guards got sloppy, I got his gun, and worked things from there. I am not the only survivor of the arena though, just the only one with the mental state left to fight." Manny felt it a little hard to speak, he hated the idea of attacking people, even if they were possibly the most evil people of the remaining world. It was still hard for him. "There is a high chance that the guards in the room behind me may turn, it could be hours but I can't stop thinking about it. Are you up for helping em take care of that? maybe help the other survivors? if they can be helped..." Manny had seen plenty of cases where people were just too far beyond help. Most of those cases he would be able to put them in an improvised ward, but whenever something would get into the complex he was working out of they were normally some of the first to die. And he didn't really have a place to put them if these people didn't decide to help. Or if they didn't have a place either, then he wasn't sure what he would do.

Manny looked back to Alexander. "Alexander right? Or do you prefer Alex? either way, there are people that need help, and as one of the worlds few remaining doctors, it is my job to help them to the best of my ability. Even if that is just determining that there is nothing I can do for them. They were here longer then me, and seem unresponsive for the most part other then simple reflexes." Manny would wait for a response, and would do his best to not provoke his new guard who seemed less likely to shoot him then his old ones. Granted, they were dead now.

Amelia Payne

Location:Sharpsburg , Main st.(F11)
Skills: Sneaking, Athletics

“ Thank you, Ray.” Amelia mumbled quietly as she moved over to the radio with almost trembling hands to take it. It still seemed like a dream, a nightmare even, but at least things were looking a little better now. Maybe the others will also show up soon! She could only pray for all those whom they had lost contact with from the moment the whole town as if exploded only to be swallowed by the very earth it stood upon.” Riley...?” She asked timidly, half expecting no answer from the other side and that she'd wake up any moment now and find herself buried under tons of rocks or something only to awake for a final moment before her death.

Then she heard the voice of the singer more or less the same moment she spoke out! Her heart trembled at the sound of it.” Yes! I'm here...!” She replied in haste, heart beating fast like it's a marching drums.” You're still alive...” Amelia more or less burst into a silent cry at this point, feeling a relief like no other she had ever felt in the past. The true personal confirmation that Riley was alive was a powerful thing that she had felt for a very first time.” Are you hurt?” She managed to pull together her mind so she actually asks something of importance. She didn't think they'd have much time to talk since there were others who probably also wanted to have the chance to talk and then probably some organization talks to be had too.

“I myself am fine.” She hurried to tell her loved one.” A little tired, but fine.” She whispered, trying to find words to express her joy, but found herself being tonguetied since nothing she could think of could appropriately describe the joy in her heart.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Eden - Lower Lobby
Skills: Pistol, Hand-to-Hand Combat, Stamina

Beatrice couldn't help but chuckle slightly at Thalia's apology to Alexander. There was a certain shade of irony to it - he was on bitch duty and yet, of the four there (excluding Gavin, who was off on his own thing), he was the only one that wasn't female. But then again, had she been placed with guard duty and Thalia called her job bitch duty, Beatrice would've been tempted to put one between Thalia's eyes. She wouldn't have done it, of course - but the thought definitely would have crossed her mind.

Beatrice was just a few steps behind Thalia and slightly to her left, holding her gun at the ready. Her intention was to be able to keep an eye on everything, including their backs. While they may have cleared a portion of the top floor, Beatrice was skeptical that this place wouldn't be without tricks. This had to be the last line of defense up here - and given that they had just come to this place for the first time, it wasn't out of the question to think that there'd be ways to sneak around them and surprise them. If there wasn't, it was hardly much of a fortress then. They still had only had one casualty so far against the entirety of Eden. Beatrice then smirked slightly, wondering how Ryan would have reacted to all of this.

Jack Hudson

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: N/A

Jack shut his eyes, trying to get some sleep but it was hard. Whenever he let his mind wander and relax, it instantly went back to Tatiana. Rather than being excited about potential baby names, he would have just been over the moon to know that he was still going to have a baby. Tatiana could have named the baby Url and he wouldn't have cared. Of course, it wasn't just Tatiana his mind was thinking of - it was imagining her in a thousand different scenarios where he could have done something to save her...only he wasn't there. And even if Tatiana had survived the initial explosion - or whatever the official word was for the destruction of Newnan - there were a thousand dangers in this world.

He turned in his sleep slightly, somehow managing not to cry. He was living in hell and his angel was gone. He didn't know if he'd ever see her again and it was killing him. Part of him had half a mind to ask Ash to put him out of his misery if Tatiana didn't make it out of Newnan. It would have been, in some way, a service. One less mouth to feed. And Jack wasn't sure if he'd hold onto his sanity much longer. With the hallucinations of Sutton earlier...What if those were going to become the new normal? He let out a sigh, trying his best to fall into an uneasy sleep.

Eden

Location: Eden: Hallway near Fitness Doors, Lower Lobby
Skills: Survival, Pistol, Close Combat Fighting, Shotgun, Brawling, Hunting

Things were moving along as well as one could hope. Thana gave a nod to Thalia as she came up to her. Someone had her flanks, this was good. Even though it hadn't crossed her mind much since they had arrived in Eden, she did have plans. Plans to meet up with the rest of Newnan and head south. How many were left were anyones guess but there was one she knew was alive before they had headed to this hell on Earth. Ash. He had her dog tags and she was determined to get them back. They were not something she let go of easily. He better be around when this shit show was over for her to retrieve.

Gavin wanted people to have survived Newnan but his main focus was on Thana. She was out of his line of sight right then and there was a gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach. He never liked that feeling. It was one of those gut things. When you knew shit was about to go wrong. That feeling people used to get when the phone rang at 2 a.m. in the morning, or there was someone in your family showing on your caller id in the middle of the day on a Tuesday. When you prepared yourself for the worst as you said hello. Rushing Gavin moved through the parlor to catch up with the girls.

Spotting Thana as she moved from the lower lobby to the hallway near the doors of the fitness center. He walked out of the Parlor and nodded towards Thalia and Beatrice. They were still kicking it seemed. Maybe that feeling was for nothing. Then it happened and it was so stupid that it did. Thana had let her mind wander for all of half a second, missing a single door to check that was wide open. She had thought nothing of it. The doors were open, nothing had caught her attention out of the corner of her eye so she had kept moving. She should have stopped she should have checked.

It all happened so fast. A deranged looking man carrying an automatic rifle came out of the room Thana had failed to check and sprayed the place. From right to left, sending a fury of bullets this way and that. The first ones tore into Thana and she hit the ground. They tore through the wood and sheetrock, over towards the the other three. Gavin aimed and took fire as he stepped forward. Screaming as he pulled the trigger. It caught the man in the shoulder and he dropped the weapon. Gavin had stopped screaming and kept walking, but each step he took was slower than the one before until he was on his knees, a trail of blood matching the pool Thana was laying in marking his steps. Where either of them still breathing?

Alexander Polawski

Location:Eden: Hallway outside Wrath -> Lower Lobby
Skills: Pistol

Alexander was in no mood to laugh at the witty comment his new POW just made. Fraternizing with the enemy was rarely looked up upon, and who knew if this Manny-character was just an unfortunate prisoner in this hellhole or a former Edenite? Alexander had no idea, at least not the first moments he watched him. Alexander watched him closely as he put his shotgun down, making sure he didn't make any quick movements as if pulling for a gun or as he by now could assume an Edenite would do, charge him. So far, so good.

With the two of them standing alone in the hallway and the man calling himself Manny no doubt trying to defuse the situation, Alexander noticed various things. The first was that Manny called himself a doctor and not a fighter. Had he watched Star Trek? If he was being honest, that would mean having a very resourceful man in what Alexander still hoped could be a good group going forward with. Especially with Gavin's gunshot wound, which he still feared could be worse than he expected.

Alexander furthermore took note of Manny's next action, which was to slowly pull out a revolver and put that down on the ground as well. From what he knew, that didn't sound like an Edenite move nor the action of a man still intent on killing you. Had Alexader turned for only a second, Manny could easily have pulled the gun and shot him with it. But instead he made the veteran aware that he was still armed, and willingly disarmed himself. Combine that with the story Manny told him, and Alexander felt less need to aim his own pistol at his POW.

"Arena fights, eh? I'm not sure you're one of the lucky or unlucky ones." Alexander said to Manny, stepping forward ever so slowly as to reach for the revolver lying on the ground, picking it up and shoving it down in a pocket. All the while he spoke and did this, he still looked as much at Manny as he could. He was perhaps letting his guard down a little, but he was by no means an idiot. He hoped. "You can call me Alexander, but don't think you're good in my book yet, Manny. I can't let you do that while I'm alone with you, not just yet. Can't be too careful, not in this crazy madhouse. I mean, what proof do you have that you're a doctor?"

That was when the gunfire began again, followed by the scream. Alexander didn't just notice it, he vividly imagined what possibly worst could have happened just around the corner; Around the corner where the others were. "God, please no..." He breathed out, fearing the worst. He knew for a fact that none of them had an automatic weapon with them, and the screaming didn't help either. Alexander looked behind Manny and further up the corridor, conflicted as heck as what to do. He had orders to guard Manny, but the soldier in him knew that whatever was going up further ahead required him to assist. Follow orders or go help? Follow orders or go help? Alexander had done both in the past, and neither were a correct answer.

"I swear to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that if you take advantage of what I'm about to do and do something stupid, I will personally shove that shotgun so far down your throat that you'll shit pellets for months. Got it, 'doctor'?" Alexander said dead-serious to Manny, looking so hard into his eyes that you would think Alexander wasn't himself right then. Perhaps he wasn't. Perhaps it was the 20 year-old private Polawski that just wanted to save his friend? Alexander was serious either way, and knew he had to do something. "You better hope your skills won't be needed on my friends, Manny. Now follow me."

Alexander grabbed Manny's shotgun as he quickly moved past him and down the corridor. "We're coming up behind you, watch your fire!" With the pistol on his right hand and the shotgun in the left, the younger baby-boomer rendevouzed with the rest of their little squad. Or what was left of it; Gavin and Thana lay on the ground, looking definitly worse for wear. Beatrice and Thalia were still left standing, but that was not a good enough sign. Not at all; This was bad, real bad. "If you're a real doc', Manny, you better start fuckin' workin'!"

Now he just hoped and prayed that Manny had followed him, and that this wasn't one of his bad decisions again.

Ash Holloway

Location: Arnco Mills Safehouse (E10)
Skills: Leadership

Ash couldn't seem to shake the thought of that damned Class A uniform from his brain. Or more appropriately, the lady who owned it. It was a funny thing, how a man could come to care for someone in a very short time. Perhaps that was why he was, at least internally, very anxious to go to Eden. Part of him was already kicking himself for not immediately finding an alternate route around the gaping hole in the earth and joining them. He had been training himself for just that purpose, and for quite some time - building his endurance, getting in a lot more time practicing bow and close quarter fighting, learning and refining the talent of stealth from others in Newnan. It was his guilty little secret, transforming a veteran Army Engineer into something closer to a Ranger. Not that he would have directly compared himself to Special Forces before, but he did always feel that there was a sort of synergy to the motto of the Army Ranger, "Rangers Lead The Way", and the creed of the Combat Engineer, "We Clear The Way".

Of course, what left a raw spot in his brain was that, after pushing himself for so long to level a decisive, surprise strike against Eden, circumstances beyond his control placed that mission into the hands of others, one of whom was Thana. But he was going to do precisely as he promised he would - as leader of the survivors of the Newnan Implosion (God, he hoped the history books wouldn't call it that), he was responsible for seeing to the needs of his people, at least as far as their regroup point. Past that, he had his own plans. There was hope that the others would join him, but he would understand if they did not. He had promised Thana that he would be in Zebulon, followed by Mexico Beach. He would have to take a showing of hands to see who among them wanted to raid Eden's caches of supplies, but...

But he was thinking of anything he could to keep his mind away from the present of his mission. He was in the safehouse in Arnco Mills. He volunteered for first watch, and in the meantime he was taking stock of their supplies while everyone else settled in. They were all dealing with their own demons right then. Ash was not special in that regard. With a resignation born of what their reality dictated, rather than what he wanted to do, the grim Captain strode to the center of the room to begin taking a full inventory of their supplies. Tomorrow, first thing, it was the Moreland safehouse followed by Zebulon. And if they were very, very lucky, they might all get there in one piece.

"Goddamn dress blues..."

Thalia Carmichael

Location: Eden, Lower Lobby
Skills: Stealth, Survival, Pistol

It was damned spooky, really: Thalia was just thinking that "the last thing they needed was some asshat leaping out from a side room and making life interesting". It was the very reason that she had opted to close distance between herself and Thana, and switch out from her closer combat tools to a very cinematic option of guns akimbo. More bullets, less reaction time depending upon which side she would have to begin flinging them. Yet here that exact thing was happening, defying reason and suddenly making Thalia wonder if she had somehow developed magical psychic powers related to immediate precognition.

Thalia seemed to be moving in slow motion compared to this big, twitchy prick with the assault rifle. She wasn't sure what was going on precisely, but there was a lot of noise and Thana hit the ground hard. When Gavin stepped in front of a bullet or three that was meant for her and Beatrice, the twinge of uncertainty bled away and she knew what she had to do.

As Gavin began to slump over, Thalia swayed her body to use the big Texan as cover, going so far as to drop to one knee as he went down. One arm went out wide for balance, even as her new Beretta found the proper angle to deposit ammunition unceremoniously into the warm meat of a living asshat. The instant that she had a clear shot, be the man disarmed or not, Thalia took it. The 9mm in her right hand sounded twice, depositing bullets into the deranged looking man's hip and torso. Her eyes darted one way and the other, waiting and watching for more surprises to pop out at them. What she wouldn't have given for an EMT or a well equipped combat medic. Instead, her team had to settle for a slightly off Bostonian Scots-Mexican with a blade fetish, whatever Beatrice was, and an old guy with a woodaxe, none of which really were conducive to a speedy recovery in a firefight. "...one of you two cough or something..." she whispered aloud, still providing cover with her company issue Glock and identically framed, domestic Beretta.
